Ch. 71..75: The Werewolf's Vampire Mate Chapter 71-75
Chapter 71: Lanesville Meadows.
Alanis
This is my last chance.
This is the only shot I got to get him out.
I will not fail.
Thanks to Eligio and that sign, I saw where he is. In Cassius’s head. He thinks he is the only one that is smart, he thinks he is the only one that is always one step ahead.
This time I won’t let him win.
Lanesville Meadows.
I know where is it.
It is a monumental place.
Everyone knows the mansion.
Suddenly everything is clear to me.
In the town of Mayville. The family that was killed in the 1700s. This tale is as old as time. Brutally murdered and then burnt to ashes. The story is known to basically everyone that reads the news. The Brightwood family, basically owned Mayville and all the businesses. They were the richest in the town. Everyone feared them, there were suspicions of them being witches or devil worshippers. Now it is clear. They were just vampires.
Cassius was part of their family.
Okay, maybe not part but he was involved with their son Gyles Brightwood. Everything suddenly makes sense. All the anger and hatred. The stories I’ve heard about Cassius all add up. He hates the whole werewolf breed. He wants them extinct.
This is his way of cleansing the world of monsters.
He is judging the whole kind all because of the mistakes of one fucking pack. He is the monster because killing someone like Beau is a monstrous thing to do. Beau couldn’t hurt anyone intentionally. He is the sweetest person I know, the kindest person I have ever met. He believes in people more than he believes in himself and now one man wants to wipe the world of ever getting to fully know him.
I will not let him succeed.
I will save him.
The car is full, El driving, me sitting in the passenger seat, Darrien and Isabelle at the back. The drive is quiet. There is a plan, it isn’t rushed like the last time. I won’t go in there blindly. There is no option for failure. The only thing I intend to do is get him out. I will handle Cassius once I am sure he is safe. Maddie caught me off guard the last time. She was my weakness at that point and I was betrayed by her. This time, I plan to keep my eyes and ears completely alert.
Any sounds, any movements, I will be ready for it.
So, I and Darrien will scout the house, stealthily while Eligio and Bell’s will be outside on guard duty. I know it is going to be surrounded. I plan to take down anyone that is in my way. This time I don’t care. I will hurt each and every one of Cassius’s Minions.
’’So, we going in there for the kill?’’ Darrien asks. This is his speciality. Sneak attack for the kill. Darrien would have been the first person I took with me for the Maddie heist if I thought he would want to help. Now that I know he is on my side. Now that I know he is one of my brothers for real, I trust him enough to tag along.
Darrien is fast and strong. He is the most indestructible one of us. He has no fear in him. Never really thought he was scared of anything.
’’Anyone that gets in our way, dies. But we have to stay invisible until we get him out. I don’t want to take any chances until he is in my grasp.’’
This is my warning to them.
Once Cassius finds out we are there, he will get to Beau first. He will use Beau to confuse us and I don’t need any confusion right now. I have to be in the right frame of mind. The sole purpose of this is to get him out. To make sure he is safe.
’’Do we kill him after?’’ there is a gleam in his eyes.
I feel the same as he does but I am not killing him until I am sure that Beau is safe. I can still feel him breathing, I know he is still alive. He said he was going on this journey with me but I lost him a while back. He is not strong enough to stay in my head for a long time. I fully understand, the fact that I could talk to him in the first time is enough for me.
’’That dude has got to go,’’ Bells exclaims.
I nod in agreement; I will do everything I can to get rid of Cassius. He is a threat to my family. I can’t have him looming over us, always around. The only solution is his death.
We stop at a gas station to fill up our tank. Bell’s goes to the restroom and Darrien goes in to get snacks. He said he has something to talk to me about before we left, this can be my chance.
I go into mart and he is at the counter, he looks up when he sees me and a smile crawls up his face. I walk closer to him and he hits my shoulder gently ’’We will get him out," he gives me assurance. I already know that because this is the end game for me. There is no either-or again.
’’You said you had something to talk to me about when you came back with Rex,"
He sighs ’’I don’t think it is important now," the man behind the counter watches us as he waits for Darrien to pay. Darrien grabs a couple of bucks from his wallet and tosses it on the counter.
"We can talk about it now while El fills up the gas."
He nods and grabs my arm softly, leading me out of the mart with the bags on in his other grip. He stops in front of the building in a corner "What’s the situation with Jabi?"
At first, the name doesn’t ring a bell but after a few seconds, I recollect who is talking about. It’s the kid in Beau’s pack.
"What do you mean?"
He shrugs "Is he safe in his pack. I know he is an omega but what does that mean for him?"
Why does he care?
With a smile "I don’t know, is there something you are not telling me?"
"Maybe." he sighs and let’s go of my arm. I didn’t even know he was still holding unto me. He drops the bag of snacks and drinks on the floor and runs his hands through his hair "I asked him to stay with me. He is not happy where he is?"
His words shock me, completely.
I knew there was something up with him when he helped me with Moe. I could see it in his eyes. The look he gave the kid but he is accepting this faster than I thought he would.
"How is that possible?" I question because I want to know what is going on in his head.
"I don’t know, I’d keep him in the apartment," he explains. I fully understand what he is talking about.
Darrien has a place he escapes to sometimes. That is one of the reasons why we all feel a little detached from him. Usually, he stays there more than the family home. Now he wants to keep the kid there?
"He’s not some piece of property, that you keep."
He nods "I know, shit I don’t know what I am thinking but did you see him today. He looked like he hadn’t eaten in months."
"Why do you care?"
He shrugs again "I don’t know, there is this possessiveness I feel when he is around. I want to take care of him. I can’t do that when he is in the community."
It is all clear to me.
I know what this is.
This is the same way I feel about Beau.
"Do you know what this means?"
I want him to think about it. It is so obvious, but he needs to think about deeper than he is. This is not just some random person that he wants to take care of. He doesn’t know it yet but they are linked.
"I don’t know. I just need your support right about now. You are the only one that would get it. With the relationship, you have with the wolves."
This doesn’t have anything to do with me, even if I wasn’t involved with Beau. This would’ve happened to him. This is fate, and no one can tamper with fate. I don’t tell him that though.
"What did he say?" I urge him remembering his first comment.
"Jabi?"
I nod.
"He is terrified. He doesn’t fully trust me even though I have done nothing but show him that he can."
"Give him time. He is just a kid. He doesn’t understand what is going," I explain.
He can’t push him to do anything he is not ready for. This is the time for him to get closer to him, he can’t scare him away when he hasn’t even explored his feelings properly.
"What is going on?" he asks me, watching intently.
"You have to figure that part out on your own."
This is something he will have to accept on his own. He sees it in my eyes, deep down he already has all the answers.
He doesn’t need me.
Beau is the only one that needs me right now.
He is my priority.
Chapter 72: Closer.
Alanis.
"We have to hike the rest of the way," Eligio mutters as he parks the car, hidden in a bush. The car ride took forty-five minutes. My patience is wearing thin. All my thoughts on him. I haven’t heard from him before I continue this journey, I wish he would connect with me.
It can’t happen if he is not strong enough.
I don’t know the level of weakness he is at right now but he hasn’t reached out since I left my house.
"He’s okay," I mumble to myself, not letting anyone see the little amount of fear in me. I have to be strong and this is the only assurance I can give myself.
That is the only thing that keeps me going. Feeling him in the confinement of my chest. Knowing he is still breathing. I get down from the car and all eyes are on me. They are expecting me to be the leader in this. I have never been a leader but for his return, I will gladly take the bull by the horns. I look up and the sky is dark, the day is already over. I didn’t want to waste any time, waste for daybreak, so we left in the night. There was no hesitation on my part, he needs me and I will run through the night to get to him.
Eligio’s coughs out to get my attention "It’s an hour walk away from the house. We have to make it less than 10 minutes."
I know what he is talking about, we have to run with superspeed. Everyone is fast. Darrien is the fastest. I don’t know how fast Bell’s can go but that just means she will have to change. We can’t waste any more time. We have to do this now.
"Okay, everyone good to go?"
They all nod, Bell’s is the first to walk into the woods. She probably needs her privacy to change. Totally unacceptable. We all follow her and I don’t wait for them. There is no time. Running is easy for us, in the blink of an eye, we will get to the destination we need to. Today, it feels longer. I feel the wind, everything around me is blurry at the pace I am going but it feels like forever. I feel my brothers beside me on both sides. I see the smirk on Darrien’s face through the race.
This is exciting for him.
The fast life.
It takes about five minutes to get there. I counted in my head; it was the only thing that helped calm my nerves. I see the house immediately I stop. Everyone is here but Bells. It takes her another two minutes to get to us and she walks over to us in her true form. She doesn’t change back but crawls on all four next to me.
I read her mind immediately, almost like she is talking to me.
Let’s do this.
It is straight to the point and the ginger I need.
"We’ll stay out here, stand guard," Eligio informs me.
I look at the house, Darrien is watching me "We can’t walk in through the front door. We have to find a way out back.’’ Darrien informs me, I know he is right. The moment Cassius sees us, we will be trapped. So we just have to hide from him until we can get to Beau. We are covered by a tree but once we take slow strides, I feel exposed.
He might not be here, the fact that we are here is unknown to me but I also know it won’t ve so easy to get him out. I know the way that leads to him, from the front entrance. I have it memorized but if we use another route, I might not be as quick to get to him but it’ll be easier to get him out if we are not caught, so I will do what Darrien suggests right now. Even if this house is like a fucking maze, I will solve the pathway to get to him, I will feel him and he will be with me.
"Let’s take the back, we have to be as quiet as possible. Kill anyone on sight." I direct him.
I will not hesitate to hurt them.
The moment Cassius took Beau, he became my mortal enemy. Anyone working for Cassius is my enemy. We take the opposite direction, the one leading to the back of the house. From the vision I saw with El, this house looks exactly the same. The bricks are still intact, the paint the building is chipped and faded but and there are vines frowning everywhere. The house is covered with different plants. Somehow it makes it even more beautiful, almost like it has more character as the years passed. The story of this house is sad. It is something that I don’t wish on my worst enemy. It can make anyone mad. It made Cassius mad with vengeance.
There is a little door at the back of the house, the only door visible to me but there is also someone there. I stop in my tracks when I see the person and Darrien looks at me. He knows what to do, he is the best at the sneak attack. He uses his eyes to tell me that he can handle the man. The man guarding the door is dressed in a black shirt and black pants. He has black boots on. He is muscular. I can smell him, he is a vampire. This is the first vampire I have ever met that is so buff. He looks pissed, almost like he is pissed at the world.
Darrien hits my shoulder assuring and I watch him. It is a beautiful sight to see, him in action. He is fast, almost at the speed of light, before I can even blink, he is behind the guy. Macho man doesn’t even notice him. The blow is quick, he doesn’t hesitate as he snaps his neck in one quick movement. I hear the crack of the bones as the man falls to the ground.
"I got this," he gloats quietly standing over the body.
My legs move to him and he smiles in accomplishment. It’ll take him about thirty minutes to heal. So, we have only thirty minutes. Darrien bends down on his knees and I know what he is about to do.
He folds his hand into a fist "No," I stop him.
He looks up with a frown "We can’t leave him alive.’’
I shake my head ’’Not him, Cassius’s heart is the only one I want."
He rolls his eyes ’’Leaving this man here will be a big mistake. We have to take them all down," he is determined.
I don’t just want to keep killing all the bad guys. They wouldn’t be the way there are if not for Cassius.
"We have to do this," Darrien pushes. I don’t want this to come back and bite me in the ass so I agree with a sigh. He smiles and the look in his eyes tell me that he is going to enjoy this. I watch him as he makes the fist again, this time with more force. The fact that he is unconscious makes this easier. Ripping out a heart from the chest is the only way to kill a vampire, and also, beheading them. The sounds as he presses into his chest is loud. Blood drips out all over his hand, as he slowly pulls it out. A heart, that stopped beating the moment he got turned.
Of no use now.
Darrien tosses it away and cleans the blood on his pants. It is black, so not as visible as it would’ve been on another colour.
"Now he can’t blow our cover," he winks and walks over to the door. Darrien is ruthless, that has always been his strength. There is no remorse in his eyes as he opens the door slowly. He is being cautious. For a moment, I thought I was the one in control but Darrien is impressive. There is no fear in him, this is just another old adventure to him.
The hallway is dark, too dark but empty. Darrien turns around and faces me "You should take the lead on this one since you’ve seen the place." he whispers quietly.
I nod and walk-in, there is a candlelit at the end of the hall, other than that there are no lights. In this day and age. In the year 20200, he is still using candles. Cassius is stuck in the past; he doesn’t want to move forward.
I take slow steps until we get to another door, slowly I open the door and we are in a kitchen. I didn’t see the kitchen in the vision. So I can’t tell how to get to him, the kitchen is empty. Empty, deserted and dark except for another candle.
"Hasn’t this motherfucker heard of electricity?" Darrien blurts out and I end up chuckling. I had the exact same thought so it is funny to me.
"Come on," I walk to the door and open it slowly. Caught off guard I see someone. It’s another vampire, he glares at me angrily. I run over to him swiftly and grab him by his neck. At first, it is a struggle but I do this as quick as I can. There is no time to break his neck, so I rip his heart out instantly. He screams out from the intense pain, ruining the not getting caught part. Another one of Cassius’s minion comes out through a door and Darrien smiles.
"I got this brother," he winks and runs over to him.
I focus on the one in my grasp, this is the second time I have done this and I must say, I am not a fan. I feel his heart on my fingertips as he mutters his last words in pain "Cassius will never let you survive this," his eyes remain open as I pull out his heart.
Darrien’s prey is already on the floor, his heart out of his body. There is a smile on his face "Good job," he walks over to me and pats my shoulder.
There is blood on his hands, so it smears on my shirt.
"Come on."
We walk side by side and I feel closer to Beau.
I am coming baby.
Chapter 73: In your arms again.
Beau.
I am on the cold hard ground.
My body is a mess.
I am freezing.
I don’t have any strength left in me.
I wanted to stay with him but I didn’t have the energy. I can feel my body giving up. The longer I stay here, the weaker I become. I want to be strong, he said he was coming, that he would save me. This is the second time Lanis has come to my rescue. This will be the second time he will see me at my weakest.
I want to be his protector, the one that he can depend on for the rest of his life but he has taken that from me. he is my protector. He is my hero.
The room is spinning above me. I feel him closer, maybe it is just in my head. He said he was coming for me and now my mind is playing tricks with me. Torturing me, deceiving me into thinking he is here.
My heart thuds against my chest as I wait for the miracle that is him. The house is quiet. All my senses have diminished. I have lost everything in just a couple of weeks. I don’t know how I will bounce back from this; I don’t know if I have the abilities to be who everyone thinks I am.
I try to sit up, I don’t want him to find me unconscious but the more I try, the harder it is for me.
My eyes close the more I try to keep them open.
I have nothing left.
*****************************
Alanis.
I recognize the hallway we are in.
This is the one from the vision. This is the one Cassius walked out of. I look at Darrien and he is watching me, waiting for my lead. We are closer to Beau. I already feel him deep within me.
"Where to?" he asks.
I point to the door that leads to the basement-like dungeon. That Is the place that Cassius locked him in. I stop in front of the door and try to open it but it is locked. Darrien huffs so loud from all the frustration and before I can say anything, he pushes me out of the way and kicks the wooden door down with so much force that we watch it crumble down the stairs. We shouldn’t be making so much noise but I also understand where he is coming from. He is frustrated and so am I. I can’t take all this anymore.
I need to see him.
I need him in my arms.
It has been too fucking long.
"Come on," he goes down the stairs and I follow him down the steep stairs. Everything is familiar, I know my way down here even though I have never been to this house before. I thank the deities for helping me with this, for connecting him to me. If I didn’t see him, I would have never found him.
The chair that is in front of the room they keep him is empty. The hall is dark and dingy. It smells like rotten eggs; they kept my baby in a place that smells like shit.
I swear I will fucking kill Cassius.
The closer we get to the door, the faster my heartbeats. Darrien is in front of me. he stops in front of the door and peers through the cage-like peephole. I wait, my heart throbbing from the thought that he might not be inside. Darrien turns to me slowly and there is a smile on his face. All my prayers have been answered at that moment. I am not close enough to be sure but from the look on my brother’s face, I am sure.
I run over to the door and push him out of the way. I am too eager to be polite, there is no time for that. There is a big chain around the handle of the door with a padlock. There is no key. I don’t care about a key. There is anger in me as I see him on the ground. He is still in those tattered shorts. I can’t tell if he is breathing, I can only feel him. that is the only way I know my baby is not dead. They have tortured him to this point and I want to kill every one of them. I want to be the kind of monster they are.
I grab the chains and crush it until they become dust. Darrien stays behind as I push the door with so much force. I can feel the tears and cuts on my skin as I try to get to him, I will bleed a million times. I will hurt for the rest of my life for him. the door opens with a loud creak and I run into the room, straight to him.
His eyes are closed but there are soft breaths coming from him. "Baby," I cry because the sight in front of me is terrifying. He is cold, so fucking cold. I am the dead one. No one has ever been colder than me but he is cold.
My baby is so cold.
There are bruises all over his body.
He is not healing which just shows me how weak he is. Seeing him in person, seeing him at his weakest stage, is different from the mind link. He tried to make me think he was strong, it wasn’t as bad as it looked. He didn’t want me to be worried, granted, I have been worried the whole time but now, I am shattered.
I don’t know how to process all this.
I grab his neck and pull him into my arms. He doesn’t respond, he doesn’t open his eyes. Hie chest rises and falls faintly. He is still alive, but barely. They left him here to fucking die.
Fuck.
"We need to get out of here." Darrien stomps his foot on the ground impatiently. His eyes roam around, he is watching in case there are any surprises. I am glad I brought him with me.
I lift beau up at one go and he feels light in my arms. I have only carried him twice. This time is worse. He is not the man I know. he is dying and I can feel it. I feel it in my heart. How long till he gives up. I need to do something.
"Wait," I tell Darrien who has already turned to the exit.
He furrows his brows in confusion.
I explain.
"He’s not going to last for any longer, he needs my blood." I cry.
Darrien frowns "We need to leave. He is still alive. Let’s get out of here and I can heal him."
I shake my head "He doesn’t have much longer. I can feel him slipping away." I cry desperately for him to listen to me. Darrien’s healing will take too long, he has minutes.
Fucking minutes and I can lose the love of my life.
Vampires blood has healing powers. This is the only thing I can think of. The only worry with feeding humans our blood is the fear that they could end up, turned. Beau is not human; he will be fine as long as he is alive.
Darrien sighs because there is no convincing me.
I place beau on the cold ground again. This time I will get him out of here, alive and healthy.
he doesn’t move.
He doesn’t fucking budge.
It is an instant. I feel my fangs shoot out as they pierce against my skin. This is to get the juices flowing. Blood drips down my lips unto the ground, leaving a stain. I ignore everything as I position his mouth to my wrist. The blood drips on his lips before it finds its way to his mouth. He doesn’t move as I watch the vein, I bit bleed out. Slowly at first then a lot. I watch and wait, I pray and hope. I know how it should be, I have fed my blood to only one other person. i wont think about her because this is not the time, he is supposed to respond to it.
He is supposed to drink it on his own. That is how it happens. Maybe it is different with wolves.
"Nothing is happening," darrien reads my mind.
I look up at him "It’s supposed to work." I am getting scared but I am really trying hard not to show it. I am trying my fucking best to be strong. How can I be strong when all my attempts are futile.
"Maybe force a lot more into his mouth?"
It is a suggestion but it is of no help. I am bleeding out right now. Giving him all the blood I took before coming here. There is so much blood I can give and he is drinking it all.
"Hold on, something is happening."
I look at Beau and it is slight. Not so obvious but there is a gulp as the blood goes down his throat. A smile crawls up to my face because of something so little.
I feed him more, already getting excited.
That slight movement becomes more, I watch him as he devours and before I know it, with the flash of a light he stops drinking and his blue eyes open.
Chapter 74: Redeem myself
Beau.
My eyes open and confusion sprawls on my face.
He is so close to me but I can’t reach out.
My hands feel numb, there is a pounding in my head but my eyes focus on him. I seem to be drinking something but it feels out of my control. Alanis smiles widely, with so much happiness etched to his face. I don’t know what happening but seeing him is making me happy and relaxed.
"You’re okay," he exclaims still smiling.
I try to sit up but my legs won’t move, the taste in my mouth is metallic and very tangy but my body is responding to it too well. My body wants more "We have to go bro."
I hear another voice in the background but it doesn’t sound familiar. I focus on him and nothing else as he feeds me whatever it is. After I don’t know how long, he pulls back from me. I look away from him and at his hand as the blood drips down.
Blood?
I was drinking his blood.
This time when I try to sit up, it is easier for me. Lanis lifts me off the ground gently and I try to stand on my own. "You’re okay." It is not a question.
"You came," I manage to breathe out.
He nods his head immediately and grabs my hands in his. The electricity surges through, my body is responding to him. It has been too fucking long. "I told you I would," he winks and my heart melts in my chest.
Everything seems like a memory I want to forget. I know we are not out yet. I can see that I am still in the cell but he is here. The love of my life is here... with me.
"Let’s get out of here guys," Darrien rushes and I notice him for the first time. This comes as a shock to me.
Lanis brought Darrien instead of Eligio.
Things must be better between them.
"We have to go," Lanis gets me out of my thoughts and brushes the strands of my hair comfortingly.
My mind is in a fog.
I still feel very weak.
I am barely standing but I know I can walk out of here.
I have to.
We head for the door and Lanis leads the way out. It takes a lot to get me out of the house but we make it. Being outside for the first time in a long time feels like a miracle. A miracle I never thought I would get.
Lanis is still holding unto me.
He doesn’t want to let me go.
I see Bells immediately. She is in her true form trying to camouflage behind a tree. This is my best friend, she and Rex are the only family I have left... literally. She comes out when she sees me and the race to me is instant. On all four, I see her run to me until she in front of me sniffing my face with her wet nostrils. At this point, Lanis has no choice but to let go of me. I know this is not the time and place for this embrace. We are in front of Cassius’s prison. He could come at any time.
We cannot be here when he shows up.
Hi.
For the first time in a long time, I connect with her. I have a mind link with my best friend and it feels so good to hear her voice. Being alone in that room for God knows how long was exhausting. It took a toll on me, I never thought I would make it out of there.
In my human form, Bells is bigger than me as a wolf.
Get on.
She tells me.
I manage a faint smile because I don’t even have the energy to walk and she can tell. To body ratio, Bells is the size of a horse next to me. so, I don’t feel guilty, putting all my weight on her. Alanis uses this moment to address us. It looks like Cassius is not here, so getting away will be easy.
I plan on getting my strength back and finishing this off. I am tired of all this back and forth with him. he thinks he has the right to play God. I will not let him win; this is the last time I will show weakness. I realise something through all that has happened. I am not strong enough; I am not trained properly for battle.
Every time my father complained, every time he got upset with me for being too relaxed.
It is all clear to me now.
I know what I need to do.
I owe Lanis everything.
I have to protect him.
Cassius will not be happy when he finds out.
Cassius will come back for us, and when he does, I want to be ready.
***************
Bells bends her head and slowly, i get off her back. i watch her run back into the woods. I know what she wants to do. turning means you end up naked and she doesn’t want to do that in front of us. If it was me, I wouldn’t give a shit. I walk around naked all the time, but Bell’s has always been conservative for a werewolf.
Alanis is quick to hold me in his arms, gripping my arms softly. It felt like we were running for a long time. I hate the feeling of weakness, not being able to walk on my own but that is the plight I have been dealt with and I have to take it as it is.
I see Lanis’s car behind a tree. Eligio runs over to it as Lanis throws his key to him. I watch him as he gets the car to us. ’’Are you okay?’’ Lanis asks me warmly.
He is treating me like I am fragile.
I don’t blame him, after everything I feel like a fucking failure. I just need to prove to him that I am strong. That I am his protector. Right now, he has the right to call all the shots. I will surrender to him.
’’Yes, a little hungry.’’
I need food.
Meat.
It has been too long without it.
He smiles ’’Soon baby,’’ he places a soft kiss on my temple and I close my eyes, embracing everything that he is. He is home and I am finally home. Bell’s walks out from behind the trees and she is fully dressed in black shorts and a tank top. Her hair is in a ponytail. She runs with a smile on her face until she is in front of me.
Breathing heavily, she reaches for me and I welcome her. This is my family, one of the most important people to me and she risked her life to be here. She left her mate, she left everything to come and help me. there was no certainty that she would survive this but she came willingly.
’’I’ve missed you,’’ she breathes into my ear.
I feel a lightweight being lifted off my chest. Seeing her alive and well. Knowing Cassius has not gotten to her, there is still a chance to redeem myself.
Protect my family.
’’We’ve got to go.’’
I pull apart from her and Darrien is glaring at us. I still am not sure about this guy but the fact that he is here, the fact that he has been there for Lanis means I should try to give him a chance.
’we get into the car with Eligio driving and Darrien in the passenger seat. Lanis sits down in the middle and I rest my head on his shoulders. Being so close to him, being able to touch him is a dream come true. I don’t want this to end. I don’t want to ever leave his sight. My mate, the love of my life. I want to complete the ritual.
I want to become with him instantly.
’’Let’s take a rest stop,’’ Lanis informs Eligio who shakes his head immediately.
’’We have to get home. Cassius will find out about this and he will be looking for us.’’
I don’t want to risk their lives any further.
I hate this.
’’I know, just a couple of hours. There is a motel a couple of miles from here. He needs food, he needs a lot of rest. Just let him recuperate.’’
He is talking about me like I am not here.
’’I am fine,’’ my voice is croaky, almost like my voice box is condemned. In a couple of weeks, one person has made me a shell of who I am.
’’I want you to eat,’’ he cups my face in his palm. I close my eyes from his touch. Slowly opening them, I see all eyes on me. They are waiting to hear from me. to know if I can handle the drive home.
I know I can.
Being with Lanis is making me stronger but the look in his eyes show worry and fear.
This is the least I can do.
’’I don’t mind food.’’ I smile cheekily.
Chapter 75: Blue balls.
Alanis.
The motel is in the middle of nowhere.
The only way I know about it is because I saw it on our way.
I want him to rest.
He looks terrible.
He needs a shower.
He needs food.
It is going to be a long ride and I want him to feel a little more like himself. I plan to go and look for meat for him. If I have to roam through the ends of the earth. I will make him feel better.
This is not the person I know.
There is something in his eyes.
A darkness that I don’t know if I can clear out. I completely understand, he has been through so fucking much. He was kidnapped, kept in a cold room, starved and tortured. I would be the same if I wad in his shoes but I want to get him back to himself.
I want the person I love back; I know it is too early. I am not expecting him to forget everything in a second but I will be there for him. everyone wants to go home; they want to prepare for a war that is brewing. Cassius will never let this slide. He had a plan; he was going to kill Beau.
We ruined his plans and now he is going to come back for us. I will be expecting him and this time I won’t be as foolish. He can only win so many times and there is no winning for him again.
Eligio parks the car in the parking lot of the motel. It is empty except for one rusty looking truck. We can stay here and once Beau is cleaned up and eaten, we can leave. I look at the motel and the paint on the building is faded and chipped. The signboard is hanging—about to fall. This is not the place I want to be with him but this is the only place we have.
’’An hour max Alanis,’’ El says as he turns the ignition off in the car.
I nod because an hour should be enough. Beau is still resting his head on my shoulder. His breathing is steady. we all get down from the car and I walk hand in hand with Beau.
I walk to the reception and a girl who seems to be around eighteen looks up at us as I walk in. her hair is a bright red, there are tattoos all over arms. She raises a brow as I walk closer. I know how Beau looks right now; he is wearing one of the shirts I brought with me. I put it on him in the car but right now he looks like he was hit by a bus. His shorts are very dirty. His hair is a tousled mess. The bruises on his body have healed. Thanks to the blood I gave him. somehow feeding him my blood is the only reason he is awake right now. My blood literally runs through his veins, which in abstract means I am one with him.
The bond we have is undeniable.
’’Can we get a room?’’ I aks her politely.
She raises her brows as her eyes roam to Beau and then to me. After a couple of seconds, she gives us a fake smile ’’Cash or credit?’’
I reach into my pocket and bring out my wallet. She tells me how much and I toss the bill to her. The lady reaches for a shelve with keys and passes one to me ’’Room 104.’’
She stands up from the little stool she was sitting on and walks over the barricade of her table towards us ’’Follow me,’’ we follow her as she leads us towards the room. In front of the door ’’Room 104,’’ and with that she leaves us with the key.
Beau looks at me and there is a smile on his face. I open the door and we walk into the room with my hand on his tightly. Ever since I found him, I have been scared to leave him. until Cassius is found I don’t want him away from me. I close the room door and look around the room. There are twin beds in the middle of the room, with bedside tables beside each bed. There is a tv stand and tv in front of the room. The curtains are closed, blocking the sun from the room. I walk over to the light switch and turn it on. So, the plan is to give him a couple of minutes to have a shower, while I look for food for him. I don’t know if I will be able to find raw meat, but that is my sole mission.
Once the light is on, I feel him behind me. I turn around to his gaze, it is dark, there is something in it that terrifies me, Slowly I reach for him and he welcomes me into his arms. His body is cold, so very cold. This man in front of me is broken because of that monster and I feel like I am not doing enough to make him feel better ’’Thank you Lanis. Thank you so much,’’ he cries in my arms. The only other time I have seen him like this is when he lost his father. I don’t know what to say.
He doesn’t need to thank me.
He would do the same for me. No doubt about that.
He stays in my arms for God knows how long. After a while, I pull back from him because there is a tie constraint. Eligio gave us an hour, I need him clean and fed. That is the least I can do right now.
’’I want you to have a shower.’’
He nods and I help him with his clothes, it is not long before he is naked in front of me. there is no shyness in his eyes as I watch him. I walk over to the door leading to the bathroom and walk inside, Beau follows me. he is being really submissive. This is a side of him I have never seen. He has always been in control.
Now it seems like he is letting me take the lead.
The bathroom is not the grandest. In fact, this is like a one-star kinda motel but we have to make do with it. I open the shower curtain and turn on the shower. Water pours out of it, at first it is really cold but after a couple of seconds it switches to hot. I want him to have a hot bath, get his body temperature back up.
’’While you’re in the shower, I will go look for something for you to eat. It will only take a couple of minutes.’’ I cup his face in my palms and he closes his eyes. I bend forward until my face is closer to his with my hands still on his face. His eyes remain closed as I press my lips to his. I feel him stiffen against me. I have missed touching him, I have missed kissing him and you can call me selfish. This is not the right time for this but I need him to know how loved he is. I need him to know that I will always be there for him.
His mouth moves against mine, he is responding better than I expected him to. Guess he missed me as much as I did. I let go of his face and grab him by his waist. He is still naked but he holds unto me as we deepen the kiss. The electricity surges within me. it feels like he is crumbling my whole existence and putting it back together. With just one fucking kiss. I push him against the wall, his back hits it with a loud thud but we don’t stop. he is my medicine; I have been sick without him for two weeks. I need him more than I have ever needed anyone.
Beau slides his hands all over my body, from my arms to my stomach, his hands grope and feel every inch of me and I crave more. I want so much more than we can tonight. He moans into my mouth and I revel in the sound that comes from him.
So sexy, that I feel my dick throb against him.
He is hard against me too.
This is not one-sided and I love every second of this bit at this moment, I need to control myself. I need to think about him and getting him better. I didn’t bring him here to mess around with him. I brought him here for a little solace. A little time off the road to rest and recoup.
I let go of his waist suddenly and pull away from the kiss begrudgingly. He tries to kiss me again but I take another step away. He groans against my lips and I rest my head on his forehead as my heart races against my chest.
I need a lot more from him.
’’Have your shower. I need to get you stuff to eat,’’ I let go of him and he doesn’t object. He walks into the shower and I head for the door ’’I’ll lock the door from the outside.’’
He nods and I leave the room with so much frustration.
Fucking blue balls.
