The Pinnacle of Life Chapter 331

To kill the little demon on the spot, all he needed was the Thunder Palm Mantra.

Alex Rockefeller changed his mind after seeing the insignia since he wanted to find out who was behind the old lady’s possession.

Whoosh!

He muttered an incantation to immobilize the little demon and used a red thread found in the bedroom and tied it up into a knot. Also known as a Red Shackle, it was an extremely effective move to encase supernatural beings.

It was a bizarre sight for Wallace Yoke and Jim Sabinsky, as the little demon, as tall as a four year old kid, shrunk rapidly and vanished into a tiny red knot.

Alex then fastened the knot on his belt.

Both the mentor and his mentee were shocked.

“You… Captured the… The demon?” Jim stammered and looked at Alex in awe.

Alex nodded. “I will deal with it later.”

In actual fact, he wanted to look for the little demon’s owner after nightfall.

Wallace suddenly looked at Alex with a twinkle in his eyes and eagerly asked, “Mr. Rockefeller, are you perhaps the apostle of Dazzle, the Spirit Doctor?”

Jim quickly asked, “Who is Dazzle?”

“Traditional medicine, profound and all encompassing, has a history going back thousands of years. Within its vast realm lies several disciplines, one of which is Medicine Doctor, widely practiced by medical practitioners nationwide, including us, not forgetting the rest, Wraith Doctor, Beast Doctor, Witch Doctor, and the ever mysterious Spirit Doctor.”

“Your master was known as the Human Hades, but only the apostles of Dazzle, the Spirit Doctor, can actually raise the dead.”

Jim had never heard of such a thing and was shocked to learn of them.

“You are a walking encyclopedia, Doctor Yoke!” Alex smiled.

Wallace shook his head and laughed in a self deprecating manner. “I just happened to live a little longer and have seen a little more things. Yet, I am nowhere near you in terms of healing abilities.”

Alex realized what Wallace meant.

As the most reputable and prestigious doctor in the nation, his title of the Imperial Doctor attracted plenty of patients. However, since patients with regular illnesses and diseases need not trouble him, most that came were inflicted with difficult, and in some cases, untreatable ailments.

Such as the old lady right here.

Obviously, he had seen supernatural happenings before, but those were way out of his realm of expertise. Eventually, a shaman or a clairvoyant had to be called upon to perform exorcisms. However, they were still no match for the rumored Dazzle.

Suddenly, Wallace dropped onto his knees and bowed to Alex.

Jim jumped up in shock. “What are you doing, master?!”

Ignoring him, Wallace said in reverence, “It is my absolute honor to meet you, oh Immortal Doctor!”

Alex, too was taken by surprise.

“You don’t have to do this, Doctor Yoke!” He quickly said as he helped Wallace onto his feet.

Jim was unconvinced. “That’s right, master. So what if he is an apostle of Dazzle? You are the Imperial Doctor. What did he do that you stooped so low?”

Wallace sent his hand flying, giving Jim a good hard slap on the face.

“You insolent fool! The apostle of Dazzle, the Witch Doctor, is the king of traditional medicine, also known as the Immortal Doctor. The Immortal Doctor can never be disrespected. Consider yourself lucky that I only gave you a slap!”

Jim clutched his face and looked on in horror.

The Pinnacle of Life Chapter 332

Alex Rockefeller shook his head and smiled. “Doctor Yoke, these are nothing but obsolete facts now. I met an expert from Switzerland yesterday claiming that our traditional medicine is a joke and cannot be compared to the Korean art of healing.”

“Lies! Lies! They derived their knowledge from our expertise. How dare they claim to be the better of the two?” Wallace York exclaimed in anger.

Jim Sabinsky chimed in, “They actually applied for heritage status too and claimed that our knowledge originated from them.”

“Damn! What a load of nonsense!” Riled up, Wallace was about to give Jim the boot.

It was a shocking sight to see Wallace, an elderly man, cursing and swearing in a sudden outburst.

“It has been centuries since we saw the existence of Dazzle’ s apostles. Now that you are here, we need everyone to know of the arrival of one of Dazzle’s apostles!” Wallace continued, “And as a follower of the Witch Doctor, I pay my respects to the Immortal Doctor.”

And he lowered his body to kneel once again.

Taken aback by surprise, Alex hurriedly said, “Please hold it, Mr. Yoke! I am only a young man, and by calling myself the Immortal Doctor, I risk attracting unwanted attention and derision. As a doctor, my calling is to save and heal the people. I do not want any titles nor accolades.”

Wallace thought for a moment and sighed.

Alex was right. It was too early to reveal his capabilities. Yet, he believed the day to do so was near.

“Anyway, let us check on the old lady,” said Alex.

Upon the removal of the little demon, the old lady’s condition stabilized as the drain on her life force stopped. The damage, however, was done, and she was still in a critical and weakened state.

With Alex’s Chi, he could only do so much. The old lady needed medicinal aid until she was nursed back to health.

“Why don’t you prepare a prescription for the old lady, Jim? Let me see if you have improved,” said Wallace.

“Sure!” Jim quickly stole a glance at Alex.

He was very confident in his abilities as a doctor. No matter how great Alex was, he was only a man in his twenties. The comprehension of traditional medicine could only come via experience and time, particularly the knowledge in prescriptions.

Jim would be thirty-one this year and had dabbled in the trade since he was a young boy. It had been fifteen years since he started studying under Wallace.

Therefore, he was convinced that Alex could not match his prowess in prescribing medicine.

After racking his brain to come up with a prescription, Jim gave it to Wallace. The old man frowned slightly and removed the medication before handing it over to Alex.

‘Don’t tell me he knows how to prescribe traditional medicine and can do better than the master?’

Immediately, Alex pulled out his pen and scribbled something on the piece of paper.

When Jim saw the prescription, he immediately felt a deep sense of satisfaction.

Just like solving a mathematical problem, one could spend a long time racking one’s brain only to get stuck in the end. Yet, if a hint was given, the solution would immediately present itself.

That was exactly how Jim felt. He was now convinced of Alex’s abilities and had nothing but absolute respect for the younger man.

After that, both Wallace and Jim left, while Hailey Lawson remained in the house to care for the old lady.

Alex left the villa but did not go far.

He found the presence controlling the little demon coming out of another villa two hundred meters away. As darkness dawned upon them, he entered the compound stealthily.

Climbing up to the second floor, he peeped into the window and almost missed a step.

For he saw a young lady doing yoga, dressed in form fitting clothes that accentuated her perfect figure.

A stunning woman with flawless facial features… She was… Wait a minute… She was Daya, one of the most famous celebrities right now!

As Alex’s gaze fixated on her, an angry voice came from below. “Who are you? Get down now!”

Too engrossed with the sight, Alex Rockefeller did not realize that others had arrived. He looked down and saw three women, all dressed in black.

Their expressions were definitely filled with anger as they glared at him. More importantly, these women were fighters, with the strongest one of Advanced-Royal rank. The other two were of Intermediate-Royal rank, at the very least.

“Oh my! I wonder why Daya needed such powerful people to be her bodyguards?”

Just as a confused Alex tried to make sense of the situation, Daya, who overheard the commotion, leaped from her lying position on the yoga mat. She looked around and saw Alex right outside her window. She was shocked, but Alex quickly discovered that she had indeed something to do with the little demon.

‘Weird. What could’ve happened between a popular celebrity like her and an old lady?’

Seeing Alex’s inaction and his continuous staring into the window, the women below became enraged. The Advanced-Royal ranked one stomped her feet, and leaped up.

She stepped on the walls and thrust herself upward, attempting to grab Alex by his collar.

In turn, Alex grunted and jumped off the window.

The instance he landed, the rest of the women surrounded him with tasers in their hands. The other woman quickly jumped down and did a front flip before landing gracefully on the ground.

“Hmph, how dare you sneak a peek on Lady Daya?” She looked at him furiously as if she wanted to tear him up alive.

After all, being Daya’s personal bodyguards, they were responsible for her safety and privacy. It would be their fault now that someone was able to break in and threaten her safety.

With a taser baton in her hand, she charged toward Alex.

“Stop it!” Daya yelled, walking out of the villa with a coat on. Even though she had stopped her bodyguards from harming Alex, she still looked at him with intense disdain and loathing.

“I am so sorry, my lady, it was our fault that he managed to enter the compound. Did he see anything?” asked Advanced-Royal ranked woman.

It was perfectly reasonable that Daya was outraged at what just happened. After all, a peeping tom had seen everything. What if he took pictures and posted them on the internet? That would be the end of her career.

“Hmph!” She grunted. “Delete all the pictures he took from his phone!”

“You heard that?” The female bodyguard hit him with her taser. “Give me your phone now, or I will break your leg!”

Alex stood still, perplexed for a moment, before realizing that Daya must have considered him paparazzi. He shook his head and said, “Miss Daya, I did not take any pictures of you.”

Daya looked at him coldly.

She despised paparazzi the most, where they invaded her privacy and spread unfounded rumors. Just a while ago, a bunch of paparazzi captured pictures of her having dinner with a male friend. Quickly publishing the pictures, they wrote that she was partying in the hotel instead.

Even though the paparazzi apologized publicly after that, the damage had been done. Daya had to deal with the repercussions of negative press and a dwindling reputation.

The female bodyguard snickered. “Every paparazzi we caught said the same thing. Do you think we will believe you? If you do not cooperate on a count of three, do not blame us for what will come.”

“One…”

“Two…”

Alex Rockefeller shook his head.

“Three! Get him!”

Another bodyguard jammed the baton onto Alex’s arm. This wasn’t the first time it happened; Daya’s immense fame had attracted quite a few unscrupulous characters.

Yet, it was the same outcome. One taste of the taser was all that was needed to teach these stalkers a lesson they would never forget.

A moment passed, and instantly she felt something was amiss, Alex seemed not to be affected by the taser. She tried a few more times, but nothing changed.

“This can’t be, I charged it just this morning!” she muttered under her breath.

“Why don’t you find it out yourself?” Alex said calmly and grabbed the baton off her hand before striking her with it.

“Arghhh!!!” The female bodyguard screamed in pain as her body trembled uncontrollably.

The other two returned to their senses, quickly realizing that Alex wasn’t a regular paparazzi.

One of them threw a punch at Alex while calling out to Daya, “Run! My lady, run!”

Daya opened her eyes wide in shock, only to see Alex calmly intercepting the punch from her bodyguard.

Autumn was her name, and being of Advanced-Royal rank, Daya knew just how powerful she was. Yet, Alex did not seem at all troubled by her blows and attacks. Evidently, he was the stronger one among the two.

Alex manipulated his Chi, and immediately, Autumn was forced to take a few steps back. An immense force was inflicted onto her tendons and ligaments, and with the ensuing pain, her arm became immobilized.

The other bodyguard did not even get to join the fight as she was sent flying by Alex’s kick.

“Run, my lady! Run!” they screamed.

Finally, Daya snapped out of her stupor and turned around to flee.

Unfortunately, she stepped on a baton lying on the ground and, with a shriek, collapsed like a matchstick in the wind.

“Where are you trying to run to, Miss Daya?” Alex stooped down and looked at the celebrity.

It was a rather interesting situation for him to be in, being in such close contact with a beautiful lady seen only on television.

Getting on her feet, Autumn charged toward Alex yet again.

This time, Alex smacked her right on the chest. The next thing she knew, she was hurling through the air, crashing on the ground 12 meters away. She spat out blood in pain.

Daya twisted her ankle, and through tears of pain, she looked at Alex. “Who are you?”

“I am not paparazzi,” he replied.

“She is the daughter of Michigan’s Stoermer family. Do not forget what will befall you and your loved ones if you touch her.”

“Stoermer family of Michigan?”

Alex was a little surprised.

Just as Autumn thought that Alex would be terrified of the name Stoermer, he shook his head. “Nah, I have never heard of them. Are they famous? What would you do if I did touch her?” he said, instantly extendng his hand toward Daya.

The women screamed in horror.

A refined maiden, Daya never had any intimate interactions with the opposite sex. Even her hands were off limits to pretty much most people.

Alex Rockefeller’s actions were horrendous, to say the least.

If the fans knew about it, she was done for.

Daya was terrified. She lay on the ground frozen as she watched Alex’s hand reach forward to touch her body.

Whoosh!

Alex grabbed onto a jade necklace and yanked it free from her neck.

‘Hold on. He only wanted the necklace?’

Daya could not wrap her head around Alex’s actions. He kept staring at the jade necklace without any further action. She was puzzled but dared say nothing in case she provoked him again.

“Who would’ve thought that the famous Daya, a professional songstress, would excel equally well in raising demons?” Alex quickly shoved the necklace into his pocket.

“What happened between you and Carter’s old lady?” he asked.

Daya instantly fumed upon Alex’s question. “You came for the pervert?”

Meanwhile, Autumn’s face spelled fully of disgust. “I have no respect for you, a fighter who willingly became the subordinate of that shameless jerk!”

“I am not anyone’s subordinate, especially not the Carters,” Alex frowned.

“Look at you trying to wiggle your way out of your misdeeds! Why did you come then? To peek on my lady just like he did? You men are all the same!” retorted Autumn.

“I did not come for Zack Carter, but his wife. Daya, what exactly did you do to Mrs. Carter?” Alex said calmly.

Daya shook her head. “I don’t know a Mrs. Carter.”

“The jade necklace is the best evidence here. You used the little demon to hurt Mrs. Carter, almost ending her life. Nobody would’ve known, right? Unfortunately, I did!” Alex sneered. “Are you trying to tell me that this jade necklace was a mere accidental find moments ago?”

Daya stared at the necklace in shock “Are you saying I harmed Mrs. Carter with the necklace? I think you’ve been mistaken. I do not know Mrs. Carter, and I do not know how to rear demons. This necklace was a gift given to me by my grandfather.”

Alex stared at her for a good three seconds before suddenly grabbing her wrist.

“Ahhh! What are you trying to do?” Daya screamed, her eyes filled with terror.

Once he checked her pulse and her energy core, he quickly loosened his grasp. Nonetheless, he could not find any malicious intent in her. Obviously, she was telling the truth. It meant that the jade necklace was the culprit.

Alex removed the red knot from his belt and released the little demon.

It lost its reasoning, but Alex temporarily restored some sense into it to garner some information. Of course, the jade necklace played a role.

Daya and her bodyguards looked at Alex like they were observing a lunatic, messing around and talking to the air every few minutes. The truth had eventually unfolded itself.

The Pinnacle of Life Chapter 336

It turned out the little demon had nothing to do with the jade necklace.

It was the son of a construction worker. A few years ago, he came here with his mother to visit his father, who was working on the construction of Golden Manor.

Unfortunately, he lost his life when he fell into a well. His soul had remained here ever since.

Some time ago, the soul stumbled upon Zack Carter and had become attracted to a malicious aura emanating from his body. With the bracelet, the little demon could not get too close to Zack, so instead, it went to the old lady.

“It was an accident!”

Alex finally cleared up the misunderstanding. He looked at Daya apologetically.

She stood up, frowning.

“I am so sorry, Miss Daya. It was all a misunderstanding. You did nothing to Mrs. Carter, and oh, I am returning your necklace too.” Alex handed the jade necklace over to Daya.

“Is that all?” Autumn was furious since she had received a few blows from Alex just moments ago. “Miss Daya twisted her ankle all thanks to you! She has a concert in two days! What is she going to do, huh? What can you do?”

“Oh, a concert?”

Alex looked at her feet and noticed the swollen ankle. Indeed, it would affect her performance under normal circumstances.

“I almost forgot to introduce myself, Miss Daya. I, too, am a doctor.”

Under the skeptical eyes of the ladies, Alex bent down, lifted Daya’s injured leg, and gently pressed the injured spot with his finger.

Daya was horrified. Her feet were one of her body’s most private and sensitive spots, and she would never let an unknown man touch them. Blushing ferociously, she struggled to break free but was met with no success.

“Let go of her, you jerk!” The female bodyguards were infuriated.

“What if I refuse? There is nothing you can do!” Alex said calmly and placed his palm on Daya’s knee.

He pressed down and gently massaged her knee. The act made it seem like he was trying to molest the celebrity.

Bellowing, Autumn landed a punch on Alex.

Alex, on the other hand, did not dodge with his body’s Chi protecting him from the blow. Instead, Autumn was sent tumbling backward with numb arms and a pale face.

“How… How is this possible?” They looked on in astonishment.

Alex then released his hold on Daya’s leg. “Your ankle is healed, and so are your knees. As an apology, I fixed your chronic knee pain.”

Shocked, Daya walked around and did a jump. Weird! The shooting pain in her ankle was gone, while the tingling discomfort in her knees was nowhere felt as well.

It was nothing short of a miracle.

Yet, she seemed unhappy, groaning, “I will not thank you. You were at fault for peeking at me, hurting my bodyguards, and wrongly accusing me. You were obliged to do this.”

Alex replied, “You were innocent, but Mrs. Carter almost died thanks to your jade necklace. I could sense the evil in it. For the sake of everyone’s safety, try not to wear it anymore.”

It seemed to him that the jade necklace was a charm of sorts.

Previously, Zack had malicious intent toward Daya, causing the necklace to retaliate by placing a malevolent aura on him. Unfortunately, he had the bracelet on, one that protected him from harm.

At that moment, Alex’s phone rang. Hailey Lawson was on the other end of the line.

Her frantic voice came through, as she yelled, “Save me, Alex! Zack Carter drugged me…”

“Oh my god!”

Alex Rockefeller found himself boiling in rage. He had never heard of something so absurd and preposterous happeningin his life.

Hailey Lawson shrieked before she could even finish her sentence.

Zack Carter’s voice came over the line. “Heh. You feeling alright, Hailey? Come here, come to daddy…”

And then, the phone call abruptly ended.

‘Old b*stard!’

Knowing Hailey was in grave danger, Alex wasted not a second more. He slammed his foot on the throttle and sped toward the Carter residence in his car.

The drug’s in Hailey’s body started taking effect. Her body warmed up, and she started losing consciousness.

She got into the car and attempted to flee, but under her drugged consciousness, she found it extremely difficult even to start the car. Moments later, she was yanked out by Zack.

“No, no! Stop it! I am Charles’s wife! You can’t do this! I beg you… please!”

Zack’s bloodshot eyes greedily skewered themselves into Hailey. He had also become unusually strong.

Like a hungry predator who had its eyes set on its prey, Zack pushed Hailey onto the ground and snickered, “I’ve always liked you, Hailey, ever since you married my son.”

Drooling profusely, he tried to rip the dress off Hailey’s body.

Hailey struggled hard, desperately trying to break free from Zack. Alas, he was right on top of her.

That was it, she thought, that was the end. Even though she managed to call Alex, there was nothing he could do, that was if he could arrive in time. It was even worse for Charles Carter, now miles away from her.

‘What’s there left for me to live if this old b*stard gets his way?’

Suddenly, a foot soared through the air and kicked Zack several meters away.

Alex had arrived in the nick of time!

He was infuriated but breathed a sigh of relief upon seeing that Hailey hadn’t yet been defiled. Yet, her current state tugged on Alex’s heartstrings.

Zack got onto his feet and charged toward Alex.

“It was you! I knew it! I knew you and Hailey were having a fling! She is mine! Nobody else can get her!”

“I will kill you!”

Zack came onto him like a frenzied beast.

Alex frowned, realizing that something wasn’t right. The kick he sent was unleashed in a fury, and any ordinary person on the receiving end would have collapsed in an instant. Yet Zack seemed unaffected.

‘Wait a minute. I think I know why!’

He saw right through the issue, considering how strangely Zack was behaving.

As Hailey’s father-in-law, an average person in his shoes would have fervently denied their involvement and tried to cover things up. However, he kept shouting as if he wanted everyone to know what he was trying to do.

Definitely not the normal response.

‘Something’s wrong, and I think it’s coming from the bracelet,” Alex finally noticed.

At the same time, Zack charged at him. His face was twisted in rage, and he sent a punch flying at Alex’s face, a blow charged with unexplained energy.

Alex intercepted the blow with his fist.

After an explosion of energy, he felt an uncontained stream of energy flowing right up his arm.

He was knocked back!

Alex Rockefeller himself was shocked. With his current ability, not even a Mystic fighter could easily defeat him.

As for Zack Carter, he was only a regular old man fortunate enough to possess the mysterious bracelet, along with the energy it radiated. And that was what knocked Alex back.

Fortunately, he had the Force’s healing Chi to thank, protecting his internal organs from damage by springing into action upon impact..

After the first exchange, Zack was even more violent than before, charging at Alex again with all cylinders firing.

Alex quickly activated Mystic Armor, shielding himself from Zack’s endless blows. By the seventh punch, the Mystic Armor had been forcefully shattered, with Alex spitting out a mouthful of blood.

The bracelet was too powerful. For the first time ever, Alex found himself in a dire situation.

‘Screw it!’

Using the blood he spat, he forged a magical seal and launched it over Zack’s body.

As the seal closed in on Zack, Alex swiftly chanted the Thunder Palm Mantra.

Boom!

The attacks broke the shield on Zack’s body as Alex yanked the bracelet away from him.

Without the bracelet’s protection, Zack got instantly knocked out by Alex.

Alex caught the mysterious bead in the bracelet as he sealed it with his blood.

Phew!

He heaved a sigh of relief as he wiped the blood off the corners of his mouth.

Out of nowhere, Hailey Lawson lunged at Alex and wrapped her hand around his body, sealing his lips with hers in a fiery outburst of lust.

‘Crap!’

Alex was caught by surprise, pushing her away almost instantly.

It was at that moment that he found himself almost losing control of his lust.

Whack!

He hit Hailey on the neck and knocked her out.

Shoving her into the car, he was just about to leave the compound when he remembered the presence of closed-circuit television cameras around the residence. He would be unable to defend himself if Zack found the recordings and edited them before sending them Charles Carter’s way.

He checked the recordings and found that the cameras had been turned-off by Zack. Of course, he didn’t want them to capture what he was about to do to Hailey.

‘I wonder if he behaved this way because of the bracelet?’ Alex stole a glance at the unconscious Zack and pulled him into the villa. He then left the place in Hailey’s car.

‘Where can I go now?’

‘Hmm, Dorothy has the keys to Maple Villa. I don’t think I should be heading there.’

‘A hotel?’

‘You know what, screw it. I’ll do it right here in the car.’

Alex found an isolated spot and parked the car. He climbed into the back seat and quickly focused his Chi onto Hailey’s body, intending to cleanse the drug from her system. Hailey suddenly woke up, pushing Alex down into the bench.

The Pinnacle of Life Chapter 339

The drug in Hailey Lawson’s body began to take effect as her face flushed a bright red. She lost all reasoning and began muttering incoherently while tugging on her clothes, as though she was trying to rip them apart.

Alex Rockefeller was taken entirely by surprise and heard a little voice in the back of his mind urging him to take advantage of the assertive beauty.

But he wasn’t going to do it.

He bit his tongue and used the pain to jolt himself free from the shackles of lust while shoving Hailey away, pinning her down onto the seat.

She laid halfway on the seat, gazing seductively at Alex. ‘What drug did she take exactly?’

Alex was pissed at Zack Carter for doing something so immoral. Realizing that Hailey was only going to be more obscene, Alex knocked her out, just in case he lost control.

He breathed a sigh of relief and began the procedure to cleanse her body.

Regrettably, Zack seemed to have fed Hailey too much of the aphrodisiac. It took Alex a full half-hour to remove every last trace of the drug in her system.

It did not take too long before Hailey regained consciousness.

She felt strange upon waking up and was shocked to see Alex right next to her. “What did you do to me!”

“Relax, Hailey, I only cleansed your body of the drug.” Alex shook his head.

Hailey burst into tears, wailing, “I cannot believe this is how you cleansed my body! Look at what you’ve done. I can never live in peace anymore!”

She curled up and began to cry. She might’ve just misunderstood the situation.

Alex quickly explained, “Don’t worry, Hailey, Zack Carter did nothing to you!”

“But you did!” Hailey kicked him in the shin.

Alex was taken aback. “You are mistaken, Hailey. I did not do anything out of line! Look, I recorded the process. Let me pull it for you.”

“Wait a minute. You captured everything on video?!”

Feeling even worse now, Hailey was completely mortified.

Fortunately, Alex thought ahead of proving his innocence by recording the cleansing process. Otherwise, things would have been different.

After watching the video, Hailey breathed a long sigh of relief. She was indeed mistaken. She quickly patted Alex on the cheek and complained, “I can’t believe you were able to keep yourself in line! Are you even a man?” After calming down, she began to question her femininity and attractiveness.

Alex looked at her wide eyed. Were all women such ironic creatures?

After a half-hour long bath, Hailey came out of the shower in a rather short bathrobe, exposing her pearly white calves for all to see. She wiped down her hair with a towel as she walked into the living room.

Alex sat on the couch, fully immersing himself in a feast for his eyes.

It seemed that her title as the prettiest lady in the village was genuine. No wonder Zack fell head over heels for her.

“If there is no thing else, I will take my leave.” Alex felt unsafe in this situation, a situation where anything could happen between a man and woman, all alone in a room.

“I thought you didn’t have the keys to your house?”

Hailey was back to her usual self as she took out a bottle of wine and two glasses from the dresser.

“Why don’t we have a drink together?”

Alex Rockefeller was immediately reminded of the night where they found each other sleeping together on the same bed, drunk. But then again, a glass of wine shouldn’t be of any harm.

“What do you plan to do? Call the police on Zack Carter?” asked Alex.

“The police?” Hailey Lawson took a big gulp of wine and shook her head. “If this goes public, I will be blamed instead. He is nothing but an old pervert, insignificant and negligible.”

Alex thought about it and nodded.

Alex did not meet Dorothy Assex. Instead, he gave her a call. It wasn’t the right time to be seeing her, especially with Claire Assex incessantly hovering around.

“I will come tomorrow since it’s a weekend,” said Alex.

“Hold on. I have your keys here. Will you be able to enter the house?” Dorothy asked.

“Of course, I have a spare set. Anyway, it is getting late. Good night!”

Alex did not actually have a spare set of keys. He was in a hurry when he left and hadn’t the time to put an extra set in his pocket. But then again, with his abilities, getting into the villa was nothing but a breeze.

Stepping into the cold shower, he washed away thoughts of Hailey, then cooked up a good meal to end the day on a positive note.

While eating, he took out the head from Zack’s bracelet, looking at it intently.

There were no holes on the bead as it was covered in a thick shell, which also acted as a chain to connect all the other beads in the bracelet. Pinching it lightly, he broke the shell, exposing the bead in its actual form.

It was hollow and of bright red color, enveloped by a mysterious energy. It prevented Alex from getting a clearer look into the bead’s details.

He thought for a moment, then set down the cutlery before breaking the seal on the bead. Instantly, energy rushed into his body, and his Chi was activated, catapulting it to levels never felt before.

Alex was pleased. With the bead’s help, his understanding of the Force would increase at great speed. He looked into the bead and found a magical scene, where golden runic scriptures danced around before his eyes.

There was something else in the center, but he could not see what it was, however hard he tried.

What he did not know was that the blanketing energy from the bead was magnifying a desire in his mind. The scene of Hailey acting up due to the effect of the aphrodisiac kept playing in his head as his lust edged ever so close to the tipping point.

Without realizing it, he left his villa and went to Hailey’s.
