Ch. 321..325: The Rogue is a Female Alpha chapter 321-325
Back Where 321
I woke up to find myself in a familiar yet strangely new bedchamber. My head turned slowly. and I realized I was in Lycannar’s rooin, in the restored Black Tower.
A soft sigh of relief escaped my lips, and I began to sit up when a gentle but firm voice halted
“Don’t you dare.”
Princess Mearez sat at the table. I hadn’t noticed her before. She was carefully packing up her healer’s tools, and once she finished, she came to sit beside me, her eyes searching mine.
The silence between us was so heavy it made me swallow hard. My mind raced. What happened?
Wait, earlier today, I went to the Ash Pack. Varyn and I fought. Jurrek came between us, took a stand, and shocked Varyn to silence. Then… I said my farewell and left, feeling dizzy and weak.
The memory hit me fully then. I arrived here, and passed out.
gods. I passed out right before Lycannar?
“Where is my mate?” I asked suddenly, my heart quickening.
Princess Mearez placed her cool palm on my forehead, checking my temperature. A quiet sigh escaped her lips.
“I have never seen my brother as scared as he was today,” she said softly. “So worried… so shaken. Do you have any idea what you did to him?”
I looked down, speechless, blinking slowly. I could imagine it.
“I’ve been dizzy lately,” I murmured. “Nauseous. I thought it was lack of sleep, the stress, my appetite…”
“That’s not it, Zephyrine.” Mearez’s voice gentled as she cupped my cheek. “No. That’s not what’s been weighing you down, and not why you fainted.”
My heart thudded hard.
“Wait… am I… dying?” I asked.

“You’re program, Zephyame the whispered. Her voice trembled as rears gathered in her eyes.
You’re crying the heh, on heiress, of this kingdom”
Hier words struck like lightning. My breath caught, and disbelief flooded me.
“Program!” Techoed. “How could I be pregnant? That’s impossible. The Moon Goddess told me I could never bear a child until I accepted my second–chance mate wholeheartedly, and…”
“And haven’t you done that already?” Mearez interrupted softly. Her eyes were steady on mine. “You know what Lycannar is, yet you still love him. Your brother raised an army to destroy this kingdom, and you chose love over blood. You saw his horns, his true self, yet you didn’t flinch. You didn’t choose a race, Zephyrine, you chose him. You shared his bed without fear. Tell me, isn’t that acceptance?”
Her words sank deep, stirring tears in my eyes. My throat burned.
“Why am I so blessed then?” I whispered. “Lycannar is the man I love, the one the Moon Goddess granted me. He and I spoke so often of pups… and now she’s granted it. Why am I so blessed, Princess Mearez? Or did the Goddess give me this joy only to take it away in the end?”
At that. Mearez sighed heavily. The look she gave me was full of love and worry. The war loomed over us like a storm, and she knew it.
“Lycannar is downstairs pacing,” she said quietly. “He’ll come soon to know why you fainted. You’ll be his wife in days, and I’ll give you the honor of telling him yourself…”
“Can I keep it a secret for now?” I interrupted suddenly.
Her eyes widened in disbelief.
“He’s the father of this pup, Zephyrine. He has every right to know this instant.”
“I know,” I said quickly, sighing. “But you know how Lycannar is. The moment he finds out, he’ll forbid me from stepping foot in battle. He’ll shield me from everything and fight alone. I can’t let that happen. This war began with my brother, it’s my fight too. Please, Princess Mearez. Let me tell him when I’m ready.”
She looked torn. I could see her wanting to refuse, to scold me, but she knew I was right. If Lycannar learned I was pregnant, his protectiveness would become suffocating. As if it wasn’t
even now.
Finally, she exhaled deeply.

I nodded, my heart swelling with gratitude and respect for her. She leaned forward, kissed my forehead gently, and whispered, Original content can be found at FιndNovel.net

I nodded again, bracing myself. Soon, Lycannar would walk through that door and my heart was not ready.

I tried sitting up, running my fingers through my hair to appear a bit more composed, a bit more alive.
I was breathing steadily, trying to keep my pulse in check, when the sound of footsteps echoed down the corridor. My throat went dry instantly.
I dabbed at my face, forcing a small smile, and turned toward the door just as it opened.
Lycannar stood there in the doorway.
I’d seen him calm, angry, even deadly before, but never like this. Never so quiet, so unreadable. I’d never passed out in his arms before, and the thought of how he might react now sent my heart racing.
“H…hi,” I stuttered, trying to smile.
He said nothing. His gaze fixed on me, traveling down my body before slowly rising back to my face.
Still silent, he crossed the room and sat on the chair, burying his face briefly in his palms before staring ahead into the emptiness.
The silence was heavy, unbearable. My nerves buzzed beneath my skin. When he finally turned his eyes to me, my breath caught, and I bit my lower lip.
“How do you feel now?” he asked softly.
“Fine. Much better now,” I replied quickly, rubbing the back of my neck. “I must’ve been tired. I haven’t been sleeping well and…”
The rest of my words faded as I saw his expression remain unchanged. I sighed quietly.
“Lycan… I’m so sorry I passed out.”
He looked at me for a long moment before nodding.
“You don’t need to apologize. I was worried about you,” he said quietly. “And furious at myself for letting things get so bad that you’d collapse from exhaustion.”
Exhaustion. That’s what he thought.
s
My heart clenched at the thought. I swallowed hard, telling myself this secret was for the best,
for now.
“I’m fine,” I assured him again.
He didn’t respond, but I could see tension in the set of his jaw. So I got out of bed and crossed to him, lowering myself onto his lap. His hands found my waist automatically, thumbs tracing slow circles against my skin.
He looked up at me, and I reached to cup his cheek, smiling softly.
“I was afraid you’d be angry with me… for worrying you.”
“I am angry with you,” he murmured, his tone deceptively calm.
I blinked.
“Lycan..”
“You should be punished,” he went on, voice low but teasing. “For scaring your king. Maybe I’ll have you kneel in the courtyard.”
I pinched his chest lightly, and his lips twitched into a faint smile. For a heartbeat, the tension between us melted away, replaced by quiet laughter. But then, his mask fell completely. The emotion in his eyes was raw, too real.
“I don’t know what I’d do if anything ever happened to you,
Zephyrine,” he said. “I’m not a man who prays to the Foremother… but I did tonight. When you collapsed, I begged her whatever harm was meant for you, let it fall on me. Any agony fated for you, let me carry it. And if destiny ever decided your life should be short… I’d trade mine for yours.”
Emotion surged through me. His words hit deep, sacred in their devotion. I looked at him and, for what must have been the thousandth time, knew I had chosen right.
I leaned down and pressed my lips to his, a soft, lingering kiss.
When I pulled away, he searched my eyes.
“How was your trip to Ash Pack?” he asked gently.
The question made me pause. Slowly, I slipped off his lap and sat across from him at the table.
“Varyn wants the Alpha seat back,” I said quietly.
He raised an eyebrow.

“My spirit guard,” I murmured. “If I’m stripped of my Alpha title, Le Fey will vanish.”
He went still for a moment before asking.
“Le Fey?”
“The Dragon.”
“Oh. Unique name. And your response?”

“I signed the decree but I won’t attend the ritual yet. I need time. If my dragon disappears, Varyn will start another wave of war. I need to be sure.”
Lycannar was silent for a long while. Then, to my surprise, he said,
“Maybe you should give him what he wants.”
I stared.
“What? No, I can’t.”
“You’re disobeying
I paused, gathering my words carefully so it wouldn’t sound I am disobeying.
“You have no army, Lycan,” I said softly. “Le Fey is the only weapon we have strong enough to deter him. If I lose my spirit guard now, we lose our advantage, and he knows it.”
He sighed, his expression tightening.
“Until when will we live watching over our shoulders? How long can you keep buying time?” His tone softened. “I’ve thought about it, really thought about it. You’ve done enough. More than enough. When we marry, I don’t want my wife bleeding on battlefields anymore. Let me finish what your brother started. Give him back the title, let’s end this war once and for all.”
“Lycan… you have no army,” I repeated, my voice trembling slightly.
“I am the Demon Prince,” he said simply. “The Abyss army will answer my call.”
I stared at him, shaking my head.
“That’s not how it works. The Abyss army follows their warlord. They don’t take orders from anyone else.”
He held my gaze steadily.
“And what if that warlord is my brother?”
The words hit me like ice. I froze completely.
“What?” I whispered.

“Five years ago,” he said quietly, “the warlord leading the Abyss army was my brother, Hades. He’s the one your brother trapped with lies. The truce they spoke of was never real. Varyn set a death trap instead.”

“So your brother is the Abyss Warlord?” I couldn’t fathom it. “He led your army to their deaths. He placed them in the front line.”
“It was an order from Father. He dared not disobey him,” he replied, helping me out of my gown and sliding off my underwear. When he turned me to face him, I still couldn’t comprehend it.
“You know,” I began, unable to stop my thoughts, “the first time I saw your brother, his presence didn’t strike me much. But the second time I stood face–to–face with him, I felt something divine, like power radiating from him. He carries himself like royalty, like a warrior born. I thought it was just because he’s your half brother, the prince of this kingdom, but now I see why he’s so confident. So he’s a warlord? How fierce is he?”
I spoke too much. Lycannar took my hand and led me toward the bath chamber, pushing the door open gently and pulling me in with him.
It felt like a surprise. Candles glowed in every corner, and a pool of clear, steaming water awaited in the center.
“My brother is the finest warrior I have ever seen,” he said, voice calm, “but in terms of strength and skill… I don’t mean to brag, but I am different.”
“I already know that,” I murmured, turning to him. “You’re a hybrid. Different.”
I met his gaze, but when he stepped closer with a mischievous smile, I instinctively stepped back. “Stop, what are you doing?”
“Trying to bathe you. What else?” he asked, almost innocently, but I knew better. I knew what that look meant.
I put some distance between us, sighing shakily, smiling at my own nervousness. It wasn’t the first time we’d bathed together, yet my heart was fluttering uncontrollably. Was it because I was pregnant?
“Fine,” he said softly. “If you don’t want to, it’s fine.”
His understanding tone made me look up at him in awe.
“Lycannar…” I called. “No, I wasn’t trying to deny you your right.”

He blinked, confused, and I realized what I’d implied. His restraint, did that mean I no longer drew him in?
“Lycannar…” I whispered, watching him search my face again.
“What’s wrong with you tonight?” he asked quietly. “You’re getting too emotional. Is there something I don’t know?”
I quickly looked away before he could read the truth in my eyes. Stepping into the pool, I let my anger at him mask my fear.
He joined me soon after, undressing and slipping into the water. When he reached for the soap, I held on a little too tightly.
“Alright, I’m sorry,” he murmured, coming behind me to kiss my shoulder. “I just feel something’s wrong with you lately.”
I turned slowly to face him, my heart softening at his gorgeous face.
“Why do you say that?”
“Because you seem… scared I’ll stop loving you,” he said gently. His eyes caught mine, and I froze. He was right. “That’s not going to happen, Zephyrine. I already promised I won’t reject you. The woman who stayed with me at my lowest deserves to stand by me at my highest. Loved, worshiped, and cherished.”
He took the soap from my hand and sighed, gazing at me with that same quiet tenderness.
“Let me handle the battle that’s coming, Zephyrine,” he said. “All I ask is that you stay out of it. Let me finish it, put your brother in his place. I won’t kill him, I swear, but that’s the most I can promise. Let me end this.”
Emotions swirled in my chest. His eyes held a storm of love and fear, and in that moment, everything aligned. I understood.
“You once asked if I had a dragon,” I whispered. “Why?”
He hesitated, then met my gaze.
“Because I saw you on one.”
4.
“And” My throat tightened. His silence confirmed it.
“You saw my death.” I said quietly.
“In a few days,” he muttered at last. “In war. Your brother… will kill you.”

I stood before the mirror, loosening my damp hair so it fell around my waist, yet I still couldn’t wrap my head around it that my death would come from my own brother. The very brother I had loved, cherished, laughed, and dined with.
I would have called Lycannar’s words a bluff, such a big, cruel bluff, if I hadn’t already witnessed the truth of his visions. If I didn’t know how much power his curse held.
He had once said Kai would die soon… and he did. That alone was proof that when it came to death, Lycannar’s words were law.
“Don’t do that,” his voice came from behind me, calm but firm. I turned to see him watching me, nodding toward my fingers, which were nervously twisting together.
Gently, he crossed the distance between us and stopped just a step away from the mirror. For a moment, he hesitated, then stepped up behind me, wrapping his arms around my waist.
I looked at our reflection, us together, and felt a quiet blessing I never thought I’d have.
“I’ll be right here for you, always,” he murmured softly against my ear. “If it ever feels too heavy and you need to weep, my shoulder is well padded, Zephyrine.” He turned me around, his hands cupping my cheeks. “I love you. And that love is enough to last us this lifetime.”
I sighed shakily, his assurance easing the storm inside me. Rising on my toes, I kissed him gently, loving him more deeply than before.
I was about to speak when the sudden sound of porcelain shattering downstairs broke through the air. Startled, I turned to Lycannar, who looked equally confused.
Curiosity and concern pulled us out of the bedchamber. We descended the stairs together, and by the time we reached the dining hall, the scene before us froze me in shock.
Lycannar’s aunt, Eiryn, was shoving her husband, Uncle Dareth, while plates crashed around them.
“I’m done with you, Dareth! You cheating bastard!” she screamed.
Another plate flew, and Lycannar immediately pulled me behind him protectively.
My hands went to my flat stomach by instinct, to shield the unborn life inside me. Realizing it, I quickly dropped my palms and exhaled shakily.

The maids, including Blue, who had been serving dinner, had all stepped back, wide–eyed.
Uncle Dareth stood red–faced with anger, while Aunt Eiryn trembled with fury. Their three children, Lycannar’s cousins, watched in tense silence, waiting for their parents to finish before they spoke.
“I’m done with this marriage! I demand a divorce!” Aunt Eiryn cried hotly.
“And you’ll believe that lunatic Pavan over me?” Uncle Dareth shouted back. “You’ll let gossip destroy decades of our union? Really, Eiryn?”
Their argument burned through the hall, leaving everyone on edge. I looked from one face to another, trying to piece together what could have caused this, when Cealan, Uncle Dareth’s eldest son, who was rarely home stepped forward holding a scroll.
“A divorce settlement,” he announced, his tone steady. “We’ve all signed. It only needs the King’s seal to make it official. Go on.”
“What?!” Uncle Dareth roared. “You will do no such thing! How dare you betray your father?”
“You betrayed us first when you started sleeping around,” Cealan shot back coldly. “You’ve said enough. Leave with dignity while it’s still available.”
The words hit like a blow. Uncle Dareth staggered back, looking toward his second son, Baron.
“Baron? Won’t you say something? After all I’ve done to make you Beta of this kingdom?”
“I only took that position because you pressured me!” Baron snapped. “You hated Apex for nothing and wanted to seize the kingdom through me! We all want you to leave our mother.”
Uncle Dareth went pale. He turned to Beauty, his only daughter, but she only stepped behind her brothers for protection.
Breathing hard, Dareth finally turned to Lycannar, squaring his shoulders.
“You won’t stamp that divorce settlement, Apex. You know how much I’ve bled for this family. You won’t take that from me.”
Lycannar stayed silent for a long time. Then he sighed and took the scroll from Cealan’s hand.
“You cheated on my aunt,” he said evenly. “What else do you expect me to do?”
“Oh, spare me your hypocrisy,” Dareth spat bitterly. Then his eyes shifted to me, a cruel smirk
curving his lips. “And you, do you really think he’ll stay loyal only to you?”
s
“Stay away from my woman, Uncle Dareth,” Lycanmar warned, pulling me behind him again. His uncle faltered, running a hand through his hair in frustration.
“This is unfair! You won’t approve that divorce!”
“Give me one reason why I shouldn’t,” Lycannar challenged.
Uncle Dareth stepped closer, eyes burning.
“Your parents! Didn’t your stepmother cheat on your father? Didn’t your father cheat on your stepmother? You’re a product of infidelity, so cut me some slack!”
“There’s no ‘slack‘ to cut for you, Dareth,” a voice interrupted sharply.
The entire hall fell silent.
I froze, then slowly pulled out from behind Lycannar to see her.
“Infidelity,” she continued, her voice calm but commanding, “is different from an open marriage. What my husband and I had was mutual. We knew of each other’s affairs and accepted them. We accepted each other’s children, even without love. But what you and your wife had was deceit. You cheated, and you will grant her the divorce she asks for. Your children have spoken, and so have I now.”
I went cold. Not because of her words but because of her presence.
Without introduction, I knew who she was. Without a crown, she still carried the unmistakable air of a queen.
Chantel, who had escorted her, quietly stepped aside into the shadows, his usual
post.
And there she was, Lycannar’s stepmother. The Princess’s mother. Regal, terrifying, and beautiful in a way that silenced the entire room.

She hadn’t come when my father died. Not when I took the throne, nor when everything fell apart. But the moment my letter reached her, she dropped whatever life she had built and came home.
For that, I am grateful.
I watch her in silence for a heart–stopping second before the sound of laughter filters in, my sisters, walking in with Luna Tahlia. They enter the dining hall mid–conversation, only to freeze when they sense another presence.
Their gazes snap to our guest, and my sisters go pale.
“Mother?” Serena breathes, disbelief softening her voice. She rushes forward, followed by
Mearez.
Silence consumes the room as the queen embraces the daughters she once abandoned to live with her lover. When she pulls away, she smiles proudly at them before turning her gaze on
me.
“Come here,” she says.
For what feels like an eternity, I don’t move. Then, at last, I step forward and take her into my arms. this woman who never showed love, yet never rejected me either. When I draw back, she studies me and smiles.
“You’ve grown well. Your mother would be so proud.”
I give a small nod, and she searches my eyes once more.
“Still weirdly silent?”
“He’s been talking a lot lately, Mother,” Serena says teasingly. “All thanks to his woman.” Official source is Find_Novel(.)net
At that, I remember Zephyrine. I extend a hand toward her, and she takes it.
“Mother, this is Zephyrine,” I say, introducing them. Then to my mate, I add softly, “She is my mother, the Queen. Pay your respects.”
Before Zephyrine can bow, my mother takes her hand and meets her gaze tenderly.

Yes, she must have heard what Zephyrine did for this kingdom. Saving it earns admiration from even the hardest hearts. Still, Zephyrine bows her head respectfully.
Then my mother’s gaze shifts toward Luna Tahlia, and I make the introduction.
“She’s the woman my brother fancies.”
Luna Tahlia immediately bows, but my mother only smiles.
“Her generosity reached my home, the supplies she sent. Thank you, my dear. I never thought Hades would choose so wisely.”
Luna Tahlia hesitates, her voice barely a whisper.
“I… I wasn’t actually in a real relationship with him.”
“But you wear his ring,” my mother replies, brushing a finger over it. Then she smiles again. “You are beautiful. I’ve heard of the war raging, but seeing you all still standing together in love and loyalty… I couldn’t be prouder.”
Her tone sharpens when she turns to my uncle Dareth.
“But I can’t say the same for you, Dareth. Of all people, you were supposed to be a role model for your children, for these children.”
“Queen, you won’t talk to me like that,” my uncle mutters, clearly displeased. “There’s no time limit for finding love. I’ve found mine now, and I’ll seize it.”
The hall falls silent. Aunt Eiryn stares at the man she’s borne three children for, disbelief in her eyes.
“So you never loved me?” she asks quietly.
He clenches his jaw and looks away.
“Fine,” she says, her voice breaking but strong. “Then I want a divorce. I’ll take my children and leave. Go be with your foolish love…”
“You won’t call her foolish, Eiryn!” he snaps, whirling toward her. Cealan, their eldest, immediately steps between them.

“She’s going to be my wife,” Dareth continues harshly. “You can leave if you want but leave the keys to my house.”
“Keys?” Serena blurts in disbelief.
I shoot her a sharp look, folding my arms, a silent warning to stay out of it. She quickly lowers her gaze.
My mother speaks then, voice cutting through the tension.
“Eiryn married you young, built your life with you, gave you children, stood by you, and this is how you repay her? You will be the one to leave, Dareth.”
“What?” my uncle sputters. “You forget you’re not even blood family. Your opinion isn’t
needed here.”
“Well, you forget I am still Queen of this kingdom,” she replies coolly. “Or would the next queen judge the matter?”

Heads turn immediately to Zephyrine. She’s been staring absently at the plates on the table, but the sudden silence makes her look up.
“Y… yeah?” she murmurs.
“She will be the next Queen,” my mother declares. “If my judgment doesn’t please you, perhaps my daughter–in–law’s will. What do you say, my queen?”
It’s a trap of sorts. Zephyrine is known for her fairness, and she knows well enough of Dareth’s cruelty. My uncle’s shoulders sag, his pride crumbling.
“Eiryn and I will handle this privately,” he mutters. “It’s a family matter.”
“It’s not,” Cealan interjects furiously. “My mother wants a divorce. Give it to her and go. We’ll manage without you.”
Realizing he’s cornered, my uncle exhales heavily.
“I’ll think on it,” he says at last. “Give me a few days. Queen, will you tell Eiryn to allow that?”
My mother glances at my aunt Eiryn, who hesitates before nodding.
“A few days,” she agrees.
With that, Dareth storms out of the dining hall, the sound of his horse galloping echoing faintly through the open doors. Even at the edge of war, he shows no fear, no sense of duty.

I sigh and turn to Zephyrine. She’s distant, lost in her thoughts. The room’s chatter fades around her. Something’s wrong.
“Lycan,” my mother calls softly.
I turn to find her watching me. “Show me to my chambers.”
I nod. Turning back to Zephyrine, I kiss her gently.
“I’ll be back soon.”
She nods and rises on her toes to kiss me once more before I leave, walking beside my mother through the long, echoing halls.
