The Four Apostles failed to defeat him even with the Four Beasts Formation earlier; with only three Apostles left and their leader dead, Leon knew that he had nothing to fear from them.
He took a big step forward and prepared to counter their attacks one by one to end this fight as soon as possible.

If the Apostles acted recklessly and attacked without a plan, Leon might just target each one of them consecutively.
"Also, that defensive tool has been used multiple times and should be useless by now. Just work together and stall him. Once I get rid of Arthur Thompson, I'll kill him and avenge the Grand Apostle!" The Southern Boss commanded.

"Yes, sir!" The Second Apostle immediately regained his composure. Instead of facing Leon head-on, he darted away from Leon's attack swiftly and regrouped with the Third and Fourth Apostles.
"Guys, let's focus on taking Leon down! Let's see how many times that defensive tool can protect him! Take this!" The Second Apostle launched the Thundering Strike at Leon.
"Die!" The Third and Fourth Apostles joined the Second Apostle, their actual energy merging to form an even more powerful attack.
"Damn it!" Leon jolted in shock.
Though the Mirror of Sovereign was powerful and could be used multiple times unlike what the Southern Boss predicted, the remaining Apostles were far too powerful and their combined attack exceeded the strength of the Intermediate Almighty State, which meant that it could tear through the defense of the Mirror of Sovereign.
Not daring to take the blow directly, Leon executed the Phantom Steps to dodge the attack.

The three Apostles were all excited to see Leon running.

"Take this!" Their spirits were all uplifted and they immediately merged their true energy to form a bigger attack, before sending it toward Leon.
Leon knew that the Mirror of Sovereign could not fend off the combined attack and darted away, before charging toward the three Apostles; if he managed to get closer, he could stop the attack.
However, the three Apostles were all individuals with significant experience in battle, so they instantly caught Leon's intention.
According to the Southern Boss's order, they were only meant to stall Leon and none of them intended to face him directly.
They darted in different directions, before finding their way back to one another again to launch yet another combined attack at Leon.
Whenever Leon would take an advance position, they would back away and if he retreated, they would charge toward him.
Instantly, Leon found himself struggling to get anywhere close to the three Apostles.
"Great! Keep stalling him. I'll go over there to help once I get rid of old Thompson here! Arthur Thompson, die already!" The Southern Boss laughed in relief when he saw how Leon was struggling.
He then kicked Arthur, and Arthur's expression darkened." Damn it!"
He was fighting both the Southern Boss and Devon at the same time and under their relentless attacks, he was starting to cave and would soon be defeated.
"Elder Thompson, I'm coming!" Sensing that Arthur was in danger, Leon ignored the three Apostles and leaped toward Arthur.
"Don't even try to run! You ought to focus on the three of us instead!"
The three Apostles refused to let him escape and sent yet another combined attack at Leon to stop him.
"The three of you asked for this! Don't blame me for this!" Leon gritted out. He was enraged by their persistent interference and knew that he no longer had the time to waste with the Apostles.
Determined, he stopped evading the attacks and stood still, before launching his most powerful method, Hurricane Break, and sending a powerful attack at the Apostles.
Out of frustration, he decided to endure with the Mirror of Sovereign and risk his life to take the remaining Apostles down.

"Watch out, Mister Wolf!" Yuri and Augus were both shocked that Leon stopped running around.
They all witnessed how Leon struggled under the combined attacks of the three Apostles, and like the Southern Boss, they assumed that Leon ran out of time to use his defensive tool.
Thankfully, Leon's Phantom Steps allowed him to evade the three Apostles, yet Leon gave up his advantage in speed and attempted to take the combined attack directly to save Arthur.
Both shocked and worried, Iris, Cynthia, and the others watched as the Apostles' attacks merged into a gigantic blade of energy, before piercing through the air toward Leon.
They almost fainted at the sight.
"Arrogant brat! He must’ve decided to give up because he ran out of options!"
Contrary to how Yuri and the others felt, the Southern Boss and Devon stared at Leon with a sneer as though Leon was already dead.
They all knew that the three Apostles were extremely powerful and even with the defensive tool, Leon could not fend off the combined attack from the three Apostles;
assuming that Leon ran out of time to use the defensive tool, they all thought that Leon's fate was decided.
However, what happened next stunned them all.
Following a gigantic noise, the Apostles' attack landed on Leon and since the Mirror of Sovereign failed to shield the attack, Leon was instantly sent flying and bled when he crashed.
Still, he did not take the attack for no reason, as the Hurricane Break he launched at the same time of being injured was darting toward the three Apostles.
"Great! Leon's down! Kill him now!" The Apostles were overjoyed.
Leon's Phantom Steps were far too swift and none of them expected to defeat Leon. However, Leon foolishly stood still to take the attack, which was a pleasant surprise for them.
Taking this as a chance to kill Leon, they all prepared to charge forward when a powerful presence descended and charged toward them, instantly swallowing them in whole.

"Wh- What's this?!" The three Apostles gasped in fear.
They finally realized that Leon took their attack to launch an even more powerful counter-attack.
Caught by surprise, they snapped out of it after a moment of daze and backed away from the attack.

On top of that, Leon risked his own life to launch the attack while the three Apostles were on the momentum of their attacks, so it was too late for them to summon any strength for a counter-attack.

Seeing how Leon killed the Four Apostles, the Southern Boss desperately wished he could tear Leon into pieces, but he knew that this was not a time for him to lose his composure.
At the moment, he needed to kill Arthur before Leon could come to his rescue, or he and Devon would lose their chances once Leon join forces with Arthur.

At the very last moment, he gritted his teeth and launched the Stormy Punch, sending a wave of energy toward the Southern Boss at the speed of lightning.

Though Arthur was slightly more powerful than the Southern Boss, he failed to wield his full strength under the circumstances and found himself overpowered.
He stumbled backward and felt his insides turning at the impact; soon, blood began to stream down the corner of his mouth.
"Die!" Taking the opportunity, Devon launched the Mirage Strike at Arthur.
"It's over!" Arhtur's heart sank.
He was just injured by the Southern Boss and could barely balance himself, so he could not evade Devon's attack and could only watch as Devon approached with formidable strength, knowing that he would die if Devon's attack landed on its target.
Just as Arthur fell into despair, the tables were turned.
"Old Hilton, you're the one who should die!" Leon scoffed and appeared before Arthur to fend off Devon's attack with the Phantom Steps.
Without hesitation, he then flung his fist toward Devon to deliver a powerful blow.

Following a deafening sound, Leon's attack clashed with Devon's and was torn by Devon's overpowering true energy.
Leon did not panic and simply titled his body to take the aftermath with the Mirror of Sovereign, all the while launching a Double Attack with his true energy in the Intermediate Overlord State to attack Devon.
"How swift!" Shocked, Devon gasped.
He never expected Leon to be so fast and manage to rescue Arthur in time.
Caught off guard, he was instantly sent flying by Leon's double attack.
A sharp pain pierced through his chest upon landing and he realized that he was injured. Thankfully, Leon was injured by the Four Apostles twice and Leon's power level was hardly high enough, the Double Attack did not cause severe injuries; if it were any way else, Devon would have died right on the spot.
Seeing as Devon was stopped by Leon right before he could kill Arthur, the Southern Boss was furious. "Damn it! Leon, how dare you get in my way over and over again?! I'm going to tear you into pieces!"
On top of that, Leon just killed the Four Apostles and the
Southern Boss could no longer suppress his anger.
Without hesitation, he launched a powerful attack at Leon, prepared to shatter Leon into pieces.
"Damn it!" Leon gasped.
Though he managed to kill the Four Apostles, a part of his victory was due to luck; his overall strength was slightly higher than that of the Four Apostles, and the Phantom Steps gave him a speed advantage, giving Leon the chance to retrain the Four Apostles. Apart from that, the Mirror of Sovereign could fend off any attack at the Intermediate Almighty State or below, so his defense was practically impenetrable.
With all the above aspects considered, Leon managed to defeat all Four Apostles, but the Southern Boss was a different case.
The Southern Boss reached the Advanced Almighty State, which meant that the Mirror of Sovereign meant nothing before the Southern Boss. Also, the Southern Boss's speed surpassed that of the Four Apostles and rivaled the Phantom Steps, so Leon had no advantage over the Southern Boss.

He knew that Leon had a defensive tool that seemed to be usable for unlimited times, which caught him by surprise.
However, nothing mattered before absolute power; As powerful as the defensive tool might be, it could not protect the head.
"Don't you dare!" Arthur snapped out of it and charged forward to stand before Leon to stop the Southern Boss.
He raised his arm and countered the Southern Boss's attack. Following a deafening sound, their attacks clashed.
The Southern Boss was slightly weaker and stumbled backward.
Enraged that Arthur stopped him from killing Leon, the Southern Boss gritted out, "damn it!"
"Mister Wolf, let me deal with the Southern Boss. Deal with old Hilton for me!" Arthur said with determination and leaped toward the Southern Boss.
"Sure!" Leon white-knuckled through the pain in his chest, before swallowing two Circulation Pills, and Spirit Nurturing Pills to recover his lost spiritual energy.
"It's your time to die! Earthly Plunder!" Leon leaped into action without hesitation, his energy forming into an invisible blade that emerged from his finger. ’

"It's over!" Devon gasped when he sensed Leon approaching.
Leon just killed the Four Apostles on his own, and based on Leon's showcase of power earlier, Devon already knew that he could not win against Leon.
Not daring to take Leon's attack directly, Devon darted away, but since Leon wielded the Phantom Steps, he fell short in terms of speed.
Though he managed to evade a few attacks, he soon found himself backing away with no chance of fighting back. If this continued, Devon would not last long and might suffer the same fate as the Four Apostles.
Naturally, the Southern Boss was struggling as well. Without Devon’s help, the Southern Boss could hardly stand a chance of defeating Arthur.

However, Leon was far too resourceful and his ability surpassed anyone's imagination; on top of that, Leon even managed to kill all of the Four Apostles.
Following the Four Apostles' death, Leon joined forces with Arthur and the circumstances completely changed.
If Leon and Arthur managed to defeat the Southern Boss and Devon together, the Spears and the Hiltons would surely face defeat.
Devon instantly fell into despair, and the Southern Boss narrowed his eyes with determination, before saying viciously, "Don't worry, Elder Hilton! I've done all preparations to take the Thompsons down! Do they want to rely on some brat to turn the tables? Dream on!"

"Enough with your arrogance! If you want to die, I'll grant your wishes and give you a taste of true despair!" The
Southern Boss scoffed and sent Arthur flying, before leaping out of the battlefield.
"Demon Lord, come forward! I'll agree to all the terms you named!" The Southern Boss shouted.
As his words fell, a figure appeared swiftly on top of the yard and descended steadily, before landing next to the Southern Boss.

Leon and Arthur soon saw the face of the person who appeared out of nowhere.
"That's the Demon Lord!"
The other party was a middle-aged man of about fifty years old, with half of his face covered by a demon mask, concealing his appearance. Several strands of strangely located grey hair hang down from his forehead; his aura was chilling and sharp, giving off a faint, murderous vibe, evoking an extremely dangerous and sinister feeling.
At first glance, it was evident that he is no ordinary person.
Everyone was shocked once they recognized that they were staring at the Demon Lord, the criminal ranking third place on the criminal list.
Though the Demon Lord hid in the central region and none of them ever saw him in person, the Dragon Corps published photos and details about the Demon Lord, displaying the demon mask he wore and the strands of grey hair as the Demon Lord's unique features.
Through those features, the others instantly recognized who he was.
"Leon, Old Thompson, you didn't expect me to have other tricks up my sleeve, did you? With the Demon Lord here, the two of you won't be able to do anything!" The Southern Boss sneered and watched Leon and Arthur mockingly.
He declared war in the hope of eliminating Leon along with the Thompsons, but if he caused a large-scale casualty, the Dragon Corps would not stand idly by, and the Southern Boss knew that he would suffer unimaginable punishment.
Hence, he needed a scapegoat and that was when he started considering the eight criminals.
As the underground ruler of the southern region, it was not challenging for the Southern Boss to get in contact with the remaining three criminals on the criminal list. After much effort, the Southern Boss tracked down the Demon Lord and sought his help to take the blame.
The Demon Lord was an extremely evil criminal who killed countless people, making him the perfect candidate to take the blame for the Southern Boss after he killed the Thompsons.
Considering how powerful the Demon Lord was, even the Dragon Corps would not be able to do much about him, so the Demon Lord had nothing to lose.
Naturally, the Demon Lord did not want to take the blame for anything and only agreed to do so after the Southern Boss paid him.
At first, the Southern Boss considered hiring the Demon Lord to fight Leon and the Thompsons, but this would have cost him ten times the price he paid for the Demon Lord to simply take the blame afterward.
Before this, the Southern Boss underestimated Leon and thought that the Thompsons and Leon would easily perish once he joined forces with the Hiltons. However, he was proven wrong.
Leon killed the Four Apostles and the circumstances changed, placing the Spears and the Hiltons at a disadvantage. To win and eliminate the enemy, the Southern Boss could only ask for the Demon Lord’s help at all costs.
