“You’re not too bad after all!” Leon sighed a breath of relief, only to tense again when Ruth picked up the flask containing the Pure Energy Pills.

“The Pure Energy Pills? Those work like wonders!” Her eyes lit up when she saw the pills.

She knew how rare they were because it cost her grandfather a small fortune to obtain one.

Surprised by the discovery that Leon was in possession of multiple Pure Energy Pills, she felt as though she won the lottery.

Leon’s heart sank at the grin on her face.

He saved ten Pure Energy Pills to himself and since he gave three to Vincent, he thought that he only had seven left. It was not until later on that he remembered he traded the Sharp siblings with two Pure Energy Pills in exchange for the Fairy Fruit.

He no longer had enough supply of the pills and the ones he had were reserved for him, Iris and Louisa, not for Ruth.

“I’m warning you, Ruth. The making of the Pure Energy Pills is extremely difficult and I only have five pills left. If you dare to touch them, I’ll make you pay when I recover!” He warned to prevent her from taking the pills.

“So stingy! Don’t worry, I’ll just take two and leave you with three. That should be fair, right?” She said reluctantly.

“Fair?! You are stealing what’s mine and you call that fair?!” He roared furiously.

“Um, I’ll just take one then. That should be fine, right?” She muttered guiltily, finally realizing that she was out of line for robbing Leon when he was helpless.

“No! Not even one!” He said darkly.

“And I’m supposed to just listen to you?! No way! I’m going to take one right now. It’s not like you can take the pill back from my stomach once you recover!” She scoffed wilfully, before swallowing one of the Pure Energy Pills.

“Why you!” Furious, Leon watched as she swallowed the pill helplessly.

“Such a pure force of energy! As expected of the Pure Energy Pill!”

Ruth was pleasantly surprised when she sensed the energy that surged through her veins, noticing that it was almost a hundred times more powerful and purer than the energy within the premium Energy Nurturing Pills.

The Energy Nurturing Pills were used to strengthen martial artists‘ power, while the Pure Energy Pill served to help martial artists get past the bottleneck of their training.

Martial artists at the Peak Innate State could be guaranteed to enter the Realm of a Supreme Master once they took the Pure Energy Pill. Even martial artists at the Realm of a Supreme Master would have a much higher chance in reaching the next power level after taking it.

Though the chance of that happening for people in the Realm of a Supreme Master, Ruth was unlike any other. She was the most talented martial artist Springfield City ever saw in the past hundred years and since she trained with the Mysterious Maiden Method, she was brought to the edge of a breakthrough by the Pure Energy Pill.

The true energy in her energy core began to react and surged. Feeling that she was close to a breakthrough, she said, “Leon, I’m going to focus on my energy now! Don’t disturb me!”

Ruth was overjoyed as she did not expect to reach the next power level simply after taking one Pure Energy Pill. Not daring to delay, she sat on the ground and began to practice the Mysterious Maiden Method in hope to reach the next level.

“Who exactly is the one disturbing the other?!” Leon gritted out angrily.

If Ruth did not barge into his room, he would have been asleep a long time ago and would not be left tossing with rage in his bed.

She ignored him and focused on her internal circulation, as she pushed the boundaries of her power with the help of the Pure Energy Pill.

“What’s wrong with her? Is she really reaching a breakthrough?” Shocked, Leon stopped arguing with her and observed her carefully. Soon, he noticed that her true energy was raging, which was a sign of a breakthrough.

“That’s not right. She just reached the Intermediate Supreme State yesterday, so how can she reach the next level within a day? I must be overthinking.” He shook his head.

Under normal circumstances, it would take two to three years of hard work to reach the Advanced Supreme State from the Intermediate Supreme State and even for geniuses like Ruth, she could not possibly go up two levels within two days unless there was a miracle.

As he was absorbed in his thoughts, the scene before him shook him to his core.

Ruth jolted and her true energy began to stabilize as she successfully reached the Advanced Supreme State.

“You did it? H- How is this possible?!” Leon’s jaw dropped.

He never imagined that a miracle would happen.

Within two days‘ time, Ruth rose from the Initial Supreme State to the Advanced Supreme State.

It was unheard of and he would have never believed it if he did not see it with his own eyes.

“I did it! I reached the next level! Leon, you’re heaven–sent!”

She jumped from the ground and beamed in excitement.

She only moved to the Dragonbay Villas a little over a week ago, and already managed to go up two levels and even Ruth herself was stunned by this.

She knew that she only managed to achieve such success because of Leon’s Mysterious Maiden Method and his Pure Energy Pill. Without him, she would have never leveled up with such ease.

Unfortunately, neither the Mysterious Maiden Method, nor the Pure Energy Pill were offered by Leon willingly. She eavesdropped to learn one, and robbed him of the other.

“Ruth, are you even human?” Leon gaped at her as though he saw a ghost.

Breaking through levels was always extremely challenging for martial artists, yet Ruth was managing it like it was as easy as breathing to her.

He finally realized why Ruth was said to be a genius and that he underestimated her talents.

His view on Ruth completely changed at that very moment.

“You’re at a much higher level than I am and you have the nerves to question if I’m human? You’re the monster who defeated a Semi–Overlord like Jackson Lowe! You’re the one who’s not human!” She poked her tongue out at him.

“1-” Leon was instantly rendered speechless.

He only managed to defeat Jackson because of the Dragon Pill. In truth, he was only at the Intermediate Supreme State and Ruth, who just reached the Advanced Supreme State, already became stronger than he was.

Leon soon realized that even when he recovered from his injuries, he would not be able to win against Ruth and he had no means to avenge what she did to him today.

“It’s all over,” His heart sank as he slumped into the depth of self–doubt and devastation.

He wanted to teach Ruth a lesson for robbing him, yet his hope shattered completely.

“You’re in possession of so many great things! What a shame!” She looked at the Pure Energy Pills regretfully,

She knew that martial artists could only consume one Pure Energy Pill within a short period of time, or she would have swallowed all the Pure Energy Pills at once.

“Oh, wait! I was here to look for the other half of the Mysterious Maiden Method. How can I forget about that?” Reminded of her original intention, she set the pills aside and grabbed Leon’s jacket again to search for the written record of the Mysterious Maiden Method, only to be disappointed when she realized the jacket was empty.

“Are you quite done yet, Ruth Collins? I told you that I don’t have any written record of methods in my jacket. Can you give up already?” Leon roared in a fit of frustration.

“It shouldn’t be. Are you hiding it on you, Leon?” She muttered, before tossing his jacket aside and walking over to the bed.

Before Leon could react, she grabbed his blanket and pulled it off.

“Why on earth would you pull my blanket away, Ruth Collins?!” Shocked, he immediately tried to grab the blanket, but was too weak to do so.

“Y–You aren’t wearing any shirt?! You’re an exhibitionist!” She blushed and froze helplessly.

“You’re the one who pulled my blanket away and you’re calling me an exhibitionist?!” Leon was about to be driven mad by rage.

Since his shoulder was injured, he rested without putting on a shirt since Iris and Louisa helped to treat him, so that he would heal faster. All things aside, he was a man and not wearing a shirt was not that big of an issue.

“I-” She was rendered speechless for a moment and wanted to put the blanket back, but since Leon might be hiding the written record of the Mysterious Maiden Method on his person or in his bed, she could not simply give up.

“Whatever! I don’t have time to argue with an exhibitionist!” She threw the blanket away and moved Leon’s body to begin searching underneath his body and around the bed. Still, she did not manage to find anything.

“That’s enough, Ruth!” He roared, coming close to the edge of losing his temper.

However, before he had the chance to do so, he was stunned by what Ruth said next.

“Leon, remove your pants!” She said hesitantly.

“What?!” Leon felt as though he was struck by lightning. “Have you gone mad? You’re a woman and you are asking a man to remove his pants? Don’t you have any shame?” He studied her in disbelief.

“I don’t care. You’ve to be hiding it inside your pants. Remove them so I can check them,” Feeling like her cheeks were burning, she avoided his eyes.

She knew that it was a horrible thing to ask, but since she went through Leon’s room and bed and did not manage to find the written record of the Mysterious Maiden Method, his trousers were the only place left for

Leon to hide it.

She was certain that Leon wore undergarments and he would not be fully naked after removing his trousers.

She looked everywhere except for his trousers, so she could not give up.

“No way!” He gritted out.

As a man, he could not allow himself to remove his trousers in front of a woman.

“Why not? If you won’t remove them yourself, I’ll do it for you!” She gritted her teeth and reached out to grab his trousers.

“What the-” Rendered helpless, he shouted, “Wait! Fine! I will remove them myself, okay?!” He gritted out darkly.

“Alright!” She smirked smugly and sighed a breath of relief.

She was a young woman, so she could not possibly tear a man’s trousers off by herself, so she was only trying to scare Leon and would not be able to do anything if Leon insisted on not removing his trousers.

“I’ll take them off now,” He said, before gathering what was left of his spiritual energy and striking at Ruth’s Still Point.

“What?” Ruth gasped, not expecting Leon to attack. Since they were merely inches away from one another, she had no time to dodge and as soon as his finger jabbed into the compression point on her waist, she instantly lost all her strength and collapsed.

Leon took the chance to grab her wrist and pressed onto her Vital Gate. All it took was for him to apply pressure onto her Vital Gate and she would be rendered powerless.

However, he miscalculated about the fact that she fell onto his body as he tried to restrain her.

“Baam!”

Their heads instantly collided and Leon saw stars at the impact.

Before he could react, a warm sensation came from his cheek as Ruth pressed her lips against his cheek.

“What the-”

Both Leon and Ruth froze in shock.

“Damn it! Leon, you bastard! That was my first kiss!” Ruth sobered. Furious, she bit down onto his shoulder.

Leon gasped in pain and pinched at the Vital Gate on Ruth’s wrist, causing her to fall back onto his chest helplessly.

They glared at one another in silence and time seemed to have frozen over.

“Ahem!” Just then, they heard a sound.

Gilbert, Iris and Louisa somehow walked inside.

In their perspective, all they saw was Lean lying in bed half–naked while Ruth leaned against his chest.

Iris’s expression instantly darkened and a dark look appeared on Gilbert’s face as well, so Louisa immediately cleared her through to alert Leon.

Leon looked up at the sound of Louisa clearing her throat and met Iris’s cold eyes. “Louisa, Iris!”

Feeling like he was struck like lightning, his mind went blank.

Ruth did not expect for the three to appear out of the blue as well and leaped away from Leon like a deer in headlight.

“Leon, what are you doing with Ruth? Would you care to explain?” Iris gritted out furiously.

Leon was her boyfriend, yet he had his hands on another woman as he laid in bed. Iris was extremely upset to walk into such a sight.

“Iris, if I say that this is just a misunderstanding, will you believe me?” He smiled bitterly.

“What do you think?” Iris questioned sharply.

“Well,” Leon was rendered speechless, knowing that it would be extremely difficult to explain himself in this situation.

Ruth glanced at Iris and Leon, feeling devastated when she recalled how she kissed Leon. “Iris, Leon’s bullying me. You have to help me,” Her eyes reddened and she threw herself into Iris’s arms sobbing.

“Ruth Collins, how dare you!” Leon was stunned. He was the victim all along, yet Ruth shamelessly pointed the blame at him and cried as though he forced himself onto her.

If Ruth denied anything that happened, he might have been able to explain himself, but since she admitted to it, Iris was surely going to think that he tried to make a move on Ruth.

“Iris has always been loyal to you, yet you have betrayed her like a beast!” Gilbert roared with a dark expression.

“Uncle Gilbert, it’s not what you think,” Leon hastily attempted to explain himself, but was interrupted by Gilbert right away.

“Forget it. We all saw what happened. There’s no way you can talk your way out of this!” Gilbert shouted and turned to look at Iris with frustration. “Iris, I told you a long time ago that you shouldn’t trust him, but you just won’t listen. Well? Have you finally seen him for who he truly is?”

“Leon, you disappoint me!” Iris shot Leon a sorrowful look and headed outside.

“Iris, don’t go. Let me explain,” Concerned, Leon got up to run after Iris, but was too weak to get out of bed.

“You had this coming!” Gilbert snorted, before leaving.

“Leon, good luck!” Louisa sighed and shook her head, before following the two.

“You scum! This is the price for taking advantage of me just now!” Ruth glared at Leon and left.

She never intended to cause conflicts between Iris and Leon, but Leon accidently took her first kiss.

Though it was only on the cheek, it was her first time kissing a man and she refused to let him go unpunished.

“Why is this happening?” Leon watched as Iris left and fell onto the bed helplessly in devastation.

Meanwhile, in the yard.

Iris was upset after leaving Leon’s room.

She did not want Leon to bring Ruth home and was worried that the two would develop feelings for one another.

Leon explained repeatedly that it was only so that he could help with Ruth’s training, so she agreed with it reluctantly. However, her worst fear turned into reality when she found Leon trying to make a move on Ruth.

Not only did Leon betray her, he also lied to her and she was devastated.

“Don’t be upset, Iris. Leon isn’t that kind of a man. Maybe this is just a misunderstanding,” Louisa consoled her.

Those in the eye of the storm were easily blinded to the truth, so Louisa knew that Iris simply cared too much about Leon to see the truth; but she was different and could tell that nothing happened between Leon and

Ruth, or Ruth would have wreaked havoc by now.

“Louisa, stop defending that man! We all saw what happened. How can this be a misunderstanding?” Gilbert said angrily.

“We don’t know that! You have both misunderstood Leon multiple times before and he has always been proven innocent in the end, hasn’t he?” Louisa scoffed.

“Yeah, she is right!” Iris’s eyes lit up as she felt like she saw clearer.

Like Louisa mentioned, Iris did not place her trust in Leon, causing them to be parted from one another and she would be a fool to repeat the same mistake all over again since they were finally together again.

She instantly sobered and turned to stare at Ruth intently. “Ruth, were you telling the truth?”

“Well,” Ruth looked away and stuttered guiltily.

“Iris, the truth is right before you, so why bother lying to yourself? Leon is not a good man. Just break up with him! I think Anson is a better match for you!” Gilbert said.

He preferred Anson as his son–in–law all along and desperately wished that Iris could leave Leon and be with Anson, so that he could return to the Youngs using the Collins‘ influence.

“That’s right! Iris, I do love you with all my heart!” A luxurious sports car raced over and stopped in front of the yard. Anson opened the door and stepped out of it.

“Anson, why are you here?” Gilbert hurried over excitedly.

“Uncle Gilbert, it’s been a while,” Anson greeted him politely.

“Anson, what are you doing here?” Iris scowled.

She never liked the infamous womanizer before her, but since Anson was the one who helped her when Harold tried to take her away by force, she was no longer as appalled by him.

“Iris, I came for you. I bought this bouquet for you. I hope you like it.” He took out a gigantic bouquet from the passenger seat and handed it to Iris.

Despite the fact that Iris had a boyfriend, he refused to give up on her.

“It’s fine. Thank you for your kindness, but you should keep that!” She shook her head and refused the bouquet mercilessly.

“Iris, what are you doing? He’s being nice. Why would you turn him down?” Gilbert said.

“Dad, I know that you don’t like Leon and you have certain prejudices about him, but he’s the man I love and he’s my boyfriend. I’ll never leave him, whether you like it or not,” Iris said with determination.

“Why you!” Though furious, Gilbert refused to give up, “Iris, you need to wake up. You saw what happened earlier and a man like him doesn’t deserve you! If you continue to be this stubborn, you will regret it in the

future!”

“Alright, I get it. Just stop!” She sighed with resignation and turned to head into the living room.

“Iris, where are you going? Are you finally going to break up with him?” Gilbert was thrilled as he thought that he finally managed to convince Iris.

“No. I’m going to make Leon some soup that will get him to recover sooner.”

“What? You are making him soup?” Gilbert paled, feeling as though he fell into a pool of ice cold water. Realizing that all that he said went down the gutter, he hurtled after her. “Iris, wall up. Can you stop being so stubborn?”

Since Iris and Gilbert both left, Louisa followed them into the living room. “tris, let me help you with that soup!”

Once the three lett, Anson and Ruth were the only ones left in the yard.

“Ruth, I asked for your help to break Leon and Iris up. How is it going?” Anson walked over hastily and

asked.

“I was helping out, wasn’t I? What else do you think Gilbert is that angry with Leon?” Buth sald casually.

She never planned on getting involved, but accidently gave Anson a helping hand. However, Judging from Iris’s reaction, it was safe to assume that her trick did not work.

“That’s great! As expected of my sister. You haven’t let me down!” Anson praised her happily.

“Enough. I’ve done my part so it’s up to you to pursue Iris! Don’t bother me again in the future!” Ruth said, before returning to her room to meditate.

She successfully reached the Advanced Supreme State with the help of the Pure Energy Pill and she needed to meditate to reinforce her power.

Meanwhile, Loen laid in bed inside his room as he replayed what happened earlier bitterly.

He never expected Iris to place so little trust in him that she would not give him the chance to explain despite. all that they went through together and despair overwhelmed him.

Just then, he heard footsteps approaching and saw Iris walking in with a bowl of soup.

“Iris?” He gaped and rubbed his eyes in disbelief.

He thought that Iris left and would not come back since she was angry with him, so he did not expect her to

return to his room.

For a moment, he doubted if he hallucinated.

“I made you some soup, Leon,” She smiled gently and sat down by the bed.

“It’s really you! Iris, aren’t you mad at me?” He asked sheepishly.

“Do you want me to be mad at you?” She rolled her eyes at him.

“Of course, not,” He sobered and suppressed his excitement to explain himself, “Iris, it wasn’t what you think. Let me explain.”

“Fine. Explain. I’m listening.” She nodded.

After listening to what Louisa said in the yard, her trust in Leon was restored, but since she saw Leon and

Ruth in bed together with her eyes, she needed to know what happened between the two.

“Here’s the thing. Ruth wanted the other half of the Mysterious Maiden Method and she,” Leon explained the situation briefly.

“I see!” Iris exclaimed after listening to his explanation.

Once she knew that it was all just a misunderstanding, the wariness in her heart vanished.

“Iris, I’m telling the truth. Will you believe me?” He asked sheepishly, not knowing if she would choose to

believe him.

“Yeah. I believe you!” She beamed at him.

“Really? I’m so glad!” Leon was overjoyed as he did not expect Iris to believe him so easily and felt much more relaxed.

“Don’t be too excited just yet! I believe you, but this is the last time something like this happens! From now on, you have to keep your distance from Ruth and if something like this happens again, I won’t let it go so easily,” Iris warned him.

Though it was merely a misunderstanding, Ruth was one of the Four Beauties in Springfield City and was almost comparable to her in terms of beauty and demeanor, so Iris saw Ruth as a threat,

She understood what happened between Leon and Cynthia, so she refused to allow Ruth to become the next person to come between her and Leon.

“Yeah. Don’t worry. I promise that it won’t happen again,” He promised.

“Okay. The soup is getting cold, so finish it now,” She started feeding him spoon by spoon.

Relieved that their misunderstanding was resolved, he enjoyed being taken care of by Iris, but felt worried at the same time that Ruth might not give up on obtaining the other half of the Mysterious Maiden Method.

At night, Leon’s concern soon turned into reality when Ruth returned to his room. “Ruth, why are you in my room instead of sleeping?” He questioned sharply.

“What do you think? I told you that you won’t let you have a moment of peace as long as you refuse to hand me the other half of the Mysterious Maiden Method!” She smirked smugly, before walking over to the bed.

“What are you going to do? Do you still want to tear my pants off?” He held onto the blanket with dear life as he stared at her warily.

“As if! No one wants your pants!” She spatted with a blush. She was not that casual of a woman and would. have never gone to remove his trousers, so she could only give up seeing how reluctant Leon was.

“Good, then.” He sighed a breath of relief.

He thought that nothing could be worse than being asked to remove his trousers, but what Ruth said next proved him wrong.

“Leon, I’m sleeping in your room tonight!” She declared.

“What?! You are sleeping here?!”

Leon was shocked and could not believe what he heard. “Are you crazy, Ruth? How can a man and a woman be in the same bed when they aren’t even a couple?” Leon roared.

“Who told you we are sleeping on the same bed? Dream on! I’m sleeping on the bed and you are sleeping on the ground.” She said smugly.

“I see. You scared me for a moment there.” He sighed a breath of relief, before coming to a realization.” Hang on. Why should I sleep on the ground? What kind of sick joke is that?”

“Who’s joking? Are you going to make a frail woman like me sleep on the floor?” Ruth retorted.

He was rendered speechless as Ruth was hardly frail, not to mention that she invaded his room.

“What on earth is wrong with you, Ruth Collins? You have your own room, so why do you have to come and sleep in mine?” He questioned in displeasure.

“It’s simple. I told you that I’m not giving a single peaceful moment unless you hand me the other half of the Mysterious Maiden Method!” She said slyly. “If Iris Young sees me walking out of your room tomorrow morning, well.”

“What?! Damn you!” Leon paled and finally realized that Ruth tried to threaten him using Iris.

He just promised Iris that he would keep his distance from Ruth and if Iris found out that Ruth spent the night in his room, Iris would torture him.

Ruth was extremely sharp in spotting his Achilles‘ heel.

“So? I’ll give you one more time to reconsider. Are you going to give me the other half of the Mysterious Maiden Method, or should I stay the night here? Take your pick!” She grinned at him.

“As expected of a Collins! You sure are ruthless!” He gritted out, knowing that he was helpless under her threat.

“Thank you for the compliment! Can you hand the other half of the Mysterious Maiden Method out now?” She smiled smugly and reached her hands out to ask for the written record.

“Don’t think you’ve won just yet! I will never give you the entire method now! However, I can promise to teach you the method once you reach the Overlord State,” He scoffed and said reluctantly.

The Mysterious Maiden Method was an Absolute Method, so he would never hand her the completed version. no matter how hard she tried to threaten him, or she would go running back to the Collins with it.

Since he was placed in a difficult position, he could only make a promise to stall for the time–being.

By the time Ruth reached the Overlord State, he would have become far stronger and would be capable of protecting the people he loved, so it would be fine to teach her the entire method by then.
