Chapter 151
She was also hungry, heck that was her favorite meal ever but she just smiled and handed over the food to Dexter.
” Now you can eat to your heart’s content.”
Dexter smiled but didn’t take her food, he was just amazed at how nice she was treating him right now. It was complete change from the woman who hated his existence, ‘ since he couldn’t get her back to be his woman, he will make sure to keep her as a good friend from now on and never cross her bad side.’ He thought to himself.
” No no, I’m just fooling around, I know pork ribs are your favorite so how could I be so heartless and eat everything, besides I still can’t eat any solid foods till I get a green light from the doctor.”
He said that as he took a small jug with a smoothie that was on his bed side table and drank up.
” Well I would’ve went down again and bought more. You are injured and deserves to be treated like a patient.”
“You are too kind, you know.”
They chatted for a minute then Ciara left with the excuse that she was there with the guards and they needed to send food to the man in her ward.
As soon she left Dexter’s room, she heaved a sigh of relief. She could now relax, knowing that Dexter was going to recover well and she would now be free from guilt. What she also learned from the time she was in Dexter’s room is that, even though dodge had forgiven him, they still had nothing in common.
As soon as they entered her room they heated their food using the microwave that was made available in her room.
After all the food was warmed up, the guys took their meals, walked to the couch ouside Ciara’s room and ate.
Ciara too got herself warm and cosy in the bed, then took her plastic container and dug in.
She found that her ribs were perfectly seasoned, tender and juicy in the inside, she enjoyed her meal so much that she found herself chewing even the bones.
Once she was done, she put the empty container in the bin and went back to bed where she stared at the ceiling until she fell asleep.
The next day, she was woken up by the sounds of her baby playing. First she thought she was dreaming but then when she opened her eyes she found Liam sitting next to her bed with Lina on his lap.
” Oh baby, mommy have been missing you guys. How long have you been here?”
She directed the second question to her husband Liam who was playing with Katalina.
” Long enough, but we didn’t want to wake you up so we were outside with the doctor, we only came in now.”
” Is there anything wrong with me?”
“None for now, you have been cleared to go home, so you can go and get ready. I’ve already signed your release forms.”
Indeed Ciara got out of bed right away and in no time she was ready and changed in to the clothes that Liam had brought her.
Once she was done, she noticed that Liam had already packed up her things so she just followed behind while holding Lina.
They decided to go back to her place as she still didn’t feel comfortable being around a lot of people since what had just happened.
When they arrived Ms Nicky had already prepared a lot of dishes for them to enjoy.
” You know you didn’t have to trouble yourself with so many dishes, thank you.”
” Ow I don’t mind at all, besides this is my Job.”
With that Ciara sat down and started eating her food and also fed her daughter whenever Lina extended her hand.
Boity was woken up by the sound of the noisy steel door opening. She slowly opened her eyes and saw an officer in a karki uniform walk in towards her.
” wake up prisoner, time to go to your new home.”
The officer disconnected her cuffs from the table and walked her out to the bus that would be transporting them to the prison quarters.
Boity’s body ached all over as she had spent her entire night sleeping on a chair. She looked disheveled like a homeless woman, with her unkept hair. Although she was being transported to the real prison she still looked and felt proud.
She thought she was better than everyone in that bus, so it’s without a doubt that people will serve her and her time here wouldn’t be as miserable to as it would to all the other inmates.
Sadly that was all but a dream as reality hit, as soon as she got to they entered the prison premises.
Inmates were singing prison songs welcoming the home, one of the leaders even pointed her out as her new wife. That meant that as soon as she was sentenced, she would moved to that woman’s cell and she’d perform wife duties until fresh meat come in or when the leaders gets tired of her. When she look on the other side she saw that people were arguing about something and that argument escalated so fast that not even the officers saw it coming and the a fight had started. By the time the officers were able to break off the fight one of the inmates was already injured and was blessing.
All of this behavior got her spooked and scared for her life.
They were then pushed in to the showers, where they all need to take off their clothes in front of each other as well as the officers who was watching of them and take a cold shower there.
At this point, she felt so humiliated and dehumanized being seen and watched by so many people while she was naked.
” Better get use to it girlie, this is how we do things over here.”
One of the officers pointed out when they noticed how uncomfortable Boity was in front of them.
Once they were all done, they were given orange overalls to were and were then allocated to their cells.
Boity was sharing a cell with four other women who seemed to be used to this prison life.
One was a drug dealer , the other three were either there for theft of murder.
Although they were allthere for different crime, all four of them were part of a gang in some way.
Once they said which gang one belonged to, animosity formed in that cell and it was obvious that one needed to sleep with one eye open as the enermy could strike at any time when they least expect it.
she spent the entire weekend in complete misery, she was picked on and bullied all the time and there was this inmate who kept taking her food. Everytime when that inmate didn’t get satisfied with their own food and still felt hungry even after eating that woman would go to the weakest link which was Boity and forcefully take her food.
The only thing that kept her going was the hope that when she goes to the court on Monday the judge would feel sorry for her and grant her freedom.
What she didn’t know though was how tight her case was. On Monday she was woken up by the warden and she went on to bath using that very cold water from the prison, after taking a showered she put on a fresh set of clothes , after breakfast she was then taken to the court where she spent the entire morning in the waiting area as the judge was still dealing with other cases.
After sometime, she got to meet her state appointed lawyer who was just a mess and looked like he didn’t know what he was doing.”
” What is your name again miss? Ooh great so what do you want or aim to achieve with this case?”
Listening to the lawyer Boity felt like punching him in the face.
Chapter 152
she felt that already her case a disaster and for the state to give her such an incompetent lawyer was just a way of telling her that she was good as dead.
Come to think of it, there was only person who wanted her to suffer like that and get punished so she felt that Liam had a hand in all of this.
It was undeniable that he was an infuencial man so making this work towards his favor was really not a difficult thing to do.
” Liam you bastard!”
They sat there probably an hour or two before it was finally her time to meet the judge.
What she noticed during her meeting with her lawyer was that he knew nothing about the case and was learning it all through the docket in front of her now, just only a few hours before he needed to perform.
They were soon called in, Boity stood up and walked to their courtroom with one had covering her face as all cameras were pointed at her. Since Friday the day of the shooting, Boity had been the talk of town, so it was without a doubt that the media companies and news outlets would want to cover the story.
All she felt at this moment was embarrassment, she wanted the whole floor to open up and bury herself in that hole.
At this point she knew she was going to fail in front of the whole country considering how big of a case that was.
The person she was being accused of almost murdering was the wife of one of the most important figures in that country.
Being proven guilty would mean that even the inmates who are Ciara’s fans and who were following up with the case would know exactly what had happend and might want avenge their idol.
It went just as she had thought, when the judge called her in, the prosecutor which was Matthew had already compiled strong evidence against her.
He presented all of that evidence to the judge and when the court went throught it, that information was found to be reliable hence the judgment will be based on that.
When she was asked if she would plead guilty of the presented charges Boity pleaded,
” Not guilty.”
And because of that, it was determined by the court that Boity was not remorseful for her crime hence would be given the maximum sentence which was 20 years of imprisonment and would have to serve 15 years of that time in prison without qualifying for parole.
By the time the sentencing was over and was time to take her back to prison, she kicked up a fight.
” You take bribes, yes I know that, that bi*ch Ciara bribed you. I’m coming for you, I’ll come for each and everyone of you.”
The guard immediately restrained her and removed her from the court house as she was making a lot of noise with her screaming and shouting.
Because of the scene that she had caused, none of the reporters were able to get an interview from her. So after reporting about the court’s proceeding they packed up their things and left.
Boity was put in the prisoner’s bus and was taken back to prison alongside other prisoners.
The drive was long, with her lost I’m her thoughts. She was about to be turned in to a wife of some random woman she had never seen and knew nothing about.
Heck she wasn’t even gay to begin with but now she had to act like she was.
She was now thinking of other ways she would be able to use in order to survive the next 20 years to come.
She was pretty with a bottle shaped body, if it wasn’t for her personality and attitude a lot of men would kill to have her, so she thought maybe she could just use that to her advantage.”
She was in a famale only prison, which meant that most of the male wardens were surrounded by women all the time. But the fact that they were not allowed to touch any of these women made them yearn for them even more.
So she thought to herself maybe if she could just find one warden to sleep with maybe they would be able to have a much bearable stay there in her new home.
Since she had already spent the whole weekend in place, she had already had an idea of who she could mess with and who not to mess with.
At this point she had already had a target in her mind, it was a warden who was known for his womanizing ways and would always make remarks to prisoners about their looks and that man was also in the bus with them. So as the bus pulled over, and all the prisoners got off the bus, Boity got out last but as she passed by the warden she stopped and complained about the terrible headache that she had.
” Warden Liu, it’s too painful I don’t think I can take it any more. Can I get any pain medication please, This headache is getting bad now.”
He looked at her for a second there, trying to figure out if she had anything planned out, but he wasn’t able to read through her mind.
He then called out to his other two colleagues and told them about the situation, and said that he did have some pills in his office but that would mean that he’ll have to leave the two colleagues to bring the inmates to their cells by themselves.
” That’s nothing, we will be able to take them in. You just have to take care of that one and also book her a slot with the prison doctor if it doesn’t go down.”
One of his coworker commented as they started counting the prisoners and taking them in to their new cells.
” Follow me.”
The wardner said to Boity while looking at her. They started walking towards his office which wasn’t too far from the cells.
” You know if you had behaved yourself like a lady and not scream like that, you’d be fine right now.”
She looked down and responded with a low voice as if she was ashamed of herself.
” I know, I was just too shocked about the outcome.”
The wardener opened his office door and got inside, Boity followed him in and closed the door behind her.
Liu checked around for the pills, once he had found the, he took out two handed it over to Boity and also gave her a bottle of water.
” Thank you.”
” You are beautiful you know,if only circumstances were different,I’d probably make you my woman.”
He said jokingly but it was also obvious that he was flirting with her.
Boity smiled revealing a line of beautiful white teeth, she knew this would come. As long as she created an opportunity for them to be alone, with Liu’s personality everything else would be easy.
” And what’s stopping you now?”
She too flirted back now positioning herself in a way that Liu would view as sexy.
She was surprised that she played along, she had viewed her as one of those women from the rich families who thought life revolved around them would still behave like they were better than everybody even when they were now in prison.
” You know I can’t touch you or any woman in this building.”
” Well rules are made to be broken.”
” Are you serious? Won’t you end up reporting me?”
” And why would I do that? Want me to prove that to you?”
Although Liu was a player, that question still confused him, he didn’t know how Boity was going to prove that she wouldn’t report him for harassing her.
Seeing that he was now confused, she stood up and walked up to him and gave him a mind blowing k**s and then said,
” Remove these and I will show more.”
He thought about that for a while but knowing that there were guards moving up and down every minute, Liu knew that Boity wasn’t going to escape so he uncuffed both her hands. Once that was done Boity had him sit down on his office chair and then got on top of him. She whispered in his ear while slightly kissing it.
” How do you like it?”
Without waiting for him to respond, she went down on him and untied his belt. She then started kissing and sucking on his shaft, after sometime of give him pleasure she then got up and sat on top him again but this time it was directly on his shaft.
As she went down, his shaft went deeper and deeper inside her, she then started riding it as if she was on a horse. She started slowly but gradually increased her pace, taking him to places he’s never been.
Chapter 153
Once they were done, Boity cleaned herself with the wet wipes he had on his desk.
” There’s more from where that came from, but it will alsi come with conditions.”
Still deeply intoxicated by the session they just had Liu was ready to agree to her request.
” Name it.”
” It’s not really something difficult, I need you to protect me while I’m here.”
Liu thought that the request was just a piece of cake, so he was open to it. But when he heard that she wanted a different cell than that of that leader who wanted to make her, her wife, it was a different story.
” I can do anything for you but that is just a difficult task to do, see that woman is a gang leader of the biggest gang in this prison and everyone here respect her or should I say are scared of her.
I can get you a different cell but that would not stop her from coming to you. She’s well connected and has the money to pay people and that means she can do what ever she wants to do.”
Disappointment was written all over her face, all of that work for nothing.
Since it had been a long time since they’ve been inside, Liu took her to her new cell different from the one she was supposed to go to.
Although she had a new cell, her anxiety never lowered and thus did not get enough sleep as she spent the entire night worried about the possibility of the leader coming to her cell.
When morning came also her horror life began, everything was not as she had thought they’d be. This was when she learned how it felt like to be a prisoner.
Ciara spent the entire weekend with family and friends, it was a busy time for her as she was planning the wedding alongside the Wedding planner that Liam had hired to do everything but Ciara still wanted to help.
This was possibly her coping mechanism, she never really dealt with the whole traumatic experience but just pushed everything to the back of her mind and kept herself busy.
Although this helped on the first and second day, it started to catch up with her as she would be fine during her interaction with everyone during the day, but as soon as she closed her eyes at night, she would have dreams of that Friday afternoon.
She’d clearly see the man forcefully holding her and getting her to dance along to the weird song he was playing on his music player or radio and a gun would suddenly go off.
Everytime she has this dream she would wakeup screaming and everytime Liam would have to soothe her. This was the very reason why Liam would never forgive Boity for her crimes.
There was only nine days left till their wedding so this made her think it was time for her to sort out her emotions and see someone professional about it.
She was currently laying on Liams chest, with him rubbing her back trying to soothe her as she had just had one of those haunting dreams.
“You know that the man is now locked up in a high security prison and would never be able to lay a finger on you.?
“Yes but just thinking about him freaks me out, maybe I need to see a professional and talk about this.”
” It could be, but maybe also seeing him there in prison locked up, would bring you closure and healing.”
Their conversation ended with Ciara wanting to try out a doctor first before even going to the prison which can potentially coz more harm than good.
She fell asleep again as soon as she had calmed down a bit.
The following morning she woke up early and called her friend Donna, she wanted recommendation for local psychologists to help.
” Hey Cici, how are you holding up?”
Donna greeted her with a caring voice as as soon as she picked up her phone.
” Hey friend, It’s bad. You know I’ve been having nightmares since that night and I think that I can no longer pretend to be string anymore as this is now affecting certain aspects of my life.”
” Me too, but I decided to go to therapy and joined yesterday. Why don’t you join me as well, that doctor is good.”
Well that was what the call was for, so Ciara asked for the contact details for that doctor’s practice and once their call ended, she immediately made another to that practice and booked an appointment. Luckily they had a free slot on that very day, and so she picked that.
” Will you be fine with Lina today or should I take her to work when you go see the doctor this afternoon?.”
Liam asked as soon as Ciara told him that she had made an appointment to see a specialist that day.
“No it shouldn’t be a problem, Mom will come and help Ms Nicky. It will only take 2 hours then I’ll come back, don’t worry.”
Liam was shocked to hear that Ciara’s mom would be there, because as much as they had sorted out their differences, there was still a strain in their relationship. Which was probably why they had seen each other only two or three times in the past year.
” Relax mom is pretty good with children, I’m sure that she’ll be able to handle Lina, besides Ms Nicky will also be here.”
“Mhmm.”
Since he didn’t have much to say in this matter, he chose to just agree. It was Ciara’s mother after all, if she trusted her then it was fine with him.
After finishing his breakfast breakfast, he went on to k**s his daughter and told her to be good and behave herself. He then also went to his wife and said,
” It’s been a while since we’ve had fun, how about we take her to the theme park this afternoon. We can also have dinner together at some nice restaurant what do you think?”
Ciara smiled while reaching out to k**s him and then replied,
” I’m sure that will be a lot fun, can’t wait.”
After their date was set, Liam said his goodbye and left for work, leaving the two women alone with Ciara still struggling to get Lina to eat.
” You know you will not grow well and bloom like the Katalina flower if you do not eat your food.”
Hearing that she wouldn’t be as beautiful as her favorite flowerer made her eat even more.
She would even open her mouth wide after swallowing just so that Ciara could see that she had finished.
Once they were done eating, Ciara cleared up the table, but Lina also wanted to help her out and would cry when she was told to go play, hence Ciara gave her the cutlery to carry.
Chapter 154
After clearing up table and putting everything in the kitchen, Ciara put Lina in her stroller and Decided to take her for a walk.
They walked pass their beautiful lush garden straight out to the beach front taking in all the fresh air and scenery around her communty. She felt at peace for the first time since that traumatic day, it could be because she had now taken her first step towards healing.
They sat down on the sand further from the water and watched the waves as they came and went.
She was then disturbed by her phone ringing as she was still admiring the nature around her.
” Mom?”
She answered the phone as soon as she saw who was calling her.
” Hey baby, I’m at your House now and don’t tell me that you have changed your mind because I really want to spend some time with my granddaughter.”
When she checked the time, Ciara realized that her appointment time was nearing and would certainly be late if she didn’t start moving right at that time.
” Shoot, sorry mom, I’m down by the beach. Don’t worry though, I’m coming right away.”
She then ended the call and started pushing her dirty daughter who was now full of sand from playing in the sand.
When they reached the villa they found Hillary sitting on the couch enjoying her cup of tea with biscuits and happily chatting with Ms Nicky. They had hit it off from the start and got along really well.
” Sorry to keep you waiting, I lost track of time.”
Hillary looked at her daughter who had a layer of sweat from all the rushing but still chose to reprimand her.
” How about a ‘Hello mom, how are you today?’ , Ciara that’s not how I raised you.”
Ciara looked down in shame, she was in a hurry just now that she even forgot to greet her elder.
Ignoring her Hillary walked to to the baby in the stroller and started playing with her.
She tickled Lina asking her if she’s been a good girl and behaving well, but all that Lina did was to giggle and laugh at her.
Hillary then raised her head and looked at Ciara who was still standing in the same position.
” Are you going to stand there like a rod?”
“Uhm mom, I know that you were only here for a visit but, can I ask you to babysit Lina for a hour or two hours for me, will you?”
Hillary looked at her deeply then shook her head,
” Ciara is this really what we’ve become. I’m your mother yet you still talk to me as if walking on glasses. Can’t you just say you need to go out and the place where you are going to and I’ll stay with Lina. She is my granddaughter after all.”
Ciara didn’t know what to say, it was because their relationship was strained that she wasn’t able to rely on her parents for everything, but always have to confirm with them first.
She smiled and said,
” Thank you mom, Let me give Lina a bath then.”
” No you get yourself ready, I’ll sort everything for Lina and I’m sure Nicky will help me out with what I can not find.”
With that Ciara nodded and made her way to her bedroom where she took a shower and got herself ready for her session with the doctor.
She came out of her room looking and smelling amazing, she then went downstairs and bid farewell to the others.
By the time she got out of the house Liam was already parked outside waiting for her.
” Hey aren’t you supposed to be at work right now?”
” No, I am where I’m supposed to be. My wife can not be going through this all by herself, I’ll be taking you to your appointment now.”
He then opened the door for Ciara to get in and then helped her with her seat belt. Once they were both settled in car, Liam drove off and headed to their destination.
Upon arrival Ciara was asked to fill in a few documents and waited for the doctor to call her in, and so they sat there with her lazily laying her head on Liam’s shoulder.
” Ciara you may come in now.”
The doctor’s assistant called her in, so they stood up and headed to their appointed room, but were stopped by the same assistant before they got inside.
” I’m afraid you can not go in Sir, Doctor Lindy only allows one patient at a time. Should she see that your wife needs extra support then you will be called in.”
Since it was put in that way and Ciara had also nodded her head to show that she’d be fine, Liam had no choice but to sit back down even though he wasn’t comfortable with it.
Ciara walked in and found Doctor Lindy writing something on her notebook. Since the woman didn’t say anything and continued to write, Ciara decided to just sit down without being invited to do so and wait for her to finish.
When Lindy saw a woman sitting in front of her she stopped and looked up to Ciara and welcomed her with a smile.
” Good day, my Name is Doctor Lindy and I’ll be your therapist for the day and hopefully if you do enjoy our session today we may continue together.”
” Thank you, well I’m Ciara Jones.”
” They told me that you want us to help you deal with a trauma caused by a recent accident, is that right?”
” correct.”
Ciara then went on to relay the event of that night, the more she thought about it was the more emotional she became.
Noting that her voice was becoming raspy and her eyes starting to wet up a little, Lindy pushed a box of tissue paper and continued to listen why jotting down her thoughts on the matter.
” Ok, let’s dig in to the matter, what do you think drove her in to that? What pushed her in to wanting to kill you?”
Ciara took a deep breath and paused while staring at the ceiling above her.
” That’s ok take your time.”
She then moved her eyes from the ceiling to the woman in front of her.
” I don’t know, I guess she hates me that much and wants me dead that’s why.”
Lindy nodded her head then started writing again once was done she continued to ask her question.
” What makes you think that she hates you? Did you do something to her to evoke that hate?”.
Ciara shook her head and then said,
” I have no idea really, but she had been like that since growing up. I remember that she was never happy whenever I’d get something she viewed as better than what she had, and would often try to take my things forcefully as she felt that I didn’t deserve it.”
” I see, so tell me how did you respond to her whenever she bullied you and tried to take your things?”
” Fight her of cause, I mean my parents bought it for me for a reason so why would I let someone take it away just like that.”
” So what you are saying is that, she had never successfully taken anything from you.”
Ciara was about to respond with a firm yes, but then remembered that Boity had once dated Dexter behind her back, which caused Dexter to breakup with her at some point.
” Not really, she had once dated my fiance at that time.”
” And how did you respond to that when you found out about them.”
She thought for some time, trying hard to look back to the event that took place years ago.
” well nothing really, by the time I found about the reason Dexter dumped me, I was already married and had made peace with the fact that he didn’t want to be with me. I did however complain to my husband and friends about it, nothing too major.”
The woman went silent and this time she spent a whole five minutes writing down and this felt like a life time to Ciara who didn’t know what Lindy felt about her response. She wasn’t sure whether Lindy was judging her or if she had sympathy for her and because of that she started getting fidgety and played with her fingers just to distract herself while Lindy is doing her thing.
” May I ask, what are you writing?”
Lindy looked at her with a smile and closed her notebook, placing a pen inside to mark the page she was in.
” Nothing to worry about, It’s just a few notes of our session.”
” Do you think that I should’ve reacted in a certain way other than how I did?”
” Well I think that you bottled in a lot of emotions, but this isn’t about me and what I think. You need to asked yourself if you’ve dealt with all your past traumas, because these things turn to build up and when It’s for it to come out, it will surely explode and sometimes you may not be able to cope.
Yes, this time it was caused by Boity, but how many other traumatic situations have you been through that you didn’t do anything about?”.
Chapter 155
When Ciara thought about what Doctor Lindy just said, she realized that this was really not the first or second time that Boity tried to harm her.
Each time Ciara would just let it pass and would put it at the back of her mind as if it had never happened.
She thought about a few incidents from when they were young, although Ciara was able to stand up for herself but Boity was really aggressive towards her. She also thought about the time they met overseas when she was gloating at her as she had been dating Dexter at that time but soon changed her attitude immediately when she spotted her talking to Dexter.
She even landed in hospital when they knocked her unconscious during that shooting period overseas. Most recently she threatened her with a knife, and at that time Ciara was sure that if Hillary hadn’t came to the kitchen, Boity would’ve stabbed her and her baby to death.
” But I just don’t understand, why would she hate me this much, I mean we’re cousins for heaven’s sake. We should look out for each other and not try to harm the other.”
” Well that’s an answer only she can tell you, how about you visit her, ask all the questions in your heart, that is if you are comfortable though. If not, try to write a letter to her , pen down all your feelings and we will discuss this on our next session.”
Lindy looked down at her watched and saw that it was time for her next patient, so she wrapped up her session with Ciara and bid her farewell.
Ciara then went out to the assistant and booked her next appointment, she was still not sure how it went, if it will be helping her or not but decided to book it anyway.
When she was done with Everything ,she went out looking for Liam and found him just outside the doctor’s office with a laptop on his lap and was on a phone call which seemed important. Ciara figured that the man probably kept himself busy by doing some of his work while she was in her session. He was running a multi billion rands company so it was without a doubt that he’ll always be busy, but chooses to clear some of his time for his wife.
When he noticed Ciara standing in front of the door of doctor Lindy’s office he wrapped up his call, closed his laptop and stood up walking up to his wife.
He then hugged her, and wiped the wet drops of tears that she wasn’t able to wipe off.
” You were crying.”
Ciara looked down not wanting to face Liam’s eyes while looking like that and then she nodded her head.
” Yeah, a little.”
” Why? Did she do anything to you?”
Again She used her head as a response as she shook her head, but Liam put his hand on her chin and lifted it up so that she could look at him.
” I’m telling the truth, I just became a little emotional that’s all.”
” Ok let’s go.”
Liam nodded and then took his things as they both headed to the car, but because Liam hadn’t finished with his work he drove them straight to his walk place.
“I will not come in with you, let me pick Lina up and we will come looking for you in your office.”
Although Liam wanted to spend some time with just his wife, he knew that she’d end up being bored all alone as he still had something urgent to do for work. So he offered to driver her back home but all he got was ,
” No don’t worry my love, go finish your work, I’ll just take a cab and I’ll be fine.”
Liam though wasn’t satisfied with her answer so he called one of his drivers to drive Ciara home and also bring her back when she is done.
So when the man came, he did just that. When Ciara got home she came back to a very peaceful, quiet house.
” Mom? Lina?”
She called out for the two but was soon stopped by Ms Nicky as her shouting were a bit too loud.
” Shhhh, you will wake them up. They are both sleeping in Lina’s room.”
So Ciara immediately covered her month with one of her hands and nodded, she then walked upstairs to the direction of Lina’s bedroom. When she got there found her mom sleeping peacefully on the small bed next to Lina’s cot with Lina also sleeping next to her but now sleeping in a different position.
One of Lina’s legs was right on Hillary’s chest and her head around the buttock area. When she saw this, Ciara smiled and then took out her phone, snapped the picture and sent it straight to Liam with a caption.
” something to brighten your day.”
While looking at the room around her, she noticed that something was missing. That Catalina plant she was painting that day in Liam’s office over a year ago.
Although she had finished with the painting, she never really had the time to put it up, till the time she totally forgot about it and was only focused on taking care of both her husband and daughter who was very young at that time.
She went out, not forgetting to close the door as she left.
She walked over the room that she had turned in to a studio and office. Went over the pile of paintings she had, till she found the one signed with ‘ My darling Lina.’
She then took it out of the protective cover that it was in, removed the small dust that had gathered around it and then took another picture and sent it over to Liam.
” Remember the missing element in Lina’s room, now we’ve found it.”
Looking at this picture Liam who was in his office, having a meeting with two of his subordinates was actually confused when he saw this picture. He didn’t know why that picture in particular could be what was missing in his daughter’s room. In response, he knitted his eyebrows and threw the phone back at the table.
When they noticed his reaction his subordinates looked at each other thinking that it was something to do with them and that they’d probably messed something up.
” Continue.”
He told them as he reached out to take his phone again, went on the internet and searched Catalina flower and was greeted by a vibrant pink orchid similar to the painting Ciara sent him so he smiled and started typing.
” Baby Lina in the painting?”
Now the subordinates were confused by this, first he seemed stressed but now their boss was smiling on his phone, was he even listening to them?.
Liam told them to redo their pitch as it still contained some loopholes.
After dismissing them he called his wife.
” Hey.”
A sweet pleasant voice of Ciara came through his phone speaker as she answered his call.
” What time are you coming, or should I pick you up?”
” No you focus on doing your work, we will come when you knock off.”
” But why so late, I want to see you guys now!”
Liam complained like a little boy but that didn’t shock nor did it annoy his wife one bit as she had gotten used to this side of his, unlike his subordinate who only know the aloof, cold and scary side of Liam.
” Miss us that much?”
He nodded, but when he realized that Ciara couldn’t really see him then he said,
” Yeah.”
At the end of their conversation it was concluded that Ciara would not be waiting for his knock off time but would bring Lina along with her as soon as she wakes up from her nap.
Since that was settled Ciara chose to make herself a salad as she was hungry and hadn’t had anything since morning. She needed to save space for dinner as they’d be going out later with Liam, she thought a salad would be good option for now.
As she dug in to her meal she started hearing noise coming from upstairs and when she listened carefully she realized that it as her daughter’s voice asking for her mommy.
” Mommy isn’t home yet baby, don’t cry.”
Hillary tried hard to console this little girl, but Lina got out of bed and started taking her small self out of the room.
” No, Mama.”
She called out with her small baby voice, and Ciara got up and went upstairs to see what was going on. By the time she got to her daughter, Lina looked as if she was about to explode and cry even louder. But as soon as she saw her mother all of those emotions disappeared and she was a happy child again.
” Mommy!”
She came running to hug her dearest mother. Although she was used to Ms Nicky and would see her grandmother from time to time, Lina was still a mommy’s girl and needed her mother’s presence at all times.
