Chapter 6 What A Fickle Woman

“Mr. Jenkins, whatever do you mean?” Gabrielle asked through gritted teeth.

As if he hadn’t heard her, Corbin headed straight to Eliana and smiled gently at her.

Eliana looked at him in bewilderment. ‘Does he know me?’

Instead of explaining himself, Corbin sighed and turned to look at Gabrielle sympathetically. “Miss Aston, it seems that your ability to comprehend is lacking.”

Gabrielle’s face was burning from the humiliation, but she didn’t dare to retort to the CEO’s assistant.

“Let me say it again. Eliana isn’t leaving our company,” Corbin stated in a kind but firm tone. “It’s what Mr. Moran wants.”

As soon as he mentioned their CEO, everyone’s eyes suddenly shifted to Eliana.

A shiver ran down Eliana’s spine.

Gabrielle couldn’t take it anymore and exploded. “Impossible! This bitch— She offended an important client on her first day of work. Why the hell would Mr. Moran want to keep her in the company?”

Corbin’s expression darkened instantly. “Are you questioning Mr. Moran’s decision?”

Gabrielle immediately shrank back and forced a smile. “Oh, I didn’t mean that. It’s just that Mr. Blake—”

“Solve that problem yourself.” Corbin ended the conversation right then and there.

Eliana chuckled to herself, secretly elated.

That Gabrielle was way too arrogant. It was great that someone had finally taught her a lesson.

But a question nagged at her. Why did Mr. Moran help her?

It didn’t occur to her that she had met the man the night before.

“Eliana, I’m so sorry. It was all just a misunderstanding.” All of a sudden, Gabrielle grabbed Eliana’s hand and looked at her apologetically.

Eliana got goose bumps. What a fickle woman!

Disgusted, Eliana shook off her hand with a look of disdain.

Gabrielle was unfazed. She smiled and explained hurriedly, “I just needed to go to the bathroom last night. I didn’t expect Mr. Blake to misunderstand the situation. It’s all my fault. How about this? I’ll invite Mr. Blake to dinner sometime. That way, you two can solve the misunderstanding and the company’s project will be pushed along smoothly.”

Eliana sneered with disdain. “Miss Aston, you really know when to hold your head high and when to eat your humble pie.”

Gabrielle nearly lost her temper again, but when she saw Corbin’s dark expression, she suppressed her anger. “If this project is a success, you’ll get a commission,” she hissed at Eliana in a low voice.

Upon hearing that, the corners of Eliana’s mouth twitched. A commission? Gabrielle didn’t mention any commission earlier.

Seeing Eliana’s hesitant expression, Gabrielle gritted her teeth and whispered, “Fine! You can get two- thirds of the profit.”

“Deal!”

Eliana smiled happily. How could she say no to money?

However, Gabrielle’s plan didn’t go smoothly. The following day, Eliana didn’t get any word regarding the dinner.

It was time to get off work, so Eliana turned off her computer and packed up her things.

“Eliana!” She was on her way out when Gabrielle caught up with her. Her high heels clacked against the marble floors so loudly that it sounded as if she was going to stomp on anyone who crossed her path.

Eliana turned around to the sound of her name and met Gabrielle’s gloomy face. “Miss Aston, have you made an appointment with Mr. Blake yet?”

“No! Mr. Blake was so angry that he refused to meet with us.” Gabrielle gave Eliana a murderous look and shoved a piece of pap

er into her hand. “This is the hotel he’s staying in, so we have no choice but to wait for him in the lobby. You can go ahead. I’ll follow after a meeting. Don’t fuck it up this time!”

Without waiting for a response, Gabrielle turned around and rushed to the conference room.

Eliana unfolded the note and looked at it warily. Could this be yet another trap?

After mulling over the idea for a while, she finally relented and decided to hail a taxi.

After all, she just needed to wait in the lobby. It wasn’t as though Mr. Blake could assault her in public.

In the Aldbourne Hotel.

As soon as Eliana entered the hotel, her eyes immediately landed on a conspicuous sight in the corner of the hall.

Outside the hotel cafe, three brawny men stood with their hands behind their backs, their strong arms riddled with tattoos. Their leader was wearing a big gold chain around his neck. He stared fiercely at the cafe with a murderous look on his face.

Everyone who passed by made no mistake and detoured around the three fierce-looking men.

Eliana was also terrified. She instinctively turned around to leave, but something caught her attention.

In the cafe, there was a man in a dark suit. His collar was unbuttoned, exposing his defined clavicle. His temperament was cold and distant, but there was a certain kind of sexiness about him. The elegant woman in front of him couldn’t take her eyes off him. She furtively reached forward and held his hand.

‘What the—?! What a coincidence! Who would’ve thought I’d run into the most popular male prostitute here? And he’s greeting a guest, too!’

Eliana’s face was flushed with embarrassment. However, she soon realized that something was off.

Were the three strong men outside just staring at those two people?

“Here’s all the information you wanted.” The woman stuffed a thumb drive in Maurice’s hand respectfully.

“Thank you.” Maurice took the thumb drive and plugged it into his tablet. A photo popped up on the screen. He pointed at the person in the photo and said, “There’s something off about this person. Keep an eye on her.”

The woman leaned forward to look at the screen, her plump breasts pressing against the table. She was so close to the man.

Eliana felt very awkward watching this scene. She turned her head slightly and noticed that the strong men outside the cafe were reacting more strongly than her.

The leader’s fists were clenched, his eyes as wide as saucers, and his lips were pursed tightly, as if he was going to explode from anger.

Eliana studied him curiously.

Finally, she understood the situation.

The woman sitting opposite the male prostitute was a married woman. She was about to have an affair. And the three men outside were here to catch her in the act!

‘Poor guy. These men are going to beat him to a pulp.’

Before Eliana knew what she was doing, she had taken a few steps toward the cafe.

But then she stopped abruptly in her tracks. The male prostitute had wrecked her life before. Why would she poke her nose into his business now?

Just then, her phone started to ring. It was Gabrielle.

“The meeting just finished,” she uttered. “I’ll head there right now. Have you seen Mr. Blake yet?”

“Not yet, I…” Just as Eliana turned around to leave, she noticed that the leader of the three men slowly approached the cafe, his hand reaching for something at his waist.

‘What the—? Is that a gun?’

Chapter 7 Excellent Acting Skills

Panic-stricken, Eliana stood frozen to her spot.

The strong man in the lead had pulled out a gun to confront his cheating wife!

‘Oh, my God! The male prostitute is doomed for sure!’

In a trance, Eliana thought about her twins. They had taken after that man. He was, after all, the father of her children.

Even if she despised him for all the suffering he had caused her, she couldn’t just stand by and watch him get killed!

No way! She wasn’t going to just let this happen!

“Eliana? Eliana! I’m talking to you!”

The harsh voice from the phone drew Eliana back to reality. Without responding, she hung up the phone and rushed inside the cafe ahead of the strong man.

She threw herself into Maurice’s arms and started wailing, “I love you so much! How dare you date another woman?”

Maurice was obviously taken aback. Bewildered, he looked at Eliana, who had tears in her eyes. Squinting at her, he asked coldly, “What the hell do you think you’re doing?”

Lowering her head, Eliana touched her belly dramatically and said, “I’m here to tell you that I’m pregnant with your child.”

All of a sudden, all eyes were on them.

“He got a woman pregnant, yet he has the audacity to date another woman. What a jerk!” one of the customers in the cafe commented with disdain.

Another one chimed in, “You know what they say about how a handsome man can’t be trusted.”

Maurice looked around at the pairs of eyes staring at him and was speechless.

What was this crazy woman up to? Their affair happened five years ago. How on earth could she have possibly gotten pregnant only now?

His face turned gloomy but his tone remained bone-chillingly cold. “Get away from me.”

“Never! Honey, I’m not feeling well. Can you take me home?” Eliana looked at him pleadingly, slipping her arms around his waist.

Maurice suddenly felt the warmth of her arms around him. He lowered his head to look at her and found that there were tears in her eyes, which made his heart skip a beat.

The woman sitting opposite Maurice was also stunned.

She had worked for Maurice for years, but this was her first time to see someone treat him like this. Moreover, this was her first time to see Maurice suppress his anger over something so ridiculous.

“Mr—”

As soon as the woman started to speak, Maurice shot her a warning look.

The woman immediately understood and stood up to leave.

Eliana watched the woman walk out of the cafe and heaved a sigh of relief. As she turned her head to face Maurice, the tip of her nose brushed against his soft cheek.

Flustered, she immediately stepped back, trying to distance herself from him.

Maurice pinched her waist meaningfully and held her in his arms. With a faint smile, he parted his thin lips and asked, “Honey, where are you

going? Don’t be shy.”

Her eyes fell on his sexy lips. She was at a loss for words. “Shy? What…what’re you talking about? I was just…”

Maurice calmly raised his eyebrows, waiting for her to explain.

But for whatever reason, Eliana couldn’t conjure up an excuse. She just wanted to turn around and escape, but when she did turn around, she suddenly gasped in fear.

The three brawny men had entered the cafe regardless of the woman leaving. They stood side by side, blocking the path to the main door like a brick wall.

“Run!”

Trembling with fear, she mustered all of her strength and yanked Maurice out of his chair. Together, they ran out the back exit of the cafe.

As Eliana was dragging him away, Maurice looked at the back of her head in confusion. “Why are we running?”

However, before Eliana could answer, she saw Antwan storming towards her.

“You! How dare you come here!” Antwan raised his double chin and sneered at her with disdain.

It was definitely too late to apologize to him now!

However, maybe if she was willing to throw herself at him, he could forgive her and the project could move forward!

Sure enough, Antwan’s lustful eyes were already sweeping over her body. ‘Tsk tsk! This woman must be good in bed,’ he thought to himself.

His hands suddenly took on a life of their own and reached out to hold her waist.

Startled, Eliana retreated quickly to avoid his advances.

Seeing this, Maurice clicked his tongue in disgust and kicked Antwan away mercilessly.

“Ah!”

A scream echoed in the air.

Antwan lay on the ground, curled in a ball, howling in pain.

Eliana looked at Maurice with her jaw dropping. It looked as though this man was really good at fighting.

“You’re welcome,” Maurice said sardonically. His face was expressionless and his eyes were still cold as ice.

Glancing at the fat man writhing on the ground, Eliana suddenly remembered why she had come to the Aldbourne Hotel in the first place.

Damn it! She screwed things up again.

However, before she could reflect on her actions, she saw that the three strong men were coming up to them.

She hurriedly grabbed Maurice’s hand and ran away.

Not knowing how far she had run, Eliana saw there were fewer and fewer people around her. She stopped and gasped for breath. “They… they didn’t catch up with us, did they?”

Maurice stared at her and gestured behind him. “No one is following us.”

Seeing his gesture, the three brawny men immediately stopped and hid in a corner.

Looking back at the empty street, Eliana breathed a sigh of relief and finally let go of Maurice’s hand.

Unexpectedly, Maurice reached for her hand and gently pulled her into his arms. He then raised her chin with one hand and looked into her clear, uneasy eyes.

Chapter 8 A Valuable Ring

“What trick are you trying to play?”

Maurice bent over and whispered in Eliana’s ear. The feeling of his hot breath on her skin made her tremble.

“Don’t touch me.” Eliana struggled uncomfortably. “I saved you from the hands of a rich woman’s husband. Are you going to repay my kindness with ingratitude?”

‘A rich woman’s husband?’

Maurice didn’t know whether he should laugh or cry.

She still thought that he was a male prostitute…

Was she pretending or was she truly confused?

He couldn’t tell what she was thinking.

While he was distracted, Eliana pulled herself free of his grasp. She raised her eyebrows. “You’re still young, so you’d better find a decent job,” she said fiercely. “Prostitution isn’t a permanent solution.”

Maurice was speechless.

The silence was broken by Eliana’s phone ringing.

Eliana gave him a warning glare and stepped aside to answer the call.

“Eliana! How dare you?! How dare you hit Mr. Blake?” Gabrielle roared.

Eliana placed a hand on her forehead and explained, “It wasn’t me…”

Strictly speaking, she hadn’t done anything to Antwan.

“I was going to ask for a settlement, but you screwed it up completely!” Gabrielle interrupted in a sharp voice. “As for the cost of losing this project and paying Mr. Blake’s medical fees, you will be responsible for both!”

Gabrielle hung up the phone abruptly.

Eliana felt her heart sink as the dial tone rang in her ear.

“Who scolded you?” Maurice looked at her calmly.

Eliana glared at him. “It’s all your fault!” she snapped. “I messed up my job because I saved you. Don’t try to stay out of this. Give me your phone number.”

She took out her phone and held it out to him.

Maurice looked down at the phone. “That’s a poor reason to get my phone number.”

‘Damn you!’

“Don’t try to run away!” Eliana shoved her phone towards him and growled, “Hurry up! Give me your number!”

‘She is kind of cute,’ Maurice remarked inwardly.

He narrowed his eyes and smiled slightly before t

aking the phone and typing in his number. Then he heaved a falsely sad sigh and stated, “You know, I haven’t had any business in a long time. I finally made a deal today, but then your ruined it.”

“I did that to save you! Why can’t you distinguish right from wrong? Which is more important, business or life?”

“Fine. How about I repay you with my body and have sex with you for one night?”

“What? Have sex with me? Absolutely not!”

Eliana glared at him again.

He handed her the phone, then raised her chin and gave her an intense stare. “If you want compensation, I have a valuable ring which has been in my family for generations. But after we slept with each other five years ago, I couldn’t find it. I suspect…”

‘A ring?’

A hazy picture flashed through Eliana’s mind.

Yes… She seemed to remember a ring…

The incident had been so sudden and her memory of it was blurred.

“It wasn’t me! Don’t blame me.”

She was nervous. Surely a famous male prostitute’s ring would be extremely expensive. Did he want her to compensate for it?

Maurice squinted as if peering through her disguise. “Really?”

“Yes, yes!”

‘She is lying. It’s bold of such a little thing to play tricks on me. Let’s see if she’s still smiling tomorrow!’

Maurice shot a cold glance at her while he removed his hand. He dialed a number. “Drive the car here.”

The lack of emotion in his voice made Eliana shiver. “Wait, what did the ring look like?”

Maurice acted like he hadn’t heard her question.

Soon an Aston Martin sped over and came to a stop in front of them.

Maurice stepped forward and opened the car door.

Eliana’s mouth fell open. ‘This is his car?’

Maurice disappeared into the back seat. Eliana wanted to follow, but the door slammed shut in her face.

The engine roared and the Aston Martin drove away, leaving her alone on a remote street.

Eliana clenched her teeth and took out her phone to call a taxi. Then she saw the new number in her phone.

“Preston Archer!”

Chapter 9 The Punishment

Exhausted, Eliana returned home. When she entered, she found the living room empty.

The balcony door was slightly ajar, and she could faintly hear Kimora’s voice. She seemed to be talking on the phone.

“Mr. Bowman, the kindergarten is in charge of organizing the summer camp activity, which entails huge costs. Miss Pierce just got a job. I’m afraid that the money—”

The balcony door was pushed open loudly.

Startled, Kimora whirled around to find Eliana standing by the door. Instinctively, she hid the phone behind her back and hung up the call. It was obvious that she had done this many times before.

Eliana frowned slightly. “Kimora, I’ve been ready to support my family ever since I came back. Please don’t ask for money from Jonathan and don’t tell him anything about me,” she stated sternly.

“Miss Pierce, Mr. Bowman is just worried about you…” Kimora faltered.

Truth be told, Jonathan had paid her a lot of money to take care of Eliana and the two children. Everyone could see what he was up to.

Eliana smiled but her eyes were icy cold. “If you think that Mr. Bowman is so nice, then why do you come and work here? I should send you back to him.”

Flustered, Kimora mumbled a promise that she wouldn’t tell Jonathan about Eliana’s situation anymore.

When that was settled, Eliana retired to her room and sank into her bed. Suddenly, she recalled that Preston had mentioned a ring.

Did she really take that man’s ring?

She jumped out of bed and started rummaging through the boxes and drawers.

The event of that night from five years ago was simply too absurd. The morning she woke up, she had hurriedly packed up her things and left.

A lot had happened since then. After all, it had been years since that night. Naturally, she couldn’t remember if she had accidentally taken the ring with her.

After she turned her room upside down, Eliana’s search was fruitless.

Surveying the mess she made, she sighed helplessly.

Perhaps Preston was just teasing her.

There was a gentle knock on the door and it opened a crack. Two small heads poked inside, and the twins peered around curiously. When they saw Eliana look right at them, they asked in unison, “What are you looking for, Mommy?”

Seeing their cute little faces, Eliana felt as though her weariness melted away. She opened the door and threw her arms around the two children. “I’m looking for a ring. Have you seen it by any chance?”

Adrian shook his head, staring at his mother blankly.

“I have it!” Aileen beamed and put her chubby hand into her pocket.

Could the ring be in Aileen’s pocket?

Eliana’s heart skipped a beat.

“Here!” Aileen fished out a candy ring, her eyes gleaming proudly, as if she had found precious treasure. “Is this what you’re looking for? It’s pretty and yummy!”

Eliana was at a loss whether to burst into tears or laughter. How cute her girl was!

She planted a kiss on her daughter’s soft cheek and whispered, “Not this kind of ring, honey.”

Adrian seemed displeased. Pouting furiously, he pointed at his face and cried, “What about me, Mommy?”

Just then, Kimora’s voice sounded. She called them to the dining table to eat. Eliana kissed her son’s cheek as well and coaxed the two to go and eat dinner.

On the next day, Eliana went to work.

As soon as she entered the office, she felt that the atmosphere was a little strange. Her colleagues all fixed their eyes on her.

Confused, she touched her cheek and asked, “Why are you all staring at me? Is there something on my face?”

One of the colleagues coughed and jabbed a finger at her desk.

There was a janitor’s uniform on the table.

“What’s this for?” Eliana picked up the uniform and looked at it, more confused than ever.

“Mr. Jenkins sent it here. He wants you to…” The colleague’s voice trailed off, as though he was hesitant about telling the truth. Eliana tilted her head and looked at him questioningly. Finally, the

colleague relented and blurted out, “He wants you to clean Mr. Moran’s office as a punishment for screwing up the project.”

Eliana’s eyes went as wide as saucers.

A designer was asked to do the cleaning?! How humiliating!

“Eliana, do you know how much money the company lost because you screwed the project up? Three hundred million!”

Gabrielle’s shrill voice came from a distance. Then Eliana heard the high heels clacking against the floor, fast approaching her.

When she turned around, she met Gabrielle’s glowering eyes.

Chapter 10 Touched Mr. Moran’s Chest

‘Three hundred million?’

Eliana nearly gasped.

“You should feel lucky that Mr. Moran’s only punishing you by making you clean the office!” Gabriella scoffed.

Not everyone was allowed to enter Maurice’s office. Gabrielle had been with the company for so many years, but she had never stepped foot inside it.

As though she could read her mind, Eliana sneered, “Are you jealous? Anyway, I think this uniform suits you better.”

Gabrielle’s nostrils flared angrily when she heard this. She almost let out a string of curses but managed to hold back.

Eliana held up the uniform and sneered, “Get out of my way, or else I’ll be late. If Mr. Moran gets angry at me, I’ll tell him it was you who held me up.”

Considering Maurice’s high position in the company, Gabrielle didn’t dare to keep him waiting, so she had no choice but to let Eliana go.

‘There’s no need to rush. I’ll trample on this little bitch some other time!’

With that, Gabrielle stood aside and Eliana strode out of the Design Department with her chin held high.

‘Mr. Moran is so weird. I would’ve expected him to punish me with a hefty fine for screwing up, but to make me clean up his office? What a strange quirk.’

Indignant, Eliana changed into the janitor’s uniform and took the elevator to the top floor.

She knocked on the door lightly, but there was no response.

After hesitating for a moment, Eliana furtively pushed the door open a crack. The elegantly-decorated CEO’s office was empty.

‘He’s not here? Great!’

However, the office was so massive that it felt like an eternity before she finished cleaning.

When she was finally done, Eliana heaved a heavy sigh and leaned against the wall to catch her breath.

Suddenly, a click sounded from behind her.

Before Eliana knew what was happening, the wall she was leaning against suddenly disappeared and she immediately fell backwards.

“Ah!”

Then, she felt someone grab her by the waist and yank her back forcefully, pulling her into a warm embrace.

In a state of shock, she looked up and met the deep set eyes of a man.

“Mr… Mr. Moran?” she blurted out.

It was the first time that Eliana had seen his face at such a close distance. He looked handsome, elegant, cold and sexy, with dark deep eyes.

Maurice, who was holding her by the waist, looked at her carefully.

Eliana wasn’t wearing any makeup, but her facial features were delicate and petite. Even a janitor’s uniform couldn’t hide her natural beauty. Her waist was very slim and Maurice couldn’t help but stroke her smooth skin.

Noticing this, Eliana trembled and immediately pushed the man away. To her surprise, her fingers made contact with his smooth, supple skin.

Her heart banged against her chest and she quickly averted her gaze. Looking around carefully, only then did she realize that the wall she had leaned against was actually a hidden door. Because she had inadvertently pushed it open, she could see the lounge it opened up to.

Glancing back at Maurice, she noticed that his hair was slightly wet. He seemed to have just taken a shower. His bathrobe hung loosely around him. Even though there was a belt wrapped around his waist, a part of his chiseled chest was exposed.

‘I-I-I touched Mr. Moran’s chest just now?!’

“Mr. Moran, please excuse me.” Eliana looked away in a hurry. Seeing him in a bathrobe, she could barely think straight.

Maurice carefully raised his hand and adjusted the collar of his robe, covering the scar on his chest.

His sharp eyes stared at the woman, piercing through her like a knife.

Then he started to walk towards her.

Eliana was forced to take a few steps back. Soon, her back bumped against the desk and she had nowhere to run.

What on earth did this guy want from her? Eliana looked up uneasily and started to ask, “Mr. Moran, is there anything I can do for y—”

The last word died on her lips.

Maurice had suddenly leaned towards her, placing both his hands on either side of her, trapping her between his body and the desk.

Her two legs were almost driven out of place by him, pressing against his.

The subtle fragrance of the woman’s body wafted to his nose.

Just as he lowered his head, she raised hers. Their noses almost brushed against each other, their breaths mingling and intertwining.

The explosion of pheromones made her panic slightly.

Eliana held her breath subconsciously and her body went stiff as a board.

“You peeped while I was taking a shower, didn’t you?” The man’s breath brushed against her face, making her heart race in her chest.

She tried her best to calm down. “You misunderstand! I didn’t mean to peep at you…”

Plus, it was not like she knew there was a hidden door!

Maurice sneered slyly, “And are you satisfied with what you see?”

‘Honestly… Yes. I am satisfied… Wait! His voice… Why does he sound so familiar?’

Before Eliana could figure it out, she suddenly felt a tingling sensation at her waist.

The man’s big palm had swept over the woman’s waist. Now, he was tugging at the belt of his bathrobe, slowly untying the loose knot. He opened his mouth and said in a raspy, almost lazy voice, “Do you want to see more?”

‘More? What on earth is he talking about?’

Beneath her calm exterior, Eliana was growing ever desperate. “Mr. Moran, this is all just a big misunderstanding. I’m not interested in you!”

Maurice stared at her carefully, his expression unreadable. In his eyes, she seemed flustered, ashamed, and even angry. And she didn’t look like she was faking it.

‘This woman’s such a great actress.’

“Mr. Moran—”

All of a sudden, the door to the CEO’s office swung open.

The person who was about to walk inside suddenly froze in place, petrified by what she was seeing.

The secretary clutched the documents in her arms tightly, at a complete loss as to what to do.

Maurice, whom she had only ever seen in a suit, was now wearing nothing but a bathrobe. His slender body was pressing a flustered woman against the desk. The two were looking deep into each other’s eyes. One of Maurice’s arms was wrapped around her waist, while the other was untying his bathrobe belt. Was he about to pull it open?

“Sorry, I’ll come back later!” Trembling, the secretary squeezed her eyes shut and immediately closed the door.

Eliana felt as if her soul had left her body.

‘Oh, my God! She must’ve misunderstood, too!’

Embarrassed and angry, Eliana finally shoved the man off of her and turned around to leave.

“Wait!” Maurice’s authoritative voice suddenly sounded.

Eliana was completely irritated by now. She shot him a murderous glare and was about to scold him when he cleared his throat.

“You forgot to clean the bathroom,” he said coldly.

‘His tone is completely different from when he was flirting with me just now. Is he a schizophrenic?’

Gnawing her lower lip, Eliana coughed awkwardly and said, “Well, after I finish cleaning… About the loss of this project…”

‘Do I have to repay the company?’

As though he had read her mind, Maurice cast her a cold glance and asked, “You want to compensate me for it?”

‘Is he crazy? I couldn’t possibly pay him back!’

Eliana shook her head profusely. ‘That is three hundred million!’

Maurice frowned with disdain. “It seems you’re short on money.”

Then, he smiled ever so slightly, which made him look inexplicably charming. Seeing this, Eliana gulped nervously.

The man suddenly stretched out his hand to pinch her chin in between his slender fingers. His vicious, cold eyes stared at her and he said slowly, “I’ll tell you what… You can be my woman. At least, you’ll have enough money then.”

‘What the hell does that mean? Does he think… Does he think I’m that kind of woman?’

“Mr. Moran, can you match a man-whore in bed?” Rolling her eyes, Eliana picked up the mop and stormed off to the bathroom, seething with hatred.

The man watched her leave with displeasure, his face a little gloomy.

‘Did she mean I can’t match a man-whore in bed? That woman is really something else…’

Two hours later, an exhausted Eliana returned to the Design Department. Suddenly, her phone started to ring. Glancing at the caller ID tiredly, she saw that it was Preston.
