Ch. 391..400
To Be Yours Again by Taylor Chapter 391-None of Your Business Jenny watched Alec disappear from her sight, tears burning in her eyes. She wiped them away before they could fall and went back into her apartment.
Christopher stood in the corner, watching the scene unfold and feeling unbearably awkward. He had never expected the two to break up just because he stayed at Jenny’s for dinner. He also didn’t expect to feel this terrible seeing his original goal accomplished.
“Are you…alright? I promise I didn’t do it on purpose,” he muttered, shying away from Jenny’s eyes. She walked past him and into her apartment, not saying anything. Christopher ran after her hurriedly. “I really didn’t expect you two to-” Jenny shot back coldly, “It’s nothing to do with you.” Even if he hadn’t been there, they would’ve broken up when the topic of her being a substitute was raised.
Christopher sighed with relief. “They wouldn’t have broken up just because I stuck around for instant noodles,” he thought.
Jenny went straight into the elevator while Christopher followed along.
“Why are you still here?” she asked once she was inside.
“Just here for you if you need me.” Christopher beamed. He needed to grab the opportunity now that Jenny had broken up with Alec.
“I don’t.” Jenny closed the elevator doors, disappearing from his sight.
Christopher stayed in place. He knew if he insisted on following Jenny, she’d only hate him more, so he turned to go back home. His grandfather would be delighted to hear the news of her breakup.
Back in the elevator, Jenny was at her lowest point. She had hoped Alec would refuse to break up with her, not this.
But what if he did? It wouldn’t have changed her decision to not be with him. She wasn’t going to become someone’s substitute. The breakup was inevitable.
Jenny sighed. Things had returned to how they were supposed to be, at least.
After all, they were never meant to be together.
When she returned to her apartment, she lay in bed and vowed not to think about it any longer. Meanwhile, Alec was in his office inhaling a cigarette, its butt soon to join the several others by his shoes. He was in a terrible mood right now.
When Vincent stepped into the office, he noticed his boss’ demeanor and started to worry.
“You called, Mr. Faust?” Alec snubbed his cigarette. “Get two things done: one, spread words of my breakup with Jenny, and make sure that man is notified of it too; two, schedule meetings with those directors on the board.” He firmly believed he could move those old men. He was able to give them whatever Mortimer promised them, and more.
Vincent nodded. “You broke up with… Miss Walter?” Alec said nothing, which Vincent took as assent.
“But why, sir? Did…did Mr. Mortimer do something?” Vincent asked.
Alec shook her head. “The reason isn’t important. What’s important is Mortimer won’t mess with her now.”
To Be Yours Again by Taylor Chapter 392-Not Sure’l Know What You Mean Vincent wondered if Mr. Faust had broken up with Jenny in order to protect her, then affirmed this guess. His boss could do anything to ensure his loved one’s safety. He was just unsure if Jenny knew of this sacrifice.
After Vincent left, Alec sat alone in his office, letting exhaustion wash over him. He had been riddled with anxiety ever since Mortimer threatened to hurt Jenny, never having a chance to truly rest.
Breaking up now was the best choice. He could always explain everything to Jenny after things had calmed down.
As for Quinn… Alec’s face fell. He called Vincent again.
“Find out who Jenny has come into contact with these past few days.” He didn’t believe Jenny would snoop through his study for no reason. Someone must’ve told her something.
The news of their breakup soon spread like wildfire. Almost everyone in Parrington’s upper class came to know of this; they were even more shocked that the two had been dating in the first place.
When Jenny came to work the next day, Jade came up to her first thing. “You’re here early. Are you alright?” “Me? I’m fine.” Jenny frowned. Was she not supposed to be? “I’m just here to settle the copyright claim before anything worse happens.” Jade didn’t know what to say, seeing Jenny so unfazed by the breakup. “Jenny, about you and Alec Jenny grew still, then shrugged. “It’s just a breakup, no big deal. Don’t worry about me. I’m not the kind to get all sad and desperate over those things.” The more she seemed unbothered, the surer Jade was about Jenny being upset by it. How she wished Jenny would cry it all out. That way her emotions could be sufficiently expressed.
Jade was about to say something again before Jenny interrupted her, “Have Felicity come see me. Last night wouldn’t have happened if it weren’t for her.” Yvonne wouldn’t have gotten her hands on her design if Felicity hadn’t been so “kind.” Jade said nothing else, only had Felicity come into Jenny’s office. Felicity had her doubts when she was called in but didn’t dare ascertain them.
“Her actions couldn’t have been found out, right?” she thought.
“You called, Jade?” Jade had lived in the same village as Felicity, but they weren’t really that close. Good thing it didn’t affect their relationship.
Right?
Jade glanced at Jenny, saying nothing.
Jenny stood up and went right up to Felicity. “What did Yvonne promise you in exchange for your help?” Felicity’s heart jumped into her throat, though she forced herself to stay calm. “I’m not sure I know what you mean, Jenny.” “You don’t know?” Jenny sneered. “Didn’t you steal the fashion drawing and show the finished work to Yvonne?” Yvonne wouldn’t have created clothes exactly like La Vie Jen Rose Designs if that wasn’t the case.
Felicity stepped back in shock but still acted like she was framed. “What are you saying, Jenny? How could I ever do that to you?” “No? You don’t know my study has cameras installed, do you?” Jenny’s smile made the hairs on the back of Felicity’s neck stand up.
To Be Yours Again by Taylor Chapter 393-Please Don’t!
“C-cameras…?” Felicity stuttered. “Cameras in her own home? Is Jenny some kind of a control freak?” she thought.
Jenny chuckled, showing her cousin the clip of her sneaking into her study. “I feel so sorry for Uncle David, Felicity.” She had really hoped her cousin would turn over a new leaf.
Felicity gaped at the video, then stammered out, “S-so what? You can’t prove that I gave it to Yvonne!” Clearly, she had prepared herself for a confrontation.
As if expecting the answer, Jenny showed her another footage. “This is when you stole the finished clothing from the warehouse.” “You…” And another one. “This one’s when you met with Yvonne’s assistant in person, handing her the materials. What else can’t I prove, dear cousin?” Felicity was truly slack-jawed now. “Where did Jenny get her hands on all this footage? She doesn’t have personal cameras in the public street where she met with Yvonne’s assistant, right? What kind of skill sets does Jenny have?” These thoughts were running through her mind.
“Report this to the police, Jade.” Jenny sighed and waved her hand. She couldn’t tolerate Felicity any longer. La Vie Jen Rose Designs couldn’t fail now, and it was time her cousin tasted the consequences of her actions.
The moment Felicity heard her, she panicked. “Jenny, please…please don’t! I was wrong, I’m sorry! I won’t do it again, I swear!” She even held onto Jenny’s hand, begging, “Please, please forgive me! I swear this won’t happen again!” Jenny wanted to laugh. She shrugged off Felicity’s hand. “We’re grown adults now, Felicity. It’s time you learned what happens when you make the wrong choices.” “No…” Jenny got up to leave, trusting Jade to handle the rest. She didn’t have to worry about her cousin, just the matter of telling her uncle about it worried her.
Still, she called her Uncle David.
To her surprise, David wasn’t upset at her. In fact, he felt ashamed of his daughter and regretful about what happened to Jenny. He even supported having Felicity arrested. It was time his daughter got what was coming to her.
His wife thought differently. After knowing about her daughter’s arrest, Hannah first argued with her husband, then came to Parrington to make sure her daughter didn’t suffer in jail.
Jenny sighed in relief after the call with her uncle. She didn’t have much to worry about, now that her uncle was onboard. She then went to the building entrance, ready to go to the hospital for her scheduled surgeries in the afternoon.
Max stopped her near the entrance. “Jenny? You’re still in the mood to work after what happened with Alec?” “You look happy with that news,” Jenny replied. She just realized that everyone seemed to know about her breakup.
“Who had leaked the news?” she wondered.
It wasn’t her, so it must be Alec.
To Be Yours Again by Taylor Chapter 394-Finally!
Was he eager to let everyone know they had broken up? To announce him leaving her?
Jenny’s heart ached.
“Good. He’s an asshole.” Max was glad to hear the news. Alec’s unhappiness delighted him to no end. Though their relationship had softened recently, he and Alec would never be friends.
Jenny moved past Max and readied to leave. “You don’t have to tell me about him. I’m not interested.” “Hey-” But Jenny had already driven away.
Max hummed and walked into the building, heading straight for Jade’s office.
“Do you know anything about Alec and Jenny’s breakup?” he asked Jade, hoping to hear something from her.
Jade shook her head. “I don’t know. Jenny won’t say anything either.” “Weird. I wonder what led to their breakup.” Alec wouldn’t have broken up with Jenny, given how serious their relationship had been. So, she must’ve started it.
But why?
Jade shot him a look while he was deep in thought. “And why are you here again?
Pearson Ltd. going bankrupt?” “I’m here to invite you for lunch, of course. We’re business partners now, no?” Max grinned. Ever since he had reclaimed Pearson Ltd. with Alec’s help, things had gotten easier for him. All he was doing now was rejecting the fact Alec had helped him, so he could continue watching him suffer.
Jade rolled her eyes. “You think I have time to have lunch with you when we’re still knee-deep in the copyright issue.” Why hadn’t Max told them Yvonne had opened a competitive shop opposite theirs in the mall he owned?
Meanwhile, Max remained clueless. He wasn’t involved in the nitty-gritty of this business, so there was no way he would’ve known who rented a lot in his mall.
“Do you need my help?” he asked, though he had actually done his own investigations. He just hadn’t told Jade.
The woman shook her head, explaining what had happened. “The police have taken Felicity in. I’m gonna go to the station now. You can enjoy lunch by yourself.” “I’ll see you out.” Max got up. Jade didn’t refuse him. She swiftly got on her ride and went straight to the police station.
Felicity had come clean about the entire thing, leading to the police swiftly issuing an arrest warrant for industrial espionage. Naturally, the legal suit against Yvonne was quickly filed.
Yvonne was unfazed, however. She closed up shop in the mall, its purpose of ruining La Vie Jen Rose Designs now fulfilled. Plus, she was still overjoyed from hearing about Jenny and Alec’s breakup.
Finally!
“How could I not ‘console’ poor Jenny now, hm?” she thought before heading to find Jenny.
To Be Yours Again by Taylor Chapter 395-Apologies, Sir Jenny came out from the surgery room exhausted.
“Here.” Christopher offered a bottle of water to her, but she didn’t take it.
“Why are you here?” she asked, thinking if the man couldn’t leave her alone for once.
“Just worried about you.” He smiled, following her to her office.
Jenny sat back in her chair, resting. “I’m fine. Nothing to worry about.” “Are you sure you’re fine?” Christopher sat down opposite her. “You don’t need to act tough, you know.” Jenny glared at him, too lazy to speak.
“Breakups are bound to hurt. But you know what they say, time and rebounds are the best way to make it through.” Christopher grinned. “So why don’t you reconsider being with me? I’m way better than Alec Faust, let me tell you that.” Jenny wanted to hit him, but she held back. “How many times do I need to tell you? I don’t like Have you never taken me seriously?” you.
She hadn’t been interested in Christopher once, and that wouldn’t change even if Alec weren’t in the picture.
“Things change, don’t they? Just because you weren’t interested before doesn’t mean you won’t ever be.” Christopher shrugged. There was no reason to give up now, especially when Jenny was single.
Jenny sighed and pinched her nose bridge.
“Are you okay? I can send you back if you need to rest,” Christopher quickly offered.
Jenny nodded. She just wanted to lay in bed right now. It didn’t matter who or what got her there.
She closed her eyes to rest the moment she got into Christopher’s car, the man staying silent in response. He wasn’t going to ruin things by rushing her.
They quickly left the hospital, oblivious to the car parked a way away from the entrance, its passengers silently watching things unfold.
Alec’s heart tightened painfully as he watched Jenny leave in Christopher’s car.
The pain was so great he had to bend over, gently soothing himself.
Vincent panicked upon seeing him. “Are you alright, Mr. Faust?” “I’m fine. Let’s go.” Alec forced himself to sit up.
“I will explain everything to Jenny after dealing with Mortimer,” he thought.
“Why don’t we get you a check-up, sir?” Vincent added, still worried. They were right outside the hospital, after all.
Alec gave him a cold glare, to which Vincent quickly started the car. “Apologies, sir. We’ll leave right away.” Jenny had stepped out of Christopher’s car when he turned off his engine, seemingly intending to follow her upstairs. “Go home. I don’t have the energy to deal with you right now.” “Alright.” Christopher nodded. “I ordered takeout for you, by the way. It should be delivered soon. Instant noodles aren’t good for you long term.” Jenny waved a hand without looking back.
Behind her, Christopher smiled, feeling smug. “Progress!” he thought.
Jenny went upstairs to her condo, then noticed Yvonne standing outside. Her annoyance grew sharper in response.
“Hey~ How’s it feel to be dumped by Alec again? Can’t wait to leave Parrington with your tail between your legs, huh?” Yvonne said, walking up to her.
To Be Yours Again by Taylor Chapter 396-I’ll Kill You!
How did Yvonne have time to disregard her own problem? Wasn’t Simone halfway through taking over her in-law’s inheritance?
Jenny stepped past her and took out her keys, ignoring Yvonne.
“You two broke up because you asked about that woman, didn’t you?” Yvonne chittered like a magpie. Jenny said nothing, which she took as assent. “How silly of you, Jenny. Don’t you know Alec will only get upset by those questions? No wonder he wanted to break up with you.” She truly felt like she had finally won.
Irritated, Jenny glared at her. “Why don’t you spend the time tittering about whether we broke up worrying about what to do once Simone becomes heir to the Blooms instead.” Yvonne paled almost instantly. “Even if she does, Sam still has shares in the company, so I don’t have to worry about being in poverty,” she gritted out.
Jenny smiled. “I see. So not being poor is your goal. Then why pursue the inheritance? Haven’t you been spoiled your entire life as Ms. Dickman?” If Yvonne hadn’t schemed against Alec and herself and had things come to this, she would still have been the proud daughter of the Dickman family.
Those words stabbed into Yvonne’s heart like needles. She glared at Jenny, aching to rip her face. to shreds. “Yes, it’s all my fault.” “If it weren’t for you, I would’ve married Alec, and my life wouldn’t have come to this,” Yvonne thought furiously.
“See? So, it’s best you just give up now and go back to your own spoiled life, or I can’t guarantee what’ll happen to you.” “Are you threatening me?” Yvonne growled.
Jenny shrugged. “Yeah. So? I do have control over what happens to you, you know? I am working with Simone right now.” “Jenny Walter!” Yvonne yelled and was about to lunge at her when Jenny waved a fist in the air, making her stop. She couldn’t defeat Jenny when it came to combat, that she knew.
“Leave. You disgust and annoy me,” Jenny said, then went into her apartment, closing the door shut.
Outside, Yvonne cried to herself, “You fucking bitch! I’m gonna kill you! I swear to God!” Jenny was truly unfazed. Yvonne was just another road bump in her life-not worth any lingering thought. She showered and finally got into bed, relaxing under the sheets.
Her thoughts suddenly wandered to Alec.
“Wonder what he’s up to now…” Jenny immediately jolted up. She patted her cheek, reminding herself, “We’re not together anymore, Jenny. Wake up.” She forced herself to not think of Alec, trying to go to sleep, but it was easier said than done.
Just then, her phone rang. It was an international call.
With a sudden realization, Jenny picked it up. “Is that you, Gilbert?”
To Be Yours Again by Taylor Chapter 397-What Could He Want from Me?
“It’s me.” The reply came through. Jenny could hear the warmth in Gilbert’s voice, soothing her gentle heart.
“How’ve you been? When are you coming home?” she asked kindly, not asking other things like why he hadn’t called her for some time or whether he had finally let her go.
“I’ve been well. The branch here’s had a good start, so it’ll be some time before I go back,” he said. Jenny smiled and was about to speak when Gilbert asked, “I heard you broke up with Alec?” He didn’t know when they got together; all he heard was they had broken up.
Jenny’s smile fell just the slightest at his question. “Oh, you heard about that too?” “The news had even made it internationally, huh?” Jenny thought.
Unbeknownst to her, Gilbert had actually been catching up with her life updates from overseas. He had instructed Zack as well as some bodyguards to watch after her from the sidelines, none of this made known to Jenny herself.
“It’s really big news, Jenny. I couldn’t have not heard,” Gilbert teased.
Jenny didn’t know what to tell her brother. She couldn’t exactly reveal that it had to do with Quinn Blue, or Gilbert would only despise Alec further. She didn’t know why she still cared about this, though.
With a dry laugh, Jenny explained, “We weren’t compatible, is all.” “Really? Not because he wasn’t good to you?” Gilbert asked, hesitant to believe her.
Jenny’s heart dropped, though Gilbert couldn’t see or feel this. “Of course not.
He’d never be able to push me around, you know that.” Gilbert nodded to himself. Jenny wasn’t a doormat. With a sigh, he said, “I told you, you two weren’t right for each other back then. Now you see how things have turned out?” “I know.” If only she had listened to her big brother. Still, regret was useless. She couldn’t have known she was being used as a substitute back then.
“Good. The best thing to do is to stay away from him right now. I’ll come back as soon as I can.” Gilbert reassured her as if worried Jenny would get bullied again.
Jenny nodded. She had broken up with Alec, so distance was natural.
Gilbert said a few other things before finally bidding farewell, but then Jenny said, “Gilbert, did Grandpa ever tell you anything before he passed?” “Huh? What do you mean?” Jenny took a deep breath and then explained her situation with Christopher. “I know he has some ulterior motives; I just don’t know what. But I’m just a country girl from Orchid Village. I really don’t see what he could want from me.” She actually wanted to mention the fact that even Alec’s grandfather seemed to harbor some intent toward her, but that was something only in the periphery of doubt, not ascertained, so she stayed silent on it.
On the other side of the phone, however, and unbeknownst to Jenny, Gilbert’s face had turned a frighteningly dark shade of grey.
To Be Yours Again by Taylor Chapter 398-Busybody “Gilbert?” Jenny asked after he had stayed silent for too long. “Does he know something?” she wondered.
“Maybe things aren’t as complicated as they seem. He could just genuinely like you,” Gilbert said after coming to his senses.
“But…” “Seriously, you don’t need to worry about this right now, Jenny. You need to get your rest, alright?” Gilbert said kindly, his warm tone a soothing balm to her anxiety.
Jenny took a deep breath. “Alright.” “Now get to bed. It should be well past midnight there now. Goodnight, Jenny.” With that, Gilbert hung up the call.
Jenny lay on her bed, her mind now clouded with thought. Sleep had long escaped her grasp.
The next day, after Vincent had brought Alec’s breakfast, he said, “Mr. Faust, you can’t sleep in the lounge forever.” His boss had been a workaholic since he knew the man, but even then, he had retired to Perry Residence. Yet now… Alec looked at his breakfast, saying nothing. He didn’t want to sleep there either, but it was his only choice. He didn’t want to go to his family home, so he only had the office left.
“Sir, a reminder that the director wants to have a meeting today.” Mortimer’s decision to hold a meeting couldn’t mean anything good.
Alec hummed in assent and shrugged, making Vincent worry. What if Mortimer decided to attack Alec during the meeting?
“Anything else?” Alec asked after seeing his assistant still standing in his office.
“No, sir.” “How is…” Alec was about to ask about Jenny but decided to stop. “Mm. You can leave.” Vincent went to the door, but before he left, he reported, “All is well with Miss Walter. Nothing out of the ordinary’s been happening.” Alec blinked in surprise, then shot him a glare. “Busybody.” Vincent smiled and left. He knew very well that Alec cared deeply about Jenny even though he acted like he didn’t. He wouldn’t have broken up with her if it weren’t for Mortimer’s threats.
Alec eyed his breakfast, appetite having dissipated long ago.
“All is well?” he thought. How he wished Jenny would at least be sad. That way he would know she still felt something for him, but that was left in the air now.
Alec huffed at his own despair. He didn’t know what to do anymore. It all felt meaningless. In fact, everything felt meaningless.
Meanwhile, Jenny had just finished another surgery. She had discovered that all her worries disappeared the moment she focused on her work.
“You look…well, Jenny,” Morgan said. She had heard of the breakup, but strangely Jenny didn’t look like she needed cheering up.
Obviously, Jenny knew what she was thinking. “Nothing stays the same for long in this world, Morgan. You just keep on doing what’s true to yourself and live on.”
To Be Yours Again by Taylor Chapter 399-Deal!
Morgan nodded, finding some truth in Jenny’s words. “My dad wants me to let you know that things have settled down in the company, Jenny. We’ll be sure to turn out profits for you with your investment.” Jenny laughed. “Alright. I trust you guys,” “Why don’t we have lunch toge-” “Done with work, Jenny? Let’s have lunch,” Christopher cut in, appearing from thin air like those weird gnomes in peoples’ gardens.
Morgan paused and glanced at him. It wasn’t the first time she had seen this man. Her heartbeat increased in pace as she gazed at his face. She quickly shook her head, tossing that idea to the back of her mind. Christopher liked Jenny. She’d never dreamed of competing with her.
Jenny didn’t know what was going on in Morgan’s mind, but her smile faded upon hearing Christopher’s suggestion. “No need. I’m busy?” “Busy? With what?” Christopher knew she was rejecting him on purpose. He wasn’t upset, though. In fact, he was determined to stick around.
It made Jenny’s hackles rise. “I’ve told you over and over again, Mr. Spade: I am not interested in you. Capisce?” What could she do to finally get the man to give up on her?
“I know, I know.” Even with those words, Jenny knew Christopher wasn’t giving up still. Just as she was about to explode, Christopher held Morgan’s arm. “Why don’t the three of us have lunch, then? That should be okay with you, right?” Christopher knew Jenny didn’t want to be mistaken for dating him, so he could only resolve this by having a third wheel join them.
Morgan was about to refuse when he whispered, “Help a guy out, eh? Your dad’s been trying to get in touch with my family. You scratch my back, and I’ll scratch yours.” Jamie Golding was an ambitious man. He had immediately set his sights on Bardoff after their family recovered from its financial crisis, with the Spades being their target. Christopher could always ask his grandfather to help.
Morgan froze, then stared in disbelief at him, surprised he knew who she was.
Christopher said nothing, having secretly investigated everyone connected to Jenny.
“Sorry, but Jenny and my family are two separate entities. They’re not to be mixed,” Morgan answered. Clearly, she wasn’t going to involve personal gain with her friend.
Christopher stared in shock, first at Morgan, then at Jenny. “Birds of a feather really do flock together,” he thought. He never expected to be rejected by so many women all at once.
Jenny had overheard their conversation. “We can have lunch together, the three of us, family has to agree to work with Morgan’s.” but your “You don’t need to-” “Morgan, I have shares in your company. This will benefit me, too.” She would profit from dividends if the Goldings had a successful partnership with the Spades. All that was needed was a chance to work together.
“Deal!” Christopher agreed without hesitation. He had done his investigation; the Goldings were clean and wouldn’t harm his family’s reputation.
To Be Yours Again by Taylor Chapter 400-If I Go to Bardoff City with You… Morgan didn’t know what to say. She simply followed them into the car, not coming to her senses until they reached the café.
When they were ordering, Christopher went to make a call, telling his grandfather about working with the Goldings.
“Jenny, you really don’t have to bother about us if you don’t like him. I’m sure my dad can find better clients to work with, not just with the Spades,” Morgan said, feeling bad about the situation.
“I know, but…” Jenny eyed Christopher. “He’s not going to give up even if we don’t have lunch. So, I might as well squeeze some benefit from this.” She had come to realize that Christopher wasn’t going to let her go so easily after being followed around by him like a sick puppy. Given his tenacity, no wonder he became heir to his family.
Just then, the man came back to the table. “Finished with your orders already?
Remember, it’s my treat, so just order what you like.” He had been feeling great ever since Jenny broke up with Alec, feeling like his hard work all this while hadn’t gone to waste, though he really didn’t have anything to do with the breakup… “Yeah, we finished ordering…” Morgan replied weakly. She couldn’t afford to offend her family’s biggest client now.
Christopher opened the menu, glancing at Jenny. “How do you feel today, Jenny?” “Pretty okay,’ she replied, quietly thinking, “Would’ve been better if you hadn’t interrupted my day.” “Good, good. I was worried you’d be feeling down again,” he said with a smile. “Best to find a better man after a breakup, I always say.
Find someone more good-looking and more powerful to piss Alec Faust off.” Jenny didn’t respond, but Christopher didn’t give up either. “Take me, for example. I’m just as attractive as Alec, and my family’s more powerful than his.
What do you think?
Jenny shook her head even though those aspects were true. “You think relationships are as easy as ticking off boxes on lists of things you like?” “All relationships need work, but you gotta give me a chance first, Jenny. How else can we try and make it work?” Christopher responded.
Jenny sighed. “Why do you want to be with me so badly? What about me is worth all your time and effort?” She just wanted the man to be truthful to her. They couldn’t continue like this forever.
Seeing that she was about to implode, Christopher shook his head. “Food’s here. Let’s eat.” Jenny glared at him. “Asshole.” Christopher really didn’t know what to say. It wasn’t like his grandfather had told him. In fact, the old man had said he’d only reveal whatever it was to Christopher after he successfully made Jenny his girlfriend.
At this rate, Christopher would never ever know the truth.
Morgan quietly ate her meal, not understanding whatever was going on between the two. All she knew was that she shouldn’t know too much and finish her food before it got cold.
After some time, Jenny suddenly asked, “If I go to Bardoff City with you, will your grandfather tell me why?”
