Ch. 86..90: Rebirth_ Dancing In My Destiny Chapter 86-90
Chapter 86: Please Have Mercy For My Wallet
"R-Really?" Rose still didn’t believe it when she saw Evan nod. Even though the owner doesn’t need money, the apartment can’t be free, right? "How much?" Rose continues.
"Same with your budget..." Evan said as he helped Rose unbuckle her seat belt.
Rose was silent.
"Are you sure?" She asked.
"Yes. Let’s go. Let’s see your unit..." He avoided her question as he got out of the car. Rose followed him toward the elevator while she heard Evan explain about her unit.
"Your apartment is on the twentieth floor. Each floor has only two units with private elevators, and 4 car parks are provided for each unit. Your apartment is fully furnished, so you don’t need to buy anything else...." Evan glanced at Rose beside him. He smiled happily because his girlfriend wasn’t sulking anymore. Her expression looked calm.
Evan holds her hand as they exit the elevator.
When they exited, Rose was confused when she saw that two doors were facing each other. "Evan, you said the elevator was private? Why are there two doors?"
Evan was shocked and scolded himself for misinforming Rose. Only the twentieth floor is deliberately renovated. So that he can share the elevator with his girlfriend, he lives right before her unit.
"Ah, sorry I forgot to tell you, Rose... only this floor, the elevator, is not private. No problem, right?" Evan casually said as he quickly entered the password on the door. "Rose, the password for this door is the same as my birthday."
Rose, who was still in a daze, didn’t hear Evan’s words.
"Rose... What are you thinking? I called you many times." Evan held her chin to make her look at him. "Are you afraid to live alone?" Or are you afraid that I will eat you? He can’t say his last words or his pretty girl will run away. He couldn’t help but smile at the nervous look in her eyes.
Rose was nervous, looking at his seductive eyes.
"Y-You think I’m a kid?" Rose rolls her eyes while gently removing Evan’s hand from her chin. She can’t let this man shake her heart again. Not this time. She still had to look inside her apartment first. She had a lot to do.
This apartment is only her temporary place to stay. Next year, she plans to buy a house for her mother if she has enough money. She wanted to live with her mother for a few months before marrying Evan.
She doubts Evan will marry her this year. Won’t it be that easy for him to get the blessing of his father and mother, right?
"Come, let me show you your apartment. I hope you like it...." Evan said.
Rose was speechless when she went inside. She saw how spacious this apartment was. And what’s even weirder is that all the furniture in this apartment feels new.
Earlier, Evan said this apartment belonged to a friend who had moved to another country. However, there was no trace of anyone living in that place before.
"Do you like this place?" Evan places his hand on her shoulder as they walk to the enormous living area that blends into the dining room and modern kitchen in one place. This interior concept suits her, who likes open spaces.
"I like the open concept, modern and simple interior. But, what I like the most is the view... this stunning Evan!"
Rose walked to the gigantic glass and saw the view. She can see the road in front of the apartment building, and on the right side, she can see the blue river. There’s a huge park by the river. And a golf course. Seeing the scenery during the day is already as beautiful as this, how about at night?
"Yes, you are right! The view is stunning. That’s why I immediately chose this unit for you...." Evan smiles in pride because his girl likes this place.
"Evan, there is a golf course below. Can we play there?" Rose also can see the running track. She can do many outdoor activities in private places. She heard Evan earlier say, SKYPARK could be accessed by the apartment residents surrounding the golf course and park. Rose starts to like the apartment and its area very much.
"Do you know how to play Golf?" Evan is surprised to know Rose is interested in golf. Rose instantly scolds herself for speaking too much. In this life, she never played golf, but she learned to hit the ball at the golf driving course near her house in her previous life.
"I’m not. But I love to try, and golf seems like a fun activity..." She casually said as she started to explore other areas. She saw there were 3 doors at the other end.
"There are three bedrooms?" Rose asked Evan who was following her.
"Two. Master and guest room, your mom can sleep there if she comes here. The door over there, your home office."
"Wow! I got a home office?" Rose was excited.
"Of course!"
"Evan, how about Wilson Group? Is it far from here?" She suddenly remembered Evan was also the one she asked to find an office for Wilson Group.
"So close. Did you read the office address I gave you a few days ago?" He asked.
Rose shook her head. Evan did give it to her, but she didn’t remember it.
"Well, your office is in the building beside...."
Rose thought for a moment remembering what buildings were next to the Starlight apartment.
After a while, she froze. Evan rents an office for Wilson group at Fortune Tower? Has he gone mad? How could he spend so much money to rent her office there?
"Evan! That’s a great place and prestigious." Rose smiles awkwardly. "But, could you please have mercy for my poor wallet? I will be penniless in an instant to rent an office at that place. And, how could I afford to pay for my meal if I spend a lot of money only on my office?" Rose couldn’t help but bitterly smile as she looked at him.
Chapter 87: Are You Related to The Collins Group?
Evan felt amused looking at Rose.
"Hahaha... Rose, now I understand why aunty Molly said you are talented to be an actress."
"Huh!? Why did you say such words? I’m serious here, Evan. I’m penniless because of this apartment rent. Now I have to spend more on my office rent...."
"You will not be penniless, Rose." Evan chuckled. "You have me. I’m willing to be your sugar daddy if you want...." He turned his gaze to look at her.
"WHAT!? Evan, you also know about sugar daddies?" Rose couldn’t believe a guy such as Evan knew about that. "Did you read a nasty gossip on the internet too?"
"Of Course not! But, I heard Gavin gossip about someone with Sam...." Evan cleared his throat as he turned to look at the scenery outside.
Later...
Rose walked to check her bedroom. Again she was stunned. The room looks so luxurious. And the bed. It is vast with pink bedding and a few fresh flowers in the corner. She also sees the two suitcases that she brought from her house are already near the bed.
Her face felt hot as she imagined making out with Evan in that bed! Feeling shocked by her sultry thought, she slowly looks at Evan. He now stands so close beside her with his eyes looking at her bed. She immediately pushes him out of the bedroom and slammed the door behind her.
"Why? Don’t you like your bedroom interior? Too girly?" Evan asked worriedly. Rose immediately shook her head.
She likes it, but she can’t control her steamy mind. She can’t be alone with Evan in her bedroom, afraid something might happen to them. Gosh!
"I like it. But this is past lunchtime Evan. I feel so hungry...."
Evan frowned, looking at Rose. Didn’t they eat at the cafe an hour ago? Is she hungry again?
"What do you want to eat? Let’s go eat outside...."
"Anything..." Rose is still busy calming her mind after imagining she sleeps on her bed with Evan.
Damn you, my sultry thoughts! How could you imagine such a thing? Rose could only scold her mind quietly.
*****
Mogul Mega Mall.
Mogul Mega Mall is the second-largest Mall in the capital city. It was built in the heart of the capital city on the business street opposite the Skypark. It is located not far from the city hall. Many famous fashion brands that enter this country only open their shops in this Mall. Not only fashion but luxury restaurants from Europe and America also opened their branches exclusively in this Mall.
This Mall is a place for celebrities and wealthy people in this country to shop and hang out. Even though Mogul Mega Mall just opened last year, they have been so successful. Until Mogul Mega Mall can compete with the oldest and grandest Mall in the city, Collins Plaza.
This Mall is so big but it is always lively with visitors. Because this Mall is connected to a five-star hotel and two apartment towers belonging to the giant company Dream Inc.
Rumor has it that this company, Dream Inc, is owned by foreigners who invest in this country. Some say it belongs to a local businessman with a low profile personality. So far, the owner has not been identified by the public yet.
"This Mogul Mega Mall is so huge..." Rose looked at the 7-story Mall in front of her. "I think I can get lost if I come here alone... And one day is not enough to explore this huge Mall."
"Hahaha... I know when you’re exaggerating, Rose. This is the second biggest Mall. Collins Plaza is bigger than this.." Evan laughed as he held Rose’s hand and entered the Mall.
Rose was stunned. Indeed she forgot there’s Collins Plaza. In her previous life, she visited that plaza a few times. Because the Collin Plaza location is not far from her house. Only 30 minutes drive.
"Evan... are you related to the Collins Group?" Rose felt like she wanted to test him.
Evan stops her step looking at Rose beside her. He was surprised to hear her question. Did this girl already guess his true identity?
"Why do you think that way, Rose?" He saw her sparkling hazel eyes staring at him.
Evan can’t tell her the truth. This is not the right time. He will say to her after he introduces her to his mother. Afraid this girl will freak out if she knows about his identity as Collins group’s only son. She may break their relationship.
He can’t imagine it happening. He wanted Rose to meet his mother first and make her believe that his family loved her. So she doesn’t need to feel insecure or afraid.
"Because your last name..." Rose chuckled. "Did I guess right or not?"
"If I said yes. Would you believe it?" He smiled and walked again. Rose follows his steady step.
"Hahaha, are you kidding me, Evan?" She will just follow his play. She continued, "If you are the heirs of Collins Group... you will not fall in love with me. You may find a rich and beautiful girl, right?"
Evan’s mouth twitched.
"Not right, Rose!" Evan wanted to reply to her like that, but he remained silent. It’s not the right time to tell her the truth. He could only follow her laugh, unable to reply to her question.
The cold breeze from Mogul Mega Mall slaps Rose’s body when they enter inside. The heat she felt when walking five minutes from her apartment to the Mall was instantly replaced by cool air streams.
She was amazed once again when she entered The Mogul Mega Mall. Her eyes were immediately greeted with a 3-story-high artificial waterfall. It looked so stunning.
The Mall’s interior is luxurious, with lots of gold ornaments and gems. It reminds her of the biggest Mall in Dubai, the Dubai Mall that she’s seen on TV recently. It is said that the Mall is the largest in the world and is very luxurious. At this Mogul Mega Mall, she saw a similarity to Dubai Mall. Maybe the only difference is the size.
Chapter 88: Does He Have a First Crush Too?
Soon they arrive at the Steak House restaurant, which is on the top floor of the Mogul Mega Mall.
A middle-aged manager in a black suit approaches them. In a hurry, he greeted them respectfully. And lead them to the VIP room #111 right at the end of the room.
Rose wasn’t surprised anymore. Like a typical luxury restaurant, there is always a VIP room for customers who want more privacy to eat and talk. In this restaurant, they also have a few VIP rooms.
They enter the room. Rose already thought the view from the VIP room would lead to the sight of Blue River, the same as in her apartment.
She looked at her surroundings. This VIP restaurant is not so big. There is only 1 long wooden table that can fit 10 people to eat. And on the ceiling, modern decorative lights are hanging beautifully above the table. There is also a seating area sofa set and a private toilet.
Rose deliberately chose to sit on a chair with a blue river view. Every now and then, she nodded when Evan asked her about the food he should order.
"Are you sure you don’t want a dessert?" Evan asks.
"No. Steak is enough for me... I eat a lot at Moon cafe. I’m still full, so probably I will skip dinner tonight...." Rose replies, then she looks again at the view below. Still mesmerized by how pretty the Blue River is. She plans to go there for a morning run or just stroll in the afternoon with Evan.
Evan frowned, looking at his girl opposite. Didn’t she just say she was ravenously hungry? That’s why she asked to go to lunch?
"That’s all our order... I will tell you if we need anything. Thanks!" Evan said to the manager.
When Evan saw the manager close the VIP door, he looked at Rose again. "What are you thinking, Rose? You look so immersed looking at the park below."
"Evan, I think I want to do physical training and learn martial arts...."
"What!? You want to learn martial arts?" Evan couldn’t believe what he had just heard.
She is undoubtedly kidding, right? But, when he saw Rose nod at that moment, he knew this girl was serious.
"Rose, do you know it’s not easy if you study martial arts at this age?"
"Huh!? Is there any difference?"
Evan chuckled, looking at her innocent-looking eyes, "Beyond any doubt, dear, YES! There are a lot of differences."
Rose frowns. Isn’t it the same? Where is the difference?
"Well, It will be more difficult if you learn at your age now than if you studied since childhood. Your bones aren’t as flexible as to when you were young... you’ll be in a lot of pain, Rose, and I’m not sure you can endure the pain that will occur in training."
How could this delicate and small girl want to learn martial arts now? Evan couldn’t bear to see her in pain.
"Hahaha, I wonder what the difference is. Evan, don’t worry. I’m the type of person; when I want something, I’ll fight until I get it...." Rose said proudly.
After seeing Evan laugh, Rose continued. "I promise you, this time I really want to learn martial arts. At least, I have to master basic self-defense techniques...." Rose said with a meaningful tone.
She didn’t want the kidnapping incident a few weeks ago to happen to her again. But, just in case, she intended to learn self-defense to protect herself if Sam and Evan weren’t by her side.
Evan, stunned, heard her sentence. The kidnapping attempt by the White Skull gangster left a deep mark on his lover’s mind. He clenched his hand into an angry fist when he remembered the incident.
Rose surely needs to learn the basics of how to protect herself. But... Can’t he bear to see her in pain?
He threw away his anxious thoughts and nodded in agreement with what she wanted.
"Evan, can you teach me?"
"Sure! Well, without you asking, I will teach you...." Evan would train her slowly so it wouldn’t hurt her too much.
"Yay! Thank you, Evan... I wish I could be stronger. So, no one will dare to bully me. I will just whack them all with my flying kicks if they mess with me...." Rose laughed as she couldn’t hide her excitement to start to learn new things.
Evan almost choked hearing her words.
"R-Rose... even if you can defend yourself, you should not use it carelessly. You can use your martial arts only to protect yourself when necessary." Evan feels worried his girlfriend will brag to all people. Sigh!
He continued, "And, never show it to people if you have mastered martial arts. To keep your enemies out there off guard...." Rose nodded in agreement. Evan was right. She shouldn’t show off if she can do martial arts.
It wasn’t long before their steak and drinks were delivered by several waiters. The dish’s visuals make her tempted. Instantly she forgot that she was still full at this time. Slowly she sliced the tenderloin medium rare in front of her while her beaming eyes focused on the meat.
"How could you look so cute when you are mesmerized by your food, Rose?" Evan murmurs. Rose didn’t hear him as she was too immersed in eating her steak. But a few seconds later, Evan takes her plate.
She was stunned. "W-Why you take my steak?"
"Eat this one...." Evan placed the plate of steak that had been cut into pieces. "Eat a lot. You need more protein. So that you can exercise strongly later...."
Rose was touched by his sweet gesture. This man knows how to make a woman flatter, huh!? Has he ever dated before? She wonders.
She knows Evan doesn’t have a girlfriend during college. But she never knew Evan’s story in high school.
Does he have a first crush too? He must have, right? There’s no way someone as handsome and intelligent as Evan doesn’t have a girlfriend.
Just thinking this man has a girlfriend in his high school makes Rose feel her heartache slightly. Now, her mind began to guess what type of woman he liked? Is it someone like her or the opposite?
Chapter 89: Sorry, Rose!
Rose stole a glance at Evan. She saw him almost finish his meal and at the same time, his phone rang.
"Excuse me, Rose, I have to take this call...."
Rose nodded as she continued to eat her meal. Sometimes she looks at Evan. He was standing at the end of the room receiving a call. She couldn’t hear what Evan was talking about. But, from his tone and the expression on his face, it looked like he was annoyed. As if someone was challenging him. She was slightly surprised as she had never seen his angry expression like this before.
Did something happen in his office? Worried, Evan has to go somewhere. She quickly finished her lunch.
"Have you finished your meal?" Evan came back and sat back in his seat.
"Hmm, yeah, I just finished my meal. Something seems to be bothering you. Is there a problem at your work?" Rose couldn’t hide her worries.
"Not a big problem. But I have to go to Vale City right now. Do you mind if we go home now? We can explore this place next time..." Evan felt sorry that he had to cancel his plan to take Rose shopping at this mall.
But someone in Vale City asked for a beating. His people are not working to his expectations with one of his company projects, which now gives him a headache. He doesn’t have a choice. He must fly there and take a look.
"Sure! Let’s go." Rose stood from her chair before she continued, "I also feel today is not the right time for me to explore this mall. I still have a lot of work to do at home. I haven’t even unpacked my baggage...."
"Sorry, Rose, tonight I might not be able to accompany you to dinner as well...." Evan was really pissed off. On the first night his lover arrived in the capital, he had to fly out of town. If only this matter was not urgent, he would not have left her.
"Evan, look at me. It’s okay. I’ve told you before... I’m going to skip dinner. After unpacking, I’m going to bed early. Last night I slept for only three hours. I talked to mom until dawn...." Rose playfully laughed as she prepared to leave the VIP room. However, before going out, she excused herself to the toilet.
Evan stood in front of the VIP room, waiting for Rose while reading something on his cellphone.
"B-Brother Evan!?" A young girl with shoulder-length hair approached Evan.
Evan heard a female voice call out his name. Quickly he turned to look and was surprised to see Keira Spencer wearing a black dress with full makeup. Looked like she just came back from a party.
"Oh my gosh! Brother Evan, you eat here too? If I had known you’re eating here, I would have joined you...." Keira giggled as she gently patted Evan’s shoulder.
"Kei, what a surprise. What are you doing here?" Evan asked as he put his cellphone in his pants pocket. A faint smile framed his surprised face. Looking at this little girl, Keira suddenly appeared in this place.
"Of course, I’m here for lunch. Hahaha... Do you think I’m here to study?" Keira laughed amused at Evan’s question.
"Brother Evan, let’s find a coffee shop to chat. I haven’t seen you in a few months. I really missed you!" She said as she put her hand on Evan’s arm.
"Not this time, Kei. I really need to go somewhere in a hurry. Besides, did you forget your friends? See..." Evan gives her a sign to look back before he continues, "Your friends are waiting for you!" Evan let go of Keira’s hand and took a step back to make a distance from her.
"Wow! Brother Evan, you rejected me?" Keira Spencer looked disappointed. But after seeing Evan not saying anything, she smiled again before continuing her words. "Alright... Alright... But you have to promise me you will come to my birthday party?" Keira Spencer looked Evan in the eyes, waiting for his confirmation.
"I will...try to make time! You know me...always busy."
"No! Unacceptable. You have to promise you will come. Period."
"Fine! Now GO...GO...your friends are waiting for you." Evan waved his hand frequently and quickly, not hiding that he didn’t have time for chit-chat.
Seeing how expressive Evan is in telling her to go away, the girl runs toward her pack. Evan smiled slightly, looking at the girl running after her friends.
Evan was still smiling when he saw Keira and her friends walk away. At the same time Rose, standing not far from Evan, was shocked by what she saw.
Evan smiled at a pretty young girl? And he looked so friendly chatting with the beautiful girl in a black dress?
Rose feels wary.
The girl looks so stunning with such a classy aura. Just looking at the small bag with the H logo that the girl was carrying, Rose could guess that the girl was from the same social and wealth class as Evan. That branded bag is so expensive. She can’t afford it. Even if she had a lot of money, she couldn’t bear to spend it to buy such an expensive bag.
Who is the girl in a black dress? Why does Evan look so gentle toward her?
Instantly Rose felt a stir in her heart. Likewise, her mind began to be filled with absurd questions that slightly spun her head.
"Hey Rose, why are you just standing there? Shall we go now?" Evan’s voice made Rose come back from her own thoughts.
She immediately nodded and followed Evan out of the restaurant.
"What are you thinking? Why are you mute since we left the restaurant?" Evan could feel something bothering his girl. Her sudden silence is unusual. This girl is always excited when she sees an interesting thing. Like when she crosses the clothing store that she fancy.
"Nothing! I’m still in awe of this mall...." Rose answered casually.
Chapter 90: The Girl I Know
She followed Evan’s walk to the elevator. Somehow, Rose feels blessed for using her sneakers. If she had worn high heels to enter this vast mall, she might have given up using her heels halfway through the mall and walked barefoot before she got home.
"You can’t lie to me, Rose...." Evan took her hand and squeezed it gently. "I can see from your forehead that you’re thinking about something. Did you feel sad because we can’t look around?"
Rose was taken aback at his words. Evan totally could read her mood. Indeed she was a little disappointed. But, she also felt that it was not something to fuss about.
"You guess wrong, Evan." She chuckled. "I told you I have to unpack...."
"Haha, fine! Rose, I promise you, we will come here again tomorrow...."
"No need to hurry. I’m not staying here for a few days. I have plenty of time to come here again..." Rose smiled to re-assured him. But something else has occupied her mind. Her mind was busy guessing the girl’s identity who was chatting with Evan. Also, trying to imagine Evan’s reasons for avoiding introducing the girl to her.
Evan’s gesture toward the girl in a black dress was very different from what she was used to seeing on campus. He always put on a straight face when a woman approached him. The girl must be someone he knew so well.
Who is she? His high school friend? Thinking about high school, Rose instantly felt her heart tighten at the thought that the girl was Evan’s first crush.
Rose looked at Evan who smiled at her, it made her heart feel a little softer. She smiled back at him and walked out of the mall.
Evan smiled because Rose was so understanding. In his mind, he promises himself to make sure something like this doesn’t happen again. He didn’t want to make her sad, especially the first time she lived apart from her mother.
As they cross the business street, Rose can’t hold it anymore. She must ask him about the girl’s identity. Or her mind will be filled with questions beginning with; WHO?
When they walk toward Starlight Apartment, she musters the courage to ask him.
"Evan, may I ask you something?"
Evan stopped walking and looked at Rose, who stopped behind him.
"Sure, what is it?" He asked as he stared at her light brown eyes. He was stunned. Why did her eyes look restless? Was something bothering her?
"Evan, sorry if I ask you this...." Rose felt ashamed to ask him about the girl. She felt worried Evan would think she was a jealous woman. But, If she didn’t clear this up, tonight’s needed sleep would be ruined. Because her brain would never stop thinking about it. So, for her own good, she must ask him.
Evan feels tense looking at how worried this girl is. "Just say it, Rose..."
"Mhm... earlier at the restaurant, I saw you talking to a girl. May I know who she is?" Rose finally spit out what she really wanted to ask. Her heart was beating wildly, worried Evan’s answer would upset her or make her more jealous.
Evan was surprised to hear her question.
"You saw her?" Rose nods, her eyes flashing with curiosity. Evan smiled as he took her hand. "She is the girl I know. No need to know her. She is not important. Let’s go...." He continued to walk towards the Starlight Apartment main entrance.
Rose was utterly confused by his answer. ’The Girl he Knows....’ What does this mean? Is she his ex? His Crush? Female friend or family? Why did he answer her with ambiguous words like that?
Instead of getting the answer she wanted, Rose’s mind just grew more confused.
"Hurry up, Rose..." Evan said without looking back.
Rose ran slightly, following Evan, who had entered the building.
"Evan, no need to take me upstairs...." Rose finally stood beside him, waiting for the elevator.
"Are you sure?"
"Yes. Looks like you’re already late... go hurry. Don’t forget to call me when you arrive at your destination."
"Alright! Be good here. I will come back tomorrow at noon...." He pulled her into his embrace and kissed her head.
"E-Evan, we are in a public space...." Rose pushed him.
Evan smiles, looking at her girl’s blushing cheeks. He waves his hand once again before he walks fast to the entrance.
Before the elevator door closed, Rose saw Evan climb into a black SUV parked in the building’s lobby. Her wide smile that framed her delicate face slowly disappeared.
For the first time, she felt so jealous of someone. Whoever that girl is, she hopes she will never encounter her or lose her cool towards Evan. She didn’t want to be a jealous girlfriend in Evan’s eyes.
****
Next Morning.
Rose wakes up when she hears her door ring a few times. With half-opened eyes, she glanced at the digital clock on the side of the bed. Instantly she felt annoyed! It Is only six o’clock, and someone is coming to her house!
She quickly got out of her bed and walked to the window to open the curtains, and suddenly a bright light illuminated her room. Her eyes feel stung by the dazzling sun entering through the window.
The bell outside rings again, and it makes her annoyed. In a hurry, she walked toward the main door.
"W-H-O?" She shouted with her hoarse voice, too afraid to open her house door.
Only Evan and Sam know her house. And this person can’t be Evan, right? Because Evan is currently in Vale City.
Meanwhile, Sam... she told him to meet in the lobby, 4 hours from now. It couldn’t be Sam unless he asked for a beating to wake her up so early.
Who is the person who wakes her up? Is it the next-door neighbor? She thought.
"Rose, It’s me..." Rose was shocked to hear that familiar voice. Her heart raced as she opened the door. She couldn’t help but smile happily as their eyes met.
