Ch. 1..10

Chapter 1: You dumped me, so why are you thinking of me? “I heard Miss Zhang’s first love is still around, yet I, unclean in body and mind, are you sure you want to proceed with this blind date?”

Mo Chen’s eyes narrowed slightly, his demeanor regal and detached, even edged with a hint of cruelty.

The woman’s expression froze instantly: “Mr. Mo…can’t you forget your ex-girlfriend? She’s been gone for two years.”

A layer of frost seemed to cloak his handsome features as he replied in a heavy voice, “It has nothing to do with time.”

Tricked into attending a blind date?

Very well!

Let’s see how he deals with these people when he gets back.

The woman’s complexion turned slightly pale as she picked up her glass of lemonade and took a sip: “What if I said I could wait for you?”

“Oh, I forgot to tell you, I’m already ‘useless.'” Mo Chen’s expression remained calm, his voice deep and indifferent.

The woman looked shocked: “What…what do you mean?”

“Exactly what you’re thinking, ‘incapable of human connection.'” He scoffed, his dark eyes filled with indifference.

The woman was rendered speechless.

Suddenly, a sweet and clear voice broke into the awkward atmosphere: “Miss, you might as well give up. He doesn’t like you. Let me do it.”

This familiar voice…

Had been silent in his world for two years.

The moment Mo Chen looked down, his body stiffened, and the decayed heart in his chest seemed to gradually regain its beat.

Turbulent currents churned in his eyes, his handsome face taut.

When he suddenly looked up, it was as if he had seen a ghost.

Qiao Ruoxin had returned…

That proud figure was like a blazing light rushing into his vision, stinging his eyes.

“Who are you?” the woman asked.

Qiao Ruoxin smiled slightly, her doe-like eyes innocent and clear: “Me? I’m his ex-girlfriend. He’s just humoring you. Can’t you tell? Don’t waste your time on him. You deserve better.”

The woman looked at the stunning face before her, annoyed: “Are you playing a joke on me?” She stood up, grabbed her bag, and left in a huff.

Qiao Ruoxin chuckled lightly, took a seat, and watched the man opposite her.

Their eyes met, electric, the air thickening with an odd tension.

Mo Chen stared intensely at her. Was this an illusion? It must be an illusion…

Qiao Ruoxin was wearing a Hepburn-style little black dress, her wavy hair cascading romantically and gently to her waist. Her makeup was delicate, her cherry lips rosy, with a graceful figure and a pair of slender, straight legs that were hard to look away from.

“Mo Chen, did you miss me that much?” Qiao Ruoxin propped her little face with her hands, her voice soft and delicate.

The restaurant was quiet and elegant, the lighting dim and intimate, their gazes indistinct.

Upon hearing her voice, Mo Chen paused, then let out a disdainful cold laugh, his voice husky to the extreme: “Qiao Ruoxin, you dare to come back to see me.”

His long fingers under the table clenched into a fist, knuckles cracking.

He picked up his phone and opened the WeChat group with his brothers, sending a message: [Need a few people to hold me back, she’s back.]

Qiao Ruoxin blinked: “I missed you too, so I came back.”

Mo Chen laughed lowly, his mirth filled with mockery: “How much did you miss me?”

“A lot, a lot. I thought about you every day.”

His phone almost bent from the force of his grip, and he felt himself on the verge of losing control, pressing his lips tightly together.

Every part of his body ached, the pain spreading to his limbs.

“It was you who dumped me, why would you think of me?” Mo Chen stared at her as if she might evaporate from the Human World the next second.

Qiao Ruoxin’s eyes flickered thoughtfully, as if considering: “Hmm…the events from two years ago are too complicated, I can’t explain in a word or two, I’ll tell you later.”

The next second!

With a ‘slam,’ the man’s hands fiercely struck the table, giving off a violent noise. He abruptly stood up, glowering at Qiao Ruoxin across from him, ready to burst.

Chapter 2: Who Said I Was Going to Lay a Hand on Her? Just at that moment, his two best brothers finally arrived.

“Hey, hey, hey! Calm down, calm down! Public place! It’s not good to get physical! After all, she’s a girl who cares about her face.”

Bai Junyan and Lu Siheng strode forward, each grabbing one side of the about-to-erupt volcano that was Mo Chen.

Qiao Ruoxin was truly frightened to see him like this. After two years, this man’s temper had become even more explosive.

Bai Junyan pulled Mo Chen away and gave Lu Siheng a look: “Siheng, take Ruoxin home first. Today is not suitable for negotiations. Let’s all cool down a bit.”

Qiao Ruoxin watched as Mo Chen was dragged away, pouting unhappily.

She couldn’t help but mutter softly, “I really missed you.”

The parking lot.

Looking at Mo Chen, who had gradually regained his composure, Bai Junyan couldn’t help but say, “You’re a grown man, were you really going to hit Ruoxin?”

“Who said I was going to hit her?” Mo Chen glanced coldly at him, as if looking at an idiot.

“Then why did we come over to hold you back?”

Mo Chen, with an expressionless face, said in a deep voice, “I was afraid I would lose control and take her right there.”

“…” Bai Junyan was somewhat speechless: “Beast or not, you’re the beast here, don’t forget your misogyny.”

Suddenly, he threw a punch, which Bai Junyan quickly dodged, astonished, “Your misogyny isn’t because of me, so why hit me?”

Mo Chen narrowed his eyes and said coldly, “Tricking me into going on a blind date?”

Bai Junyan laughed awkwardly, “Wasn’t that a request from your old man? We did it for your own good.”

“Take her to Jiangfu Number One. If she dares to run again, break her legs!” With that, he turned and walked towards his car.

Bai Junyan, caught between laughter and tears: “Why are you always so simple and brutal? That’s your heart we’re talking about—are you really willing to do it?”

“Get lost!”

Jiangfu Number One.

Ruoxin was delivered by Lu Siheng to this French-style villa, Mo Chen’s residence.

As soon as she pushed open the car door to get out, she saw two bodyguards who had been waiting for a long time.

She frowned slightly: “Does Mo Chen intend to imprison me?”

“Do you think he’ll give you a chance to escape again?” Lu Siheng scoffed.

Ruoxin didn’t speak, walking through the garden and into the villa, hearing Lu Siheng’s warning behind her: “If you’ve no intention of having anything to do with him, I hope you’ll stop tormenting him. He’s almost a wreck.”

A wreck…

Her silhouette stiffened; she had heard Mo Chen say himself that he was finished, back in the restaurant.

What on earth had happened to that man in these two years?

Qiao Ruoxin’s delicate face grew paler by the moment, her gaze flickering with unease: “What… what happened to him?”

Because of you, he developed severe psychological disorders—insomnia, misogyny, explosive temper, and even nausea and vomiting whenever a woman got too close to him.”

After finishing, Lu Siheng added: “Honestly, the blow you dealt him was too harsh. His personality is already obsessive and extreme.”

Her eyes were quickly consumed with shock, and it took a long time for her to recover.

After an unknown period, Qiao Ruoxin slowly said, “I will never leave him again.”

Having finished speaking, she turned and went inside the villa.

In her heart, she vowed silently that she would make Mo Chen better.

She had hurt the pride of a man, especially someone like Mo Chen, who was the pride of the heavens—as if he had been thrown from ten thousand meters high to the ground.

Chapter 3: You Want to Come Back to Me? After Qiao Ruoxin entered the villa, Lu Siheng drove away.

Then, a black Rolls-Royce Phantom slowly stopped outside the villa.

The car window rolled down, revealing Mo Chen’s stunningly handsome face, staring expressionlessly at the lit-up lights of the villa.

He picked up a cigarette, placed it between his lips, and lit it.

The burning ember glowed willfully in the dark night.

Leaning back in his seat, he stared intently at the bedroom window, his dark eyes filled with possessiveness.

In the two years since Ruoxin had left, he had taken up smoking, but only during moments of frustration and confusion.

Scenes from their initial encounter earlier in the evening began to surface in his mind; she seemed unchanged from two years ago, yet more beautiful, with a graceful figure and fair, attractive features.

After all, Ruoxin was the belle of the Film Academy.

Suddenly, he let out a self-deprecating snicker, finding himself ridiculous.

He had nearly driven himself to ruin, while Qiao Ruoxin was living comfortably, an irony indeed.

Sleepless, he had to stand guard himself to have peace of mind.

The next day, early in the morning.

Qiao Ruoxin woke up at seven o’clock, finished her morning routine, and changed her clothes.

As she descended the stairs, she saw a man sitting on the living room sofa.

A jolt went through her heart.

Slowing her pace, she approached and finally saw his handsome features clearly — a dissolute noble son’s demeanor, his suit jacket tossed carelessly on the sofa.

Mo Chen appeared to be resting with his eyes closed, his long fingers, well-defined at the joints, supporting his forehead, the tie under his white shirt loose and hanging, his sleeves casually rolled up revealing a silver wristwatch.

His handsome face was taut, and his jawline was smooth and sexy.

The air was tinged with a faint smell of alcohol. Had he been drinking?

Moreover, he was still in the clothes from last night, and she suddenly remembered what Lu Siheng had said about his insomnia…

Had he not slept all night?

“Didn’t you sleep last night?”

At the sound of her voice, Mo Chen suddenly opened his dark eyes, looking at her, his voice low, “I’m not tired, don’t want to sleep.”

Just as Ruoxin was about to say something, the man interrupted her, “Why did you come back?”

“I told you, I missed you.”

Just as she was about to sit beside him, she heard his cold and languid voice, “Stay away from me.”

Qiao Ruoxin closed her eyes briefly, then sat down on the opposite sofa, a smile on her face, “I’m back.”

“Do you want to come back to me?” His lips curled with a mocking smile, his eyes filled with indifference.

“Yes.”

Mo Chen, “Qiao Ruoxin, do you think I love you so much that you can come and go as you please?”

In the spacious living room, the atmosphere was a bit tense, with the man’s dominant presence pressing down on the entire villa.

She shook her head slightly, “That’s why I’m here to win you back.”

Mo Chen laughed in disbelieve, his laugh laced with a hint of mockery, “Win me back? What if I already have another woman?”

“But you don’t, you were on a date last night, even telling that woman you can’t forget your ex-girlfriend.”

“How can you believe what a man says?”

He picked up another cigarette, placed it between his lips, lowered his eyes to light it with a lighter, and exhaled the smoke towards her across.

Through the smoke, Ruoxin was momentarily taken aback, “You’ve started smoking?”

Although she had found the man smoking quite attractive and alluring, she still didn’t like it…

He didn’t speak, merely narrowing his eyes slightly.

With a cigarette between his thin lips, his beautiful features were shrouded with dissolute charm, as he leaned back.

: Chapter 4: You Think You Can Win Me Back Like This? Qiao Ruoxin looked at the fatigue on his handsome face with a bit of heartache, “Why don’t you sleep all night?”

“If I sleep, I will dream. In those dreams, I’ve strangled you countless times,” he said slowly, with an air of indifference.

Every time he lay in bed to sleep, he thought of Qiao Ruoxin lying in someone else’s bed every night, being cherished by someone else.

Just thinking about that scene, his hate grew wildly, making him feel nauseous and vomit.

Then, he started to suffer from insomnia night after night, becoming more and more irritable.

She was slightly taken aback.

So, the chronic insomnia had made Mo Chen’s temperament become more and more gloomy, as if he was steeped in darkness.

“Mo Chen, I love you, I have always loved you, please don’t do this…” to yourself.

She couldn’t bring herself to say the rest.

But what answered her was his disdainful snort, “You don’t love me, otherwise you wouldn’t have dumped me for two years before remembering me.”

Love?

That word was a joke to him.

He had lived for 27 years, known Qiao Ruoxin for 9.

And this girl had always tormented him, body and soul, to the point where he felt like a masochist.

Mo Chen: “Qiao Ruoxin, the words ‘I love you,’ if said without feeling, sound especially disgusting.”

He deliberately emphasized the word ‘disgusting.’

In these two years, how many men had Qiao Ruoxin said ‘I love you’ to?

Thinking of this, Mo Chen suddenly felt nauseous, abruptly got up and strode with long legs towards the bathroom.

At the moment the door shut, sounds of vomiting and running water could be heard from inside.

Sitting on the sofa, Qiao Ruoxin turned pale immediately, her beautiful eyes misting over.

Is it really that serious…

If this continues, Mo Chen’s body might truly be ruined.

The door opened.

The first thing Mo Chen saw was Qiao Ruoxin standing there, her face so pure it reached her bones, yet her heart was cruel to the extreme.

His handsome face was tight, still dripping with water, his gaze cold and indifferent.

Qiao Ruoxin looked at his slightly pale complexion, and her heart tightened.

It must be said, Mo Chen had a face that every woman would want to sleep with, incredibly handsome, but with a terrible temper.

“Let me make breakfast for you.” She smiled slightly, suddenly speaking.

Mo Chen raised an eyebrow slightly, a trace of surprise crossing his handsome face, “You can cook?”

“Of course, let me take care of you from now on.”

Having said that, she walked towards the kitchen.

She opened the fridge to get ingredients, planning to prepare a simple American breakfast since there wasn’t much time.

The tall, handsome figure of the man followed her, watching her skilled movements, his Adam’s apple bobbing up and down.

After a while, Qiao Ruoxin placed two breakfasts on the dining table.

She tilted her head towards the man, “Please enjoy, Lord Mo?”

Mo Chen pulled out a chair and sat down, looking at the sandwich and fried egg in front of him, as well as the fruit salad.

The man ate elegantly, his manner completely at odds with his irritable temper.

Qiao Ruoxin took a sip of orange juice, watching the man finish his breakfast without blinking.

She spoke cautiously, “I will make it for you every day from now on, is that okay?”

“You think you can win me back just like that?” Mo Chen wiped the corner of his mouth with a napkin, glancing at her indifferently.

“Since you love me so much, of course, I have to win you back.”

She smiled gently.

Probably no one else in this world could love her more than Mo Chen.

Chapter 5: If You’re a Man, Make Her Cry! Mo Chen lifted his eyes to her, “I never agreed to let you pursue me.”

“I know, I’ll bring you lunch at noon.” She was unfazed.

Then, she placed her passport and ID card in front of the man, saying, “I’m giving these to you, I’m going to live elsewhere, but I won’t run away.”

Because she didn’t want to see Mo Chen so distressed anymore, she thought she’d better take it slow.

The man looked down expressionlessly at the passport and ID card for a moment, his voice deep, “No.”

“You can have someone follow me, don’t worry, I’ll be staying with Bai Junyan’s woman.” Her eyes twinkled innocently.

“Qiao Ruoxin, for an ex, you sure have a lot of nerve, huh?”

She arched her back proudly, her cherry lips tempting, “I’ll bring you lunch at noon, then I’ll leave, let your bodyguard escort me.”

Having said that, she got up and left the dining room on her own.

Afterward, the bodyguard entered the dining room, “Mr. Mo, Miss Qiao asked us to escort her.”

Mo Chen looked at the passport and ID card on the table and commanded in a deep voice, “Keep an eye on her, 24-hour surveillance.”

“Yes!”

Shuian Huating.

Qiao Ruoxin was escorted to the neighborhood, rode the elevator to the 17th floor, and entered the home using the passcode.

At that moment, Lan Ke, who was sitting on the couch in the living room watching a Korean drama, glanced back at her, “Didn’t come home all night, did you and Mo Chen burn with passion, unable to bear the loneliness?”

She changed into slippers, collapsed on the couch, and leaned on Lan Ke’s shoulder with a bewildered look in her eyes, “Ake, Mo Chen must have hated me so much these past two years.”

“What else, should he be grateful that you dumped him?”

Qiao Ruoxin stared at the television screen, but her gaze couldn’t focus, “I’ll make him feel better…”

Suddenly, Lan Ke asked, “Ruoxin, I really want to know why you treated Mo Chen like that? You’re already 21, not a child anymore, can you tell me the truth?”

She slowly sat up, somewhat helpless, “If I told you I was abducted, would you believe me?”

Clearly, Lan Ke was dismissive, “Abducted for two years? No ransom requested, no notification to your family, what’s the point of such an abduction?”

And Qiao Ruoxin seemed even prettier than before, not at all like someone who had suffered.

She sighed softly and didn’t want to talk anymore.

Soon, it was noon.

Hengzhong Group, inside the CEO’s office.

Mo Chen had already taken a bath and changed into a new set of clothes, sitting in his chair behind the office desk, signing documents.

The cellphone set aside suddenly vibrated.

He capped his pen and picked up the phone indifferently, opening the WeChat group with his brothers.

Bai Junyan: “Mo Chen, was the moon beautiful last night?”

Lu Siheng: “What the hell?”

Ji Haochuan: “My sister Ruoxin is back? Damn, I missed a good show last night!”

Gu Mocheng: “Mo Chen, if you’re a man, make her cry tears of regret!”

Bai Junyan: “You guys go away, Sister Qiao came back to ask for a reconciliation.”

Mo Chen: “Who said I’m reconciling with her?”

The brothers: “???”

Ji Haochuan: “Heh! First, you have the guts to change the photo of Miss Qiao from your profile picture, you’re like a freak!”

His WeChat profile picture was of a cute little girl eating ice cream, dressed in a white princess dress, with adorable twin ponytails, and the backdrop was Disneyland, a 5-year-old Qiao Ruoxin.

Mo Chen: “Not changing it.”

Then, the intercom on his desk rang.

Mo Chen set the phone aside, not bothering with them.

He pressed the answer button, and the voice of his female secretary came through, “President Mo, Miss Wen Wan is here again, insisting on entering, I can’t stop her.”

Then, the office door was knocked, and without waiting for a response, she entered.

Mo Chen hung up the phone and looked at the woman who walked in, Wen Wan.

Chapter 6: I never thought about getting back together with you. “Achen, let’s have lunch together?”

Wen Wan wore a white dress, graceful and delicate as her name suggested.

“No,” he rejected coldly, too lazy to even glance her way.

Thus, he didn’t see the hurt in Wen Wan’s eyes, but she quickly smiled again, “I heard you went on a blind date last night, that means you’re ready to start a new life, right?”

Mo Chen finally lifted his gaze to Wen Wan, his voice deep and chilly, “Don’t waste your time on me.”

“I want to!” Wen Wan bit her lip, showing her reluctance.

The man continued working on his documents, responding indifferently, “Whatever.”

The intercom rang again.

His slender fingers pressed the answer button, a trembling voice came from the other end, “President Mo, Qiao… Miss Qiao is here.”

“Let her in.”

Miss Qiao?

While Wen Wan was curious about who this Miss Qiao was, a cool yet soft voice came from behind her.

“Wen Wan, how can you be so useless? I left you that position for two years, and you still haven’t made any progress.”

Qiao Ruoxin carried a thermal food container to the visitor’s area, placed it on the coffee table, smoothed her skirt, and sat down elegantly on the sofa.

This voice…

Wen Wan turned around in shock and sure enough, she saw the little enchantress who had vanished for two years!

“Qiao Ruoxin! You’re back!”

She smiled slightly, her eyes seemingly innocent, “Yeah, I’m back, so you can leave now. Don’t bother my ex-boyfriend.”

Wen Wan looked back at the man behind the desk, her emotions somewhat out of control, “Mo Chen! Don’t tell me you’re still hung up on her!”

“Get out.”

The two frosty words chilled Wen Wan’s heart, “She’s not suitable for you at all, she will definitely disappoint you again, I promise.”

Mo Chen frowned, a flash of displeasure swept through his dark eyes, but he remained silent.

Wen Wan had already turned around and left in a huff.

After the sound of the door closing, the office returned to silence, a silence that felt somewhat ominous.

Qiao Ruoxin took out the lunch she had prepared from the thermal container, arranging everything neatly.

“Come and eat.”

Mo Chen rose from his desk and walked over to the sofa in the visitor’s area where he sat opposite her.

Qiao Ruoxin handed him the chopsticks, “Do you believe what Wen Wan said?”

“What do you think?” he scoffed.

“You must believe it, otherwise you wouldn’t be silent. It hurts,” she said, feeling a sour ache in her heart.

Mo Chen took the chopsticks, looking at the four dishes and one soup in front of him, all of which were exquisite and made with effort, obviously taking a lot of time.

He tasted one of the dishes and found it surprisingly good.

He looked up at Qiao Ruoxin’s expectant eyes and said coldly, “Not bad.”

“This time, trust me, I’ll behave,” she said seriously, gazing at the handsome face of the man opposite her.

Mo Chen continued to eat, still detached and indifferent, “I never thought about getting back together with you.”

Qiao Ruoxin felt as if her heart cracked open an inch, yet she still smiled sweetly, “Whether you want to is up to you, whether I pursue you is my business, nobody has the right to interfere with anyone else, right?”

The man said nothing, quietly continuing his meal, after all, he was a man of few words, whether dining or resting.

The wound was too deep, and even though it had healed, the rotten flesh inside hadn’t been completely cleansed.

If it happened a second time, he might really consider becoming a monk.

Qiao Ruoxin kept watching him eat, the sadder she felt. Had he been eating properly in these two years? Eating his meals as if he was taking medicine, without a hint of appetite.

“Aren’t you eating?” Mo Chen suddenly looked at her.

She paused slightly, “I’ve already eaten. You go ahead, and try the soup too, I’ve simmered it for three hours.”

Chapter 7: Because He Loves Her Mo Chen let out a scornful, disdainful chuckle, his tone dripping with sarcasm, “Only after eating you remember to bring some for me?”

This girl never had him in her heart; he was always the last.

Uh…

How had he become so petty.

Qiao Ruoxin still explained to him with a good temper, “After packing your lunch, I realized there were some leftovers, so I finished them before coming here.”

Mo Chen stopped talking and quietly finished his meal.

“Where are you going this afternoon?” he suddenly asked.

She leaned on the sofa, stretching lazily, “I plan to accompany you to work, I might be a bit busy in a few days.”

Mo Chen narrowed his eyes slightly, looking at her, “Busy?”

“Yeah, I joined the ‘Idol 101’ audition, so when the time comes, vote for me, and support your ex-girlfriend,” she said.

“Who let you join?” he frowned slightly.

Ruoxin’s lively eyes met his, “I need to earn money to support myself, otherwise will you give me money?”

After all, the balance on her bank card was pitiful.

And also to ensure she got the widest exposure possible, so she wouldn’t be ‘disappeared’ again.

Mo Chen glanced at her expressionlessly, his voice cold, “No.”

How resolute! How heartless!

Qiao Ruoxin genuinely felt unhappy now, “You’ve established so many charitable foundations, at the very least I was once your girlfriend, and I’ve made you happy before, aren’t you unfair to me?”

Although, she hadn’t really wanted it, his outright rejection chilled her heart.

“Yeah, no,” his attitude remained indifferent.

Give her money? To let her continue to disappear? Dream on.

Mo Chen faintly felt that her willingness to return this time was possibly because she was out of money.

She pouted a little aggrieved, her voice taking on a note of complaint, “Then when I have no clothes to wear, can you sponsor me a few pieces?”

“I can.”

Mo Chen frowned; had his ex-girlfriend become this destitute?

Qiao Ruoxin immediately felt much better and showed a sweet smile, “I knew it, you still like me best.”

Mo Chen’s lips curled into a cold smile, his tone sarcastic, “Like what about you?”

“Like everything about me, am I wrong?” she retorted proudly, lifting her chin and meeting his gaze.

Mo Chen was silent, his profound gaze fixed on her delicate egg-shaped face, emotions stirring within his eyes.

Taking for granted his love for her, doing whatever she pleased, was a bad habit he had indulged!

He got up indifferently and returned to his desk, sitting in the chair, beginning his CEO routine.

Qiao Ruoxin leaned on the sofa, watching him at work, making endless phone calls in a tonally icy manner, as if he were in Antarctica.

A glint flashed in her eyes.

Suddenly, she stood up, walked over to his desk, promptly capturing the man’s attention.

“What are you doing?” he looked up at her with a cold expression.

Qiao Ruoxin took a pen from the holder and some scrap paper, smiling coyly, “Nothing, you carry on with your work, I’ll just entertain myself for a while.”

Then, she returned to the sofa in the reception area.

Mo Chen watched her obedient appearance, his gaze deepening, with this woman around, he simply couldn’t focus on work.

The intercom on his desk rang again; he pressed the answer button.

“Mr. Mo, the conference room is ready, everyone has arrived, you can go for the meeting now.”

“Mhm.”

He picked up the materials from the desk, stood up, and went to Qiao Ruoxin’s side, his voice grave, “I’m going to a meeting, it will be about two hours.”

Qiao Ruoxin nodded, “Okay, I’ll wait here for you.”

Mo Chen responded indifferently, “Mhm.”

Then, he turned and left the office, instructing Secretary Jiang in the secretarial area, “Keep an eye on her, she’s not allowed to leave.”

“Yes!” Secretary Jiang stood up and nodded.

Then, she watched Mo Chen’s indifferent figure leave.

Chapter 8: I Know I’m Your Most Hated Ex-Girlfriend Qiao Ruoxin sat on the sofa with a pen in hand, tracing back and forth on a piece of paper, seemingly lost in whatever she was sketching.

From time to time, a smile would lift the corners of her mouth, as if she were immersed in her own world.

Two hours later.

The office door opened and Mo Chen’s tall legs stepped inside, his dark eyes flickering with a trace of anxiety.

Seeing Qiao Ruoxin asleep on the sofa, the aggression in him finally began to subside.

He walked to his desk, pressed the intercom on his phone, “Bring in a blanket.”

Then, he returned to the sofa in the reception area, watching the peaceful sleeping face of Qiao Ruoxin, a graceful curve forming on his lips.

Mo Chen noticed a few sketching comics on the coffee table.

His brows slightly furrowed, his slender fingers picked up the sheets of paper.

It was him on the drawings.

Looking up at the slumbering Qiao Ruoxin, had she been drawing him after getting the paper and pen?

The drawings were in a youthful style, romantic and tender.

They depicted him working just moments ago, even capturing the frown and displeasure on his face.

At that moment, a knock on the door sounded and Secretary Jiang brought in a blanket.

Mo Chen glanced at the sleeping Qiao Ruoxin across from him, signaling Secretary Jiang to place the blanket over her.

Secretary Jiang gently covered Qiao Ruoxin with the blanket, then left the office.

He stared at the comics on the paper, lost in thought.

Qiao Ruoxin was talented from the start, having been admitted to a top domestic film academy at the age of 16.

If she hadn’t become his woman, she would have been shining in the entertainment industry by now, her pretty face would have surely made her a top star without a problem.

“Does it look like you?”

Suddenly, Qiao Ruoxin’s voice rose, blurry and languid.

Mo Chen looked over at her, her sleepy, hazy appearance was soft and endearing.

His tone was cold, “No, it doesn’t.”

Qiao Ruoxin wrapped the blanket tighter around herself and sat up, snorting softly, “Denying the truth, just keep it for your collection, I know you like it very much.”

Mo Chen’s handsome face was full of disdain as he looked at her indifferently, “It’s too ugly.”

Qiao Ruoxin furrowed her brows and threw off the blanket.

She stood up, took the drawings, and forcefully placed them inside a drawer on the desk.

“You must keep it, no discussion!”

Mo Chen looked at her, “Qiao Ruoxin, in what capacity are you throwing your weight around here?”

“I know, I know, you don’t need to remind me again that I am your most hated ex-girlfriend.”

With an indifferent expression, Qiao Ruoxin sat back on the sofa and noticed his cellphone.

She picked up the phone, and at the sight of the lock screen, her heart ached fiercely once more.

The lock screen was a selfie of Qiao Ruoxin, making a funny face at the camera, looking quirky and cute, both adorable and sweet.

“Why is this ugly picture still your lock screen, can you change it to a nice picture of me?” she complained a little.

Qiao Ruoxin quickly entered the password, still her birthday, and let out a sigh of relief.

Then, the phone’s wallpaper that caught her eye made her heart tremble, it was a picture of her lying in bed, asleep, with her eyelashes long and curled; she could no longer remember when it was taken.

Qiao Ruoxin frowned at the man across from her, “Why do you only use pictures of me making faces or sleeping? I have so many pretty photos… ”

Mo Chen’s voice was chilling as he spoke slowly, “That is the pretentious you, not the real you.”

That was true, the beautiful pictures were all deliberately posed by her.

“Change it, it damages my image,” she said, and went to change the lock screen and wallpaper.

Mo Chen suddenly stood up and snatched the phone from her hand, accidentally touching her fingers and quickly withdrawing his hand.

A wave of nausea began to rise, which he forcefully suppressed.

The flash of discomfort that passed over his handsome face was caught by Qiao Ruoxin, who noticed his distress.

Just a touch made him suffer so much? To this extent?

Why did this man force himself to such an extent?

Chapter 9: Why Are There Ugly Women Everywhere? Mo Chen looked at her with cold eyes, “Don’t touch my phone.”

Having said that, he turned and walked toward his desk.

Qiao Ruoxin stared at his tall figure, “You neither want me nor change my photo, how are you going to find another woman?”

The man’s figure paused, but he did not turn around, “I’ll change it when I find someone.”

The fact was, he had no intention of changing it, not even if he found someone else.

Qiao Ruoxin watched him return to his seat behind the desk and sighed softly, a sound only she could hear.

The more Mo Chen rejected her today, the more he had doted on her in the past.

This man was just that extreme.

Qiao Ruoxin sat on the sofa in the reception area, watching staff members continually come in to report to him, bringing documents and files until the end of the workday.

“I’m heading back, Ake has asked me to go to the hot springs tonight, we’re going to take promotional photos for that program tomorrow.”

Mo Chen looked at her, silent and enigmatic, his eyes darkening.

Qiao Ruoxin continued, “Your bodyguard has been following me.”

“How many days have you been back?” he asked.

“A week now.”

Mo Chen’s face instantly grew more somber, a flame of anger smoldering within him as he sneered, “Am I the last one you thought of?”

Uh…

She smiled awkwardly, “I needed to settle myself first so I could go to you beautifully.”

He scoffed coldly, “Get out.”

Qiao Ruoxin stopped herself from saying more, slowly turned around, her voice helpless, “Take good care of yourself, eat well, sleep well, I’ve come back and I won’t leave again.”

After speaking, she left the office.

The moment the door closed, a wave of solitude swept in from all directions, hidden well within the office.

Mo Chen propped his right arm on the desk, slender fingers resting against his forehead, his eyes closed, fatigue and irritability marked his handsome face.

Two years ago, he had found that this woman had never loved him.

Otherwise, how could she be so cruel as to torment him?

Evening, at a social gathering.

Women of various appearances, dressed in beautiful gowns.

Mo Chen glanced indifferently across the room, his tone icy and disdainful, “Why are there only ugly women everywhere?”

Was the world deliberately opposing him?

The brothers: “???”

Bai Junyan said with contempt, “In your eyes, aside from Sister Qiao, which woman isn’t ugly?”

Ji Haochuan said, “Sister Qiao is a rare beauty, having entered a top domestic film academy at 16. Apart from her solid professional skills, mainly it was her face that was noticed.”

Gu Mocheng said, “Subdue her, make her cry from torment, let her remember you for life.”

Mo Chen: “…”

Lu Siheng: “…”

Bai Junyan said, “I always feel incompatible with you because I am not twisted enough. Gu Mocheng, you seem to have experience in tormenting women.”

Ji Haochuan said, “Mo Chen would never torment Sister Qiao; he only torments himself.”

Mo Chen swirled the red wine in his glass with his slender fingers and snorted dismissively, “Is that so? Times have changed; she’s just an ex now.”

Just then, a woman in a red evening gown bumped into Mo Chen’s arms, apologizing with a bashful face, “Ah… I’m so sorry, President Mo, I didn’t mean to.”

Mo Chen’s expression changed drastically; the heavy perfume scent made him nauseous, a feeling of vomiting churning within him.

Setting down his wine glass, his long legs took him toward the restroom—leaving with an air of hostility.

The woman’s self-esteem was wounded by his reaction; her attempts at seduction had disgusted Mo Chen???

“Don’t worry, beautiful, it’s his health, not your charm,” Bai Junyan consoled her with a few words, and the woman left heartbroken.

Lu Siheng sighed, “Will Achen ever recover?”

Gu Mocheng: “Heartache needs heart medicine; it’ll depend on Qiao Ruoxin.”

Chapter 10: The Shameless Step-Sister The next day.

At the photo shoot for “Idol 101,” in the dressing room.

“Yo yo yo, isn’t this my Asia’s richest man’s ex-girlfriend, who was kicked out of the house and disappeared from the human world for two years, my half-sister?”

At the sound of the voice, Qiao Ruoxin turned to glance and smiled faintly, “Isn’t this my mother’s little mistress who took over the nest, shamelessly claiming a place she doesn’t deserve?”

Qiao Sisi glared at her furiously, “Say that again! My mom is not a mistress!”

“Right, right, right, she might be the fourth or fifth or sixth, but you being shameless is true.”

She blinked innocently, her tone enough to infuriate without any repercussions.

Qiao Sisi was about to explode with anger, “Who are you calling shameless!”

Qiao Ruoxin couldn’t be bothered with this wretched stepsister and turned to leave the dressing room.

“You come back here! You little bitch!” Qiao Sisi stamped her foot angrily, her face full of hatred.

Since she dared to come back, then this time, she would definitely make Qiao Ruoxin kneel and beg for mercy!

Qiao Ruoxin had changed into the program’s uniform, her legs slender and straight, her makeup exquisite, and her beautiful eyes clear and innocent like a deer’s, her skin glowing white.

She had just entered the studio, lining up to have her promotional photos taken.

Many girls were whispering about her beauty, a beauty that was impossible to ignore.

To her surprise, she saw the woman standing in front, with an elegant and dignified aura.

Wen Wan?

What was she doing here?

Her gaze then fell on the work badge around the woman’s neck, which read: Chief Director, Wen Wan.

Wen Wan is the chief director of this program???

As Qiao Ruoxin was lost in thought, Wen Wan suddenly walked over to her.

“Everyone, keep up the good work, I’ll be taking my leave now.”

Wen Wan left with a gentle smile, having come just to visit the set.

However, upon seeing Qiao Ruoxin, Wen Wan’s smile froze momentarily on her lips, but she quickly recovered and left the studio.

A smirk appeared on Qiao Ruoxin’s face, what a lively scene indeed, those expected and unexpected, all had shown up.

Suddenly, Qiao Sisi stood behind her, handing her an opened bottle of water, “Sister, have some water.”

The next second, Qiao Sisi’s hand trembled, and the bottle of water looked set to spill all over her.

Heh…

Such a low IQ move, and this rotten stepsister had the nerve to try it.

Qiao Ruoxin, without any politeness, knocked the bottle of water onto Qiao Sisi’s own body, causing a stir among the onlookers.

Before Qiao Sisi could react, Qiao Ruoxin softly apologized with feigned guilt, “Ah… sorry, I didn’t mean to.”

Qiao Sisi’s face turned extremely ugly, suppressing the urge to slap her.

This is the program’s uniform!!! There’s no second set!!!

“You did that on purpose, Qiao Ruoxin!”

With an innocent, pitiful little expression, she replied, “I really didn’t, maybe you shouldn’t participate, considering you’re so ugly you won’t stand out anyway.”

“Aaah! Qiao Ruoxin, I’m going to fight you!” Qiao Sisi completely lost her composure and lunged at her.

Everyone present was shocked by her scream.

Qiao Ruoxin stepped back, and immediately someone came forward to hold back Qiao Sisi.

Her rotten stepsister looked like a woman who had lost her mind.

While she stood on the outskirts of the crowd, watching Qiao Sisi go mad.

Why bother with all of this?

Could you imagine your neighbor’s child, suddenly becoming your half-sister one day?

It’s like disgust was knocking on the door of disgust’s mother, disgust paid a full visit to the house!

Utterly disgusting!
