Ch. 141..145: Trapped in a Secret Marriage with a Dangerous Billionaire Chapter 141-145

Chapter 141: A Matchmaker

"You must really think of me as a troublemaker, But I can’t help if you think so." Oliver chuckled softly, her eyes glistening with little tears. "Actually, I have a piece of advice I think you might need."

Aurora shook her head, refusing to listen to her. "Just go back to your office and keep your advice to yourself."

"No. It’s important that you hear me out," Olivia smiled. Leaning out of her seat, she dropped her elbows on the table. "I know you plan to use Mr. Scott to promote your new wine just like you did with your champagne, but here is a piece of advice for you. Don’t even think about it."

Aurora scoffed. "Who are you to tell me what to do?" she asked, eyeing her sceptically.

"As someone who has now become Mrs. Scott’s friend," Olivia stated proudly and went on to explain, "I’m quite sure you don’t know what Xander Scott’s residence looks like, but a few days ago, his wife personally invited me. She sent a car to pick me up and send me home. We are literally friends now, so just be careful of what you do with her husband behind her back. Who knows, you might be taught a lesson."

"And I will be waiting to be taught a lesson," Aurora said with a straight face as she pointed towards the door. "Make use of it right now before I call the security on you."

Olivia helped herself out of the seat as her lips curled up in a smug smile. "Don’t say I didn’t warn you, Sister."

After Olivia left, Aurora relaxed in her seat and heaved a sigh. With her gaze on the door, she mumbled, "I wonder how you would react when you find out that I am actually Mrs. Scott, your new friend."

Aurora had no doubts that Olivia would faint once she found out, but she would only feel better if she could see that moment with her eyes or get on record.

A few minutes later, Lilian knocked on Aurora’s door and worked in.

"We are happy to have you back, Director Swift," Lilian offered a polite nod with a small smile on her lips.

"Thank you, Lilian. Please have a seat," Aurora gestured towards the chair in front of her desk and as soon as Lilian settled down, she asked, her brows lifting with curiosity, "What happened while I was away?"

---

At the same time, as Xander just finished a meeting and stepped out of the conference room, Liam quickly came to his side with his phone in hand.

"Sir, Mr. Moore is on the line," he announced politely and immediately, he handed the phone to Xander who took over it and placed it on his ear.

"Hello, Asher," Xander’s deep voice greeted, his shoes clicking hard against the tiles as his steps quickened.

"I looked into Stella Swift as you requested, and this is what I found out about her relationship with the Major... She really did save his son but from the real situation, she was looking for the opportunity to get close to him..."

As Asher filled Xander in, the latter hummed in a few times where it was required of him to make a sound just to show he was still paying attention to the conversation. And within a minute, he got into the elevator and shoved his other hand into his pants pocket.

"One thing about Stella is that she is both desperate and patient for an opportunity. She really deserves an award," Xander said as Liam got in next to him and pressed their floor button as the elevator doors shut.

"Lex, as I said before, the Major definitely knows her intentions but what he stands to gain from this is something we still have to find out," Asher said from the other end. "I won’t be surprised if he knows your wife is actually his biological daughter."

"He knows," Xander revealed just as the elevator doors opened. "And it’s very obvious after sitting to think about the entire situation."

Asher let a deep breath into the phone and took a moment before asking, "Are you going to let your wife know about this?"

"Definitely not," Xander replied almost immediately, his brows slightly furrowed. "I don’t want to break her heart. I will let her find out by herself."

Aurora would definitely not take it lying down if she found out that her biological father knew who she was all along and acted otherwise. She would definitely confront him and no matter what his reasons were, it wouldn’t end on a good note.

"Whatever you want," Asher breathed. "Just in case, I put a tail on Stella. We should be able to keep an eye on her for a while."

"Thank you." Xander was appreciative and supportive of the move. And just as he turned into a corner, he quickly added, "I will arrange the dinner you requested and give you a call."

---

Aurora and Xander had dinner together after returning home from work, and as they chatted about their day, Xander made a suggestion.

"What do you think about hosting our friends, Abigail and Asher this weekend? I think it would be a good opportunity to relax and catch up with them over the weekend."

"That doesn’t sound like a bad idea, but I thought you didn’t like having people over at your place," Aurora said, grabbing a glass of water from the table with her eyes on him.

Xander shrugged with a smile. "There could be an exception sometimes."

"You are not thinking of bringing those two together, right?" Aurora inquired with a scrutinizing gaze on him as if trying to depict if he would be telling a lie or the truth.

Xander’s lips twitched as he recalled Asher refraining him from asking questions about his intentions. In the end, he thought it safe to be completely oblivious to the entire matter in order not to get into trouble with his wife.

"Sweetheart, I’m not a matchmaker," Xander stated with finality.

Chapter 142: You Ruined Me

"Good," Aurora withdrew her gaze. "Don’t attempt to do anything that will stress me."

Xander nodded in understanding. "Of course, I will only listen to my wife."

Though he said that, Aurora simply didn’t trust him and she didn’t care that he knew about it.

TUESDAY.

The next day after work, Olivia drove to the Swift Residence after receiving her mother’s persistent calls.

The housekeeper received her coat at the door before she trotted in with a tinge of annoyance in her brows.

"Why do you keep calling like I don’t have any job to attend to?" Olivia inquired as soon as she sat on the sofa and faced her mother.

"My daughter refused to show up in front of me since her father’s funeral, what was I supposed to do?" Stella asked and without waiting for a response, she added, shifting her gaze to Olivia’s baby bump, "How is my grandson doing?"

Olivia scoffed and shifted into her seat properly. Just then, a house-help came over to serve her a glass of water and some fresh fruits.

"Your grandson is healthy and hearty, as always. Now that I am here, can you get on with your questions? You probably didn’t call me back home to stare at my face.

Stella was displeased by her attitude even though she knew she was right, so she asked, "This is your father’s house, why are you in a hurry to leave?"

"Because I would rather be somewhere else right now taking a nap. And you don’t expect to come all the way here from the company for it," Olivia said as a matter of fact while meeting her mother’s gaze head-on.

In the end, Stella couldn’t win her in the argument and gave up. "You sure do bear grudges."

"I learnt well from someone," Olivia retorted, hinting at something.

Stella paid her anger no mind anymore. If it wasn’t for the fact that Olivia was her daughter, she wouldn’t be so patient with her or even tolerate her temper.

"I met the Major’s family," Stella started as a smile returned to her lips. "They are very hospitable. Although their house is simple and too bland for my taste, it isn’t bad as their lifestyle is still lavish... Although I didn’t meet the Major’s son, there will be plenty of opportunities for that... The Major asked after you, and I told him you will come with me next time."

Olivia listened to her mother talking about the new ground she was standing on with Major Walker, including most of the benefits she would be reaping now and became slightly interested.

"I think we are almost there. Being invited to his home is one of the last aims I have on my list," Stella concluded.

"I’m glad you were able to secure this connection with Major Walker finally. Even though Dad is gone, our foothold in Wing City will not be shaken," Olivia said satisfactorily at the thought of her late father.

Her father used to be a covering for them, but after he left, she was afraid their position in society would be affected. Olivia loved the limelight and the attention that comes with it so much that she isn’t willing to part with it.

"Exactly," Stella agreed with her. Then thinking of something, she quickly said with a serious expression on her face, "Don’t tell anyone about Aurora’s biological father’s identity. This is a secret that must remain between us."

As Olivia heard that reminder, her heartbeat increased by a few paces out of guilt. She had already informed Mrs. Scott about it, so her mother was a tad bit late.

Regardless, Olivia pretended to value the reminder. "Of course," she said, brows furrowing slightly. "We can’t afford this truth to get into the wrong ears."

"Good," Stella finally relaxed. "Tell me about Mrs. Scott. How well did she treat you?" Smiling, she added, "I think it’s safe to say that you have conquered her."

Olivia was happy to talk about her trip the other day and how well Mrs. Scott treated her. She couldn’t shut up about it but there was something she didn’t talk about, the main conversation she had with Mrs. Scott.

Olivia knew her mother was interested in that and deliberately bypassed it.

"I didn’t think she would get me some expensive stuff from her trip. Mrs. Scott doesn’t seem to have many friends. She must be lonely being in that big house by herself. It’s no wonder she travels a lot."

Hearing that, Stella scoffed. "The only thing she has is money and Mr. Xander Scott. She has no real power or social standing in Wing City so do not do much to please her. Just get her to face your sister."

Almost immediately, Olivia came to Mrs. Scott’s defence. "Mum, don’t talk about her that way. You don’t know what she’s like because you haven’t been close to her in private. Mrs. Scott is not as simple as she looks."

"You are already defending her after a few gifts and one invitation," Stella said, giving her an eye. "You just said that Mrs. Scott isn’t simple, don’t lose your guard."

"I know what I’m doing, Mum," Olivia spat with a tinge of annoyance in her tone. She hated the fact that her mother was looking down on her thinking that she couldn’t do anything without her help.

And this is the reason she will never tell her about her conversation with Mrs. Scott, and her next plans.

"No, you don’t," Stella insisted. "You have to listen to me before you ruin us both."

"Don’t you think it’s already too late for that?" Olivia asked, her gaze darkening in the process. Stella frowned, narrowing her eyes at her. "What do you mean by that?"

"Are you still asking?" Anger coursed through Olivia’s veins as she watched her mother ask one question after the other. "You ruined me by insisting I married Owen. Now, look at the kind of life I’m living."

Stella withdrew her gaze and leaned back into the couch. "Olivia, everybody has to bear the consequences of their actions. Owen was your choice and I supported it. And since then, I have never wavered. You should do the same."

"I can’t believe you are saying this to me!" Olivia stood up from her seat angrily and grabbed her bag.

Chapter 143: A Natural Aphrodisiac

"You are all about keeping up appearances. Do you even care to know how much I’m suffering right now?" Olivia asked, her tone dripping with disbelief.

Even though she didn’t expect her mother to fully support her decision to get a divorce she at least wanted some kind of comfort from her but instead, she got something worse.

What kind of mother tells her daughter to stay in a relationship she is not happy in for the sake of appearances?

"Do you think I’m oblivious to it?" Stella retorted. "I know everything, it just..."

"No, you don’t know anything mother!" Olivia declared angrily, her eyes shimmering with tears. "I don’t care about what you say, I’m going to divorce Owen. And by the way, do you even know what he said to me?"

Stella looked her in the eyes and said, "What new statement did he make that no other person has heard before?"

Stella clearly didn’t care about Owen disregarding her daughter just as long as he didn’t raise his hand on her.

On the other hand, Olivia was more heartbroken than earlier hearing that statement. "Mum, Owen said my child doesn’t belong to him. Does that make any sense to you? How do you want me to remain married to him with this kind of crazy accusations? Do you even know what that means?"

"Olivia, you are just making a mountain out of a molehill," Stella said without a care. "As long as you are innocent, whatever Owen says doesn’t matter. Just remain married to him until you give birth to your son and then, you can leave to teach Owen and his family a lesson."

"I’m not going to listen to you. I’m going to ask Owen for a divorce," Olivia insisted, having made up her mind, but Stella stood her ground.

"Olivia, you don’t know what I have endured to come this far and last this long. You will listen to me on this one."

Olivia scoffed, turning her back to her, she trotted away. "I hope you won’t ask me to come back because you missed me again," she said on her way out.

Stella sighed softly and could only watch her leave.

"I don’t know why young women these days are so impatient," she muttered under her breath, discouraged by Olivia’s stubborn attitude.

Xander’s Private Residence.

Xander returned from work a little earlier than usual and was surprised to hear Aurora’s voice coming from the kitchen. He hadn’t expected that she would be home by that time.

"Is that my wife?" Xander asked the butler as they walked into the living room.

"Yes, Sir. Mrs. Scott is in the kitchen," the butler replied with a small nod.

Xander’s brows furrowed slightly but just as he was about to head into the kitchen to find his wife, she stepped in with Nene following behind her. Instantly, the smile on Aurora’s lips grew.

"Darling, you are back," she said, holding a glass of smoothie in her hand as she came to his side to welcome him properly.

Xander kissed her lips softly and stepped back, his brows dancing interestingly. "Is that pineapple and banana I taste?"

"Yes," Aurora smirked as she glanced at the glass in her hand before moving her gaze back to his face as Nene and the butler chose this moment to take their leave. "I added a few other stuff, but we are going to play a game."

"Now my interest is piqued," Xander chuckled as he took her hand and led to their bedroom upstairs. "I think I tasted something milky, but the taste is weird. What is it?"

"Coconut and Tiger nut milk," Aurora answered with a smile as they walked into their bedroom and shut the door. "I added dates for sweetness."

Xander draped his suit jacket on the armrest of the sofa in the room and turned to her. He naturally grabbed the glass from her hand. "Let me drink a little more," he said as he brought the glass cup to his lips.

When he finished, he handed it back to her and licked her lips. "I haven’t tried this combination of fruits before. What’s this smoothie for?"

As soon as Aurora heard that question, her lips twitched. She gave him a meaningful glance as she drank from her glass. "You don’t need to know."

Xander’s gaze narrowed as he put his hands on his waist. "Sweetheart, should I be worried?"

"Why should you be worried when I’m drinking the smoothie just fine?" Aurora asked as she went to sit at the foot of the bed. She drank more from the glass and passed it to him. "You seem to like it. You should have some more."

Xander eyed her sceptically before stepping forward to take the glass from her. Since he trusted that his wife wouldn’t poison him, he drank the smoothie and finished it while at it.

"I hope you don’t mind," he said, lifting the empty glass to her as he stuck out his tongue to lick the streaks of the thick liquid from his lower lips.

"It’s fine, we can make more when we need it," Aurora said as she watched him with a meaningful smile on her lips.

Xander became uncomfortable with her gaze but for a brief moment, he looked away and set the glass down at the sitting area before returning to her side. He stood in front of her and cast his scrutinizing gaze on her.

"Now, can you tell me what that smoothie you fed me is for because your reaction is saying a lot, and I’m starting to get worried."

Aurora watched his shadow looming over her and bit back a chuckle and said with a serious. "It’s a natural aphrodisiac drink."

"What?" Xander raised a questioning brow. He thought he heard wrong the first time until she repeated her statement.

"It’s a natural aphrodisiac drink to boost your libido. You won’t get tired when we are doing it, and you will keep wanting more."

Xander narrowed his eyes as he closed in on her. "Do I look like I need any enhancer to satisfy you?"

Chapter 144: Aurora on A Mission

Aurora couldn’t tell if Xander was truly mad at her or not, but one thing was sure, she wasn’t trying to bruise his ego.

"I think I made a mistake trying to pass the message," she quickly said. "You definitely don’t need any enhancer to satisfy me as you’ve been doing a good job since we got married."

"Then, what’s the use for this enhancer?" Xander narrowed his eyes as he pointed at the glass cup at the table without shifting his gaze.

Aurora’s gaze followed his finger to the spot he pointed at before moving back to his face. "I was just trying an experiment." Just then, a thought came to her mind and immediately she added, "Besides, I made the smoothie for myself, you are the one who grabbed the glass from my hand to drink from it."

Xander straightened his back. Since she put it this way, he had no reason to blame her anymore. It’s not like she made the smoothie for him in the first place.

"Sweetheart, can you tell me what sort of experiment you are trying to carry out?" He inquired in a relaxed tone as he reached for his necktie to unfasten it, suddenly feeling suffocated.

Aurora got off the bed with a small smile on her lips. "Just take it that I’m tasting the waters." As soon as she said that, she stepped forward and circled her arms around his neck, forcing him to meet her gaze.

Xander naturally wrapped his arms around her waist and pulled her in. "I need to shower first," he said, his gaze softening.

"I know," she mumbled to his hearing as her gaze lingered on his face for a moment before her hands moved to the collar of his striped shirt to start undoing the buttons. "I will just help you out of your clothes," she added, biting her lower lips provocatively as her soft gaze returned to his face.

A deep sigh escaped Xander’s lips as her fingers worked on his shirt all the way down to the hem. When she was done unbuttoning it, she helped him out of it and dumped it on the edge of the bed before placing a palm on his bare chest.

Immediately, the warmth from his chest seeped into her palms. The smile on her lips reached her eyes as she slowly caressed his chest with both palms, enjoying the firmness of his sexy upper body and Xander’s hold around her chest tightened.

"You look like you are on a mission," Xander mumbled as he leaned in towards her ear. His warm breath sprayed on her neck, giving her a tickling sensation. Instantly, a hearty chuckle escaped her lips.

"Of course, I am," Aurora admitted amidst a chuckle as she leaned backward slightly, giving him access to her neck. And without wasting a second, Xander leaned in to brush his lips against the length of her neck, leaving light-fluttering kisses.

"Would I do anything to you without a reason?" she added as her eyes lit up like the stars in the night sky.

Xander lifted his head for a moment to stare at her face. "I didn’t know when you became so spoilt, can you educate me?" he beckoned on her. "You don’t usually make the move. Where did you learn to do this?"

Aurora tilted her head to the side, pretending to think about it before replying, "I learned from you."

"That can’t be true." As soon as he said that, he buried his face in her neck, kissing, biting, and kicking every spot.

Aurora giggled and pushed herself against him with her arms pressed firmly on his biceps.

Xander trailed gentle kisses from her neckline and down to her chest before burying his face there. He sniffed her soft vanilla and lavender fragrance and inhaled sharply before lifting his gaze to meet hers.

"I have to shower, then we can have dinner together," he said, pressing soft kisses on her lips.

"Huh?" Aurora’s eyes flashed with disappointment. She refused to let him go as she let her gaze pass a silent message.

Knowing the thoughts in her head, Xander kissed her softly and pulled her lower lip before releasing it. Looking her in the eye, he explained, "We will have time for other things later. We both need the energy if we plan to stay up all night."

"Who’s staying up all night with you?" Aurora asked as she escaped from his arms. "I only plan to have fun."

"And we can have fun staying up all night," Xander suggested as a smirk appeared on his lips. "I will help you taste the waters."

Aurora laughed at his teasing and went back to sit on the bed. "I can’t believe a dangerous secret service agent is talking about tasting the waters with me. Your sense of humor is getting better. All thanks to me."

"Yes, all thanks to you." Xander smiled. "Sweetheart, I’m going to take a quick shower now. I don’t mind if you join me, but just note that it’s going to end with slamming your back against the wall and taking you in that position."

Aurora refused him. She could remember how he fucked her brains out the last time. Though he messed her up, she still enjoyed every aspect of it.

"Go take a shower and I will make sure there is more smoothie left," she said and got up from the bed. Smiling at him, she slipped out of the room as fast as her legs could carry her.

She had wanted to kiss him on the cheek before leaving, but afraid that he might change his mind and grab her arm to drag her into the bathroom, she changed her mind.

---

Xander took a quick shower and changed into something casual before joining Aurora at the dining table.

"How many children does the Major have?" Aurora asked as soon as Xander settled at the head table.

A glint of surprise flashed across Xander’s eyes. He hadn’t expected a serious conversation at this moment. Regardless, his countenance changed in tune with the mood.

Chapter 145: Stella was Deceived

"Tell me everything you know about Major Walker and his family," Aurora requested, pinning her gaze on him.

Xander nodded as his brain quickly calculated the amount of information he had to share.

"Actually, the Major has two sons with his wife," Xander revealed. "One is in the military and partakes in the secret missions, but I have never met him. The second one hasn’t been seen in a long time. I doubt he’s still in Wing City."

As soon as Aurora got that information, her gaze narrowed. "So, all the Major’s children are living in private?" If she included herself even though she hated to see herself as such, her deductions weren’t far from the truth.

Even Xander, a secret service agent, doesn’t know what the Major’s first son, who is in the same agency as him, looks like. That speaks volumes.

"You can say that," Xander admitted, dropping more surprising details. "The Major doesn’t live with his wife and has no private residence in Wing City currently."

"You have been to his place?" Aurora probed, raising a questioning brow.

Xander nodded and set to explain. "Yes. Asher and I. Just a few times. He lives in the military base."

"What of his wife? Why are they not living together? Are they divorced?" Aurora asked with curiosity laced in her tone. She has been asking a lot of questions since Xander appeared and has forgotten about the food spread across the table in front of her.

Getting the important private information she couldn’t see on the internet about the Major was more important than filling her belly.

On the other hand, Xander wasn’t for a second bothered by her questions. Although this was a piece of private information she was asking about which he had happened to come across thanks to his secret job, he couldn’t hold back telling her the truth. This was her biological father in question.

"They are not divorced. His wife works with a United Nations agency; WHO. She travels a lot, so they live separately," Xander clarified.

Aurora slowly nodded at that revelation. Apart from Xander, she has seen first-hand, another very private person in Wing City. All the information she just got about him is not on the internet.

The internet only focused on Major Walker’s life and achievements in the Military while subtly mentioning that he was married to a woman from the upper class whose family has a great footing in Wing City and beyond.

Meanwhile, it has turned out that Stella Swift was deceived according to the information Xander passed down to Aurora.

The private residence she thought belonged to Major Walker and his wife that she met were all fake.

Just like Asher had speculated from the beginning, the Major wasn’t the one being used rather, it was Stella. But as for the reason behind it, they would have to either wait for the truth to come out, or find it out by themselves.

---

Later at night, Aurora discovered that she hadn’t informed Abigail about the weekend get-together and jumped off Xander.

"Where are you going?" Xander asked as he quickly sat up on the bed and watched Aurora reach for her phone on the nightstand.

"I’m coming... I-I um... I forgot to tell Abby about the invitation this weekend," Aurora replied distractedly as her fingers swiped across her phone screen.

"Sweetheart, you can do that in the morning. Come back to me," Xander said as he tried to convince her. He was already unhappy that she had to leave him after arousing him and now, he missed the feeling of her sitting on his thighs.

Aurora, unaware of the frustrating state she had left him in, refused to go back to him. "It will only take a minute," she said with her eyes glued to her phone."

Xander let out an exasperated sigh and laid back on the bed.

On the other hand, Aurora’s eyes shone brightly as she opened Abigail’s DM and saw a photo of her Fruit Punch Champagne from a digital screen in the heart of Wing City.

"This must be what success feels like," she mumbled to herself as she quickly typed ’Thank You’ and sent it to Abigail before showing off the ad to Xander. "Darling, look what we have here. I wasn’t notified that my product was being advertised in this manner."

"Congratulations." A smile naturally appeared on Xander’s lips. He was proud of his wife’s success. He spread his arms out and beckoned on her to come in for a hug.

With her phone in hand, Aurora moved in to embrace him and ended up receiving lots of smooching. As her giggles rang in their ears, her phone’s ringing tone set off.

"Wait a second. It’s Abigail," Aurora informed as she leaned away from his embrace happily.

A frustrated groan escaped Xander’s lips as he watched Aurora take the call.

"Hello, Abby!" Aurora greeted excitedly as she adjusted her sitting position on the bed, her attention completely grabbed by the phone conversation.

"Aura! You finally came online after two days. How have you been?" Abigail inquired, her tone laced with equal excitement.

The two women exchanged very warm pleasantries and quickly caught up with their lives. Abigail mentioned an actor who asked her out in her DM a few days ago and Aurora’s eyes glowed.

"Who is he? Did you accept his proposal?"

"Aura, calm down," Abigail said with a smile lingering on her lips. "You don’t watch movies, so you wouldn’t know him, but yes, I accepted his proposal."

Hearing that, Aurora giggled. "I’m so happy for you, Abby. You haven’t been interested in relationships for the longest time."

"Don’t be too happy," Abigail said, cutting her joy off. "I don’t love him and he knows that."

"So, why did you accept him?" Aurora inquired as the smile on her face quickly disappeared. Her brows furrowed in confusion.

Having known Abigail for years, deceiving men wasn’t a part of her character trait, so she was genuinely curious to know what her best friend was up to.

"It’s for an experiment," Abigail revealed and almost immediately the line went silent.
