Ch. 86..90: The Rogue is a Female Alpha chapter 86-90
I go cold.
“You know my mother?”
“The Demon Queen. One with beauty that causes the Lycan King to go crazed with Lust. The reason thousands of warriors died in battle. Of course I know such wicked woman.”
I take a step forward. She fights to hold her ground but fails, retreating, heart thudding in her chest.
“Zephyrine and you can never be together, Lycannar. You are everything she stand against. She will never accept you once she know who you are.”
“You know why the moon goddess curse me?” I ask, and she shudders.
“Because you are the product of sin.”
“No.” I shake my head. “Because she doesn’t want me to be happy. She said I don’t deserve it. My father break the laws of all mortals to mate with my mother, to be happy. So happiness for the lineage of Blood will never happen but guess what? I found love. Her. Zephyrine, and I will do anything, everything to have her.”
I take another step close and grab her arm before she can escape. My demonic eyes pin hers, and she
shudders.
“I give my words to Zephyrine that I won’t kill for her sake and I will honor it to some point. I am a man starved of love until she came into my life and fed me full with it. I have been lonely for decades but she walk into my tower and whispers the words of love to me. If you think You can stop me, you are wrong. Even the goddesss you worship can try. Zephyrine is mine and I will burn the whole empire if they stand in

I release her roughly. She collapses to the floor, legs unable to hold her. I turn, shifting gradually back to my normal form as I walk towards the exit, walk to my horse, mount, and ride back to my Kingdom.
Back Where 89
I couldn’t sleep. No. I just couldn’t rest. I tried to get dressed for bed but found myself standing at the window, staring at the spot where he had left me.
A soft sigh came from behind me, Dessyn’s voice.
“You should go to him, Zephyr. Trust me, you won’t sleep a wink unless you see him and talk to him.”
I lower my gaze and slowly turn to see her sitting on the bed. Blue stood at the door, both worried about
me.
Today had resulted in something I hadn’t seen coming from a long mile away, and tonight had taken more than I could ever muster. I am only grateful that Moon isn’t home to witness such moments and hear the truth about Nyroth, my own mate condemning me to death.
I wonder what would have happened to me.
“If it wasn’t for Lycannar who came that day, and left in rage, triggered the pain and made it intensify…” I shake my head slowly. “I wouldn’t have known I am dying.”
“Zephyr…”
“If it wasn’t for Princess Mearez… I wouldn’t have even known what cure to use, Dessyn.”
She lowers her gaze in sadness, and I look away to steady my emotions.
“If it wasn’t for all of you who stood by me, if it wasn’t for Lycannar and Moon and Chantel who made that journey and brought back the flower cure… I wouldn’t be here tonight. Hale and healthy.”
I sniff, leaning on the wall, exhausted.
“He knows I am poisoned by Kaela and yet he kept it to himself. He knows she tried to end my life, and yet he abandoned me to rot. I swear to the gods, if Lycannar had been the one who hurt Nyroth, I wouldn’t see him ever again. I told him many times. Despite his rudeness and all, I protected him from the Lycan King. We all know Lycannar will not think twice before ending his life, but I won’t have any of it because Nyroth is my mate!”
I sigh shakily, my heart shattering.
“But he never did feel anything for me. Not even from the onset. Nothing at all. He believes Kaela saved him even after seeing evidence. He believes I am lower to him because I choose to live as a rogue. He chose to leave me for dead because he believes I am useless. I will reject him and make him regret.”
I turn toward the window and peer out when softly, Dessyn walks up and settles her palm on my shoulder.
“You should go to Lycannar tonight. Blue will be safe with me. For you and for him, Zephyr. Go on.”
I lower my gaze at her advice. She is still one of the few people who can see through me, see what I feel.
I want Lycannar so much. So very much that my heart aches. I can’t bear the fact that he is mad at me, and I
hate to think he might have the wrong thoughts.

I slowly look down at the white, powerful horse he had gifted me, and I sigh. Maybe I should take a ride tonight.
It’s a powerful horse, more like the one I rode into battle five years ago to defeat the demons and send them back to their realm.
I stop in the royal stable and dismount, rubbing her mane for a few seconds as the stableman comes to
take her reins.
“My lady,” he greeted, and I bowed in response.
Quietly, I walk into the hall, appearing in the dining hall. It’s empty; silence hangs heavily.
Gently, I head up the stairs and into Lycannar’s chamber, expecting to see him on the bed, but no. He is nowhere to be seen.
I walk out from there and into his bath chamber, but he isn’t there either.
Where is he? He definitely can’t be in any meeting tonight, right?
No answer comes. I turn gently toward the far end of the hall, recalling Lycannar’s words that morning that Chantel’s bed chamber is at the far end.
I make my way there and knock on the door gently. No response. I knock again, still nothing. I was about to knock a third time when the door opens, compelling my knuckles to hover in the air.
Chantel appears in the doorway, his hair covering most of his view as usual, but his eyes are unwavering. I get a chill.
This will be the first time I stand this close to him.
“Chantel, do you know where Lycannar is?” I ask, but he does not respond. He only stares at me like a statue. I try again. “He is not in his chamber. I can’t find him anywhere.”
Still silence. He continues to stare, and I swallow hard. If not for my fearlessness, I wouldn’t dare look at him again. He looks so ominous, so strange.
I am about to ask again when I feel the force ahead, the unmistakable presence, the warmth..
“He won’t speak to you.” Lycannar’s voice comes, and I stare harder at Chantel. He stares back, then walks into his chamber, closing the door. I stand still, aware that I haven’t heard Lycannar come up the stairs.
I turn at last. He is no longer there. I walk straight to his bedchamber and pause in the doorway.
He isn’t there, so I walk down the corridor and find him staring out with his hands folded across his chest.
On his shoulder perches the same raven I first saw when I came to the Lycan Kingdom. Powerful, understated dominance.
Memories of how he had walked away from me surface, and I stare at him from behind, wondering where
he has come from.

“Where are you coming from, Lycannar?” I finally ask, my words intended to be soft but ended up coming out cold, unmistakably laced with jealousy.
“Why do you care?” he mutters, and I set my jaw, anger flooding in me.
I dash forward to stand before him.
“Where in the hell are you coming from, Lycannar Blood?”
His eyes are on his kingdom before they shift to mine. I see his jaw set, the anger and jealousy clear.
“Why?” he asks instead. “You scared I might also have gone to a woman?“,
“You won’t dare.”
“Try me.” He challenges, walking into his chamber. I follow, pushing him from behind, but it makes no impact. He is too strong, too formidable.
“I hate you,” I mutter coldly, and he turns to glare.
“Thank goodness you are speaking the truth now. Why are you here if you do hate me?”
“Lycan.”
“I respect you, Zephyrine, and I respect your choices. I won’t hurt your mate because you love him so much, but do not test my patience. Just because I am obsessed with you doesn’t mean I am a second choice you come to when you are bored of your mate…”
I slap him instantly. Hard. His head tilts aside from the impact. I am so mad at him, and yet desperate.
“It’s you I love and you know it!”
Slowly, he looks at me. I glare, but that enmity lasts only a second before everything shatters.
We move at the same time, meeting in the middle, kissing as though it will be the last time.
Back Where 90We lay on the bed utterly spent, our clothes scattered on the floor, while we remained naked in one another’s arms, still feeling the power of what we had just shared.
I loved it. Everything about being in his arms like this, being pampered by him and cherished. I closed my eyes to savor the quietness when his voice came softly.
“He touch you?”
I waited a few seconds, knowing fully well who he was asking about.
“No.”
“You sat with him?”
“No.”
“You still want him?”
To this I couldn’t respond. Want him? No. Never. I am so certain. I pull away from Lycannar to sit up. He watches me run my fingers through my hair and then reach for my gown.
“I have to go,” I said, aiming to dress, but he reaches for my wrist and pulls me back down to him. My heart swells at his tender touch and I sigh shakily.
“My love…”
“Stay tonight,” he requests softly, his palm caressing my arm once again, soothing me. “Please.”
Gently, I look up to stare at him and lean down to kiss his lips. We had argued, and yet it led to something splendid.
“I’m famished, Lycannar,” I say. “I haven’t eaten anything today.”
To this, he smiles. As though he can’t help it. He rolls me over to kiss my lips, my head resting on the pillow.
“Let me make a dinner for you. Supper, in fact. Since it’s so late.”
My eyes go wide in awe and admiration.
“You can cook?”
He raises an eyebrow.
“I have been here alone for years. I am only just allowing maids to ascend the stairs. Of course I can cook.” He pulls away to reach for his royal robe but pauses to turn to me. “But… I don’t know. It might not be up to your taste.”
“Since the cook is up to my taste, I am sure his cooking will be.” I say flirtatiously, my eyes shifting to his length and he chuckles quietly at what I mean.

The pleasant sound floods me with immense joy, and for a heart–stopping second, I watch him dress with at smile on his face. Quietly, he walks out, leaving me to deal with the cold and awe of how beautiful he is when he smiles. How utterly gorgeous a man can be.
I have heard horrible rumors about him, but getting to know him deeply, I see he is nothing like the monster the empire portrays him to be.
Slowly, I get up from where I sit and walk toward his numerous identical clothes, about to pick one when I hear a creak ahead, from the corner of the wall.
I turn toward it, curiosity piqued. Gently, I make my way toward it, and again the creak sounds. It’s behind. the books. I reach to search, but then it flies out, startling me sharply.
I take a step back to see it. A raven. Perching on the table, eyes sharp and fixed on me. I sigh shakily, relief flooding me. It’s not something unusual. I’ve seen Lycannar’s raven a few times before.
“You want one too?” a croak comes from behind, and I go cold.”
I whirl around sharply.
What?!
“I have a brother. You want him?” the raven asks again, and my knees go weak. I slowly approach it, palm extended in curiosity, and it settles gently on it.
Carefully, I hold it to my face to examine it in wonder
“You can talk?”
“Yes.”
“My gods. How come? How can you? Did Lycannar know?”
The raven flutters her feathers.
“One question at a time. My Majesty knows I can speak.”
“Wow. But…” I was saying when Lycannar’s sudden appearance stops me.
He appears with two plates of roasted meats but pauses when he sees me with his raven, then walks into the chamber and places the plates on the table.
The raven flies off my palm to perch on his shoulder, settling as though it has always belonged there.
“Her name is Ravana. My father gave her to me,” he explains as he reaches for me and walks me toward a chair. “You okay?”
I can’t shake it off. I watch him quietly and nod at last.
“I never knew she could speak. How come?”
“It’s a forbidden spell,” he replies quietly as he nods at the food. “Go on.”
I blink at his response and then slowly look down at the roasted meat. A small smile curls at the corner of

my lips as I pick up my fork and knife. The aroma crawls into my nostrils, and when I taste it, I giggle quietly.
“Ravana, your raven said she has a brother. Is that true? She asked if I want him.”
To this, Lycannar shakes his head.
“It’s only her. She’s just being silly.”
“Come to think of it, I haven’t seen her since the last time you appeared at the hall.”
Lycannar nods.
“She has been with Chantel.”
I raise an eyebrow, then frown in confusion,
“Lycannar… Chantel… why won’t he speak to me?”
“He’s like that with everyone.”
“But why?”
For a few seconds, he stares at me as though debating whether to answer.
“It’s the spell cast upon him.”
“How do you mean?”
He waits again before explaining.
“I grew up alone in this tower. Lonely and… quiet. My father came to visit one day and decided to give me companions. This raven, who can speak, and Chantel, who will be loyal, there for only me, and me alone.” For original chapters go to
Silence falls after his words, and I grow more confused. It’s not adding up.
“Lycannar,” I call quietly. “Your father is the one who said bitter words to you. Is he also the one who gifted you companions so you wouldn’t be lonely?”
“No.” He whispers, and I wait, curious. “I have a stepfather. Two, actually. One is the father of my brother Hades, and the other is the father of my elder sisters Mearez and Serena. I call all of them father, but it was Hades‘ father who gave me Chantel and Ravana.”
I pause from chewing, the fork slipping from my fingers as I stare at him in awe.
“Wait… does… does that mean Princess Mearez and Princess Serena are not really true blood? You are the real and only offspring from the late Lycan King?”
He nods gently.
“My sisters are true princesses too, in a way. They are born from the true Queen of this kingdom, only from a different father. My own father also gave me birth from a different mother. My own mother already had my brother Hades with her lawfully wedded husband before she begot me with my father.”
“My gods. Who would have guessed you all are step–siblings?”

“No one knows except family members, and we plan on keeping it that way,” he says, and I swallow hard at what he means. Did he consider me a family member too?

“In any case, we all don’t care about it. My brother Hades loves us all. He’s the eldest. Mearez came next, then Serena, and lastly me. We love one another… too much.”
“I know that already,” I whisper quietly. “I have seen the bond. I know how much you all love one another. About your older brother though, I don’t really know him that much.”
“You will know him soon,” he says lazily, then looks down at the plate. Slowly, I follow his gaze, only to be stunned. I have eaten my portion and his as well.
Slowly, he looks right into my eyes, and I swallow.
“Goodness. I… well, Your Majesty, I have to admit… your supper is very great,” I admit jokingly, and he leans back in his chair, chuckling into the night.
