Chapter 41: This is Not a Dream, Right?

Evan hit Dustin till Dustin flew a few meters. Then he holds Rose in his embrace. His blood was boiling when he saw his beloved girlfriend’s face as white as the first snow, and her lips turned blue.

He still felt her heartbeat, to his relief, even though it was only a faint beat. He wasn’t too late, but the blood flowing from her wrist still hadn’t stopped. He could see that the white cloth tied to her wrist was now maroon.

"How many minutes!?" A frosty deep voice escaped from his stiff mouth.

"Three minutes, master!" One of the well-built men with a gun in his hand standing not far behind him answered quickly.

"Clean this crime scene! Clear all evidence that this woman has visited this place. And delete all her communication with that man...."

"Master, in what way should we punish him?" Another well-built man asked him.

Evan ties Rose’s wrist with his gray handkerchief. Then he looked at the man behind him with his sinister gaze.

"Make sure that bastard is rotting in prison. I do not wish to see him in this town ever again...." Said Evan coldly and in deep rage.

"Your wish is my command, Master."

Another man in a black outfit came in, "Master, the ambulance arrived."

Evan did not say a single word. He carried Rose’s motionless body to the ambulance.

"Young Master, her condition is stable now. But we need more blood, and, unfortunately, her blood type is rare...." One of the middle-aged doctors in the ambulance explained the patient’s condition to Evan. He was so careful handling the patient in front of him, worried that the Young Master would be angry if he made a mistake.

"Her blood type is not that rare, dear Doctor. I have the same type as her. You can take my blood. If it’s still not enough, call the capital, they have my bank blood there...."

The Doctor was surprised to hear that. Their young master’s blood is really precious. How could he just give it to this young lady? This young lady must not be a simple lady. She must be exceptional in Young master’s heart that he allowed her to take his blood.

"Yes, young master. I will assure them they are well aware."

Evan did not reply to the Doctor. His mind was still frightened when he saw his lover as pale as paper.

God! I’m so tired. I can’t endure this... Let me rest in peace.

She burst into tears remembering how much pain she had endured when Dustin killed her in her past life. The man was like a thorn in her flesh. He will never be gone from her life. He will always be there to bother her to torture her.

But amid her sadness, she remembers her mother. What will happen to her mother now? She hopes her mother will process her surgery and continue to live happily. So that her death was not in vain.

She tries to open her eyes, but a bright light hurts her eyes. In a hurry, she closed her eyes again. After a few seconds, she slowly opened to adjust her vision. She saw a white ceiling above.

Am I in heaven? She thought.

But later, she can hear a strange sound from beside her bed, like the live safer sound she used to hear in hospitals.

"Where am I?" She murmured while trying to look around her. She was shocked when she realized she was in a hospital bed.

Her eyelashes fluttered, and her chest felt heavy when she saw the man she loved, Evan, sitting beside her bed. His arms crossed in front of his chest and his eyes tightly shut, his head tilted slightly to the side. He was in a deep sleep.

"Ooh, god! Please tell me this is not my dream... please make it real. I want to hug this man! I want to be with him...." In a hurry, she woke up from her sleep.

Evan, who was sleeping, suddenly woke up when he heard the sound of the blanket being pulled.

"R-Rose!" Evan sat straight and helped her sit. He adjusts her hospital bed so she can sit comfortably. Just before he wanted to sit beside her, Rose’s arms wrapped around his waist, right at the exact moment. So tight that it took him by surprise.

"Evan! Please tell me this is not a dream...." Rose murmurs while sobbing. Evan was shocked to hear Rose pure her sadness. He gently stroked her head, trying to calm her down. But, deep in his heart, he felt his emotions barely controllable, imagining what his lover was going through. She must have been traumatized to cry profusely like this.

"This is not a dream Rose. You’re safe now, dear..." Evan sat on the edge of the bed, facing her. He saw her eyes slightly red and tears still flowing down her cheeks. He wiped her tears gently.

"I’m here... no one can harm you. I will protect you, Rose!"

Chapter 42: Kill Him

Rose’s mind was still hazy about what had happened. The last memory she remembers is the moment she sliced her veins. She tries to kill herself before that scumbag Dustin can take away her innocence.

But now, she is in the hospital room with Evan beside her. She was confused about what exactly happened after she lost her conscience.

"Evan, why am I here?" She was perplexed. Is she dreaming? Or is the incident with Dustin just her dream?

But when she looked at her wrist, she was shocked because there was a bandage wrapped around her wrist. And she saw there was a blood transfusion tube beside her bed. This is not a dream!

Evan saw Rose’s face look pale. But not as bad as the first time he found her unconscious.

"Did you forget what happened?" Rose hears Evan’s voice sound calm. She nods.

"You faint in the studio...." Evan doesn’t know what happened before he came. He tells her everything when he comes and finds her motionless on the sofa with her blood spread on the floor.

Rose’s eyes were blurry looking at him. Her heartfelt warmth because this man rescued her at the right time. If he didn’t show up at the right time, she’s probably dead by now. Die a second time at the hands of that damn man, Dustin.

"Evan, thank you so much..." But at the same time, fear hit her. Her handshakes as she holds Evan’s hand when she remembers Dustin’s eyes flash with lust.

Before continuing her words, Rose looked into Evan’s eyes, "Evan, t-that scumbag... did he t-touch me?" Her voice is barely audible. But, Evan heard it clearly and understood what worried her.

She saw his eyes shaking, and it made her heart ache. Slowly she lowered her head, feeling mad with herself. This is because of her; she created an opportunity for Dustin. If she hadn’t met him, none of this would have happened. Her hands grip the blanket in her lap as she holds her anger.

"No! He didn’t touch you!’’ Evan answered her worry. If he comes late, he never knows what will happen to her. Luckily he arrived at the right time.

Rose felt much relieved when she heard that. But a moment later, anger enveloped the deepest recesses of her heart. She flinched as she had the urge to kill the bastard in her mind. She lifted her head, looking at his calm eyes.

"Evan! I really want to kill him! How could he do this to me? He, he tries to rape me...." Evan was surprised when he heard that. Trying to subdue his sinister thought to kill Dustin, he silently took a deep sigh while holding her hand.

Rose can’t hold her tears. Between her tears, she continued. "I better kill myself than be touched by him... I will never face you again if he touches me, Evan. That’s why I cut my wrist... I’m really sorry!"

Evan pulled her into his embrace. He was so angry, but he couldn’t show her. Afraid this girl will blame herself. This is not her fault.

"Don’t apologize! This is not your fault, dear...." He stroked her back gently while closing his eyes to calm his burning heart.

After a few seconds of their embrace in silence, Evan continued his words.

"Rose... please never again think of killing yourself. Please, I beg you! What should I do if you do that? How could you not think of me? I never imagined what would happen to me if you vanished from my life!" Evan will not forgive himself if the girl dies. He thought he would follow her to the afterlife if she died in his selfish mind.

"I’m sorry..." Rose still cries in his embrace.

"Alright, now stop crying. Everything is fine now. No one will harm you again!" Evan coaxes the girl. He can’t let her cry for too long.

After some time, Rose can control her emotions. She pulled herself away, taking some distance to see his face.

"Evan, where is he now? I mean, that asshole, Dustin!" Her eyes were radiant with anger.

"No need to think of him. My people have already taken care of him. He will never bother you again...."

Rose was surprised to hear Evan’s words. Then suddenly, a question popped into her mind. How did Evan know she was in Cloud Studio? She hadn’t said anything to Evan about meeting with Dustin that afternoon.

"Evan, how did you find me?" Rose suspects that Evan has sent someone to follow her. Does he not believe her? Instantly she felt uncomfortable imagining it.

Evan smiles, looking at his worried girl.

"Did you remember the first time I met Dustin at your house?" Rose nods. Of course, she remembers. That day she made a clear line to Dustin about her relationship with Evan.

"Well, since that day, I have asked someone to follow his movements. For some reason, I feel uneasy seeing the look in his evil eyes when he looks at you."

Rose was surprised to hear that. But she remained silent to listen to what Evan was telling her.

And Evan told her everything.

This noon, one of the men he had sent to follow Dustin reports to him that his girlfriend met Dustin in a quiet studio. He was alert that something terrible might occur if Dustin tried to meet her in a closed and empty studio. He knew very well who Dustin really was... The man was very perverted, a well-known womanizer.

Many guys in their university know this guy slept with countless girls. And if he asked Rose to come to this empty studio, he must have had other malicious thoughts besides just wanting to talk to her.

And sure enough. What Evan predicted could happen nearly happened. He got a report from his people after they hacked the CCTV in the studio. Dustin tried to keep his girl inside the house. Without thinking, he immediately rushed to the location while asking for an ambulance to be on standby after seeing CCTV footage of Rose trying to hit Dustin with a hard object.

Although he could come to the studio and save her, he wasn’t happy. Rose wouldn’t have been hurt and dying if he had come sooner.

Chapter 43: Molly’s Surgery (1)

"Evan! Once again, I’m really thankful for your help..." Rose lowered her head to avoid Evan’s eyes.

Somehow she felt ashamed of herself. Shame for not being honest with Evan. She should have told him before she met Dustin, but instead, she kept it for herself and went to see that asshole alone.

"Please don’t thank me anymore... It’s my job to protect you. But, I hope there won’t be another incident like this, Rose." He can’t blame her. "And, please consider, you have rare blood... Did you know your blood is rare?"

"Hmm... I know."

"Thank God we have the same blood, so I can give you mine when you need it...." If only there were no AB negative blood stocks, Evan couldn’t imagine what would have happened to her.

Rose was surprised to hear Evan’s words.

"Y-You also AB negative?"

"Yes! You’ve lost a lot of blood and transfused several blood bags."

Rose could only take a deep sigh. While thanking him in her heart.

"Evan, what about my Mother?" Rose suddenly remembers her mother. She glanced at the wall, looking stunned. "We have to go home now. My mother will be looking for me..." Before leaving earlier, she had said she would have dinner at home because Evan promised to come to pick her up. Now, her mother must be waiting for her, right?

"This is 7 AM!"

Rose was shocked. So she’s been asleep in this hospital for so long?

"E-Evan, I want to go home now. My mother would be worried..." Rose wanted to get out of bed immediately, but Evan held her hand. She stopped and looked at him with a confused look.

"Don’t worry. Yesterday I called aunty. I told her we would go to the capital to look at the apartment you will live in when you move there... I promise her we will come back today."

Rose felt relieved. She immediately asked Evan to keep this incident a secret from her mother. Besides, Rose really didn’t want her mother to worry. She also doesn’t want her mother to be stressed because her mother will have surgery in two days. Fear of her emotions becoming unstable.

"Now, eat your breakfast first. We will see your condition after lunch... If there’s no problem, you can go home." Evan began arranging food for her, which touched Rose to see him sincerely take care of her.

"God! Thanks, you sent this man to me...." She silently thanks god in her heart while starting to eat her tasteless breakfast.

A few days later.

An hour had passed. Rose has been pacing back and forth before the operating room’s door with a restless heart since her mother entered the room.

"Can you stop facing like that, Rose? Please just sit here... the surgery will take a long time. Your feet could hurt...." Evan took a deep sigh. He forgot how many times he’s said those words. But, his foolish girlfriend doesn’t hear his world. She was too worried that something would happen to her mother.

Rose stops her step and sees Evan sitting in the waiting chair. On his lap, there’s a laptop. And his concerned-looking eyes are staring at her. She tried to smile at him before saying,

"I’m fine, Evan. Just continue your work. Don’t mind me...." She casually said and started moving again.

Evan could only shake his head, looking at his girlfriend torture herself. She may end up in the emergency room if she is still pacing like this because her feet might hurt. She has already done that for almost two hours.

He placed his laptop on the chair next to him and walked toward her. He stood right in front of Rose, still walking with her head looking at her feet.

"Evan!" Rose’s shock bumps into his chest.

He pulled her into his embrace.

"Be good, huh!? Your mother will be fine! Did you hear what the nurse said earlier? You know, who is the doctor who operates on your mother?"

Rose, still in Evan’s arms, looked up to see his face.

"The best doctor in this country...."

"Indeed! So, your mother would be fine. Now follow me. We should go to lunch first." Evan glanced at his watch. He was worried now because lunchtime had already passed a few minutes. "I believe the operation will be completed in the next few hours...."

"No! I’m afraid that when my mother finishes, she won’t see us here...."

"Your mother will not immediately wake up after the operation. She won’t see us either. She’ll be taken to another room for observation." Evan flicked her forehead gently, making Rose glare at him.

But she’s not angry. She understood what Evan was trying to explain. She obediently agrees with Evan’s idea.

Before they left, Evan asked Gavin to stand by in front of the operating room. It made Rose even more relieved; someone would tell her if the doctor needed something from her.

"Gavin, thank you." Rose smiles at Gavin while following Evan to the elevator. While Gavin feels tense because of his boss’ sharp gaze.

"Rose, can you not smile at another man?"

Rose looks up to see Even eyes. She almost laughed when she saw his jealous-looking eyes.

How could this man be jealous of his assistant?

When Rose and Evan enter the elevator, a few pairs of eyes near the nurse station stare at them.

A few nurses envied when they saw a beautiful couple hand in hand enter the elevator. After the elevator door closed, they looked at each other while chatting in their soft voices.

"Did you know who the woman is?" The nurse with tan skin asked her two friends beside her.

"I don’t know who she is. But I really envy her...." The nurse with short black hair responded.

"Me too! The girl is so lucky to have a handsome man as her boyfriend. The man looks handsome, and his aura is strong, like someone out of our league. You know, like the crazy rich heirs in this country...." The nurse in glasses also whispers to her friends.

 

Chapter 44: Molly’s Surgery (2)

"Well, her name is Rose Wilson. I don’t know who exactly is, but her mother is currently undergoing breast surgery. And the doctor who treats her is the number one expert doctor in this country. A doctor who practices at our main hospital. She only accepts VVIP patients..."

"WHAT! You mean Doctor Stearns!?"

"Yes, she is... Doctor Doris Stearns. I heard from my friend who is in the main hospital. Doctor Stearns canceled all her appointments today to fly here and operate on Ms. Molly Wilson. I became curious about the identity of Ms. Wilson. How could she know Doctor Doris Stearns?"

"My goddess... I can’t believe Doctor Doris Stearns wants to come here because of one patient. Doctor Doris Stearns had a lot of patients. I’ve never heard of her practicing outside the main hospital!?"

"What are you guys talking about?" Suddenly another nurse came to join them.

"We talk about Ms. Molly Wilson, a breast cancer patient. Do you know who she is?"

"I don’t know who she is. But I know her daughter’s boyfriend...." She said while tidying the file in her hand and then sitting down in her chair. Everyone looked at her in surprise, waiting for her to continue her sentence.

"Who is he?" They all shout in unison when they see that she doesn’t continue her sentence.

"He is my sister’s crush. His name is Evan Collins. He is a final-year student at B University. Poor my sister, if only she knew, Evan Collins already has a beautiful girlfriend..." She sighs profoundly, remembering how sad her sister will be if she knows her crush is already sold out.

"Wait, you said that handsome man is Evan Collins?" The nurse with tan skin was shocked to hear that name.

"Yes. Why do you know Evan Collins too?"

She didn’t answer her friend, but she asked them instead. "Did you guys forget who the hospital owner is?"

"Collins group, why you..." The nurse with black hair stops talking. Her face turned pale when she realized something. "OMG! That handsome man is our Young Master Collins!?" She closed her mouth with her two hands in disbelief at what she had just said.

"Gee!! I never expected we finally saw him. All this time, no one could see his face. He never appears in his family events...."

"No wonder our Director bowed to him before Ms. Wilson was in surgery earlier. I thought that man was someone above him. But apparently, he is far above him...."

"Shhh! Do you guys still want to work in this hospital?" Suddenly the head nurse appears behind the gossiping nurses. They all freeze in shock and shut their mouths, looking at the head nurse.

The head nurse continues, "If you still want to work here, stop talking about what you said earlier. And never talk to anyone about what you see on this VIP floor! If I hear anyone else who knows, the five of you would be the first people I would look for. Now, go back to your station!" She waved her hand and went back to her room.

She was still shocked by the presence of Young Master Collins in this hospital. She knows him because while she was practicing at the main hospital, she was a dedicated nurse for Old Master Collins’. She visited Collins Mansion several times when she accompanied the family doctor to check up on Old Master Collins.

And Now, the nurses gossip about this young master Collins? They might be sent to another branch if someone else finds out about his presence at this hospital. She will not risk her position. She enjoys working with this VIP wrath in this hospital branch.

As for Ms. Molly Wilson, she really envies her. Because she has a beautiful and intelligent daughter who can steal the Young Master’s Collins heart.

While at a Restaurant.

Rose lost her appetite. Just because Evan forced her, she tried to swallow her meal. Her mind never stopped thinking about her mother’s condition. Although knowing the doctor treating her mother right now was the number one best doctor in the country, she still wasn’t calm. Not until she saw her mother and could interact with her again.

Her mind still vividly remembers the incident when her mother died in her previous life. She always worries, will her presence in this life change her mother’s fate or not? This was the biggest worry bothering her in the past few days.

"Rose, please finish your lunch...." For the umpteenth time, Evan asked Rose to eat. Since her mother’s health worsened, Rose has always been in a daze every time she chewed her food. "Your mother will be worried if you get sick because you are not eating properly...."

Just as she finished her last bite, her cell phone vibrated. She was tense, looking at her cellphone, afraid Gavin had called her. But she frowned because she didn’t recognize the number. She picked it up immediately, afraid the number was from the hospital.

"Hello!"

"This is Rose Wilson?" Rose felt tense hearing the man’s voice from the other end.

"Yes, right. Who’s this?"

"Hi, Ms. Rose Wilson. I’m Steve Adkins..." Rose feels relief when she hears his name. She thought of the man who had called her from the hospital. But, it turns out Steve Adkins, the founder of Flash company. She listens to Steve as he continues his saying.

"Ms. Rose Wilson, you sent me an email a few days ago. And I thought I needed to hear more about your offer. So, can we meet?"

Evan, who sat opposite Rose, frowned when he saw his girlfriend smile while talking with a man on the phone.

Who is he?

He continues to eat his lunch and quietly hears what she is talking about. There was a slight feeling of unease rising in his heart.

Chapter 45: Molly’s Surgery (3)

"Hi, Mr. Steve Adkins... I’m so glad you’d call me." Rose smiles happily. Finally, the company she wants to acquire is interested in her offer.

She continues, "But, I’m really sorry, Mr. Adkins, I can’t go to the capital. I have to stay in East City because my family is being treated at the hospital. Can we make a plan to meet next week?"

"I’m sorry for your family, Ms. Rose Wilson. Don’t worry, I’m currently in East City. I’m in town until tomorrow afternoon. So, if you are ready to meet me, call me anytime. I will come to you...."

Rose immediately set up an appointment with Steve Adkins this evening. The sooner she meets him, the better. She didn’t want to waste time. Worried that other investors’ proposals would attract his interest before her business proposal.

Evan, who had just finished his dinner, put the cutlery on the table. He looked at his girl opposite him.

"Who are you meeting with?" His voice sounds calm, but his heart does not.

He feels jealous looking at his girl smile widely when she talks to that person and her eyes. When she speaks with that person, her eyes beam like a firework emblazing the sky. It’s a sign of how thrilled she was with the challenge.

He tried to be calm so this girl wouldn’t notice that he was jealous.

"Evan..." Rose places her cellphone on the table and looks at Evan with her beaming-looking eyes. Evan felt tense, waiting for her words. "Do you know Steve Adkins? I mean, have you met him before this?" She continues her words.

"Of course, I know. I’ve known that guy for quite some time." Evan’s thick eyebrows rose slightly. "Did you know Steve Adkins too? How long have you two known each other?" A fit of jealousy swallows him because his girl knows Steve Adkins. How could they know each other? As he knows, they don’t have the opportunity to meet.

Rose shakes her head before saying, "I don’t know him personally. But I contacted him first for my business matter...." Rose told Evan about her plans to acquire Steve Adkins’ e-commerce company, Flash.

Evan was surprised to hear that.

How could this girl also want to buy Flash? In fact, he and his team have included Flash in the list of startup companies that they will acquire by the end of this year.

But it turned out that this girl was ahead of his team.

"So you guys will meet tomorrow?" Evan casually asks while drinking his cola. His heart feels better now because he knows his girl contacted Steve Adkins just for business. Not because she knows him personally.

"Yes!" Rose’s voice sounded exciting. "Evan, can you come with me? This is my first time doing this. I need someone who has experience in acquiring other companies to accompany me. It will be helpful if you can come with me...."

Actually, she could do it herself. However, she was worried that Evan would be jealous if she met other guys, so she asked him.

"Sure, I’ll come with you if you really want..." Evan was happy that Rose had asked him to meet Steve Adkins. He was curious why she was interested in buying a company with an e-commerce business. This kind of business is still foreign in this country. He wanted to know her reason and what Rose would do with Flash if she succeeded in acquiring the company.

When they returned to the hospital.

Molly’s surgery isn’t over yet. They both decided to wait in the VIP wardroom on the same floor.

"Evan, why did my mother’s surgery take so long? The doctor said the operation would only take 3-4 hours if I’m not mistaken. It’s been 5 hours now, but it’s not finished yet?" Rose, who couldn’t calm down, started walking back and forth in the room.

"It will be finished soon. Just wait here, sit with me, huh!?" Evan coaxes her, but still, his words are ignored. She kept pacing around the room. It made him dizzy to see her. After taking a deep sigh, he finally made a phone call.

After Evan hung up the phone, the sound of approaching footsteps came from the corridor outside. Rose felt tense. She immediately walked to the door and opened it to see if the doctor or nurse had any news about her mother’s condition. However, she had to be disappointed again this time because only a few nurses passed by the room.

She took a deep sigh looking at the nurse passing by.

Evan can’t stand looking at his girl and worrying about her mother. He stood from his seat and walked to her. He pulls her into his embrace while closing the door behind them.

"I know you worry about your mother, but please be patient...." Evan led her to sit on the sofa then he sat beside her. "I just made a call asking about your mother’s condition. The operation was a success. But she’s being monitored for a while before she’s transferred to the observation room."

Evan looks at his watch before he continues, "Maybe in 30 minutes or an hour, we can see her from outside the observation room. Rose, don’t worry too much...."

"Evan, thank you! Now I feel much better..." Rose threw her body to his chest while taking a deep sigh to release her worry.

Worrying about what happened in the previous life is repeated in the present life. Worry God will be angry because she changed something she shouldn’t have done. But she had no other choice, her mother’s life meant a lot to her, and the first thing she would do when she came back to this life was to keep her mother alive.

"God! I promise, from now on, I will not interfere with anyone’s life in this life even though I know what will happen to them..." Rose made a promise to God in her heart. She will avoid those things.
