Not only did George help Leon when he was in danger, he deeply injured Harold and Harold resented George and the Collins for interfering.
“Alright. Calm down! We still have Albert as our hostage and since we haven’t lost anything so far, what’s the point of being so frustrated over it? You’re going to get a heart attack if you continue to rile yourself up like that,” Daisy consoled him.
Though Harold was injured by George, Harold also managed to hurt Leon, so the situation for both sides were even. The only shame was that they wasted a great opportunity of eliminating Leon.
“That’s true. As long as we hold Albert hostage, we will have plenty of chances to deal with Leon. Missing one chance doesn’t mean anything!” Harold’s expression eased.
Albert became the key element in his plan of eliminating Leon. As long as Leon and Iris wanted to rescue Albert, there were plenty of chances for Harold to set up traps for him.
Leon was lucky to escape once, but he would eventually be caught.
Just then, they both heard footsteps approaching and Royce hurried into anxiously.
“Royce, what’s wrong? As the leader of the family, you can’t act so hysterical!” Daisy said with scowl.
“Mom, bad news! Leon took Grandpa away,” He said gloomily.
He regained consciousness shortly after Leon took Albert away with him. Sensing the severity of the situation, he immediately hurried to Daisy to inform her about it.
“What?!”
“He rescued Albert?!”
Both Daisy and Harold were startled into jumping on their feet. Neither of them expected Leon to turn back around and rescue Albert without alerting anyone.
Though surprised, they soon realized that there was more to the story.
“Royce, Leon doesn’t know where we keep Albert, so how did he manage to find Albert to begin with?” Daisy questioned.
“Well,” Royce muttered sheepishly.
“What’s going on? Spit it out!” Sensing his hesitation, she glared at him.
“Well, Leon barged in and captured me, before threatening me to take him to Grandpa,” He explained while shivering.
“What? So you did this!”
Daisy was furious and finally understood how Leon managed to rescue Albert.
“It’s not my fault, Mom! He threatened me into doing so. He would’ve killed me if I didn’t take him to Grandpa,” he muttered fearfully.
“Damn him! He pretended to run away and snuck back in to cause trouble! How sly! We’ve underestimated him!”
Both Daisy and Harold were furious as they were just planning to use Albert against Leon. Not only did Leon escape them, he managed to take Albert away with him.

They both felt humiliated and without Albert as their hostage, it would be difficult for them to trap Leon.
“No way! I can just let Leon take Albert from our hands!” Daisy slammed her fists against the table and turned to walk outside.
“Daisy, what are you going to do?” Harold scowled.
“I’m sending my men to go after him. We’re capturing both Leon and Albert!” Daisy roared angrily.
“There’s no point. It’s been too long and he probably isn’t in the area. It’s too late to send our men after him! “Harold shook his head.
“You don’t know that! Besides, there’s only one place he can go with Albert! We just need to go to Dragonbay Villas and grab them from Iris’s mansion!” Daisy said coldly.
“What?! Have you gone mad?! Leon is under the Collins‘ protection right now and if we march up there to kidnap him, we’d be declaring war against the Collins! How are we supposed to defend ourselves if the Collins decide to punish us for it?” Shocked, Harold immediately stopped Daisy from leaving.
Though they crossed fire with the Collins outside the Young Mansion earlier, both sides had legitimate reasons to do so and it did not count as a war between families. However, if Harold and Daisy decided to actively chase Leon down, the nature of their action would be different.
Leon was a sly man and they might not be able to capture or eliminate him with certainty. On the other hand, if they enraged Collins because of that, the Collins might send their two Overlords over and Harold, who was heavily injured, would not be able to protect the Youngs and the Lowes from the Collins.
The Youngs and the Lowes were certainly the ones who would suffer if they declared war against the Collins.
“What, then? Are we supposed to just accept it simply because Leon is under the Collins‘ protection?” Daisy muttered with a pout.
“There’s no hurry. I have an idea!” Harold said.
“What idea?” Confused, she asked.
“We’ll have someone else do the dirty work for us!” he sneered, “we aren’t Leon’s only enemy. The Fields have been dying to get rid of him! Let me rest for a few days and once I recover, I’ll head to the Field Mansion and convince Elder Fields to fight the Collins with us! If the Fields are willing to help, it’d be a piece of cake for us to eliminate Leon!” Harold said.
“That’s a great idea! With the Fields on our side, the Collins would face the army joined by the Youngs, the Lowes and the Fields for daring to protect Leon!” Overjoyed, Daisy beamed.
“That’s right! If the Collins know what’s best for them and give up, we could spare them; but if they insist on protecting Leon, we’ll join forces with the Fields and strike. Elder Collins is going to pay for injuring me!” Harold smirked as he narrowed his eyes viciously.
Meanwhile, in the Collins Mansion.
When George returned from the Young Mansion, he called Ruth to his room.
“Grandpa, do you need me for something?“

Ruth asked confusedly.
“Ruth, it’s been a while since you moved to the Dragonbay Villas. Have you found any leads about the Power Method by following Leon around?” George asked.
He called Ruth back to the family mansion specifically to ask about the Power Method and check on her progress in her search.
“The Power Method?” Her heart skipped a beat.
She did not discover any leads about any Power Methods, but managed to learn half of the content of an Absolute Method in secret.
Confused by Ruth’s silence, George repeated, “Ruth, why aren’t you speaking? Have you, or haven’t you found leads to the Power Method?”
“I-” She opened her mouth hesitantly, not knowing if she should inform her grandfather about the Absolute Method.
An Absolute Method was a top–class treasure to all martial artists and she knew that if George found out about it, he would capture Leon before Leon’s enemy had the chance to get to him, before torturing him to get the full content of the Mysterious Maiden Method.
Once George fully comprehended the Mysterious Maiden Method, he would murder Leon, Iris and Louisa in cold blood to stop them from retaliating, but also to prevent any information about the method from leaking to another family.
Just like how Leon tried to kill her when he realized that she studied the Mysterious Maiden Method in secret, George would do the same to eradicate all possibilities that could lead to problems.
Ruth was not a vicious woman and did not want Leon, Iris and Louisa to die.
Iris and Louisa begged Leon to spare Ruth when Leon was about to kill her and Ruth was extremely grateful, so she could never repay their kindness with such cruelty.
As for Leon, he was kind enough to stop himself from killing her in the end and Ruth knew that she would be the most despicable person for leading him to his death despite the mercy he showed her.
“Grandpa, I’m sorry. I haven’t found any leads,” She gritted her teeth and decided to lie about the Mysterious Maiden Method for the time being.
“I see!” George was disappointed for a moment, but recovered from it almost immediately. “It’s fine. A Power Method is extremely hard to come by and it makes sense that he hid it well enough for you to fail in finding it. Besides, our deal with him lasts for three years, so there is still time. Just keep searching for it!”
“Yeah, I know,” Ruth said, feeling slightly guilty for lying. However, an Absolute Method was enough to stir up a war among martial artists, so she knew that this was necessary to avoid a slaughter.
“By the way, has Leon helped with your training for the past few days?” George asked.
His deal with Leon was for Leon to make Ruth into an Overlord within three years. He crossed the Fields, Harold and the Youngs to protect Leon and all his effort would have meant nothing if Leon did not help with
Ruth’s training.

“Um, he helped a little,” she said reluctantly.
Ever since she moved into Iris’s mansion, Leon ignored her, so he definitely did not help at all with her
training.
Luckily, she hid under the bed earlier that day and overheard half of the content of the Mysterious Maiden Method, which helped her breakthrough to the next power level, so it could be considered Leon’s way of helping her.
“What do you, a little?” George questioned, sensing from the look on Ruth’s face that Leon lazed around, which was a blatant betrayal to all the hard work George put in to protect him.
“Well, he did help me get to the Intermediate Supreme State.” Ruth sighed. She could only give Leon the credit of what the Mysterious Maiden Method achieved to stop George from blaming Leon.
“What? He helped you get to the Intermediate Supreme State?! Seriously?!” Shocked, he jumped onto his feet.
“Yeah! If you don’t believe me, I can release my true energy now,” Ruth said, before releasing her true energy.
“How’s this possible?!” George was shaken.
He knew that Ruth only recently reached the Initial Supreme State and assumed that she would not have another breakthrough without another year of hard work. However, Leon somehow managed to get her to the next power level within the matter of days.
If George was not able to see Ruth’s improvement with his own eyes, he would have never believed it.
Naturally, if he found out that she managed to level up because she trained with an Absolute Method, he would be utterly stunned.
“My goodness. How’s Leon doing this? Not only is he leveling up at a crazy speed, he’s even capable of helping others achieve the same thing as well. He’s practically a genius!” George said, impressed by Leon’s ability.
“It’s all thanks to the Absolute Method. It has nothing to do with Leon,” She pouted and muttered, knowing perfectly well that it was something she could not tell her grandfather.
“What a shame! What a shame that he isn’t a Collins! If he is a member of our family, we would rule over Springfield City, and even the world, with ease!” He said painstakingly.
“That’s enough, Grandpa. He just gets lucky from time to time. Stop flattering him!” Ruth said with frustration.
If she obtained an Absolute Method earlier, she would have surpassed Leon with her talents.
“I’m not flattering him. I’m just telling the truth,” George studied the beautiful features on Ruth’s face and an idea began to form in his mind, “Ruth, a genius like Leon is hard to find. Do you want to try and steal him away from the Youngs?”
Ruth’s heart skipped a beat as an ominous feeling took over her. “What do you mean, Grandpa?”
“Ruth, you’re a woman and you will soon have to get married at some point! You’re a genius in martial arts and I’m sure that there isn’t another man around your age who deserves you better than Leon!“

“The two of you’re a perfect match! If you can marry him and pull him into this family, the Collins would thrive under your leadership!” George said excitedly.
During the sales drive organized by Cynthion Group, he proposed to marry Ruth to Leon and only tried to test Leon at the time. However, not only was Leon a skilled alchemist, he was also an extremely talented martial artist who was capable of helping others with breakthroughs as well.
At that very moment, George truly wanted Leon to be a part of the Collins.
“Grandpa, can you stop playing the matchmaker? I’m not at all interested in Leon. Besides, he is Iris Young’s boyfriend. I’m the eldest unwed daughter of the Collins, and you’re asking me to steal someone’s boyfriend? No way!” Ruth retorted.

Though Leon was a genius, so was Ruth. If she managed to obtain the Power Method from Leon, she would be more than capable of making the Collins strong. Once that was achieved, he would not need to try and tie Leon down with marriage.
“Alright. It’s getting late. Go to rest and return to Leon tomorrow morning,” George said.
“Okay,” she said, before leaving the room, only to find Anson standing outside the door.
“Ruth, come over here. I need to ask you about something.” He grabbed her by the arm and pulled her aside.
“What’s wrong?” She was confused.
“I asked for your help to break Leon and Iris up. How is it going?” Anson asked with anticipation.
“Oh!” She froze as she remembered that she indeed promised her brother to do so.
Leon ignored her most of the time and since she was dedicated to finding the Power Method, she completely forgot about it.
He studied the look on her face and questioned darkly, “Ruth, have you forgotten about it?”
“Geez, Anson. Iris and Leon are quite a good mate. Why would you have me break them up? Just leave them be!” Ruth said.
She only agreed to help because she thought that Leon was a player for hurting Iris and Cynthia, so she figured that she could always teach him a lesson. However, after the ambush planned by Harold and the Youngs, she saw how Leon refused to abandon Iris to run and her impression on him improved since, which was why she decided to not get involved in the love triangle.
“What? No way! You promised me! How can you go back on your own words?!” Shocked, he grabbed both of his hands. “Ruth, I really love Iris with all my heart. Please just help me, okay?”
“Why bother, Anson? There are plenty of beautiful women here in Springfield City and since Iris is already taken, why do you have to cling onto her?”

Ruth felt as though her head started to hurt.
“You don’t understand! Despite how many women there are, I only want Iris. That’s love! You haven’t fallen in love before and you won’t understand!” Anson said gloomily.
“Alright, stop acting all love–sick in front of me! I don’t have time for this!” She rolled her eyes at him and turned to leave.
Ruth. I “Don’t go!” Anson immediately dragged her back and said, “I heard everything Grandpa said to you, think what he said makes sense. You and Leon are a perfect match! Why don’t you date him so that I can be together with Iris? Isn’t that the perfect plan?”
“What?! You call that perfect?! Are you being serious right now?!” She widened her eyes in disbelief, not expecting her own brother to sell her off in order to pursue Iris.
Dating was not like grocery shopping when one could pick what they wanted, so she was furious that Anson even proposed such an idea.
“Ruth, I know that I’m out of line here but I’m begging you. Please help meQ This is directly related to my happiness for the rest of my life!” He pleaded, refusing to give up.
“Alright, alright! Just stop bugging me,” Feeling annoyed, she left without giving him a confirmed answer.
The next day at the Dragonbay Villas.
Leon was still weak and rested in bed. Apart from that, his left shoulder was injured by Harold, so he could
not move his left arm at all.
However, since Iris and Louisa treated his injury and he had a higher recovery rate compared to others, there was no permanent damage.
Just as he was about to drift off to sleep, he heard footsteps approaching and Ruth stepped inside.
“Leon, I heard from Louisa and Iris that you’re weak. What’s going on?” She asked as she walked toward the bed.
“I’ve suffered some internal injury. I’ll need to rest for a few days,” He said.
“But, that’s not right! You were perfectly fine when we parted ways the night before. How did your injury worsen to this extent?” Ruth questioned confusedly.
“Well, I was white knuckling through it last night,” Leon muttered.
He was only weak because he consumed the Dragon Pill, not because the state of his injury worsened. However, the Dragon Pills were his secret weapons and he refused to tell Ruth about it.
She looked around and poked at Leon, before asking, “Are you really that weak that you can’t get out of bed?
“Yeah, I guess,” He said.
He recovered slightly after resting for the night, but it would still be slightly hard for him to get out of bed.
“That’s great!” She chuckled excitedly.
“Great?” Stunned, he gaped at Ruth.
“This is Karma, Leon Wolf! This is what you get!”

Most importantly, if Ruth took the Dragon Pill and found out about what it was for, it would expose his secret and he had to prevent it from happening.
“Poisonous? As if! Judging from how nervous you are, this has to be something good! Don’t try to scare me!”
She retorted.
“Why you! Fine. Take one, then! The purple pills are made with crushed scorpions, centipedes and the gall bladders of snakes. One pill will get you to the Advanced Supreme State!” He said calmly.
“What?!” She gasped in fear.
Women usually feared insects and snakes, and she was instantly disgusted by the pills once she learnt the ingredients.
“If you don’t believe me, you can take one! I assure you that it’ll work right away!” He continued to encourage her.
“Like I’m going to believe you!” She snorted and put the Dragon Pills back hastily.
The more reluctant Leon was in letting her take the pills, the more she wanted to take them; and since Leon seemed to be trying to get her to take them, she decided against it out of fear that it was a trap.
“Believe whatever you want to!” He said impatiently, feeling relieved.
“What’s this one, then, Leon? I haven’t seen this before.” Ruth opened another flask and took out a few Spirit Nurturing Pills.
“I don’t know! Guess!” He shot her an annoyed look.
“Why you! Fine! I’ll take one if you won’t say anything!” She moved one of the pills closer to her lips, while glancing at Leon to check on his reaction.
“Whatever!” He scoffed.
The Spirit Nurturing Pills were used to enhance spiritual energy, so it would not work for martial artists. Since nothing would happen even if Ruth took one, he did not care.
“Looks like this isn’t something helpful, after all! I won’t fall for your traps!” Feeling like she saw right through Leon, she smirked and placed the pills back into the flask.
She then opened another flask that contained the premium Energy Nurturing Pill.
“Leon, these are Energy Nurturing Pills, right?” She instantly recognized them.
“So what if they are?” He said.
“But! They look kind of different from the first–grade Energy Nurturing Pill I took before.”
She felt slightly confused.
The premium Energy Nurturing Pill and the first–grade Energy Nurturing Pill both contained a core of true energy which she could sense once she fired up her true energy.
However, the energy within the pills before her seemed to be much purer compared to the ones she took in the past.
“Let me try one!” Since she recognized it to be an Energy Nurturing Pill, she saw no need in seeking Leon’s opinion and swallowed one.
It melted inside her mouth instantly and transformed into a wave of pure energy which flowed toward her energy core.

“Don’t even think about it! Do whatever you want to me. I can’t call myself a man if I budge!” He said.
After all that Ruth did for him, he considered if he should give her the other half of the Mysterious Maiden Method, but was worried that she would tell George and the Collins about it, which might lead him, Iris and Louisa into danger.
In order to secure their safety, he ultimately decided not to give the other half of the Mysterious Maiden Method to Ruth.
Since Ruth did not reach the Overlord State, half of the Mysterious Maiden Method would be enough to help with her training.
Once he became more powerful and was capable of protecting himself, he would reconsider if he wanted to give her the other half.
“Why you! Damn it!” frustrated that he would not budge, she said, “fine. If you won’t give it to me, I’ll look for it myself!”
She stood up and walked over to the hanging rack to grab Leon’s jacket.
She took the time to go through Leon’s room in the afternoon the day before and found nothing, so she assumed that he might be carrying the written record of the Mysterious Maiden Method with him inside his jacket.
“Ruth, why are you grabbing my coat? There are no records of the methods there. Put it back!” He protested with annoyance.
“And I’m just supposed to believe that because you say so? Do you take me for a child?” She did not believe him and dug into all the items inside the pockets of his jacket.
She found a few jade flasks that contained a great number of alchemical pills.
“Leon, why do you carry so many alchemical pills?” She gasped.
“Are you really that surprised? I’m an alchemist and I made all the alchemical pills Cynthion Group sold. Isn’t it normal for me to carry them around?” He said impatiently.
“That’s true! What’s this purple pill, though?” She grabbed a random flask and shook out a purple, crystal- like pill.
One look and she already knew that it was not an ordinary pill.
She saw the Energy Nurturing Pills and Beauty Pills sold by Cynthion Group, but she never saw any purple- colored pills so she did not know their function.
“That’s I won’t tell you!” His heart sank, because the purple pill she held was the Dragon Pill.

took one of the pills and was about to put it into her mouth.
“What?! Ruth, you can’t just take alchemical pills that casually. Aren’t you worried that it’s poisonous? Put it back and stop going through my stuff!” Shocked, he roared.

“Karma? Have you gone mad or something? What are you talking about?” He continued to gape at her.
“You’re the crazy one! You bullied me yesterday, knowing that you’re more powerful than me. Did you forget about it? Now the tables have turned and it’s time for me to get my revenge!” She grinned mischievously.
“What? Wh- What are you going to do?” He paled, realizing that Ruth held a grudge over what happened the day before.
“What do you think? You scared me when you proposed to kill me yesterday! I’m going to torture you today or I won’t be able to let this go!” She gritted out as she cracked her knuckles.
“You’re going to torture me? I’m sick in bed and you want to do that to an ill person?” He questioned helplessly, all the while reminding himself internally not to cross a woman.
“I can spare you! I’ll give you one chance to give me the other half of the Mysterious Maiden Method, and I’ll let you live!” She smirked smugly.
She only meant to scare Leon and aimed to obtain the full Mysterious Maiden Method taking advantage of his weakened state.
“So that’s what you are after!” He said with realization and refused without hesitation. “No way! I’ll never give you the other half of it. Give up!”
“How stubborn! How dare you argue with me when you are this weak?! I guess you won’t give up show you what I’m capable of!” Frustrated, she pinched him on the waist and twisted. until I
Leon gasped in pain and roared, “Just wait, Ruth Collins! Once I recover, I’m going to make

“Who are you trying to scare? I’m not scared of you! Did you forget that you and Iris only survived last night. because I went to my grandpa and brought him to your rescue in time? After what happened the night before, she could tell that Leon was a man who valued his friends and took his responsibilities seriously, so she knew that he would never hurt her since she helped him.
“Well,” Leon was rendered speechless, because Ruth was right about how she and the Collins saved his life.
On top of that, Ruth was also the one who risked her life to save Iris when Harold tried to capture Iris to threaten him.
After what Ruth did for him, he would never hurt her even after he recovered.

“Isn’t that normal? What’s so weird about keeping the best for myself?” He rolled his eyes and stared at her like she was the stupidest person he ever met.
“Well,” Ruth was instantly rendered speechless.
“Have you had enough fun? I’m warning you, Ruth Collins. I have my limits and you better stop here!” Leon warned.
“Stop? No way. Since these Energy Nurturing Pills work this well, I guess I’ll take them all!”
She chuckled and placed the flask into her pocket.
“What?! That’s robbery!” He accused darkly.
He never imagined that Ruth would go through his belongings and claim them as her own, and he refused to put up with that.
“So what if I’m robbing you? You deserve this for not giving me the remaining half of the Mysterious Maiden Method!” She said.
“Why you!” Furious, he glared daggers at her as he was powerless at the moment. “Ruth, Iris, Louisa and I all need the pills with our training. If you take them all, what are we going to use?” He tried to reason with her despite his anger.
“You are an alchemist, aren’t you? You can just make more!” She batted her eyes innocently.

If you want them, I can give you a few pills, but you can’t take them all!” He explained impatiently, resenting the fact that he had to make compromises with such an unreasonable. woman despite being robbed.
