Ch. 1481..1490

The Girlboss Begs For Remarriage Chapter 1481-However, Rob heard Vicky too.

"Come back for you? Frank Lawrence?"

He sneered, heartlessly crushing Vicky and the others' fantasies. "Jan isn't just the best soldier in Draconia-he's the best across Draconia! He alone suppressed the northern savages, and that makes him no different from the Lord of the Southern Woods to an extent. He could handle those maggot martial artists by himself, and that manwhore you're pinning your hopes on is no match for him."

Rob felt smug even as Vicky and Glen turned pale, though he was also feeling curious about what was taking Jan so long.

Still, he had his orders and he knew this could not drag on-he had to seal the deal before the Turnbull branch families caught on.

Hence, he ordered his men to escort Glen and Vicky to the biggest ballroom in Turnbull Estate.

Naturally, his men already had the place under control-hundreds of soldiers were congesting the ballroom and around it. Every Turnbull executive and the branch families who were here were all not allowed to escape.

"Dad, if you don't want the family to suffer any casualties, you will do as you're told-step down as head of the Turnbull family, while I take your place."

Rob spoke coolly as he led his father to his seat, before turning toward the silent Vicky and sneering. "Whether the Turnbull Estate would see a bloodbath today depends entirely on your choice."

Glen was already feeling despair, his thought a mess as he seemed to age decades, while his son 'helped' him back to the main seat of the grand ballroom.

Everyone in the ballroom was restless and whispering among themselves because of the soldiers locking down the place.

As most of the people present were key members of the Turnbull family, they were all shrewd business folk.

In fact, most had already realized the truth-Rob and his men did not leave to investigate the chaos in the other ballroom because they were the instigators in the first place.

A gnawing sense of foreboding crept inside them, as things could change dramatically in the family soon.

"Ahem. Everyone…"

At the same time, Rob strode past his own father to take the main seat, speaking quietly into the mike, "Following our investigation, it turns out that the South Sea Crow incited the martial artists in Ballroom Three to fight among themselves.

Pausing to see everyone's reaction, he chuckled coolly before continuing, "My father is worse for wear from the shock, but fortunately, my brother Jan and I worked together to pacify the situation and slayed the South Sea Crow We won't have to worry about her causing us problems anymore now!

Let's hear a cheer for our victory!"

However, there were a lot less cheers than what Rob expected-only sporadic claps were heard.

The members of the Turnbull family present were no fools. They could already see that something was wrong from Glen and Vicky's expressions, as well as the soldiers confining them to this ve ballroom-there was something most definitely suspicious about this 'return' of the South Sea Crow.

Some even started asking questions.

"Where's Frank Lawrence, Rob?"

Rob was actually surprised that the Turnbulls thought so highly of Frank and frowned slightly in displeasure.

"Yeah, didn't he go with you earlier?"

The Girlboss Begs For Remarriage Chapter 1482-Shrugging, Rob said, "Frank Lawrence… died in the fight against the South Sea Crow."

The members of the Turnbull family, however, appeared suspicious toward his noncommittal response. Some even saw through him right then and were quietly considering how to make their exit. "Ahem…"

Rob cleared his throat to draw everyone's attention back to him, and smiled, "Since I've accomplished the feat of slaying the South Sea Crow, while my father suffered quite the shock, we've agreed that I will take over as the head of the Turnbull family. Right, Father?"

All Glen felt was a bitterness in his throat as he looked at the threatening smile Rob shot at him and turned toward the members of the Turnbull branch families.

They were all waiting for his answer, just as Glen came to realize what Rob meant earlier when he mentioned a bloodbath.

If he refused Rob, the soldiers waiting outside would charge in with their guns and massacre everyone in this ballroom, leaving none alive.

After that, he would subjugate every branch family across Draconia with the Lionhearts' help, either using violence or just bribery.

While it would prove a hassle for Rob, it was not impossible and if he went through with it, the ranks of the Turnbulls would really be shredded.

However, if he acknowledged Rob's statement, he would be stepping down as head of the Turnbull family. And just like the other option, there was no assurance that anyone here would survive.

"How devious!"

Glen certainly hated the Lionhearts to the bone just then-that bunch really would not rest unless his family fell!

But even as he looked at everyone else along with Rob, who was still waiting for his response, he knew that there was no backing out now.

After a brief silence, he nodded ever so slightly.

"Hehehe…"

Rob was immediately smiling smugly when he saw his father nod, as he had expected that.

He always knew that his father was weak and would not destroy half of the Turnbulls' expansive business empire by his own hand.

However, the members of the Turnbull branch families could see through Rob's mad ambitions, and promptly tried to reason with him.

"Mr. Turnbull, are you really stepping down now?"

"Yeah. Everything is going well-why now?"

However, it was simply not up to Glen, and he glanced at his son exasperatedly as he rasped, "Well… From this day forth, I will no longer be in charge of family matters."

"No way!"

"Exactly! You're still young, Mr. Turnbull! Why would you—"

"Shut up!"

Even as the members of the Turnbull branch families relentlessly tried to talk Glen out of it, Rob sprang this feet and snapped, "What would any of you know? My father is in shock and not fing mentally. Are you trying to push him to his death here?!"

The members of the Turnbull family tactfully turned silent right then, as even the dumbest among them could see that Glen was now Rob's hostage. And right now, everything Rob said was absolute.

As For Rob, seeing them hang their heads instead of protesting, he smugly announced, "Very well. I, Rob Turnbull, shall officially take over as the head of the Turnbull family And with the powers vested in me…"

The Girlboss Begs For Remarriage Chapter 1483-"I have three announcements to make."

Rob held up three fingers as he looked around at the members of the Turnbull branch families and spoke coolly, "The first: Turnbull businesses will no longer impose a embargo against the Lionhearts, and the Lionhearts must be given a thirty percent rebate in any trade deal."

"What?!"

All the members of the Turnbull branch families turned pale in shock.

They were the top in Draconia in business, and they used to offer the Lionhearts the best rebates they could. It was only because the Lionhearts repeatedly tried to usurp or bring down their family that Glen imposed the embargo and ceased any partnership or trade with them.

While the Turnbulls suffered losses over that, it was acceptable especially in contrast to the massive losses the Lionhearts had to deal with.

But now, Rob was demanding the restoration of trade relations with the Lionheart as soon as he became head of the Turnbull family, even giving them thirty percent rebates for everything?

Not only would they make no profit from the Lionhearts, but they would be basically offering the Lionhearts tributes instead.

And it was completely unacceptable for a businessman!

One of the the members of the Turnbull branch families began, "Rob, there needs to be a procedure before we lift the embargo-"

"Hmm?!"

Rob was suddenly glaring at him, his eyes narrowing as he asked icily, "What did you just call me?!"

"M-Mr. Turnbull…"

"Hmph."

Rob snorted coldly. "I'm the head of the Turnbull family now, and every policy I make ensures the future prosperity of the family. Don't think prosperity of for a moment that you're losing anything here once the Lionhearts prosper, we will ride on their success!"

"Ride on their success…?"

The members of the Turnbull branch families were all scowling at that their family was one of the Four Families of Morhen too!

There was no question they were no match against the Lionhearts in actual firepower. That certainly was the case with Volsung Sect protecting the Lionhearts, and no amount of money possibly affording the Turnbulls that many martial elites. However, the Lionhearts could not hope to catch up to the Turnbulls when it came to financial wealth either. As one of the Four Families of Morhen, the Turnbulls had their own pride and strength too.

What they did not expect was for Rob to give them up to the Lionhearts, gift-wrapped as soon as he became head of the Turnbull family, even telling them to ride on the Lionhearts' success. Who could bear such humiliation?

In reality, the Turnbulls did not fear the Lionhearts-if they were really bent on taking down the Lionhearts, they were willing to take the burden of getting nothing in return. They would go down swinging even if O they had to, just to deny the Lionhearts any control Draconia.

Be it through banking, F&B, medicine, or entrepreneurship, the Turnbulls could inflict major damage on the Lionhearts within any of those fields. If anything, the embargo Glen imposed was just a reversion to standard prices denying the Lionhearts any rebates.

If the Turnbulls really wanted to, they could completely stop the Lionhearts from trading or buying anything within Draconia's borders and drive all Lionheart businesses into bankruptcy.

It was a fallout the Lionhears could not afford, but such was the strength of the Turnbulls, Draconia's strongest business dynasty.

If anything, they appeared weak before as part of their strategy with assets and members of the branch families now being reintegrated back to the main family, their strength were growing by the day.

The Lionhearts could naturally see where the tide was turning, and deeming it unacceptable, they sent in Jan Lionheart to kickstart a major reshuffling.

Naturally, Rob's unreasonable request left the members of the Turnbull branch families fuming.

No one said a word, however, as it meant death.

The Girlboss Begs For Remarriage Chapter 1484-In all likelihood, Rob would not even waste his breath with them.

Seeing that no one present dared to protest, Rob nodded in satisfaction and held up two fingers. "As for the second announcement, I am hereby rescinding all the privileges of the branch families." "What?!"

The outrageous demand left all the members of the Turnbull branch families dumbfounded.

Even Glen was staring at his own son, flabbergasted.

After all, Glen's own effort to reintegrate the branch families adhered to tradition, as he was slowly purchasing branch families shares or assimilating their shares through various agreements. It was the method any business folk would apply, drawing the branch families back to the main family.

Rob's demand to rescind their privileges was ridiculous in contrast.

The Turnbull branch families had worked for decades-even generations to establish their businesses and enterprises, but all of that would be given to Rob just because he demanded it?! Even frauds would not go that far!

"I protest!"

An elderly member of the Turnbull branch families rose to his feet, bellowing in rage, "You have crossed the line, Rob Turnbull-not even the head of the Turnbull family has such a right!" "Exactly! This is extortion… No, it's worse! It's robbery!"

"We will never agree to this!"

Even as the other members of the Turnbull branch families protested in righteous indignation, Rob remained calm, and even smiled.

"I expected none of you to give up so easily, so I will make my third announcement now."

Rob held up three fingers, narrowing his eyes as he growled coolly. "I will eliminate all dissenters, as the Turnbull family will be reunited as one!"

Then, he pointed at the elderly man who led the protests. "Charwick Turnbull, from the branch family of Braxton, yes? You're guilty of conspiring with Frank Lawrence and Vicky Turnbull against the current head of the Turnbull family, and that means death."

At Rob's orders, his men who were standing at the edge of the hallway all trained their guns, and pressed their triggers even as Charwick looked on in shock. Rat-tat-tat-tat!!!

Flames flared from the barrels as bullets riddled the old man's bodies with dozens of bloody holes, and he fell heavily amidst deafening screams, his eyes wide open and blood foaming out of his mouth as he died. fond "Argh!!!"

Many women shrieked, shocked that Rob was really going through with murder.

Even the men were scowling in sheer trauma.

"Any other traitors? Who else has anything to protest?"

Rob smiled smugly at the other members of the Turnbull branch families and stayed utterly silent after being shown an example.

None of them would dare stand up to Rob when he clearly did not care about family, even murdering them!

But amid the silence, a woman's voice rang sharply, "I object!"

Everyone looked up in shock, because the one who stood up was none other than Vicky.

Her face was pale, but her eyes were flaring in rage as she glared at Rob beside herself, snapping coldly, "Rob Turnbull, you are now no more than a lapdog of the Lionhearts, and the Turnbull family would not succumb to the threats of a bastard like you! If all you can do is kill, then do it-kill everyone in this room, and let's see how you are going to face the wrath of the Turnbulls!"

The Girlboss Begs For Remarriage Chapter 1485-"Well said!"

"That's the missy for you!"

"I've always thought highly of her since she was a kid. Such spirit!"

Everyone was clapping excitedly at Vicky's determined outburst.

And with her taking the lead, the members of the Turnbull branch families were on their feet, all of them protesting against Rob Turnbull's despotic demands. But even as Rob's scowl turned even more obvious, Glen felt a foreboding sensation.

"Hahaha… I see, I see!"

Even as everyone criticized him, Rob, who had been restraining himself for a while, reared his head and laughed loudly and insolently.

When he looked down at the members of the Turnbull branch families and ultimately Vicky, his eyes flashed with spite and murderous intent.

He suddenly leapt toward Vicky, grabbing her and slamming her on the table, while whipping out the handgun from his hip holster and pressed it against her head.

"Like I said… this witch brainwashed the entire Turnbull family!" he bellowed resoundingly, leaving the entire ballroom stunned as he flashed an eerie smile. "And you still dare brainwash the branch families right in my face! It seems that this family must be broken before it can be fixed!"

Vicky felt danger at Rob's outburst and exclaimed in panic, "What do you think you're doing?!"

"What am I doing?! This miserable state of the Turnbull family ends today! From now on, everyone will obey only me and me alone!"

Rob laughed maniacally as he looked towards all the members of the Turnbull branch families. "Ready, take aim! At my order, kill everyone in this ballroom!" "What?!"

Glen knew his son was naive but did not expect him to get that far.

If the members of the Turnbull branch families were killed, not only was his compromising futile, but the entire family would ultimately succumb to infighting! "Are you crazy, Rob?!"

"Are you killing all of us?!"

The members of the Turnbull branch families were all gaping in fear.

"Yes!" Rob bellowed and laughed. "Why would keep anyone here alive when none of you are cooperating? I'll just kill everyone here, and then ask my brother Jan for help and gather every last bit of wealth you have!"

"You're a madman!"

The members of the Turnbull branch families were all left in dismay.

Such cruelty… Rob was no longer human!

"Take aim! F-"

Just as Rob raised his hand, the room opened. Contouret sneering savagely and was about fo give the order to fire, the doors to "Oh! Are you done now, brother?"

Rob was surprised, but quickly lowered his hand while delight showed on his face.

However, the man who came soon left Rob staring blankly in shock before doubt showed and his face turned pale.

"Frank Lawrence?!" he cried out without knowing it.

"What?! Frank Lawrence?!"

The members of the Turnbull branch families who thought they were going to die turned as well, delight showing on their when they saw that it was Frant After all, the man was eponymous with might in their name.

And as Vicky's man, he would never allow Rob to do as he liked!

"H-How is this possible?!"

On the other hand, disappointment showed on Rob's face even as he stared at Frank. "How did you escape my brother Jan?!"

The Girlboss Begs For Remarriage Chapter 1486-"Hmph."

Frank strode in, looked around, and quickly saw that the ballroom was filled with fully-armed soldiers.

He could certainly see right then that Rob was threatening them into submission.

"Darling!"

Vicky's face lit up in delight when she saw that Frank had arrived he really did not disappoint her!

He nodded at her before turning to level an icy glare at Rob. "You have one chance to leave with your men, and kneel in apology while you await your punishment." "Kneel in apology?!"

Rob tilted his head, thinking that he was hearing things, before bursting out in laughter. "Did you take your meds, Frank Lawrence? Did you really think you could order me around just because you escaped my brother, General Jan Lionheart?! Once he catches up, you wouldn't even know what hit you!"

The Turnbulls all turned worriedly toward Frank at Rob's outburst, since it was only then that Rob mentioned General Jan Lionheart.

"General Jan Lionheart… as in the general stationed at northern Draconia?!"

"I heard he accomplished many feats and was promoted to general despite his young age, and a man even the Lionhearts are proud of." "And Rob brought him here…?"

Many of them could not help exclaiming in shock, as they realized why Rob was so full of himself.

It turned out that he had General Jan Lionheart's support! It was all over for them now!

In their minds, Frank may be a powerful martial artist, but he paled in comparison to an accomplished, famous general.

Still, Frank's next words left everyone stiffening in shock.

"Jan Lionheart?" He chuckled in disdain. "I killed him."

"What…"

Rob's eyes widened, his cheeks clenching. "No… That's impossible! General Jan Lionheart is my brother! He would never die to the likes of a piece of shit manwhore like you!"

"Yeah…"

The members of the Turnbull branch families were all skeptical too-was Frank not exaggerating too much there?

They are talking about Jan Lionheart, the second strongest among the Lionhearts' younger generation! A man honored with the title of general despite his young age! How could Frank be able to kill him just like that?! "You're lying!"

Rob continued ranting furiously even as he pointed at Frank, "You little manwhore! You will pay for your slander of my brother. You will die in pieces once he comes and finds out what you said about him! It's over for you!" , Won Despite his endless yapping, there were doubts at the bottom of his heart, since there had not been any response from Jan after all this time. There was no reason Jan should be dragging his feet-he would definitely come here once he eliminated Frank.

Was it possible that Frank really killed him?!

No, that was impossible!

Rob refused to entertain the possibility-in his mind, Jan was the greatest martial artist across all Draconia, while the rest were liars and mooks. That was why he so willingly submitted to Jan-he believed that Jan was the real deal.

The Girlboss Begs For Remarriage Chapter 1487-But now, Rob was told that the almighty General Jan Lionheart was slain by the manwhore before him?

He certainly would not believe it, as it would destroy his world!

"Hehe. It's not necessary for me to believe you."

Frank could not care less that he was not convincing Rob.

Pure vigor converged over his palm, and dozens of transparent needles materialized.

Frank waved, launching the needles, and Rob's soldiers all froze instantly, their expression stiff like statues.

"What?!"

Rob was left dumbstruck when he saw what Frank did and narrowed his eyes.

That was when he saw the needle that pierced the neck of the soldier nearest to him. In fact, the soldier's eyes were pleading for help, as the pure vigor needle kept him utterly immobile. "What else do you have up your sleeve now, Rob Turnbull?"

Frank glowered even as he strode towards Rob.

"I… Don't get so full of yourself, Frank Lawrence! Vicky… Right! I have her. Another step, and I will-"

Rob then came to his senses and tried to use Vicky as a hostage to threaten Frank, until he looked down and saw that his trigger finger was already on the floor, lying in a puddle of blood. "Argh!!!"

Rob squealed like a gutted pig even as he stumbled backward, dropping his gun with a thud.

"Hmph!"

Rob only got the better of Vicky earlier because she was surprised.

And though she was not particularly strong, she was at least a vigor wielder.

She wasted no breath spinning around and kicking Rob to the floor, and stamping her foot on his back. "What else do you have to say now, Rob?!" she snapped coolly through her teeth.

"I… I…"

Rob sobbed even as he struggled to look up and glared viciously at Vicky, and then at Frank when he reached them. "M-My brother Jan will make you pay! You're all going to die! You hear me?! You're all going to die!"

QUMS Seeing that Rob was still struggling defiantly, Frank did not bother to argue.

He whipped out the blood-soaked epaulet he tore off Jan's coat and threw it in front of Rob.

"You're really still hoping for your dear brother to save you?"

He chuckled, shaking his head and sighing. "What an idiot."

"What?!"

Rob was left flabbergasted even as he picked up the epaulet. you manwhore! H dare you… You slayed Content "That's not all."

As everyone looked on, Frank snatched the epaulet out of Rob's grasp and tore it open to reveal a tiny listening device.

"What…"

Rob's eyes widened, unsure what it was.

"It's a bug, idiot."

Frank chuckled coolly, and tore off listening device. "Here, et Paulet to extract another Rob's one coat too."

Rob was stumped. "What… when… Why would my brother bug me…" "Hehe." Frank shrugged. "Why don't you use your tiny brain to think?"

The Girlboss Begs For Remarriage Chapter 1488-Frank then picked up the listening device he took from Jan, speaking quietly, "This bug is different from the one planted on you. It records conversations, but you can also converse through it-so why don't I show you what your dear brother was hiding from you?" Frank then pressed a button on the listening device, broadcasting throughout the ballroom with the microphone.

"Don't worry, Mr. Lionheart. Rob Turnbull is a total idiot-just a little push, and he's beside himself with tearful gratitude and unable to wait to kill his own father for my sake."

"Hehe… Don't worry. The plan is flawless this time, but I just need that woman to write a challenge letter, just so that Glen Turnbull doesn't see through this plan."

"Yes, don't worry… I will definitely bring down the Turnbulls this time and deliver their spiritron vein to you."

As the recording ended, Rob and the rest of the Turnbulls in the ballroom were gaping in rage and disbelief. "B-Brother Jan… was using me?"

Rob was trembling all over even as he lay sprawled on the floor, his gaze blank as his convictions vaporized. "Still going to be stubborn, Rob?" Vicky demanded icily.

"I…"

Rob's jaw hung open, unable to speak.

Still, he was eventually hiding his face in his palm as he bawled, "H-How did this happen?! I treated him like my brother! How could he do this?!"

Frank looked on in contempt at Rob's miserable breakdown.

Forget being stupid-he was supposed to be the heir to one of the Four Families of Morhen, and he was crying?!

The future of the Turnbulls was really grim…

Naturally, Frank had his own rewards from helping the Turnbulls.

His fellow apprentice, Ciaran Zobel, who was otherwise known as the South Sea Crow, was not executed as Jan had claimed.

The Lionhearts had her but were keeping her alive.

While that thought comforted Frank, it still hurt to come up with a rescue plan.

Unlike with the Soranos, if Frank went to Lionheart Estate demanding Ciaran back, what awaited him was not acalm negotiation but ao bloodbath.

And if he were to be honest, he was not confident about beating Simon Lionheart or getting Ciaran out of the Lionheart Estate alive. That was why he must not act reckless for now.

But just as Frank thought about his next step, Glen returned to the mike.

Glancing at Vicky and Frank, he sighed heavily before speaking quietly, "It seems that Rob really took us for a ride this time… It was never the South Sea Crow but a conspiracy of the Lionhearts that Rob fell for, and he was in turn used like a tool against us. It is as frustrating as it is disappointing."

Rob flinched at Glen's words and looked up miserably at his father. "Dad, I—" "Don't call me dad. I don't have a wretched son like you."

Glen shook his head. "I've always thought you were simple-minded and would have trouble becoming the head of the family. That's why sent you to military training, so that you could see the world and understand the dark side of people… I just didn't think that you were so stupid, and you are now both a disappointment and embarrassment to us all."

Clearing his throat, Glen cleared his throat as his eyes flashed coldly. "Rob Turnbull is no longer my successor!"

The Girlboss Begs For Remarriage Chapter 1489-Rob cringed when he heard about his removal from the line of succession.

However, he hung his head as he accepted reality, since he knew he had grounds to argue.

And after a brief silence, Glen continued.

"Still, I still need a successor."

This time, he glanced at Frank, his tone changing sharply, "As a son-in-law of this family, Frank has already saved us from several crises, not to mention he saved all our lives today. If not for him, Rob would've killed us all." Pausing, Glen looked at all the members of the Turnbull branch families and asked loudly, "As such, I propose to have Frank Lawrence become my successor. What do you think?!" "Huh?!"

"What?!"

Everyone in the ballroom was left dumbstruck.

Letting an outsider become the next head of the Turnbull family?! Was Glen kidding?!

They owed the man a lot, but this was still ridiculous!

"Hoho, I'm just kidding."

Glen waved them off, chuckling amid the stunned silence. "I'm actually nominating my niece Vicky to be my successor. How about that?" "Oh, I see…"

The members of the Turnbull branch families sighed in relief from their earlier shock, though someone noticed something unusual just then.

"Hold on the family head has always been a man., but it's a woman now?" one of them asked.

The other members of the Turnbull branch families turned in confusion toward Glen right then as well, but Glen simply glanced at Frank with a quiet smile. They all got it right then-in the end, Glen wanted Frank to be his successor anyway!

However, considering that they had a proper heiress in Vicky as a buffer, the members of the Turnbull branch families all nodded in agreement after some thought. After all, they sorely lacked firepower if they were to fight against martial elites of the Lionhearts.

And right now, Frank had proven himself to be stronger than Jan.

That meant if they could bring Frank over to their side, the Lionhearts would not go down the route of a direct conflict.

And it would really have been the end of the Turnbulls if not for Frank being here today.

Not only would they be reduced to vassals of the Lionhearts, but they probably would not remain as one of the Four Families of Morhen.

That was why the members of the Turnbull family present did not hesitate for long and almost unanimously voted in agreement for Vicky to be the next head of the Turnbull family.

And despite being a woman, she had earned the respect of the members of the Turnbull branch families when she bravely stood up to Rob.

It was enough for them.Exclusive content © by Nô(v)el/Dr/ama.Org.

And seeing that no one was protesting, Glen announced cheerfully, "Very well. Then I'm hereby announcing that my niece Vicky will be the next head of the Turnbull family!"

A thunderous applause ensued all around them, a completely different reaction to when Rob declared himself the head of the Turnbull family. Even as the man in question got up and moved to hide in a corner, he glared at Vicky in spite and jealousy as she basked in her moment. "And now, as for Rob…"

After that announcement, Glen turned coldly toward Rob, and snapped coldly, "He will be punished per family law! His kneecaps will be removed and his tongue cut off! And he will not be allowed to take a single step out of Turnbull Estate!"

"What?!"

Rob panicked at his sentence and rushed to kowtow repeatedly at Glen, begging, "Please, Dad! I'm your son!"

The Girlboss Begs For Remarriage Chapter 1490-"You can't do this, Dad!" Rob cried. "No father should outlive his son are you really going to watch me live the rest of my life a cripple?!" However, Glen had long since resolved himself, especially when he saw the spiteful glared Rob shot at Vicky earlier.

He must not allow Rob any chance to hurt the family again and must pay for his crimes, even if Rob was his own son! "Mr. Turnbull, isn't that a little too much…"

Still, even the members of the Turnbull branch families were not sure about Glen's judgment, as it was worse than killing Rob.

Rob quickly jumped in. "Y-Yeah, Dad! You can't do this to me?!"

"I said, he will be punished according to family rules!" Glen barked before turning towards the two sentries nearby. "Do you not understand me?! Get him out of here!" "Yes, Mr. Turnbull!"

The two sentries did a double take but quickly dragged Rob out of the ballroom even as he cried and pleaded.

"Dad!!!"

Rob's scream was shrill and harrowing, but Glen glowered, not shying from enforcing family rules.

Still, he was grimacing, his cheeks visibly twitching and pain showing in his eyes.

He must go through with it for the sake of the Turnbull family, even if it meant punishing his own son.

"Well then. Now it's time we have a proper discussion about what we should do, since the Lionhearts are really breathing down our necks…"

Glen smiled coolly as he looked upon the members of the Turnbull branch families, all of whom were glowering as well.

The Lionhearts were completely out of line this time and basically shitting on their faces!

If the Turnbulls did not do something here, others would really see them as weak!

A day later at Lionheart Estate, a white-haired middle-aged man was seated meditatively on a round cushion in a wooden cabin beside a quiet stream, his eyes closed as he rested. The scent of mahogany swirled in the air, giving it a less than mundane vibe.

"Master Lionheart." A Lionheart sentry rushed into the cabin just then.

"What's the hurry?" The white-haired middle-aged man asked calmly without looking up. "It's Jan Lionheart. He's… He's…"

"Dead?"

The white-haired middle-aged man finished the sentry's sentence while slowly opening his eyes… both of which were eerily white, lacking any pupils.

"Yes, he is." The sentry flinched when he saw him open his eyes, and promptly dropped to his knees to avoid the white-haired middle-aged man's gaze.

"Heh. That's what happens when you get too eager for quick success."

The white-haired middle-aged man chuckled, as if Jan's death was frivolous to him, and closed his eyes again. "You may leave."

Still, the sentry began, "Sir, the Turnbulls…"

"They're not going to just let it slide now that the cat is out of the bag. Let them be."

The white-haired middle-aged man said calmly, but then asked quietly, "By the way, how has Titus been?"

The sentry replied respectfully, "He's been meditating recently as he was told to and refrained from getting involved in any family matters."

"Hehe… Not bad, not bad." The white-haired middle-aged man "It seems that he's really getting his act together… Well, tell him to come see me."

"Yes, Master Lionheart," the sentry replied and left.
