Chapter 536: Ethan Was Reborn
“Ha-ha, right, William is my nephew, and I’m afraid we must leave now,” Kylie said and walked through those reporters with William.
“Why does Uncle Ethan let you come out when you’re about to give birth to babies?” William complained in a quiet voice.
At that moment, he saw a tall, strong man walking towards them. He put on a serious face at once. “Hi, Uncle Ethan!”
Kylie was amused, seeing William’s reaction.
“Why do you come so early?” Kylie drew her hand out of William’s arms bend and placed it around Ethan’s arm.
“I miss you.” Ethan walked to a private room with Kylie.
Nate rubbed his jaw, shaking his head. “Ethan is reborn.”
“I think he looks good.” Fannie was also impressed by Ethan’s outfit today.
“What did you say?” Nate was jealous.
“I said you’re handsome,” Fannie said with a smile.
“Good girl.” Nate straightened up his back with pride.
“But Lord Ethan is more handsome than you!” Fannie said, then ran to chase Kylie up.
“What? Fannie, come back!” Nate shouted at her back.
Dora was already waiting for them in the private room. She was shocked the second Ethan walked inside. “Ethan, what…”
“What do you think?” Kylie gave Ethan a glance. She was very satisfied with her work.
“Oh, I almost failed to recognize him.” Dora was a little embarrassed.
Kylie beamed and sat down with Ethan. “Dora, thanks for your help for tonight.”
“Relax, I’ll handle it well.” Dora took out a cigarette but remembered Kylie was pregnant, so she stood up and said, “I’ll have a cigarette outside.”
Once Dora was out, she ran into Fannie, who just ran over. “Hey, Dora, where are you going?”
Dora showed her the cigarette. Fannie understood it in an instant, then pushed the door of the private room open.
As the host for tonight, William noticed Dora standing backstage after he prepared everything well. “Hey, Dora, are you stunned by my Uncle Ethan?”
Dora blew a mouthful of smoke out and squinted. “No matter how attractive he is, he doesn’t mind.”
William gave her a thumbs-up. “Dora, you deserve someone better.”
“Better than Ethan?” Dora jokes.
William beamed. “Um, I’m afraid it’ll be difficult.”
Dora laughed, then reminded him to check the time.
There was a display in the private room where Kylie stayed, so she could see the whole process of the auction on the stage. When she needed to show up to do the acknowledgment, Fannie would go out with her.
Kylie had a wide circle of friends in the entertainment industry, and many actors who had cooperated with her were present today. Some actors she hadn’t worked with yet also appeared to gain attention.
Kate took out some CD-ROMs from her collections for the charity sale. Sally was abroad, so she asked someone to help her put up a set of stamps which were out of print for the auction.
One after another object was sold out at the auction, and the next one was Kylie’s drawing.
“I’m excited now.” Kylie caught Ethan’s hand. “I’m afraid nobody wants it.”
Fannie stared at the big screen. “Do you draw? How could I have no idea about it?”
“Well, the credit goes to Ethan.” Kylie looked proud.
When William introduced the painter of this drawing was Kylie to the attendees, reporters were all surprised and pointed their cameras at the center of the stage at once.
However, when William uncovered the drawing in person, the hall fell into dead silence all of a sudden.
Kylie got nervous and squeezed Ethan’s hand.
She felt a little regretful now. She shouldn’t have turned Ethan’s idea down. If nobody wanted her drawing, it would be super embarrassing.
Ethan hugged Kylie with one arm and patted her shoulder to comfort her.
The next second, the hall was filled with thunderous applause.
William was amazed and struck dumb for a second. Luckily, he was an experienced host and soon got his mind back. “Wow, this is so amazing. I’m willing to buy it with my host fee for tonight.”
After that, William thought for a while, then said with a smile. “I just remembered that I couldn’t get a cent for tonight.”
People laughed offstage.
“Alright, this painting even I want to buy as well now is available for bids.” William raised the gavel. “The starting price is 10 thousand dollars!”
“Fifty thousand dollars!” Someone added the price without delay.
“A hundred thousand dollars!”
“Two hundred thousand dollars!”
“Half a million!” Elliot suddenly raised his paddle.
Kylie was surprised, then turned to look at Ethan at once. “Didn’t we come to an agreement that you can’t help me?”
Ethan smiled. “Didn’t you feel regretful that we came to that agreement just then?”
Kylie pouted. “You know me so well.”
Ethan still smiled. “Don’t worry. I won’t buy it, but raise its price for you.”
Fannie was amused by the couple’s loving talk.
Within 10 minutes, the price of Kylie’s drawing was raised up to three million dollars.
It was a very high price, and Kylie was satisfied with it. She picked her walkie-talkie and was about to tell William to sell it.
Ethan, instead, stopped her. “Wait a second.”
Elliot bid again. “Five million dollars.”
Kylie was shocked. “No, don’t raise the price too high. What if you really buy it back home?”
Ethan looked calm but seemed unhappy.
William recognized Elliot, and he understood Elliot showed up here on behalf of Ethan.
“Five million dollars once!” William searched around the crowd with his eyes. “Does anyone want to add the bid? This is a debut drawing from Kylie.”
People discussed with each other offstage.
It indeed was a very beautiful drawing, and it was incredible that Kylie, as an actress, could draw like that.
Even though it was a good drawing, it wasn’t worth five million dollars.
Kylie wasn’t a famous artist anyway. If she couldn’t gain much fame in the entertainment industry, as usual, her drawing would be worthless.
Rich men offstage exchanged a glance with one another, but none of them had the intention to bid again.
“Five million dollars twice!” William raised his voice and felt worried about Kylie.
Offstage noises got louder, but there was still no one who lifted a paddle.
“Anyone want to add the bid?” William repeated. When he was sure nobody was willing to do so, he raised the gavel. “Five million dollars…”
“Six million dollars!” A woman sitting at the last row interrupted him all of a sudden.
William was waiting for that, so the gavel stopped in the air without delay. “Great, six million dollars!”
“Six million dollars once!”
“Eight million dollars.” Elliot raised his paddle once more.
“Ten million dollars!” The woman stood up and smiled at Elliot. “Sir, if you don’t mind, please allow me to buy this drawing.”
Chapter 537: The Strange Buyer
Elliot also stood up and made a hand gesture to invite her to go onstage like a gentleman.
William laid the gavel at once. “Sold! Congratulations to this lady!”
Thunderous applause sounded offstage till the lady stepped on the stage. She took a photo with Kylie’s drawing, then went to finish the rest procedures with a staff member.
“Isn’t she your people?” Kylie asked Ethan.
“Be confident about yourself.” Ethan looked at her with a pair of tender eyes.
Kylie kissed his cheek. “You’re the real painter of that drawing. If nobody wants to buy it, you’re the one who’ll be embarrassed.”
Fannie stood up in excitement at this moment. “I need to have a look and arrange some reporters to report this news!”
“I’ll go with you,” Kylie said, standing up. “I should show up since she already bought my drawing.”
Ethan nodded and reminded her to be careful.
Ethan didn’t dial a number until both Kylie and Fannie were out of the private room. “Kylie is going to meet her. Go have a check.”
“Yes, sir.” Elliot hung up the call and walked backstage.
The woman was also talking to someone on the phone at this time. She signed on the document and kept nodding. “Yes, I just bought it.”
Kylie and Fannie walked towards her from another side. Kylie smiled at her. “Miss, thank you so much for buying my drawing.”
The woman didn’t hang up her call and said to Kylie, “My boss loves your drawing very much.”
“Your boss?” Kylie was surprised. “Can I meet him? May I thank him in person?” The woman glanced at Kylie from head to toe. “I’m sorry my boss is very busy, and I’m afraid he can’t meet you.”
From the woman’s behavior, Kylie understood she must be talking with her boss on the phone right now.
Therefore, she pointed at the phone in the woman’s hand. “May I talk to him for a short while?”
“Sorry.” The woman turned Kylie down without hesitation.
Kylie felt a little embarrassed. “Um, well, please help me pass on my thanks to your boss. In fact, my drawing isn’t worth that much money.”
There was a faint smile on the woman’s lips. She said to Kylie, “My boss said that he buys your drawing to support your charity fund, and he also feels honored to own your drawing because you’re a very kind good girl.”

As long as there was a billing record, she could find out the buyer’s identity.
She always had a feeling that Stephen was still alive. It seemed to be true now.
However, the staff member said to her after checking the payment, “The buyer paid with a bank account from Switzerland, and the identity information is kept secret.”
Kylie clenched her fists, trying to calm herself down.
Fannie patted her shoulder. “Don’t worry, we can turn to Ethan for help.”
“No, we can’t!” Kylie looked worried. “We can’t let Ethan find it out.”
“Why?” Fannie was confused.
“I’m not sure whether their buyer is Stephen or not yet. I don’t want to disappoint him,” Kylie said.
“If Stephen is still alive, it must be a lie that he told me Stephen’s body is already rotten. I don’t want to doubt his words. He said that for a reason. If I turn to him for help right now, he could be sad and think I don’t trust him.”
Fannie thought for a while, then thought Kylie’s words made sense.
Kylie and Ethan were back to normal after Stephen’s death. Fannie was also unwilling to see them argue again because of Stephen.
“What do you want to do now?” Fannie asked.
“I think to think carefully about that,” Kylie said with a serious face.
Elliot, who stood far away, watched everything and reported it to Ethan. Although Ethan couldn’t find out who the buyer was through the bank account either, he could easily get the transaction record.
Ten million dollars was a lot of money. If the woman was able to pay it so quickly, she must have prepared the money beforehand.
It wasn’t a coincidence, but a plan.
Ethan had his own connections, and he soon found out the transaction record of that bank account.
Kylie had told him that Stephen owned an island with rich diamond mines.
He had already located the island and got to know the basic information of the owner.

“Ethan, is Stephen really still alive?” Nate couldn’t believe his eyes.

If there were a person who had a record of Stephen’s voice, he or she would transfer a fortune from Stephen’s bank account once Stephen was dead, instead of buying Kylie’s drawing.
Ethan sat upright on the sofa with his legs crossed.
Seeing Ethan remain silent, Nate kept thinking about it. Within three seconds, he hit his lap with a clear sound. “Ethan, do you plan to use that drawing to attract Stephen’s attention on purpose?”
Ethan’s sight fell on Nate’s face. “You’re not so dumb as I think. I tried to locate Stephen’s through telepathy, but I think he concealed his location by using his own inner power too. I am not against him anymore because he’s my little brother, but he had to face all that he’d done,”
“Yeah, you’re right, and besides, he still holds great skills that were useful to our race. After all, he is called the great Ghost Doctor. What’s makes me feel annoyed with your twin brother was his eagerness to take everything you have and loving the woman you loved,”
Ethan didn’t answer because he knew the history of his mother and his aunt Agnes repeated to Stephen and him. He heaved a deep sigh, “I can’t blame him as Kylie was beautiful and sweet,”
Nate rolled his eyes ” I have this strong sense that Stephen is still alive, and didn’t Kylie notice that?” Nate asked in a low voice.
Ethan laid his hand on an armrest of the sofa. He stretched and withdrew his fingers. “I think she hopes to see Stephen again.”
“Why? Isn’t…” Nate wanted to repeat something, but Ethan shook his hand to stop Nate.
At this moment, the door of this room was pushed open, and Kylie, along with Fannie, walked inside.
“How is it?” Nate looked to Fannie. “Did you thank the buyer?”
Chapter 538: Stephen Invisible Presence
Fannie glanced at Kylie. Kylie smiled and said, “I did.”
She walked to Ethan’s side but had no intention to sit down. “The dinner party shall begin soon. I think it’s not necessary for me to be present. Can we go back home now?”
Ethan stood up and hugged her waist with one arm. “Do you feel a little tired?”
“Yeah.” Kylie leaned on his chest.
Ethan turned to look at Nate. “Enjoy yourself. I need to go home with Kylie.”
“Bye, leave the rest of the things to me.” Fannie smiled.
Kylie didn’t walk out through the hall but left with Ethan from a side door.
When she was about to open the car door of the Knight XV, she sensed someone was looking at her back. She turned around at once.
The glass door they just came out of was the induction door.
It stood to reason that the door should be closed early on since she and Ethan already walked to the side of the car. However, when she turned around, the glass door was still closing at a slow pace.
It meant someone did has followed them behind and was about to walk out with them too but hid away when Kylie turned around.
Ethan also gave a glance at their back, then pulled the car door open. He could sense the strong presence of his brother, but he can’t tell Kylie about it. Despite Stephen stood invisible next to them, Ethan pretended he saw nothing.
“Get in now. It’s cold outside,” Ethan said.
Kylie hesitated for a while, then sat on the passenger’s seat. When Ethan walked by the head of the car, she glanced at the glass door again.
The door stood there in silence without anyone around it.
The car left the parking lot, and it was filled with warm wind inside. “What are you thinking?”
Ethan held Kylie’s hand and asked her all of a sudden.
“What?” Kylie was struck dumb for a second. “Oh, nothing.”
“Do you find it’s too unbelievable that the drawing was sold out at the price of 10 million dollars?” Ethan smiled.
Kylie nodded. “Yeah, I don’t think it’s worth that much money.”
“Do you know why?” Ethan asked.
Kylie licked her lips and looked out of the car window.
The sun already disappeared from the sky and left some sunlight, which dyed clouds orange. It wasn’t the time when stars showed up, but there was an unusually bright star shining.
“Because it’s a good drawing made by you.” Kylie withdrew her sight and turned to look at Ethan.
Ethan loosened Kylie’s hand, then moved his hand up to catch her arm.
Kylie understood Ethan was reminding her that her arm was shaking again. Her arm shook once she lied.
After being silent for a while, Kylie asked, “When you helped me finish the drawing, did you do it on purpose?”
Ethan focused ahead. “Yes.”
They didn’t talk to each other anymore along the way home.
Kylie wasn’t annoyed at Ethan’s behavior but felt confused about why Ethan became so insecure in a romantic relationship.
It seemed the conflict between him and Stephen was insolvable.
She also reflected on herself. Ethan wasn’t secure because she didn’t make him feel so when they were together.
If she had stayed a clear distance away from Stephen, Ethan wouldn’t have felt so insecure.
They shared dinner in silence, too, then Kylie walked to the terrace after washing her face and brushing her teeth. She saw Ethan stood there.
The moonlight stretched his shadow on the floor, and it looked helpless.
Ethan slightly raised his head, staring at the dark night sky. The light in his eyes shone brighter than stars.
Ever since they planned to catch Stephen, Ethan began to smoke again, but he wasn’t really smoking. Instead, he just lit a cigarette, then sandwiched it between his fingers.
He loved the smell when tobacco burnt.
Hearing light footsteps coming behind him, Ethan put out the cigarette on the guardrails. Before he could turn around, a pair of soft arms laid on his waist.
Kylie placed her head on his back, taking a long breath in.
“Don’t do that. My body is cold,” Ethan said.
Kylie reached her hands out and covered his big cold palms in her hands. “Let me help you warm them up.”
She just took a shower and smelled good. Ethan soon relaxed in her warm hug.
He turned and walked back to the bedroom with Kylie, then closed the door of the terrace.
He helped Kylie dry her hair as usual.
The wind blew over his hand. He didn’t point the hairdryer at Kylie’s hair until he felt the wind temperature was fine. Her hair was as smooth as always with a faint fragrance.
The hairdryer was a little loud when it worked so that Ethan didn’t hear what Kylie just said to him.
Seeing Ethan focusing on drying her hair in the mirror, Kylie stopped him by holding his hand.
Ethan glanced at her, then turned the hairdryer off. “Is it too hot?”
“No.” Kylie pulled the hairdryer off his hand. “There is something I want to tell you.”
Ethan panicked a little. “I need to use the bathroom.”
Kylie stood up and pulled him back. Her heart ached when he wanted to escape away from her. “I’ll wait for you in bed.”
“Great.” Ethan nodded, then strode into the bathroom.
Kylie covered herself in the quilt and played games on the tablet. However, Ethan was still absent after she had played two rounds.
“Baby, are you good?” Kylie raised her voice and asked.
“Why don’t you sleep before me?” Ethan said.
“I can’t if we don’t talk about it,” Kylie shouted to the door of the bathroom.
A few seconds of silence later, the door was opened. Ethan probably had washed his face, so his hair was a little wet.
He walked to the bed, looking down at Kylie. “What do you want to tell me? I need to read some documents later.”
Kylie uncovered herself and patted her side to tell Ethan to lie down.
Ethan hesitated for a while, then listened to her.
“Ethan.” She hugged him at once, but she felt his body was a little stiff. “Do you hate it?”
“No,” Ethan said and covered Kylie’s bare shoulder with the quilt. “We can talk now.”
Kylie stared straight at his eyes. The longer she remained silent, the faster his heart beat was.
“Ethan, I don’t want to lie to you.” Kylie laid her head on his chest, hearing his strong heartbeat. “I can’t forget Stephen. Probably I can’t forget him forever.”
Hearing that, Ethan stiffened. He was afraid to hear that, but it still finally came. Was she going to tell him how important Stephen was in her heart?
He made up his mind. Once Kylie told him she cared about Stephen, he would leave here with the excuse that he needed to work.
“But you’re my love. You’re my love forever,” Kylie whimpered.
Ethan couldn’t believe his ears. “What did you say?”
Chapter 539: Say That Against
Kylie raised her head and tried to kiss him, but Ethan pulled her away.
“Say that again,” Ethan stared at her.
“I wanted to find Stephen’s body because he died in such a messy situation. You, mother, and Dinah all need a clear explanation. We need to find his body for us to have a proper closure. Don’t give another meaning to my longing for him because this was only part of the guilt feelings I have over the past few months. Remember, he remains your twin brother and the uncle of our children. I am worried too that Dinah has disappeared without a trace. I knew she suffered a lot because she loved Stephen so much. And don’t be mad at me because I’ve confessed to you that I only love you, and I already accepted your identity immediately when I learned the truth. You have heard me tell you I am willing to become one of your kind and will adopt the normal life that hybrid had,” Kylie said. “If you’re unhappy about it, I’ll be unhappier than you.” The second she finished, Ethan kissed her.
He pressed his hand against the bed in order not to put much pressure on her body. “Honey, don’t worry about Dinah, she can handle herself, she’s an immortal too,” He answered, but Kylie remains silent.
He kissed her with great passion from her forehead down to her belly.
“Ethan,” Kylie called his name.
Ethan heavily breathed and kept kissing her belly. “Babies, did you hear that? I’m your mother’s love forever.”
Kylie was amused and felt like laughing. All of a sudden, she felt the cold, and a drop of tear rolled down from her belly.
“Ethan.” Kylie sat up without delay. She hugged his neck tight. “I’m sorry that I made you feel so insecure. I promise I’ll tell you everything and be honest with you. Can you…”
“I promise I won’t be jealous again.” Ethan held her hand and kissed her fingertips. “What do you want to do next?”
Kylie snorted with laughter. “I can’t now. Look at my belly.”
There was burning desire in Ethan’s eyes. “It’s fine. I’ll be very gentle.”
After that, he turned Kylie around and faced her back.

The next noon, William called Kylie and complained that she had left too early last night. He had to stay at the party to help her socialize with those guests, and he had a terrible hangover now.

Kylie’s belly was already huge when the first season of I Can Do It was over, so she didn’t join it again.
Therefore, when the film version of I Can Do It was in theaters, Kylie insisted on watching it in a theater in-person to support it.
Ethan planned to book a whole theater to let Kylie enjoy it alone, but Kylie thought she couldn’t see the audience’s reaction in that case.
As a result of their discussion, Ethan booked the second floor of the theater, and only Kylie was on it.

His wife was pregnant now, and she had the final say. When he found Kylie could barely sleep well at night because of pregnancy, he felt regretful that he had made her pregnant.
Kylie stopped him at the door of the ladies’ room. “Wait outside.”
“There is no one else around,” Ethan said.
“No.,” Kylie insisted. She got inside alone, then closed the door.
Her legs were obviously thicker than before. She looked at her belly in the mirror after urinating. “How long will it take to lose so much weight?”
“Kylie, are you alright?” Ethan urged her.
“Yeah.” Kylie washed her hands but soon felt cold after her belly was pressed against the edge of the basin for a short while.
She rubbed her belly, walking out, and Ethan went ahead to support her at once. “What’s wrong? Do you feel uncomfortable in your belly?”
“Nope, my belly just touched the edge of the basin, and it feels a little cold.” Kylie rubbed and reached her stomach. “I want to eat popcorn.”
Ethan glanced around and found the box office at the entrance.
There weren’t more people on the second floor, so the two staff members were chatting with each other now.
“Wait here for me,” Ethan said.
Kylie nodded, then sat down on the bench near the washroom.
Ethan walked ahead and turned around the next second to check whether Kylie was fine. Kylie waved at him, and he turned to step ahead again.
Right when Ethan turned back, Kylie noticed a familiar figure flash by from the mirror of the washroom.
Stephen!
She was sure she was right.
Stephen met her eyes when he walked by the mirror! Although he was wearing an expressionless face, his eyes were still as gentle as always when he saw her.
At this moment, Kylie forgot she was a pregnant woman and abruptly stood up.
Seeing that, Stephen walked downstairs without hesitation.
Kylie moved too fast, and her belly tightened all of a sudden. She wanted to call Ethan but was afraid Stephen might escape again, so she decided to chase him up herself.
Stephen stepped away, alternating slow and fast pace. It seemed he was waiting for her on purpose.
Kylie couldn’t move fast, so she walked downstairs at a slow pace with one hand pressed against the wall.
She kept looking at Stephen through gaps in the handrails. Stephen almost reached the first floor and even turned to glance at her.
“Stephen, don’t go! I need to talk to you!” Kylie shouted at him, and her voice echoed in the stairs.
Chapter 540: I Can Stand It
When Ethan went back with a bucket of popcorn, he found Kylie was missing.
He got anxious at once, then heard Kylie’s voice.
“Kylie!” Ethan called her.
Kylie went downstairs and said, “Ethan, come here now! I just saw Stephen.”
Kylie glanced around and found Stephen was already at the door. He stopped and waved his hand at Kylie.
“Hey, don’t…” Kylie lost control of herself and moved a step forward all of a sudden.
She paid all her attention to Stephen and didn’t notice there was another step under her feet.
Without stepping on it, Kylie directly fell down on the ground.
“Kylie!” Ethan dashed to her side quickly.
Kylie was struck dumb for a second. Her tight belly suddenly twitched, followed by a flow of liquid.
“Ethan, I’m fine. Go see whether Stephen is gone or not.” She tolerated the pain and pushed Ethan away.
Ethan was nervous. Even though Kylie didn’t tell him, he could feel her belly got tight when he lifted her up.
“Let’s go to the hospital!” Ethan insisted on carrying her up in his arms.
“I’m fine. Don’t let him escape again.” Kylie swallowed hard. “He walked slowly. It seems he deliberately attracts me out.”
Ethan didn’t know what to do but could only call his chauffeur to drive his car to the door, and he ran towards it himself at the same time.
However, there was no one at the door. Stephen was nowhere to be seen either.
When he got back to Kylie’s side, he found Kylie’s pants were already wet. Her water broke!
“Kylie, you can’t stay here like this. We must go to the hospital right now!” Ethan carried Kylie up in his arms at once.
Because Kylie was carrying twins, the hospital was already prepared for an early birth a long time ago, but they didn’t expect it would come so soon.
Once the nurse received Ethan’s call, she went to wait for them with a surgery bed at the door of the hospital. The moment Ethan’s car showed up, she helped Kylie get on the bed.
Kylie was pushed into the delivery room, but Ethan felt like a cat on hot bricks now. His chauffeur was the only person who could stay calm here, and he called Barbara without delay.
Barbara and Adolph arrived at the hospital within half an hour with prepared clothes and a blanket for the babies.
“Ethan, relax, it’s very normal,” Barbara said to comfort Ethan.
Several nurses ran over with tools for the operation at this moment. Ethan stopped one of them and asked urgently, “How is my wife?”
“Don’t worry, the doctor will be here in a second,” the nurse said, then entered the operating room.
Kylie couldn’t think clearly now in the great pain and squeezed the guardrails at the sides of the bed. “Doctor, how are my babies?”
“Relax, they’re good,” a nurse said to her after checking the condition of her babies.
Another round of great pain attacked her the next second, and she shouted, “Oh my, it’s so painful!”
Hearing that, Ethan almost knocked on the door open. Luckily, Nate came on time and stopped him along with Adolph.
“Let me go!” Ethan said.
“I won’t!” Nate said. “Delivery is painful. Everybody knows that. It’s useless even if you’re in the room.”
Ethan struggled for a while, then gave up. He shouted to Kylie with the door in the middle. “Kylie, stop it there. You can stop if it’s too painful.”
He didn’t have the heart to let Kylie suffer the torture.
Kylie indeed was in great torture now and could only vent her anger at Ethan.
“Ethan, it’s all your fault!” Why didn’t he think about the day of delivery when he enjoyed the sex with her?
He was the one who enjoyed the whole process, but she had to suffer the pain at the end!
“Yeah, it’s all my fault. We can give it up now!” Ethan shouted outside.
“It’s not up to you to give it up right now.” A man in a blue operation gown showed up by Ethan’s side.
The two men were of the same height but had totally different airs.
The doctor pushed the glasses on his nose and said with a calm face, “I understand you must be anxious and nervous, but you should encourage your wife, instead of telling her to give it up.”
After that, the doctor pushed the door of the delivery room open and walked inside.
Nate was struck dumb. It was the first time that he had seen someone dared criticize Ethan.
Ethan was also surprised but soon thought the doctor was right.
The doctor walked to the delivery bed, and a nurse handed him a pair of disposable medical gloves. “The fetal heartbeat and blood pressure are normal. Her cervix is already 5 cm dilated.”
The doctor put on the gloves and checked the medical equipment by the bed. “Don’t worry, you’ll see your babies soon.”
Kylie was out of strength now. “I-I’m fine. I-I can stand it.”
“Great,” the doctor said.
Kylie had a mouthful of water, and the uterine contraction began again within a minute.
The temporary uterine contraction only caused Kylie endless pain. She squeezed the bed rails with great force and clenched her teeth to tolerate the agony.
When the pain finally passed, Kylie was sweating. “Please, I think I need to use the washroom now.”
A nurse checked her cervix, then said to Kylie with a smile, “Don’t worry, you just have a feeling of pressure because the babies are moving out. You’re about to give birth.”
Knowing that, Kylie thought it was worthwhile to suffer the pain if she could see her babies soon.
She raised a smile and breathed hard according to the nurse’s guidance.
They thought the babies would soon come out after the cervix was fully dilated, but there was no hint of that even though Kylie had suffered the pain for a total of three hours.
Ethan lost patience outside the room.
The doctor was also worried. He wiped the sweat off Kylie’s face and asked, “Do you need me to call your husband inside?”
“No…” Kylie said, clenching her teeth.
If Ethan saw her being like this, he might lose control of his emotions. In that case, he would be the one who needed comfort, instead of her.
However, Kylie felt helpless after the pain got stronger and stronger. She even thought it would be a shame if she couldn’t see Ethan the last time when she was about to die on this delivery bed.
“P-Please,” Kylie said in a weak voice. “I-I need…”
The doctor glanced at her and understood her meaning at once. “I’ll call your husband in right now.”
When Ethan saw the door open, he ran ahead and asked, “How’s my wife now?”
The doctor said, “You can come in and stay by her side during the delivery.”
Ethan couldn’t wait for a second longer and strode inside without delay, but the doctor stopped him. “Remember to encourage her.”
Ethan got rid of his hand and strode in without hesitation.
He almost cried out when he saw Kylie lying on the bed with her hair all damped by sweat.
