"Scott, you asked for this! Since you people want to die, I won't hold back! Behold, the power of a Platinum Martial Technique! Tiger's Roar!" The Poisonwielder narrowed his eyes coldly.
Instead of cowering before the Dragon Guards, he took a step forward and blasted two powerful waves of true energy from his palms.
His energy combined with the air around him and seemed to have transformed into an image of a fierce tiger before the Dragon Guards' eyes.
Like training methods, there were levels in Martial Technique as well and they were categorized into Sky, Earth, Platinum, and Gold.
The higher the level, the more powerful the Martial Technique would be.

"Damn it! That's a Platinum Martial Technique! Back away!" Scott gasped and immediately commanded the others to retreat, but it was too late.
"Baam!"
The Poisonwielder's Tiger's Roar tore through the attacks and swarmed them with the aftermath.
Scott, who was closest to the attack, spat a mouthful of blood and was instantly disabled like Fletcher and Randall.
Oliver, Abraham, and the others were in slightly better states but were still injured by the Poisonwielder's energy and all lay sprawled across the ground with a pale look on their faces.
Fletcher and Randall, who managed to get up, stared at the sight before them darkly.
Fletcher knew that he would not have fallen victim to the Reaper's Breath if only he accepted Leon's Essential Detox Pills. If he was not so ignorant, both Fletcher and Randall could have easily defeated the Poisonwielder alongside the other Dragon Guards. However, the situation took an unexpected turn due to the mistake made by the western region branch of the Dragon Corps and the Poisonwielder managed to defeat them all using the Reaper's Breath and his strength.
Fletcher's heart was instantly heavy with remorse and guilt, but it was too late.
"Accept your fate, kid!" The Poisonwielder burst into evil laughter before turning his attention back to Leon, determined to kill Leon right there and then.
"Mister Wolf, we will stop him! R- Run!" Fletcher and Randall white- knuckled through their injuries and lunged themselves at the Poisonwielder once again to allow Leon to run.
If Loen could get away, the Dragon Corps would have the means to counter the Reaper's Breath and there will be another chance for them to regroup for another attack, 1
However, if Leon died, it would only become more challenging for the Dragon Corps to hunt the Poisonwielder down.
Hence, Fletcher and Randall knew that they had to risk their lives to protect Leon from harm, or they would live the rest of their lives in remorse.

Oliver and Abraham snapped out of it and instantly realized how important Leon was.
Determined to protect Loen at all costs, they all followed Fletcher's and Randall's lead to lung themselves at the Poisonwielder despite their injuries in the hope of buying Leon time to escape.
"Run? Why should I run?" Leon asked calmly.
Though his power level was hardly considered high, he had a few tricks up his sleeves and had no fear of the Poisonwielder. However, since the other Dragon Guards were tangled up with the Poisonwielder, Leon was concerned that he might injure the others by accident if he attacked the Poisonwielder.
"What?!" The others gasped in disbelief.
The Dragon Corps lost their leverage and was bound to fail, so they could only try their best to stall the Poisonwielder so that Leon could escape, yet Leon stubbornly refused to run.
Leon's reaction took them by surprise and before any of them could react, what he saw next shook them to their cores.
"Fletcher, Scott, out of the way! I'll handle the Poisonwielder!" Leon said with determination.
"But!" Fletcher, Scott, and the others were stunned.
Though they did not know Leon's power level, they could only assume that Leon could not have exceeded the Emperor State at his age, which meant that he was far from comparable to the Poisonwielder in terms of strength
After witnessing how the Poisonwielder injured Leon earlier, none of them believed that Leon had the power to face the Poisonwielder.
Not only did Leon refuse to run, but he also confidently asked the others to back away and intended to fight the Poisonwielder on his own.
For a moment, none of them could understand what gave Leon such confidence.
"How arrogant! Get out of my way or die!" Enraged by Leon's words, the Poisonwielder laughed angrily and launched the Tiger's Roar at the other Dragon Guards once again.
"Baam! Baam! Baam!"
Following a series of deafening noises, the others were forced to back away under the power of the Platinum Martial Technique.
Oliver and a few others who were less powerful could not steady themselves until they were over five steps away.
The Poisonwielder ignored the others and leaped into the air, before darting toward Leon to finish him off as soon as possible.
"Die!" He roared viciously as he launched an attack at Leon.
"Bring it on!" Loen scoffed.
With the others out of the way, Leon no longer had the concern of any friendly fire and immediately took the Cuff of Doom out.
He activated the Cuff of Doom, before sending a powerful blow toward the Poisonwielder.

"Die, kid!’ The Poisonwielder narrowed his eyes viciously when he saw that Leon intended on facing him directly.
He could tell that Leon was in the Emperor State at best during the earlier exchange and did not see Leon as a threat at all.
'How dare a man as weak as he is face up to me directly? He must have a death wish!' He thought as he strengthened the energy around his fist to strike Leon in full force.
"It's over! Mister Wolf’s going to die!'
Fletcher, Scott, and the others instantly paled in despair.
If none of them could defeat the Poisonwielder, there was no way that Leon could accomplish such an impossible mission and the only possible outcome would be Leon's inevitable demise.
Devastation filled their heart and just as they were about to give up, what happened next shook them to their cores.
"Baam!"
The power of the Cuff of Doom tore through the Poisonwielder's attack and darted toward his arm and chest fiercely.
"Snap!"
The Poisonwielder grunted in pain and before he could register what happened, the bones in his arms shattered.
The strike from the Cuff of Doom hit him on the chest as well and he was instantly sent flying to the distance.
As soon as he landed on the ground, a sharp pain pierced through his chest, and he could not help but spit a mouthful of blood as he lay sprawled across the floor.
"Mister Wolf defeated the Poisonwielder! How is this possible?!"
Fletcher, Scott, and the others were stunned as they all thought that Leon would be destined to die.
To their bewilderment, Leon managed to fend off the Poisonwielder's powerful strike and even broke his arm in return.
It was so surreal that none of them could understand what was happening.
"How could this happen?" The Poisonwielder covered his chest and glared at Leon in disbelief, struggling to register the fact that despite being in the Almighty State, he was defeated by a young man.
He could not figure out how Leon accomplished such a miracle, nor could he bring himself to accept his defeat.
When he spotted the golden cuff in Loen's hand, he instantly realized that Leon might have managed to defeat him because he possessed an Almighty Weapon.
As he predicted, the Cuff of Doom was a second-grade Almighty Weapon and it held the power equivalent to a martial artist in the Intermediate Almighty State.
Since the Poisonwielder was in the Initial Almighty State, he would not have suffered such severe injuries if he handled the attack with care, but he underestimated Leon and let his guard down, which caused him to expose himself completely to the power of the Cuff of Doom.

"No wonder!"

Realization dawned on Fletcher, Scott, and the others as they noticed that the golden cuff Leon was holding must be a grade-two Almighty Weapon at the very least.
Though Leon managed to defeat the Poisonwielder mainly because of the weapon, Almighty Weapons were extremely hard to come by and the fact that Loen managed to obtain a grade-two Almighty Weapon was a showcase of his power.
The Dragon Corps was set for failure, but Leon managed to apply great damage to the Poisonwielder on his own and turned the tables, putting the Dragon Guards at an advantage.
The devastation they felt earlier was instantly replaced by pleasant surprise.
"Fletcher, Scott, the Poisonwielder has been injured! Capture him while you can!" Leon alerted the others.
After making an offering for the past month, he only managed to accumulate a strike in the Intermediate Almighty State and he already used it up.
Naturally, Leon had another weapon apart from the Cuff of Doom, and that was the Potential Energy Force he received from Master Haslewood.
Since the Poisonwielder was poisoned by the Deadly Veratrum poison and was severely injured by Leon, he was left defenseless and Leon saw no reason in wasting the Potential Energy Force on him.
"Yes!" Scott and the others snapped out of it and surrounded the Poisonwielder, preparing to pounce.
"Earthly Barrier!" The Poisonwielder immediately summoned yet another wall from the ground to block their attacks.
"Baam!"
Following a deafening wave of noises, Scott and the others' attacks shattered the wall, sending dirt and sand in the air.
Taking this as his cue to leave, the Poisonwielder leaped into the air and ran away from the Dragon Guards without hesitation.
The bones in his arm were completely shattered by Leon and considering the severe injury he suffered, he no longer had the capability to fight the Dragon Guards.
On top of that, he was poisoned by the Deadly Veratrum poison. Though he managed to suppress its effect by taking the antidotes he carried with him, the poison started to spread toward his organs after the earlier fight. If he failed to counter the poison in time, he would surely perish.
He dared not to dream of getting rid of Leon and wanted to get away as soon as possible to focus on recovering from his injuries.
The Poisonwielder was confident that he possessed the skill to counter the Deadly Veratrum poison and knew that he could always hunt Leon down afterward.
"He is trying to run! Stop him!” Scott sensed his intention and immediately charged through the dust and dirt in the air to go after the Poisonwielder.
"Just leave me alone! Scram!" The Poisonwielder scoffed and tossed a handful of white powder toward the Dragon Guards.
As an expert in poison, he possessed far more than just the Reaper's Breath.
The white powder was a less powerful poison compared to the Reaper's Breath, but was just as effective.

"Damn it! Poison! Watch out!" Scott and the others were stunned when they saw the wave of white powder flowing toward them.
Though they took the Essential Detox Pills, the pills were made specifically to counter the effect of the Reaper's Breath and they might not work on other poison.
Not daring to take the poison lightly, they backed away to dodge the powder.
Once Scott and the others backed away, the Poisonwielder took the opportunity to run and arrived by the wall surrounding the inner courtyard.
As soon as he reached the other side of the wall, he would be safe from the Dragon Guards.
"Damn it!" Scott and Fletcher gritted out darkly.
Not only was the Poisonwielder a poison expert, but he was also a formidable martial artist who rivaled them in terms of speed and explosive power.
Since Poisonwielder ran ahead of them, it was impossible for them to watch up to him. At that moment, they were all rendered helpless.
"Running so soon? I won't let you get away!’ Leon sneered.
He flung his arm and sent a few daggers flying toward the Poisonwielder.
"How dare you try the same trick on me again?! Do you think I'm going to fall for it again?" The Poisonwielder scoffed and struck the daggers down.
Leon caused him enough trouble but poisoned him with the Deadly Veratrum poison and he refused to fall for the same trick again.
What he did not know was that Leon put the Soul Searcher instead of the Deadly Veratrum poison on the daggers this time and the moment the daggers came into contact with the Poisonwielder, the Soul Searcher was instantly attached to him.
The Poisonwielder flipped past a wall and darted into the distance.
"Let's call this a day, kid! I will remember how you injured me today! Just wait and I will repay the 'favor' ten times more the next time I see you! You can count on that!” The Poisonwielder said viciously.
"Sure! I'll be waiting!" Loen remained calm as the Poisonwielder disappeared in sight.
Since he already planted the Soul Searcher on the Poisonwielder, he would be able to spot the Poisonwielder wherever he was, so he did not have any fear of the threat.
"Damn it! We were so close!"

Scott, Fletcher, and the others gathered around Leon gloomily.
Leon managed to injure the Poisonwielder and that was the perfect chance for them to eliminate the Poisonwielder, but he managed to escape relying on his poison and power, so they failed to accomplish their mission and were all disappointed.

"I'm so sorry, Mister Wolf. This is our fault for letting the Poisonwielder escape! I am so ashamed," Fletcher sighed guiltily.
The others from the western region had guilt written all over their faces as well.
They all knew that they would have been immune to the Reaper's Breath if they accepted the Essential Detox Pills Leon offered to them.
If the Dragon Guards from both the western and southern regions joined forces, it would have been easy for them to eliminate the Poisonwielder before he had the chance of escaping.
However, due to their mistake, they allowed the Poisonwielder to escape and came close to facing a brutal massacre.
Leon managed to injure the Poisonwielder at the very last moment and succeeded in scaring the Poisonwielder off, and if he did not do so, all the Dragon Guards sent on the mission of eliminating the Poisonwielder would have been killed.
Instantly, their hearts were heavy with shame and guilt.
"It's alright, Fletcher! The Poisonwielder cant be far. You shouldn't feel guilty! Since your subordinates are all poisoned, you should all take the Essential Detox Pills now and see if you can expel the poison!" Leon smiled, before handing dozens of Essential Detox Pills to Fletcher.
Apart from them, the elders from the Tiddertons were poisoned as well, so Leon went ahead and handed them a few pills as well.
Fletcher and Randall distributed the Essential Detox Pills to the others and they all swallowed one pill each.
Though the Essential Detox Pills could suppress the Reaper's Breath, it was not the precise antidote for it.
Since Fletcher and the Dragon Guards from the western region were already poisoned and were left untreated for a while, the poison spread within them and even if they took the Essential Detox Pills at this point, they would be required to rest for a while before they could expel the poison from their bodies.
Leon, Scott, and the others, on the other hand, took the Essential Detox Pills in time and managed to expel the poison with their true energy swiftly. • • •
After treating everyone, Scott stepped toward Leon. "Mister Wolf, the Poisonwielder has escaped. What should we do now?" He asked.
Scott, Chad, and Jerry were originally upset with Alfred's decision in making Leon their leader, but after witnessing what Leon was capable of, the three of them had nothing but respect for him.
"The Poisonwielder has been severely injured, so he can't be far! We will go after him now and get rid of him once and for all!' Leon commanded.
"What?!" Fletcher, Scott, and the others froze in shock.
The mission failed the moment the Poisonwielder escaped, and they all gave up on eliminating the Poisonwielder.
To their bewilderment, Leon did not give up.
"Mister Wolf, my team needs some rest after being poisoned, so we won't be capable of assisting you with tracking and ambushing the Poisonwielder, " Fletcher said hesitantly.

"It's fine! Fletcher, you and your team should stay here and rest! I will hunt the Poisonwielder with Scott and the others!" Leon smiled.

On top of that, Leon succeeded in planting the Soul Searcher on the Poisonwielder and since he could track the Poisonwielder with ease, he only needed a few Dragon Guards' assistance to slay the Poisonwielder.
However, since the existence of the Soul Searcher was better off being kept as a secret, Leon did not see the point in explaining himself to Fletcher.
"What? But, that can't work!" Fletcher and the others were stunned.
"Mister Wolf, forgive me for being blunt, but the Poisonwielder is a cunning man and even if he is injured at the moment, he is still a formidable opponent! Without our help, the six of you won't be able to restrain him,’ Fletcher said worriedly.
Not only was the Poisonwielder a poison expert, but he was also a formidable Almighty martial artist.
It seemed unlikely for Leon and the others to track the Poisonwielder down, and even if they succeeded in doing so, they would not be able to defeat him and might end up being killed.
"Yeah! Mister Wolf, Fletcher is right! The Poisonwielder cannot be taken lightly, so we need to act with caution!"

They did not fear the Poisonwielder, but knew that he possessed far more than just the Reaper's Breath and were all concerned.
Since the Dragon Guards came close to getting wiped out, none of them dared to take any risk without guarantee, or they would not be able to face the consequence should anything bad happen to Leon.
"Mister Wolf, how about this? I will call Mister Orpwood, the person in charge of the western region Dragon Corps, and get him to send over two Platinum Dragon Guards in the Intermediate Almighty State here to back you up! That way, we won't be taking any risk!" Fletcher suggested.
The western region Dragon Corps did not dispatch any Platinum Dragon Guards in the Intermediate Almighty State mainly because the Poisonwielder was far too good at hiding his track and they did not wish to waste unnecessary resources on him, but also because they feared the power of the Reaper's Breath.
Since they did not have the antidote for the Reaper's Breath, they did not want to risk the lives of their Platinum Dragon Guards in the Intermediate Almighty State by sending them on the mission.
However, the circumstances changed when Leon joined them with a solution to counter the Reaper's Breath.
All they needed to do was send two powerful Platinum Dragon Guards to assist Leon and they would be able to eliminate the Poisonwielder with ease, and that would be less challenging compared to having Leon and his five subordinates go after the Poisonwielder on their own.

"No! We can't afford to delay this any further and I don't time to wait for reinforcement!" Leon shook his head and rejected Fletcher's suggestion without hesitation.
The effect of the Soul Searcher could only last for three hours at most and since they were currently in a remote area of the western region, it would be at least an hour's drive from the western region Dragon Corps to the Tiddertons Mansion and it would be too late by the time reinforcement arrived.
"But," Fletcher wanted to try and convince Leon to wait but was interrupted by Leon right away.
"That's the end of the discussion! Don't worry, Fletcher. Just leave this to us from the southern region! I have a plan!" Leon said with determination.
Without further delay, he turned to Scott and the others. "Scott, let's go. We are going to track the Poisonwielder down!’
"Oh, alright!’
Seeing how determined Leon was, Scott and the others agreed and went into the car with Leon; though they were all still slightly concerned, they knew that Leon was not a reckless man.
"All we can do is pray that Mister Wolf succeeds in killing the Poisonwielder and that nothing goes wrong," Fletcher sighed with resignation as he watched Leon and the others disappeared into the distance.
The others from the western region Dragon Corps were worried as well as they just witnessed the extent of the Poisonwielder* s power and they could not help but feel concerned that Leon and his team might not be capable to handle the Poisonwielder.
"Fletcher, the Poisonwielder is sly and hides his track well. Mister Wolf might not be able to track him down so easily! I think you should call Mister Orpwood right now and ask him to send a backup now! Maybe Mister Wolf will come to need it!" Randall reminded.
"Yeah, you are right!’ Fletcher snapped out of it and immediately made a call to Mister Orpwood to explain the current situation. • • •
Meanwhile, Leon left with his team and followed the track of the Soul Searcher to a mountain a few miles away by car.
At the bottom of the mountain stood an abandoned temple.
Though the temple looked torn on the outside, the interior was intact and spacious, making it a perfect hideout.
Leon and the others arrived at the mountain and to avoid alerting the Poisonwielder, Leon ordered Oliver to park the car somewhere further, before proceeding to walk toward the temple.
"Mister Wolf, aren't you going after the Poisonwielder? Why are you taking us here?" Scott lowered his voice.
"Yeah."
"Is the Poisonwielder here?'

Oliver, Abraham, and the others were confused as well.
From their perspective, Leon should be contacting the police and track the Poisonwielder down by studying footage from surveillance cameras in the area, before determining the Poisonwielder’s location through evidence.
However, Leon did not make any effort in contacting the police, nor did he attempt to search for any evidence and brought them all to the temple straightaway, which left them all wondering what was happening.

"If I'm not mistaken, this is where the Poisonwielder is hiding!' Loen smiled.
"What?!"
"Seriously?"
"Mister Wolf, how do you know that he is hiding here?’
Scott, Oliver, and the others were stunned and exchanged confused looks.
None of them could understand how Loen managed to pin the location of the Poisonwielder down without doing anything.
'Can he be a prophet or something? But that's just not possible!' They thought to themselves.
"You will find out soon enough!" Leon said mysteriously as he did not wish to inform others about the Soul Searcher.
"A- Alright, then."
Scott, Oliver, and the others agreed along hesitantly.
Linder Leon's lead, they soon arrived outside the temple.
"Scott, I'm going inside to scout the area first! You five will stand guard outside to prevent him from running!" Loen said.
Since the Poisonwielder was poisoned by Deadly Veratrum poison, he should have been rendered completely defenseless. However, he was a poison expert and there was a possibility that he already countered the Deadly Veratrum poison somehow.
If the poison was already expelled, barging in with a team of six would only alert the Poisonwielder and allow him the chance of running again.
Hence, Leon decided that it was best for him to observe the Poisonwielder on his own before taking action.
"What?! No way!”
Scott and the others gasped in shock.
"Mister Wolf, the Poisonwielder is far more powerful than you are! It's too dangerous for you to go inside alone!" Scott said worriedly.
"Yeah, Scott is right!"
"Mister Wolf, we can't just let you risk your life like that!’

Oliver and Abraham agreed along.
"It's fine! I have powerful weapons and the Poisonwielder won't be able to hurt me!" Leon brushed them off.
Though he ran out of strikes in his Cuff of Doom, he still had one Potential Energy Force from Master Haslewood and daggers containing the Deadly Veratrum poison.
The Poisonwielder would not be able to hurt Leon whether or not he succeeded in countering the Deadly Veratrum poison; in the worst-case scenario, Leon could slay the Poisonwielder with the Potential Energy Force.
However, the range of the Potential Energy Force was too vast and the reason he insisted that the others waited outside was to prevent the Poisonwielder from running, but also to prevent injuring his comrades by accident should he need to use the Potential Energy Force.
"Oh!" Scott and the others paused as they recalled Leon's weapons.
They all witnessed how Leon managed to injure the Poisonwielder with an Almighty Weapon despite being inferior in terms of power level.
It seemed unlikely for the Poisonwielder to hurt Leon as long as Loen possessed the weapon.
They were not aware that Leon exhausted the power of the Cuff of Doom, but he had even more powerful weapons in hand and their concern for his safety was unnecessary.
"Alright, it's settled! This is an order!’ Leon commanded.
"Um, yes, sir! Be careful, Mister Wolf."
Scott and the others obeyed after reminding Leon to remain safe.
Leon then proceeded to sneak into the temple on his own.

In a room inside the temple, the Poisonwielder sat on the floor and attempted to expel the poison from his body.
He found this place a few days ago and decided to hide there because it was remoted and rarely visited by people. Hence, it seemed impossible for members of the Dragon Corps to find him.
Indeed, despite the effort of the Dragon Guards from the western region in finding him for the past two days, they were not able to track him down, so he was certain that he was safe and had no concern that the Dragon Guards would come after him.
Sometime later, he withdrew his energy and opened his eyes with a dark expression.
"Damn it! What kind of poison is this?! Why can’t I get rid of it?!" Furious, the Poisonwielder shoved at the table beside it, causing it to break into pieces.
Since he escaped from the Tiddertons Mansion, he produced a few other types of antidotes to try and expel the poison from his body.
However, the Veratrum poison was a slow-acting poison that could not be countered, and the Deadly Veratrum poison was made from the Veratrum poison by adding motherwort to amplify its power, making it even harder to be countered.
No matter what he tried, the Poisonwielder simply could not get rid of the poison and it continued to spread throughout his body.
At that moment, the poison already reached his lungs and was dangerously close to his heart. If he failed to expel the poison as soon as possible, he would perish once the poison spread into his heart.
"I guess I have no choice but to use the motherwort!' The Poisonwielder took a deep breath to suppress his anger and took out the motherwort that it robbed from the Tiddertons.
As an expert in poison, he could tell that the poison he was drugged with contained motherwort, which was the reason why it was so difficult to counter it.
Motherwort could either maximize a poison’s effect or treat a patient who was poisoned.
By taking the motherwort, he would be able to counter the poison inside his body.
Since the Poisonwielder studied a dark method, he originally planned on using the motherwort to get to the Intermediate Almighty State, before using what was left of the motherwort to strengthen the effect of his Reaper's Breath.
However, he was left to use the motherwort to save his life and all his effort were to waste.
"Wolf, just wait! Once I get rid of the poison, I'm going to skin you alive!" The Poisonwielder roared resentfully
Not only did Leon succeed in poisoning him, but he also broke one of the Poisonwielder's arms and severely injured him.
Leon was the reason why he came close to dying in the Tiddertons Mansion and end up wasting the motherwort.
He simply could not appease his anger unless he could tear Leon into shreds.
