Ch. 101..105: The Rogue is a Female Alpha chapter 101-105
Back Where 101
It feels unreal. To be inside Ash Pack. Standing in the garden, staring up at the night sky where there is nothing. No stars. No moon. Just wide darkness.
I lower my gaze when I hear movement from behind me, and his scent comes before his voice. Jurrek.
Inside the Ashmere Garden, where no one dares enter except by invitation, I have called upon him after dinner. After the declaration that my brother’s name is to be off–limits on every lip.
That’s a lie. An order that shatters my heart, but it is necessary. Not when I can’t tell who wishes his return and who didn’t.
I turn to see Jurrek standing before me with a low bow. When he straightens, it’s a stare of confusion and wonder that he renders me.
“You want to give up the search for your brother?” he asks in awe, unable to stop himself, and I go mute, reading his face. “Why would you want to?”
Again, I am silent. My heart heaving as I see a frown crease his brow, then horror replaces it. Never have I seen him so pale, so shocked, and so scared.
“Does the letter say he is dead?”
I don’t speak, and he takes my silence for a yes. He walks slowly to the chair and sits. I see his fingers tremble, a something that has never happened before.
I walk gently to sit across from him and reach for his hands. He doesn’t look like a man who would betray Varyn or any Ashmere, for that matter.
“The letter says something else, Jurrek Read for yourself,” I murmur softly, passing him the parchment.
He pauses for a second to stare at me, then hurriedly takes it. He reads in silence. His eyes scan every word, and when he finishes, he lifts his gaze to stare at me again. Utter disbelief.
“An Ashmere speaking of retreating… that is the worst disgrace,” he whispers, almost to himself, and goosebumps rise on my skin. “For Varyn to even suggest retreat as the Great War strategist… it means no choice was available.”
My heart heaves at his words, and I lower my gaze with a sigh.
“I have been to the battlefield, Jurrek, I have seen how Ashmere warriors fought and died. I led the l battle and watched how the Demons fought. I killed them too. Slaughtered them. And trust me when this… they are fierce. Ancient. The memories of the cries in the battlefield still cling to my heart to this night. Yet, even head–to–head with Ashmere warriors, they would have been forced back. My father went there. My mother was the war general. My brother supervised the strategy. And yet they perished. Why?”
b
“Betrayal from within,” Jurrek murmurs, and I stare at him without blinking. “Betrayal that cornered them from all sides. Betrayal that exposed horrors that can never be spoken of. Betrayal that made Ashmere consider retreat for the first time in history. That kind of betrayal, my lady… is why they all perished.”
I lower my gaze and sigh shakily. My heart aching.

“I will ascend the Alpha’s seat, Jurrek,” I murmur softly. “I will have the Moon Goddess‘ blessing as a Female Alpha, and I will find my brother and bring him home. Whoever has hands in his disappearance and betrayal… they will pay. I swear it.”
He doesn’t speak. Not even once. Not at all. He just stares at me in silence, nodding in agreement, awaiting orders.
“I want everyone to believe I give up the search. Bring forth your most trusted men and have their families heavily compensated in case they die on this mission, Jurrek. Once I ascend the Alpha’s throne, I will write a formal letter to the one who said he has words about my brother. I will meet him at the date, time, and location he chooses.”
Jurrek nods again and says,
“Understood, my lady.” He searches my face one last time and sighs. “I’m sorry I have to step away as the beta of this pack now, but you should never worry. I will be beside you if ever you call.”
A small frown curls on my face.
“Why are you leaving?”
“You will be an Alpha. The elders speak of appointing a female beta for you. Remember, I am chosen as your brother’s beta. If I…”
“You will be my beta, Jurrek,” I say, cutting him firmly. “Whoever opposes that loses everything. You will take the vow with me when the Moon Goddess blesses me. Do you understand?”
He lets out a heavy sigh and bows again.
“Yes, my lady.”
I look away and blink. My heart heavy once more. Only the Moon Goddess knows how and where my brother is now. Only the Moon Goddess knows.
“His lover’s name was mentioned in the letter,” Jurrek’s voice comes again. “That alone makes her forever his. It’s a claim that she belongs to him even in death.”
I swallow hard and nod. That’s right. An Ashmere word, especially one like Varyn’s, is law. Chapters first released on
“Dessyn will wait for him. Her body, soul, smile, and everything is Varyn’s, and when he returns… we will all rejoice.” I turn to Jurrek and nod. “We will all laugh.”
He reaches for my hand and gives it a squeeze. He must have seen my struggle for control, and he nods as though to say he admires my strength.

Footsteps, soft, yet heavy. Then the pounding of hooves, echoing through the battlefield. A sharp command leaves my lips before I charge, my Great War horse propelling me forward with feral speed.
Blood splashes as I slash my way through the chaos. Ahead, a portal opens, and from it crawl creatures that have no right to exist in this shifter empire. Demons, their limbs slick with darkness, pour forth.
Rain of arrows suddenly hails down.
“Shield!” I scream, and the command echoes. One arrow comes from behind
, but before it can pierce me, a shove from behind. Moon deflects it. He takes the arrow in my stead and falls to the ground.
The formation breaks. My warriors falter, distracted by the sudden chaos.
Before I can steady myself, blood and screams spill around me. Heads roll, shields shatter.
“Cowards,” I murmur under my breath but then I see her. From ahead, the demon general, her face hidden in shadow. She leads the attack with precision and
cruelty, leaving a trail of Ashmere warriors‘ bodies in her wake.
I surge forward. Retreat is not an Ashmere option. My warriors follow. Suicidal, but loyal. We have the Moon Goddess‘ blessing. Rituals for protection and luck completed.
We reach the portal, and I swing my blade, splitting the unholy spell as it grumbles and recoils.
The Demon war general freezes, horror on her face, and charges again. Darkness surges from her. So thick, choking, corrupting everything it touches. Her horse gallops in rhythm with mine, blades drawn. We clash,
sparks flying as I roll and parry, the impact rattling my bones.
Before I can blink, my helm falls. My long hair cascades down, my face revealed. I meet her gaze, eyes I will never forget, the ones that haunt my nightmares to this night.
A soft voice shakes me.
“My lady? My lady?”
I suddenly jerk awake, swiftly reaching for my blade behind the bed, aiming it at her.
Visions blur. My senses wither. When the sound of running footsteps comes, I blink again and realize it is a nightmare and the one I have threatened with my blade is no one but Blue. The rightful source is find{n}ovel.net
I drop the sword immediately. Instead of moving away for safety, away from me who has just threatened her life, she rushes to hug me, as though to bring me back to reality.
For a long time, I stay in her arms, my heart racing.
Many reasons I left Ash Pack after the war five years ago come to mind. This is among them. The nightmare that refuses to leave.
I blink again, and Blue pulls back to bow.

“I’m sorry, My lady. I… I was only worried about you.”
Isolde, who has watched with concern with the maids, steps forward in anger.

“You dare not touch an Ashmere. She is going to be an Alpha. How dare you hug her?” she snaps at Blue, but I hold out a hand in exhaustion.
“Let her be.”
I swallow hard and slowly look down at the sword on the floor. Same one that has earned me nothing but victory. Gently, I pick it up and return it to its sheath easily.
I place it behind the bed where I withdrew it and sigh shakily.
“Milady?” Isolde comes forward, worried. “Are you okay? Perhaps…”
“I am fine,” I murmur, leaning back, my head resting on the pillow. Blue comes to draw the blanket over me, then dries the beads of sweat from my forehead.
“My lady,” she calls in concern, kneeling on the floor and taking my hand. “I’m worried about you.”
My heart tightens at her genuine gaze, and I lower my eyes. This is it. I haven’t even become an Alpha, and I have already started sleepless nights.
“Tell me a story,” I whisper softly to her, and she stares at me innocently. “Start speaking.”
Isolde hears this and walks ahead again.
“My lady, she shouldn’t be in the same chamber with you, not…‘
“Leave us.” I cut her off, and silence falls. After a while, she nods and walks out, followed by the rest of the
maids.
When the door closes, I swallow hard and nod to Blue, repeating,
“Start speaking.”
She sits on the fur rug she had spread, and with her hand still holding mine, she begins.
“There lived a young orphan. Assigned as a maid in the Royal home. Working for the first Princess, she learned gentleness and kindness. Working for the second Princess, she learned to mask her feelings with rage and bluntness. She moved away later to work with another great woman. She is loved and treated with kindness. She is favored all the time, and as time passes, she begins to grow tired of receiving. Instead, she wants to give.”
Her eyes lock with mine, and I stare back in silence. I know who she mean. I know who is the young orphan in her story.
Gently, I ask,
“If you are given the opportunity to give back, what can you sacrifice?”
“As if my heart isn’t already yours, my lady,” she replies, moving forward, her hand holding mine more tenderly, goosebumps curling on my skin. “I see you struggle, and it breaks my heart. You put on a brave

face and will sit on the high throne. You didn’t eat the dinner placed before you. You eye your elders with doubt and stare at your family with uncertainty. That has been how my King has lived, until he began to believe no one loved him and never would.”
I blink and slowly flutter my eyes closed. It is already taking its toll on me. To have no one to trust. I can’t detect them.
“I will be called to the holy chamber where the Moon Goddess resides,” I whisper before opening my eyes to stare at her. “You will stay behind and learn to stand on your two feet. Obey when you are commanded. Join the maids in tasks and listen with your expression/straight and uninterested. With that, you will have information on who wishes me well and who doesn’t. You are a Lycan. You will feel their energy more clearly. Show me what you’ve got, and I will decide if you can join in the quest that only includes my most trusted allies.”
Back Where 103
I head out, flanked by my court ladies and guards. Jurrek bows in greeting, and I bypass him in silence.
The doors to the long hall swing wide open, and I step inside, pausing. There she stands. The great Priestess of Ash Pack. She had once worked alongside Dessyn’s mother, but now Morwen’s presence is no longer needed. This one is enough. Updates are released by find[ɴ]ovel.net
I make my way to the seat. Heads bow around me, but I ignore them all, taking my place with eyes fixed on the priestess ahead. She remains bowed, even as the others straighten, at ease.
I’ve received the information that the Moon Goddess has given a sign, supporting my ascension but there is a condition. A date, a time has been assigned. My visit to the holy chamber is ordained, and I am here to hear her message of light. The condition.
“Zephyrine Ashmere. You will be the first ever Female Alpha,” the Priestess finally speaks, her voice echoing through the hall. “Your great white wolf will undergo the transformation from a mere werewolf to an Alpha but there is a clause.”
I swallow hard, eyes fixed ahead. She straightens fully, gaze unwavering.
“The Moon Goddess requests your presence in the holy chamber tonight. This is a journey you must take alone.” Silence falls, goosebumps rising across my skin. “Rituals will be performed to pray for your safe return. Preparation awaits you, but once you step into the holy chamber, you will emerge as an Alpha.”
I heave a breath as she drops the next revelation.
“And once you become an Alpha, you will belong to no man except the one you are fated to be mated with.”
Everything shatters. Coldness surges through me. Did I hear that correctly?
“No man may claim you, nor may you lay with any, unless you seek the Moon Goddess‘ wrath,” she continues, walking toward me. “No creature may bind you except the one she has destined for you.”
She stops before me, holding my gaze.
“Once the Moon Goddess blesses you as Alpha, you will not be involved with any creature, any man, any Alpha, or any King unless you are mates. Failure to obey… Ash Pack will fall.”
Lay with no man? Such a cruel condition. My chest heaves under the weight of the task. My mind twists toward Lycannar, and I know he will go mad if I do not return at the time I promised him,
Slowly, my gaze drops to the ring on my finger. Coldness surges through my veins. The Moon Goddess surely hates Lycannar enough to issue this decree. She wants to take me from him, to make sure he is not happy. No wonder her statue weakens him. But why?
***
Under the night sky, I make my way toward the holy chamber. There are many things I can overlook, many people I will never stand against but if the Moon Goddess chooses to act unfairly, perhaps it is time to meet her gaze and never bow.

The pack is cloaked in silence, thick with tension. This is the moment when an Alpha candidate faces trials.
I stop before the holy chamber door. I’ve heard the tales from my father, who entered and returned with blessings from the Moon Goddess. He claimed it took no more than an hour, though time runs differently in the empire. He had spent an entire week, believing it was only one hour.
Now, standing before the door, I pray it takes no longer than necessary. There is much to do, and many awaiting me.
I take a step forward, then stop again. Every Alpha who crosses this threshold returns with a gift, alongside the Goddess‘ blessing. My father returned with a great sword, one that conquered all battles except the last, which defied all reason.
I wonder what I will bring back. Slowly, I turn my gaze to Jurrek. He alone earns my trust among the Ash Pack members for now. We exchange a look, an understanding passing between us.
Blue nods gently when I looked at her. Everything is in motion. It is time for me to rise to glory.
I turn from everyone who has accompanied me and walk forward, pushing the door open.
The moment I step in, it slams shut behind me and Darkness, thick, suffocating darkness swallows me whole.

“Inform the packs we trade with that we’ll be renewing our partnership, especially Horn Pack. They’ve been begging for it. Tell the Alpha we’ll be signing more deals.”
“Alright, Alpha Nyroth,” he replies and leaves immediately, eager to complete the errand. I remain seated for a long moment, lost in thought.
A week has passed since the meeting where we would reject one another, a week remembering how she stood fiercely against my mother, my sister, and Kaela.
I’ve always felt something about Zeph didn’t add up. Now I know. She is nothing but a whore. She must have lied about her virginity to gain my favor, and now, catching the Lycan King’s attention, she dares raise her voice in my face. Original content can be found at fındnovel.net
I set my jaw hard. She hasn’t even flinched seeing Kaela in my arms. Something that usually is enough to break her heart.
I lower my gaze to think. The hairpin.. she must have stolen it from Kaela. If not, why wasn’t she there that night when I woke?
I rise from my seat and push open the door to my office.
Down the hall, whispers reach me. It’s my sister and mother. I push open the door, and Olivia nearly jumps out of her skin. She steps back quickly, hiding the result of her trial test, again, for the healing school.
I study her face, and slowly, I understand. I walk into the living room, extending my hand.
“Give it to me.”
“But…”
“Now!” I snap. She shudders and passes me the paper, retreating behind our mother.
I glance down. Failed again. I swallow hard. Slowly, I look up, but my mother steps forward.
“You can’t blame her. Your mate has already traumatized her enough. On the eve of her trial, That Rogue of a mate came to insult and stress her. If only you had acted sooner…”
Zeph. Again?
“At the trial, everyone whispered there was no healer like the Princess in the Lycan Kingdom. If only Zeph could help me meet her…” Olivia complains, voice trailing off as I stare harder.
I sigh.
Olivia is right. I’ve seen the Lycan princess heal. She works miracles, detecting cures in seconds. But Zeph won’t help. She’s a liar and a useless rogue. Maybe Kaela.
O
I swallow and turn to my sister.

“You should get ready. I’ll arrange a meeting with the Lycan princess for you.”
“Really?!” she exclaims, then, under my gaze, nods and withdraws.
“Do you think you can?” my mother asks, worry in her voice. “We all know how much the Lycan King protects his sisters. Zeph won’t help.”
“Don’t worry. I’ll find a way.”
I leave the living room and mount my horse outside. Under the hot sun, I ride to Blackbridge Pack. Over the weeks, much has changed. Those who held/power under Alpha Black have lost everything, titles gone, and slaves now outnumber nobles.
I approach the council chamber, hearing voices inside.
“You mean Ash Pack is the weakest? Oh no. We can’t…”
“It is,” Kaela’s voice interrupts. I push open the door. “It’s a pack without an Alpha. They’ve weakened after five
years of war. No festivals, no trade. We must save them.”
Overhearing this makes me stunned. I walk into the council chamber.
Inside, Alpha Yadev sits at the head of the table, Kaela standing beside him. They plot their next attack.
“Of all packs, Ash Pack?” I warn her.
“They were warriors. We saved Blackbridge from an infant ruler. We must save Ash Pack from rotting,” she says, taking my hand gently. “I actually wanted to meet you tonight, Nyroth. We have things to discuss.”
I study her eyes.
“What is it?”
“Hue Pack… I’ll expand it for you.”
My eyebrows creased up in confusion.
“How?”
“By bringing Ash Pack and Blackbridge Pack into it. Combine them.”
“Impossible,” I say curtly. “We will…”
Her lips press against mine, silencing me. When she pulls back, my heart races.
It didn’t take long before everyone began to depart. The door closes behind us, leaving only Kaela and I. A smart woman, skilled at using her body and presence to her advantage.
She steps back, lowering her gaze, sadness forming.
“Years ago, I saved your life, Nyroth. Then I lost everything when the empire sent me on a mission for peace. I never knew you’d be mated to another, that you’d bring a woman into your home.”

“You doubt I saved you. You compare me to that rogue, and now… I don’t know who you are anymore.”
“Kaela, stop.” I cup her cheek, searching her eyes. “I feel nothing for Zeph. You know it. She insulted my mother, you, and my sister. In front of all elders. She must pay.”
“Hasn’t she paid with the heartache of knowing the Lycan King will marry another?”
“I want more. A disgrace to show everyone she’s nothing but a slut, a rogue, useless.” I lean to kiss her. “She is nothing like you.”
She smiles wickedly and suggested.
“How about a public rejection ceremony? Invite Alphas, Lunas, Betas, elders, pack members from near and far. Even the Lycan Kingdom. There, you’ll strip her of everything and expose her as the useless rogue she is. I can host it for you.”
Pleasure tingles through me. I kiss her again, agreeing to her wise words.

my sisters
I catch them in the act. I pause in the doorway of Mearez’s bedchamber, staring at her. Slowly, I shift my gaze to Serena, who quickly focuses on the wall as if seeing it for the first time.
I step further into the room, eyes flicking between the luggage and Mearez, now glaring at her.
A week has passed, tension flaring with every breath. The elders urge me to attend to Cyran Selric, arriving today with her father, as my bride.
Meanwhile, news came to the Black Tower just as I brood over my woman’s absence, the unending agony clawing at me.
News that says My sisters are leaving the Royal building for another home, and it turns me inside out. I swallow hard, staring at the maids as they rush out silently, obeying my unsaid command. The door clicks shut, leaving heavy silence.
“Unpack your dresses and go about your days as princesses,” I murmur.
Serena looks up, rubbing her nape, murmuring,
“Cyran Selric arrives today, and you will want to reject her. We don’t want you to suffer because of us.”
“We are not truly princesses anyway,” Mearez mutters softly. “We will move out to the…”
“Will you shut up?” I grit out. Both of you, will you shut it?”
“Lycan…”
“Call my name again and I’ll have you on house arrest for the rest of the year,” I snap at Serena. She frowns, knowing better than to call my words bkuff. She’s lived it once before.
I sigh shakily, running my fingers through my hair to steady myself. I walk toward Mearez, seated on the bed, and lower myself beside her.
“Serena?” I call, and she comes from behind, sitting as well. I stare at both of them. “I love you both… more than anything in this world, but that won’t stop me from inflicting pain if you push me.”
Fear flashes in their eyes, but they remain silent.
“I don’t want to hear it anymore. Anything about leaving? I will have none of it.”
“But it is true. Since father isn’t our biological father…” Serena begins, but pauses, meeting my gaze.
“Do you want me to send you to live with my brother Hades?” I ask.
She lowers her gaze, shaking her head. Of course she won’t want that. Hades is far worse than I am; while I grant freedom and daily tasks, Hades would never allow them to leave their chambers.

Understand?”
Silence falls, dead silence, until Mearez reaches for my hand, her eyes softening.
“Lycannar… how do you plan on handling a decree your father wrote? It will be hard… and one thing we don’t want is for you to suffer because of us again.”
“You’ve always protected us since childhood. Now you find the woman you love wholeheartedly. We don’t want to take you from her,” Serena adds.
Before I can respond, a gentle knock comes.
“Sire? Your future in–laws are here.”
I turn toward the door and rise, pushing it open to face the messenger. For a fleeting moment, I feel the urge to cut his throat for daring to call the Selrics my future in–laws but I let him live, for one reason. My promise to my woman.
I walk to the throne chamber, a place I haven’t been since my coronation because it reminds me of him, my father.
The door stands open, and I see them. Elders, my uncle Dareth, and ahead, the lady said to be my bride. Beside her, a potbellied man who must be her father.
I do not look them in the eye. I refuse to invite more sadness into my heart. I already have enough than to stare into their eyes and see deaths.
Sudden footsteps announce my sisters‘ presence. They’ve come to witness it, but Mearez steps forward to take my hand.
“Lycannar, listen. We are fine as commoners, as slaves. It’s nothing compared to what you endure for us,” she whispers but I walk past her.
“Your bride has arrived, Your Majesty. We would like to choose a date for the wedding ceremony,” Uncle Dareth says. I step away from the lady. She bows gently, her voice small.
“My King.”
I completely ignored her, settling my gaze on my Uncle Dareth and the elders, who stand to watch me bend to their will. I sigh and walk to the chair, sitting.
“Since Zephyrine left on her trip, I haven’t felt well, I am not in a good mood, and I will not spill unnecessary blood,” I murmur, rubbing my temple. “I will not marry anyone.”
The elders stiffen and my uncle Dareth hands me the scroll, as if to remind me.
“A royal decree,” he says, threatening.
“Royal decree of a dead man. Abusive,” I reply, slowly approaching. The elders step back, leaving him to my gaze. I take the scroll gently and lean in to whisper, “Do you know why I abandoned my father’s ashes in the public memorial hall in the werewolf world? Because I did not want him to find peace. Push me too hard…
