Ch. 111..115: The Rogue is a Female Alpha chapter 111-115

Back Where 111

The ascension for the Lycan Kingdom was in full swing, yet surprisingly, the King was nowhere in sight, just as absent as he had been at the afterparty of his coronation.

I settled into my seat beside Kaela, watching the hosts supervise as usual. We had all been invited. The hall was full, just as it had been for the coronation, yet she wasn’t here. Zeph.

Soft music played in the background, lulling me into slow nods. Kaela had been tasked with hosting the ceremony by Lord Dareth, though Apex seemed against it. The role was eventually handed to Dessyn, Zeph’s best friend.

Thinking of her made me reach for the wine on my table, taking a slow sip. Weeks had passed, and tomorrow night, under the full moon, I would reject her publicly.

Kaela had been carefully chosen as hostess. I knew she would execute it perfectly. Zeph would be disgraced, and she would regret ever choosing a cursed man so strange over me.

I lifted my goblet again, only to find it empty. Swallowing hard, I beckoned the maid walking past, assisting Dessyn.

“Refill my cup.”

“Yes, Alpha Nyroth,” she replied, moving to obey until Kaela intercepted the goblet, smirking with that familiar, wicked confidence.

“Don’t bother. The hostess should serve the cup,” Kaela said, raising an eyebrow at the maid.

“Ma’am, it’s our job to refill…”

“How dare you…”

Splash!

The sound echoed through the hall, silencing everyone. I stared at Kaela in disbelief.

Why…?

She had spilled the wine over the maid’s face, standing defiantly as all eyes turned toward them. Dessyn, issuing a silent protest to someone, froze in awe before quickly making her way toward our table.

She glared at the soaked maid, then fixed her icy stare on Kaela.

“What did you just do?”

“Correct a low–life omega because her boss won’t,” Kaela replied, flashing that seductive smile she always used to dominate. “Everyone, be honest. Do you approve of the hostess’s work?”

Before anyone could answer, Kaela nodded.

“It’s terrible, yes. Outdated songs, poorly served drinks, rude hosting. I, as envoy of peace, knows there are

many things wrong with it.”

She turned her gaze to Dessyn.

“You are a lowlife. I know your crazy friend bought you this position with her body. If not, you shouldn’t even be here among high–status people, being rude.”

“Bought it with her body? More like what you did to steal the pack your father ruled.”

Decorum fell heavy in the chamber. I could not stay seated. I sprang to my feet, pointing at Dessyn.

“Watch that sharp tongue of yours and Speak only facts!”

She did not falter, meeting me coldly.

“I speak fact. But why argue with a man who’s never been faithful to his mate?”

My blood boiled. I raised my palm to strike her but the door burst open, and she stepped in, interrupting the tension.

Dressed in a gown I had never seen, her hair cascading to her waist, Zeph moved with the quiet authority of

a queen.

Behind her, the maid Apex had gifted her is in attendance. My eyes traced her from head to toe, finally stopping on the ring around her finger. Apex’s.

The hall turned silent. A strange, commanding aura radiated from her as she stepped forward, and I swallowed hard at the undeniable truth.

“Zephyr,” Dessyn whispered, frozen at her presence, rushing into her embrace, making it look like Zeph had just returned from her journey.

Dessyn exchanged a silent conversation with her, then Zeph turned toward our table, walking with measured grace. Her eyes swept the maid, soaked in wine, then Kaela. Gazes filled with an understanding we did not understand. She scoffed. ʀᴇᴀᴅ ʟᴀᴛᴇsᴛ ᴄʜᴀᴘᴛᴇʀs ᴀᴛ FιndNovel.net

“You brought your rudeness into the Lycan Kingdom and spilled wine on their servant. You think you will be set free?”

Kaela straightened, smirking.

“Why? Will you tell your boyfriend?”

No sooner had she spoken than a cold wind swept through the hall. Every head turned, and there he was. After a long absence, he appeared. Unbothered yet bothered, as always. Long hair flowing, his presence more magnetic than I could admit.

Apex.

Dressed in black, his gaze low, avoiding direct eye contact, yet brimming with unspoken intensity. His eyes lifted to Zeph with the same unwavering, obsessive focus.

I watched him swallow hard, then a faint frown creasing his brow when he saw the maid who has been soaked with wine. He motioned carefully to the maid, careful not to meet her eyes.

“Where is Serena?” he murmured. One of his elder sisters rushed forward through the door. Not the gentle healer, but another, sharper presence. She froze at Zeph, moving cautiously, seeing the soaked maid.

“What…”

“It was done by this rude lady, Princess Seeena,” Dessyn explained. Apex turned to his sister.

“It is your task to maintain order among the commoners. No mere wolf shall harm my people. Make her pay,” he commanded.

I swallowed hard. Kaela stirred beside me, suddenly aware of her mistake.

The heat in the hall thickened until Apex’s eyes returned to Zeph. Without hesitation, he circled his fingers around her wrist. Together, they walked out, like two souls already bound to one another.

I arrived just in time to stop their rudeness yet again, though now that I was with Lycannar, I felt a strange reluctance.

Leaving Ash Pack had been heavy, but knowing I would return soon allowed me to complete the necessary tasks and depart. The road stretched long under the carriage wheels, and when I arrived at White Pack to leave my luggage, Alpha Auedric and Nathan greeted me with wide grins and newfound respect.

They had missed the ceremony due to trade obligations, which I understood, and left quickly to journey to this Kingdom, to the King who drew me into the silent dining hall.

In the shadows, I saw Chantel in his usual place. Slowly, I shifted my gaze to Lycannar, and my gods… what should I call this intensity in his eyes? Obsession? Desire? Both?

Back home, I had feared his obsession would have waned. I had feared arriving only to find he no longer wanted me. Instead, it had multiplied tenfold.

His gaze roamed my face, finally tracing down my body as if searching for hidden marks, bruises, or lingering aches.

Softly, his eyes fell on my fingers and the ring around one of them. Gently, he pulled me closer and cupped my cheek.

Without words, he leaned in to kiss me but at the last second, I pulled away, my heart thudding. Surprise flickered in his expression.

“Lycan…” I whispered. He paused, searching my eyes with a gaze that made my chest tighten. “I… I have something to tell you.”

He didn’t listen. Not a word. His eyes were fixed on my lips, the ones he craved desperately.

Gently, he grabbed my waist, bowing his head in restraint.

“I missed you,” he whispered, inhaling my scent. “You have no idea what your absence has done to me, Zephyrine. No idea at all.”

A lump rose in my throat. I wanted to confess, No. it is too much for both of us.

“Lycan..”

He ignored me, taking strands of my hair in his palm and inhaling deeply before lowering his mouth to my neck.

I swallowed hard, my eyes fluttering closed as his hands moved from my waist to lift me effortlessly.

In moments, I was in his arms, legs wrapped around his waist, as he carried me to the table. When he set me down, Lycannar’s need matched mine.

He slid his fingers under my gown, sending my chest heaving with pleasure and aching for his touch.

“Lycan… Lycannar, wait,” I whispered, but he wouldn’t listen. His lips came to claim mine, and my heart raced.

I look away at the last moment to call.

“Lycan, listen to me. Calm down.”

Finally, he obeyed, swallowing hard as he pulled back, trapping me gently with his hand on the table while I remained between him and the world.

I had his attention now, yet words eluded me. How could I tell him that the Moon Goddess who cursed him was the same who forbade me from bearing pups if I lay with a man I was not mated to? How could I explain that I could not give him my body without risking my pack’s wrath?

“What’s wrong?” His voice was soft. I looked up at him, and for a moment, jealousy flared at his unreal handsomeness.

When I remained silent, he leaned in, intending to kiss me, but I turned away, chest heaving.

“Lycan…” I called, heart pounding. “What if I can’t give you an heir?”

Silence swallowed the room. His gaze weighed on me like gravity, and I nearly fainted at the pounding of my heart.

He pulled back, stepping slightly away, still silent. Slowly, I met his pale–gold eyes.

“What happened?” he asked.

“I just… I…” My words failed me. His unwavering gaze made every breath a struggle.

“You don’t want to tell me what’s wrong?”

I fluttered my eyes up and shook my head.

“I want to,” I admitted.

“Go on.”

“Lycan…” I whispered his name and he stare in silence.

“Why are you hesitant? I am not even mad at you.”

I swallowed. I am a lady who have never have to fear or reluctance but before this man who I couldn’t predict his next actions makes me shiver.

I swallowed hard and beginning,

“During my trip I was…” but the words died as footsteps approached. Princess Mearez appeared, urgency in her eyes. Relief and happiness flashed across her face as she saw me.

“Zephyrine,” she called, and I gently stepped away from Lycannar to hug her. “My gods, I can’t believe you’re back!”

She checked me for bruises, but I smiled softly.

“I’m fine.”

“Thank goodness. My brother nearly went mad waiting for you. I am so glad you’re here.” My chest tightened at her words. This devotion was overwhelming. How would I tell him about the barrier that now stood between us?

“Lycannar, the moon is almost here. You need to…” Princess Serena started, rushing into the dining hall, stopping short when she saw me. She hugged me tightly. “I knew you would return. Thank you.”

Pulling back, she looked apologetic, then turned to Princess Mearez.

“The Steel Chamber. Let’s go.”

Princess Mearez nodded, eyes shifting to Lycannar.

“The full moon,” she warned. “You have less than ten minutes. You must hurry.”

The princesses glanced at me one last time before leaving with Chantel following quietly.

I turned slowly to Lycannar and for what seemed like eternity, he stood silently, gazing at me. Without a word, he stepped forward.

His hands curled around my neck, pulling me close, and he kissed me softly. I dared not resist. His patience had thinned, and the kiss was sinful, consuming, drawing me into him.

“My sisters will ensure you are safe. Mearez will ease your pain tomorrow after you reject that Alpha. I will wait in the Black Tower in two nights. Then we will talk. I also have something to tell you.”

Without hesitation, knowing he filled my heart, he kissed me again. This time staking a claim. The harder I tried to resist, the fiercer the fire between us.

Lycannar kissed me like he owned me, then turned and disappeared in the same direction his sisters had taken. I stood frozen, cold, wondering how I would survive a cursed King and still maintain peace as Alpha of my pack.

I walked under the broad night sky, my gaze drawn instinctively to the full moon peeking out, preparing to shine in all its glory tomorrow night.

Tonight was only the eve, yet even now, its silver light felt heavy with meaning.

Something was happening back there, something urgent, secret, and dark and I knew only a few in the Blood family were aware of it.

My thoughts drifted to what Morwen had said./ Dessyn’s mother. If only I had asked further. She had warned me about Lycannar under the full moon, about his hidden darkness. I had never doubted him, never questioned him but now… curiosity gnawed at me.

“Zephyr.” The call came from behind. I turned to see Dessyn rushing toward h

I didn’t respond. Instead, my gaze drifted to Blue, walking out from the hall ahead. Guests poured out of the Kingdom, leaving in a steady stream.

“Princess Serena demanded a public apology from Kaela for what she did to the maid,” Dessyn said, voice low. “I still can’t believe she hit a maid from the Lycan Kingdom. Didn’t she know they’re different?”

I nodded gently.

“I’m eager to see how she apologizes. I bet she’s never been forced to say it before.” I lowered my gaze and sighed, my heart aching. “I’m tired. I want to rest early.”

“I thought you’d be staying with Apex tonight,” Dessyn said softly. I remained silent. I couldn’t sleep at Lycannar’s home. It was difficult enough resisting his kisses in the dining hall. If I dared step into his bedchamber, into his hands, I knew I would forget my resolve instantly.

“You are an Alpha now,” Dessyn teased gently. I glanced at her, catching the sheepish grin. “Gods… I can’t wrap my head around it. Tell me, Great Alpha of Ash Pack. What is your spirit guard like? How did the moon goddess look like? How is everything and everyone at home? Should I start addressing you as Alpha Zephyrine?”

I stare at her for a while before I walked away in silence, heading toward my carriage. She followed, still teasing, until our eyes locked, and the playfulness drained from her face. Concern replaced her grin.

“Zephyr…”

“I’m exhausted. I just want to go home,” I murmured, letting her take my hand protectively and lead me into the carriage. Soon, Blue joined us.

“My lady?” Dessyn asked.

“Zephyr what do you say to Blue finishing up here with Moon? The party has already ended anyway.” Dessyn suggested and I nodded.

“Blue, finish up with Moon. Then come home with him afterward. Don’t travel back alone,” I instructed. She

nodded reluctantly. I can tell she didn’t want to keave me but she is bound by my order.

Blue bowed and departed to assist Moon, while Dessyn and I left for White Pack.

“Are you hungry? We have some…”

“No, I’m fine,” I said, making her step away from the door.

We arrived at White Pack under the late night sky, and I could do nothing but collapse onto the bed in silence. Dessyn lingered at the door, then approached gently. Nathan was away, and Alpha Auedric had left for an official meeting. The pack was silent, everyone asleep.

“Zephyr…” Dessyn’s voice broke the quiet. “What’s wrong?”

I lowered my gaze and swallowed. When I wouldn’t speak, she reached for my hand tenderly.

“Zephyr?”

I shrugged to hide my vulnerability, but ended up holding her tighter for support.

“I met the moon goddess, Dessyn,” I whispered. “She gave me her blessing.”

“That’s good news, isn’t it?”

“Not entirely.” My eyes met hers. “She gave too many clauses that could harm me and my pack. She said if I want pups, only Nyroth can give them to me without any hassle. If I reject him, the next second chance mate I receive will come with trials. If I don’t love him genuinely, we’ll never have pups.”

“Zephyr…”

“She did this as punishment,” I hissed, frustration tightening my chest. “She knows I’ve fallen for Lycannar beyond anything else. She knows he’s the love of my life. She’s trapped me. If I try to lay with anyone who isn’t my mate, my pack suffers. She knew I might rebel and be with Lycannar. Dessyn that’s why she added that clause.”

Dessyn’s eyes were full of concern. She sighed shakily.

“Have you told your man?”

I felt a chill run down my spine as I shake my head in the negative,

“Not yet.”

“Zephyr…” she whispered. “Apex, the Lycan King, which we both know… he won’t leave you.”

My chest tightened. She spoke the truth, and the goosebumps crawling up my arms confirmed it. ɴᴇᴡ ɴᴏᴠᴇʟ ᴄʜᴀᴘᴛᴇʀs ᴀʀᴇ ᴘᴜʙʟɪsʜᴇᴅ ᴏɴ finḑnovel.net

“He won’t be stopped by you, or even by the moon goddess. You know this, don’t you?”

I couldn’t respond, my thoughts spinning. Is this why I was gifted a dragon as a spirit guard? So it can save me from…

“It’s Moon and Blue,” she said softly.

I already knew. My senses were heightened as an Alpha. I could perceive scents from miles away, more deeply than ever. Something else lingered in the air now. A tension that made my skin crawl, a heat in my stomach that flared as footsteps approached.

Finally, the bedchamber door opened. Moon appeared first, handsome as ever, a chest in his hands, carried lightly. His eyes roamed before settling on me, and just like that, my heart clenched.

A brand–new bottle of deluxe wine. Two golden goblets. Four solid gold bars. These had been gifted to Dessyn as payment for hosting the ceremony of Lycannar and his new beta, Baron.

“Immediately after we finish, the Lycan Kingdom gates close,” Moon said from the doorway, clearly exhausted.

He reached for the wine, but Dessyn slapped his hand away.

“This is for a special occasion,” she claimed.

“What special occasion than to celebrate Zephyrine’s ascension as an Alpha? Plus, she’s going to reject Alpha Nyroth tomorrow night, so it calls for celebration,” Moon muttered.

Dessyn paused, her eyes lingering on the golden goblets for what seemed like an eternity.

“Gods, Apex Blood is so wealthy. How many people have gold bars and drinks served in golden goblets?”

“You forget he’s a king,” Moon muttered, reaching for the wine again. This time, Dessyn allowed him.

“Did you see any of the Lycan Princesses before you left?” I asked, speaking for the first time. He shook his head, eyes on me. For a moment, we simply stared at one another. Finally, he asked, “Are you okay?”

Before I could answer, the door opened gently, and Blue appeared.

“My lady, Alpha Auedric is here. He wants to see you.”

“I’ll be out soon,” I replied. She nodded and left as I rose gently.

“Maybe he’s come to celebrate with us. Moon, pour the wine,” Dessyn said, lively, carrying the golden goblets into the living room.

There I saw Alpha Auedric, invitation parchment in hand, his gaze moving from me to the wine in Moon’s

hand.

“Goodness. It looks perfect,” he murmured. Moon poured him some, and after a sip, his eyes went wide. “Gods! Where did this come from?”

“The Lycan Kingdom,” Dessyn replied proudly. “The Lycan King gifted it to me for hosting his ceremony.”

“Really?”

“We should request a trade with the Lycan King sometime soon,” he said thoughtfully, then turned to me. “Or what do you think, Zephyr? Or should I call you Alpha Zephyrine?”

“Oh yes,” he said, taking another sip of wine from the goblet before handing me the invitation parchment.

“My beta just gave it to me now that I arrived from an official meeting. It’s from Hue Pack. They’re inviting all and sundry to his rejection ceremony tomorrow night. I really hope it’s not what I think it is.”

A frown creased my brow as I unfolded the parchment. Moon and Dessyn leaned in beside me, their eyes on the writing.

There it was. The Alpha of Hue Pack would be rejecting his mate tomorrow night and wanted all to witness the woman who had “cheated and betrayed him.”

“I can’t believe this,” Moon hissed, disgusted. “I still don’t know why you haven’t ordered that Alpha to be slaughtered.”

“Spilling blood unnecessarily isn’t what Zephyr does, Moon,” Dessyn replied, finishing with a sharp glance. “However, Nyroth still needs to be taught a lesson.”

“The party will be hosted by Kaela Yadev,” Alpha Auedric added. “That’s a heads–up. They’re planning to disgrace you publicly. The invitation went to the Lycan Kingdom too. Apex might be there. His sisters, too.”

I stared at the parchment, then sighed gently. Just when I had resolved to respect him one last time as my first mate, just when I had thought I could leave quietly as Zephyrine the rogue…

“And I even considered leaving quietly, just as Zephyrine,” I muttered under my breath.

“Maybe it’s time to end the rumors once and for all, Zephyr,” Dessyn said and Alpha Auedric nodded in

agreement.

“The insult, the taunts, the belittling… don’t you think it’s time to show everyone your truth? You are an Ashmere, an Alpha. Ash Pack will need you, and you won’t be able

won’t be able to avoid public meetings any longer.”

I nodded, heaving a heavy sigh. Coming out after five years as an Ashmere, as an Alpha… I could almost imagine how stunned everyone would be. But what concerned me most was Lycannar Blood, the man who now dominated my heart. I wondered how he would react if he learned the truth about me.

I bit my lower lip and asked, almost to myself,

“Do you think my identity will settle well with… the Lycan King? I mean… I don’t care what others think, but I just… I don’t know if Lycannar will have a problem with me being an Alpha.”

Silence answered me instead. As I looked around, I nearly sagged. Even Alpha Auedric, usually so adept at reading people, gulped down his wine and passed the goblet to Moon with a small nod of appreciation.

“We will be there tomorrow, Zephyrine. To wish you all the best. For now… goodnight,” he said, turning to leave, stepping out into the night.

Back Where 115

Bright, almost as day, the full moon blessed us. The elders had been called. The priestess of Hue Pack was on standby, and guests were starting to arrive.

Kaela Yadev never disappoints. It was as though she wanted to prove she could host a ceremony better than Dessyn, as though she wanted everyone to see that the Lycan King had chosen wrong by not letting her host his party. As though to get revenge for what happened last night at the Lycan Kingdom.

I stood at the window, fully dressed for the night, staring up at the radiant full moon. It reminded me of her. Zeph. It was as the night itself when I had met her and realized she was fated for me.

Five years ago, when I was at my lowest.

I lowered my gaze and tried to shrug off the feeling. I deserved more than what the moon goddess had given me.

“My goodness. Look at how beautiful she is.”

“Wait until you step into the ceremonial hall. You’ll see how she prepared everything,” came another voice.

“But… who is the mate of Alpha Nyroth?”

“We’ll find out tonight. Come on. Let’s go,” someone replied.

I overheard the guests moving inside, saying, and just then, a carriage arrived. I focused on the crest of Blackbridge Pack. Under my watchful gaze, Kaela rushed out of the ceremonial hall to welcome her father, who had arrived.

Her flowing dress caught my attention, and I swallowed hard at how elegant she was, how she carried herself with effortless grace.

Kaela.

I watched her father dismount the carriage. Graceful as ever. The great Alpha of Blackbridge Pack.

We had discussed further plans to save Ash Pack. After reaching out to Horn Pack and others for support, I had instructed Kaela to wait for their feedback. Once received, we would set the rumors straight and protect

Ash Pack members.

A small growl escaped me as I noticed the men sneaking glances at Kaela. She was elegant enough to attract attention.

Lost in jealous thoughts, I froze when I heard footsteps approaching.

“Alpha Nyroth, you are needed in the hall,” Kai’s voice called, and I exhaled.

After what happened weeks ago at White Pack, when Zeph had savagely banged his head, no one hated her more than my beta now.

I turned to see him prepared, and I nodded. Together, we headed out. In the living room, I saw my mother

also ready. She paused when she saw me, then a wide grin spread across her face.

Quickly, she rushed to hug me tightly. Pulling back, her excitement was palpable.

“Thank you for finally doing this, Nyroth. Thank you so much.”

I should have listened to you all along. Zeph is a rogue. Not just that. She is violent, a killer. Tonight, I will expose her before everyone.”

“I trust Kaela to handle that part well. I’ll get Olivia, and we will come soon,” she said, and I nodded.

Leaving the living room. I entered the long ceremonial hall where the rejection would take place. The priestess was still busy with the rituals, and the hall was filling with guests, each at their reserved table.

At the high table for the Lycan Kingdom, no one occupied it yet, and for a brief moment, panic fluttered in me. I wanted them to come and see for themselves what Zeph truly was. Especially Apex Blood. Perhaps when he realized the woman he was obsessed with was nothing but a violent, murderous rogue, he would

turn away.

“Alpha Nyroth,” a voice called behind me, and I turned to see White Pack arriving. Alpha Auedric, who had summoned me, stepped forward with a polite smile. Behind him were his beta and a few elders.

Ahead, Dessyn arrived with her younger brother and her father, and I nearly smiled in satisfaction. Good. They would see how worthless the so–called Zeph really was.

“Thank you for inviting us to your ceremony. I thought you never had a mate,” Alpha Auedric said, loud enough that the bustling hall quieted.

I offered him a gentle smile, but before I could speak, Kaela stepped forward, nodding with her sweet, composed smile.

“Why don’t you wait for the mate to arrive? You’ll see for yourself,” she replied. For a brief moment, I thought I saw Alpha Auedric smirk, then he nodded and moved to the table reserved for White Pack, settling in.

I watched him for a moment before Kaela’s hand came to mine, steadying me.

“We’ve prepared everything, Nyroth. In a few minutes, the ceremony will start. Should I add that she’s a whore and a cheater too?” she asked, and I swallowed hard.

Just then, the entrance opened again, and everyone froze. The two Lycan Princesses had arrived.

A historic first. Lycans invited to a Werewolf ceremony, honored guests no less. I stood still, watching them move gracefully into the hall. Heads turned; their grace was intoxicating, the thrill undeniable.

“You should add that she’s a thief too, Kaela. She stole, she cheated, she’s violent,” I said, gritting my teeth. Kaela smiled, clearly pleased.

She walked over to the Lycan Princesses and bowed. Whether we liked it or not, the Lycans were still above us. Kaela directed them to their reserved table, respectful and tactful, though they barely noticed her.

They were still waiting for an apology from Kaela for her rude actions at the beta ceremony the previous

night. I sighed, wondering if Apex would appear.

In that moment, a powerful energy filled the ceremonial hall, making my heart clench. I realized it was not Apex, though at first I thought it was.

She arrived in grand style, as though celebrating the fact she would be rejecting me.

Zeph.

Clad in a white flowing gown, her shoulder bare by design, her long black hair cascading down her back, she entered. Soft gasps echoed around the hall. When she stepped in, it felt as though I didn’t exist.

Her eyes sought the Lycan Kingdom’s table alone, as if nothing else mattered, and just like that, she made her way there. She bypassed me entirely, as though I were invisible.

That action infuriated me, and I swallowed hard. Just as I had planned not to expose her about the stolen money she had offered me at the start of our courtship, tonight, it would finally come to light. I
