Ch. 2171..2180

The Divorced Heiress Revenge Chapter 2171-The entire hall suddenly fell into a heart-stopping silence.

The bodyguards stood up in unison. Their fierce and ruthless gazes were like arrows, aimed at Drew, who stood there proudly.

"Drew…" Yvonne's face, drained of all color, was numb like a puppet. However, her face came alive the moment she saw Drew's rebellious, spirited smile. Tears welled up in her eyes like a dam breaking, streaming down her cheeks.

Her tears ruined her delicate makeup. Yet, this only made her emotions look more raw and strikingly beautiful.

Beside her, Taylor felt his chest tighten with rage, his eyes filling with anger.

He was not just furious because Drew had burst in and ruined his wedding.

He was also mad because Yvonne was crying uncontrollably for this man, unable to hold back her emotions.

Yvonne had not forgotten Drew…

She loved him all along, and Taylor had never truly had her heart.

"Don't be afraid, Yvonne. I'm here." Drew's body trembled under his black trench coat as his blood rushed to his head. Every cell and nerve screamed with intensity. "From now on, nothing and no one will ever separate us again. Will you marry me and be Mrs. Brown?"

Taylor stood stunned, and everyone else stared in shock!

How could he be thinking about proposing at a time like this, on the brink of life and death?

Was he even human?

Was he really unafraid of dying?

Yvonne could not stop crying.

She bit down on the inside of her lower lip until she tasted blood. She wanted to scream, 'Yes, Drew. Yes! Yes! Yes!' She shouted these words in her heart over and over again, desperately wanting to express her feelings. However, she could not utter a word. "Drew Brown!"

Taylor's bloodshot eyes seemed to want to crush this name, so deeply etched in Yvonne's heart, into dust.

Drew's gaze burned with fiery intensity as he walked step by step toward Yvonne. He ignored any unknown danger, fearing nothing.

He just wanted to get to her faster, hold the woman he loved the most in his arms, take her home, marry her, grow old together, and have a family with her.

At that moment, a vision of the happiness he had longed for flashed in his mind. His eyes grew hot, but he held back his tears.

"Drew! Don't come any closer!"

Suddenly, Yvonne screamed at him, "Don't worry about me! Leave here immediately! Go!"

At the same time, Taylor, his face twisted with rage, pulled a gun from his suit. Without a word, he aimed at Drew's chest and pulled the trigger. Bang!

The gunshot rang out with a deafening bang, echoing through the sacred chapel like a proclamation of death before God.

The bullet hit its mark perfectly, striking Drew right in the heart.

His pupils contracted sharply, and his tall body shuddered violently.

"No!" Yvonne screamed in agony. She tried to run to him, but Taylor grabbed her tightly, holding her back.

In an instant, her entire soul et shattered within her body. Her vision went black. Everything around ber collapsed, her world torn apart, blood and flesh indistinguishable.

At that moment, Taylor stared at Drew with bloodshot eyes, a smug and wild grin spreading across his face.

What could be more satisfying than killing his rival right in front of the woman he loved most?

But to his complete surprise, Drew smiled, too.

Not only did he smile, but he also stood tall and straight in front of Taylor, refusing to fall as expected. "You…!" Taylor exclaimed in shock, his eyes fixed on the hole in Drew's chest where he had just shot him.

It turned out Drew was wearing a bulletproof vest.

l Yvonne's tightly clenched heart suddenly relaxed, and she lost control both crying and laughing. Her soft body nearly collapsed from relief, trembling violently. "I gave you a chance, but you didn't kill me." Drew patted the bullet hole in his chest, his handsome face smiling so brightly it seemed to light up the place. "Well, sorry about that, but I believe God is on my side. You, on the other hand, deserve to go to hell with your boss!" With those words, he drew a gun from his back and aimed the dark barrel straight at Taylor's head.

The Divorced Heiress Revenge Chapter 2172-"Don't move!" Taylor roared, pulling Yvonne into his arms. He pressed his elbow hard against her chest, the barrel of his gun against her temple. "If you want to see the woman you love die right in front of you, then go ahead. Try me!"

Taylor knew very well that Drew was a top-level agent who could take down a hundred men single-handedly and end his life in the blink of an eye. He had no shot at escaping, and Yvonne was his last bargaining chip.

The woman he claimed to love had now become a hostage. How pathetic and laughable!

"Drew… Don't worry about me… Just go!" Yvonne cried, tears streaming down her face, but her tone was resolute.

"If you dare hurt her, I swear I will make sure you die a terrible death!" Drew's eyes were bloodshot, and a cold, murderous aura surged in him. "Yvonne and I have already registered our marriage. She's my wife. She's my woman now!"

Taylor's expression twisted with madness as he tightened his grip on Yvonne, causing her face to flush red. "We could have finished the wedding, escaped, and lived a happy, carefree life together. You ruined it all! You're the one who's destroying Yvonne! It's all because of you!"

"Taylor… Wake up…"

Yvonne gasped for air, beads of sweat forming on her forehead. "Can't you see it yet? This is all a trap set by Christopher. He made you marry me and forced this grand wedding to draw attention to you while he escapes. He plans to use our deaths to secure his own freedom. You think you're his confidant, his right hand… But from the beginning, you've been nothing more than a pawn to be discarded!"

"Enough! Do you think I don't know that?! I don't need you to remind me of any of that!"

Finally, Taylor lost control. He shouted furiously, "What are you all standing around for?! Kill him!"

The Iverson men under Christopher's command were not supposed to obey Taylor.

However, Drew's presence made them realize the gravity of the situation. They all pulled out their weapons, ready to take him down.

Just then, two imposing figures burst through the door.

It was Justin and Ralph.

Dressed in black tactical gear and bulletproof vests, their faces were sharp and cold, their eyes fierce. They held their guns steady. Then, they swiftly took out Christopher's men who had aimed at Drew.

At that moment, the two brothers battled side by side, testing their courage, skills, and marksmanship.

No matter the circumstances, they always pushed themselves to confront the enemy and each other.

It was a pity that Bella and Arnold were not present. They would have made the group even stronger.

Amid the bloodshed and chaos, Taylor dragged Yvonne toward the back exit of the chapel, making his escape. "Yvonne!" Drew shouted as he recklessly chased after them.

The police officers filed in one after another, surrounding and subduing the remnants of Iverson guards.

"Drew went after them alone!” Justin said, his sharp eyebrows furrowing.

"The SWAT team has surrounded the outside of the church. There's no way Taylor can escape!" Ralph's expression was stern as he gripped his gun tightly. "But we don't know if Taylor will act desperately and harm Yvonne. In my experience, we should prepare a sniper now." Justin lifted his chin slightly, his eyes narrowing. "I'm ready at any moment!"

Meanwhile, at the president's house in Sentanta, Camilla changed into gardening boots and put on an apron. Standing amidst a colorful sea of flowers, she picked fresh blooms to put in a vase. Bella stood gracefully at the edge of the flower bed, soaking in the warm sunlight. The warmth soothed her anxious heart a little.

Just then, her phone buzzed in her pocket.

She took it out and looked at the screen, and her heart suddenly sank.

It was an unknown number, a local Sentania number.

A sense of foreboding slithered up her slender legs like a cold snake, creeping up ominously.

Seeing that her sister was not paying attention, Bella turned away, slowly answered the call, and held the phone to her ear.

"Bella." The warm, gentle voice called her name like it always did.

However, the voice made her feel like she had fallen into an icy abyss. It was as if a cold wind wrapped around her and invaded her, causing her to hug her shoulders tightly. "Bella, I know you're listening." Christopher chuckled, his tone calm and unhurried.

Bella clenched her teeth, her beautiful eyes turning icy cold.

"Bella, I miss you so much." Christopher spoke in a hushed, raspy voice. "I think, at this very moment, you must be thinking of me, too."

The Divorced Heiress Revenge Chapter 2173-Bella's eyes swirled with a crimson tide, and her insides felt like they were being tightly squeezed by a giant hand, turning into a blurry mess of blood and flesh.

After a moment, she said, "You're right, Christopher. I've been constantly thinking about your death."

"Haha… Bella, you're really cute." Christopher's voice brimmed with deep affection. If not for the phone between them, he would have wanted to kiss her. "Even though you hate me, I still love you. I can't stop myself from doing so."

“Does a cold-blooded snake like you even understand what love is?" Bella's eyes glinted like a blade, her chest churning with disgust. "Don't you dare taint such pure emotion! You're not worthy to even mention that word."

"Bella, I love you. Besides, I don't think I've done anything wrong." Christopher's voice grew lower, filled with suppressed pain. "My love for you is the purest and most sincere in this world. From the beginning till the end, I have only loved you. I have only wanted you."

Bella shut her eyes tightly and took a deep breath. She nearly vomited from the force of her emotions.

"Justin has never loved you. He loves another woman. You sacrificed three years of your youth to marry him, gave him everything, and cared for him meticulously. Yet his heart was always with another woman. He gave her all his tenderness. He even cast you, his so-called wife, aside.

"When you returned to the Thompson family with a heart full of wounds, he saw you repeatedly demonstrate your abilities and reclaim your status as the heiress of KS Group. That was when he developed feelings for you. But if you had remained the silent, demure woman by his side, would Justin have noticed you? Would he have loved you? He wouldn't have. Isn't this just the same as being fickle and changeable?"

Bella's long lashes fluttered as she tried to steady herself. Yet she still felt these malicious words slicing through her heart like a blunt knife, slowly and deeply.

"From the day I met you when I was ten until now, I have never loved another woman. I have only ever loved you, Bella." Christopher's voice flowed like hot sand, lingering in her ears with a deep, obsessive madness. "For you, I can go mad. I can destroy the entire world for you. My life has always been dark and cold. You're the only one who can enter my heart. You're the only lively and vibrant being that I have always longed for. Justin's love is shallow and fickle. He was even slow to realize it. How could his cheap affection ever compare to mine? What right does he have to love you?” "Christopher, are you still trying to use such despicable methods to drive a wedge between us now? Just give up already." Bella laughed, her strong love dispelling all darkness. "Yes, Justin did like someone else before. He did hurt me, but even so, I still want to love him and be with him. As for you, no matter how many tricks you play or how much you manipulate people's hearts, I still only see you as a rat in the gutter."

As she finished her sentence, she completely ignored his passionate feelings and mocked him mercilessly. "Christopher, don't you think you're pathetic?"

Christopher fell into a suffocating silence.

Then he spoke softly. "Bella, if that's the case, let me see you one last time, okay?"

Bella clenched her teeth. "In your dreams!"

"Bella, who are you on the phone with?" Holding a basket full of fresh flowers, Camilla stood in the flower bed and looked at Bella's back. “Is something wrong?"

"No, it's nothing, Camilla!" Bella responded with a bright smile.

The next second, her phone vibrated— She received a text message.

"Bella, don't rush to answer me. Look at what I sent you first, then decide." The man spoke seductively.

Bella bit her lower lip and opened the message. A clear photo jumped out at her.

The picture was taken from a low angle, and the person in the photo was her brother-in-law, Edward, giving a speech on stage in front of a captivated audience.

"Christopher… What exactly do you want?!"

Bella's face turned deathly pale, her almond-shaped eyes burning red. "I warn you, don't you dare touch my family, or I will kill you with my own hands!"

A bone-piercing chill ran up Bella's stiff spine.

Overwhelmed by immense terror, Bella felt her mind buzz, and her chest ached so much she could hardly breathe.

Her brother-in-law had diverted part of the police force to assist Justin and her brother. He also sent another group to protect her and her sister. The event had far fewer police officers present.

If Christopher decided to target her brother-in-law now, it would be all too easy to take his life.

"The President and your sister share a deep bond. If he dies today, do you think your sister can handle such a blow? Would she have any reason left to live?" Christopher's tone was calm. Yet his calm tone made him sound even more sinister and terrifying. Bella slowly turned around, looking at Camilla, who was completely oblivious to the precarious situation. She spoke in a hoarse voice. "Don't do anything to my brother-in-law. I'll go see you."

“Alright, Bella.” Christopher smiled in satisfaction. "I'll be waiting for you at the Rose Nursing Home in the eastern suburbs of the Western District."

Suddenly, his voice dropped to a menacing tone. "Don't tell anyone about this, especially Justin. I don't want anyone ruining our meeting You know me, Bella. When I angry, I might do soine unpredictable. I'm not sure what I'm fully capable of either." With that, the phone screen went dark, and the call ended.

The Divorced Heiress Revenge Chapter 2174-Taylor held Yvonne hostage and dragged her toward the back of the church.

However, there was nowhere left for him to run.

The police had surrounded the church from all sides, leaving Taylor completely trapped with no escape route.

"Stop fighting against them…"

As he tightly held Yvonne in his arms, Yvonne's face turned pale. Her lips had turned a bluish-purple from being choked for so long. "You have no way out… You and Christopher are finished!"

"Shut up!" Taylor shouted, his eyes bloodshot and his body trembling uncontrollably.

But Yvonne laughed. Her expression showed relief, joy, and contentment.

With nowhere to escape, Taylor had no choice but to take her up a rundown ten-story tower behind the church.

The police had blocked all exits and surrounded the tower. They left him with only one option: to call for backup. A helicopter might be his only way out.

However, when Taylor called every confidant and subordinate he could reach, it seemed like they had all conspired against him. They refused to answer his calls.

"Damn it! A bunch of ungrateful bastards!" Taylor fumed.

"Haha… Do you still think you're the all-powerful secretary to the chairman of the Iverson Group? Do you still think those crooks in Sentania will still bow to you?"

Yvonne's eyes shone brightly as she laughed openly, her disdain and contempt for him obvious. "When relationships are based on benefits, they end when the benefit does. When based on power, they crumble when the power fades. You and Christopher are nothing but defeated dogs now. There's only one path left for you-death!"

"Do you think I did all this for myself?! I did it for us!" Taylor tightened his grip on the numb woman in his arms. He was on the verge of a breakdown. Do you have any idea how much I've sacrificed to be with you? Do you know that for over a decade, I've dreamed of being with you and marrying you? Yvonne… Why can't you understand how I feel? Why are you praying for my downfall? Haven't I been good to you? Haven't I?"

"All these years, Christopher humiliated, abused, and exploited me… He sent me to different men to gain benefits and satisfy his desires." Yvonne closed her eyes in pain with hatred. The wicked laughter of those men echoed in her ears, and the unbearable scenes played out before her eyes. "You just watched for years. Did you ever help me, even once?"

Taylor's body shook violently, his hand trembling uncontrollably while holding the gun.

"You were terrified of Christopher. You were afraid of him. No, it wasn't just fear. You admired him, respected him, and willingly submitted to him. As for me, you were just waiting for the right moment, when I had lost all value, to ask Christopher for me as your reward. After all, you'd been his loyal dog for so many years. Christopher would have no reason to refuse you. Taylor, you can lie to yourself all you want. But if you're trying to lie to me like you did to yourself, just save it." Yvonne coldly exposed his so-called act of deep affection.

"Yvonne…" Taylor was desperate, angry, and heartbroken. However, he was at a loss for words to argue.

Because her every word hit its mark and struck straight to the heart.

This time, even he could not lie to himself.

"Yvonne!"

Drew was the first to rush up to the tower's roof, his hand gripping his gun so tightly that his veins bulged. He aimed directly at Taylor's head. "Let her go! I won't say it again!" Yvonne's wedding dress, now soaked in cold sweat, clung to her trembling body. Tears welled up in her eyes as she gazed at her lover who was steadily approaching her. She felt like a bloody nail was lodged in her throat, rendering her able to speak. All she could do was shake her head repeatedly at him. But she knew that the word "retreat” did not exist in Drew's dictionary.

"Damn it… If you've got the guts, then shoot!" Taylor laughed wildly, taunting the man before him. "If you shoot, she won't live either!"

Large beads of sweat gathered on Drew's forehead, soon rolling down his sharp, handsome face.

His heart pounded as if it might burst out of his chest.

He did not dare think about what might happen the next second. Otherwise, his hand might shake, and his aim might falter.

Yvonne was not just anyone. She was his first love. She was one of a kind in the world.

He could not afford to gamble on her life. He could not afford to lose her.

"What do you want?" Drew's pale lips trembled slightly, his inner conflict visible in his eyes.

"Within half an hour, I want $200 million and a helicopter! Let Yvonne and me leave this place!" Drew gritted his teeth, fury boiling inside him.

Not far behind him, Asher and Ralph lay in ambush, ready to act at any moment.

Ralph cursed under his breath. “$200 million? In half an hour?! Even if we emptied every bank in this city, we wouldn't have enough!" "We can." The shadows obscured Asher's handsome face. He then spoke coolly, "I have enough in my account. We can use my money."

Ralph was dumbfounded. “Oh my god! Can we be friends, Mr. Millionaire?!"

"In this life, we're brothers. We can be friends in our next life." Although it was not the time for jokes, Asher still played along with his sel sudden shift in tone, easing tension just a little. "But I don't think we'll need that money will never let this guy leave this place alive."

The Divorced Heiress Revenge Chapter 2175-"But Taylor has Ms. Smith as a hostage and a gun in his hand! If he becomes desperate and does something reckless, even if Drew shoots him dead on the spot, Ms. Smith could still be in danger!"

Ralph watched the standoff with nervous eyes, his heart in his throat. "This is the first time I've seen Drew so panicked and flustered. He's always been fearless, confident, and rebellious. This shows just how much he truly loves Ms. Smith…"

"You're right." Asher, who also had someone he loved, completely understood. "Intense love and stable emotions can never coexist. The more you love, the more afraid you are of losing, and the more flustered you become."

"So, what do we do now?" Ralph asked, his expression anxious.

Asher looked toward the church rooftop across from them, squinting slightly.

"I believe God will favor justice. I also believe that he will complete this mission successfully."

After finishing with the flowers, the Thompson sisters walked hand in hand back to the living room to arrange them in vases.

"What's wrong, Bella? Is something bothering you?" Camilla asked, worried about her sister's pale complexion.

"Maybe it's because I was standing in the sun for too long and got a bit overheated." Bella's beautiful eyes curved as she waved a delicate hand to fan herself. “The heat here in Sentania is something else! I've already worked up a sweat just being outside for a little while."

"I'll have the kitchen make you a cold dessert."

Camilla gently wiped the fine sweat from her sister's forehead with a smile. "That's just how it is here. It's always summer, unlike our home. It took me quite a while to get used to it, too."

Little did she know, the sweat on Bella's forehead was not from the heat. It was from cold fear.

"Camilla, I'd love it if you could make the dessert yourself." Bella clung to Camilla's arm, swaying it playfully. "Once I go back, it'll be hard to taste your cooking again. Please make it for me!"

"It's just dessert. You don't have to plead with me like that." Camilla doted on her sister and pinched her cute, upturned nose. "Alright, I'll make it for you. You wait here like a good girl. When I get back, we'll arrange the flowers together and put them in your brother-in-law's study. He loves fresh flowers. It'll put him in a good mood when he sees them."

"Yes, yes! Alright! I'll wait for you!"

Unsuspecting of anything, Camilla left with a smile on her face.

As soon as she turned around, Bella's smile froze at the corners of her lips, and her fingers clenched tightly in secret.

Half an hour later, Camilla returned to the living room with a bowl of shaved ice dessert.

She even made some mango compote as a topping, hoping to delight her sister's taste buds.

However, the living room was empty. No one was around except for a basket of fresh flowers sitting alone on the coffee table.

“Bella? Bella?" Camilla searched everywhere, inside and out. She even asked the servants. However, everyone said they had not seen her.

Her heart started racing. She quickly called for the head of security.Published by Nôv'elD/rama.Org.

"Where's my sister?!"

"Ma'am, didn't you know?" The security chief looked surprised. "About half an hour ago, Ms. Bella drove out in her car."

"What?!" Camilla was always kind and gentle, but now she could not contain her anger. "What did I tell you? You were to ensure my sister's safety! Is this how you carry out your duties?"

"Ma'am, please calm down!"

Realizing something was seriously wrong, the security chief broke into a cold sweat. "The President e instructed us to protect you and Ms. Bella here. But he didn't say we had to confine her or prevent her from leaving. Ms. Bella said she had your permission when she left…" "You fools!" Camilla was so furious that her forehead began to throb, and her eyes reddened. "Check the license plates and surveillance cameras! Track my sister's location right now! If you can't find her, you'll have to face the consequences!” "Yes, Ma'am!" The security chief then asked, "S-Should we inform Mr. President…?"

Camilla paced back and forth, her mind in turmoil.

Her husband was attending an important event, and her brother and Justin were facing even more severe situations. She could not disturb them.

"Don't alert anyone else for now. Find out where my sister went immediately! Activate the Zoom Camera system!"

"We'll need the President's signature to activate the system…"

et "I'm the First Lady. I have the authority to exercise special privileges Camilla's eyes were sharp and commanding, leaving no room for argument. "I'll take full responsibility for any consequences. Just do as I say!"

The Divorced Heiress Revenge Chapter 2176-Bella stared intently at the seemingly endless road ahead as she drove a black sedan, following the GPS directions to the Rose Nursing Home. As per Christopher's instructions, she had turned off her phone.

She knew that her sister would soon realize she had left the house and would likely do everything in her power to search the entire city and locate her phone.

The lush, verdant scenery outside the window blurred into a swift-moving backdrop.

Bella's gaze was solemn. Her delicate hands gripped the steering wheel tightly, brows furrowed with deep, unshakable concern.

After driving for a full hour, the black sedan made a sharp, decisive drift and stopped in the courtyard of the flower-filled nursing home.

Bella stepped out of the car, her long legs moving gracefully as she cautiously surveyed her surroundings.

To her surprise, this was a fully operational nursing home. There were vehicles belonging to other visitors in the parking lot, and people coming and going appeared normal, showing no signs of anything unusual.

However, Bella did not let her guard down. With a heart full of apprehension, she walked step by step toward the entrance.

Inside the spacious and bright lobby, colorful paintings adorned the walls, vibrant greenery was everywhere, and caregivers were attentively tending to the elderly.

Everything seemed warm, peaceful, and serene.

"Hello, Miss. Are you Ms. Thompson?" A nurse approached her and asked politely.

Bella's brows knitted together. "How do you know who I am?"

"Mr. Iverson, the major shareholder of our nursing home, showed me your photo earlier. He instructed me to wait for your arrival. Now that you're here, Mr. Iverson asked me to take you to meet someone." The nurse replied frankly.

"Who am I meeting?"

"Mr. Iverson's mother."

Bella's eyes widened in surprise.

"Mr. Iverson mentioned that it has been a long time since you and Mrs. Iverson have seen each other. Mrs. Iverson misses you very much and has many things she wants to talk to you about. Please follow me."

The nurse led Bella to the back garden.

On the mirror-like surface of the lake, two white swans played, their necks entwined, creating a beautiful and serene scene.

By the lakeside, a graceful yet frail figure sitting in a wheelchair came into view.

It was Mrs. Iverson.

Bella took a deep breath and walked slowly toward the woman, her heart inexplicably heavy.

Although she harbored a deep hatred for Christopher, she did not hold any resentment toward Mrs. Iverson. Even though Mrs. Iverson had given birth to a son who had become a ruthless and heartless monster, it was not her fault.

This woman, burdened with her husband's misunderstanding and contempt and plagued by illness, had suffered enough. She was truly pitiable.

"Mrs. Iverson," Bella softly called as she approached her. Her eyes lit up with surprise.

Today, Mrs. Iverson wore an elegant, luxurious dress, with delicate makeup enhancing her features.

Though not dyed black, her gray hair was neatly styled into a bun adorned with a jade green hairpin.

Despite being excessively thin, she still faintly resembled the once dignified and graceful matriarch of the Iverson family, exuding an air of nobility and elegance.

The Divorced Heiress Revenge Chapter 2177-Upon hearing the sweet and gentle voice, Mrs. Iverson's vacant eyes moved slightly. But the moment she saw Bella, it was as if she remembered everything. Her eyes brightened and came alive.

"Bella… Bella! You've finally come to see me! Chris said you would come, and he didn't lie to me!"

Bella fluttered her long eyelashes and clenched her fingers. "Mrs. Iverson, have you been doing well lately? How's your health?"

"I'm good… So good… Seeing you, all my ailments are gone." As she spoke, her body trembled slightly as if she were feeling cold.

Bella quickly shrugged off her blazer and draped it over Mrs. Iverson's thin shoulders.

"Come, Bella. I have something for you."

With a fervent gaze, Mrs. Iverson grasped Bella's delicate wrist and, without another word, slipped a jade bracelet over her fingers.

"Mrs. Iverson, this is too much!"

The cold sensation on her slender wrist made Bella uncomfortable all over, and she immediately tried to remove the bracelet. However, Mrs. Iverson held her hand tightly.

"Bella, my Chris loves you very much. I like you a lot, too. I don't have anything fancy to give you. But if you don't mind, please accept this. If you do mind, then I have nothing else to say."

Bella looked troubled. "Mrs. Iverson, I…"

"Today, I specifically asked Chris to find someone to help me dress up nicely because I wanted to make sure I didn't look too haggard and disheveled when I meet my future daughter-in-law." Mrs. Iverson's lips trembled. Her eyes were filled with the joy and excitement of meeting her new daughter-in-law.

It had been many years since she had smiled like this from the heart.

It might also be the last time she would smile like this in this life.

"What did you just say, Mrs. Iverson?"

Bella was startled. A chill crept up her spine and flooded her nerves. Her hand felt even colder than the jade. "Future daughter-in-law? What do you mean by that?"

"Chris said he's already registered your marriage and that you'll be having the wedding here in Sentania soon."

Tears filled Mrs. Iverson's eyes as she looked on with deep excitement and wistful longing. "Bella… Do you know how happy I am? I thought I would never see my son get married in my lifetime. I never imagined my wish would come true. On top of that, you'll be Chris' bride!"

As she spoke, she began to cry uncontrollably, tears streaming down her face. "Bella… I've had a hard life. I lived everyday like a walking corpse. Every day when I open my eyes… All I think about is how to leave this world. But… I can't bear to leave Chris. He is so kind, gentle, and filial… He is my only son. He's my only hope! His father disowned him, and his siblings bullied him. If I were to leave, Chris would have no family left in this world…"

Mrs. Iverson clutched Bella's cold hand tightly, her tear-filled eyes looking mournfully at her. "But now, my worries have finally been eased because he has you! Even if I leave this world someday, Chris won't be alone or helpless with you by his side."

Bella was utterly stunned. Her mind suddenly went blank.

"Bella… Please promise me to stay with Chris. Okay?" Mrs. Iverson pleaded with a tone that could not be more humble. She was practically begging Bella.

"I'm sorry, Mrs. Iverson,"

Bella steadied her tumultuous emotions and slowly, yet firmly, withdrew her hand from Mrs. Iverson's frail grasp. "I do not love your son. I could never be with him. Besides, I already have a husband. We are deeply in love with each other. Nothing will separate us until death do us part."

The Divorced Heiress Revenge Chapter 2178-The swan's white wings fluttered, creating ripples across the mirror-like lake surface.

Mrs. Iverson's emaciated face froze. Her eyes were red and swollen, staring intensely at Bella's firm expression.

"You... You're already married? You have a husband? When did this happen? How is this possible?!"

"Mrs. Iverson, I have no reason to lie to you. It's true."

Bella's voice was gentle, but her stance was unyielding. "My husband and I have known each other for over a decade. I've loved him since I was a child. I've always dreamed of becoming his wife. We've gone through many hardships together, and now we're finally together. I've achieved my heart's desire. So, I will never love another man for the rest of my life. I'm sorry to disappoint you."

"This can't be... It's impossible!" Mrs. Iverson's emotions were on the verge of breakdown as she gripped Bella's fair and delicate hand tightly. "You grew up with my Chris. You've always been so good to him, and he's completely devoted to you. He's vowed to marry no one but you! Chris has told me so much about what happened between you two. He never once mentioned... that you were already married!"

The more Bella listened, the colder she felt inside. Her heart pounded like a drum.

Christopher had been weaving an elaborate fantasy for his mother all this time.

If he were merely trying to appease her, a small white lie would suffice. Especially given her Alzheimer's frequently caused confusion, to the point where she sometimes failed to recognize her own son. Why go to such lengths to fabricate such a grand illusion?

Christopher was cruel and cunning. There was always a calculated purpose behind his actions.

So, what was his real intent?

"Bella... My son has his eyes and heart only for you. He's been so good to you... How could you do this to him?!" Mrs. Iverson's eyes were bloodshot, her body shaking violently. "What does Chris mean to you?! No, you can't be with someone else... You're my daughter-in-law. You belong with Chris! You can't be with another man!"

People who were terminally ill could sometimes be stubborn, emotionally unstable, and unreasonable, losing control at any moment.

Despite this, Bella would not betray her own principles by indulging in Christopher's lies just to soothe her emotions.

She could not do it even for the sake of a well-intentioned lie.

Her mouth, body, and heart could never betray Justin.

"I'm sorry, Mrs. Iverson. No matter what you say, I will never choose to be with Christopher. Not only because I have never had feelings for him, but also because we are like night and day. We belong to two different worlds."

Bella's eyes burned with intensity, revealing a coldness that seemed almost unfeeling. "Your son has harmed my loved ones and my partner."

Mrs. Iverson's entire being seemed to shatter, making her look like she had turned to stone.

"He has done many things I cannot tolerate or forgive. What I find even harder to accept is that every time he hurt those around me, it was under the guise of loving me."

Images of those Christopher had harmed flashed through Bella's mind. Her chest heaved with pain as she clenched her fists tightly. "How could I ever be with such a man? I was born in the light, and I refuse to fall into darkness. Mrs. Iverson, if you truly care for me and want what is best for your son, please persuade him to turn himself in. He should not continue to plunge deeper into the abyss of crime. The only thing awaiting him at the end of this path is destruction."

"No... Chris is filial and kind... He's not what you say... He's not!" Mrs. Iverson screamed with reddened eyes, her voice sharp and piercing.

Her face contorted with collapse, despair, rage, and sadness, making even Bella, who had witnessed many trials, feel a shiver of fear.

Suddenly, the woman in the wheelchair began to convulse violently as if she were choking, her parched mouth opening wide in distress.

"Mrs. Iverson!"

Bella's face went pale with shock as she rushed forward, trying to stabilize Mrs. Iverson's trembling body. "Mrs. Iverson... What's going on? Are you unwell?!"

The Divorced Heiress Revenge Chapter 2179-"Mmm... Mmm!" Mrs. Iverson's eyes rolled back, her fingers stretched wide, and she started frothing at the mouth.

Bella froze, her breath hitching in her throat. It looked like a seizure, or maybe a stroke.

At this moment, overwhelming guilt surged through her.

Her harsh words clearly shocked Mrs. Iverson so much that she collapsed.

If Mrs. Iverson suffered any harm because of her, Bella would feel overwhelmed with guilt and regret, unable to find any peace.

Bella quickly called for the staff.

However, the doctors at the nursing home's clinic were not professional enough to handle this kind of emergency. They would have to call an ambulance.

"Oh my god... What are we going to do?!" Watching Mrs. Iverson in pain, the caretaker was on the verge of tears. "Even if we call an ambulance, the nursing home is so far from the hospital. How can we possibly get there in time?"

"We can call for a helicopter rescue!"

Bella's forehead broke out in a fine sweat as she made the quick decision. "That way, we can drastically cut down on travel time!"

The caretaker immediately ordered a helicopter rescue. Bella and the caretaker worked together to lift Mrs. Iverson's stiff body from the wheelchair and lay her down on the grass.

She opened Mrs. Iverson's eyelids and did a quick assessment.

Her heart pounded harder, and doubt gnawed at her.

Mrs. Iverson definitely seemed to be suffering from a sudden illness. However, her tongue was turning a purplish blue, and faint rashes were appearing on her arms.

Bella was full of suspicion. But without any medical equipment, there was not much she could do. All she could do was try to ease Mrs. Iverson's suffering as best she could.

Fifteen minutes later, a helicopter descended rapidly into the nursing home's back garden. Its blades whipped up fierce winds that sent the swans on the lake scattering in alarm.

"Mrs. Iverson! Please hang in there! Hang in there!"

Anxiety consumed Bella's entire being. Her heart burned with worry as she helped the medical staff lift Mrs. Iverson onto a stretcher and into the helicopter.

"Ah..." Mrs. Iverson clung to Bella's hand like it was her lifeline.

Tears streamed down her face. She wanted to say something, but no words came out.

"Don't worry. I'm here with you! I'm right here!"

Bella felt extremely guilty. Seeing Mrs. Iverson in such pain was torture for her, too.

She followed the medical team and climbed into the helicopter.

Just as the helicopter lifted off the ground, she suddenly heard a soft, eerie voice whisper her name right next to her ear.

"Bella."

Every organ in Bella's body seemed to tighten all at once.

She whipped her head around, locking eyes with a pair of crescent-shaped, bottomless eyes, as dark as an abyss,

The next second, she felt a sharp, cold pain in her neck.

Her vision blurred, and she lost consciousness, falling limp into the man's arms.

The Divorced Heiress Revenge Chapter 2180-The rooftop was cold.

Trembling with fear and overwhelmed by the immense pressure and terror, Taylor shook like a leaf as he held the gun.

He had not released the safety, worried that he might misfire the gun by accident.

Even now, with no other way to escape, he had never intended to take Yvonne's life. Even if there was only a slim chance, he still wanted to take Yvonne with him.

Taylor knew that everyone looked out for themselves in times of great danger.

Christopher had long ceased to care about him and would probably betray him when the time came. Taylor was prepared for this. He was confident that his intelligence and cunning traits would be enough to help him escape and disappear.

He had ended up here solely for Yvonne.

Taylor wanted to give the woman he loved a wedding and a beautiful beginning. He believed that even a rat from the gutter could also long for a moment in the sunlight.

He wanted Yvonne to live. He needed her to live. Otherwise, everything he had sacrificed until now would be meaningless.

Suddenly, Yvonne burst into laughter, her eyes bloodshot and wild.

Taylor's voice shook. "Yvonne, what are you laughing at?"

"I'm laughing at you. You think you're so clever, coming up with plans for Christopher. But you're just a fool driven by lust. You're too stupid to realize I was using you all along. I hate you, Taylor. I hate you so much. You think you saved me? Do you think I agreed to marry you because I have feelings for you or because I'm grateful? No... I only wanted to drag you and Christopher down to hell. Every moment with you felt like a thousand ants gnawing at my heart. It was utterly painful and disgusting!"

Taylor felt his blood freeze before rushing to his head and pounding in his skull.

"N-No. That can't be... How could this be?"

He knew Yvonne did not love him. He knew she was not even close to liking him. But if she was willing to marry and leave with him, she should not have hated him this much...

"Remember that video of Owen murdering someone? Oscar spent over two months following him, hiding in the shadows to capture it. Oscar was not only my comrade, he was also my only hope for survival in Pivotage. He was my only friend."

As Yvonne thought about Oscar's tragic death in the basement and his silent, unspoken last words, her eyes welled up with tears again. Her chest was burning with anger. "Oscar sacrificed his life for that evidence. In his final moments, he sent it to me through Morse code. He told me that he hid the evidence under the chassis of my red sports car in the garage. So that day, I tricked you into coming with me... It wasn't for some bullshit birthday gift for Christopher. It was to get the evidence of Owen's crimes!"

Drew stood just a few steps away, his gaze intensely fixed on Yvonne.

His heart pounded fiercely. It took everything in him to hold back his tears.

At that moment, he suddenly realized that his so-called love was an illusion. It was nothing more than a fleeting fantasy.

It was so shallow, so pale, so laughable...

The girl he loved had been enduring hell on earth every day. She sacrificed herself over and over, bore humiliation, and fought against these demons with all her wits.

Yet he, despite seemingly being able to do anything, could not save his beloved from her torment. He could not even pull her out of the abyss.

He was useless. Utterly useless!

"I've never thought of being with you." Yvonne's eyes gleamed with crimson hatred. Her words cut into Taylor's heart like a knife. "I came to Sentania with you and married you, only to gain your trust, so that you'll completely drop your guard around me. You hid all the evidence of Christopher's heinous crimes in that cross around your neck. It's all concealed right next to your heart. That night, when I seduced you and invited you to share a bed with me, it was only to steal the evidence you were hiding."

"Yvonne... You... You're so heartless!" Taylor's temples throbbed with rage, veins bulging like venomous snakes. The lighthouse of hope and faith he had desperately built in his heart crumbled immediately, collapsing with a thunderous crash.

"Yvonne ... Yvonne..." Drew completely lost control. His tears poured down like rain, blurring his vision. Only those who knew him well understood that his tears were like rare pearls from the ocean.

In thirty years of his life, only this woman before him, battered and bruised, scorned by the world, had ever gotten both his tears and his heart.

"Taylor, you are no different from Christopher to me. You're just as evil. Your hands are just as bloody to me. Yet, you still delude yourself into thinking I might have any feelings for you. Isn't that funny?"

Yvonne laughed loudly, her clear laughter echoing to the sky.

She was so determined, burning all bridges behind her, because she had long since lost the will to live.

Even though she knew Drew was waiting for her, she no longer wanted to live.

He deserved someone better. She could not bear to see herself wasting more of his time.

She was merely a flower of evil, cultivated in the soil of darkness. Now that she was separated from her greenhouse of sin, her only wish was to drag Taylor down to hell with her before she withered away! "Yvonne... I treated you so well... How dare you betray me? You deceived me from the very beginning!"
