The Ex-Husband’s Revenge chapter 1571
“Let you go? Do you think that’s possible? Well, let me tell you this; after I get my hands on you, I will strip you naked and hang you on a pole in the busiest part of the city, so the entire Southern region will be able to see what’s underneath little Miss Thompson’s dress! After that happens, I’d like to see how the Thompsons are going to clear their name!” Asmodeus sneered, and a glint of excitement flashed through his eyes.
Roanne sat up as though she was struck by lightning.
She was always confined to her house as a result of her illness and thus longed to explore the outside world, but she never once dreamed that after Leon managed to cure her disease and give her the gift of freedom, she would fall into the hands of someone like Asmodeus before she got a chance to see the world!
What scared her the most was that Asmodeus not only wanted to dishonor her, he even wanted to humiliate her and the rest of the Thompsons after she died!
Roanne was an innocent girl, and could never begin to fathom such a cruel act!
Her entire mind was filled with nerve–wracking terror at the thought of her impending fate!
“Help me! Father, Mother, where are you? Please help me!” She burst into tears as fear and despair seeped into her heart.
“Scream all you want, my dear, but no one will hear you even if you shout yourself hoarse!” Asmodeus cackled. Roanne’s terror only seemed to turn him on even more, and at this point, his blood was boiling with lust!
Just as he was about to reach out and grab hold of Roanne, a bad feeling zipped through his mind, and the smile froze on his face.
“Who’s that? Come out, come out, wherever you are!” Asmodeus snarled and turned to glance sharply at a corner of the living room.
Then, without a single moment’s hesitation, he stepped forward and unleashed a surge of power in the same direction.
Since Asmodeus spent too much time switching vehicles to evade being followed on his way here, it did not take too long for Leon to track them down with the Soul Searcher.
Not long after Asmodeus reached home, Leon arrived too.
Unfortunately, Leon’s power level was so low that Asmodeus discovered him as soon as he snuck into the yard and did not even hesitate to attack him, despite not being able to see him.
“Rats!” Thankfully, Leon was quick on his feet and managed to evade most of Asmodeus‘ attack with an agile tumble.
However, he was so far below Asmodeus‘ power level that no matter how hard he tried, he could not manage to dodge Asmodeus‘ attack completely.
“Thud!”
With a thump, a surge of pain shot through Leon’s chest as Asmdeus‘ attack caught him squarely in the middle of his chest and sent him propelling through the air. He finally landed on the ground in a heap, spitting out a mouthful of blood.
Fortunately, Leon was so far away from Asmodeus that his attack did not cripple him entirely, and combined with the fact that he had the Mirror of Sovereign protecting him, Leon only suffered some light injuries.

“You again! I can’t believe how daft you are to come after me again!” Asmodeus was shocked to see that it was Leon.
Considering that he attacked Leon once before while they were at the Thompson’s, he thought Leon would suffer severe injuries from that, and he never once dreamed Leon would show up before him once more, unscathed!
This shocked Asmodeus greatly.
However, he was not the only one surprised by this–even Roanne was stunned to see him.
“Leon, what are you doing here?” Roanne rubbed her eyes, trying to see if she was dreaming this.
She already lost all hope of making it out alive, but now, Leon showed up miraculously in her last moments of despair!
A glimmer of hope ignited within her heart at this.
“I-” Leon’s face was pale as he opened his mouth to explain.
He already prepared himself for this; when Asmodeus found him, he would bring out his Potential Energy Force and kill Asmodeus without a second’s hesitation!
However, reality did not often go as planned, and now that Roanne was standing only a few feet away from Asmodeus, Leon was worried that the malicious Asmodeus would go for Roanne if he insisted on attacking him head–on!
If that happened, he would not be able to save Roanne even if he could use his Potential Energy Force!
At the thought of this, Leon did not dare to make another move for fear of putting Roanne in danger.
“Well, since you’re here already, I might as well send you on your way!” Asmodeus sneered. He was one of the eight most wanted criminals in the city and was renowned for his ruthlessness and lack of remorse. Before Leon could even react, Asmodeus already unleashed a surge of power Leon’s way!
“Oh no!” the color drained from Leon’s face. He wanted to use the Potential Energy Forces against Asmodeus but hesitated out of consideration of Roanne’s position, but now that Asmodeus attacked without warning, he had no choice but to use it–it was either this or death!
However, an idea popped into Leon’s head at the last possible moment. He staggered backward, trying to dodge Asmodeus‘ attack, and yelled, “Don’t you want to know why I’m here, Asmodeus?”
“Um,” Asmodeus paused, and his attack froze in mid–air. Leon’s words reminded him that he managed to evade the Thompsons just a few hours ago, but if so, what was Leon doing here?
“What are you doing here, you twat?” Asmodeus asked coldly, a dubious expression on his face.
“Well, I’ll tell you this–I came with the rest of the Thompsons! They have brought two Almighty Warriors with them, who have already surrounded the house, ready to ambush you at any second. If you want to live, you’d better admit defeat right now, but if you don’t, you’ll suffer a horrific death if you so much as take a step!” Leon snarled, trying to remain calm. As he said this, he silently inched toward the direction of the living room without missing a beat.
“What?” Asmodeus was stunned to hear this. He grabbed hold of his cuff, perking himself up in preparation for combat.
Since he met Leon at the Thompsons‘ place, he assumed Leon was with them, and the fact that Leon managed to track him down so quickly meant that the Thompsons were likely already here too!
The Thompsons were one of the oldest martial arts families in the Southern region, and it would not be difficult for them to send two Almight Warriors on his trail!
Therefore, Asmodeus did not once doubt Leon’s statement at all.
Instead, he remained frozen in place to avoid falling into the warriors‘ trap.
Then, he glanced in every direction of the yard, trying to see if he could sniff out the two warriors‘ hiding place. If anything happened, he could attack them by harnessing the power of the Cuff of Doom, or grab hold of Roanne and use her as a hostage!

At the same time, Leon circled past Asmodeus and darted into the living room, straight toward Roanne, without a moment’s hesitation.
Asmodeus could sense Leon near his feet, but now, he was effectively put on edge by Leon’s warning and did not dare to move even an inch.
Besides, Leon was far less powerful than him, and thus he was not at all bothered!
Asmodeus knew that it would be as ABC for him to defeat Leon and thus was not at all worried about Leon rescuing Roanne from right underneath his nose. Now that Leon voluntarily snuck into his living room, it would work out even better for him–with Leon’s addition, he would have one more person to hold hostage against the Thompsons!
Therefore, Asmodeus took no notice of Leon at all and instead remained fixated on trying to find the two Almighty Warriors hidden in his yard.
“Where are the warriors, Leon? Please ask them to save us!” Roanne was delighted to see Leon appear before her, and her heart ignited with newfound hope.
“There are no warriors! I made it all up!” Leon smiled, feeling as though a weight was lifted off his shoulders. Now that he was close enough to protect Roanne, and with that Potential Energy Force to help him, he could easily take down Asmodeus!
“What?” the smile froze on Roanne’s face. She thought she would finally stand a chance against Asmodeus with the two Almighty Warriors hidden in the shadows, ready to save her at any moment, but it turned out Leon made it all up to trick Asmodeus!
Roanne felt as though a giant bucket of ice water was poured all over her, putting out the flames of her newfound hope.
At this moment, Asmodeus already finished scanning through the entire yard, and there was no trace of the Almighty Warriors anywhere. He realized he was tricked!
“Where the hell are the Almighty Warriors you were telling me about, you twat? You were spinning me around in circles all along!” Asmodeus could not help letting out a sigh of relief, despite his rage at being deceived.
After all, he was only at the Semi Almighty State, and if there were truly two Almighty Warriors waiting to ambush him, there was no way he would be able to escape even with the hostages and the Cuff of Doom to help!
Thankfully, this was all just a trick, and he could not help feeling relieved at that.
“So what if I was?” Leon chuckled at this, but he did not miss a beat as he reached into his jacket and pulled out the Potential Energy Force.
“You’ll taste my wrath!” Asmodeus was utterly infuriated by Leon’s attitude. Without a moment’s hesitation, he unleashed a powerful surge of energy toward Leon’s direction, prepared to defeat him once and for all.
“Careful, Leon,” the color drained from Roanne’s face, and despair crossed her face at this sight.
Although she did not know the true extent of Leon’s powers, she witnessed Leon falling fallen before Asmodeus two times in a row, and she could easily deduce that Leon was no match for Asmodeus at all!
There was no doubt that both she and Leon would fall victim to Asmodeus that day!
One could only imagine her fear and worry at this realization!

“You’re going to regret this, Asmodeus! Take this!” Leon was already prepared for this and immediately drew out his Potential Energy Force, raising it above his head and bringing it down to defeat Asmodeus once and for all!
“Me? How cocky of you to say this, you twat.” Asmodeus burst into laughter at this, his eyes filled with contempt.
He was familiar with Leon’s powers and thus knew that Leon’s combat skills were a far cry from his. He could easily defeat Leon without even batting his eye!
However, Leon dared to threaten him like this, and it amused Asmodeus to see this.
Before he could even finish, what happened next shocked Asmodeus to the core-
“Thud-”
A surge of power erupted all around Leon as he drew the Potential Energy Force out, and it was as though the air froze all around them with only the particles of the Potential Energy Force buzzing with power.
“What’s this?” Asmodeus was horrified when he sensed the sheer power contained within the Potential Energy Force. He never once saw anything like this before, and although he was already in the Semi Almighty State, he still felt small before it!
Not only that, but years of combat experience were telling him that there was no way he could get out of this alive, and this sent a surge of fear and despair coursing through his veins!
“How incredible!” Roanne was also stunned by this. She could not understand how Leon managed to harness such incredible power, despite being mediocre in his martial arts training.
Thankfully, the Potential Energy Force was only directed at Asmodeus and not her at all, and with Leon shielding her, there was no way the Potential Energy Force would hurt her, but she still could not help quivering in fear at this.
“Die, you twat!” Asmodeus snapped out of his stupor. The first thought that leaped into his head was to kill Leon right on the spot so he could not unleash this power on them.
However, Leon already drew it out, so the closer Asmodeus got, the more resistance and power he felt!
Asmodeus knew that if he forcibly went nearer and entered within a meter’s radius of Leon, the sheer force harnessed by the Potential Energy Force would crush him into pieces!
Therefore, without a moment’s hesitation, Asmodeus turned and fled.
Unfortunately, Leon’s Potential Energy Force was already fixed on him as a target, and no matter how far he ran, he would not be able to escape its wrath.
“Come get a taste of your own medicine, Asmodeus!” Leon sneered and waved the Potential Energy Force in his hand, angling it in the direction Asmodeus fled and sending the surge of power that way.
“I’ll fight you to my death if I have to!” the color drained from Asmodeus‘ face as he tried to stifle his fear. Then, harnessing the Cuff of Doom’s power, he unleashed a surge of Semi Almighty energy to counter
Leon’s attack.
Leon was a little nervous at this. He witnessed the true extent of the Potential Energy Force’s power before and knew that it could easily defeat warriors of the Emperor State, but the Cuff of Doom was an Almighty Weapon and was not to be underestimated.
On top of that, Leon was unsure of Master Haslewood’s power level, and whether the gift he gave could defeat Asmodeus at all.
However, what happened next proved to Leon he underestimated Master Haslewood after all!

With a deafening thud, Leon’s Potential Energy Force tore Asmodeus‘ attack right apart and landed squarely in the middle of his chest. Not only that, but the energy surged right through him, coming out the other side and leaving a bowl–sized hole in his flesh!
“How can this be?” Asmodeus lowered his head to gape at the hole in his chest, his eyes wide with shock and horror. Then, with a thump, his body tipped forward and landed on the ground, thus signifying the end of his horrendous life.
“This is amazing! Master Haslewood’s tricks do work after all!” Leon was overjoyed to see this. He finally realized just how powerful his master was–not even an Almighty Weapon could stand a chance against Master Haslewood’s attacks!
Roanne was even more stunned by this. She popped her head out from behind Leon and rubbed her eyes when she saw Asmodeus‘ body on the floor, unable to believe her own two eyes.
“Leon, you killed Asmodeus! This is incredible!” Roanne was so delighted by this that her face flushed red from the excitement. Then, she clutched Leon’s arm and danced around in sheer ecstasy.
She witnessed the true extent of Asmodeus‘ power before–this was a criminal so ruthless that not even her father, Angus, or any of the Thompson’s master martial artists could defeat him. When he kidnapped her, they were at such a loss that none of them could do anything but watch him leave with her!
However, now, Leon defeated this devil all by himself and saved her just in time!
One could only imagine the sheer joy and happiness she felt!
“Miss Thompson, let me help you out of there,” Leon glanced at Roanne’s torn shirt sleeve, then took off his jacket and draped it over her. Then, with a few prods, he released Roanne from her bonds and restored her powers.
“Thank you, Leon. Thank you for saving me just in time, otherwise, there’s no telling how I would’ve ended up,” A surge of warmth spread through Roanne’s heart when she sensed Leon’s scent and warmth wafting off his jacket. She knew that if Leon did not show up just in time, she would not only have been dishonored by Asmodeus but even possibly tortured to death, after which Asmodeus would place her corpse in the busiest part of town to get revenge on the Thompsons!
This was a scene that still sent chills down her spine at the thought of this.
“Don’t worry. Everything is over now!” Leon reassured her, smiling when he sensed her terror.
“Yes, everything is over now,” Roanne grinned. She cast Leon a tender look as a peculiar sensation spread into her heart.
Leon first healed her with his medical expertise, then saved her from the claws of a devil just as she lost all hope in living!
This was like a fairy tale, where the prince would always save the beautiful princess in times of crisis.
This tugged at Roanne’s heartstrings, and from that moment onwards, the image of Leon’s bravery got etched in her heart, forging a memory that no one would ever be able to replace!

“By the way, Leon, since you’re so powerful, why didn’t you defeat Asmodeus sooner?” Roanne could not help asking rather dubiously.
She witnessed Leon kill Asmodeus with just one stroke earlier, and suddenly realized just how powerful Leon was, therefore, she could not help wondering why Leon did not defeat Asmodeus sooner and instead suffered two attacks from Asmodeus before finally retaliating.
“Well, the Potential Energy Force which I used to defeat Asmodeus doesn’t differentiate friend from foe, and if I used it earlier, I was worried that it would hurt you by mistake,” Leon explained.
“Wow, you were thinking of me all along?!” Roanne felt as though her heart skipped a beat as a strange feeling surged into her heart.
She finally realized that Leon was capable of killing Asmodeus right on the spot, back when he kidnapped her from the Thompsons‘ place.
However, because she was still in Asmodeus‘ hands, Leon did not dare to risk anything and instead would rather put himself in danger by tracking Asmodeus down, during which he suffered two attacks from Asmodeus but chose not to retaliate for fear of putting her at risk.
He did all this to protect her!
One could only imagine how touched Roanne felt by all this.
“Leon, you’re the angel that God must’ve sent to protect me. Thank you for being here,” Roanne finally could not stifle her emotions any longer. Tears brimmed in her eyes as she plucked up the courage to pull
Leon into her arms.
“Um,” Leon was stunned by this. He never dreamed that Roanne would hug him out of nowhere, and his hands dangled in mid–air, unsure of where to place them.
“Miss Thompson, your father, and mother are worried sick about you. We’d better get back soon,” Leon quickly snapped out of his stupor and pried Roanne away from him. He thought Roanne was just doing this out of excitement and relief, and thus did not think too much about it.
“Alright, then, but there’s one thing I’d like to say, Leon. Please stop calling me Miss Thompson, from now on, you can call me Roanne,” Roanne said, biting her lip nervously.
“Um, alright then, Roanne.” Leon agreed after a brief moment’s hesitation. Just as they were about to leave, however, he recalled something and paused in his footsteps.
“Wait for a while, Roanne. I need to grab something!” he called out as he strode back toward Asmodeus‘ body.
“What is it?” Roanne was puzzled by this and turned to follow Leon’s gaze. When she caught sight of Asmodeus‘ dead body lying in a pool of blood, the color drained from her face.
She was engrossed in her relief of being saved that she did not even think of Asmodeus‘ dead body, and now, the sight of the bloody, gaping hole in Asmodeus‘ chest terrified her. She quickly turned her head aside, afraid to look.
“It’s the Cuff of Doom! This is a piece of Almighty Weapon, and we shan’t waste it!” Leon could sense
Roanne’s fear, so he quickly snatched the cuff out of Asmodeus‘ limp hand and returned to Roanne’s side.
“Alright, let’s go!” He said, smiling, and the two of them strode away.
As for Asmodeus‘ body, it would prove itself useful to Leon as well; he could hand it over to the Dragon Corps in exchange for merit, but he wanted to send Roanne home first. After all, he could always come back again later!

Thompson Mansion.
Since the plan to trap Asmodeus failed miserably, the Thompsons‘ team of martial artists, which included Angus himself, finally returned home.
At this moment, Arthur and the rest of the Thompsons, including Vivian and Yuri, were waiting in the living. room anxiously for news of Angus‘ return.
Now that it was three hours since Roanne’s kidnapping, Vivian was worried sick about the lack of news from Angus‘ side, and could barely keep herself still.
“Thud, thud, thud-”
All of a sudden, footsteps rang out as Angus and the rest of the martial artists finally returned.
“What’s going on now, Angus? Where’s Roanne? Did you manage to save her?” Vivian was the first to approach them nervously at the sight of her husband.
“No,” Angus shook his head, and there was not a hint of color on his face.
“What?” Vivian felt as though she was struck by lightning. All her hope seemed to disintegrate with that one syllable.
Then, without warning, her legs gave out beneath her, and her vision went dark as she crumpled to the ground.
Thankfully, Yuri managed to catch her just in time.
“How can this be Angus? Didn’t you say you’d be able to save Roanne? Why aren’t you saving her now? why didn’t you manage to save her?” Vivian grabbed hold of her husband, her eyes brimming with frantic tears.
“Vivian, I’m sorry, but I,” Angus opened his mouth to say something, but no words came out. He initially thought that Asmodeus would never stand a chance against them, considering that with the other families‘ help, they overpowered him significantly.
However, to their surprise, plenty of people emerged out of nowhere to help Asmodeus escape, which was how their plan failed!
“What use does sorry make? Will your apology bring Roanne back? Now that Asmodeus has escaped, what will happen to my precious Roanne?” Vivian wailed.
“I,” Angus was speechless at this. His heart sank at the realization that he did not know how to face his wife.
He knew that Asmodeus was a ruthless person, and coupled with the fact he and the Thompsons had a vengeance that ran back, Angus knew that Roanne had a slim chance, if any at all, of making it out alive!
Even he found it difficult to accept this fact, much less explain it to his wife!
“If we knew things would turn out this way, we should’ve listened to Leon. Maybe he could’ve saved Roanne,
Vivian sobbed. She gained a lot of trust in Leon ever since he successfully treated Roanne’s condition.
Although Angus did not believe in Leon’s capabilities when he offered to help track Asmodeus down, she believed him, but because of Angus‘ insistence, Vivian decided to go with her husband instead, considering the urgent nature of this.
However, it turned out that her husband was not capable of rescuing their daughter at all!
“Yes, we should’ve believed in Mister Wolf!” Yuri, too, was regretful of this, but it was too late now.

“So what if we listened to him? How could we possibly have been able to track Asmodeus down? He’s evaded capture from us for so long now!” Angus sighed. He, unlike Vivian and Yuri, still thought that Leon was just being overly confident, and he was certain that the outcome would be the same if he chose to believe Leon!
“Angus is right! Asmodeus is sly and deceitful and has even prepared for this beforehand. If not even us Thompsons can find him, no one can!” The rest of the martial artists had Angus’s back.
Although none of them knew who this Mister Wolf was, they could still guess that the outcome would be no different if they chose to go with him—if not even the Thompsons, the most powerful family in the Southern region, could do it, no one can!
“Angus, Vivian, we’ve already tried our best. Now that things have come to this point, there’s nothing you can do but be prepared for the worst,” Arthur announced in a low voice.
Arthur was the head of the family, and since he already said so, this meant that the Thompsons were officially giving up on trying to search for Asmodeus and save Roanne.
After all, the Southern region was so big, and coupled with the fact that Asmodeus vanished into thin air, searching for him would be like trying to find a needle in a haystack!
They had no other choice except to give up!
“What? How can you do this? Uncle Arthur, please, I beg you to find some other way to save my Roanne,” Vivian pleaded.
“She’s right, Uncle Arthur! If we continue searching, we might have a sliver of hope of finding Roanne, but if we choose to give up right now, then it will be impossible!” Angus was not willing to give in so easily either.
“Angus, it’s not that I don’t want to save Roanne, but Asmodeus is so good at hiding that not even the Dragon Corps managed to find him after so many years. If we continue sending our men out to search for him, it will all be in vain!” Arthur sighed.
“But,” Vivian was still not willing to let this go, but before she could even finish her sentence, a young man dressed in expensive clothes interrupted her. “Aunt Vivian, I think you should stop pestering Grandpa! I apologize for saying this, but it’s been so many hours since Roanne was kidnapped by Asmodeus, and if things went according to Asmodeus‘ plan, she’d be dead by now!
“I suggest that you and Uncle Angus start preparing the funeral proceedings!” the man said as a glint of triumph flashed through his eyes.
This was Yonas, Arthur’s grandson and the eldest son of the Thompsons‘ second bloodline.
Since Arnold, Angus‘ father, died when Angus was still a child and could not ascend to the throne, the authority was handed over to Arthur, his younger brother. Because of this, the Thompsons‘ throne was reigned by the second bloodline, Arthur’s descendants, for many years now, and as the eldest son of the second bloodline, Yonas was next in line for the throne.
However, unfortunately, both Angus and Yuri proved themselves to be outstanding leaders, which put Yonas in a disadvantaged position. Yuri was one of the youngest and most excellent martial artists in the Southern region, and was widely acclaimed to be a prodigy!
With Yuri outshining him at everything possible, Yonas knew that Arthur and the rest of the elders would undoubtedly hand the authority back to the first bloodline for the family to prosper.
As reluctant as he was to admit it, there was nothing Yonas could do about this.

“Funeral proceedings? No, that’s impossible. Nothing will happen to my Roanne,” Vivian felt as though she was struck by lightning. She crumpled onto the ground in a heap and burst into tears of despair.
As much as she denied it, she knew that Yonas was just spouting facts!
Now that Roanne was captured for so many hours now, knowing Asmodeus‘ malicious side, there was no doubt that she would have been killed by now!
Nothing would change even if the Thompsons continued to send their best men out to search the entire city for them!
“Also, Asmodeus holds vengeance against us, since he holds us responsible for Beelzebub’s death! I’m certain that he will attempt to sneak back in here again and take revenge on us in the future, so we have to keep our guards up for that!” Yonas added.
The truth was, he secretly longed for Asmodeus to sneak in and kill Yuri so that he would no longer have any competition for the throne, but on second thought, he knew that he and Yuri were both descendants of the throne and thus would be equal targets of Asmodeus‘ vengeance.
There was no telling who Asmodeus would choose to kill if he were to, but he wanted to err on the side of caution and warn everyone.
“Yes, Yonas is right! Our priority should be tightening our defenses so that Asmodeus won’t have a chance to strike again! From this moment onwards, we shall keep our guards up, and if Asmodeus dares to come again, we will kill him right on the spot and avenge Roanne’s death!” Arthur declared.
“Yes, sir,” the martial artists chirruped in unison.
“Alright, that’s all for today. Angus, unfortunately, things happen. You and Vivian should get some rest first, and start preparing the funeral proceedings in a couple of days!” Arthur strode over and gently patted Angus ‘shoulder. He wanted to reassure them but did not know what to say.
“How–how can this be? Someone please save my daughter!” Vivian started sobbing even harder at this. Her entire heart seemed to have frozen over with despair and anguish.
Angus and Yuri were no better; their eyes were red–rimmed from crying, and their hearts sank with resignation.
“Father, Mother, I’m home-
All of a sudden, a melodic voice rang out from behind them as Roanne trotted into the room, grinning from ear to ear as she dragged Leon in by the hand.
Arthur, Yonas, and the rest froze in sheer shock at the sight of this.
Even Vivian was stunned by this. She stopped crying out of sheer disbelief.
The entire room fell into pin–drop silence as everyone revealed this sudden twist of events.

“What’s going on here, Father, Mother?” Roanne was stunned to see the living room in a state of chaos, and the sight of her mother, slumped on the ground crying, was even more astonishing.
“Roanne, you’re home! You came home, safe and sound! This is incredible news!” Vivian was overjoyed by this. She leaped up from the ground, sprinted toward her daughter, and pulled her into a gigantic hug, tears of joy streaming down her face.
The rest of the family finally broke out of their stupor at this point. Angus and yuri approached them quickly.
“Are you okay, Roanne?” Angus asked with a worried look. He, yuri, and Vivian quickly checked her all over, concerned that Asmodeus hurt her somehow.
“I’m fine,” she shook her head.
“That’s great!” the three of them felt as though a weight was lifted off their shoulders.
After getting ahold of his excitement, Angus finally calmed down and asked, “What happened, Roanne? Didn’t you get kidnapped by Asmodeus? Did he let you go?”
“No, Father, Asmodeus didn’t let me go. It was Leon who saved me,” she replied, pointing at the man standing behind her.
“Leon saved you? Did he manage to track down Asmodeus? How can this be?” Angus could not believe his ears. Although Leon claimed he would be able to do so, he thought Leon was just being overly confident and did not believe a single word of his!
Angus never dreamed that Leon would be able to track down Asmodeus and even single–handedly rescue
Roanne from him!
One could only imagine his shock at this realization.
However, Angus was not the only one in disbelief; Arthur and the rest of the Thompsons were equally shell- shocked by this.
All of them knew how sly and cunning Asmodeus was–despite sending out their best men to hunt them. down and having help from several other families, Asmodeus still managed to escape from right under their noses!
Not only that, but they already decided to give up on trying to save Roanne, knowing that it was impossible to track them down, but this man named Leon, who materialized out of nowhere, managed to single- handedly accomplish a feat that not even the entire family could do!
This was unbelievable!
None of them would ever believe this was possible if they did not see it with their own two eyes!
“Where’s Asmodeus then? He’s already at the Semi Almighty State, and even if Leon managed to track him down, how did you guys escape?” Angus asked dubiously. Although he was not certain of Leon’s powers, he could easily guess that Leon was no match for Asmodeus at all, considering how young he was!
It was a miracle that Leon managed to sneak Roanne out from right under Asmodeus‘ nose, considering how sly and careful that man was!
Angus could not seem to wrap his head around how Leon managed to pull this off!
Since Leon’s power level was a far cry from Asmodeus‘, Angus did not think Leon managed to rescue Roanne by killing Asmodeus–this was impossible!
He was more inclined to think that Leon outsmarted Asmodeus–there was no other explanation!
However, before he could even finish this thought, Roanne’s answer made his jaw drop.
