Ch. 2161..2170
The Divorced Heiress Revenge Chapter 2161-The next four days were uneventful but enriching.
Together with Justin, Bella visited Nigel and stayed at his place for the night. They even had a video call with Ryan and Carrie. The newlyweds had been to three countries for their honeymoon and were setting off to the next scenic view.
“Justin, Bella… Christopher is wanted by the police. Do you think he fled to Sentania?"
While Carrie left to take her meds, Ryan looked at the couple in the video, with worry written all over his face. "I know you two well enough to be sure that you'd rush to Sentania to catch that bastard. I can't help but worry. I want to be there for you too."
"If you are really concerned about us, the only thing you need to do is stay by Carrie's side."
Resting in Justin's arms, Bella said solemnly, "Drill it in your head, Ryan. No matter what happens, you must watch over Carrie. Don't ever forget how you got her. No one is more important than Carrie."
To emphasize a point, Bella added. “Even Justin isn't as important as Carrie."
Ryan looked at Justin and cleared the air. "That didn't come from me, Justin."
“It's okay. She's right.” Justin put his head down and chuckled, nibbling on Bella's ear. “Between you and my wife, my wife matters most.” Bella squirmed, unable to stand the itch.
Ryan held his chest in the video. "You got me where it hurts, bro."
“Camilla and Edward will dispatch enough security to ensure our safety in Sentania. Don't worry."
Bella smiled brightly, her nerves not showing. "You and Carrie have gone to many places. We will be expecting souvenirs!"
"Of course." Ryan fell silent before uttering grimly, "Carrie and I will wait for your safe return."
Justin and Bella responded, "Don't worry. We will."
For some reason, Bella felt empty, her mind blank after the video call.
"It's nearly time, Bella."
Justin put his arm around Bella's shoulders and planted a kiss on her forehead, his voice husky. "We should make a move."
"Yeah," Bella murmured as their heads met.
"Go down with us? I won't let that happen."
Bella clutched Justin's shirt. "Not on my watch."
Emotional, Justin gripped her neck and held his nose close against hers as their breaths mingled.
"He cares about you. He loves you."
"I know, but so what?" Bella kissed his lips. "It's time to finish this. I'met going to face him once and for all. I'll end this twisted love myself."
KS Group's private jet landed at the airport of Sentania's capital city in the wee hours of the morning.
That night, Asher, Justin, and Bella were escorted straight to the president's house by the secret service. "Camilla! Edward!"
Bella developed a carefree nature from rightanding years abroad. Feeling home at the president house, Bella embraced Camilla.
"You got me worried sick, Bella."
The Divorced Heiress Revenge Chapter 2162-Camilla nuzzled Bella's cheek and whined, "When will you save us both a headache? Stop putting yourself in danger."
“This is the last time. I won't do it again." Bella stuck her tongue out cheekily.
"I can't let you stay at the hotel, so you're staying with us. Only the palace and the president's house are the safest." Edward smiled tenderly, still the elegant gentleman he was.
His few strands of silver hair were a testament to the countless hours he had spent laboring and worrying as the leader of a nation.
"Edward suggested you stay with us, and I can't agree more."
Camilla looked lovingly at her husband. "Edward doesn't show it, but he misses you all."
Touched, Bella sniffled. "Thank you, Edward."
Justin was moved. "I appreciate your concern, Edward."
"We're family. Now is the time we should be there for one another more than ever." Edward drew close, hugged his wife, and looked deep into her eyes.
Though they had been married for a long time, they remained in love just as the first time they got together.
"I'm so envious of your marriage, Camilla."
Asher sipped on tea and smiled widely. "Dad and Aunt Mila have been worried since you moved to Sentania. At least I can go back and tell them that they have nothing to worry about."
"Camilla is the love of my life."
Despite his power, Edward remained humble. Like always, he treated the Thompsons with respect. "I will always remember the butterflies in my stomach when I first met her. I remember everything we went through during our relationship and marriage. I will always remember it and cherish Camilla."
Camilla, the first wife of Sentania, blushed and snuggled in Edward's arms.
No matter how high he rose, Edward remained true to Camila.
Justin pursed his lips, feeling the burden as the Thompsons' next son-in-law.
“Please put in a good word for me once you get back to Hatchbay and see your parents. Edward grinned embarrassedly. Even in his forties, Edward still had a lot to learn about love.
Asher nodded in relief and teased, "Of course. You can count on me, Mr. President."
Edward did not know how to react. "Give me a break."
The arrival of family members filled the solemn president's abode with warmth.
However, everybody knew that it was just the calm before the storm.
Edward called the captain of the secret service and police chief over to have a meeting with Justin and Asher regarding tomorrow's mission. Though Drew had arrived in Sentania, he was nowhere to be found.
Bella understood that Drew was under a lot of stress.
Drew needed to cool his head and have zero distractions to face an imminent crisis.
Bella may look relaxed, but she was filled with jitters too.
Somehow she wandered to the study with the door left ajar. Ough the crack, she saw Camilla tidying up the piled documents on Edward's desk. "Camilla." In the presence of family, Bella forgot she was in the heavily secured president's house ande stepped into the study. "What are you doing?" "I was just sorting things out for Edward, Bella." Camilla, a devoted wife, carried on the task at hand.
She would be wary and cautious in the face of others, but Bella was family. She trusted Bella completely.
"I'll help you." Bella rolled up her sleeves and went to tidy the books on the coffee table.
"Thank you."
Camilla smiled wryly. "Edward net excels in everything he does, except when it comes to taking care of himself. He broke the washing machine and nearly set the kitchen on fire. If I ever take my eyes away from him for one second, he can button up his shirt wrongly for an event." "He has a lot on his mind, serving the country and the people. With so much going on, he doesn't have much attention for anything else." Suddenly, Bella paused and glanced at the bottom stack of papers under a book.
Curious, Bella reached out to pull the papers out.
The Divorced Heiress Revenge Chapter 2163-Bella flipped through the document for a closer look.
The print in red made her realize that it was a confidential document.
Prying into another country's secrets was dishonest and improper behavior, but it was too late. She had already turned the page.
Soon, she discovered that these materials were likely submitted by the state security bureau, containing information on spies who had harmed Sentania's national interest over the years. They were likely fugitives at large, yet to be arrested and brought to justice.
These individuals were either born into privilege, elites in their right, or highly ranked.
The crimes they committed were shocking and deserved the death penalty.
Bella went through the document quickly. Her great memory would make her the perfect spy.
She quickly read through everything and remembered it all.
By the eleventh file, she narrowed her eyes.
Unlike the previous files, the photo section was left empty.
[Name: Nadia Brown] [Age: 25 years old] [A former captain of the royal special force and a member of Sentania's secret spies. She was sentenced to death for stealing state secrets and colluding with the enemy. She fled to avoid execution.] Bella stared at the words, clenching the paper unconsciously. She felt suffocated.
[The traitor fled by jumping into the sea three decades ago. Due to the investigation yielding no results and the statute of limitations having expired, the cabinet has decided to drop all criminal charges against her, pending the president's approval.] The document was signed by King George of Sentania and stamped with the royal family's scal.
Edward had not put his signature on the papers, probably due to his busy work schedule. "Bella? Bella?"
Camilla tried snapping Bella out of her trance, but the latter was unresponsive.
Bella stared intently at the name on the document as a sense of familiarity rose within her.
She was a Brown and from Sentania. She was 25 when she jumped into the sea to escape execution thirty years ago.
These pieces of information fit her mother's description.
Could it be a coincidence?
Strangely enough, only Nadia's among the other files had the king's signature. It felt like a deliberate attempt to emphasize Nadia's importance and remind Edward to sign and approve it.
Bella's heart thumped out of her chest.
Coincidences happen all the time. However, when several coincidences occurred all at once, it was unlikely to be a series of random incidents.
"Oh, no." Camilla drew close and saw Bella going through her husband's confidential document. She pulled the papers out of Bella's hands. "You can't read this, Bella. Even I will make myself scarce when Edward is reviewing documents."
"S-Sorry, Camilla." Bella looked dazed.
"It's okay." Finding herself dramatic, Camilla felt bad and went to hug Bella. "You didn't mean to. It's Edward's fault for his bad habit. He shouldn't leave important papers lying around."
As Camilla put away the document, Bella said in a hoarse voice, "Camilla, I…"
"What's the matter?"
Camilla looked at Bella's discolored face in confusion and asked with concern, "You look sick, Bella. Is it jet lag? Should I get the house doctor to take a look at you?"
"Camilla… I-I…" A million thoughts raced through Bella's mind. In the end, she hung her head helplessly. "I'm alright. Don't worry about me."
After much thought, she realized the matter was too serious to discuss with Camilla under such circumstances.
For one, Camilla, the First Lady, could be accused of leaking classified information, and it would damage Edward's reputation.
Secondly, if Nadia was Bella's mother, she could start an uproar in a foreign land for launching an investigation recklessly. It would only give Christopher and other malicious parties ammunition to exploit.
Though it had been years since her mother's passing, her father was very much alive. Capturing Christopher was the primary objective, and she could afford to delay this investigation.
The Divorced Heiress Revenge Chapter 2164-Besides, Bella was not completely certain if Nadia was her mother.
Acting recklessly would only warrant trouble.
"The last few days must have taken a toll on you. You should head back for a rest." Camilla teared up, feeling bad for Bella.
The Thompsons may appear to be a serious bunch, but in reality, they were incredibly romantic, free-spirited, and self-centered. They would do and sacrifice anything to pursue their happiness.
It was the sort of self-serving righteousness.
Only Bella held the responsibility as the heiress on her frail shoulders. She threw herself into the shady side of the corporate world to protect the family and defend her father's empire.
Bella had the gentleness, wits, and beauty of a woman and the strength, decisiveness, and bravery of a man.
She was the chosen heiress.
However, not everybody could bear the weight of the crown.NôvelD(ram)a.ôrg owns this content.
The door to the study opened, and Edward entered.
"Edward." Camilla went up to him with a smile. Though they had been married for years, she was as bashful as ever.
Edward looked at the organized study and sighed in remorse. He pulled Camilla into his arms.
"Sorry, the meeting took too long. We agreed to tidy the study together, but you handled it all on your own. It won't happen again."
"It's nothing major. Don't worry about it." Camilla blushed, feeling embarrassed to be lovey -dovey in front of Bella.
"Is everything ironed out, Edward?" Bella straightened herself out and acted normal.
"The secret service and the special force will assist you in capturing Christopher and his accomplices tomorrow."
Edward looked worried. "I advised Ash and Justin against going to the scene, warning them of potential dangers, but they ignored me and insisted on overseeing things themselves."
"Justin isn't there to take charge. He will be the first one on the scene." Bella was concerned. No one knew Justin better than her.
"While they will wear bulletproof vests, the danger levels will be high. Don't worry, Bella. I will do everything in my power to keep them safe." Edward was solemn.
Bella curled her lips faintly. "Thank you, Edward."
"It will be chaos tomorrow, Edward. Are you still attending the museum's opening ceremony?" Camilla asked worriedly.
"I will." Edward was firm on that note. "You know me. I can't go back on my promise."
Camilla responded, "I'll go with you."
"Stay here at the president's house and watch over Bella."
Edward declined. "I've stationed guards in the house, but all the men will be on duty tomorrow. I'm not comfortable leaving Bella here alone."
Camilla sighed and nodded. "Alright. Please be extra careful. I'll keep watch of Bella."
Bella returned to her room in a daze. Justin, big and tall as he was, walked out of the bathroom.
"I drew the bath for you, Bella."
Sweat gathered on Justin's forehead. His well-defined arms under the rolled sleeves of his white shirt painted a sexual tension.
"Okay," Bella responded nonchalantly while wandering off to the bathroom.
Suddenly, a pair of strong but gentle arms held Bella from the back.
Justin locked his arms around Bella's body, his breath mingling along her neck. The tingling sensation drenched her skin.
"Do you want to take a bath together?" Hiding his desire behind his eyes, Justin reached his hand into her blouse and unhooked her bra.
This was clearly a sweet part of their daily routine.
"Justin." Before, Bella would have melted in his arms by now.
Her composure tonight left Justin feeling uneasy.
"Hm?" Justin's breath hitched, and he turned her around to face him. "Do you have something on your mind, Bella?"
"Justin…" Bella's lashes fluttered, and her voice was raspy as she asked, "My mother fled to Hatchbay back then. Do you think she was a fugitive from Sentania?"
The Divorced Heiress Revenge Chapter 2165-Justin was stunned.
He picked up on Bella's little mood the moment she walked through the door.
With her question throwing him for the loop, Justin wrapped his arms around Bella's waist, his muscles bulging. He rubbed his hand on her belly.
"What happened, Bella? Why do you ask?"
"Justin, I..." Bella looked distressed.
"You don't have to talk about it if you don't want to. Even though we are a couple, you're not obliged to."
Struck by a thought, Justin held her tighter and rested his chin on her shoulder for a snuggle. "My Bella will always be a highly independent and confident woman. Even though we're a couple, you can still have your little secrets. I won't interfere in any way." Justin's understanding only made Bella tear up and jump into his arms to whimper. She would not trust anybody else's concern for her, but she had complete faith in Justin. Without Justin to share her deepest thoughts with, she might feel so overwhelmed with emotions.
"Don't cry, Bella." Justin consoled her huskily.
He frantically patted her trembling back, but he held back from asking questions.
"I saw a document in Edward's study, Justin. The papers talked about a spy named Nadia Brown who fled over thirty years ago. The woman's age and experience reminded me of my mother."
Bella's tear-stained face buried in Justin's chest, soaking his white shirt and emotions, "I'm afraid that Nadia might just be my mother."
Justin's eyes bulged as he tightened his grip around her waist.
Bella quivered, and her voice choked with sobs.
"Dad has always been evasive about Mom. Aunt Mila said that Cameron found Mom by the beach. Everything seems to be mysteriously connected to Mom in some way. Maybe... She's really..."
"What do you plan to do if the woman is your mother, Bella?" Justin leaned into her ear and spoke huskily. His voice was reassuring.
"I want the truth."
Bella picked her head up and met Justin's deep eyes.
Still, she said stubbornly, "I want to know why the captain of the Sentania Royal Special Force would betray the country and be sentenced to death."
As his heart sank, Justin held her tight and said, "Alright. Once we deal with Christopher, I will investigate the truth with you."
"There's one more thing."
Justin looked puzzled. "What?"
"Once this is over, shouldn't you change the form of address like Arnold?" Bella pursed her luscious lips and blushed.
Overwhelmed with emotions, Justin could not stop the tears in his eyes and the tremor in his lips.
He locked fingers with Bella and said tearfully, "Bella, thank you for waiting for me. Thank you for giving me another chance."
In the end, the pair enjoyed a nice bath together.
Exhausted from the travel and intense days of planning, Bella fell asleep on Justin's chest before the latter could romance her in the bath.
The Divorced Heiress Revenge Chapter 2166-Night fell.
Justin wiped Bella dry and dressed her in a silk nightgown. He carried her up and placed her gently on the bed before tucking her in.
He was a considerate husband, caring for his lover well.
His callus-filled hands once strived in the military academy, fought on the battlefield, and struggled in the corporate world. Yet now, the same pair of hands handled Bella in the gentlest manner.
He did not wake her up.
Bella was fast asleep, whimpering comfortably at times.
She was pure delight.
Justin swallowed hard and leaned over to caress her hair. He kissed her forehead and her lips.
Then he left the bedroom and went to the balcony.
Savrow experienced a bitter winter at the end of December, while Sentania enjoyed a gentle, moist breeze.
Justin pondered deeply at Bella's words before taking out his phone and dialing a long-forgotten number.
"Holy shit! Did my eyes deceive me?" A man's shocked voice came on the line. "I can't believe I'm still on your mind, Justin."
Justin took a deep breath, his voice filled with resignation and remorse. "I'm sorry. It's been years since we last got in touch. This is rude of me."
"Don't say that, brother. I have never deleted your number. I've been waiting for the day you would contact me. I have always hoped that you haven't forgotten me, my friend."
The person on the other end of the line softened his voice and choked. "We fought to keep our countries safe. Even though we were on different teams, we fought alongside each other and formed a friendship on the battlefield despite our nationalities and ages. Those experiences continue to inspire me
to this day. I will never forget them."
"Me too. I can't and never will forget those experiences." Justin's veins bulged, and his lashes fluttered as he gripped the railing.
"The battle was brutal. We lost many beloved brothers-in-arms."
The man sounded dejected, his voice hoarse. "That's not the only thing. We were diagnosed with severe PTSD. It took me especially long just to function as a normal human being."
Justin hung his head low, and his breathing became heavy.
No one could get used to death.
As one familiar face after another fell before his eyes, the overwhelming shock and pain took Justin three full years to gradually overcome. During this time, they had not been in touch. One was living in Savrow, while the other resided in Sentania.
It was not that Justin did not want to, but he was afraid of disrupting the man's recovery. His presence may trigger painful memories.
"Either way, it's all in the past.” Justin curled his lips in relief. “From the sound of your voice, I know that you have made it out.”
"We aren't ordinary people. We are decorated veterans!" The man was proud.
"I'm not. I'm just a businessman and an ordinary husband." Justin could feel his eyes welling up.
"Oh, my. Are you married? How could you not tell me?!"
Justin beamed. “Not yet, but soon. Will you attend my wedding?"
"Of course! I'll get there even if I have to swim from Sentania." The man asked Curiously, "Are you getting marded to the little dove you always dreamed of?"
The Divorced Heiress Revenge Chapter 2167-The smile on Justin's face froze as bitterness took over.
The girl rescued him from the brink of death and dragged him back from the battlefield. She was injured time and again, and her fate was uncertain all because of him.
He had never once forgotten about the girl and tried everything in his power to track her down.
Justin wanted to express his gratitude and repay her for saving his life.
After leaving Kridor, the little dove disappeared without a trace. Justin even suspected that she was no longer on this earth.
"It's not her." Justin looked at the star-filled sky in the distance, his eyes welling up. However, he quickly gathered himself and responded, "But she's a brave and determined lady like the little dove. We went through a lot together. She's the love of my life, and I love her."
"I know you, brother. You look like you got it together, but once you fall in love, you'll give your everything to make her happy." The man expressed, "Your wife is lucky."
"No. I'm lucky to have her." Justin kept his head down to hide his embarrassment. "I hurt her in many ways; I don't deserve her."
"Oh, my God. You were the top student in your country's military academy and the highest-scoring member of our unit. Yet you don't deserve her? I hope I get the chance to meet her." The man sighed. "Sigh, I caught a quick glimpse of the little dove back then. I didn't think we wouldn't see her again. I feel sorry for you and little dove, brother."
"Don't be. We might meet her again someday." Justin pressed his lips together and expressed lightheartedly, "If fate wills it, we will meet again." "That's true. I hope so." The man then changed the subject. "I'm sure you didn't call me in the middle of the night just to catch up.
Justin tensed his jawline and pursed his lips.
The man said, "It's been years since we got in touch, but our friendship remains. You took a bullet for me back then, and our friendship goes beyond that. Don't hesitate to ask me for anything."
"You took the time to get better after you retired from the force. Did you join the royal special force once you recovered?"
"That's right."
"Are you still working for the royal family now?"
"This is my last year with the Royal Special Force. I'll be assigned to the National Security Bureau come spring next year." Justin's mind started to race.
Having connections to Sentania, the royal family, and the National Security Bureau could not come at a better time.
"When you were with the Royal Special Force, have you heard of someone named Nadia Brown? She was the captain of the Royal Special Force." "Jesus… How do you know about her?" The man was surprised.
Justin gripped the banister. "So you know her?"
"Tell me about your association with her. How do you know about her?"
Justin contemplated for a moment. His voice was deep. "She was an old friend of my mother who helped our family a fet. I've been meaning to find her for years now, to thank her in person and honor my mother's memory." Bella must be rubbing off on him because he had never lied before.
Now, Justin could make up a story at the drop of a hat.
He shouldered the responsibility, understanding the delicate nature of Bella's mother's past.
If the truth were to get out, trouble may come to Bella and her family.
Justin had to play it safe and not take chances.
"I see…". The man fell silent for a moment before sighing emotionally. "Nadia is well known among the royal family, but no one outside the family knows about her. The royal family keeps hush on information about her."Furrowing his brows, Justin asked eagerly, "Why, though?"
"I'm in the middle of the job transition now, so I can speak freely about certain things. Once I join the National Security Bureau, I'll be bound by strict confidentiality rules."
The Divorced Heiress Revenge Chapter 2168-Justin said, "I understand. I get it."
"Whatever I tell you tonight stays between us. I'm telling you this because I trust you. You're not from Sentania anyway, so it doesn't matter if you know." The man's voice turned husky. "Nadia is the king's personal bodyguard, but there were rumors that she was the king's lover."
Justin's mind went blank. "Lover?"
"I don't know the details since I was quite young when she was sentenced to death. I heard about the royal secrets through people I came across while working here over the years."
The man carried on. "Apparently, the king was deeply in love with Nadia, and they were intimate. She even carried the king's baby. I don't know why she was given the death penalty for treason. She fled and went missing for over thirty years. She might be dead somewhere out there."
Justin turned pale, and the veins along his hand on the banister bulged.
The bombshell was quite a lot to process.
"If she was loyal to the king, why would she become a spy?"
"That's the kicker. There have been rumors that the queen persecuted Nadia. Have you watched the soap operas surrounding royal families? There's always drama in the family. Besides, Nadia became a personal bodyguard not long after the queen married the king, but she was pregnant ahead of the queen. It would be a disgrace to the queen. The queen wouldn't put up with her. I'm not surprised if the queen had something to do with it." Justin felt churning in his stomach.
If Nadia was indeed Bella's mother, and the rumors were right, then Bella's mother had a dangerous past.
It would be easy to get sucked into the drama.
“Here's a word of advice, brother. It's better to stop what you're doing and stay away from the royal family." The man urged kindly, “There's a grain of truth in some of the rumors you hear about the royal family."
"Thank you, bro. But I have gotten this far. I can't give up." Justin took a deep breath and clenched his fists. "Please let me know if you hear anything new about Nadia. I'm not afraid of trouble and danger. I just want to know the truth."
Bella was startled awake from her nightmare at 4:00 a.m., cold sweat drenching her nightgown.
"J-Justin!"
"I'm here, Bella."
Picking up on her anxious voice, Justin opened the door to the bedroom and rushed in.
He sat on the bed and pulled her into his arms protectively.
"Did you have a bad dream?" Justin nuzzled her face and spoke in a raspy voice.
"Yeah. I was scared."
Bella rested her forehead against his chin and sniffled, her voice bearing sobs. "dreamed that you didn't recognize me. I cried and shouted, but you wouldn't look back. You simply walked away." "Don't scare yourself, silly."
Justin ran "I shouls fingers down her h uld be the one scared. I belongs to en.swnovelshov never walk away from you" Content "Have you been up all night?"
"Yeah. I've got a big day ahead, so I couldn't sleep."
In reality, he had been thinking about what his friend said and looking up the he come across anything viable.
dion for family online. Howeve Bella wrapped her arms around his neck and sealed his lips, suckling and grazing.
As Justin's breathing grew heavy, he pried open her teeth and responded to her affection.
"Did you get any news from Drew?" Bella panted, her cheeks rosy.
"Yes. Don't worry. We have everything covered."
Justin laid Bella down and climbed on top of her. He drew close for a kiss.
"It's early. Get some sleep and wait for my good news."
The Divorced Heiress Revenge Chapter 2169-With Justin's comfort and company, Bella quickly fell asleep in his arms.
It was bright outside by the time she woke up again. A gentle breeze caressed the sheer curtains as sunlight kissed her skin. The room was filled with last night's tenderness and the sweet scent of Sentania's flora.
It was a beautiful day, yet she could not enjoy the peace and quiet with Justin.
Bella sighed, feeling sad.
She got up and cleaned herself before going out to the balcony to relax her mind.
"What's on your mind, girl?" Camilla made breakfast and brought it over to Bella with a smile.
"Camilla." Bella looked at the delectable food on the table without any appetite. Still, she forced a smile. "Wow… It smells good. I can tell that you made this. You're an amazing cook, just like Aunt Celeste. I've been missing out since you moved to Sentania. You make the best stew."
“Once Justin, Ash, Drew, and Edward get back, I'll cook for you. The staff in the kitchen will have the ingredients ready." Camilla rubbed her palms together eagerly.
As the First Lady, Camilla had always presented herself as mature, graceful, and dependable in front of her people.
She would only show her animated side to her family.
"Edward is lucky to have a talented and devoted wife like you."
Bella grabbed a sandwich and took a tiny bite out of it. "If I were a man, I would not let anyone else have you. I would marry you."
"If you were a man and my brother, the family would be in chaos if you married me."
The sisters enjoyed a good talk and laugh, but the sandwich in Bella's hand remained.
"The wedding venue?"
Bella frowned and clutched Camilla's hands. "Why would Christopher hold a wedding for his subordinate at a time like this?"
For some reason, Bella felt something was off.
Camilla held Bella's hands tight, feeling rather puzzled.
"This kind of high-profile, arrogant, and reckless behavior is typical of Christopher."
Though Bella knew Camilla had a point, she still panicked.
"Don't be scared, Bella. I'm with you." Camilla gave her a little squeeze on the cheek. “Have something to eat. I'll take you to the garden later to look at the flowers, okay?"
"Seriously, Camilla. I'm not a child. Don't treat me like one." Bella pouted. She was so adorable.Camilla hugged Bella and swayed her around. "You'll always be a child to me."
Following Christopher's instructions, Taylor organized a wedding in a renowned church in the capital of Sentania.
The Divorced Heiress Revenge Chapter 2170-The church and its surroundings had been cleared out three days ago. The area was off-limits to the public. Taylor was about to be a groom, but a dark cloud hung over him.
He did not want a wedding at all. He wanted to elope with Yvonne to a faraway place as soon as possible.
The sun shone brightly today, but the air seemed heavy in the church.
The church was packed with Christopher's men. Their faces were as blank as slates, sitting there like lifeless puppets to fill the place for the newlyweds and fulfill their boss' orders.
Yvonne and Taylor were orphans. They had no family or friends.
Their circumstances somehow foretold their future.
The newlyweds were destined for an unblessed union. Yvonne looked beautiful in a floor-length wedding gown and makeup. However, nothing could hide her haggard and ashen face.
Taylor looked sharp next to her. He stared at her with a loving smile.
Even though everything was a heartless and violent lie, it was true that he would be marrying the woman he had loved for many years.
"Do you take this young lady as your lawfully wedded wife to love and cherish, in good times and in bad, in sickness and in health, for richer or for poorer, for better or for worse, for as long as you shall live?" The pastor asked Taylor.
Excited, Taylor held Yvonne's cold hand tightly and said in a trembling voice, "I do.” The declaration bore his genuine feelings for Yvonne.
However, Yvonne's eyes were lifeless. She did not even have the mood to keep up with the act.
The pastor turned to the sad bride.
"Do you take this young man as your lawfully wedded husband to lovez and cherish, in good times and in bad, in sickness and in health, for richer or for poorer, for better or for worse, for as long as you shall live?" Taylor looked at her in anticipation.
Time passed.
However, Yvonne's eyes remained vacant. She stood there, frozen in silence.
Those below the podium exchanged glances.
Furrowing his brows, Taylor clenched her fingers and urged, "Say something, Yvonne."
Yvonne's lips quivered as she responded hesitantly, “I—"
A commotion stirred outside the heavy doors.
The heavy doors came crashing down with a loud bang.
With her heart racing, Yvonne looked back.
Drew stood amid the chaotic scene, his face looking arrogant and untamed. He narrowed his l eyes ndedly. His black parka fluttered in the wind, adding to his commanding presence.
When his eyes met those of his loved one, his aggression turned into affection.
Drew looked at Yvonne's tearful eyes, smiled, and answered "She doesn't!"
