Ch. 1801..1810
The Girlboss Begs For Remarriage Chapter 1801-"Please wait, Mr. Lawrence!" Mobius quickly called out, sensing that Frank was ready to hang up.
Then, after some thought, he spoke with a conflicted tone, "Well, how about I trade your Bloodcrane Spiritbloom with another treasure?"
"Treasure?"
Frank rubbed his chin, frowning. "What treasure?"
"Heheh… I knew you'd be interested."
Mobius chuckled. "Well, while most wouldn't even have heard of it, I'm sure you would, Mr. Lawrence-after all, it's a spiritron vein we're talking about."
"A spiritron vein?!"
Frank's heart almost stopped in sheer disbelief-how did those foreigners get their hands on a spiritron vein?
Meanwhile, Mobius was still chuckling jovially. "Hehe… So how about that, Mr. Lawrence? A spiritron vein for your Bloodcrane Spiritbloom-wouldn't you say it's a fair trade? Hell, I might even say that we're losing out here."
Mobius's tone was more relaxed as he realized Frank recognized the spiritron vein, and he was not exaggerating either-Frank would not lose out if Mobius really had a spiritron vein to trade.
After all, though there were eight spiritron veins, each embodied unbelievable godlike attributes.
The one imbued within Kat Yego, for example, granted her tremendous potential as a martial artist, and her blood could accelerate the growth of medicinal herbs.
Frank did not ask for details about the spiritron vein found in Zamri either. It ended up in Silverbell's possession, but thinking about it now, it would have been amazing too.
And for some reason, when Mobius mentioned the spiritron vein, Frank was reminded of his conversation with Vicky last night-about the spiritron vein that the Turnbulls had lost.
Could that rogue executive have sold it to Mobius?
That was clearly unrealistic and a huge coincidence if it was true.
Whatever the case might be, Frank was not about to lose the lead now.
He would certainly not complain about having too many spiritron veins either and was willing to take any he could, as long as he kept a lid on things and prevented any bloodshed. Hence, after some thought, he decided to keep Mobius on tenterhooks. "There's no doubt that my Bloodcrane Spiritbloom can sustain your boss, but the spiritron vein is a big deal… And you know I can't take your offer at face value." "Oh, don't worry, Mr. Lawrence."
Mobius laughed calmly, as if he already knew that Frank would get suspicious. "I have a way to prove that it's real. Here's an address—just head over, and you'll understand."
With that, Mobius hung up, and Frank's phone jingled with a text alert, the address located in none other than Bralog, where he had just made a mess.
"Urgh."
Frank was still staring at his phone in thought when Vicky gently opened his door and handed him a card "Here the details on the rogue rogue executive. Sorry to make you go on a trip." Frank did a double take when he looked down and saw that the rogue executive was staying at a hotel in Bralog.
That was too much of a coincidence-could Mobius have gotten his spiritron vein from the rogue Turnbull executive?
As he spaced out, Vicky noticed and sat down beside him, smiling. "What, are you regretting agreeing to help?" "No. But…"
Frank frowned but eventually shook his head-speaking too much here would only worry Vicky more.
The Girlboss Begs For Remarriage Chapter 1802-Deciding that it was not too late to tell Vicky everything after his investigation, Frank decided to leave right then.
On his way out, he told Helen and everyone else that he was leaving and assigned Madfist to protect them while he drove alone to Bralog. This time, he knew the way, so he did not have to impose on anyone.
It took him another twelve hours to reach the hotel Vicky mentioned, where he ran into Silverbell, who was just checking in at the front desk. Beside him stood a good-looking, long-haired youth who also carried a sword and had the air of a successor to a seclusive sect.
"Silverbell?"
Frank was surprised to see her there, and so was she, though there was soon a hint of joy on her face.
On the other hand, the young man beside Silverbell was frowning at Frank in contempt. "Lady Silverbell, this man is—"
"My fiance, Frank Lawrence," Silverbell replied, striding over to Frank before the long-haired youth could react, even ignoring all the looks of shock as she wrapped her hands around his arm.
The intimate gesture left the man scowling, while Frank was quite stunned too.
As he glanced at Silverbell, he found her blushing slightly, which looked especially fitting with her sagely dress and added to her coquettishness. "Shush…"
Still, she whispered under her breath, clearly telling Frank not to speak.
"Mr. Frank Lawrence, yes?"
There was an awkward vibe in the room, though the long-haired youth soon walked toward Frank, his glare threatening although he was offering a handshake. "Mickus Salor, heir to Clear Winds Pavilion."
"I see. Nice to meet you, Mr. Salor."
Frank took the handshake, despite noticing the youth's jealousy over Silverbell, and he immediately felt the monumental grip strength exerted. "Hmm?" he murmured, as Mickus even buffed his vice-like grip with pure vigor, ready to crush Frank's hand in public.
"Hmph!" Seeing that Micukus was intent on embarrassing him, Frank et was naturally not just going to smile and play along. "You little…"
SW Narrowing his eyes, he charged his Five-Peat Archaeus, unleashing it out of his meridian nexus toward his palm.
Mickus' eyes widened, not expecting such power from Frank.
And with that, the handshake continued for over half a minute, with Frank remaining nonchalant throughout. Mickus was at first nonchalant too, but he was now clearly having trouble, even sweating down his brow.
That was when he suddenly heard Frank chuckle. "I guess that's something."
He looked up and suddenly found Frank smirking at him in amusement, and…
Bang!
Mickus' eyes widened and his cheek clenched, as he could feel the monumental force suddenly crushing his fingers! Overwhelmed, he gritted his teeth and swung his palm at Frank's chest.
Catching his cue, Frank followed the flow of the shockwave to release Mickus' hand and leapt two meters behind.
Mickus looked down at his palm just then, aling as he could clearly feel that the bones in his fingers were almost breaking.
The Girlboss Begs For Remarriage Chapter 1803-If he were one second slower, Mickus' hand would have been minced meat.
Still, he quickly hid his trembling right hand behind himself while glaring coldly at Frank. "Impressive."
His flattery was icy, just as there was no hint of positive attitude toward Frank in his visage if anything, he looked even more hostile now.
"You flatter me," Frank replied, his tone neutral.
Such was his attitude-if the other person backed down, he would afford them their solace.
However, it was still clear that the heir to Clear Winds Pavilion had no respect for Frank and was actually hostile.
Glancing at Silverbell beside himself, Frank could certainly see why.
"Hmph!"
Mickus snorted coldly, not forgetting to threaten Frank before he stormed off. "Don't think you get to strut just because you have some skill! There's all the time for you to suffer!"
"You don't have to worry about that," Frank replied, calm as ever.
Mickus was left glowering, while Frank waited until he was gone before turning toward Silverbell.
"Pfft…"
To his surprise, he found her giggling, and her divine good looks and her carefree smile left Frank spacing out.
Still, she soon realized that Frank was staring fixedly at her, blushing as she explained under her breath, "Clear Winds Pavilion is a Bralog sect that has stayed in seclusion, and Mickus has been stalking me for a while, but I can't give him the cold shoulder since his sect is part of the Martial Alliance."
"Must be tough being the chief." Frank could not help chuckling at Silverbell's words. "Running all over Draconia, mediating between various factions, as well as having to look pretty for them…"
"What are you saying?!"
Silverbell pouted at the last part, rolling her eyes at Frank.
Frank chuckled and said, "Alright then. Go on-tell me what you're doing here. I happen to be in town for some business, and I can help if you need me."
Silverbell was surprised and was ready to refuse.
Still, she nodded after some thought. "I've come in secret to investigate a certain foreigner. He's a legitimate businessman, but in reality, he's a heretical geomancer." "A heretical geomancer?"
It was the first time Frank heard of such a title and was immediately interested.
Silverbell nodded. "I'm telling you et just so that you'll be careful. He's really unpredictable and his methods unorthodox-you'd fall for it if you let your guard down fora moment. I don't mind telling you that it's my first time dealing with such a case too." Frank lifted a brow. "Methods such as…?"
"Such as…"
Silverbell thought about it but remained uncertain. "Drinking a fetus' blood to maintain his youth, cannibalistic rituals, devouring dreams…"
"Did you read that from some witch hunting manual?"
Frank chuckled, since it sounded just like those middle-age tomes.
Silverbell blushed. "Like I said, it's my first time taking on a case like this."
"Well then, if it really is just like what those books said, then this heretical geomancer is trouble."
Frank smiled without hesitation. "And to make up for causing your companion to storm off, I'll help you deal with your geomancer." "What about your business…?"
། "There's no rush." Frank waved off Silverbell, chuckling. "I'm waiting for the aparty to make contact anyway. Since I have the time, I can go with you."
The Girlboss Begs For Remarriage Chapter 1804-"There's no rush." Frank waved off Silverbell, chuckling. "I'm waiting for the other party to make contact anyway. Since I have the time, I can go with you."
"Okay." Silverbell did not reject Frank, since she knew the depth of his abilities.
If anything, she felt more confident with his involvement.
With that, Frank booked the room beside Silverbell so that they could stay close, while Mickus stayed in the room opposite Silverbell's.
Late into the night, a blond foreign businessman was seated in his room, sipping wine as if waiting.
A cool breeze suddenly gusted into the room, and the window unwittingly opened.
By the time the foreign businessman turned to look, a towering shadow had arrived.
He sat opposite the foreign businessman, snatching the bottle of wine from the table and chugging it before snorting in displeasure.
Naturally, the foreign businessman was none other than Mobius, who smiled at the shadow and spoke in crude Draconian. "So you kept true to your word, Mr. Shrode. But don't you think your entrance is rude?"
"Cut the crap."
Mr. Shrode snorted. "There are eyes on me, and I need a lot of money to flee the country. So pay me, and I'll give you the spiritron vein. Do you have any problems with that?"
Mobius shrugged. "Money isn't an issue, but the authenticity of your spiritron vein is the key issue here. Would you allow me to appraise it?" "You're still suspecting me, after everything?"
net His request actually annoyed Mr. Shrode. "The Lionhearts were the ones who asked me to steal this spiritron vein, but Titus Lionheart broke the agreement and tried to have me killed. It took me great lengths to escape the Lionhearts' pursuit and flee here to Bralog!"
"I'm not questioning your character here, Mr. Shrode,"
here, Mr. Shrode," Mobius said, shaking his head. "I've already given you my word-if the spiritron vein you gave me is the real deal, m master shall grant you immunity, and no one would lay a finger on you within Draconia borders. Or perhaps you really thought that you had escaped the Lionhearts on your own?" Mobius' words were blunt, leaving Mr. Shrode a little stumped.
Still, he soon chuckled. "Heh. I'm surprised you have such influence even in Draconia. I've really underestimated you people…"
"Time is precious, Mr. Shrode. The spiritron vein, please," Mobius insisted, focused as ever.
"Fine."
With that, Mr. Shrode did not hesitate to take out what appeared to be a stark-white phalange from his pocket and place it on his table. The unassuming object left Mobius frowning. "That's… a spiritron vein?"
"Yes."
Mr. Shrode took a deep breath before saying coolly, "I went through great lengths to steal it from the Turnbulls. With this, you can recover from any injury that doesn't kill you instantly." Holding out his arm, he said, "This arm had been hacked off by a Lionheart sentinel. But as you can see, it has regrown in less than two days. Do you believe me now?"
"Well, it is wondrous…"
Mobius's eyes lit up, impressed.
Suddenly, he whipped out a knife from his pocket and sliced off his little finger as Mr. Shrode looked on!
The Girlboss Begs For Remarriage Chapter 1805-Mr. Shrode was left taken aback, seeing how determined the foreign businessman was.
"This much is nothing for the sake of my master."
Mobius flashed an eerie smile, staring at his bleeding hand without even flinching from the pain.
And just as Mr. Shrode said, as Mobius held on firmly to the spiritron vein for just five minutes, his little finger started to regrow visibly.
It took another two minutes before he had a functioning little finger again.
Mr. Shrode was blinking as he looked on, though he soon forced a smile. "See? I wasn't lying, was I?"
"No, you weren't," Mobius replied, chuckling after studying his finger and confirming the effect of the spiritron vein. "Well, how much do you want for it?"
"Five hundred billion. Take it or leave it."
Mr. Shrode wiped his forehead, a greedy smile showing on his lips. "The Lionhearts offered me 400 billion, but I just didn't know that they weren't going to pay. Moreover, you're not Draconian, so you should pay me more to overcome my patriotism."
Mobius simply smiled and shook his head despite Mr. Shrode's greedy demand. "Mr. Shrode, it's only thanks to my master, who ensured you could reach Bralog safely… so, how about 500 million instead?"
"Five hundred million?! I'm afraid that's too far for a joke!"
Mr. Shrode was left staring in disbelief, sweating down his brow while grinning. "Since you're not serious about this, I'm walking away, and I doubt there wouldn't be anyone in Draconia who would be interested in my spiritron vein."
"Wait."
Standing up, Mobius continued to smile and shook his head. "Last offer-500 million. That's the best price I'm offering you, as the price you demand is null, considering how Mr. Bozad has protected you on more than one occasion. After all, life is priceless, don't you think?"Copyright Nôv/el/Dra/ma.Org.
"Are you fucking kidding me?!"
Seeing that back down, his Mobius was not going to Mr. Shrode swore under and snatched the spiritron vein off the table. He then strode toward the window, ready to leave. "I'll admit that you've protected me a few times, but you don't get to bully me like this. Five hundred million?! The audacity!" Mobius said nothing in turn, simply narrowing his eyes as he watched Mr. Shrode.
That was when Mr. Shrode felt a cold breeze on his face when he almost reached the window, and his whole body stiffened. "What…" He was left stumped as he realized the breeze left him immobile.
"Oh, such a shame…"
His broken speech was suddenly gone just then, as Mobius spoke in fluent Draconian.
His eyes flashed coldly, and he sneered viciously even as Mr. Shrode turned stiffly to look at him.
"Five hundred million was a good price, but you just don't know when to stop, Mr. Shrode!" "W-What are you-"
། Even before Mr. Shrode realized it, Mobius seemed to have teleported beside him, his jaw widening ridiculously before chomping down on Mr. Shrode's neck. "Guh!"
Mr. Shrode's eyes widened in disbelief.
He tried to scream, but no words came out.
one In the end, he fell loudly to the ground, his life drained from him.
The Girlboss Begs For Remarriage Chapter 1806-"Such a shame."
Mobius sneered under the moon's glow, wiping the blood off his lips.
Then, searching and taking the spiritron vein from Mr. Shrode's body, he nodded in satisfaction. "Along with the Bloodcrane Spiritbloom that Huub Droitner mentioned, my master will transcend mortality."
"Guh…"
Mr. Shrode was glaring from the floor even as he watched the spiritron vein being taken away. He raised a shaking hand to snatch it from Mobius' grasp…
That was when it happened.
Feeling a numbing sensation in his neck, Mr. Shrode strained himself to lower his gaze and found a swarm of black bugs crawling out of his chest.
It was a harrowing sight, and when Mr. Shrode saw it, he realized that they had entered his body when he drank Mobius' wine.
"Guh…"
Nheless, Mr. Shrode could not speak as his throat was chewed through. He could only watch helplessly as more of those bugs crawled out of his body, eventually devouring him.
In less than ten minutes, nothing was left of the living, breathing person on the floor-not even a drop of blood.
Early next morning…
"What? The Lionhearts were the ones who told the Martial Alliance?!"
Frank was shocked.
He was chatting with Silverbell after breakfast, when she told him that she came because the Lionhearts had tipped her off about the presence of the heretical geomancer. The Lionhearts were actually a member of the Martial Alliance and had considerable influence. As such, a tip from them had to be taken seriously, even sending out their chief to investigate.
Still, while Silverbell was neutral toward the Lionhearts, Frank considered them his mortal enemies.
In all likelihood, the Lionhearts were aware of Frank's connection with Silverbell as well. That in turn made Frank suspect that this was a ruse that the Lionhearts were setting up to eliminate him and Silverbell. It certainly fit the Lionhearts' style, which was why he and Silverbell must stay on their toes from here on out.
"Oh! You've really come, Mr. Lawrence!"
Just as Frank and Silverbell were having breakfast, a smiling blond foreign businessman approached them.
Frank had an idea who he was but asked nheless, "And you are…?"
"Haha. I'm Mobius-one of Yohan Bozad's close confidants." Mobius nodded before turning toward Silverbell. "And this lady is…"
"Silverbell, my sister," Frank quickly answered to stop Silverbell from exposing herself.
Silverbell was taken aback but soon caught the hint.
"Hello, Mr. Mobius." She smiled and nodded.
"Hello." Mobius smiled, even joking in his broken Draconian, "You should keep both eyes on her, Mr. Lawrence. There aren't many ladies as beautiful as your sister here."
Frank waved him off and chuckled, his eyes narrowing. "Let's keep things short, Mr. Mobius. I've brought what you've asked for, and in exchange…" "Oh, that's not an issue." Mobius nodded.
While he was perplexed that Frank was ready to talk shop right in front of his sister, he was not all that worried, smiling as he took out a piece of red cloth.
The Girlboss Begs For Remarriage Chapter 1807-Mobius then unwrapped the red cloth to reveal the stark white phalange the same one that Mr. Shrode had brought in last night.
"This is the spiritron vein I would trade with you, Mr. Lawrence," Mobius then said nonchalantly. "I can even tell you how it works-it can regenerate any wound and any missing body parts."
Frank narrowed his eyes at Mobius, words, his fingers touching the card Vicky gave him before he came.
There was no mistaking it now, as the card had both the address of this hotel and a photo of what the Turnbulls' lost spiritron vein looked like.
It was the one Mobius was showing them right now!
Vicky had also mentioned that it was unparalleled in regenerating physical wounds. However, since the Turnbulls were not a martial clan, they did not care much even after acquiring the spiritual vein, instead consecrating it at their ancestral shrine.
"Frank...?"
Silverbell was shocked too, as she did not expect Frank's business in Bralog to involve a spiritron vein.
If word got out, would that not lead to a battle between all the factions?
Even now, she could still vividly remember the close shaves she had when she got her own spiritron vein. "Is this to your satisfaction, Mr. Lawrence?" Mobius asked just then, bringing Frank to his senses.
Frank considered it, but before he could speak, a loud yell resounded from the distance. "How dare you!"
Both Frank and Mobius turned to find a long-haired youth, and he was none other than Mickus Salor, the heir to Clear Winds Pavilion who had just lost a handshake match with Frank yesterday.
His eyes widened as he stared at the spiritron vein, bellowing in disbelief as he pointed at Frank, "How dare you... selling off a national treasure?!"
He was clearly presuming that Frank was the seller and violating Draconia's laws against selling historical artifacts, let alone to foreign parties.
And since the spiritron vein was Draconia's most valuable treasure, the consequences of losing it to foreign powers was unthinkable.
That was exactly what Mickus was
going for as he glared at Frank and Silverbell, snarling coolly,
"Impressive, Lady Silverbell! To think that I believed you above the rest. before. but you're actually in cahoots with Frank Lawrence! How disappointing! I will inform the eldest of the Martial Alliance right now and remove you from office!"
"Shut up!" Frank snapped, scowling right then. "This has nothing to do with Silverbell!"
"Nothing to do with her?!" Mickus bellowed. "I'm seeing this happen with my own eyes, and you'd still say otherwise?!"
"Not everything you see is reality," Frank retorted coolly.
"That's enough, Mr. Salor!"
Silverbell frowned as she strode up to Mickus, knowing that the person she brought had messed up Frank's plans. "It's Mr. Mobius here who acquired the spiritron vein, and it's Frank who's trying to buy it from him."
The Girlboss Begs For Remarriage Chapter 1808- Silverbell reasoned, "We should just stay out of this, or you will be tried for treason if the deal goes south and the spitron vein really falls into foreign hands."
"Me, tried for treason?"
Mickus stared at Silverbell in disbelief, but he soon reared his head and laughed. "Lady Silverbell, oh mighty chief of the Martial Alliance… you're really getting smarter with words now. Isn't that man your fiance? Aren't you just trying to protect him by lying to me? And do you think I'm some clueless toddler?"
Even as they argued, Mobius frowned. "Silverbell? Chief of the Martial Alliance?"
Frank cursed Mickus under his breath-there would be unnecessary trouble if Silverbell's position as the chief of the Martial Alliance was exposed. Not only would Mobius get suspicious, but they would also have trouble tracking down the heretical geomancer!
To no surprise, Mobius smiled and shook his head at Frank. "I think you should really sort out your domestic issues before coming to me, Mr. Lawrence."
With that, he wrapped the spiritron vein in the red cloth and started to leave the restaurant.
Seeing that, Mickus strode past Silverbell, intercepting Mobius. "What?! Are you trying to run as soon as you get our spiritron vein? Don't you know that it's a national treasure and not for sale?!"
Frank narrowed his eyes at Mickus. He could see from Mickus' greedy leer that he wanted the spiritron vein for himself.
"Mickus Salor!"
Rage showed on Silverbell's pretty face, seeing that the trade had gone south because of Mickus' interference. "As the chief of the Martial Alliance, I'm ordering you to back off!"
"You're no longer the chief of the Martial Alliance!" Mickus bellowed back. "Draconia has no place for you after you've consorted with the enemy!" Then, he clapped his hands, and over a dozen Clear Winds Pavilion apprentices strode in.
Mickus pointed at Mobius and bellowed right then, "Take down that foreigner!"
"Yes, sir!"
Mobius' expression was cold as he watched the Clear Winds Pavilion apprentices surround him.
He was not about to give up on something Yohan Bozad needed!
"Eh?"
Still, just as he narrowed his eyes and ready for a fight, he was caught by surprise as Frank strode past him.
Frank was clearly not after him, but he was walking right up to Mickus instead, scowling as he growled, "I have business to conduct with Mr. Mobius here. I will count down to one take your men with you and leave, or I will make you pay "You and what army?"
SW Then, lustfully ogling at Silverbell, Mickus flashed a sleazy smile as he continued. "Naturally, I will also be needing the mighty chief of the Martial Alliance to show me a good time… or the elders will know about this by tomorrow."
Silverbell certainly knew what he wanted, and she glowered as she snapped, "You're despicable!"
"Hah!" Mickus snorted. "This is just a Ine perfectly normal deal. Also, you're only the chief of the Martial Alliance because you used your body to pleasure many bigwigs, no? Why else would someone like you get to be the chief of the Martial Alliance?"
The Girlboss Begs For Remarriage Chapter 1809-"Hah!" Mickus snorted. "This is just a perfectly normal deal. Also, you're only the chief of the Martial Alliance because you used your body to pleasure many bigwigs, no? Why else would someone like you get to be the chief of the Martial Alliance?"
While Mickus' mockery left Silverbell bristling, Frank remained impassive as he held up three fingers and counted. "Three."
"What, are you for real?"
Mickus was actually surprised that Frank was counting down but soon snorted in contempt. "I pity you, having a whore as a fiancee. Who knows how many men she's had to spread her legs for "
Smack!
Frank had suddenly slapped Mickus across the face so quickly he could barely see it, shutting him up.
"One." He counted at the same time amid the ensuing silence.
"What…"
Touching his burning cheek, Mickus' expression alternated from disbelief to flushed fury.
"You… hit me?! With that dirty paw of yours?! Don't you know who I am?! Even my father has never slapped me!"
He bellowed as if crazed, pointing at Frank while shouting at the Clear Winds Pavilion apprentices behind him, "Don't just stand there! Take him down! I will cut him into tiny pieces! Go!!!"
At his order, every Clear Winds Pavilion apprentice turned their sights on Frank and charged toward him.
"Watch out!" Silverbell cried.
She knew how strong Frank was, but she could not stop herself from getting worried as he was being attacked by so many sect apprentices.
"What a loser…" Frank muttered under his breath, his impassive visage now cold as he looked up. "Since you're so eager to get it from me won't mind playing along!" With that, he leapt toward the Clear Winds Pavilion apprentices, moving so quickly that he was a blur that none could keep up with.
Screams ensued as Frank appeared one moment and disappeared the next.
Even Mickus' expression stiffened as he watched the Clear Winds Pavilion apprentices being floored rapidly.
Some were squealing and holding their broken arms, while others were gushing blood from their noses after having their faces punched in, and there was even one clutching his groin and rolling around in agony. Either way, in just a minute, none of the pompous apprentices who encircled Frank were still standing.
Frank glowered as he watched them lay around the floor, screaming and howling, before looking up at a blinking Mickus from afar. "N-No way!"
Mickus could not believe it—these were his sect's elites, and he knew very well how strong they were!
His father had sent them to him in hopes that they could curry Silverbell's favor with the usual trick of having a hero swooping in to save the day.
But instead of doing that, these elite. apprentices were all floored in under a minute, and by Silverbell's fiance who had appeared out of nowhere at that! It was certainly shocking, as even his father, the current chief of Clear Winds Pavilion, was not that strong!
As Mickus stood motionless, his whole body went rigid and he sweated all over his brow.
It was only then that he realized Frank was holding back during their handshake yesterday, just to let him have a way out.
If Frank had wanted to, he could have crushed Mickus' hand right then and there!
The Girlboss Begs For Remarriage Chapter 1810-Watching as Frank slowly walked toward himself, terror struck Mickus' heart.
"Stop! Don't move!" he shrieked. "I-I'm warning you… I'm the heir to Clear Winds Pavilion! If you lay a finger on me, my father will make you pay, you hear?! He's Ascendant rank, and he "
Smack!
Naturally, Mickus' threat was pointless as Frank slapped him viciously across the face again once he got near, knocking out almost every tooth.
"On your knees. Apologize," he growled, impassive.
Mickus was left clutching his cheek and staring at Frank in disbelief.
Although there was no emotion on his face, the coldness in Frank's eyes left Mickus shivering.
He realized that Frank might be some novice who did not care about his threats and would keep hitting him if he threatened him again.
After fighting with himself inwardly, Mickus turned with a conflicted look toward Silverbell, mumbling through his lips, "I-I'm sorry, Lady Silverbell—"
"On your knees!" Frank snapped coldly behind him.
"What…"
Mickus felt thoroughly dehumanized.
He was the heir to Clear Winds Pavilion-even if he did not rule Bralog, he was a big deal, with screaming fangirls following him wherever he went. Many rich families would fawn over him and introduce their daughters just to curry favor with Clear Winds Pavilion.
And now, he had to kneel to a woman!
Unacceptable!
He was even planning to have the noble chief of the Martial Alliance to go down on her knees and show him a good time.
The difference between fantasy and reality certainly left him devastated!
"Stop!"
That was when a rich voice suddenly bellowed from the restaurant entrance.
Mickus' look of misery quickly turned to delight when he turned toward the voice and saw the one man he wanted to see at that very moment.
It was none other than his father, Azar Salor, chief of Clear Winds Pavilion.
"Dad… Dad!!!" Mickus cried, finally finding a savior.
། He rushed toward Azar without a care, immediately hugging his thigh and bawling, "Dad! That bastard slapped me and even forced me to kneel! You have to help me!" Azar had come when he heard that there was trouble and was left incensed when he saw his son's face covered in blood.
He was over fifty but appeared to be around his forties, thanks to his martial arts training.
Moreover, he was not just highly protective of his people, but he also had a VIP here with him.
"Incompetent brat!" Azar bellowed. "I had our elites protect you! How could you let some brat do this to you?!"
"Dad!"
Mickus appeared wounded as he pointed at the martial elites who tay scattered around the floor. "I'm not incompetent… even those martial elites couldn't beat Frank Lawrence!"
