“Also, we meant what we said. If you manage to resolve this crisis, we’ll all support you to be the leader.
The elders said.

us through the crisis, you will take over as the leader of the Youngs! If Iris still doesn’t want to marry Jacob by then, you can just find an excuse then to reject the Lowes,” Daisy said.
“That’s a great idea!” Gilbert clapped his hands in excitement.
Daisy meant that he could pretend the accept the marriage proposal and use Harold to get past the current crisis, before discarding the Lowes once he became the leader of the Youngs.

Though the Northern King was formidable, the Youngs had far higher power in comparison to them and even if Gilbert broke their promise, Harold could only accept it as it was.
Gilbert desperately wanted Iris to marry Jacob so that he could take the Lowes‘ power for his own, but since Iris refused to do so, he could only manipulate Harold into getting what he wanted.
Harold was only a Semi–Overlord, so he would not be able to destroy the Youngs no matter what happened.

Harold was referred to as the Northern King because he was just as talented as the likes of Albert and Benedict, so Gilbert could not hold a candle to Harold. With her as Harold’s spy, Gilbert was bound for failure.
In the evening, Gilbert sent Randy to bring Harold over to the Young Mansion, and with the other elders as witnesses, they reached an agreement for Iris and Jacob to get married if Lowes helped the Youngs with resolving the current crisis.
Harold accepted the condition right away and the two struck a deal right then and there.
Apart from that, since Gilbert was too ill to manage the company and Daisy was able to come up with a solution, Gilbert and the elders agreed to hand the control over to Royce.

Determined to swallow his pride to see Iris and ask about it, Leon ran into Cynthia on his way out.
“Leon, what’s wrong? Why are you in such a hurry?” Cynthia asked.
“I’m going to find Iris!” He gritted out.
“What?” Cynthia was stunned for a moment, but soon came to a realization. “Have you already found out about the arranged marriage between Jacob and Iris?”
Leon nodded. “Yeah. Do you know about that as well?”
He was surprised at first, but then realized that the Shears had connections all over the city, so it was only
normal for them to find out before he did.
With the Lowes and the Youngs joining forces, the power balance in Springfield City would change. drastically and the Shears could not let it escape their attention.
“Yeah, I just heard about it from Harvey. I came over to tell you about it,” Cynthia said, feeling conflicted.
She knew that Leon was in love with Iris and still struggled to forget about her. She did not want to tell Leon about it out of fear that he might get involved, but she did not want to cross him by hiding it from him either.
After hesitating for a while, she finally decided to tell him and was surprised that Leon already knew.
“Damn it! The Lowes are plotting something and the Youngs are foolish enough to agree to the marriage? Are they trying to dig their own grave?! I’m going to talk to Iris!” Leon’s expression darkened.
He specifically asked Ariel to remind Iris to watch out and he could not understand why Iris would ignore that to marry Jacob. However, he soon realized that Iris might be forced into it based on his understanding on how materialistic and selfish the Youngs were.

Inside her room, Iris sat by the window and stared at the sky blankly.
She lived a peaceful life until all the things that happened to the Youngs recently.
She lost Leon and Elegante Group for her family until she had nothing left. After all that she sacrificed, her father and the elders still decided to sacrifice her to form an alliance with the Lowes.
Disappointed and disheartened, she was deep in thought for the past few days, wondering what she did wrong and how things came to this. All she knew was that she missed Leon and that his face never once faded away from her mind.

Just then, they all heard footsteps approaching and Iris appeared in the main hall by Gilbert’s side.

Seeing that Gilbert entered the room, one of the elders started the gathering.

“We’ll proceed with the ceremony now,” The elder said, before signaling the others to make way.

right before he was assigned as the leader.
“Mister Young, I believe that we have made a deal. You said that you will agree to marry your daughter to my
son if we help you with the crisis your company faced! Since your company has stabilized, fulfill your
promise and give me a confirmed answer right now!” Harold said.
“Well, there’s no rush. We can discuss that after I become the leader of the Youngs!” Gilbert said hesitantly.
“No way! There are orders to things and our deal of the marriage came first. You just have to agree to it here and it won’t take much time!”
