Alex lifted his head and looked toward Hailey’s room. His eyes were blood-red, just like Zack Carter from before.

At this very moment, it was as if he could see exactly what Hailey was doing in her room and even feel her emotions. An expression of primitive carnal desire soon surfaced on his face.

Meanwhile, Hailey, who was still in her room, had no idea that such grave danger was approaching from downstairs.

Alex smirked, he was ready to jump up to the second floor and barge into Hailey’s room, just so he could spend the night with her. Just then, a hidden weapon violently pierced through air of the silent night, flying toward Alex’s chest.

Unguarded, Alex, whose mind was solely focused on Hailey, was instantly pierced by the hidden weapon, it was a ninja star!

However, the ninja star only penetrated his skin for less than half an inch. The Chi stimulated within his body blocked the attack from going any further.

This sudden attack had sobered Alex a little.

He turned around immediately and scanned his surroundings with his blood-red eyes. He actually could see everything as clear as day, despite the darkness.

It was ninjas!

“Attack!” Five ninjas appeared out of nowhere. As soon as they witnessed the hidden weapon had hit the target, they rushed out joyously and started throwing all kinds of hidden weapons at Alex.

One of them reminded the others, “Careful, we need him alive.”

However, Alex couldn’t understand Japanese at all.

He was now sweating cold bullets out of shock. It was not because of the ambush by the few ninjas, but due to the blood-red bead.

After snapping back to reality, he realized that he had almost ended up like Zack, he almost did the worst possible thing that he could do to Hailey. This bead may be blessed with magnificent holy energy, but there was a slight hint of evil within. This evil energy could affect one’s emotions and amplify his lustful desires. Under the control of such energy, one would be driven to do things that were beyond his control.

Hence, at this moment, Alex paid no attention to the ninjas, but he bit down on his tongue instead.

A mouthful of blood was spat on the blood-red bead.

“With blood as a medium, seal off the blood malediction!”

Alex couldn’t care less about the ninjas’ attacks, he only put up his Mystic Armor and purely focused on sealing the bead’s energy. With his current ability of his foundation establishment, he couldn’t understand the energy within this bead at all. Without proper training, he would be easily affected by the evil energy. Therefore, his safest bet now was to seal up the energy.

“Ding ding ding…”

At this moment, the five ninjas were in complete shock They only saw their ninja stars and hidden weapons were blocked by the Mystic Armor as soon as they had reached Alex’s body. A layer of faint yellow light surrounded his body, causing the weapons to bounce off.

“What is this type of martial arts?”

“Could this be the Steel Cloth of the golden era? Or is this the Golden Shield?”

The ninjas were demotivated. However, one of them was fired up, his eyes were burning with enthusiasm.

“I think he’s just strong in defense, he doesn’t seem to know how to attack at all. Use the rope darts!” The leader of the ninjas said.

At this moment, they completely abandoned the strengths of their ninja tactics, they knew that concealment and ambushing were no longer an option. So, they stood in front of Alex, exposing themselves. They were prepared to use brute force to kidnap him.

Bam! Bam! Bam!

Alex still didn’t dodge despite the rope darts being thrown at him. He had no choice, after all he couldn’t just stop the sealing process.

Five seconds later, he managed to complete the seal. Only did Alex let out a deep sigh and placed the bead into his pocket. While donning a calm expression, he turned to the five masked ninjas, who were holding onto the ropes, and said indifferently, “Thanks!”

‘What?’ The ninjas were puzzled as they thought, ‘Why is he thanking us? Is this man an idiot?’

Just then, the leader spoke in broken English, “No worries, Mr. Alex Rockefeller. Just share with us the thing that your father had left for you, and we’d be friends forever. We can give you a lot of money too.”

“The thing that my father had given me…”

Alex was about to take action, yet he changed his mind after hearing the ninja’s words.

He had no idea what they were here for. Furthermore, his mother had been reticent in sparing him any details, she seemed terrified as if she were to open Pandora‘s box, bringing him chaos and misfortune.

Even so, Alex wanted to learn the whole truth even more. He wanted to at least figure out what these ninjas were looking for.

“Yes, didn’t you say that you wanted to take down Rockefeller Group? We can be of help. You wouldn’t even need three months, one month is more than enough to achieve that. When the time comes, Rockefeller Group will be all yours,” The leader continued.

“You guys aren’t sincere at all. Why are you still wearing masks and hiding yourself when you’re here for a trade? You even tried to ambush me just a while ago.”

“Haha, it was just a small test.”

From the corner of Alex’s eyes, he could tell that Hailey, who had noticed the ruckus coming from downstairs, walked toward her window. However, her room was dim, the curtains were opened slightly a little.

Even so, with Alex’s sharp eyes, he was able to see a bit of her beautiful figure… ‘Does she think that no one’s going to notice?’ Alex thought.

“Alright, I’ve hidden the thing that you are asking for. If you want it, follow me!” Alex turned around and walked outside.

With the rope darts immobilizing Alex, they thought that their safety was guaranteed. They were not afraid even if he had any tricks up his sleeve.

In just a few moments, Alex led them directly to a nearby forest area.

“Mr. Rockefeller, we’ve walked quite a distance!” The leader said, “Why don’t you tell us where it is located first? Or else, you’d have to suffer the consequences. I would first slice your hamstrings open. If you don’t want to end up crippled, you better cooperate.”

After scanning his surroundings, he nodded. “I’m thinking the same too. So, please tell me, who assigned you to this mission? What organization are you from? What are you even looking for?”

“We’re the ones who are asking the questions here.”

“Answer mine first.”

“Baka! We should show him what it’s like to defy us!”

The five ninjas immediately tightened the rope in their hands, as if they were trying to rip his body into five pieces.

However, with just one forceful stomp from Alex, all the five ropes were instantly torn into pieces after receiving the Chi’s shock.

“Nani?!” The ninjas were shocked. That was because the ropes of the rope darts were made of processed tendon ropes. They were as thick as a thumb and wouldn’t even break from pulling an object as heavy as a car.

Relying only on his physical speed, Alex fiercely lunged forward with the speed of a devil. Alex instantly appeared in front of the leader and grabbed him by the neck, lifting him up from the ground.

“Cooperate with me if you don’t want to die!” Alex’s tone was cold as ice. “Whom do you really work for?”

“Ugh… Uh…” The leader tried struggling with all his might, yet he still failed to escape. He even tried stabbing Alex with a knife. To his demise, his attack was blocked by the Mystic Armor. Even if Alex were to stand there and let him stab with all his might, the leader wouldn’t be able to hurt Alex at all.

The leader smiled bitterly. “Unexpectedly, the thing your father obtained is so… Unworldly. Looks like our boss had assumed wrongly. But, if you want to get information out of me, then it’s…. Impossible.”

Just then, a stream of black blood flowed out of the corner of the leader’s mouth. He grimaced in extreme pain and instantly took his last breath.

Alex was appalled. He immediately threw the corpse away.

He wanted to capture the other ninjas but he didn’t expect them to scramble and kill themselves, as if they viewed their lives as insignificant as ants.

Alex thought, ‘Just what kind of terrifyingly powerful figure is behind all this?’

After being frozen in place for quite a while, Alex dialed Anna’s number. “Hey, come and Clean up some corpses.”

“Ninjas again?”

“Holy sh*t, all of them committed suicide too!”

Anna was quick to arrive at the scene. It only took her less than half an hour to show up in front of Alex.

After taking a glance at the five ninjas’ corpses, she knew that they had committed suicide.

“What grudge do the Japanese ninjas have against you?” Anna was puzzled as it was an abnormal phenomenon for the five ninjas to commit suicide simultaneously. This could only be explained if it involved some extremely hidden secrets or some sort of powerful figures.

Alex sighed. “I’d like to know that too.”

A brute woman like Anna obviously liked using brawns instead of brains. She didn’t even put much thought into it as she knew that she couldn’t understand the incident either, so she just ordered her men to clean up the corpses.

She then turned to Alex and said, “By the way, I’d like you to help me with something.”

Alex froze. “Is it related to a mission from Divine Constabulary?”

Anna replied, “Nope, but it’s quite urgent. It’s a personal favor.”

“I can refuse to help if it’s personal, right? Pray tell.”

While clenching her fists to suppress her urge of punching Alex, Anna said, “You’ve heard of Daya, right?”

‘Huh?’ Alex was stunned. ‘Not only did I hear of her, but I also literally touched her feet and ankles a while ago. I even saw her beautiful yoga movements.’

He nodded gently. “What about her?”

“She’s my friend.”

“Oh…”

“She will be having a concert in California State Stadium the day after tomorrow. But I found out that someone is trying to assassinate her during the concert”

Alex asked, “From what I know, Daya has ranked fighters as bodyguards, doesn’t she? One of them is an Advanced-Royal ranked fighter too. Even if someone were to try to harm her, wouldn’t her bodyguards be more than enough to handle the assassins?”

Anna replied, “According to my intel, the opponents might have hired foreign hitmen. Autumn may be at Advanced-Royal rank, but she wouldn’t be able to handle these hitmen.”

“I’m afraid of foreign hitmen too!”

“What are you even afraid of?!” Anna had cursed out loud. “You even forced five ninjas to commit suicide simultaneously, why would you be afraid of a few foreign hitmen? You know what, in exchange, I’ll help you to investigate the identities of these ninjas.”

“Alright, deal.”

After staying for a just brief while at the scene, Anna hurried off with the corpses.

After returning to Maple Villa, Alex hid the blood-red bead in a secret place. He knew he didn’t have the power to handle the energy of the bead as of now. He could only wait till he had the power to balance out the negative energy and prevent it from amplifying his desires. When the time came, it would be the opportunity to research the bead.

He had a feeling that a shocking secret must have been hidden within the bead.

After doing so, once again he unfastened the Red Shackle that was tied around his belt, releasing the little demon sealed within.

‘Ah, this kid is quite pitiful too. He has been bound to Earth for years and turned into an evil entity out of the blue. Since he can’t go back to his original form, I should exorcise him!’

“Dust to dust, ashes to ashes, cross the bridge and drink the water of Lethe to forget your earthly life.”

“Time is boundless, forget the past and head south on the road to the netherworld.”

“Mister!” Suddenly, the child spoke up.

“Hmrn?”

“Earlier, there was another uncle who possessed Grandma too, he then walked away with an aunty. He said that he wanted to sleep with that aunty. He’s definitely evil.”

Upon listening to this, everything started to make sense.

Thinking back, the aunt that he mentioned must be Hailey. That explained the dreams that she didn’t want to speak of.

Alex nodded and formed a seal using his hand to finish the last step of exorcism.

Witch doctors were not only able to cure spirits, they were capable of exorcising evil spirits as well.

Alex waved gently, yet a sudden gush of sadness welled inside him.

‘The child died in vain at such a young age, his parents must have felt way sadder,’ he thought.

The night passed by quickly.

In the next morning, Alex was in the basement again to concoct a cauldron of Blood Energy Pills. This was the last of his medicinal herbs as well, he could only concoct a cauldron of thirteen pills. He did not have enough materials for further concoctions!

Without the help of the divine energy that was given by his ancestor, he could tell that his cultivation speed was decreasing significantly. So, he had to think of a way to improve this.

He drove up to Assex Villa at 10:30 am.

Never did Alex expect that Adrianna and her family still had not left the villa, there were even two cops at the scene.

Puzzled, Alex made eye contact with Dorothy.

Alex understood the situation immediately as soon as Dorothy pouted her lips in Sharpay’s direction. The family had reported to the police on the incident of Sharpay’s ex-boyfriend scamming them two million dollars.

“Based on our investigation, this Josh Washington you speak of, used a fake name.”

“His real name is Antonio Usoro, a professional scammer. He had used the same modus operandi and successfully scammed eight other women. Not only did he manipulate them to sleep with him, he had also scammed them of large sums of money, with more than thirty million dollars in total.”

Upon listening to this, Adrianna got up to her feet immediately. “That’s right! It must be you! You have scammed two million dollars from us. Give it back, give it back to us now!”

Alex was really speechless. “Have all of you gone crazy?”

Of course, Dorothy backed Alex up. “Aunty, you guys are unreasonable.”

Sharpay rushed over to grab Alex by the collar. “Unreasonable? He did it, he must’ve been the one who did it! He must have hated us Bardots since I was the one who humiliated him in Grandpa’s birthday banquet last time. That’s why he wanted to seek revenge, he asked Josh to set me up! This pest must be behind all this!”

Without hesitation, Alex slapped Sharpay hard across the face. Her face was even more reddened from the slap.

Adrianna and Taylor were stunned, they were ready to fight Alex with all their might.

As Adrianna continued to pester him incessantly like a maniac, Alex grabbed and lifted her up. “I may respect you as family and call you Aunty, but don’t you dare test my boundaries time after time. All of you are no different than those small fries to me. Why would I hire some random guy and put on an act to scam you for merely two million dollars? It’s a waste of my time, you know? If I really had that much time, I’d rather give my wife a pedicure.”

He then let go of Adrianna.

However, Adrianna was red-faced as she chided, “Merely two million dollars? You’re saying as if you have that sort of money! Who do you think you are? Who doesn’t know that Maple Villa 8 was never yours to begin with? Someone lent it to you to stay temporarily. Both you and your mother are just living under some one’s roof! Do you really see yourself as some rich man because of this? If you really do have such capabilities, then show us you have two million dollars! If you can do that, I’ll lick your shoe!”

As soon as she had finished speaking, someone walked into the villa, it was Felix Shepherd, the young heir of Pegasus International. He used to be that guy that Claire wanted as her ideal son-in-law.

Felix was struck with fear as he dared not let Alex pour him tea.

Adrianna felt as if her face were swollen due to the slap in the face. However, she just said that she would lick Alex’s shoes if he really had two million dollars.

Felix hurriedly smiled and said, “As I should, Mr. Rockefeller. My dad has had this on his mind for the longest time too. He told me to greet you on his behalf when we meet.”

Why was Felix in such a rush to hand him the money? This was all due to the incident during Bill Rockefeller’s funeral, it was quite a shocker to the Shepherds.

Even the patriarch of the great Yowell family in California had showed up in person just to stand up for Alex.

How much weight could his words carry?

A single sentence from the patriarch of the Yowells could crush Pegasus International and make it vanish in a puff of smoke.

If Alex were to refuse to take the money, both the Shepherd father and son would be restless for the rest of their life.

Luckily, Alex was indeed short on money now. Not only did Belle Blossom require large amounts of funds, but he needed money to procure some medicinal herbs as well.

Hence, he took the bank card without hesitation. After realizing that the password was written on the back of the card, he just shoved it into his pocket and said, “Thanks.”

While watching their interaction, Claire’s expression instantly darkened, as if she were bereaved of her parents. She felt as if someone had abruptly stolen twenty million dollars from her pockets.

“Fake, fake, this must be fake!” Adrianna suddenly screamed, “Twenty million dollars? You must be some kind of con artist that Rockefeller hired! How could this trash have twenty million dollars in his pockets?”

Felix’s expression instantly turned cold. “You’re calling me a con artist? Who are you?”

While pointing at Felix’s nose, Adrianna raised her voice and was about to chide, “Yeah, I’m calling you a con artist, take it as a compliment! You’ re nothing but a…”

Unexpectedly, Adrianna’ s voice just fell silent as Taylor, who had not uttered a word since Felix’s arrival, swung his palm and slapped her across the face.

Adrianna screamed out of anger as she didn’t expect to he slapped.

That was because he was petrified!

Taylor had started a boutique joint a while ago. The company that his boutique was joined to was Pegasus International.

He had the courtesy to meet Felix during a trainee conference back then, that was how he knew that Felix was the CEO’s son. If they were to offend him now, his joint would definitely be closed down and his whole family would have no source of income from then on.

“Apologize! Apologize to Mr. Shepherd now! Don’t you know just how noble is Mr. Shepherd’s identity? How could he be a con artist that Rockefeller tra… Alex Rockefeller hired? If Mr. Shepherd says it’s twenty million dollars, then it must be real!”

Although Adrianna didn’t care much about Taylor’s boutique, she knew that Pegasus International was owned by her husband’s boss.

Adrianna kept slapping herself as she apologized.

Felix huffed coldly. “You shouldn’t apologize to me, but to Mr. Rockefeller. I think I overheard you just said you would lick his shoe if he were to have two million dollars, right?”

‘What?’

Adrianna was shocked. Her mouth was agape, yet no words could come out. She could kneel before Felix without hesitation because of his title as the young heir of Pegasus International. In her eyes, he was a powerful figure who could dictate her family’s fate with just one decision.

However, Alex was just a mere loser in her eyes, who should be crushed under her feet. How could she bring herself to such humiliation by licking his shoe in exchange?

She just couldn’t accept this!

Just like anybody else, one could accept an irrelevant person who acted all high and mighty toward them. Yet they could never accept a relative whom they deemed trash and shunned away for the longest time, to suddenly become a being that many fell over each other to flatter.

Just then, everyone turned to look at Adrianna as they waited for her decision.

Taylor pushed away Adrianna. “You said so yourself, so you have to keep this promise. Lick it!”

Adrianna put herself in a difficult position as tears started welling up in her eyes. She stared at Alex with frustration and hatred. After a brief moment, she lowered her head. “Alright, I’ll…”

Just then, Alex interrupted her sentence and said, “Get up. You’re still Dorothy’s aunt and also my mother-in-law’s sister no matter what.”

Felix froze. Only then did he realize this woman was actually Dorothy‘s aunt. He was worried that he might have stirred up trouble, hence he hurriedly bid farewell to Alex. He had achieved his goal anyway.

After this incident, Adrianna and her family were embarrassed and dared not stay any longer. After Felix rushed off, they headed back into their car gloomily as well.

As they drove off, Alex could sense the hateful gazes coming from Adrianna and Sharpay.

However, why would Alex care about what this family thought of him?

They were just mere nobodies to him after all.

“Alex Rockefeller, the twenty million dollars are mine!”

After everyone had left, Claire immediately rushed toward Alex and tried to snatch the bank card from his pockets.

“What’s wrong with you? Don’t touch me like that!” Alex shouted as he pushed Claire away.

Dorothy spoke up, “Mom, what are you doing? That’s Alex’s money! How could you snatch it from him?”

Claire grabbed Alex as she was unwilling to let him go. “That was originally my money! It’s just that I accidentally made a crease on the check so I couldn’t cash it out! Why else would Felix come personally and hand us the money! It’s mine! It’s my money! Alex Rockefeller, I’m warning you. If you don’t give me the money, I won’t let you step foot into our home from now on!”

Dorothy was furious as she said, “Mom, how could you be like this? When Alex and I got married, you used the twenty million dollars that you had received from my mother-in-law to buy futures, yet you lost all of them! I didn’t even tell you off after knowing that! Claire angrily stomped her feet as she chided that she raised Dorothy for nothing and she rather sided with an outsider instead of her own mother.

Just then, Beatrice received a call.

“What? You got us tickets to Daya’s concert? That’s amazing! Yay!”

She jumped in excitement. Her 1.2 meter long legs looked beautiful as she danced joyously in the air.

Alex frowned after hearing her words. “You’re going to Daya’s concert?”

Beatrice pouted. “Yeah, what about it? Has it got anything to do with you? You don’t even show filial respect to my mom after getting such a large amount of money! Hmph!”

Recalling Anna’s words, he knew that Daya might be in danger during the concert due to assassins.

He tried convincing Beatrice, “You better not go to Daya’s concert.”

Beatrice huffed. “Tsk, you’re quite the control freak If you have the capabilities, control yourself for a change! Twenty million dollars wouldn’t be enough to defeat Rockefeller Group. If you couldn’t do it by then, you will drag down our family and turn us into a laughing stock too!”

She has the temperament, talents, as well as singing and acting skills! She even has a great personality and absolutely ethereal looks! How dare you say Daya is not pretty? You must be blind, or color blind!”

“Daya is a hundred times better than my sister in any aspect.”

“She’s the most popular female singer in America. She has been the No. 1 artist on the billboard music charts for three years straight!”

“She had won the best actress award at the Oscars this year too! She’s…”

Using the excuse of a massage, he would be able to help her absorb the pill better by untangling her meridians. Since he had taken initiative to offer a massage, how could Dorothy refuse it?
