“Apologize!” Leon said as he took a step back.
Relieved, Jacob crawled up and kneeled before Leon. “Leon, I was wrong for insulting you. I apologize,” Jacob said with a more sincere tone as he suppressed his anger.
“Also, apologize to Ariel!” Leon commanded.
“I’m sorry, Miss Summers,” Jacob muttered.
Both Ashwin and Mister Mabre gaped at the sight before their eyes.
As the son of the Northern King and an heir of the Lowes, Jacob was on the very top of the entire Springfield community, yet he was on his knees pleading for forgiveness before Leon.
Stunned, they finally realized why Leon was referred to as the best of his generation.
“You should’ve done this right from the beginning, and you just won’t do so until you are beaten!” Leon shot Jacob a look of contempt. He thought that Jacob would have stronger will than this and was disappointed.
“Yes, Leon, can I go now?” Jacob smiled sheepishly, determined to tear Leon into shreds the next time he
saw Leon.
“Hang on! There’s something else that I need to ask you, Jacob! Are the Lowes pulling the strings behind. that venture capital company that’s attacking Young Group?” Leon stared at him pointedly.
He was already told by Cynthia that Young Group was in a crisis because there was an unknown venture capital company attacking Young Group; this company was fully prepared and had the support from other families as well, causing a tremendous financial loss to Young Group.
“Wh- What are you talking about? I don’t understand!” Jacob paled.
“Oh? Is that so?” Leon lifted an eyebrow.
Though Jacob did not admit it, it was not difficult to conclude that even if the venture capital company was not owned by the Lowes, the Lowes were involved, judging from the look on Jacob’s face.
However, the Youngs saw Leon as an enemy and since Iris did not sought his help, there was nothing much
Leon could do.
“Leon, if that’s all, I’ll go now,” Jacob muttered nervously.
“Wait up! You haven’t dealt with this traitor! I’ve always hated traitors. Deal with him!” Leon pointed at
Ashwin sternly.
“Don’t,” Terrified, Ashwin fell to his knees.
“Leon, I didn’t betray Miss Young. I didn’t mean to. Please have mercy and spare me,” Ashwin pleaded pathetically, without a trace of his smugness from earlier.
“Spare you? Do you really think that’s possible?” Leon sneered.
Ashwin always bullied him back when he worked for Elegante, but Leon was willing to let that go.

However, he could not forgive Ashwin for betraying Iris over his own agenda.
“Warren, break his legs!” Jacob ordered mercilessly.
Though Ashwin started working for him, he was merely a subordinate and Jacob would never hesitate to
sacrifice Ashwin if that meant he would be saved.
“Mister Lowe,” Ashwin gasped at Jacob.
He was devoted to Jacob and did not expect Jacob to sell him out without hesitation.
Devastated, Ashwin regretted his action, but it was all too late.
“Snap! Snap!”
Warren stomped on both Ashwin’s knees under Jacob’s command.
“Ah!!!” Ashwin wailed as excruciating pain shot up his legs and he came close to fainting.
Mister Mabre, who witnessed the suffering of Ashwin, shivered and felt his blood running cold.
“Mi- Mister Wolf, I didn’t mean to offend you. Please forgive me,” Mister Mabre kneeled and pleaded out of fear that Leon might punish him next.
Fortunately, Mister Mabre was always Jacob’s subordinate and did not betray anyone, so Leon did not intend on punishing him, which filled Mister Mabre’s heart with relief.
“Alright, Jacob. You can go now! Also, take your hound out of here. I don’t want to look at him!” Leon said and waved his hand in disgust.
“Take him!” Relieved, Jacob ordered Dexter and Warren to carry Ashwin before retreating out of the room.
Once they were gone, Ariel asked, “Leon, what should we do now? Should we tell Iris that Ashwin is working with the Lowes?”
“There’s no need. I don’t know what the Lowes are planning at the moment and we have no proof. Besides, Iris doesn’t trust me and even if I tell her about this, she might not believe me. Even if she does, the Youngs won’t!” Leon shook his head bitterly.
He was not a fool. Ever since Albert fell sick, Iris did not reach out to Leon at all, which meant that she was still having a hard time believing him, or the Youngs were stopping her from doing so.
Since Iris and the Youngs distrusted him, he saw no point in selling himself cheap by insisting on getting involved.
“Why are you doing this, Leon? I can tell that you still like Iris. If that’s the case, why don’t you go to her and get back together with her?” Ariel sighed.
She felt conflicted as she wanted her best friend to be with the man she loved; on the other hand, Ariel was also in love with Leon and did not want Leon to be with another woman, so she was torn between the two thoughts..
“I want to get back together with her, but you can’t force these kinds of things. Both her and the Youngs are
actively trying to cut me out of their lives, so why should I bother them? I might as well let the best!” Leon said casually.

Ariel did not want to give up, but was interrupted by Leon before she could say anything.
“That’s enough! The only thing I can do for her right now is to buy the Elegante Group for her. Ariel, please don’t tell her about this, or she might think that I’m after the Youngs or something!” Leon smiled bitterly.
He was certain that if the Youngs found out about him purchasing Elegante Group, they would suspect his motive. Though he only did so to help Iris, he felt pathetic that he had to stay in the dark.
However, his feelings for Iris were so deep that he could not stand idly by while she suffered, so he could only attempt to help without her knowing so that he would not come to regret it in the future.
“Okay,” Ariel nodded, “I won’t tell Iris.‘
“Also, warn Iris that the venture capital company that’s targeting Young Group might be run by the Lowes. Tell her to be careful not to fall for the Northern King’s trap!” Leon deadpanned
He knew that the Youngs would never believe him and could only get Ariel to warn them in his place. In the end, it was up to the Youngs to choose if they wanted to believe it.
Afterward, Leon and Ariel left and headed to their respective homes.
On the way back, Leon wondered about the Lowes‘ intention for targeting the Youngs and felt anxious
somehow.
He saved Iris’s life and Albert’s life in the past, so he did not owe them anything; on the contrary, the Youngs falsely accused him and chased him out, so they owed him an apology to say the least. Meanwhile, in a luxurious mansion on the outskirts.
Harold and Daisy were sitting in the living room, discussing the tactics to use for bringing the Youngs down.
“Harold, how’s the progress in acquiring Elegante Group?” Daisy asked.
“Don’t worry. I put Jaco in charge of that and he should be able to buy it today!” Harold smiled confidently.
“That’s great!”

“Once we have Elegante Group, we can strike the Youngs down!” Daisy smiled in relief.
“Yeah. I’ve been waiting for so long! Once we take control of the Youngs and Young Group, I’ll be the king of Springfield City!” Harold said excitedly.
He burst out laughing as though he already took over Springfield City, when he heard footsteps approaching.
Shortly after, Jacob stumbled into the living room and Harold was shocked by the state he was in.
“Jacob, what happened to you? Have you acquired Elegante Group?” Harold stood from the couch, an ominous feeling taking over him.
“Bad news, Dad! My plan to acquire Elegante Group has been destroyed by Leon Wolf,” Jacob blurted out in frustration.
“What?! How’s Leon Wolf related to this?” Though Harold had a feeling that something happened, he was stunned by the mention of Leon and could not understand how Leon was involved in this.
“Here’s what happened,” Jacob explained gloomily.
“Leon Wolf! How dare he destroy our plans time and time again? Damn him!” Enraged, Harold slammed his fist against the coffee table and the stone table shattered into pieces.
“He’s quite annoying, but I’m a little confused. He’s already broken up with Iris and has a grudge with the Youngs. It’d already be weird if he isn’t supporting us in destroying the Youngs, so why would he acquire Elegante Group? It’s strange!” Daisy scowled.
Harold immediately regained his composure at her words and said, “Are you trying to say that Leon’s just trying to benefit from the Youngs‘ crisis by acquiring Elegante Group?”
“Yeah. That’s possible.” Daisy nodded. She knew the history between Leon and the Youngs and felt that this was Leon’s attempt to seek revenge on Iris and the Youngs by destroying their last resort, since she could not think of any other possibilities.
“It doesn’t look like that to me! If Leon is trying to seek revenge, he should’ve tried to acquire Elegante Group at the lowest price possible! However, he offered to pay 780 million! I think that he’s still in love with Iris and wants to get back together with her!” Jacob said.
Iris was the most beautiful woman in all of Springfield City who enslaved countless men and Jacob felt that Leon was still trying to win Iris back.
“That’s not possible! Leon’s already dating Cynthia and Iris tried to get back together with him a few days ago, but he turned her down. If he’s still in love with Iris, why would he turn her down?” Daisy shook her head
She knew about Leon’s refusal to take Iris back and that Leon already became Cynthia’s boyfriend. She assumed that Leon gave up on Iris and since he resented the Youngs, he would never help them.
What she was unaware of was that Iris never saw Leon and Leon never refused to get back together.

However, he could not determine if that was what Leon was thinking.
“Enough! Do you really think that’s possible?” Harold shot Jacob an annoyed look.
He was trying to figure out what Leon was thinking, yet not only did Jacob fail to help, his view on the matter was completely unrealistic.
Troubled, Harold’s expression darkened.
Daisy felt the same and shot Jacob an odd look.
Both Iris and Cynthia were incredible beauties and anyone who was lucky enough to obtain one of them should be satisfied; if Leon was trying to date both women at the same time, he would only suffer in the end.
“Well, I’m just guessing. Just forget it.” Jacob smiled sheepishly despite what he believed. Though both Daisy and Harold did not agree with him, Jacob instinctively knew that Leon still had feelings for Iris.
“Forget it. It doesn’t matter what Leon Wolf is trying to do. Since he has acquired Elegante Group and cut the Youngs off their last resort, our plan can still go on! We just need to focus on bringing the Young Group down now!” Daisy deadpanned.
She forced Iris to sell Elegante Group because she was always enemies and also because she wanted the Youngs to lose their last hope, so it did not matter who acquired the company in the end.
Once the Youngs lost Elegante Group, Daisy could easily take over Young Group and control the Youngs.
“Yeah, that’s right!” Harold nodded and cast Leon’s interference aside.
“Dad, seriously? Are you letting Leon go for this?” Jacob questioned nervously.
Leon forced him to kneel and apologize at the hotel, yet Harold had no intention of avenging the humiliation he was put through, so he could not bring himself to accept it.
“Jacob, Leon Wolf isn’t our first priority at the moment. We have to focus on bringing the Youngs down for now! Once I have the Youngs under my control, I promise that I’ll destroy that little beast so that he will learn what it means to cross us!” Harold narrowed his eyes dangerously.
He left Leon alone despite their past conflicts mainly because he did not want to risk crossing the Shears. At the moment, he was setting up a trap for the Youngs and did not want to get Leon or the Shears involved.

Iris was informed that Ariel sold the company and hurried to the office in hope to proceed with the paperwork for handover.
As soon as she arrived into the office, she spotted Ariel.
“Ariel, where’s Ashwin? He called and told me that he contacted the buyer and was about to sign the contract, so why are you in charge of this all of a sudden?” Iris asked in confusion.
“Well, the buyer Mister Mercer found an offer too low of a price! My buyer’s willing to acquire Elegante Group for 780 million, so Mister Mercer has handed everything over to me!” Ariel said, not mentioning the fact that she and Leon practically robbed the deal out of Ashwin’s hands.
Since Ashwin betrayed Iris for Jacob and was rendered disabled by Jacob’s men, she was not concerned at all
that Ashwin would tell Iris the truth.
“Are you saying that you sold Elegante Group at 780 million?” Iris gasped in disbelief.
Elegante Group’s market value was at 650 million and that was the price Iris aimed to sell the company for, yet Ariel managed to sell it at 780 million and she could not comprehend how Ariel managed such a thing.
Ariel nodded. “Yes. The buyer has already made the payment.”
“That’s great! Ariel, you’ve done the Youngs a great favor. I’ll have to thank you properly soon!” Overjoyed, Iris gave Ariel a big hug.
The buying contacted by Ashwin lowered the price to 580 million and Iris was forced to sell Elegante Group at such a low price to gather as much funds as possible. However, Ariel managed to sell the company at a much higher price and it should help Young Group through the current crisis.
“Don’t thank me. You should be thanking that fool.” Ariel mumbled and thought to herself, ‘Iris, that fool, Leon, is the only one who loves you with all his heart and he is the one helping you out. Why can’t you
treasure him?‘
“What fool?” Iris was confused as she did not hear what Ariel was saying.
“Nothing,” Ariel shook her head and said.
“By the way, who’s the buyer? Call and inform him to complete the procedures of the takeover!” Iris said.
Since the buyer already paid, she should file the official paperwork to handover her share. However, since Elegante Group was something that she worked for over the years, she still felt reluctant to let it go.
“It’s fine. The buyer has given me the permission to take care of everything,” Ariel said.
“Oh, Okay, then. Let’s go ahead with the paperwork,” Iris said, before taking Ariel’s arm and pulling her toward the respective department.
“Hang on! Iris, are you sure you want to sell this company? This is your last chance and once you sign the paperwork to handover your share, you won’t be able to take it back!” Ariel said.

“O–Okay, then,” Knowing that Iris’s mind was set, Ariel proceeded to say, “Iris, there’s something that I need to remind you. The Young Group is in a crisis now probably because of the Lowes. You and your family
need to be carefull”
“Ariel, are you mistaken? According to what I know, the Lowes have nothing to do with this at all. How can they be involved?” Iris was confused as to what prompted Ariel to say such a thing.
“I’m not mistaken and I personally think that they are vicious people who won’t let this chance go! They might not look like they participate, but who knows what they are doing in the dark? Nonetheless, just watch out!” Ariel said.
Both Ariel and Leon witnessed how Jacob bribed Ashwin into selling him to Elegante Group with a price lower than market value. However, since Leon was involved and Ariel did not have any proof, she could only warn Iris.
“Okay. I’ll be careful.” Iris nodded, but did not think much of it.
Gilbert and the other elders of the Youngs analyzed the situation and decided that the Lowes did not participate in the attack toward the Young Group because Harold was hoping to marry his son with Iris.
Iris agreed with them and did not think that the Lowes were involved.
On the contrary, the Shears were the biggest suspect.
The Shears obtained great power under the help of Leon and Cynthion Group and it was only natural for them to want to become the top family in Springfield City by taking over the Youngs. On top of that, Leon had a grudge with the Youngs and since he became Cynthia’s boyfriend, the Shears had enough reasons to avenge Leon.
On the surface, it was obvious that the Shears were involved and since Iris was misled by Gilbert and the other elders, she also felt that the Shears and Leon were the ones attacking Young Group, which was the reason why she did not reach out to Leon for help.
“Forget it. Let’s just carry on with the paperwork!” Ariel sighed. She already warned Iris as per Leon’s request and she could not help it if the Youngs decided not to listen.

Things moved toward her favor as Harold would not have to do anything to get rid of Gilbert.
Half an hour later, Gilbert regained consciousness after taking the medicine prescribed by Graham. When Iris explained his condition to him, Gilbert was utterly stunned and was at the brink of a mental breakdown.
“How could this happen?” Gilbert paled, his shoulders slumping.

The other elders nodded in agreement.
“N- No way!” Gilbert gaped.
Jonah was his cousin and was also one of the very best martial artists of the second generation among the Youngs. He reached the Peak Supreme State a few years ago and was far superior in all aspects compared to
Gilbert.
Albert fell into a vegetative state and if Gilbert handed Young Group over to Jonah, Jonah would earn the respect of the entire family if the crisis was resolved and might even replace Gilbert to become the next leader of the Youngs; should that happen, the control over the Youngs would fall within Jonah’s hands.
Gilbert refused to accept that.
“Gilbert, the company is dangling by a thread now and you have to make compromises for the greater good!”
“Yeah. Right now, we all have to work as one to overcome the difficulties!”
“You’re not feeling well now and aren’t fit to lead the company. No matter who takes control, what’s most important is that we get past this!”
The elders noticed Gilbert’s reluctance and tried to convince him.
As the elders of the Youngs, they had to prioritize the survival of the family as a whole and it did not matter to them who actually became the leader, since both Gilbert and Jonah were both direct descendants.
“No!” Gilbert said without hesitation, his heart sinking as he knew that the elders would organize a family meeting to force him into handing his position as the chairman over if he failed to offer a solution.
It was the elders‘ right to do so.
“Gilbert, this is just for the time being. Are you really going to be this stubborn?”
The elders‘ expressions darkened.
If Albert was still well, he would have been able to defend Gilbert despite others‘ objections. However, with
him in a vegetative state, Gilbert was nothing but a junior who was yet to take over as the leader of the family.

No one knew who was pulling the string behind the venture capital company.
Meanwhile, it took Gilbert everything to finally resolve the earlier crisis, yet Young Group was at the brink of crumbling apart within the matter of a few days.
Anger and exhaustion overwhelmed him and after spitting blood in his own office, he fell unconscious.
It was an extremely critical moment and the fact that the chairman fell ill shaken the Youngs to their cores.
Everyone in the family felt as though a storm awaited them.
Back in the Young Mansion, Gilbert was hurried back to the mansion by his subordinates.
Daisy and the other elders hastily called for the Holy Doctor, Graham’s help in treating Gilbert.
Inside one of the rooms, Gilbert laid in bed while Graham checked his body thoroughly.
Next to them, stood Iris and other elders as they waited anxiously for the diagnosis worriedly..
After a while, the bodycheck was done and Iris asked, “Graham, how’s my dad?”
“Mister Young has a rather complicated condition,” Graham said thoughtfully.
“What do you mean?”
The elders froze and turned to look at Graham in shock.
“Here’s the thing. Mister Gilbert has suffered from over–exhaustion, which caused damage to his spine and if he rests for a few months, he will recover; however, if he continues to work himself to the brink of collapsing, he would lose mobility in his legs and might die,” Graham explained.
Albert was sick in bed since a while ago and Gilbert felt both physically and mentally challenged by it. In order to resolve Young Group’s survival crisis, he was not able to rest and it began to reflect in his health.
“It’s that bad?!”
The elders were stunned.
During the critical moments that determined if Young Group could survive, Gilbert fell sick and if he rested for months, the company would be completely destroyed by the time he recovered.
“Okay, that’s a relief,” Iris sighed in relief. Unlike the elders, she only cared about her father’s health and since Gilbert’s condition could be treated, she felt far more relieved.
“Miss Young, I’ll prescribe Mister Young some medication for now. Please make sure that he takes them in time every day and he should recover in about a month or two. Also, since his spine is damaged, he’ll need to be on a wheelchair for a while and you can let him sunbathe every day and that should speed up his recovery,
Graham reminded them and proceeded to write a prescription for Gilbert, before leaving.
As they watched Graham leave, all the elders fell into silence and Daisy sneered behind their backs.
She contacted Harold, who planned on killing Gilbert within the next few days, yet Gilbert fell sick before they could even do anything.

If Gilbert insisted on acting as he pleased, the elders still preserved the right to remove him even if he managed to be appointed as the leader.
“I-” Gilbert’s expression darkened at the confrontation. He glanced at Iris and an idea began to form in his
mind.
“Elders, please wait! How about this? I can hand the company over to Iris and she can manage it as the chairman in my absence!” Gilbert blurted out.
Iris was his daughter and handing the company over to her would be a hundred times better than to hand it over to Jonah.
If Iris succeeded in overcoming the crisis, her success would only be considered as Gilbert’s accomplishment and he would have no issue in becoming the next leader of the Youngs.
“That’s a good idea!”
“Iris has just made great sacrifices by selling Elegante Group to save us. She’s a talented businesswoman and if we hand the Young Group over to her, she might be able to get us past this storm!”
The elders whispered to one another and agreed with Gilbert’s suggestion.
Though Jonah was a brilliant martial artist, he might not be as talented in running a company compared to
Iris.
After all, Iris managed Elegante Group on her own and succeeded in increasing its market value by folds. Out of the consideration for the family, Iris was a better candidate to take over Young Group.
Gilbert felt relieved that the elders seemed to agree with him, but was taken by surprise when Daisy
interfered.
“No! I won’t accept that!” Daisy slammed her palms onto the table.
She plotted with Harold to take over the Youngs and they were about to succeed, so she would never allow
Iris to be in control.
“Daisy, what do you think you are doing right now?” Gilbert shot Daisy a cold look of disapproval.
He finally convinced the elders to accept Iris as his replacement and did not expect his own wife to object to it.
‘Does she want Jonah to take over the company? If he becomes the leader of the family, she is going to suffer as well!‘ He thought to himself.
Daisy ignored Gilbert and scoffed. “Elders, you should know that Iris is a woman. She’s bound to get married at some point, so how can we hand the Young Group over to someone who would be excluded from our family in the future? Besides, Gilbert is first in line for the role as leader and Royce comes second! With Gilbert falling too sick to manage the company, he should be handing it over to Royce instead, so Iris and Jonah can hardly be considered as replacements!” Daisy said confidently.
“Hm,” Gilbert finally realized that Daisy wanted to fight for her own son’s right. It was natural for sons to take after their fathers and apart from Gilbert, Royce was indeed the best candidate to take control.
