Chapter 91: His Affection Towards Her

At the mention of Maurice's miserable past, he loosened his grip on Eliana’s hand.

Looking at Nancy with a helpless expression, he asked, "Why did you have to talk about that now, Grandma?"

After all, it was a painful memory for Nancy too.

‘Why is he willing to do it for her and not me?’ Furious, she bit her lips hard until she felt the coppery taste of blood on her tongue.

She raised her hand to touch it, frowning in pain.

"Don't forget yourself, Evelynn."

Although Melanie was also not happy, she remained calm.

"We haven't finished the game yet."

Evelynn blinked her eyes and replied in a low voice, "Hmm."

Melanie then asked the waiter to serve the dishes.

Meeting Maurice's murderous gaze, the waiter became so terrified that he felt his legs go weak.

Seeing him crumble to the ground, Eliana, whose chair was the closest to him, became startled and stood up.

"Who sent you to drug me that day?" Maurice questioned the waiter coldly.

Evelynn blurted out in surprise, "Did Maurice sleep with Eliana because he was drugged that day?"

The next second, she immediately covered her mouth, realizing that she said something she should not have.

However, everyone heard her.

Maurice had sex with Eliana on the night of the dinner party and ruined his engagement because of the drugs.

Nancy frowned and asked, "What happened?"

Trembling, the waiter looked at Eliana, and pointed at her.

"It...She was the one that asked me to drug you.She told me that she would pay mea huge amount of money once she married into the Moran family, but she fell out of touch after that day."

"Oh my God! Eliana, I never thought you would be such a scheming person!"

Although Evelynn pretended to be shocked on the outside, she was gloating in her heart.

Nancy asked in disbelief, "Eliana, is he telling the truth?"

The disappointment in her eyes made Eliana’s heart ache.

"I didn't drug anyone," she replied in a hoarse voice.

"So, you're really with Maurice?" Nancy asked eagerly.

But it was not easy for Eliana to answer that question.

Nancy had been good to her, and had scolded her own grandson for her sake.

And she had only been deceiving Nancy from the start.

Everything that Nancy saw was just an illusion that she and Maurice had created.

Eliana was actually not in a relationship with Maurice at all.

Nancy's voice became shaky as she asked, "Eliana, why don't you answer me?"

It was hard for Eliana to say anything, but before she could even try, Maurice put his arm around her shoulder.He was a cold man to everyone else, but he was so gentle to her, and the affection in his eyes when he looked at her was like a deep lake, which made her want to drown in it.

Maurice's words were straightforward and his affection towards Eliana was too obvious.

Stunned, Eliana felt her heart race.

Maurice left the private dining room with Eliana.

Nancy was still thinking about Maurice and Eliana’s kiss.

All of a sudden, an anxious voice followed by the honking of a car, pulled them out of the magical moment.

A Maserati drifted over at a fast speed and stopped beside them.lt was Nana, who was surprised to see them being intimate with each other.

At the same time, Eliana and Maurice were also startled.

Eliana was speechless.She was obviously not hiding another man in her house.But she was hiding her kids from him.

"Think whatever you want.I'm leaving now," she replied without hesitation.

She then got in Nana's car without even looking back at him.

"Let's go!"

Eliana urged Nana.

Soon, Nana changed gears, loosened the clutch, and stepped on the gas.

The Maserati raced away like a flash of lightning.

Standing there alone, Maurice stared in the direction of their car.He felt like Eliana was strangely hesitant to let him drive her home every time.

Was she hiding something in her house? At that moment, Corbin drove his Maybach over, and slowly stopped in front of Maurice.

Maurice was delighted to see that he arrived just in time.

"After Evelynn's project was canceled, I showed your design to some of our other clients.And Nicole Swift wants your design.She is going to wear the necklace to a film festival."

Hearing the sudden news, Eliana was astonished.

"Nicole Swift? The popular actress?"

"Yes.Congratulations, Eliana.You deserve it,’ Bradly praised with appreciation in his eyes.Eliana was surprised and pleased to hear that.After all, it was the first design that she had created since she joined
