Chapter 81: Jamie Stone

Next day.

At the Cozy Cafe, on the second floor of Rose’s house.

Cozy Cafe is owned by Jamie Stone. The place where Rose often visits if she has a problem. But that was when uncle Jamie’s son, Noah Stone, was still living there. Now Rose rarely stops by The Cozy Cafe because Noah Stone moved to the Capital to pursue his singing career.

Today Rose had stopped by to say goodbye to Uncle Jamie before moving to the Capital.

"Rose... good morning!" A man with a black pompadour hairstyle greeted Rose.

Rose immediately thought of legendary singer Elvis Presley whenever she saw Uncle Jamie. They look similar. It’s just that he’s a little bit shorter.

She looked at Uncle Jamie wearing his casual outfit with a black apron wrapped around his waist.

"Morning, Uncle..." She smiles at him.

Rose didn’t see any other customers in the room. She walked and sat in her favorite spot, near a glass window, looking at the street below.

"It’s been a while Uncle has not seen you, Rose...." He raises his thick brow as he stands in front of her.

"I come here a few times, but your staff tells me you are still in the Capital. How’s the Capital? Did my Brother Noah do fine?"

With a smile, Uncle Jamie replies, "Yeah, Noah is doing fine. But he is always busy. Even though I went there on vacation at his place, I rarely saw him. That’s why I decided to return ahead of schedule... Living there is boring. I have no friends to chat with"

After a sigh and stopping for a few seconds, suddenly Uncle Jamie looks at Rose with caring eyes and says, "Anyway, enough about me. Tell me about you. How are you doing? What do you want to share with your Old Uncle Jamie?"

Jamie remembered last night when he was still in the Capital. Rose texted him, asking for time to chat. He wondered why this girl suddenly wanted to talk to him. Early in the morning, he rushed back to this city. He was worried that something might happen to her or her mother.

Before Rose opened her mouth to answer, he saw Uncle Jamie raise his hand, calling his female waitress to take their order.

"Rose... What do you want to drink?" Ask Uncle Jamie. But before Rose answers, he continues, "Ah, must be the usual, right?" So now Rose just nods.

"Iced Americano for her and hot coffee for me, please." Jamie Stone orders them to the waitress before he continues his words, "Alright... now tell me. What do you want to talk to me about?"

"Uncle Jamie, I just wanted to inform you... in a few days, I will be moving to the Capital. I will stay there to start my business..." Rose smiles, looking at how surprised Uncle Jamie is hearing her words.

She continued her words, "I need your help to look after my mom, Uncle Jamie. Well, you don’t have to worry about her. She is not alone at home. I have hired a maid to accompany her and help her take care of our house... You know Aunty Nora, right?"

"Sure, I know Nora pretty well... Sometimes, when Café is crowded, I ask her for helps in here too."

"Aunty Nora has been living in our house for a week. She will take care of my mom while I stay in the Capital."

"Why did you suddenly want to move to the capital, Rose?" Jamie Stone was curious. Because he had never heard this girl had a dream to move out of this city. She loves her mother and never imagined she would live in a different town with her mother.

"Uncle Jamie, this is not a sudden decision... I’ve been planning this for quite some time."

"Rose, did you consider your mother’s feelings? She must be worried and will miss you a lot if you stay in another city. Am I right?"

"Don’t worry, Uncle Jamie. My mom will move to the Capital with me soon. If my plan goes well, she will move in with me early next year..." Rose smiles, then she drinks her ice coffee after the waitress serves them.

Jamie Stone was shocked. Will Molly leave this town? Instantly his heart hardened as his face turned gloomy at the thought of Molly living in a different city.

"Hahaha, Uncle Jamie, you should work hard to win my mom’s heart. So you can move with us as well..." Rose felt sorry for this Uncle Jamie. Jamie Stone ponders as he looks outside the window. What Rose said is true. His son always asked him to move to the Capital, but he couldn’t.

He couldn’t bear to leave Molly and Rose alone in this city. Even though Molly has never accepted his feelings, he is happy just to be able to stay near her and see her as a best friend. Now, he considers Molly as his sister. And he liked their current relationship.

"I will move to the capital if your mother moves...."

"That’s great, Uncle!" Rose is so happy for Brother Noah. Finally, he can reunite with his father after moving to the Capital for a year. "But for now, please help me look after my mom...."

"Don’t worry. Without you asking, I’ve already done that, Rose." Jamie Stone laughed.

"I hear from my staff that your mother has stayed in the hospital for a few days. Is she sick?"

When she returned to her house, she saw her mother watching the breaking news.

Chapter 82: Before She Change Her Mind

A week later.

Last few days Rose spent her time staying at home to accompany her mother. She rarely left the house unless there was an important matter or met with Evan for dinner. She spent the day at home, focusing on making money in the stock market.

She needs a tremendous amount of money to grow her company, and the stock market is her source of income. Fortunately, all the stock investments gave her a considerable return. Her knowledge and memories of the future really helped her a lot.

While her new company Wilson Group has started running. Her genius friends, James, Danny, and Randy, arrived in the Capital a few days ago. They all started to manage the new office that Evan rented for her. She will meet them at Wilson Group tomorrow morning to assign their duties and responsibilities.

As for Oliver Hester, he was still busy taking care of the King Game Center. But he will arrive at the capital tomorrow morning. He will join for the first meeting of Wilson Group. Likewise, Steve Adkins, CEO of Flash, will also be present at the meeting.

"You deserved it...." Molly laughs, looking at her sulky little daughter.

Rose could only chuckle hearing her mother’s words.

"Mom, never skip your lunch or medicine. And you should know, Aunty Nora and Uncle Jamie are my spies. They will report to me if you do not eat well...."

"Y-You!" Molly speechless. "Alright, now go! Don’t let my son-in-law wait too long."

Molly looked at Evan, begging for help so he could drag her daughter out of the house before she changed her mind forbidding her daughter to move to the Capital. Although only temporary, she began to feel sorry for allowing her to live in another city.

She will miss her a lot. But she can’t hold her to stay here till the rest of her life. Her daughter needs to pursue her future, and as her mother, she will only support and pray for her.

"Aunty, we will visit you every week. Or you can come to the Capital to stay with Rose on the weekend or if you miss her." Evan could understand Aunt Molly’s grief.

"Hahaha, son-in-law, don’t worry. I won’t miss her...." Molly smiles, but her heart is feeling a little bit hurt.

"Mother! How could you say that? Don’t you want me anymore?" Rose’s face suddenly turned gloomy.

"Here you go again! Looks like you have to change your careers. Stop being a businesswoman and go casting a role for a movie. You’ll be accepted right away as a female lead...." Molly laughs and teases her daughter.

Rose is amused to hear her mother’s words. She laughs while hugging her mother once again before she finally excuses herself.

This is only temporary. Deep in her mind, Rose promises to bring Molly to the Capital early next year.

When they arrive at the parking lot. Rose looked at the black Mercedes SUV. She feels terrible remembering the accident when their car was attacked by The White Skull gang. The second weird thing she’s ever experienced after her rebirth.

Speaking about the car robbery incident carried out by the White Skull gang... a few days ago, she heard the news that the gangster was a syndicate of drug dealers in this city. She holds her breath as she pictures Evan kissing her. Slowly she closed her eyes. Wait. But nothing happens. Instead, she hears his voice near her ear,

"Rose, now, I will take you to the Capital. Maybe when we come here again, you will carry a different status... not as Rose Wilson, but as Ms. Collins." His charming voice makes her heart almost jump out.

Rose was at a loss for words. She could feel how hot her face was. Too awkward, she immediately turned her gaze elsewhere.

Gosh! Still early in the morning, this man has already tempted her fragile heart!?

"Hearts! Please be strong... this man will challenge us for almost three hours during the capital journey." Rose is trying to make her heart ready.

This trip would not be as easy as she thought. The chance Evan will discuss marriage is pretty high.

 

Chapter 83: Should I Tell Him?

As their car moved. Rose could only look outside the window watching their vehicle leave the area slowly. This area is where she has lived since she was born. There’s a bit of a sad feeling about leaving this town.

But there is also a feeling of delight about moving to the capital. There was much Rose wanted to do in the city she lived in for almost 10 years in her previous life. However, even though she lived there that long, she never explored the city. She spends too much time at home and in certain places. This time there are many places to visit and enjoy.

The capital left her with many sad and dark memories of the past. Now she wants to fix it all. She tried to make good memories there with Evan. Her future this time must be more beautiful and memorable than before.

"What are you thinking?" Evan asks Rose. After a few minutes, Rose is not saying any words. He can feel her girl must be worried about leaving her mother.

"I feel sad leaving this city. Do you believe that I had never gone to another city when I lived in this city?"

"Really?" Evan was surprised to know that. "Not even going to the capital?" The capital is so close, only 3 hours by car. How could Rose never visit it?

"Well... yes, I never have. Funny, right?" She chuckled. In this life, she never goes to another city. But in her previous life, she spent almost 10 years at Capital till Dustin took her life.

"Are you scared?" Evan questions making Rose feel confused.

"Scared of what?" She looked at him. His face looks so calm even though he’s been driving for almost two hours. Soon they would reach the capital. The closer their car to the Capital City, the more exciting Rose is.

"Moving to the capital and living alone?"

"Why should I be scared? Of course, I will not be scared. Evan, are you so tired of driving that you forget something important?"

"Forget about what!?"

"I have you... why should I be scared?"

Evan’s big smile frames his handsome face. It was a scarce sight to see Evan smiling so wide. Suddenly the idea to prank him came to Rose’s mind.

Rose continued her words, "Or, you intend to ignore me when we arrive in the capital? Y-You... how could you have a thought like that, Evan...." She deliberately made her voice sound miserable.

"W-What? Why did you say that? Of course not...." Evan looks at her with a frown. He was speechless, looking at her face. She smiled widely while her eyes sparkled looking at him. "I will kiss you, Rose, if you tease me like that again.... I meant it!" Evan’s deep voice sounded serious. It makes Rose feel worried.

"Evan, keep your eyes on the street... It’s dangerous!" She was shocked, looking at how serious he was now. This man may have stopped his car and kissed her. She turned her gaze outside the window and tightly shut her mouth. Now, no way Rose would tease him again when he is driving. It’s perilous.

"I will never ignore you, Rose. I promised your mother I would take care of you. If you don’t believe what I promised, let’s go to the married registry office." Evan looked at the digital clock on the dashboard. "We still have time before lunch. I can call someone to prepare for our arrival...."

Rose was dumbfounded hearing his words.

"Can we talk about this when you’re not driving?"

"Fine! I suddenly felt I needed coffee. Let’s stop at the rest area in front before we enter the city...." Evan hit the gas. Finally, this girl wanted to talk about marriage. He felt thrilled. He couldn’t wait to convince her and hoped that this girl would agree with him.

Not long after, they arrive at Moon Coffee Shop.

Rose saw several visitors who filled tables when they entered the Moon Coffee Shop.

"What do you want to drink? Hot or cold?" Evan ushered Rose first to sit by the large glass window facing the street on the corner. He deliberately chose a quiet place to have a decent conversation with her.

"The usual cold...."

"Snacks?"

"Anything!" Rose became relieved when Evan went to order. She tried to think of the correct answer if Evan asked her again about marriage.

"Should I tell him my worry?" She murmurs as her eyes look at the street.

Chapter 84: Yes, I Will

After a few minutes, Rose could see Evan approaching her table through the reflection from the glass window. She looked at him.

"Where is our order?" Rose is surprised to see that Evan is back, and he does not bring anything. "Evan, you need my help?" Rose was worried that Evan had never been to a coffee shop and didn’t know how to order.

"No need. Someone will deliver my order...." He said, then sat opposite her.

Rose starts to wonder, maybe this coffee shop belongs to the Collins group. The waiter, who used to only take orders without serving, suddenly did that.

"Rose..." Evan calls her as he looks her in the eyes. It makes Rose feel slightly nervous hearing how charming his voice calls her name. She tried to avoid his eyes, afraid that she would drown again in the puddle of his deep blue eyes. But, Evan held her hand on the table. She shyly stared at her hand in Evan’s grip.

"Rose, look at me, please. Don’t try to avoid my eyes...." Evan said while smiling. He gently stroked the back of her hand as he continued when he saw Rose’s beautiful hazel eyes look at him. "Now, tell me, what is your answer?"

Evan was very curious about what made this girl seem so worried about taking a more serious step in their relationship.

Rose became utterly nervous. Evan’s touch and his deep gaze made her lose her words, even though she had already arranged what she was about to say to Evan.

"Gosh Rose! Please focus. Focus on what you are going to tell him. Why are you easily swayed!?" Rose scolded herself in her heart.

"Did you forget what I’m asking before?" Evan smiles at her after seeing she is in a daze. "Alright, I will ask you again. Why are you reluctant to register our marriage?"

"I... I..." Rose exhales deeply once again. "E-Evan... I’m worried."

"Worried? Worry about what?" Evan raises his brow, confused to hear her words. "Can you tell me more clearly? So I can help you...."

Rose, who was nervous, tried to keep her calm before saying, "Evan, I’m really worried. What if your family will never accept me? You know my family, right? I grow up without my father and my mother is only an adopted child."

Rose finally said what worried her all this time. The distance between Evan and her family is like the earth and the moon. "Well, till now, you never introduced me to your family..." Rose finally lifted her head, looking into his eyes. "You never told me about your family. Evan, I don’t know what your family is like, but for me, getting married it’s no joke. At least our parents know and give us their blessing."

"So you’re worried about this?" Rose nods quickly. "So, if I introduce you to my parents. Are you willing to marry me right away?" Rose nodded again. But a few seconds later she felt something wasn’t right. This man will do something to twist her words. But now, it’s too late. Evan’s last sentence trapped her.

"Fine, tomorrow I will bring you to meet my mother..." Evan smiled happily, seeing his lover nod in agreement. He just needs to introduce his parents, so this girl will agree to register their marriage. He will do that soon, so he can keep this girl forever.

Before Rose wanted to correct him, a female waiter came to bring their order. Her mind was distracted when she saw the iced coffee. She quickly drank it to cool down her burning mind. Her mind didn’t stop thinking about what would happen to her after meeting Evan’s family. Her heart skipped a beat at the thought of meeting the Collins family.

What was their reaction when they met her?

Rose was really nervous and, at the same time, worried.

She glanced at Evan, seeing his calm face. Then, he smiled widely, and Rose saw a determination in his beautiful eyes.

Now, she became a little confused. How sure is Evan that his parents will immediately approve of their relationship? Why does he look so calm?

"Rose, you can’t delay any longer. Once we get my parents’ blessing, we’ll register our marriage...."

Soon, Rose and Evan were back on the road and continued their journey to the capital the rest of the way without stopping.

Evan could only smile hearing Rose’s words. He purposely didn’t tell her apartment address to surprise her.

Not hearing his response, Rose was worried that he was exhausted, "Evan, you look tired. I can drive...."

Evan turned his gaze and smiled at Rose. "You underestimated your future husband, Rose! Driving 3 hours for me is normal. Even if you want to go to the southern province, I will drive you there. It’s not a big deal for me...."

Then her eyes looked at the building beside Starlight. She was stunned when she read the Fortune Tower sign. This building is for an office. Many foreign companies, like Apple, Google, and many other companies, rent an office in this building for their branch office in this country.

Not only that, across the street, there is Mogul Mega Mall, the largest luxury mall in this city. Next to Mogul Mall, there is Dream Inc Building. She remembered she had met Marvin Sanders, the CEO of Dream Inc, at Evan’s house a few weeks ago. She feels excited. Will they meet again later?
