Ch. 1281..1290: Chapter 1281-1290
Chapter 1281
"Why don't you go upstairs and see if Yasmine is in her room?" Ivor's eyes grew dark.
Floyd wiped his mouth and said, "Alright, Mr. Ivor. I'm on it." He went upstairs, looking for Yasmine.
A couple of minutes later, he came down again and ran over to Ivor hurriedly.
"Ms. Yasmine's door was open, so I went inside and saw a note on her table."
Ivor heard what he said, and his frown grew deeper.
"Note? What do you mean?"
"Well..." Floyd hesitated. He wondered if he should show Ivor the note. After all, he had read what Yasmine wrote on it. He was sure that Ivor would get mad if he read it.
"Show it to me now!" Ivor said it fiercely. There seemed to be a storm brewing in his eyes.Chapter
Floyd thought to himself. 'I'm really sorry about this, Yasmine!'
He fished the note out of his pocket and handed it to Ivor.
"H-Here's the note, Mr. Ivor. Go ahead and read it..."
Ivor snatched the note and read it carefully.
Yasmine wrote, "I just can't stop worrying about Boyd. I have to make sure that he's safe. That's why I've made up my mind to brave Billy's organization alongside the Nidhoggs.
"I'm sorry. This is the first time I've disobeyed your order. I mean it, I'm sorry. I hope you won't be mad at me,"
Underneath the words was the drawing of a cartoon character who was kneeling and looking pitiable. The veins on the side of Ivor's head twitched.
"I know she's impulsive, but I didn't count on her being this reckless!"
Floyd didn't even dare to breathe loudly. Then, he asked gingerly, "What should we do now, Mr. Ivor? Ms. Yasmine tagged along with the Nidhoggs without your permission. Do you think they'll see it as us breaching the agreement? What if they decided not to lend us their chip?"
"The Nidhoggs aren't that petty." Ivor took a deep breath and barely shoved his rage down. Then, he felt a headache coming on and rubbed his brow fiercely.
"We can't let Yasmine have her way. If we do nothing about it, then that makes it our problem."
Ivor analyzed the situation and relayed an order to Floyd quickly. "Use the GPS and look into her location. Find out where she is now."
"Roger that." Floyd pulled out his phone to check the GPS.
Several seconds later, he raised his head and looked at Ivor. He hesitated a little before he spoke. "I can't see her GPS signal, Mr. Ivor. She probably guessed that we'd look for her and turned it off."
Ivor was so enraged that he saw red.
"Find her. Send our men to track her down. If that fails, I'll have to give Collin a call!"
'It would've been fine if I could deal with Boyd, but he's not around. On the other hand, Collin resents us. I wouldn't talk to him if I had another choice.'
Floyd noticed Ivor's dark expression. "Didn't Collin say that they're only moving tonight? We found out about Yasmine's intention early. If we start searching for her now, we can probably track her down before their operation."
Ivor gave him a sidelong glance. He rubbed his brow again before saying coldly, "Given Yasmine's character and her skills in hiding herself, do you think we could find her if she doesn't want to be found?"
Chapter 1282
"Well..."
Floyd was stumped.
'It's true. Not only is Yasmine good at hypnosis, but she is also a master at hiding herself. She doesn't want to be found, and she has removed the tracker we put on her.'
"Well. What should we do now? Should we ask Collin?"
Ivor lowered his inexplicable eyes. Moments later, he said coldly, "Don't call him for now. Send our men to look for her first."
"Roger, Mr. Ivor," Floyd responded. He pulled out his phone and informed everyone to look for Yasmine.
Meanwhile, Ivor sat on his chair and felt a headache coming on.
'Yasmine is extraordinarily hung up on Boyd. It's just our luck that he isn't around. Instead, we have Collin, who wanted nothing to do with us. It's going to be quite difficult to get a handle on the situation.'
In the blink of an eye, evening rolled on. Dusk was approaching, and yet none of the men Floyd sent out managed to track down Yasmine.
Floyd came over to report it to Ivor. He saw his boss standing by the window, looking grim.
"We still haven't had any news about Ms. Yasmine, Mr. Ivor."
Ivor pursed his lips and his brows knitted tightly. "Okay. You may leave now."
'I've known this is how it's going to end. It looks like a call to Collin is unavoidable.'
Floyd asked timidly, "Should we continue to track her, Mr. Ivor?"
"Call off the search." Ivor's voice was as cold as it was blood-chilling. "Leave the room, now."
"At your command."
Floyd bolted out of the room. He didn't dare exhale loudly until he was out in the hallway. At the same time, he offered up a prayer for Yasmine.
'Yasmine might've done a lot of reckless stuff and butted heads with Ivor all the time, but Ivor hadn't gotten mad at her, not even once, because he cared about his friendship with her brother.Chapter
'This time, however, Yasmine has clearly stepped over the line. I wonder what kind of fury awaits her when she returns here."
Back in the room, Ivor left the window and walked over to the table. He took his phone and gave Collin a
call.
Collin was in his room, preparing for the operation. He was preparing guns, medications, bulletproof vests, and other supplies. Every single one of them was essential for tonight.
'After all, we're going to burrow deep into Billy's organization. This is quite a perilous operation. I'll be able to reduce the risks for everyone if I get these things ready beforehand."
His phone, which lay next to him, buzzed all of a sudden. He saw that it was Ivor calling.
'Why is Vic calling me at this hour? Is it because he knows we're about to set out and wants to elbow his way into joining our operation?'
Collin frowned slightly. He hesitated for a brief moment before answering the call.
Chapter 1283
"Hello?"
Collin heard Ivor's deep voice from the other end of the phone.
"I need to talk to you about something."
This was the first time he had heard Ivor speak to him in such a tone. He couldn't help but feel a little surprised.
"Keep it short, then. I'm moving out soon."
Ivor proceeded to give Collin a brief rundown of Yasmine's situation.Chapter
"She's probably near your hotel and will find a way to blend into your people when you move out." Collin remained quiet. The silence lasted for more than ten seconds before he found his voice again. "Um... Yasmine is really smitten with Boyd, it seems."
'The thing is, Boyd is actually a lady! Obviously, Yasmine had fallen in love with the wrong person.' Now, it was Ivor's turn to fall silent. He asked in a deep voice, "Is that all you've got?"
Collin asked, "What else do you want from me? What kind of answer are you looking for?"
"Technically speaking, Yasmine is taking part in your organization without permission. I want to know your take on it."
'My primary concern is that her action will have ramifications on our agreement about borrowing the chip. I don't quite care about the rest.'
Collin knew instantly what he meant.
"It's true. Yasmine's actions are inappropriate. Her actions could seem like you breached the agreement. However, we aren't that petty. She's only doing this because she's worried about Boyd. It'd be unbecoming of us to hold you responsible for something like this."
With that, he paused a little and said something that reassured Ivor.
"I'll explain this situation to Boyd. There's nothing to be worried about here. He's understanding. He won't hold this over you guys and refuse to lend the chip."
Ivor felt much better.
'What surprises me is how friendly and approachable Collin is today. I thought he'd be all sarcastic before I made this call.'
"So... Are you going to let Yasmine join your operation?"
"Since she's gone this far, I don't think stopping her will help. Instead, she'll just find another way to follow us so she can see Boyd. I think we should let her tag along with us." Collin didn't think much of it. "Furthermore, Yasmine is probably a capable fighter. I won't have to worry too much about her."
Ivor confidently responded to Collin, "You're right. Yasmine is capable of handling herself. So, you don't have to look out for her. Just remind her not to be overly excited when she sees Boyd."
'I have no idea about the specifics of their operation, but I do know that it's a perilous one, given Boyd's current circumstances.
'Now that they've agreed to let Yasmine tag along, the least she could do is stay out of trouble.'
"Alright. You go it. I'll give her a gentle reminder." Collin said. He raised his hand, saw that it was almost time, and said to Ivor, "We're going to begin the operation soon. Is there anything else? I'm going to hang up otherwise."
Ivor responded faintly, "That's all. Goodbye."
Collin ended the call. Then he got his equipment and went over to where his men were gathered.
He swept his eyes across them and looked at a corner. There was a tall, slender figure, who was dressed in a black shirt and pants, complete with a black hat.
It was nighttime. On top of that, she was dressed entirely in black in a large crowd of people. No one would've noticed her under normal circumstances.
Chapter 1284noveldrama
Be that as it may, Collin was still able to pinpoint Yasmine among the crowd.
She noticed him looking at her and instinctively pressed down her hat. 'Did he see me already?'
Yasmine was still in the middle of her thoughts when a shadow enveloped her. She whipped her head up and met Collin's sarcastic gaze.
"You didn't exactly have permission to be here, Yasmine. Why, it's a little unseemly of you."
Everyone heard what he said and couldn't resist turning around, casting their gazes at her.
Yasmine instantly felt anxious. She went stiff, unsure of what she should do.
'I've disguised myself perfectly. How did Collin see through it? This doesn't make any sense. What exactly did I do wrong?'
Collin realized she was rooted to the spot. He didn't say anything either. Instead, he reached out and took her hat away.
Her face was clearly disguised, but he could just make out her jawline.
"There's no need to hide anymore."
She pouted, and her face was filled with bewilderment.
"I hid myself marvelously. Furthermore, there are so many people here. How did you find me?"
Collin couldn't resist laughing.
"I've taken on perilous missions with these people for years, Yasmine. Do you think I wouldn't have noticed it if a stranger was amidst them?"
'I didn't consider that. I saw this big crowd and thought Collin wouldn't see me. That's why I came over here boldly. I never thought Collin would notice me this soon. But I'm already here. Is he going to deny me from seeing Boyd?'
Yasmine fluttered her eyes at Collin.
"I'm really worried about Mr. Boyd and I want to see him. Please, Collin, take me with you." Then, she raised her hand and swore an oath, "I just want to take a look at him for a while. I swear, I won't stir up any trouble for you! Take me with you, please."
Yasmine clasped her fingers and glanced at Collin pitifully.
Meanwhile, Collin watched as she acted cute and appealed to him, but he knew she was merely doing it for Bonnie's sake.
'I have to give it to Bonnie. She's extremely gorgeous as a lady. Countless incredible men threw themselves at her. Even the wealthiest man in Pyralis succumbed to her charm and surrendered to her.
'I didn't count on someone as spectacular as Yasmine to fall head over heels for Bonnie when she camouflaged herself as a man.
'Bonnie truly had a way with both men and women. I wonder when will it be my turn to have such luck with the ladies.'
Chapter 1285
Yasmine realized that Collin hadn't spoken for a long time. She thought he was going to reject her. So, she immediately worked some tears into her eyes to win some sympathy points.
"Please say yes and let me tag along with you. I want to see Mr. Boyd. I'm really worried about him."
Collin came to his senses and was startled when he saw tears in her eyes.
"I never said anything about not taking you with me. What are you crying for? Wipe your tears now. Otherwise, people might think I picked on you!"
Yasmine smiled immediately.
"D-Does that mean you're willing to take me to Mr. Boyd?"
"Yeah." Collin nodded lightly. Then, he looked at her solemnly and said, "I'll bring you along, but you have to promise me that you won't get worked up when you see him. You have to remain calm. Otherwise, you might put him in danger!
"Mr. Boyd had been in Billy's organization for a long time. This is the opportunity he's been waiting for. So, don't ruin it. Not even I can tell what's going to happen if you do."
"You got it! I'll never, ever stir up any trouble for you or Mr. Boyd!" Yasmine nodded aggressively before looking at him.
She asked, "What kind of operation is this? I might be able to help you if you tell me. At the very least, I could go along with it, even if I can't be of help."
Collin frowned before he raised his head and glanced at Yasmine. In the end, he chose to tell her about the full facade of the operation.
Yasmine's eyes widened with disbelief when he was done talking.
"T-"This is very risky."
"It is, but we don't have a choice. Mr. Boyd has to do it if he wants to dispel Falcon's suspicion."
"What about your marksmanship? Are you a good shooter? What if you made a mistake and shot Mr. Boyd somewhere bad instead?" Yasmine was already starting to worry about her savior's safety.
Collin felt a little speechless. Then, he looked at Yasmine the way he would a moron.
"Do you think he would entrust this task to me if I'm not a good shooter? Moreover, he personally taught me how to wield a gun. I'm confident that I won't harm him."
"Mr. Boyd personally taught you how to shoot?" Yasmine instantly felt much better. Then, she reached out and patted him on the shoulder. "He's excellent with guns. I don't think you'll be that far behind him."
"Why bother stating the obvious?" Collin shook her hand off. He pulled out his phone and sent a text to Bonnie.
"We're ready to go, chief. We should arrive at Billy's organization in about half an hour. Try to stick to Falcon for the time being."
Bonnie replied with an "Okay."
Collin waved his hand immediately after he got a reply from Bonnie. He shouted to his men, "Move out!"
"Roger!" All of his men responded simultaneously and got into cars before driving toward Billy's organization.
Yasmine and Collin shared the same car. She thought about how he had lowered his head and texted someone. Then, she leaned in and asked curiously, "Did you just send a text to Mr. Boyd?"
"Mm-hmm," Collin responded before turning his gaze to her. He said playfully, "Why did you ask me that? Is it because you can't wait for a little longer? Are you that eager to hear his voice?"Chapter
Yasmine could tell he was making fun of her. Due to reasons unbeknownst to her, her face turned red. "I didn't say anything like that. Knock it off. I can do without your nonsense."
Collin saw her reddened face and couldn't help but tease her.
"Is it really nonsense? Or, do you really harbor some intentions for my chief? I believe, deep down, you know the answer. However, nothing would ever come out of it. You should just forget about it." Yasmine's eyes grew dark. Even the smile on her face vanished.
Chapter 1286
"I know he's a married man. I'm not going to do anything. I just want to make sure he's safe. I could do without you guys reminding me about it over and over again."
Collin remained quiet and gave her a look.
'Bonnie really is married. Moreover, her husband is none other than Ivor, a renowned figure in Pyralis! This isn't the most important thing, though. What matters more is that Bonnie is actually a lady.'
Yasmine smiled bitterly.
For a moment there, none of them said anything. Silence hung over the car.
...
Bonnie looked for Falcon as soon as she replied to Collin's text.
Falcon heard someone knocking on his door and went over to open it. He was stunned when he saw Bonnie.
"What brought you here, Barrett? Is there anything I can do for you?"
Bonnie pretended to be dispirited and let out a sigh.
"It's nothing, really. I just ran into something that made me feel awful. So, I want to chat with you and take my mind off it."
Falcon heard what she said and scanned her suspiciously.
"What could've made you feel awful? Are you going to tell me Billy did something that upset you?"
"It's not Billy. It's something else." Bonnie lowered her head and appeared to be downtrodden.
Falcon asked with a smile, "Why would you want to talk to me about it?"
He might've been smiling, but he was actually testing her. His eyes were filled with suspicions as well. Obviously, he found her behavior unusual. Bonnie sighed again.
"Although you keep suspecting that
I'm
liked to your master, I still h

feeling about you. You look friend with whom I talk to.
"I talked to everyone else, but they were all submissive and afraid to offend me. I won't be able to have a deep conversation with them. That's why I'm here, looking for you."
It was a sound explanation.
Falcon pondered it and decided to trust Bonnie. "Fine, then. What do you want to talk about?"
She nodded and gestured at him, "Let's talk outside. We can enjoy some scenery too."
"Sure thing."
Falcon thought, 'I'm very safe in Billy's organization. Even if Barrett does anything, odds are he won't be able to do any harm.'
Falcon followed Bonnie out the door.
Once they were outside, Bonnie told him about her 'problems.' They were all menial familial matters, but Falcon was taking it seriously.
།
"Your mom might have a serious condition and couldn't look after you all the time, but she's still around, at least I've never even seen what my mom looks like."
Bonnie knew about Falcon's background, but she pretended to be surprised nheless.
"Huh? Haven't you seen your mom ever? Where's your childhood home?"
"My childhood home, huh..."
Falcon fell into deep thought. 'I relied on selling the stuff I stole to survive when I was young. Once I grew older, I ran into Boyd.'
Chapter 1287
'Back then, Boyd wasn't as tall as I was, but he was already commanding an authoritative air. He tested my talents before taking me back to his organization. He put me through training and groomed me patiently.
'However, more and more people showed up beside him. He started forgetting about me and how hard I worked.
'Slowly but surely, he no longer saw me. Eventually, he was so occupied with other stuff in his life that he couldn't run his organization anymore. But things between him and me got so bad that he didn't even appoint me to run it on his behalf. Instead, he left Collin in charge of everything.
'Ever since that moment, he planted dark, wicked thoughts in the back of my mind. I was forced to live under Collin's thumb for a long time. In the end, I couldn't take it anymore. That's why I stole the chip and threw in my lot with Billy and his organization.
'I'm aware that I wouldn't have been able to know what I know without Boyd, but he forced my hand and made me into what I am today...'Chapter
Meanwhile, Bonnie realized that Falcon was dazed. She waved her hand in front of him.
"Earth to Falcon. What are you thinking, buddy?"
That snapped him out of his recollection. He flashed a smile at her and shook his head.
"It's nothing. I was merely thinking about something unpleasant."
"Anyway, you have yet to tell me where your childhood home is. After all, you said you hadn't even seen your mom once." Bonnie said and stared at him profoundly.
'I said what I said because I need to find out if there's a shred of conscience left in Falcon!'
Falcon met her gaze. To his surprise, it felt as if someone had pierced his heart. Then, a deep sense of guilt followed.
It was as if he had done something wrong to Bonnie. As a matter of fact, he did do wrong by her.
However, she was playing her role as Barrett now. So, she couldn't say it out loud.
Bonnie realized that Falcon was being silent again. She reached out and waved her hand in front of his eyes again. "Hmm? What's the matter with you? Why aren't you saying anything? Is it because you don't feel like answering?"
Falcon didn't want to talk about it, but decided to go along with it.
"You're right. I have no intention of answering it. You shouldn't ask about it again, ever."
She heard what he said and a thick sense of coldness flashed in her eyes.
'Heh...There's a reason I called Falcon an animal.
819
'He didn't have the courage to face the fact that he used to be in my organization. He's running away from the fact that he's indebted to me.
'I have truly wasted my efforts and time on him! If I'd known this was turn out, I should've left him
how
to
in the landfill. After all, that's
where pieces of garbage belong!'
All of a sudden, Falcon felt chills down his spine. He couldn't help but reach out and touch the nape of his neck.
"It's quite warm today. So, why am I feeling chilly?"
Bonnie responded with a blank expression, "Perhaps it's the wind."
Falcon nodded in agreement before tugging on his coat. "It's possible. Is that all you want to talk about? It's time for us to head back."
She lowered her head subtly and checked the watch. She counted the time and thought that Collin should be here with her men by now.
'I should buy Collin some time and keep Falcon out here. It'll make it easier for him and the men to do their thing.'
Bonnie was still in the middle of her
thoughts when one of Billy's
henchmen ran over hurriedly and said 'M-Mr. Falcon. Mr. Barrett.
Something bad happened"
'It looks like Collin and the gang are here.'
Bonnie's lips curled into a grin. Then, she pretended to be nervous and asked the henchman, "What's wrong? What happened?"
Chapter 1288
Billy's henchman was panting heavily. He gave himself a moment to breathe before he said again, "I-I have no idea how, but the Nidhoggs found where we are. T-They're marching through the main entrance and heading this way as we speak!"
"What did you say?" Falcon's eyes widened in shock. For a moment there, he thought he had heard it wrongly. Then he leaped forward, grabbed the henchman by his collar, and said, "Run that by me again!"
The henchman was shocked at how Falcon reacted, but he knew how serious the whole thing was. He said hurriedly, "We don't know how the Nidhoggs did it, but they found out our headquarters' location. They're heading this way as we speak!"
Falcon stared at the henchman carefully. He saw how panicked and frightened he was and decided that the latter wasn't making a joke. Then, he felt crushed by the immense pressure and his body shivered.
"I-It's over. Everything's over."
A hint of solemnity flashed in Bonnie's eyes. Then, she pretended to be concerned and helped Falcon find his footing.
"What's wrong, Falcon? Are you alright?"Chapter
Falcon's face turned pale as he mumbled, "R-Run. N-Now..."
He said this as he staggered forward.
'Billy has placed his organization in a well-hidden location. How is it that the Nidhoggs track us down this fast?
'Boyd has groomed every single person in his own organization. All of them hated deceptions and betrayals. I've done something as wicked as stealing the chip. There's no way they'll let me off the hook!
'If they catch me, they're going to torture me to the point of death. I have to run. I can't let any of the Nidhoggs catch me!'
Bonnie watched as he staggered forward and ran after him.
"The Nidhoggs might be here, but do you have to be this frightened? We're standing in Billy's territory. He's going to keep us safe."
Falcon heard her casual tone and stopped running, but the terror on his face wasn't lessened at all.
"You don't understand. You just don't get it! Just stop talking and follow me."
'I might've bragged about how
incredible and capable I am
normally. However, when the
Nidhoggs infiltrate Billy's
l
organization, I can not help but feel concerned. It took me a great deal of
trouble to find this safe haven.
'After all, I know the kind of hell waiting for me if they really manage to capture me and take me back to their base.
'That's why I have to run as far as my feet will carry me.'
Meanwhile, Bonnie saw his expression. Her lips curled into a grin, and a hint of profound coldness flashed in his eyes.
'Heh heh... Is he finally scared now? Well, he shouldn't have played with fire.
'In any case, it's only a matter of time before we capture Falcon and take him back for punishment. But I'm going to let him walk free for a little longer because it's not the right time to seize him yet.
'The moment I've successfully retrieved the chip is also the moment I'll capture him and take him back. He can look forward to
hell when that happens.'
Bonnie was in the middle of her thoughts when she followed Falcon. Once they turned the corner, they ran into Billy, who was wearing a grim expression.
Chapter 1289
Falcon saw the look on Billy's face and was very sure that the Nidhoggs did intrude on the base. His voice was deep when he asked, "What should we do now, Billy?"
"We're making a break for it. What matters is that we're alive to achieve our goals. We'll talk about the rest of it after we survive the Nidhoggs' invasion." Billy's voice was cold.
'I spent years searching for a perfect hiding spot for my base. As far as I'm concerned, this is the most secluded spot.
'So, how did the Nidhoggs track us down?'
This invasion made Billy extremely alert. Thick waves of suspicion rose within his chest over and over again.
'There could be a mole in my organization. Someone must've secretly exposed our location to the Nidhoggs. Otherwise, they wouldn't have found out about this spot that quickly.
'That begs the question-Who in the hell is the mole?'
Billy had been racking his brain for an answer while he searched for Falcon and Bonnie. However, he didn't get close to figuring it out.Chapter
'Is it possible that the Nidhoggs have such a vastwork that they managed to suss out my location after several investigations?'
"Billy's right. What matters now is surviving the Nidhoggs' attack. We'll talk about the rest later." Falcon might've seemed reliable, but his voice was shaking subtly. Clearly, the Nidhoggs' arrival had rattled him.
"Mm-hmm," Billy responded dryly. He saw Bonnie, who was standing next to Falcon, out of the corner of his eyes and couldn't help but remind her, "Stay close to us, Barrett. Don't fall behind."
Bonnie nodded and deliberately sounded curious when she asked, "Are the Nidhoggs this powerful, Billy? Why does their arrival unnerve you and Falcon this much?"
She pretended to be puzzled, playing her trait of innocence and inexperience to perfection.
Billy looked at her sideways. "Our
organization is powerful. That much
vel.ne
is true. But, we still have some ways to go before we can become as powerful as an international organization like the Nidhoggs. With that said, you don't have to worry about it one bit.
"Now that you're one of us, I'll make sure you're safe and keep you out of danger."
Bonnie heard what he said and feigned relief while she patted her chest.
"I've been worried that you and the others might leave me to my own device. I feel much better now."
'I'll leave the whole organization
alone before leave Barrett to his fate. After all, he's the unparalleled genius here! He's the key to cracking the chip How am I going to get it. cracked if Barrett's gone? How am I supposed to make my dream of ruling over international
organizations come true without
him?
'That's why I won't leave Barrett behind, no matter what happens!'
"Let me put your mind at ease. I'll never leave you to your own device." Billy gave her a reassuring answer.
Bonnie pretended to be very moved. Even her eyes turned red.
"I appreciate it, Billy. You're not giving up on me or abandoning me at a critical juncture like this, I have to say, this is—"
To her surprise, Falcon cut her off before she could finish.
"That's enough. There's no time for
sappy stuff now. We have to get out of here
soon as possible. We're
done for if the Nidhoggs have us boxed in!"
Chapter 1290
Billy agreed to what Falcon said. "He's right. We should focus on leaving here. Anything else can wait until after we're absolutely safe."
Bonnie dropped the matter and went along with Billy instead.
"Alright, Billy. Lead the way, guys. I'll follow you from behind."
"Okay." Billy nodded gently and took the front.Chapter
After all, he knew the paths around here. The fact that this was his base didn't hurt either. He knew the lay of the land better than anyone. It made sense for him to take the lead.
Bonnie followed Billy and Falcon. They made a lot of turns and passed by a lot of places.
'I have to give it to Billy. This place is a good location for a base. We've been walking for a while now, but we have yet to run into anyone. It's likely that no one else but Billy and some of his core members know about this escape route.
'That also means it'll be difficult for Collin and the others to find it. This won't do. I have to figure out a way to share my location with him. It'll be all for nothing if Billy and Falcon manage to get away.'
Bonnie subtly observed Billy and Falcon, who were walking in front of her. There were no signs that they'd turn around. So, she pulled out her phone quietly and shared the location with Collin swiftly.
To her surprise, she met both Billy's and Falcon's gazes the moment she raised her head.
"Why did you stop, guys?"
Falcon looked at the phone in her
l
hand and felt a deep sense of suspicion rising within his chest. The he hurried over to her and snatched her phone.
"Let's see what you've been doing with your phone!"
Bonnie explained herself immediately, "I notice there's a
tunnel ahead of us. So, I pulled
I
to turn on the flashlight. Why did you take my phone away?"
"Really?" Clearly, Falcon didn't buy what she was selling.
He turned on her phone's screen and checked each of the applications.
Billy came over as well. He followed Falcon's gaze and looked at Bonnie's phone.
Bonnie put on an innocent face and said, "Why else would I pull out my phone?"
Instead of responding to her, Falcon continued to check the applications on her phone.
He checked the applications on her phone several times, but there was no sign of foul play. It didn't seem
any
like she secretly sent someone
texts.
'Is it possible that I overthought this?'
Falcon's eyes were filled with suspicion. Just as he was about to keep looking, Billy growled out of nowhere.
