Ch. 81..85: The President's Pregnant, Ex-Wife Chapter 81-85
Chapter 81: Chapter 81 – Sabrina’s forgiveness
"I just face them slowly as they come," Sabrina responded without looking at him.
"Very smart but you should not allow those men to bully you next time. You have to understand at such meetings that you are in charge," he encouraged her then he recalled his conversation with Matilda and said,
"Sabrina, I’m sorry for what happened during the dinner at the hotel. I didn’t know that Zayla had disrespected you."
Sabrina glanced at him and seeing his serious look, she gulped and responded, "Apology accepted but I should get going."
She was interested in the business part and had wanted to ask some more questions about how to handle such men but Zayla’s name ruined her mood.
"I will drop you off," Robin said and stood up when she said,
"Thanks, but my boyfriend is already on his way. I will meet him at the car park"
Robin expected to see Devin since he was the one Sabrina spoke to and tease her a little but was surprised when his intercom rang and Aria said,
"Sir, Miss Chance is here to see you."

At Robin’s penthouse
Zayla was speaking to Robin on the phone when her father’s call came through. She excused Robin and pushed everything she wanted to say about the pictures and videos she saw concerning him and Sabrina aside.
"Dad, how are you?" She asked with concern, already knowing that things were not well. Her father would only call her like this when there was a problem.
"Zayla, we lost everything. I have been arrested, and your mother left," her father announced from the end of the line.
When he told the police that he wanted to call his lawyers, his daughter was the one he called.
"What? How can she be so heartless?" Zayla was upset with her mother leaving them in a time like this but her father explained further,
"It was not her fault. She told me to move in with her into her apartment yesterday but I refused. Today after the meeting with all the investors, I could not hide the losses anymore and declared the company bankrupt. The investors called me a fraud and got me arrested, asking me to give them back their money."
"Oh dad, this is bad," Zayla shook her head since she still had not done much in making Robin hers.
Surprisingly, her father began pouring his anger on her, blaming her for everything that happened in his life.
"It’s all your fault. You have not been able to get anything from Robin for over a month now."
Zayla was already choking on tears. Even after destroying Sabrina’s marriage, things were still difficult for her. Robin took care of her but he wanted nothing to do with her father.
"I’m sorry but Robin is too difficult."
"So, are you going to let me rot in jail?" Her father asked furiously, Zayla shook a little.
"Never. I will ask Robin to come and bail you. I will go and see him at his office now. Just hang in there, dad, I will be right back," Zayla said with determination.
She rushed over to Robin’s office with the driver he gave her. Getting to the reception, Aria blocked her way and said seriously,
"Mr. Jewel told me to not let anyone in, including you."
She intentionally added the ’including you’ part, knowing how stubborn Zayla was.
"What? Me? His fiancé? Does he have someone in there?" Zayla guessed it must be Sabrina but Aria did not respond and picked the intercom,
"Sir, Miss Chance is here to see you."
Robin knew that Zayla would do anything to upset Sabrina and did not want her to come in. "Tell her to give me a few minutes," Robin said almost in a whisper.
Just as he hangs up, the intercom rang again and Aria said, "sir, Mr. Dane is here to see Miss James."
Robin did not want to let Martin in but for the fact that another pregnant woman was waiting for him, he allowed it,
"Let him in."
As soon as the door opened, Sabrina stood up and went to hug Martin. Taking advantage of the situation, Martin wrapped his arms safely around her waist,
Robin frowned imperceptibly. Martin knew he would not get this chance on a normal day, for which reason he did so.
Robin wanted to call him out concerning their last discussion before Zayla’s interruption but since Zayla was there, he would allow Martin to enjoy this moment.
"Why didn’t you call me? And what are you doing here?" Martin asked worriedly, while he glanced at Robin.
Internally, he was afraid of striking any form of conversation with Robin, lest he reminded him of the warning.
Luckily, Sabrina made it easy for him, saying,
"Let’s talk in the car." She turned to Robin, smiled, and said, "Thank you, Mr. Jewel."
Robin’s frown only deepened but he did not respond. Martin was lucky today but Robin would make sure that he did not get it easy next time.
When Sabrina saw Zayla at the reception, she pretended to not notice her and said to Aria,
"Have a nice day."
"You too, Miss James," Aria responded with a smile which made Zayla upset before she barged into Robin’s office. She wondered how Aria treated Sabrina nicely and was mostly rude to her.
Seeing Robin and knowing that she needed his help, she quickly went to hug him and said,
"Robin, what is that shameless woman doing here?"
Robin pushed her away gently and said seriously,
"Zayla, I don’t want to hear you calling Sabrina names. I already told you her story."
"But you are divorced. You should not be close to her," Zayla stated. She did not want to bring it up so soon but her jealousy did not allow her brain to function correctly.
"Zayla, she fainted in a business meeting. Did you expect me to just leave her there?" Robin asked, annoyed by her incessant probing.
"You should have called 911. You should not have brought her to your office," Zayla insisted.
Robin did not want to talk about it anymore since she was not ready to understand. He asked her in a serious tone,
"Why are you doing here Zayla?"
Chapter 82: Chapter 82 – Robin is principled
Zayla fumbled for words. She had ruined his mood, and didn’t know how to put her message across. How could she not control herself until Robin had agreed to help her father?
Now that she had succeeded in ruining his mood, she had no idea where to start from.
"Zayla, are you going to tell me, or I should forget about it?" Robin asked impatiently.
Zayla perked up. She went to sit on the table, blocking Robin’s access to his laptop since he had already sat back in his executive swivel chair.
"Please, Zayla, I have urgent matters to attend to. Get a chair," Robin said in a slightly irritated tone.
Zayla walked around and sat on a chair in front of him while she said, "Darling, please, you have to help my dad."
Robin frowned. He hated for closed matters to be brought back to light, but then again, he was a little confused.
"Zayla, what kind of help are you talking about?"
Zayla blinked, and tears filled her eyes. Robin’s heart softened instantly while she spoke in a teary voice,
"Darling, my dad has been arrested, and there is no one to bail him out."
"Arrested for what?" A frown lined Robin’s fine features when he asked the question.
"He...he declared the company bankrupt, and the investors got him arrested," Zayla stuttered. Robin sighed frustratedly,
"Zayla, there’s nothing I can do about it."
Zayla forced down more tears, giving her a pitiful look. She saw Robin falling for it and capitalized on it,
"Darling, please. If you don’t help him, I will be depressed."
Indeed, Robin could not allow his pregnant girlfriend to undergo depression, so he ran his fingers through his hair and let out,
"I will send one of my lawyers over to handle it."
Zayla was not happy with that arrangement, looking at the depth of her father’s crimes. The lawyers would only complicate matters and advise Robin to back down from the case. Zayla could not allow that to happen.
Putting on another pitiful expression, she said in a pleading tone,
"Darling, why don’t you go yourself? Your presence is enough to make them drop the charges against him."
Roman grimaced, wondering if Zayla was mistaking him for Santa Claus.
"Zayla, I don’t condone fraudulent activities. If I make a mistake, I pay for it, so if your father made a mistake, you have to understand that it’s beyond me. The law must take its course," he explained slowly, knowing that her brain did not process things as fast enough.
Zayla shook her head, wiping her tears with the back of her hands whilst allowing more tears to fall. Robin would not want to see his pregnant girlfriend miserable so that was her only ticket.
"But darling, what if I end up with hypertension? I can’t sleep and it’s not good for the baby," Zayla cried some more, Robin found himself in a helpless situation.
Indeed, hypertension could affect her pregnancy.
"I will see what I can do. Just go back to the penthouse," Robin instructed while thinking of how best he could help with the whole thing.
Zayla was still not satisfied and needed some answers so she asked,
"Darling please, will you help him?"
Robin found himself nodding to her request. He was only going to help the man out of police custody but he was never going to help to resurrect his business.
Zayla’s father was a shame to businessmen of his kind.
"I will Zayla but I won’t guarantee that he will have anything back. My lawyers would only take care of the investors and that is as far as I can go."
Hearing that her father would be released, Zayla thought of coming up with a way to get into the villa without owning it, to search for the diamond. That way, her father could have everything back.
Afterall, it did not look like the villa was occupied. Sabrina was not living there. "Thank you, Robin, it’s enough for me."
***
At the car park Martin was still uneasy about how Sabrina ended up in Robin’s office. He feared that Sabrina still harbored feelings for Robin, which his heart could not take. Not after getting the chance to be with her, even if what they had was fake.
The way she hugged him when he entered Robin’s office, made him want her more and more for himself. At that, he could not even start the car until he got some clarifications.
"Sabrina, how did you end up in his office?"
"I don’t know. I woke up there. I felt dizzy during the meeting and I don’t know what happened next," Sabrina said truthfully, Martin was even more uneasy.
"Sabrina, if he did anything to you, we should press charges against him," Martin suggested, afraid that Robin must have been intimate with her.
Sabrina was disappointed by his thought process but did not show it.
"Relax, Martin, he did nothing to me. I woke up on the sofa and my clothes were intact. Robin is quite principled. He would never take advantage of a helpless woman."
Martin felt awful at how she quickly defended Robin. He feared that if things continued like this, he would soon be pushed to the side, especially when Sabrina would be working frequently with Robin. Martin was not liking it.
"Sabrina, are you still in love with him?"
Sabrina was irritated but thought to make her stance clear. At least, she relied on Martin’s presence to get over Robin so she could not keep mute and let him have strange ideas.
"Martin, everything I ever felt for Robin died after that dinner. I have forgiven him but that is all there is and I would never welcome any relationship from him. That reminds me, let me check my messages."
Sabrina realized she had not checked her phone when she woke up except when she received Devin’s call and feared that she must have missed out on vital information.
As soon as she unlocked her phone, her eyes opened so wide, Martin was scared. "What is the problem?"
Chapter 83: Chapter 83 – Stanley is already a dead man
Sabrina did not know how to explain it, feeling miserable and ashamed of the fact that it was only after her divorce that Robin would show her kindness and treat her like a woman.
She passed the phone to Martin, who frowned deeply at the picture on the screen.
The caption worsened his mood. ’Is President Robin Jewel still in love with his ex-wife?’
It captured Robin carrying Sabrina in his arms with a very soft gaze. The short video showed his graceful movement and care for her as if she was the most important person in his life.
Their posture looked very intimate, for which reason the caption said so.
Martin remembered his confrontation with Robin and how he was forcing him to stay away from Sabrina and using Mara to threaten him. As a man, he could not doubt that Robin had feelings for his ex-wife, which he did not know.
"Can you take it down?"
Sabrina’s calm question brought his attention to the matter on the ground. Indeed, he felt too jealous to allow something like this to trend. Never. Martin was not going to allow it to happen.
"Of course. I will do anything for you," Martin said softly while returning the phone to her. He would have still done it even if she did not ask.
While Sabrina scrolled through her phone, she also found the post-Devin made about Matilda getting justice. She smiled at the news. Devin had not told her about the information going viral so soon, but she was glad it had, and Matilda was free to walk around with her head high again.
The next day, Devin received a parcel at his penthouse. It was dropped in front of his door when he was about to leave the house with Sabrina.
Matilda was cleaning the house after stopping the cleaning agency from coming over since she was there idly. It was something she did to whirl time away.
"Stanley’s location has been revealed," Devin said after reading the information in the envelope. There was the direction of the location as well. Sabrina was excited when Devin turned to her and said, "Sabrina, I will drop you at the office and go there."
Sabrina was happy but also worried. What if this was a trap to attack her brother? They had no idea where the information came from.
"Is it safe for you to go there alone?" She asked worriedly. Devin thought through her words and said comfortingly,
"I will go with Martin."
Sabrina felt better but still wanted to know who and why the person was helping with information concerning Matilda.
"But who has been supplying us with all this information?" She asked worriedly. Devin pursed his lips and said,
"I don’t know, but I think he also wants justice, just as much as I do."
"Could it be someone admiring Tilda from afar?" Sabrina asked thoughtfully, and Martin scowled. He did not want any man to have eyes for Matilda.
"I don’t know what it is, but we have to go now."
"Please be careful. I could still take a cab so you could get there early. I want to know if someone else paid him to do this to Matilda or if he or she is just genuinely concerned," Sabrina said.
Devin nodded his head, "I promise to get you every information you need," he promised solemnly. Matilda had been eavesdropping on their conversation and getting excited.
She wanted to confirm a few things. Walking to the entrance, she said,
"I heard you mention Stanley."
"Yeah, he has been located, so we would get him arrested and find out why he did what he did. He would pay for everything he did to you," Devin said seriously.
Matilda’s heart warmed. Finally, justice would be served.
"Thank you, Devin," she smiled and said, but as usual, Devin was not used to taking other people’s compliments. He said truthfully,
"Well, an anonymous person sent the location, so I won’t take credit for it."
Matilda smiled and said, "Still, thank you."
She already guessed it was Robin, and she was more certain that she owed him appreciation. Knowing that he was doing it all because of Sabrina, she even felt that Robin must still be in love with his ex-wife.
As soon as Stanley confesses, she will be totally free.
After Devin dropped Sabrina, he sent a location to Martin before he called,
"Martin, the anonymous helper sent the location to Stanley’s hidout. You can meet me there if you want but I already called the corps."
Martin recalled the promise he made to Mara. Involving the cops meant he would not be able to keep his promise,
"Do we need to involve the cops? Can’t we punish him ourselves?" He asked seriously, hoping that Devin would reconsider. Devin thought about calling the inspector to inform him that the person had already escaped and said to Martin,
"We can. I will call them and withdraw the complaint."
"Great, I will meet you there," Martin said excitedly. To be able to keep his promise to Mara mattered to him a lot.
By the time Devin arrived at the warehouse, he saw men in army uniforms going in and out. Martin joined as well and was confused.
"What is going on?" he asked.
"I think we are late. Looks like Matilda’s father got here before us," Devin pursed his lips and said with dismay.
Perhaps he should have allowed Sabrina to take a cab. That way, he would not have missed it.
"Can we still go in?" Martin asked, hoping for a way to kidnap the culprit all to himself.
"To tell him what? That we kidnapped his daughter and we need the culprit to prove her innocence?" Devin asked sarcastically, thinking of if they run into the general himself. What excuse could they give for wanting Stanley?
"You have a point," Martin agreed. Devin shrugged from the distance they stood and said sadly,
"From the look of it, Stanley is already a dead man."
Martin couldn’t agree more. He opened his car door and said,
"Let’s get out of here."
The two men arrived at Sabrina’s office with grim expressions.
"What is the problem? Why do you guys look as if you have been beaten?" Sabrina asked worriedly.
Chapter 84: Chapter 84 - More trending news about me and Sabrina
"Someone got there before us,"
Devin said with remorse, but seeing Sabrina’s dismayed gaze, he was even guiltier due to the promise he made her before leaving this morning.
"Who?" Sabrina asked, wishing that Devin had not insisted on dropping her off. Perhaps he would not have missed it if he had not insisted.
"Matilda’s father," Devin said seriously. Sabrina was slightly relieved. It was still for the same course, so they were still winners, but she also wondered and asked,
"How did he know?"
Devin shook his head and said, "I don’t know, but he must also be searching for Stanley because of the video. Don’t forget that he has more resources than we do due to his line of work."
"I just hope we’ll be able to know the one behind it," Sabrina said anxiously.
"We hope so too, but if Stanley did it alone, then I would prepare for his funeral. I doubt the general would spare him," Devin shrugged again and spoke.
It would have been nice to add Stanley’s confession to the viral video, but that did not seem possible anymore.
"Does it mean he would stop looking for Matilda?" Sabrina asked, hoping that the general would not lock up Matilda again.
Devin understood the source of her worry and explained, "No. But I believe he would want to make amends. It’s all up to Matilda if she wants to go and meet her father again."
"I will talk to her about it this evening," Sabrina said sadly. If Matilda decides to go back to her father, she would never try to stop her but knew she would miss her best friend so much.

At Jewel Group
Daniel was already at Robin’s office before he arrived, looking tired.
"Robin, didn’t you sleep well last night?" Daniel asked with concern. It was as if Robin had been forced out of his bed and into the office.
Robin removed his jacket and sat on his swivel chair, lost in thought. "It isn’t easy getting Zayla’s father out of police custody."
"What happened?" Daniel frowned and asked. Robin had not informed him about anything concerning Zayla, and he was beginning to think that the girl had decided to be good, but it seemed not to be the case.
Robin was not proud of what he did. Criminals had to be punished, but he did it all for Zayla. He should be happy because she saved his life before, but rather, he was depressed.
"I’m not in the mood to talk about it. So, what brings you here?" He raised his brows and asked, knowing that for Daniel to be in his office so early meant there was a problem at hand.
"We went according to plan, and the general got there first," Daniel revealed. Robin instantly understood, and his mood brightened up greatly,
"Great."
"There is another trending news," Daniel revealed again before Robin could jubilate.
"Which is?" Robin frowned and asked, not in the mood for any more drama today. He called Aria to bring two cups of tea before he directed his attention back to Daniel. Daniel turned his laptop towards Robin.
"Oh, that!" Robin smiled when he saw the picture and trending video. He knew that the media were always on his matter, but for this one, he felt that it rightly deserved to be there.
Not seeing even a glint of remorse on Robin’s face, Daniel explained further,
"Robin, I’m only concerned about the hateful comments."
He began to read them to Robin’s hearing, "Sabrina has a boyfriend, and she is still fucking her ex-husband. Such a despicable woman. I feel pity for Zayla, and she is so decent. Women like Sabrina are a shame to their kind."
Robin’s mood instantly turned sour again. He loved the caption but not the hate comments.
"Find out who is behind it," Robin snarled. Martin already had the information at hand, for which reason he brought it to Robin’s notice,
"The same journalist who broadcasted Zayla’s engagement."
Robin was getting furious. Whiles he was busy clearing her father’s mess, here she was, creating problems for Sabrina.
"So, Zayla is behind it."
Robin needn’t ask twice nor think of the negatives. He already discerned it due to Zayla’s reaction to Sabrina’s presence in his office.
"Hack into those accounts. I want to know who they belong to," Robin instructed, and Daniel got to business. It was one of the easiest things in his job of decades.
"All five accounts belong to Zayla," Daniel announced after a while. Robin did not seem surprised, so Daniel when on to ask,
"Should I take down the news?"
"No," Robin quickly refused before he added, "Delete all the hateful comments and block her from commenting."
Daniel was confused once again and asked, "Why are you keeping it?"
To his amazement, Robin smiled and asked, "Isn’t it cute? We look beautiful together."
Daniel chuckled but was also beginning to worry for his best friend. He quickly reminded him, "Robin, you are with Zayla now."
Robin’s smile turned into a frown and he responded, "Must you remind me every time? Don’t forget that Sabrina is carrying my child. Very soon, I will be the first person she sees when she wakes up, and the last before she goes to bed."
Daniel was shaking his head. If they had not talked about this before, he would have said that his best friend was in love with his ex-wife but now, all he could say was that Robin was crazy.
"Oh Robin. Why won’t you leave her alone?" Daniel asked when he noticed another hacker online and said,
"Wait, someone is trying to clear it."
Robin’s brows knitted with worry and he said sternly, "Don’t allow it but I want to know who."
It took a while before Daniel responded, "I Know this hacker, Twilight. He works for Martin and Devin."
Hearing Martin’s name again, Robin said seriously, "Then kick him out. I will soon fill the air with more trending news about me and Sabrina."
Chapter 85: Chapter 85 – The end of Stanley
"What if Sabrina asks you to take it down?" Daniel asked, and Robin froze a little.
Indeed, Sabrina would not like any news trending about her and Robin. He saw it in her eyes that what she felt for him was not like before.
He also knew he had caused it, and it was too late to correct. Now that he could never leave Zayla. He knew that he would never be able to have Sabrina. However, he was more afraid that he would never be able to live without Sabrina.
When she slept in his office yesterday, he felt peaceful and calm. It was a feeling he only got when he was with her, but all these he never noticed when they were married. Perhaps he took her love for granted, and that was not cool.
"Then I won’t have a choice than to do so," he said bitterly, knowing that, at this point, he was more concerned about Sabrina’s happiness than his own.
Daniel finished up everything he came to do, stood up, and said, "I think I have to go now."
"Of course. I have transferred some money into your account."
Daniel instantly checked his SMS alerts and frowned,
"Robin, this is too much."
It wasn’t the first time, and he realized that for some time now, Robin kept paying him double for his services. Since they were best friends, he never intended to charge Robin for everything he did for him, but Robin kept doubling his payment.
"You earned it," Robin said seriously. Daniel was speechless. He knew that Robin’s requests were always demanding and needed extra resources but still, the money he paid was over.
Just as Daniel was about to leave, his iWatch beeped, and he sensed there was another job awaiting him.
Sitting back in the seat he sat before, he opened the laptop and saw a pop-up.
"There is a pop-up," he informed Robin who lacked understanding in what it meant before Daniel added,
"Oh, the general’s hacker found me. The military hackers are exceptional."
Robin was curious. He did not want his help to be exposed, thereby asking,
"What did he say?"
Daniel smiled and responded, "He is thanking me for the information and asking if I would work for him."
Robin shook his head with dissatisfaction. If Daniel worked for any organization, he would have less time for Robin and the latter did not want that. He wanted to keep Daniel all to himself, for which reason he kept paying double for his services.
Robin was not an exploiter of talent. He measures one’s work and pays accordingly. For Daniel, he was exceptional and irrespective of being best friends, Robin never took advantage of him.
"Tell him you are taken," Robin said seriously, Daniel laughed and responded,
"I already did." After a while, he continued typing some codes and said, "he still insists on giving me some jobs."
"That is fine," Robin agreed. For as long as Daniel would not work under anyone, Robin was fine and did not care the number of jobs Daniel took upon himself. For as long as he was always able to deliver, they were good to go.
"Wait, he has a surprise for me," Daniel said again and Robin was curious, his interest peaked and he went to sit beside Daniel.
"And that is?"
"It’s a video. He said it’s going to go viral in the next twenty minutes but I can have a look at it," Daniel explained.
From the way they were communicating, Robin could not understand until Daniel explained.
Robin and Daniel might be men but upon seeing the video, they felt nauseated. There was blood spurted everywhere and Stanley had been beaten beyond recognition at the warehouse Robin ordered him to be sent to.
Five military men took turns, inflicting various forms in injury and torture all over his body. Their faces were covered so no one would know who they were.
"Did you do it alone?" One of the military men asked but his voice was disguised because it sounded weird. A scissors was cutting through Stanley’s manhood while the military man asked the question.
Stanley was crying and screaming like a baby while saying, "No. I was sent by a lady. She paid me well and helped me to relocate after."
"What’s her name?" The man asked coldly.
"She did not give me her name but she was with an older woman who mentioned her name to be Mara," Stanley was still crying whiles he spoke and there was mucus mixed with blood covering his face, he looked disgusting.
"Her surname," the man asked again.
"Sula," Stanley revealed. The military man stopped torturing him and said in front of the camera with his face covered,
"For everyone watching this video, this is what happens to men who take advantage of innocent girls but as for Mara Sula or whatever your name is, you would suffer worse than this."
All the men in the video had their faces covered except the one being tortured so no one would see from the darkness that they were military men.
’This is horrible,’ Daniel sent a message to the hacker. There was an instant response,
’Not as much as what he did to our princess. Can you help us find her?’ The hacker requested and Daniel was lost for a while.
This was Robin’s game and he dared not make promises he could not keep.
’I will let you know when I get information but if her father can make a public announcement, I think that would help,’ Daniel suggested.
It was up to Matilda to decide whether she wanted to forgive her father or not and Daniel did not think it right for her to be manipulated or forced to do so.
’Thanks, and goodbye,’ the hacker messaged.
’Goodbye.’ Daniel messaged back. He then turned his attention to Robin and said,
"Robin, the video will go viral very soon."
"I won’t stop it," Robin smiled and spoke. Then he murmured, "let’s see how Martin protects his sister this time."
Daniel heard him and responded, "I would like to know too."
