Ch. 496..500: Rebirth_ Dancing In My Destiny Chapter 496-500
Chapter 496: Feeling Guilty
This whole situation is very complicated. Evan couldn’t rush to move because he understood his opponent was clever and seemed to know his movement.
If he made the wrong decision, there would be repercussions that would follow.
After a brief pause, Evan finally decided...
"It’s too risky if we move him. Afraid the mastermind killed him on the way here. Stay in a safe place. I’ll fly there immediately!"
"Aye, boss!"
"Oscar, ask the nearest base to send their best man to look after your location." Evan was afraid that his nemesis already knew they had caught his hacker — he might send an assassin to kill him.
Evan ended the call after assigning some important things Oscar needed to do. After that, he called someone to prepare for his sudden trip.
He has to fly to France tonight!
*****
When Rose woke up from her nap, the sun was almost setting.
"Are you awake, dear?" Rose was surprised to hear Evan’s voice from the sofa area in the corner. She saw him sitting casually on the one-seater sofa while his eyes fell on her lovingly.
Rose smiled and sat on the edge of the bed, tying her hair. But then, she was flustered when she saw him wearing the formal clothes he usually wears when he wants to go somewhere.
"Why didn’t you wake me up?" Rose woke up and felt her head hurt from too much sleep. She slightly massaged her forehead.
"You sleep like a princess. How dare I wake you up?" He chuckled and walked over to her. Then, he helped massage her head. "Do you need a painkiller?"
"No. It’s not too bothersome. It’ll be gone in a minute..." She said as she closed her head, feeling how well Evan was massaging her head. "Are you going somewhere?
Evan didn’t reply right away. He kept massaging her head, stopping after a few minutes. "Are you feeling better?"
"Hmmm, you massage it so well... My head feels better now. Thanks, hubby."
As their eyes met, Evan said, "Wife, sorry I can’t accompany you tomorrow to Vale city. Because tonight I have to fly to France. I have an important matter to attend to..."
He felt sorry to say that, but he had no other choice but to fly to Europe today. He didn’t want this matter to drag on. He needed to catch the bastards who tried to mess with his life.
Rose was surprised to hear that. However, she didn’t complain because she knew Evan owned many large companies domestically and abroad.
And so far, her husband has delegated the company to his trusted people. He doesn’t get much involved in company affairs unless a difficult situation prompts him to step in.
Rose understood Evan’s trip to France this time must be critical, so he had no choice but to set off immediately.
"If you don’t have a plan, I want you to come with me...." Evan said. He still felt regretful about having to part ways with her again.
"Hubby, I also want to go with you. But I can’t cancel my trip to Vale City this time. I always cancel my trip there, and it wouldn’t be good if I canceled it again this time..." Rose felt regretful that she couldn’t go with him.
"I know. And for that, I’m so sorry I couldn’t keep going with you there. I hope your plan will go well..." Evan squeezed her hand gently.
"I hope so. Hubby, don’t worry about me... I’ll be fine in Vale City. I have Sam and Oliver accompanying me. Don’t feel guilty, huh!?" Rose smiled to reassure him.
"Fine, but make sure safety comes first. Don’t do anything dangerous!" Evan warned her. He knew his wife was now powerful, she could protect herself, but he couldn’t bear to see her hurt like last time.
Rose was amused by Evan’s words. All this time, she always avoids trouble, but trouble always comes to knock on her door. Rose sees no way around it. Not when her life or those closest to her are at stake. She’s not going to stay quiet, is she!?
For tomorrow’s trip, she’s only going there for a day trip, so she should be fine, right!?
"Hubby, I will. You also take care of yourself. Come back unscathed, or I’ll be mad!" She warns him.
"Don’t worry. My people are stronger in Europe than in the US. No one can touch me there..." Evan explained confidently.
"I believe you..." She brought her head closer to Evan, then kissed him gently. But then the kiss got more intense when Evan started kissing her back.
The lingering kiss seemed to have vented Evan’s inner feelings, reluctant to leave her. After a while, he slowly parted his lips as he felt the two of them run out of oxygen.
He could see her cheeks turning red. Her watery eyes looked deep into his eyes, and her slightly parted lips seemed to issue another silent invitation. His heart started to race.
A seductive smile appeared on Evan’s face before he whispered near her ear, "Well done, dear. You have become bolder recently in taking the initiative. Would you like to warm up before our dinner? We have a few minutes..."
"NO!! Let’s have dinner. I’m hungry..." Rose immediately stood up and left the room.
If they start having sex now, they will do it until morning. Gosh! She still feels exhausted after their intense night on the island — she just wanted to rest tonight.
Evan laughed as he walked quickly to follow her shy wife downstairs.
Before midnight after Rose fell asleep, Evan left for the airport with Gavin and a few people from Silver Phoenix who had recently been watching him from a distance. Evan was wary, worried that this was a trap from that person.
Besides increasing his security, he also ordered Sam to bring several core teams to follow them to Vale City tomorrow.
For some reason, Evan felt something was going to happen, but he didn’t know what or when.
Chapter 497: Coming From The Future
Vale City.
Rose arrived at Vale City in the morning. They immediately went to the Wilson Group office to meet some key people in charge of W Mining and their partner, D Mining.
At the meeting, it was discussed about the company’s earnings in the first half of the year and the results were very good for a company that had just started.
Rose had predicted this would happen because she knew this company from her previous life. She couldn’t hide how excited she was at this meeting. And she is looking forward to how much change the company will make to the mining industry in Astington. The gold ore in their mines is the largest ever discovered in this country.
"Rose, you really are my lucky star!!" Whispered Oliver to Rose, who sat beside her. "How did you know Rapid Realty had this treasure?"
This girl never ceases to surprise him. All the companies they acquired ended up doing well. Not only that, but when they traded on the stock exchange, she always suggested the right companies to buy from.
As a novice in the stock market, Oliver only follows Rose’s advice. He always makes enormous profits by following her advice. Often he thinks that Rose has powers and can foresee the future.
Rose slowly turned her gaze to Oliver, "Do you want to know?" She smiled.
Oliver had asked this question many times since he first learned that a gold mine had been discovered in one of Rapid Realty’s lands.
All this time, she never knew how to answer him because Oliver or anyone would never believe her. They probably thought she was crazy, and because of that, she always smiled when Oliver asked her.
However...
Today, she was in a good mood. She had to be honest with him.
A smile emerged from Rose’s lips before she whispered softly, "Friend, I came from the future! That’s why I know..."
After saying that, she slowly pulled her head away, wanting to see Oliver’s reaction — did he believe her, or as she thought, this man would think she was crazy!? She was curious.
But Rose only needed a few seconds to know the answer. As she expected, Oliver gave her a strange look, like saying through his eyes, "RIDICULOUS!?"
She chuckled when she saw him, shook his head slowly as if to say that; asking you was pointless!
Oliver shifted his gaze to the most essential person in the company. He’s reporting the company’s progress.
Rose could only chuckle while muttering in her heart, "Oh, God! It’s tough to be an honest person!"
Before long, the meeting is over...
Rose had been waiting for the following schedule: a visit to the mining site.
This will be Rose’s first time visiting a mining site. Because the first trip failed, at that time, their car went into a ravine and nearly killed Oliver.
Rose is still a little traumatized by going through that steep road again. That’s why she always refuses to visit the mining site.
But today they will not be using a car to go there, because the company has already finished building a helipad. So they will go there to use helicopters.
Arriving at the helipad not far from the Wilson Group office, Rose was surprised to see Marvin Sanders, CEO of Dream Inc, sitting inside the helicopter. He seemed to have been waiting for their arrival.
"Huh!? Why did Marvin come!? Isn’t there already a representative from Dream Inc?" Rose asked Oliver, who was walking beside her.
"Well, I’m as surprised as you. I just found out now that Marvin is also visiting the site... Let me check first!" Oliver said and then immediately called his secretary about it.
Rose didn’t wait for Oliver. She walked over to Marvin and smiled at him as the men waved to her.
She immediately entered the helicopter and sat down beside Marvin and used the communication device.
"Marvin, I’m surprised you were coming as well..." Rose said.
"Yeah. Well, I was supposed to join a meeting with you this morning, but my plane was delayed, so I was a bit late." He lied.
He had no plans to come here, but someone forced him to accompany Rose to the mining site.
"Damn! Big Boss is very protective of his wife." He could only curse Evan in his mind.
"Oh, I see. You should be able to fly with us. Our jet is pretty empty..." Rose grinned. "Ah, are you staying over in this city? If not, you can come back with us this afternoon."
"No. I’ll be back later this afternoon. I’d love to join you, but..." Marvin was reluctant to tell her.
"What is it, Marvin!?"
"Actually, I’m here with my G... friend..." He glanced at her. "I’m worried you won’t be comfortable if someone else joins..."
"G...Friend? Oh, you mean your girlfriend?" Rose suddenly remembered the singer she had seen at Brother Aidan’s restaurant.
"Yes!" Marvin had already guessed Evan must have told Rose about his relationship with Kimberly.
"Oh, no problem. You can bring your girlfriend too." Rose said nonchalantly. "Marvin, why did she come with you here?"
"Coincidentally, she is currently working in this city. And in the afternoon, we have plans to return to the capital."
"I see..." Rose said. "Alright, if you want to come with us, that’s fine with me. We plan to fly after dinner..."
"Thanks, Rose." Marvin smiled. He would instead take a private jet than take a public plane. If he’s alone, it doesn’t matter. But with Kimberly coming with him, it would be troublesome if she bumped into her crazy fans.
Soon they arrived at the location.
Rose was amazed to see the development of a mine professionally managed by D Mining, owned by Dream Inc.
While Marvin and Oscar, as the CEOs of their respective companies, stood at the front listening to the site manager’s report, Rose walked behind, listening silently. She dresses too formally, making her look more like a secretary than a company owner.
Chapter 498: Pregnancy Test
After a tour of the mining site, they all went back to the city using helicopters.
Rose plans to have dinner at the local restaurant before returning to the capital.
She went to the famous seafood restaurant along with Sam, while Oliver picked Kimberly. They will join them later.
But before arriving at the restaurant, she saw a pharmacy right next to the restaurant. Suddenly a thought crossed her mind. She hasn’t had her period yet.
Pregnant!? She felt thrilled to imagine this time she was really pregnant.
But then, the fear of disappointment immediately filled Rose’s mind. She tried to divert her mind while following Sam to the restaurant.
Soon they entered the VIP room. The room is not too big. There is a wooden dining table in the middle of the room, and there are 8 chairs neatly arranged facing each other.
After they ordered, Rose excused herself to go to the toilet outside the VIP room. But, for some reason, her curiosity bothered her, so she went to the pharmacy to buy some Pregnancy Test kits. She needs to check if she is really pregnant or not.
Without telling Sam, she walked out of the restaurant and visited the pharmacy. She bought ten Pregnancy Test kits from all brands available — to ensure no errors in the test results later.
In a short time, Rose finished with the pharmacy, she walked back to the restaurant. Just a few steps from the entrance, without she realized someone was standing behind her. Suddenly her mouth was covered with a handkerchief. It has a strong smell of chloroform. Instantly she felt her limbs grow weak, and her vision darkens. Rose could feel her consciousness slipping away quickly.
.
.
.
.
At the same time, in the suburbs of Paris,
Evan arrived at a small and far-from-nowhere building. He was greeted by Oscar, who looked very enthusiastic to see him.
"Boss, do you want to rest first, or do you want to meet the hacker?"
"Let’s meet him now." Evan didn’t want to delay. His inner self told him there was something fishy about all of this. And he was curious to know who was the mastermind behind it all.
Oscar then led Evan down to the basement, and they entered a not-so-large room. The room was soundproof and equipped with a Faraday cage. So no signal can go in or out of the room. Not even a satellite signal.
Only two chairs were facing each other in the middle of the room, and the hacker was sitting in one of the chairs in a very miserable state.
The shape of his face was unrecognizable, many wounds were still wet all over his face, and his whole body was covered in ghastly wounds. However, there was not the slightest bit of pity in Evan’s eyes. Instead, his gaze was cold, staring at the man.
Evan sat on the chair while the hacker sat tied to the chair. The hacker barely managed to keep his face from looking at Evan, but a second later, his face slowly dropped as if he had no strength to lift his head.
"Speak!! Who do you work for?" Evan’s usual cold voice echoed through the room.
The hacker slowly raised his head and met Evan’s sharp gaze. A mocking smile appeared at the corner of his lips that made Evan feel uneasy just looking at it.
"This man isn’t afraid of death, and now he’s mocking me!? And, why did he ask me to fly here to speak to him!?" Evan was talking to himself, trying to figure out this man’s strange behavior.
This man tries to test his patient!?
Instantly, a wave of nameless anger welled in his heart as he took out his gun and shot the man in his knee. The hacker howled in pain, but after a few moments, his evil smile returned to his face.
"Speak!" Evan’s patience was wearing thin. "If you don’t talk now, your parents in Stockholm will die with you."
Instantly the hacker’s face turned pale as if all the blood had drained from his face. While his eyes widened in horror, looking at Evan.
He has never been in touch with his family via the internet or other means of communication. The last time he visited them was 5 years ago.
How could they find them this fast!?
"I’m running out of time now!" Evan put pressure on the hacker.
The hacker’s lips trembled before a word finally left his bloody lips, "P-Please don’t kill them! I will tell you."
"Who!?"
"W-Willard Harper!" There’s a pin-drop silence in the room after the hacker says that name.
Willard Harper? Why?
Evan couldn’t understand why Willard Harper had such a deep grudge against him.
Wait, this can’t be right!?
"Is he also the one who sent assassins to kill me in the US?" Evan asked.
"Yes!"
"The one who slandered me with Carla Miller was the same guy?"
"Yes!" The hacker’s mouth twitched as he thought of something. Did he need to tell this man or not!?
After thinking this man would kill his parents, he decided to say it. "And, there’s something you should know..."
"What?"
"It’s about your wife. Willard has a plan for her! A bad plan!"
Instantly Evan’s face, which looked calm, slowly turned stiff when he realized something; This trip was a trap. That bastard Willard wants to separate him from Rose.
Damn it!! Evan could only curse, feeling angry with himself.
Without saying anything, he left the room and made a call. But Rose’s phone is unreachable.
"Oscar, track my wife and Willard Harper, now!" He instructed Oscar while making another call.
After ringing twice, the call was connected, "Sam, where’s my wife?" His voice trembled, too scared to hear Sam’s answer.
"Boss, sorry, we lost her thirty minutes ago! Someone kidnapped her..."
Instantly Evan felt his pulse stop beating. His mind seemed to explode at the thought of Willard kidnapping his wife.
That bastard! How could he kidnap Rose?
"Boss, we’re still tracking her, but it’s difficult. This guy really capable to hide his tracks." Sam continued.
"Sam, listen... It was Willard Harper who kidnapped her. Tell the others to find him. I’ll be flying back soon... Do whatever it takes to find my wife and call Sean! Get his team to help you guys."
After instructing Sam, Evan ended the call and prepared to fly back to Astington.
Chapter 499: Helpless
Rose felt her whole body ache when she woke up. It felt like she had just done so much physical exercise that all her muscles were struck.
However, the pain completely vanished when she realized she was in an unfamiliar huge luxury bedroom. She was lying on a king-size bed with white sheets.
She can see a few cabinets in the corner with a gold accent and a pretty chandelier hanging in the middle of the room.
The decoration of this room was like a Victorian interior style which looked very foreign to her because she never came to this place.
"Where is this?" Rose muttered under her breath as she woke up. Instantly her body stiffened as a memory flashed through her mind; she was on drugs shortly before losing consciousness.
"Did someone kidnap me?" Her pulse quickened as she took a quick look at her body.
She breathed a sigh of relief when she saw that her clothes were still the same as she had used before; a navy blue palazzo and a white shirt. Only her shoes were no longer visible.
Rose got up from the bed and walked out of the bedroom and onto the large veranda with a large glass wall to see where she was. It is so big, it is almost like a yard. From there, Rose could see the surroundings at nearly 360 degrees. And her heart sank when she saw beaches on her right and left, her fore and aft. And beyond that, an endless sea spread out before her eyes. And she could see several men dressed in all black with firearms standing guard around the house.
"Am I on an Island? I must be. I’m on an island! How did I get here? Who brought me here?" Her voice was trembling, afraid that the person who had kidnapped her would do something heinous to her.
She tried to open the glass window in the corner but couldn’t as it was permanently locked and even if she could open it she had no chance of escaping, she was on the third floor.
Feeling helpless, she punched the glass window so hard, trying to break it with her hand, but instead, her hand felt an indescribable pain. It felt like her knuckles were crushed.
"Shit!! This is bulletproof glass? What house is this? Is this the president’s summer house!? Why is there extra security on the island!?"
After the pain in her hand slowly faded, she tried to scan her surroundings once more. She was looking for items in the room to make weapons, to protect herself.
But she found nothing. Not even a glass or sharp object. Likewise, in the bathroom, she found nothing.
She also could not find her bag. Not even all the accessories she used, such as her watch and wedding ring, were not on her body. She knew Evan had tracking devices installed on her smartwatch and cell phone.
Her knees felt weak as she realized she was losing hope! No one could find her because she was completely undetectable.
Fear enveloped her heart and mind, but she held it together by staying calm. It was the only way she could find a way to get out of this place.
Whoever kidnapped her, it was obvious this person had malicious intent towards her.
Who?
She tried to guess, but only one thing came to mind, the White Skull gang. They were the only enemies she could remember, or... Sonya Mosses!?
"No! That woman can’t hurt her... It must be the White Skull Gang!"
Rose took a deep sigh and circled around the room one more time. Later, she stopped right at a large black door.
She had tried to open the door, but obviously, she couldn’t open it. It was locked. She stood there and tried to hear any movement from behind the door.
However, she couldn’t hear anything. Not even the sound of the waves crashing against the rocks outside could be heard. The room was soundproof.
After a few minutes of standing at the door, she sat on the couch, trying to keep her head clear. She had to come up with a plan to escape from this place.
Before long...
Rose could finally hear movement from outside, her heart beating faster, curious to see who had kidnapped her.
The black door slowly opens, and a man wears a suit and glasses. He looked half a century old from the color of his gray hair.
She had never seen this man. Who was he? Upon seeing the tray in his hand, she could only guess that this man was not the kidnapper but the house’s butler.
"Good morning, miss... Here is your breakfast." The man in the suit placed the tray on the dressing table near the door.
Rose stood up from her seat and walked towards the man, but he backed away near the door as if preparing to leave.
She suddenly stopped in her tracks. Afraid that this man will do something to hurt her or lock her up again.
She needed information from this man to know what really happened to her.
They look at each other, but the man clearly doesn’t want to say anything.
"Please tell me, why am I here? Who took me here? Sir, can you give me my bag? I need to call my husband..." She said slowly. There was no hint of fear or coercion in her tone.
The man still pursed his lips, but his eyes were trying to say something, but he seemed confused to answer.
"Okay, let me ask again, where am I?"
"As you can see yourself, you are on an Island, miss."
"I know that, but what is the name of this island?" She asks, but the man remains silent.
Rose felt helpless. She wanted to know if she was still in Astington or not. Because she found it strange that the man in black outside looked like a foreigner.
"And who brought me here?" She asked again.
"He will come to see you soon..."
Rose’s heart seemed to stop hearing that. Who is that man?
Chapter 500: The Kidnapper
Rose’s heart seemed to stop hearing that. Who is that man?
"S-Sir, can you return my bag?" She already knew the answer, but she was trying her luck.
"Miss, you brought nothing with you when you arrived!" Rose’s forehead furrowed at his words.
She remembered when she went to the pharmacy, she had her bag with her.
Did they throw away my bag? She felt helpless.
Seeing the girl’s silence, the man said, "Miss, you can change your clothes. Some clothes have been prepared for you in that wardrobe. And don’t forget to take your breakfast before meeting my master."
He quickly left the room without giving the woman a chance to ask further questions.
Rose stared at the tightly closed black door. She could hear the sound of the door being locked from outside.
Her heart sank deeper! This is the real deal that now she is a prisoner. But who? Who is the man who did this to her!?
She stood there feeling confused by what had happened to her. Is this real or just a dream? She prayed silently; if all this was just her dream, this was not real. Later, she will wake up in her husband’s arms, right!?
However, that was just her wishful thinking. Everything is real! She was actually locked up in a luxurious room.
She had been missing for hours, and she was sure now her husband already knew. He must be worried!
"I’m sorry, Evan..." She muttered softly. Her eyes felt warm as tears slowly rolled down from the corner of her eyes. Then, suddenly her chest was tight to breathe as a thought crossed her mind; by now, her mother must know she was kidnapped.
Why is her fate being tested again? After experiencing cruel trials, she was given heaven, and now she is again given a chance to taste hell.
Crouched on the floor with her head barely touching her knees as she poured out her frustration.
"God, do you have a grudge against me? Did I ever irritate you in my past life to cause me to go through as many trials as I do now?"
After getting rid of all her frustration, her sobs began to subside. However, she could feel her eyes and throat hurt a lot because she had been crying for so long.
She slowly sat on the floor, and her eyes fell on the tray on the dressing table.
After taking a deep breath, she stood and walked over a bit to check the tray. Even though at this time she felt hungry, she had no appetite looking at the English breakfast served on a plastic tray.
Rose’s mind was filled with plans to escape from this place, and she felt disappointed that the cutlery on the tray was all made from plastic. There were no tools she could use to defend herself.
Feeling upset, she closed the tray again and threw herself on the bed. She closed her eyes, hoping that what had happened right now was a dream.
However, several minutes passed when she opened her eyes, and her line of sight was still fixed on the same ceiling. She’s still in the same place. She bites her inner lips and tries to hold her tears.
"Stop crying, stupid girl! Prove that you can protect yourself... and break free from this place."
Now, she would only rely on her self-defense and martial arts skills. Hoping her kidnapper wasn’t an expert like Sam. If so, she was sure she could beat him.
She plans to wait for the man who kidnaps her. She will fight him and get out of this place alive if there is a chance.
After she encouraged herself. She got out of bed and went to the wardrobe to check the clothes.
But she was speechless looking inside the wardrobe.
All the clothes in the wardrobe look sexy and feminine, an alluring dress that would show her curves if she wore them.
"Oh my god! That man must be a pervert... How could he have prepared this kind of clothes!?" Rose suddenly felt goosebumps, thinking of her kidnapper’s intentions.
After seeing the wardrobe, she closed it again — discouraged from changing her clothes. She returned to the veranda and tried to find a way to escape.
After some time...
Rose was sitting on one of the garden chairs on the veranda, looking at the vast blue ocean.
She didn’t touch her lunch when the butler came to deliver it. Afraid that the food and drink they give her would contain drugs, she would faint again.
It wasn’t long before dusk arrived, and the sea began to look calmer. At that time, Rose felt her body stiff from sitting in a chair for too long without doing anything. Only her brain and senses work, be aware of her surroundings — she is ready to attack.
When she returned to the room, she heard the sound of the door opening.
Rose had thought it was the butler delivering her dinner, but she was shocked when she saw the man who had appeared on the other side of the door.
Her heart was beating fast, too happy to see him.
"Willard..." Rose whimpered, almost crying. "I’m safe! I’m alright now..." She muttered. She is happy because someone she knows has appeared on this island to help her.
"W-Willard, did Brother Noah tell you that I was kidnapped!?"
Even though she was sad that Evan didn’t come to rescue her, she still felt grateful that Willard had found her.
Rose’s smile widened as she walked towards Willard, but her steps abruptly stopped when she saw his expression.
At that moment, her heart seemed to stop beating. Her legs felt weak, realizing that this man was not her savior, but he was her kidnapper.
"W-why are you doing this to me?" Rose asked haltingly, still unable to control herself. She was shocked to find out that Willard Harper had kidnapped her.
Her hands clenched tightly, holding back her anger, and she tried to stay calm. She can’t rushingly provoke this guy, not now.
She needed to talk to him, to find out his motives. As she recalled, she didn’t have a problem with this man. Even a few days ago, they were still chatting well.
