Ch. 11..20

Chapter 11: Is this why you stole a kiss from him? Evening at Jiang Residence Number One, inside the bedroom.

After being embraced by that woman at last night’s party, Mo Chen started to vomit incessantly, even running a fever.

Only at times like this would he be able to get some decent sleep.

He had been asleep for the whole day, with the nanny knocking on the door several times without getting a response.

Exhaustion was written all over Mo Chen’s handsome face, and even in his sleep, his brow was slightly furrowed, perhaps within a dream.

The doorbell rang; as the nanny went to answer it, Wen Wan stood at the door: “Nanny Zhang, is Achen home? I need to see him for a bit.”

The nanny looked troubled: “Master Mo is not feeling well; he is resting in his bedroom.”

Upon hearing the words ‘not feeling well’, Wen Wan walked straight upstairs, ignoring the nanny trying to stop her from behind.

“Miss Wen, Master Mo has instructed not to be disturbed by anyone…”

“Don’t worry, I’ll just take a look; I won’t disturb him.”

Meanwhile.

After a whole day of busyness, Qiao Ruoxin finally finished the promotional shoot, feigning smiles and posing the entire day.

The bodyguard drove her home, and she was so tired she almost fell asleep.

“Miss Qiao, Master Mo isn’t feeling well; would you like to go check on him?”

She immediately became slightly more alert.

Qiao Ruoxin straightened up and looked at the driver: “What’s wrong with him?”

“Last night, it seems he was embraced by a woman, then he couldn’t stop throwing up and even developed a mild fever. The nanny said he’s been sleeping at home for the whole day and hasn’t woken up yet.”

Her heart tightened, and her thick, curled eyelashes trembled slightly.

“Take me to see him! Hurry up!”

Mo Chen’s symptoms were hundreds of times worse than she had imagined.

Qiao Ruoxin’s slender, fair fingers slowly clenched, aching as if pricked by needles.

Half an hour later, the car slowly pulled into the villa’s garage.

Anxious, she pushed open the car door and rushed to the front door, pressing the doorbell.

The nanny just opened the door, looking somewhat surprised, and instinctively tried to stop her because Miss Wen Wan was upstairs…

Qiao Ruoxin pushed past the nanny and made her way upstairs.

Her steps hastened as she reached the master bedroom door, finding it slightly ajar. She gently pushed open the door and walked in.

Then, the scene before her made Qiao Ruoxin first widen her eyes in surprise, then she quickly stepped forward in anger.

Because, at that moment, Wen Wan was leaning in towards the man, her lips about to touch his.

“Mmm…”

Suddenly, Wen Wan’s expression drastically changed as her mouth was covered from behind; someone stopped the impending kiss and pushed her onto the carpet.

Wen Wan looked up to see it was Qiao Ruoxin!

“Wen Wan, it’s been two years, and you’ve really outdone yourself, even learning to steal kisses?” she glanced at the man still asleep behind her, covering him with the dark green blanket.

A flicker of embarrassment passed through Wen Wan’s eyes as she got up from the carpet and fixed her hair.

“In what capacity are you lecturing me now? As an ex-girlfriend? That’s overstepping a bit.”

The bedroom fell silent, even their breathing could be heard.

With arrogance, Qiao Ruoxin crossed her arms and lifted her delicate chin, her voice cold: “Truly shameless, unbeatable across the world. I’ve been gone for two years and you’ve still had no success, do you really think you stand a chance now?”

“Do you know how I became the chief director of ‘Idol 101’? It was because of Mo Chen. When my family’s business was on the brink of bankruptcy, who reached out to help? It was Mo Chen again.”

“So what?”

“So, during the two years you were gone, he hasn’t been bad to me.”

Qiao Ruoxin laughed lightly: “Is that your reason for stealing a kiss? You disgust me, please leave.”

“Qiao Ruoxin, don’t think too highly of yourself.” Wen Wan picked up her bag and turned to leave the bedroom.

Chapter 12: Never Seen You So Well-Behaved The bedroom once again fell silent.

Qiao Ruoxin looked down at the palm of her hand, marked with the lipstick print left by Wen Wan.

She walked towards the bathroom with a look of disgust, washing her hands several times with hand soap.

Returning to the bedside, she sat on the single sofa, propping her cheeks with her hands, and quietly watched the sleeping Mo Chen.

Her gaze inadvertently caught sight of the many medicine bottles placed to one side.

Qiao Ruoxin picked one up to see, imported medicine for improving sleep quality, and others for calming irritable moods, and so on…

Her face stiffened slightly, and she looked up at Mo Chen, questioning if he had to take so many pills every day.

Her heart trembled…

Qiao Ruoxin picked up a thermometer and took the man’s temperature at his wrist—it was still a low fever.

How can he get better, sleeping on without eating or drinking?

“Mo Chen! Wake up… Mo Chen!”

She called out softly twice, and the man lying on the bed suddenly opened his eyes like a fierce beast disturbed from sleep, his eyes dark and stormy, seemingly ready to explode at any moment.

To know Mo Chen exploding was akin to the end of the world.

It was terrifying to the extreme.

She’d been scared half to death by it two years ago.

Qiao Ruoxin wanted to touch his forehead, but she still did not have the courage.

Mo Chen stared at her in silence for a long time, his well-defined, slender fingers supporting his forehead as he sat up, his head splitting with pain.

“How long have I slept?” he asked, his voice low and hoarse, chilling to the bone.

“They said you’ve slept for a day, why don’t you eat something, okay?”

Her beautiful eyes looked at the man, her lashes curled and thick, her small upturned nose delicate, her skin fair and radiant.

Mo Chen’s voice was deep and flat, “I have no appetite.”

“Then I will make something for you myself, will you eat a little?” She coaxed the man with a soft, sweet voice, her temper good.

The man’s handsome face was shrouded in frost, his brows weary with exhaustion, he responded coldly with a “Mm.”

Even with such a cold response, Qiao Ruoxin couldn’t help but laugh happily.

“Okay, then drink some water first. I’ll make something for you, just wait.”

Qiao Ruoxin poured a glass of water for him, then turned and left the bedroom.

Mo Chen, leaning against the bed with the cup in hand, lowered his gaze, a mocking smile appearing on his lips.

Since when had this “Little Ghost” been so caring towards him?

He couldn’t find any memory that matched the scenes from just before.

Qiao Ruoxin cooked personally, preparing a bowl of Tonkotsu Chashu Ramen, a few pan-fried dumplings, and a cup of freshly squeezed juice.

But the housekeeper came to tell her, “Master Mo has gone to the study.”

She could only carry the tray upstairs to the study.

Entering the study, she found Mo Chen working, a stark contrast to the irritable man who had just woken up.

She set the tray down on the desk and pushed it in front of him.

Mo Chen’s fingers paused from typing, then he closed his laptop.

“Finish it all, okay? I went through a lot of trouble to cook this for you.”

Qiao Ruoxin sat opposite him at the desk, her posture signaling she planned to watch him eat.

The man picked up his chopsticks and ate gracefully with an air of elegance and good manners.

Her lips curled into a smile, “That fried egg, I made it very tender especially for you, try it.”

Mo Chen lifted his gaze to her, the intense loathing seemingly hidden in his dark eyes. He spoke with a grave voice, “I’ve never seen you be so obedient. Live long enough, and you’ll see everything.”

“When I came to find you, I happened to see Wen Wan trying to steal a kiss from you,” she mentioned with an offhand tone.

Mo Chen’s pupils dilated sharply as he raised his eyes to her, his voice could freeze over, “What did you say?”

Qiao Ruoxin smiled, “I stopped her. She ended up kissing my palm, so disgusting.”

Hearing her words, Mo Chen’s expression slowly returned to normal, his tone distant, “It is quite disgusting; don’t touch her lips again.”

He would not allow anyone to touch Qiao Ruoxin, not men, and not women either.

“Mm, okay.”

“Did you disinfect it?”

Chapter 13: Don’t You Want to Hug Me? She watched as Mo Chen finished his meal, and then the nanny came up to clear the tray and left.

She also watched Mo Chen work for three hours, until she became sleepy herself.

Mo Chen glanced up at her, his voice deep and indifferent, “If you’re sleepy, go to sleep.”

“If you sleep, I will sleep; if you don’t sleep, I won’t either.”

The man’s fingertips, which had been tapping on the keyboard, paused, followed by a scoff, “What if I decide not to sleep tonight?”

Qiao Ruoxin propped her right hand under her chin, her expressive eyes spinning, “Then I won’t sleep either, to keep you company.”

Mo Chen’s gaze returned to the computer screen, a hint of mockery surfacing in his pitch-black eyes, “He treats you badly, so you came back to me.”

A smile froze on Qiao Ruoxin’s face, panic creeping into her eyes.

“I have no relationship with him; he’s just the son of my stepfather, that’s all.”

The man behind the desk remained silent for a long time, the computer screen went black, and then he suddenly closed the laptop.

He rose from his seat and left the study without paying her any attention.

She sat there, forlorn and heartbroken.

The next second, Qiao Ruoxin stood up and left the study to find him.

In the hallway.

Mo Chen’s tall and aloof figure walked towards the master bedroom, surrounded by a heavy sense of aggression.

Suddenly, his voice came from behind him.

“Mo Chen!”

The man halted in his tracks but did not turn around. Instead, he closed his eyes, his handsome face tensed as if he were enduring something.

Qiao Ruoxin moved to stand in front of him, tilting her chin up slightly to look at his handsome features.

“You seem to have grown taller…” she murmured softly.

After two years, this was the first time she had been this close to him, having forgotten what it was like to stand in front of him before.

After all, Mo Chen wouldn’t let her just stand there in the past; he would have held her and kissed her upon seeing her.

Mo Chen opened his eyes and let out a laugh, one filled with disdain.

Her voice sounded somewhat pitiful, “Don’t you want to hug me? You haven’t hugged me for a long time.”

The man’s burning gaze fixed on her, and the air was so quiet that not even a whisper could be heard.

Qiao Ruoxin slowly moved forward and opened her slender arms.

Carefully, she hugged the man’s waist and rested her cheek against his chest, listening to his strong and steady heartbeat.

The scene was beautiful, like a frame from a comic book. The man was handsome and tall, with broad shoulders, a narrow waist, and long legs, though his handsome face was so cold it could freeze.

Mo Chen looked down at her delicate profile, as if he, ensconced in an ice pond for a thousand years, was slowly melting away.

He lifted his arms and somewhat stiffly embraced the woman in his arms.

But in that instant, many memories from the past flooded his mind, causing him to frown and feel an intense headache.

Two years ago…

He had waited in the cold snow all night, only to have a strange man bring Qiao Ruoxin home, wrapped in the man’s jacket.

He beat that man brutally, blood was everywhere in the snow, and yet Qiao Ruoxin cried and stopped him.

He was almost in disbelief, never having thought that Little Ghost would betray him.

He waited for Qiao Ruoxin’s explanation, only to receive a perfunctory text message breaking up with him, and then she disappeared from the Human World.

Mo Chen’s face changed dramatically, the pain rushed to his heart, and his breathing began to be erratic.

That car accident… he was trapped in the mountains for two days and a night, feeling like he was about to die, but he wasn’t willing to give up!

His woman had dumped him like throwing away trash!

All the memories crashed into his mind, causing chaos!

His head felt like it was about to explode, and the feeling of nausea started to churn again.

Mo Chen roughly pushed away the woman in his arms, stormed into the bedroom, and slammed the door shut.

Qiao Ruoxin was thrown against the hallway wall, the pain causing her to furrow her brow.

She slowly stood up straight, walked to the bedroom door, and then heard a faint sound of running water.

Chapter 14: Otherwise, You Can Only Have Me, No Other Choice Unknown how much time had passed, the bedroom door suddenly opened.

Mo Chen’s face was slightly pale, and his body exuded a chill.

Qiao Ruoxin looked up, her eyes red: “I’m sorry, I made you sad…”

“It’s disgust.”

Her fingertips slowly curled up, and her thick eyelashes trembled.

Mo Chen snorted disdainfully with a cold laugh: “Now the sight of any woman disgusts me. Congratulations, you’ve made me disillusioned with the entire gender.”

“You’ll get better!” she was determined to heal him.

Mo Chen: “Of course, I’ll get better. Do you think I’m going to stay away from women for you forever?”

Qiao Ruoxin swallowed the sour feeling in her heart: “Good, then I’ll wait until you find the woman you love, otherwise you’ll only have me, no other choice.”

With that said, she turned and left, leaving a defiant silhouette: “I’ll just sleep in the room next to yours.”

The man’s expression was solemn as he watched her slender figure.

Love?

It didn’t matter whether there was love or not, Qiao Ruoxin’s life was his to claim!

Qiao Ruoxin entered the adjacent guest room, her mood unable to calm for a long time.

The phone vibrated.

She went over and picked it up, seeing it was an international call, her face colored with displeasure.

She answered the call.

“Have you found your ex-boyfriend? They think you’re still in the United States and are searching for you everywhere.”

“Yeah.”

“Don’t come back anymore. You’ve been my stand-in for two years; it’s time you returned to your own life.”

Qiao Ruoxin scoffed: “I’m so much prettier than you, I’m your stand-in? You’re more like a poor copy of me.”

“He hasn’t really dated for so many years. Let him go.”

“Keep an eye on your male confidant! And stop letting him disgust me!”

She hung up abruptly, flinging the phone onto a single sofa nearby.

Qiao Ruoxin flopped onto the soft bed, truly exhausted.

She just didn’t know if Mo Chen was asleep yet…

Meanwhile.

Next door, Mo Chen was standing on the balcony, smoking one cigarette after another.

The smoke swirled around, making his handsome features seem more brooding.

Looking up at the dark night sky where the moon shone dimly and not a single star was visible.

He started to suffer from insomnia again, his mind filled with thoughts of Qiao Ruoxin by that man’s side for the past two years…

The more he thought, the more he hated, the more eager he became to strangle her with his own hands.

A clear and clean voice suddenly rose: “I knew you wouldn’t be able to sleep.”

At the sound, Mo Chen, with a cigarette dangling from his lips, lazily and indifferently turned to look at the neighboring balcony.

Qiao Ruoxin smiled, leaning on the railing: “How about I sing you a song? Consider it a lullaby.”

The man didn’t speak, just stared at her, as if trying to see through her.

She turned back to her room, and after a while, brought a chair out onto the balcony and fetched a guitar.

Mo Chen stubbed out his cigarette in the ashtray, put his hands in his robe pockets, and watched her expressionlessly.

Qiao Ruoxin sat in the chair, elegantly crossing her legs, holding the guitar, and tested the tuning.

“This is my competition performance piece, giving you the privilege; you’re the first to enjoy it.”

Then, with a sweet curve on her lips, she lowered her gaze and began to play the guitar.

It was Zhang Xuan’s “Baby.”

As the prelude played, the icy night seemed to melt away, filling the air with gentleness.

“My baby, my baby, have a little sweetness, to help you sleep well tonight…”

Her gentle and pure voice struck straight at the man’s rotten heart.

Mo Chen watched her tender downcast eyes, his mind drifting back nine years.

He had been studying abroad since elementary school and once went to school to find Bai Junyan only to come across Little Ghost in the junior section.

He marveled that Little Ghost had grown to 165 centimeters tall at only 12 years old.

Quite the growth spurt.

Quirky, beautiful, and proud.

He thought how fun it would be if he had such a little sister at home.

At 16, Little Ghost was admitted to the film academy, her height topping off at a perfect 170 centimeters, with countless men chasing after her.

He thought again, what if she was his girlfriend…

Of course, it was just a thought.

Chapter 15: The Most Handsome in the Second-Generation Rich Circle By the time Qiao Ruoxin finished playing the last note, Mo Chen spoke in a deep voice, “I’m tired, I’m going to sleep.”

Having said that, he turned indifferently and returned to the bedroom.

“Hey you! What an attitude! So rude!”

She was so maddened she could only laugh, this man was doing it on purpose!

In annoyance, she muttered softly, “Just appease you for now, wait until you’re better and see how I’ll deal with you.”

Qiao Ruoxin couldn’t help but smile helplessly, standing up and walking to the railings.

Looking at the spot where Mo Chen had just stood, she whispered gently, “Good night, Brother Mo Chen.”

The night wind picked up her fluffy and smooth long hair, concealing her delicate little face.

Mo Chen returned to the bedroom, pressed the remote control, and the curtains automatically closed.

His tall frame collapsed heavily onto the bed, staring at the empty crystal chandelier above his head.

The corners of his mouth curved into an indulgent smile.

If he stayed any longer, he probably would have lost control and pounced on Qiao Ruoxin.

Closing his eyes, his mind was filled with the image of Qiao Ruoxin playing the guitar, tender and pure.

Mo Chen slowly opened his eyes and muttered softly, “Good night, Little Ghost.”

He didn’t know if it was the lullaby effect of the song just now.

But he indeed felt a bit sleepy and gradually drifted off to sleep.

The next day, early morning.

Qiao Ruoxin took a bottle of water from the refrigerator and sat down in the living room.

She looked like she had just woken up, wearing a light green robe over a camisole nightgown, lazy and charming.

That exquisite little face was bright and innocent.

Her slender and fair fingers twisted open the cap and she took a few sips of water.

Footsteps echoed downstairs, and Qiao Ruoxin instantly woke up, turning with a smile to look back.

“Brother Mo Chen, you’re awake!”

Mo Chen’s pair of long, straight legs were descending leisurely on the stairs, exuding the vibe of New York Fashion Week.

He was wrapped in a wine-red suit, perfectly tailored, with a black shirt underneath, casually unbuttoned at the top two buttons.

Handsome, abstinent, composed, and sexy.

He put his hands in his pockets, walking down with an indifferent, lazy demeanor.

He responded indifferently, “Hmm.”

Qiao Ruoxin looked at this man and couldn’t help but sigh, his face had the power to thrill a woman, he carried the natural aura of a Crown Prince.

Mo Chen, standing at 188 centimeters tall, a graduate from the computer science department at Stanford University, the son of Asia’s richest man, was a leader in looks among the second-generation wealthy, a tyrant of good looks.

But no one is perfect.

Mo Chen’s flaws were that he was boring, taciturn, arrogant, pathologically obsessive, quick-tempered, and chauvinistic.

When he lost his temper, it was terrifying, utterly beyond control.

Mo Chen arrived in front of her, looking down at her with a high and mighty air, “Keep your phone on 24 hours.”

“I’m going to record a show today, it’s an overnight thing, and they’ll confiscate the phone.”

The man scoffed, “Since when are you so compliant with the rules? Did you listen when I said to stay away from me?”

“…” What a sharp-tongued, unpleasant man!

Mo Chen glanced at her coldly, “Figure it out yourself.”

Having said that, he walked toward the outside of the villa.

She watched his tall figure disappear, “Then you better behave and eat properly, promise me that!”

Mo Chen’s steps paused for a moment, without turning back, he responded, “Got it.”

She really wanted to rush forward and hug him, but remembering that it would cause him such pain, she refrained.

She watched Mo Chen leave with wide eyes as the smile on her lips vanished.

Qiao Ruoxin curled up on the sofa, tears slowly falling and shattering into several pieces.

Seeing Mo Chen like this hurt her deeply, but her actions back then were out of necessity.

Chapter 16: Watching Her Sleep on Video Hengzhong Group, CEO’s office.

The moment the door opened, Wen Wan, who had been sitting on the sofa in the reception area, looked up; she had been waiting for quite some time.

Mo Chen entered the office, his expression darkened upon seeing her.

He sat down on the sofa and looked at Wen Wan impassively, “What’s the matter?”

Wen Wan smiled faintly, “Qiao Ruoxin also joined ‘Idol 101,’ did you know that?”

The man’s attitude was cold, his voice low, “Mm, I know.”

“They plan to use your… past romance with Qiao Ruoxin to stir up popularity, and you’ve allowed it?” Wen Wan’s tone was somewhat displeased.

After all, the program’s producer was a subsidiary of Hengzhong Group, Hengzhong Film Company.

Mo Chen remained expressionless, his voice icy, “Hengzhong Film Company is managed by Bai Junyan, not by me.”

“She betrayed you two years ago, and now she wants to debut by stepping on you! You…”

A touch of irritation flashed across the man’s face, anger taking over as he stood up and shouted angrily, “Get out!”

Wen Wan’s voice stopped abruptly, clearly frightened.

Mo Chen didn’t give her another glance as he turned and walked toward his desk.

Wen Wan still wanted to say something, but hesitated, got up, took her bag, and left the office.

The next second.

The man swept everything off the desk onto the carpet, a clear sign of his agitation.

He took long strides to the window, overlooking the bustling traffic below.

His handsome features were tensed, dark eyes tumultuous with fierce undercurrents.

Why did everyone always have to remind him of what happened two years ago?

After a whole day of filming, Qiao Ruoxin returned to the dormitory arranged by the show’s crew.

After taking a bath, she put on a nightgown and lay alone on the bed.

She secretly took out the cellphone she had hidden earlier and received a video call from Mo Chen.

She adjusted her mood and answered the video call.

She immediately saw Mo Chen’s handsome face on the screen, with a cigarette between his thin lips; the smoke obscured his features.

Qiao Ruoxin frowned slightly, “Why are you smoking again, can’t you sleep?”

“Working overtime.”

Only then did she notice that the background on his side was his office.

“You’re going to stay up all night?”

“Mm, I can’t sleep.”

This man was always so dull, sparing with his words, and pitifully so.

Qiao Ruoxin smiled lightly at the man in her phone, “I’ll keep you company tomorrow night and make sure you go to sleep.”

She saw Mo Chen extinguish the cigarette in the ashtray, his handsome features shrouded in the gloom of the night.

“You go to sleep; I’ll end the video later,” the man said coldly and commandingly.

Did he mean to watch her as she slept?

Qiao Ruoxin felt somewhat helpless but had no choice but to place the phone on the nightstand beside her.

She lay on her side, hiding under the covers, revealing only her face.

“Then I’m going to sleep, good night.”

“Mm.”

Hengzhong Group, CEO’s office.

Mo Chen leaned on the chair behind his desk, watching the tranquil sleeping face on his phone.

The ashtray filled with cigarette butts symbolized his restlessness.

It seemed that only by looking at that face could his raging heart be soothed.

The corner of the man’s lips curled into an indulgent smile as his long, well-defined forefinger touched the face on the screen.

It had been two years since he had seen her asleep like this.

Had that man been watching her sleep like this for the past two years?

Mo Chen felt his heart rot further, tearing with pain.

He abruptly ended the video call.

Chapter 17: Two-Year Breakup Anniversary Early morning.

Qiao Ruoxin opened her eyes, and it was already six o’clock in the morning.

Stretching across the bed, she picked up her phone and glanced at it; the video call had ended at one o’clock in the morning.

So did Mo Chen watch her sleep for an hour?

She got up to wash up, then changed her clothes, did her makeup and hair, and began another full day of recording programs.

When Qiao Ruoxin walked out of the makeup room, she bumped into Wen Wan.

Seeing a love rival was always particularly irritating.

“Qiao Ruoxin, if you had any conscience, you would stop tormenting Mo Chen.”

She smiled faintly, “Are you concerned? Too bad he doesn’t need your pity.”

Wen Wan glared at her angrily, “How can you be so despicable and shameless at such a young age!”

“What are you saying? I think I’m quite cute,” she blinked innocently.

Unable to help herself, Wen Wan rolled her eyes and walked past her.

She snorted disdainfully and turned to leave.

The program recording lasted until seven in the evening, and they finally finished the first two episodes.

Qiao Ruoxin, with a tired expression, was ready to go back and rest when her phone rang.

She answered wearily, “Hello…”

“Little sister Qiao, hurry to No. 7 Mansion,” Bai Junyan’s voice came through.

She sat up straight, a bit puzzled, “What for?”

“Today is the two-year anniversary of your breakup with Mo Chen, let’s celebrate, hurry over.”

Beep… Beep…

A two-year breakup anniversary… and it’s celebrated???

Staring at the phone screen that showed the call had ended, she was utterly baffled.

But she still told her bodyguard, “Go to No. 7 Mansion.”

Half an hour later, Qiao Ruoxin arrived at No. 7 Mansion.

This was a private club where only the rich and elite could enter; it operated on a membership system with top-notch security measures.

After entering the private room, she found that everyone was there, except for Mo Chen.

Did these rich kids have nothing better to do?

Lan Ke was embraced by Bai Junyan, sitting on a single sofa.

“Little sister Qiao, sit over here,” Ji Haochuan spoke up.

After two years, seeing Mo Chen’s circle of fair-weather friends again felt strangely intimate.

Qiao Ruoxin took a seat in the center and glanced at Lan Ke, “Did you guys also celebrate his one year breakup anniversary?”

“That night, Master Mo drank until he had a bleeding stomach,” Lan Ke said seriously.

Her heart tightened, and her thick eyelashes trembled uneasily.

At that moment, Mo Chen finally made an appearance.

The server pulled aside the door of the private room; Mo Chen had changed into a black suit, his hands in his trouser pockets, entering the room with an indifferent expression.

He sat down next to Qiao Ruoxin, emotionless.

Bai Junyan suddenly spoke up, “Congratulations to both of you on your two-year breakup anniversary, that’s not easy! I’ll dedicate a song, ‘Decency,’ to you both.”

Lan Ke, “Then I can only sing ‘Happy Breakup.”

Ji Haochuan, “We need the classic ‘Breakup Always Happens on a Rainy Day.'”

Gu Mocheng, “Queue up ‘What Kind of Man Is This’ for me.”

Lu Siheng, “…”

Qiao Ruoxin, “…”

These people were clearly here to wreck the place!

Mo Chen’s handsome face was taut, his complexion dark, and he cursed, “Fuck…”

He glanced at Qiao Ruoxin next to him and commanded, “Let’s go, home.”

Then, Mo Chen got up, ready to leave.

Ji Haochuan hurriedly stopped him, “Hey hey hey, it’s not easy for us to get together, can’t we just not sing?”

Just then, the private room door was pushed open again, and Wen Wan walked in.

“Why does it seem like you’re about to leave as soon as I arrive?”

Chapter 18: Truth or Dare Mo Chen lifted his gaze for a moment, then sat back down, picking up a glass of alcohol and downing it in one gulp.

Qiao Ruoxin watched him drink and thought about how Lan Ke had just mentioned he’d drunk himself into a bleeding stomach.

“You should drink less.”

The man responded indifferently, “Mm.”

Bai Junyan saw Wen Wan and teased, “Wen Wan, you’re late, that deserves a penalty drink.”

“Isn’t it all for your work, President Bai?”

Lan Ke started to suggest, “Let’s play a game! Whoever loses does truth or dare, and no one is allowed to escape tonight!”

Everyone gathered around, ready to start the game.

Mo Chen, however, still sat in the distance and spoke in a low and indifferent voice, “You guys play, I won’t join in.”

Being the scholarly type, he’d always been uninterested in such things, always such a dull man.

Qiao Ruoxin obediently turned back to him and said, “Then you watch over me, I don’t want to lose.”

The man didn’t say anything, but he stood up and walked over to sit behind her.

Ji Haochuan asked, “What are we playing? ‘The Heart of Germany’?”

“Yeah! That’s the one!” Lan Ke’s face lit up with excitement.

Qiao Ruoxin sat in the middle and suddenly felt moved by the lively atmosphere. It had been so long since it was this lively.

She was finally back…

But what she hadn’t expected was that she lost the first round.

Lan Ke wore a malicious smile, “Little Sister Qiao, truth or dare, pick one!”

Qiao Ruoxin glanced at the man behind her and smiled faintly, “Truth.”

Mo Chen was sitting on the single sofa, holding a glass of alcohol, his dark eyes swiftly passing over her profile.

“Then I won’t hold back! Qiao Ruoxin! Tell me aloud, who did you give your first night to?”

As soon as these words came out!

The atmosphere in the entire private room became eerily tense.

Wen Wan, who was organizing cards, suddenly tensed up, fearful yet eager to know the answer.

Mo Chen slightly narrowed his eyes and finished the remaining alcohol in his glass in one gulp, with an it’s-not-my-business attitude.

All eyes were now focused on Qiao Ruoxin, waiting for her answer.

Qiao Ruoxin spoke somewhat amusedly, “I knew you would ask this. My first love, first kiss, and first night all went to Mo Chen. Can we stop asking now?”

Bai Junyan, full of curiosity, asked, “How old were you?”

Qiao Ruoxin glanced at him, “Eighteen.”

Ji Haochuan remarked, “So that was when Mo Chen was 24? He’s got some restraint.”

Gu Mocheng commented, “On that note, he’s at least a man.”

Mo Chen: “…”

Lu Siheng: “…”

Wen Wan’s face paled at this point, her gaze towards Mo Chen full of disbelief.

But the man looked indifferent, neither confirming nor denying, as he lit a cigarette and placed it between his lips, inhaling and exhaling elegantly, his handsome face looking sexy.

Wen Wan could not believe Mo Chen had actually slept with Qiao Ruoxin. How could that be possible!

A group of people discussing such a topic…

Qiao Ruoxin felt her cheeks heating up slightly, and she coughed twice, “I’ll go to the restroom.”

After she left, Wen Wan followed as well.

In the restroom.

Qiao Ruoxin stood in front of the washbasin, looking at her reflection in the mirror.

Suddenly, there was someone else behind her, Wen Wan.

“What you just said wasn’t true, was it? Mo Chen didn’t admit it.”

She laughed lightly, “But he also didn’t deny it.”

Wen Wan: “If it’s true, do you as a girl know what modesty is? To do such a shameless thing?”

Qiao Ruoxin couldn’t help laughing, “Wen Wan, are you even a woman? It was he who couldn’t hold back, and you don’t scold him but come to scold me instead? Indeed, women are the most critical of other women.”

“Even if he accidentally made a mistake, it must have been because you seduced him! He’s never been that kind of person!”

After saying that, Wen Wan left without looking back.

She was laughing out of exasperation.

Wen Wan indeed was Mo Chen’s number-one blind follower.

Chapter 19: The Safest Distance is Three Steps Qiao Ruoxin returned to find the group already starting their second game.

She saw Mo Chen sitting there alone, smoking, his towering silhouette appearing somewhat despondent.

She walked over and stood in front of the man, blocking the light in front of his eyes.

The man looked up at her, his handsome features shrouded in a layer of faint laziness and ruffian charm, with smoke swirling around him.

With a slight smile on her lips, her beautiful eyes blinked, “They say the safest distance between a man and a woman is three steps.”

She sat down three steps away from Mo Chen, smiling sweetly at him, “Do I look beautiful to you from this distance?”

Mo Chen narrowed his eyes slightly, his pupils reflecting the delicate face as he responded in a low, muffled voice, “Yeah…”

In the noisy private room, the two of them just looked at each other like that.

Qiao Ruoxin looked at the man’s sexy jawline, which had gotten a bit thinner than two years before.

His Adam’s apple bobbed once and he extinguished the unfinished cigarette in the ashtray, diverting his gaze.

If he stared at those eyes for ten seconds, he couldn’t help wanting to kiss her.

Even though he couldn’t even touch women now.

It was laughable, really.

Even though he was nearly a wreck, his body still uncontrollably lost control at the sight of Little Ghost.

Yet, the thought of women made him feel nauseous.

But he still wanted to possess her, to own her!

Even if he had to vomit out all the bitterness, he still wanted her!

Every drop of blood in his body boiled, clamoring to ravish her! To make her cry!

He wondered if he was truly becoming mentally disturbed?

Mo Chen suppressed the urge inside him and downed a glass of liquor in one gulp.

Qiao Ruoxin, who was beside him, couldn’t stand it anymore.

She got up, walked over, poured a glass of water for him, and placed it in front of him, “Stop drinking, have some water!”

Her sudden approach sent a flash of panic through Mo Chen’s dark eyes, and he said sharply, “Stay away from me!”

This sudden anger quieted the whole room.

Dead silence…

Those who were enjoying themselves turned their heads almost simultaneously to look.

Qiao Ruoxin closed her eyes, took a deep breath, and went back to her seat.

Because at this moment, Mo Chen’s complexion looked a bit awful, and his breathing became a bit rapid.

Wen Wan immediately stood up, “Mo Chen, are you feeling unwell? Should we call a doctor?”

“It’s nothing, you guys have fun, I’m leaving first.”

Having said that, Mo Chen stood up, his handsome face taut, the hostility around him growing more intense.

He looked at Qiao Ruoxin sitting there, her watery eyes looking pitiful.

“Walk in front of me,” he said in a low, cold voice.

Qiao Ruoxin didn’t speak, got up, and left the private room first.

The man followed three steps behind her, his tall figure enveloping the woman.

The door closed behind them.

Everything returned to normal.

Wen Wan felt some heartache, “He’s clearly in pain, his face has changed color, why does he still want to leave with Qiao Ruoxin?”

“Don’t you understand? Even if it kills him, he won’t let go,” said Bai Junyan.

Lan Ke sighed, “This is probably what love is to Master Mo, sick and obsessive.”

The underground parking lot.

As she walked ahead, she could even hear the deep footsteps of the man behind her.

When they reached the white Ferrari, she pulled open the car door and sat down in the passenger seat.

Mo Chen then sat in the driver’s seat, buckled his seat belt, and slowly drove out of the parking lot.

Qiao Ruoxin looked at his tense jawline, feeling that he was holding back.

“Should I have the bodyguard come to pick me up?”

“No need.”

“Oh… Did I make you uncomfortable again?”

Mo Chen looked at her, his sudden irritability erupting, “Cut the crap!”

Chapter 20: Mo Chen! Look at me! Hold me! Qiao Ruoxin’s bright eyes stared at him, and she asked earnestly, “Do you want it? You haven’t taken care of your physical needs for a long time, have you?”

Before she could finish, the man’s volcano suddenly erupted.

“Shut your mouth for me!”

No wonder she was once his woman!

She really fucking knows him!

Could she even tell that he was in need???

Mo Chen, at this moment, was as irritable as a wild beast, and a hint of embarrassment appeared on his handsome face.

His dark eyes reflected Qiao Ruoxin’s delicate little face.

His mind was filled with images of their previous passionate entanglements, tormenting him, torturing him.

It was as if thousands of ants were gnawing at him, uncontrollably irritable.

He suddenly stepped on the accelerator, driving away from there, at a racing speed…

“Okay, okay, I won’t talk anymore, keep calm, Mo Chen!”

The cold wind slipped through the car window, ruffling her gentle long hair, which hid the panic on her face.

Mo Chen’s complexion looked awful, his breathing became heavy: “Shut up! I’m feeling uncomfortable now, I can’t control myself!”

Having said that, he started to speed up again, racing along the road, and a murderous intent appeared in those pitch-black eyes.

He wanted to smash things, punch someone, take medicine…

The rage inside his body was like a devastating flood beast, constantly wanting to burst out.

Qiao Ruoxin didn’t dare to speak, sitting quietly on the side, watching him race back to Jiang Mansion Number One.

She saw the man unbuckling his seat belt irritably, his back full of aggressiveness.

Then, as soon as she entered, she heard the sound of things being smashed.

She saw Mo Chen smashing things as he walked, kicking over the coffee table in the living room, leaving a mess everywhere…

The villa was pitch dark, she followed Mo Chen upstairs.

Upon seeing Mo Chen enter the bedroom, taking out several bottles of medicine, and eating them frantically, he looked like an uncontrollable wild beast.

This scene was shocking to the eyes.

Qiao Ruoxin suddenly stepped forward and hugged the man’s body from behind: “Mo Chen! Don’t take the medicine so frantically!”

At the moment her arms wrapped around the man’s waist, his face instantly turned pale.

He reflexively pushed her away.

Qiao Ruoxin fell onto the carpet and stubbornly stood up, walking around to the front of the man.

“Mo Chen! Look at me! Hold me!”

Mo Chen frowned, enduring the rage inside his body, his fists clenched, knuckles cracking.

He looked very pained, growling: “Get lost!!!”

The bedroom was in complete darkness, with only the dim moonlight from outside the window spilling in.

Qiao Ruoxin bit her lower lip and moved forward to hug the man’s body.

Mo Chen once again pushed her roughly against the wall beside him.

Her slender body hit the wall, it hurt a bit, but she endured and walked over to hug the man’s tall body again.

“Mo Chen! Are you going to never touch a woman again?”

Qiao Ruoxin tightly hugged the man’s waist, clearly feeling his mermaid line abs.

She didn’t know how many times she had been pushed away by the man, but in the end, her elbow was bruised, and it hurt a bit.

But she persistently approached and hugged the man’s body, her voice soft and tender: “Brother Mo Chen, don’t push me away, just a hug is fine, there’s nothing wrong… you are normal, you are not sick.”

Qiao Ruoxin’s clean and soft voice patiently soothed his irritability.

Gradually, Mo Chen seemed to adjust and did not push Qiao Ruoxin away again.

He stood there stiffly, being hugged by the woman in his arms, comforted…

His handsome face was tense, emotionlessly looking down at Qiao Ruoxin’s delicate profile, while the rotten heart in his chest showed signs of revival.
