The Rewritten Love: A Second Beginning by Max Charming Chapter 801

“Why isn’t Madelyn here, Kevin?” Mya asked. Kevin replied with a hint of nonchalance, “Ms. Jent’s downstairs, playing golf with Mr. Jardin. If you want to see her, go on down. Mr. Jardin said his company’s taking care of the situation at the birthday party.”

Mya said, “Thanks for letting me know.

Kevin nodded, “No problem.”

Luke called out, trying to make things right, “Mya…”

Lifting her dress slightly, Mya shot him one last look, “I told you you’d face the consequences.” She walked off, leaving a chattering crowd behind.

Luke’s family swarmed him, bombarding him with questions,” What went down, Luke? Why did Mya bolt? You know, our families had your back, helped with your college needs, and in return, you promised us a house.

“Are you guys still getting hitched?”

“Man, Luke, I was waiting for a house before getting married. Now, without one, what do I do?”

“And these gems? They were supposed to be a safety net for my daughter’s future. Luke, you better not bail on us.”

Frustrated, Luke yelled, “Can you all just cool it? Is it always about money with you people? Isn’t there enough to go around? Why have you got to be so greedy with the Harpers?” Silently, he seethed, ‘Blake nailed it; they’re just out for themselves.’

Police officers arrived shortly after Mya left, “We received a tip about Luke Graham being involved in kidnapping, extortion, and some burglaries. Anyone involved will come with us.” Two officers handcuffed Luke and escorted him away. The other relatives, attempting to leave, were swiftly arrested.

Madelyn removed her Bluetooth headset, telling Zach, “Mya’s approaching. Can you give us a moment? I’ll catch up with you later.”

Zach said, “So, I should just disappear?

Madelyn gently removed his arm from her waist and replied, “It’s not about you disappearing; it’s about how it will look. If Mya sees us this close, how do I explain our relationship? Secret boyfriend or something else? Mya’s one of my few friends. Please, don’t make it complicated for me.”

She looked up at Zach, his tall figure acting as a shield against the sun, highlighted by a deep-red striped vest and black shirt. “Thank you for today,” she murmured. Even though she did not know how he found out about Mya’s problem, she felt grateful.

Zach’s eyes, however, were not even warm hearing that. Instead, they turned icy. “That’s it?” he snapped and said sharply. “I helped you because I wanted to. I do not want to hear these empty words from you. Can’t you please me?”

Madelyn shifted her gaze. “Isn’t being in bed with you enough? What more are you looking for? Let’s make a deal then. Whatever you want, I’m on board. Just give me ten minutes,” she said. She never truly wanted any of those intimate moments with him.

‘A deal?’ Zach’s face tightened, a storm of anger and frustration evident in his eyes. He wanted to respond but felt cornered.

Then, from a distance, Mya called out, Madelyn!”

Madelyn turned, flashing a quick smile, “I just need fifteen minutes.”

The Rewritten Love: A Second Beginning by Max Charming Chapter 802

Madelyn repeated, “Thank you.” As Madelyn approached, the bodyguard who had been blocking Mya stepped aside. Mya eagerly embraced Madelyn, causing her to stagger. She pressed her face against Madelyn’s shoulder, sobbing loudly.

“You were gone for so long, and you didn’t even contact me. Did you know I almost died?” Mya asked, her voice serious.

Madelyn’s gaze landed on the dark bruises on Mya’s neck and back. Blake had filled her in. “I’m so sorry, Mya,” Madelyn whispered, her voice laden with regret. “I wish I’d been here sooner.”

Mya shook her head gently, “You’re here now, and that’s what matters. Plus, you brought gifts. I’ve forgiven you.”

“Promise me you’ll be careful. Don’t let anyone hurt you.”

“I promise. With you here, I feel protected.”

The Harper family sponsored Luke for school because he did not have much money. When Mya ran into him at Ventropolis University, it was by accident. In college, when bullies picked on Luke, Mya defended him. From then on, Luke cared a lot about her. Seeing this, Mya’s father, Simon, thought they would be great together and tried to set them up. At first, Mya was not sure. But when her father needed a kidney, Luke quickly offered one of his. Touched by his kindness, Mya started dating him. But as they spent more time together, things began to change.

Over time, Luke’s desires grew. He and many of his relatives moved into Mya’s home, slowly taking over. While it first seemed harmless, they soon stopped pulling their weight, acting as though all the Harper family had was rightfully theirs.

Luke’s relatives, the Grahams, quickly took control of the mansion. With Simon hospitalized, Luke confined Mya to the storage room, using Simon’s health to manipulate her. Luke teamed up with some hospital staff, threatening Mya that if she did not obey, Simon would not get his medicine. The Grahams swiftly settled in. An elderly Graham couple moved into Simon’s master bedroom while Mya’s belongings were sold off. Without working and only profiting from the Harpers’ belongings, the Grahams acted like the mansion was theirs. But, as the saying goes, wrongfully taken things never last.

Police officers walked by, escorting several handcuffed Grahams.

“I didn’t steal anything; it was all mine! one man claimed.

“Why are you arresting me? Let me go! a woman shouted. “You said we’d have a good life, Luke. Look at us now!” another Graham yelled.

“Dad… Mom…” A young girl and a little boy from the Graham family followed, tears streaming down their faces.

The Rewritten Love: A Second Beginning by Max Charming Chapter 803

Seeing Mya, the faces of the group twisted in anger, “Mya! You did this!” “Why are they cuffing us? Shouldn’t it be her? What did we do?”

“Seriously. Officer, we’re just regular people. We haven’t done a thing. You sure you’ve got this right?”

The police officer gave them a stern look, “Enough talking.”

“Ugh! All this is because of Mya and her sneaky friend. Just wait, Mya. When I’m out, you’ll get what’s coming.”

The officer, a tad flustered, held back the still-complaining woman, “If you want a shorter time behind bars, be quiet. You really shouldn’t cross her.”

“What’s so special about her anyway? Does she think she’s richer than us?”

Madelyn sighed, “Let’s get out of here.”

“Okay,”

The noise died down as everyone was packed into the police cars.

“Mya, hold on!”

A girl in a sparkly princess dress stopped Madelyn and Mya. Seeing the woman next to Mya, her eyes lit up with admiration. Wiping away her tears, she said, “It’s because of you that my mom’s in jail. I’ve just started college. What’ll happen if they find out about my mom? I was going to move out of your place soon. Why did you let things get so messed up?”

A small boy, about five years old, clutched Mya’s dress, tears streaming down his face, “My mom’s going to be alright, isn’t she, Mya?”

Seeing Mya’s distraught face, Madelyn sighed, realizing she had to step up. Protecting Mya, she shot back, “If your mom hadn’t messed up, you wouldn’t be here in tears. The police will sort things out, and pestering Mya won’t help. Do you remember learning about the consequences of bad choices? You’ve been freeloading at the Harper’s for too long. How can you even speak like that? No one supported Mya when I was gone. Now that I’m here, and it’s cleanup time. You had your chance to leave. But when there’s trouble, all you do is blame. Just because you say something’s yours doesn’t make it so. Head on back to where you started.”

Madelyn looked at the girl’s fancy princess dress and fixed the butterfly bow that was coming loose. “That’s a cute dress, but it doesn’t seem to fit you. Your little brother’s a gem-way kinder than you. Watch out for him, and don’t get mixed up with the wrong people.”

Holding Mya’s hand, Madelyn began to walk away. When the girl tried to follow, a bodyguard stepped in her way.

Madelyn told Mya, “If you don’t want the Harpers to slip back into old ways, look ahead, not behind.”

Mya pursed her lips, “The two siblings never hurt me. When Luke trapped me in that storage room, leaving me hungry, they helped me out.”

Keeping her pace, Madelyn said, “Don’t you hold a grudge against them? Seeing the situation you’re in now, can you still feel grateful? They’re the reason for all your troubles.”

Mya had always been overly kind. The sound of her joyful laughter still echoed in Madelyn’s memories. But seeing her now, scarred and without her signature smile, Madelyn felt a deep ache of regret. She delicately pulled back Mya’s sleeve, uncovering a tapestry of new and old injuries. “Look at what you’ve been through…” Madelyn whispered, her voice wavering with emotion. Thoughts of Mya’s hardships in her absence weighed heavily on Madelyn.

Holding onto the belief that Madelyn would return, Mya hoped she would pull the Harper family out of their mess. But Madelyn had been absent for so long.

‘She must’ve felt so alone,’ Madelyn pondered.

The Rewritten Love: A Second Beginning by Max Charming Chapter 804

“I’m fine; it doesn’t hurt,” Mya said, trying not to worry Madelyn. Mya’s hands were once delicate and soft. After a few challenging years, they bore several burn scars and had become rough. Kevin approached, “Ms. Jent, we need to leave; it’s late.”

Then, a police officer approached Mya, “We need you to testify about the suspect. Could you come with us to the station?”

Mya nodded, “Okay. Madelyn, I’m heading out.”

Madelyn replied, “Take care.”

Mya hesitated, “I’m nervous about going alone, Madelyn.”

Before Madelyn could respond, Kevin jumped in, “Don’t worry, Ms. Jent. I’ll accompany her. I have some business there anyway.”

Madelyn said, “Thanks, Kevin. Just make sure she’s safe.”

Kevin replied, “Of course.”

After everyone was gone, Madelyn walked over to the luxury car. A bodyguard opened the door for her, and she got in. Next to her, Zach poured some red wine into a glass.

“Try it.”

Madelyn fixed her dress and looked away, “It’s been a long time since I had a drink.”

He rolled up his sleeves and held out the glass, “Just a sip?”

She shook her head, “I’m allergic to alcohol.”

She used to drink to forget her problems, always taking an allergy pill beforehand. Zach looked surprised. He had not known about her alcohol allergy.

“Why didn’t you mention this earlier?”

“It just never came up.”

Once at a bar, Madelyn had a bad reaction to a drink. Zach quickly took her to the hospital. Despite knowing about her alcohol allergy, he seemed to forget or overlook it. Around the same time, Jadie was sick with a fever. After making sure Madelyn was treated, Zach rushed to care for Jadie, and Madelyn was left alone in the hospital.

Zach quickly drained his glass of red wine, “From now on, I’ll support you in not drinking.” Madelyn peered out the car window, arms folded, “You don’t need to change anything. This is my issue.”

Silence filled the car. A bit later, Zach spoke up, “I’ve adjusted my work plans. How about we fly to France tomorrow? Once we’re there, you can choose the wedding spot and dress.” He took her hand, giving a gentle kiss to her fingertips as he waited for her answer.

The Rewritten Love: A Second Beginning by Max Charming Chapter 805

“I’m going to marry you and make you my second wife. Are you scared?”

It seemed like Zach was in a good mood today. Madelyn blurted out, “M-My dad just died not long ago, and you’re here thinking about marriage? You’ve been in the Jent family for so many years; you should know that the family traditions prohibit us from having a wedding during the mourning period of three years.”

Madelyn tried to pull her hand away, but Zach did not allow that to happen. Instead, he held her hand even tighter and placed it on his thigh.

“I don’t have that much patience to wait.”

Madelyn could only remain silent and stopped talking to him.

However, she just could not stop herself from venting, “What benefit do you get from marrying me? I can’t have your baby, and that child is also fake. You’re only doing this on impulse, driven by your possessiveness. You can’t stand the idea of someone that you want becoming someone else’s. After some time, you’ll just throw me away like I’m a piece of trash.”

“What makes you so sure? How do you know I’m not genuinely in love with you?”

“Because no one else understands you better than I do!” Madelyn said without hesitating. To avoid the tragedy from happening again, she gathered her courage to be honest with him, “Cecilia told you that she was reborn and has lived two lifetimes, right?”

She stared into his gaze that darkened. Zach’s grip on her hand loosened when he heard Madelyn continuing in a serious tone, “At this point, I think I should just be honest with you about something. I don’t want to repeat the tragedy and be tormented by you two again.

“Zach, whether it’s in the past life or now, us being together won’t end well. All you’ll bring me is pain…

“We were married in my past life!

“We were married for eight years. However, you rarely come home and would never take me to your office. You said that I was an embarrassment and would only cause you trouble.

“You never remembered our wedding anniversary, and in eight years… you never stopped messing around with other women, including Cecilia.

“I…” Madelyn choked as she was about to continue. Tears welled up in her eyes, and she looked at Zach with a smile, “I really, really loved you very much! But every time, you disappointed me more and more. You even did it with my best friend in our bedroom. You knew that I was right outside the door, and you saw me….

“Do you know what you said to me in my past life? You told me to get lost! Did you know how much pain I was in at that very moment?

“You never cared about how I feel. In the third year of our marriage, I became pregnant with your child. You were the one who personally sent me to the operation theater to have the child removed.

“It took me a very long time to finally recover from the pain of losing the child. After the child was gone, you never came home. Instead, you went on vacations and celebrated anniversaries with Cecilia… when you couldn’t even remember my birthday. You could gift her an eight-million-dollar mansion and a million-dollar luxury car. You even brought her back to our home.

“However, you’d only keep me imprisoned in your cage. Even when you came back, you just wanted to have sex with me. You’d never stay with me.

“Zach, don’t you understand it? I’ve lived two lifetimes just like Cecilia did. If all of this still doesn’t mean anything to you…

“I’ll tell you what happened in the last year of our marriage, the eighth year. Because you were not happy that I couldn’t have a child, you wanted to divorce me and kick me out of Ventropolis. You also told me to never come back.

“A few months after you kicked me out, I was diagnosed with cancer; I died in the hospital. On the day I died, you and Cecilia appeared in front of everyone with a five-year-old child and announced your wedding date.

Madelyn tried her best to hold her tears back, but one streamed down her cheek anyway, “Us marrying again will only lead to the same tragedy and pain befalling me once more.

“Zach… I simply know you too well.”

Zach was a fickle man. Once he got bored of his scandal, he would kick her away. The car stopped in front of Southern Haven Villas for some time.

Zach watched Madelyn’s receding back with his sharp and piercing gaze as she got out of the car. At that moment, He himself did not know what he was thinking. The Rewritten Love: A Second Beginning by Max Charming Chapter 806

It seemed like the questions in his heart had started to find their answers…

Madelyn’s eyes were already dry. She paid no attention to the child that Margaret had brought to her. She did not even spare a glance at them. Then, she headed straight upstairs.

Recalling everything that had happened made her feel like her heart was stabbed a million times. Zach had hurt her in two lifetimes. Madelyn just could not picture herself being together with him ever again.

After entering her room, Madelyn sat at the edge of the bed, ran her fingers through her hair, and burst out crying.

She did not expect Zach to feel guilty after listening to what she told him. She only hoped that he would understand what she felt and let her go.

As she calmed herself down, she remembered the note that Mya had given to her earlier. Zach was in the car earlier, so she did not have the chance to read it. She unfolded the crumpled note and saw the three words on the wrinkled paper, “Check your email.”

Madelyn was puzzled. Then, she picked up her phone from the nightstand and accessed her email. She then found several unread emails from Kennedy in her overseas email account.

[Watch out for Zach Jardin!]

That was one of the emails that Kennedy had sent her.

[Zach had set up surveillance software on your phone, and he can monitor every message you send. If you see my messages, don’t reply to them immediately.]

[The emails you send with your current account will be automatically forwarded to another account with a different IP address.]

[Ethan is in trouble. Frida arranged for a private plane to take him to Avalon for treatment. However, the plane exploded mid-air. She was also on board. Zach had suppressed the media from reporting about it.]

Madelyn scrolled and read through the emails.

[Madelyn… something happened to the Arnold family. Mrs. Arnold Sr. has passed away, and Zach has taken possession of the Arnold residence. I don’t know what’s going on with you now. If you’re in danger, please call me right away.]

Madelyn’s face turned paler with each email she read, and her hands could not stop trembling.

‘T-This is impossible! He’s lying to me! ‘It’s impossible that Ethan has died! This has got to be fake.’ Madelyn thought to herself.

Her mind immediately went blank. Then, she saw the photos of the wreckage of the plane. The photos showed the date and time of when it was taken, which was not long ago.

Zach came back home very late that night. Madelyn figured that he did not go anywhere else. Instead, he went to the Arnold residence. Madelyn finally knew why there was a strange smell on him that night.

It was the smell of dead people.

Although the heater was switched on in the room, Madelyn could feel a rush of cold air emanating from the floor, sending a chill down her spine.

The Rewritten Love: A Second Beginning by Max Charming Chapter 807

However, Zach had promised her that he would not harm anyone from the Arnold family. Why would he lie to her?

With her limbs turning colder, Madelyn reluctantly contacted someone she did not want to deal with. The phone rang for a few seconds, and then it was connected.

“Are you looking for me?” Kai asked. He sounded very cautious. Madelyn panicked and quickly hung up the phone. Kai colluded with Zach, so Madelyn figured that she should not trust him as well.

Suddenly, Madelyn thought about something. She zoomed in on those pictures and quickly recognized the location. They were all taken near the sea around Ventropolis.

Madelyn had heard about a plane crash not long ago, but she had never expected Ethan to be on the plane. She immediately rushed out of the room with her phone as if she had lost her mind. She could not believe that Ethan’s death was real.

‘Why would Zach kill him? He already has everything he wants!

‘Ethan has done nothing to him. Zach is nothing but a heartless demon.’ Madelyn thought to herself. Margaret saw Madelyn rushing down the stairs frantically and said, “Ms. Jent, where are you going?”

Madelyn seemed as if she had not heard her and disappeared from her sight. Zach was at Nightfall of the Supreme World. He would rarely touch alcohol, but this time, he drank heavily…

He was alone in the private room, and Madelyn was the only reason he got himself drunk. Zach’s mind was in a mess. It was like he was trying to avoid everything he had done throughout the years. He had no idea why he did what he had done.

The door of the private room was pushed open. Then, Cecilia, whom Zach had not seen for some time and was dressed in a wine-red dress and high heels, stepped inside confidently. The lights in the room were dim, and there was an indescribable look on her face when she said, “I’ve never seen you in such a state before.”

She then sat down next to him, “Stop drinking! I know you’re very angry about what I did, but Zach, I can change for you. Will you stop acting like this, please?”

“Get out!” Zach yelled at her.

There were a lot of empty beer bottles and shards of glass on the floor. Cecilia looked at him affectionately as she caressed his face, “Why can’t you understand? I’m the woman who loves you the most. I’ve loved you for two lifetimes, but why won’t you love me back in this one?”

Cecilia could not figure out what went wrong. Everything had gone according to plan, just like in her past life. The Arnold family had fallen, and the Young family was on the brink of collapsing as well.

However, she just could not understand why Zach would still be so obsessed with Madelyn.

“Zach, can we just forget about her?”

Zach exuded a terrifying aura, yet Cecilia was unfazed. ‘Would he only turn back to me after Madelyn is dead?’ Cecilia thought to herself.

Suddenly, Cecilia wrapped her arm around Zach’s neck and started kissing him desperately as if trying to obtain something from his body. Zach pushed her away forcefully and gripped her throat, “Do you have a death wish?”

Cecilia endured the pain. Although she was already shedding tears, she told him anyway, “Zach, I love you! I’ve waited for you for so long. If you still don’t love me back, I’ll just die with you! In that way, you’ll never fall in love with anybody else ever again.”

Zach was not the only person who had gone mad. He was the person who gave her a glimmer of hope in the darkest time of her life.

He was the one who started everything. So how could he abandon her just like that?

The Rewritten Love: A Second Beginning by Max Charming Chapter 808

Cecilia had gone insane! Her love for Zach had turned into a sickly obsession. They were born to be the same kind of people who would destroy anything that they could not have.

“…Did you spike my drink?” Zach frowned. His body swayed as he slowly began to lose consciousness. Suddenly, he felt like he could see Madelyn’s face.

She was smiling at him. Then, he seemed to hear Madelyn saying to him, “Zach, don’t you want me? Come on!”

A rush of heat coursed through his body. Suddenly, he turned around and pinned Cecilia beneath him. Then, he tore her dress apart violently and found out that the bra she wore was in his favorite style and color.

Cecilia shut her eyes, savoring the pleasure Zach brought as she moaned softly. Suddenly, Zach’s phone on the table vibrated. There were only a handful of people who had Zach’s number.

Apart from Kevin who would call him frequently for work-related matters, the other caller would be the landline at the Jent residence.

Thick clouds covered the dark sky of Ventropolis, blocking all moonlight. It seemed like there would be a heavy rain later. The Jent residence was in complete chaos.

Margaret paced back and forth in front of the mansion’s door while carrying Dalton. “What’s happening today? Normally the two of them would be home at this time, but neither of them is here now. It seems like this kid has been cursed and I just can’t seem to calm him down at all!” Dalton had been crying non-stop ever since Madelyn left the mansion. He even vomited all the milk Margaret fed him.

Tears just would not stop flowing down his cheeks. Madelyn had taken a cab for several hours and finally arrived at her destination. In the border of Ventropolis’ sea, the wind howled, creating a haunting sound.

“Young lady, are you sure this is the right place?

“Someone died here not long ago. It seems like it’s about to rain. You should consider going back. Madelyn ignored the driver’s advice and got out of the car after paying him.

With a flashlight in her hand, she went into the wood. She looked around but had no idea what she was looking for. It had been so long, and everyone thought that he was dead.

However, the search and rescue team could not locate his body at all. In the face of hidden dangers lurking in the darkness, her sadness had overcome her fear.

Ethan was caught in a plane crash, yet she knew nothing about it. And all of that had only happened because of her. Zach was the reason behind everything.

Ethan and Frida were both dead now. Suddenly, a flash of purple lightning struck across the night sky, illuminating the creepy and eerie forest. It was then followed by a deafening clap of thunder.

Then, it began raining heavily.

The ice-cold rainwater penetrated her clothes, causing a nerve-wracking pain. Madelyn seemed to have reached her limit and collapsed to the ground.

The muddy ground then formed a puddle around her. With her blurry vision, she saw a dark figure slowly approaching her. Then, she saw that person’s face saying to her, “Madelyn, let’s go back, okay?”

Madelyn reached out as if she really saw a living Ethan standing right in front of her. “Ethan, I’m sorry!

“I’m so sorry.”

In an instant, Madelyn’s emotions erupted. She lay on the ground, and cried as her body trembled.

“Zach! Why did you have to kill him?

“Why? Why can’t you be the one who died?”

The Rewritten Love: A Second Beginning by Max Charming Chapter 809

The air in the luxurious private room of the nightclub was filled with the scent of alcohol and extravagance.

A man and a woman were entwined on the sofa, immersed in lust. Then, the door of the private room was suddenly kicked open with a loud bang. A server tried to stop the intruder. “Sir, you can’t go inside,” he said.

Cecilia had applied some aphrodisiac on her lips and accidentally consumed a small amount of it, making her half- conscious. As she heard the loud bang, she turned to the door. Before she could see who that was, the man on top of her was lifted off of her.

“How could you still have the mood to mess with another woman? Zach, you’re so bold!” Kai swung his fist at Zach’s face. It was so powerful that he almost fell to the ground. However, Kai grabbed him by the collar to stop him from falling. He could immediately tell that Zach was drugged upon looking at his condition; his body was burning hot.

Cecilia quickly got dressed after seeing that Kai was about to take Zach away. Then, she went after him, “Kai Stewart, stop right there. Where are you taking him?”

Kai put Zach’s arm around his shoulder, “When Zach wakes up, you should be worried whether you’ll live to see another day.”

With that, Kai left the nightclub with Zach. However, what he said was not a threat. Zach would actually end Cecilia’s life for setting him up like that.

Kai looked at the man, who was sitting in the passenger seat. Zach had not lost all his consciousness. Despite the effects of the drug, Zach still managed to have some sanity. His shirt was torn apart, and a few buttons had come undone. Then, he spoke in an unusually low and hoarse voice, “Take me to the hospital. I was drugged.”

Kai sneered as he made a U-turn, ” You’re aware of that too, huh? Did you know that you almost had sex with Cecilia? You should be glad that I arrived on time. Otherwise, how are you going to face Madelyn?”

The aphrodisiac Cecilia gave was so powerful that it induced hallucinations, causing Zach to see Madelyn’s face in his delirious state. He almost lost control of himself.

“Why would you go to the nightclub?” Zach rolled down the window, allowing the cold wind to enter and help him stay awake.

The night sky was filled with flashes of lightning not far away, as if a heavy rain was about to pour down.

Suddenly, Zach felt a sharp pain in his chest. He clutched his chest, unable to calm the sensation.

Kai drove toward the hospital as storm clouds approached. Rain poured down heavily, covering the car’s windshield instantly, “What? Didn’t I tell you to take good care of Madelyn? Do you know that her body is very weak?

“Zach, how could you go to a nightclub to mess around with Cecilia? Did you know that Madelyn left the Jent residence? She could be in danger right now!

“No one can reach her now.”

Suddenly, Zach’s gaze turned aggressive. ‘She won’t escape.’ He thought to himself. She told Zach that she did not like being watched, so he took the bodyguards away.

When she left the Jent residence for over half an hour, her phone would sound an alarm, and Zach’s phone would receive a notification.

When Zach checked his phone, his heart was immediately flooded with infuriation, annoyance, and anger…

It was filled with various negative emotions. When Zach was looking at his phone, Kai said, “I’ve talked to Kevin, and he’s trying to track Madelyn’s location now. Zach Jardin, you’d better pray that Madelyn is still unaware of what happened to Ethan.”

Kai had no idea what he could do to salvage the situation if she ever found out. They had done so many bad things to Madelyn, and there was nothing they could do to make her forgive them.

Kai only found out about Madelyn’s disappearance because he wanted to know if she was experiencing any symptoms after taking the medicine.

Compared to all the other cancer medicines, the one that Kai had given to her had the mildest side effects.

So, if there was any improvement, there would be a slim chance of her surviving.

The Rewritten Love: A Second Beginning by Max Charming Chapter 810

Maybe the chance was minuscule, but he had to try anyway. He could not bear to just give up on her like this, even if there was just a 0.1 percent chance. Then, Kevin’s call came in, “Ms. Jent disappeared around the border sea area of Ventropolis…”

The car immediately fell silent, then Kai pounded the steering wheel. “What the fuck, Zach Jardin! I told you not to do anything to Ethan, but you just wouldn’t listen!”

Kai should have guessed that Madelyn would search for Ethan’s remains. But the search and rescue team had looked for eight days and found nothing; what could she possibly find there?

The direction where the lightning and thunder had just struck was right at the border. With Madelyn’s current health, Kai had no idea if she could withstand the storm.

“You’d better pray she’s okay.”

The rain continued, and the car kept driving. Kevin arrived just in time. When he saw the approaching vehicle, everyone got out of the car in the rain.

Kevin walked over with a black umbrella. Zach stormed out of Kai’s car and pushed everyone in front of him away. The effect of the drug had not subsided, but he stumbled into the woods while braving the freezing rain anyway.

“Mr. Jardin!” Kevin had never seen Zach in such a flustered state. Zach was walking incredibly fast as if he was looking for something important. Everyone else was busy searching for Madelyn, too.

Kai watched every move Zach made.. Indeed, he had never seen Zach doing anything like this before. He had thought that someone like him would never treat another person with his heart. The night sky was once again illuminated by a stroke of thunder.

Zach spotted a familiar piece of clothing on a branch. At that moment, his black hair was obscuring his reddened eyes.

He picked that up, lowered his head, and clutched it tightly. His eyes were filled with regret and suppressed pain.

“Find her! Even if you have to dig through the entire mountain!”

Half an hour later, they found Madelyn lying unconscious next to a tree.

“She’s here… we found her! Mr. Jardin, Ms. Jent is right here.”

Zach walked in their direction without hesitation, but then he misstepped. Just as he was about to fall, Kevin rushed to his aid and exclaimed, “Mr. Jardin, watch out!”

Zach pushed him away and rushed forward. The bodyguard dared not to do anything rashly, so they just held the umbrella over Madelyn to shield her from the rain.

Zach slowed down as his bodyguards made way for him. He was extremely careful as he crouched down, picked her up, and placed his fingers beneath her nose. He could feel that she was still breathing.

He was overwhelmed with joy at the miracle of finding her. He held her tightly, ignoring the mud all over her body. He then buried his head in her neck as everyone else watched the scene in silence.

Kai came over and paused, standing at a distance.
