Chapter 251

“What?!” Bonnie picked her ear and laughed, saying, “Xavier spent a billion on this ginseng, and you’re trying to buy it from with for fifty grand? You must have a screw loose, Vera.”

Avril and Kay echanged glances. They were speechless because of Vera’s outrageous demand. Vera was furious as she said, “Are you honestly asking for more? Do you know how critical the condition of Trina’s grandfather is? Saving his life is the right thing to do.

“I’ve done my part by offering fifty grand for the ginseng. I’m not even asking you to give it to me for free. You have your panties in a bunch.”

Bonnie could no longer bear her estranged mother. The former had decided to leave the Shepards because she knew Vera and Gresham’s character too well. Once she left, she would have nothing to do with them.

“Fuck this, Bonnie! I’m sorry, but she’s the biggest scumbag there is. I can’t stand her anymore. She’s the worst human being I’ve ever met.” Kay was so frustrated that she had to pat her chest to calm herself down.

Vera could not tolerate Kay’s insults. The former said, “I know you’re Master Orson’s granddaughter, Kay. Still, it doesn’t mean you can insult me.”

Kay retorted, arms akimbo, “Can you blame me? Even if Trina’s grandfather is ill, you can’t guilt trip Bonnie. She’s not obligated to save anyone in your family. Would you have demanded the ginseng if Xavier had it instead of Bonnie? You wouldn’t have guilt- tripped him, correct?”

Vera pursed her lips as her eyes reddened.

“I thought so. You wouldn’t dare if someone else had the ginseng. You’d never have offered fifty grand for it, either. You’re only doing it to Bonnie because you hate her. You never considered her your daughter.

“Whenever you see her getting something good, you try to snatch it. How can such a bitch like you become a mother? I’ve never met anyone so wicked. Bonnie must feel

humiliated to have a mother like you!” Kay was irritated.

Meanwhile, Avril resisted her urge to clap in delight.

‘Kay tore Vera a new one!‘

Although Vera wanted to retort, Kay was a member of the Steele family. The former could not fight with Kay and offend Orson. After all, it would hinder the Shepards‘ future. Even so, she was not about to back off and do nothing to Bonnie.

“It’s between you and me, Bonnie. I’ll meet you halfway and pay you a hundred grand for the ginseng. There, I doubled my offer.”

Bonnie looked at Vera indifferently and said, “I won’t sell it to you for that little. Here’s an idea. Call the cops and tell them to arrest me instead. Tell them I refuse to sell you the ginseng for a billion dollars, and you offered me a whopping hundred grand for it.

“While you’re at it, why not tell them how outrageous I am for not selling it to you? They might help you and put me behind bars.”

“Why, you little-” Although furious, Vera did everything she could not to slap her former daughter.

Kay gave Bonnie a thumbs up and said, “That’s a great idea, Bonnie!”

The latter frowned and said, “I’d much rather not be so harsh to the woman I once called my mother.”

Kay wanted to say something but was at a loss. She thought it must be depressing to have a terrible mother like Vera.

‘Bonnie might’ve moved on from them, but it’d be a lie to say she didn’t feel anything about her former family. Surely, there’s some lingering resentment for how they treated her. That’s right! Bonnie might been an awesome lady, but she still has feelings.‘

Meanwhile, Ivor’s heart throbbed in pain when he sensed the helplessness in Bonnie’s tone. He could not bear how soul–crushing it must be for her now. He held her hand to comfort her and turned her to look at him.

Chapter 252

Before Bonnie could speak, Ivor said, “Don’t say it. I’m not letting go of your hands.”

It was as if those words filled Bonnie’s heart with warmth. She felt a sense of security as she looked at his gritty expression. Since she had always been independent and tough, r she had never needed anyone to make her feel this safe.

It felt good to have someone to depend on.

Vera noticed Bonnie ignoring her. The former roared, “I won’t ask you again, Bonnie! Are you going to sell me the ginseng or not?! If you don’t, I’ll tell your countryfolk parents that you left a poor old lady to die!”

Although Bonnie rarely got angry, she was furious this time. “My parents raised, educated, and cared for me whenever I got sick. They’ve never failed to give me birthday presents every year. You’re no one to me.

“How dare you threaten to disturb their peace! If you so much as text my parents, I’ll destroy your entire family.”

“Hmplr, as if! Who do you think you are? Funny how you think you can destroy us.”

Suddenly, Xavier approached and said, “Just say the word, Bonnie. I’ll wipe the Shepards from Pyralis.”

Vera was shocked while Gresham stood up. He was terrified, hastily saying, “Please look past this, Xavier. My wife is just a commoner. She doesn’t consider things before speaking.”

Xavier retorted, “What are you talking about? She’s trying to buy my billion–dollar ginseng for a measly hundred grand. If anything, she’s trying to take advantage of me. How dare you say consider things before speaking?”

she does

“I’m sorry, Xavier. My wife has overstepped. She’ll apologize to you.” Gresham hurried over and urged his wife to apologize.

Vera dared not disobey. She said, “I’m sorry, Xavier. I didn’t mean to step out of line. I’m just worried about my mother. That’s why I offered to buy the ginseng.”

Xavier ignored the couple and asked Bonnie, “How do you want me to deal with them?”

Gresham and Vera’s hearts sank. At that moment, the Shepards were at Bonnie’s mercy. Meanwhile, the couple wondered why Xavier was respectful and protective of Bonnie.

They even speculated he was her sugar daddy.

“Wait, Bonnie sat close to Ivor and even held hands. Xavier must’ve seen it, but he did nothing about it. He can’t be Bonnie’s sugar daddy. So, why would Xavier side with her if there’s nothing between them?‘

Bonnie glared at her former parents, saying, “I never want to hear you two insulting my parents again. I’ll show you how merciless I can be if I ever find out you two disrespect or humiliate them.”

Vera and Gresham disdained Bonnie even more now. However, they could do nothing about it. Now that the incident had concluded, the auction ended with a bang for the time being.

Chapter 253

Heath stood onstage and introduced the final item for the night, “Allow me to introduce the last item up for bids tonight. We saved the best for last. Of course, everyone knows about the miracle doctor who saved the mother of the SR League’s owner.”

Gresham and Vera were excited as that was what they came for. They hoped to bid on this item and buy the miracle doctor’s services. Otherwise, Harold would not make it past the

next few days.

Heath continued, “The miracle doctor can bring the dead back to life. I know it sounds exaggerated, but it’s the most apt introduction for her. Although she saved the mother of the SR League’s owner, she also helped someone regain their ability to walk.

“The miracle doctor is giving treatment to Ivor’s grandmother. Ivor is the director of Knight Group. According to the latest information, Winnie, his grandmother, is doing much better now.

Although I’m grateful that no one in my family is ill, the miracle doctor said the

organizer could not partake in the auction. If not for that, I’d do my best to outbid you.

all.”

Everyone in the hall knew Heath wasn’t exaggerating to please the miracle doctor or raise the price of her services. After all, falling ill was an inevitable part of life. Securing the miracle doctor’s service meant saving their life whenever they needed it.

Bonnie looked at Heath and clicked her tongue. He would have also tried to bid for her service if he had not been the organizer. That was why she explicitly clarified that he

could not join the bid.

After all, the two had been buddies for years. If anyone in Heath’s family needed her help, she would do it for free.

“All right, let the bidding commence! We’ll start with fifty million.”

“Sixty million!”

“A hundred million!”

“They’re bidding so high already?!‘

Gresham and Vera grew pale. Although Harold was in a dire situation, the couple could not bid if the price went too high.

“A hundred and twenty million dollars!”

“Two hundred million dollars,” Xavier uttered his bid.

Bonnie turned and looked at him. He met her gaze and was stunned for a while. Then, he smiled and waved at her.

Meanwhile, Graham grew anxious. He stood up and exclaimed, “Three hundred million!”

‘Ugh, that’s a lot of money. My wallet’s bleeding!‘

A moment later, he turned and addressed everyone in the auction hall. He said tearfully, I’m the head of the Shepard family, and I ask that you all listen to my story! My father has a severe illness, and none of the doctors we hired could help him. They even told us to start planning his funeral.

“The miracle doctor is our last hope, everyone. I beg you to give us a chance this time. My family isn’t as prestigious as other esteemed guests here, but I ask that you believe me. In return, my family will help you if you need our help.”

He then bowed to everyone as his tears fell to the floor. Suddenly, Vera and Trina did the same thing.

“Please consider doing us this favor, everyone. My grandpa’s life is hanging by a threat as we speak.” Tears streamed down Trina’s cheeks. She was determined to be the most loving and thoughtful granddaughter. She knelt and clasped her hands, begging, ” Please!”

She heard everyone muttering about her. They showered her with compliments and approval. Indeed, she had killed two birds with one stone. Firstly, she won the favor of everyone in the high society circle.

Secondly, she could secure the miracle doctor’s service for her family. Once Harold’s health improved, he would love and dote on Trina even more. In turn, that would further consolidate Trina’s standing in the family.

Meanwhile, Bonnie watched indifferently. She admitted that her former sister’s shamelessness was nothing she could ever compare to. Otherwise, Trina could not have attained her status in the family.

Naturally, that did not mean Bonnie could not beat her former sister. Instead, the former did not want to use methods similar to Trina’s. After all, Bonnie did not want to become someone she despised.

Chapter 254

With Trina kneeling and begging, no one had the heart to bid against the Shepards for the miracle doctor’s service. Moreover, no one in their families needed urgent treatment. Ultimately, the bidders let the Shepards win.

Once the auction ended, Bonnie and Ivor left the hall together. The latter said, “Wait here while I bring the car around.”

“All right.”

Immediately after Ivor left, Trina pranced around Bonnie and said, “Did you see how well I did in there? What do you

think?”

Bonnie gave her a thumbs–up and said indifferently, “You’re the best at embodying the word shameless.”

Trina was furious. She wanted to boast about how great she was and hint at Bonnie that she would never let Bonnie rejoin the family.

“Hmph, you’re just jealous! The miracle doctor will save Grandpa tomorrow. He’ll feel indebted to me then. Imagine how gloriously he’ll reward me.” Trina held her chin up.

However, Bonnie laughed aloud, enraging Trina even more. “What are you laughing at?!”

“Oh, you’ll see.” Suddenly, Bonnie looked forward to treating Harold at the family’s

house tomorrow.

$

“You’re so full of it, Bonnie.” Trina hated that Bonnie could always brush off her tricks

and act like it was no big deal.

The latter did not want to waste any more time with Trina. Instead, Bonnie would save

her breath for when she saw the Shepards tomorrow.

Trina grew curious as she said, “Mom sent me to ask you how you got to know Xavier.”

Exasperated, Bonnie glanced at her and said, “Why does that concern any of you? You’re unworthy of asking me such a thing. You Shepards are strangers, as far as I know. Is that how you idiots behave? You nosy people must like asking strangers about their private lives.”

“Why, you little- Why won’t you just tell me?!”

Bonnie gave Trina a sidelong glance and said coldly, “I ain’t telling you shit. What are

you going to do about it?”

“Fine!” Trina stomped off.

Bonnie continued to wait, but Ivor never arrived.

“That’s strange. The parking lot isn’t that far. What’s taking him so long? I’ll walk over there and look for him.

When she arrived at the parking lot, she saw Rowena talking to Ivor. Rowena tried to dive into his arms several times, but he kept avoiding her.

“Stop avoiding me, Ivor. Am I not good enough for you? If so, how is Bonnie good enough for you? Why do you love her but not me?!” Rowena stared at Ivor tearfully.

However, there was nothing but coldness in Ivor’s eyes as he said, “Bonnie is better than you in every way. You don’t hold a candle to her.”

Chapter 255

Bonnie became misty–eyed when she heard Ivor’s words.

On the other hand, Rowena wept. “That hurt, Ivor. We’ve known each other since childhood. How could you choose someone you’ve only known for several months over r me?”

“What of it?” Ivor responded briefly.

Bonnie glanced at the weeping Rowena and pitied her. Even so, the former knew what kind of person Rowena was. Any pity would be a waste on Rowena.

“It’s all Bonnie’s fault! I’ll make her pay for this! She will return you to me!”

Suddenly, Bonnie revealed herself and said, “Return him to you? You don’t know your worth, Rowena. He has never belonged to you. You’re just bullshitting.”

Her words resembled salt in Rowena’s wounds. Bonnie then approached Ivor and stood beside him, the couple looking like a perfect match. Rowena could no longer take it and ran away, bawling.

Meanwhile, Ivor grew worried that Bonnie might misunderstand the situation. He hastily explained, “She kept bugging me and wouldn’t let me leave. I rejected her approach repeatedly, but she clung to me.‘

“Yeah, I can tell,” Bonnie responded. Then, she noticed Ivor staring at her. She asked, Why are you looking at me like that?”

Ivor frowned. “You don’t look even a little jealous.”

Bonnie realized he was dissatisfied because she was not jealous of Rowena.

‘Jeez, he’d get upset and jealous if any guy gets close to me. Now, he’s also upset that I’m not jealous of the ladies who get close to him.”

“Gosh, you’re such a hopeless romantic, Ivor.”

He smiled charmingly and pointed at himself, saying, “I’m only a hopeless romantic for you. No one else can bring out that side of me.”

Bonnie did not have a good comeback for that. She opened the car door and sat in the passenger seat before saying, “Come on, let’s go home. I have a busy day tomorrow.”

Ivor got into the car and asked curiously, “You don’t have school tomorrow. Why would

you say you have a busy day?”

He realized she would always leave the villa and not return until late at night. He had always been curious about it, wondering what Bonnie was doing outside all day. Still, he respected her privacy and did not send his men to follow her.

Bonnie squinted, saying, “I need to visit the Shepards‘ house.”

Ivor was about to drive off but stopped when he noticed what Bonnie said. He asked, ” Why would you do that? Do the Shepards have more bones to pick with you?”

He heard about the commotion when Bonnie went there to gather her belongings. That was why he was worried when she said she had to visit the Shepards.

“Not exactly.” Bonnie was not about to tell Ivor that she would be treating Harold. If she did, she would expose her identity as a miracle doctor.

On the other hand, Ivor was perceptive. From her response, he noticed she did not plan to tell him everything. He asked, “How about I send one of my men to accompany you? Hey, I can send Tim with you. You’re close with him, aren’t you?”

“N–Not him! I’ll go back there alone.” Bonnie knew Jim would insist on following her if he ever knew about it.

Ivor squinted and said, “Fine, but I want you to call me if you encounter any issues.

“Of course.”

The following morning, Ivor called Jim over. Meanwhile, Floyd pursed his lips when he saw Jim. The former had to remind himself that no one could know about Tim’s real identity. No one could learn that Tim was Jim.

Chapter 256

Ivor noticed Floyd’s strange behavior and asked, “Is there something on your mind?”

Meanwhile, Jim shot Floyd a look that said, ‘You’ll regret it if you open your big mouth.‘

Floyd met his imposing gaze and answered Ivor, “Oh, nothing.”

Ivor looked down as he fell into deep thought, but the other two could not read his expression. Then, he looked at Jim and said, “I have an important mission for you.”

“What is it?”

“Bonnie just left and is headed for the Shepards. I want you to keep her safe,” Ivor said while monitoring Jim’s reaction.

The latter tried to hide his concern when he heard the news. Although subtle, Ivor caught it and said, “Stop waiting around. I want you to go now.”

“Of course.” Jim nodded and left the villa.

Ivor then looked at Floyd, saying, “Are you sure you’re not hiding something from me?”

Floyd’s heart pounded. “What do you mean, Mr. Ivor?”

He tried to remain calm. Although keeping things from his boss was inappropriate, he felt better knowing Bonnie had his back. After all, Ivor would turn into a pussycat whenever Bonnie put down her foot.

Ivor stared at Floyd for a good while before finally looking away and saying, “Take me to the company.”

Floyd dared not sigh in relief because he did not want his boss to sense something unusual about his reaction. Hence, he only sighed internally.

‘Well, that was scary!‘

Harold lay in bed at the Shepards‘ villa. He looked shriveled and pale as death as his breathing became labored. It looked like he could pass away at any moment.

Meanwhile, Yolanda expressed her frustration with Gresham, “Where’s the miracle doctor you spent three million on?! Why isn’t she here yet?”

“Calm down, Mom. I’ll call her now.”

“What did you say?! Your dad can’t hold on any longer, yet you’re asking me to calm down. Are you eager for him to die so you can inherit his assets?” Yolanda trembled with

rage.

Gresham was shocked. “How can you say that, Mom? Do you honestly think I’d do something like that?”

Grant, Gresham’s younger brother, said, “Don’t talk to Mom like that. She has a point. Since you’re the family’s firstborn, it’s only natural that you’d want Dad to die so you can inherit all his assets. Then, you’ll kick Kaysen and me out of here.”

“That’s a load of crap!” Gresham roared.

His youngest brother, Kaysen, said, “Why are you getting mad, Gresham? Grant must be right about you.”

“Are you two idiots working together to tear me down?!”

“We would never. We’re just speaking the truth.”

“Yeah, what he said.”

“That’s enough!” Yolanda gripped her cane and said, “Why are you three fighting at a time like this?! Your dad’s life is on the line, and all you care about is arguing.”

She looked at Gresham and asked, “Did you call the miracle doctor yet? When is she coming?”

A moment later, he received a reply and told his mother, “She’s at the door. Let’s go and welcome her.”

Chapter 257

“Thank goodness she’s finally here. Your dad will live!” Yolanda said as she approached

the door.

“Mom, slow down. Your legs aren’t what they used to be.” Gresham and his brothers

darted after their mother.

When the group reached the door, they saw no signs of the miracle doctor. Instead, they saw Bonnie. Gresham sneered, asking, “What do you think you’re doing here?”

She was about to respond when Yolanda interjected, “Why do you care why she’s here? Where’s the miracle doctor?”

The older woman looked past Bonnie but saw no one there. Yolanda asked hastily, “I thought you said the miracle doctor is here. Where is she?”

“Hold on. I’ll ask someone.” Gresham pulled out his phone and called Jamari, the person overseeing the bidding affairs. Gresham said, “That can’t be. The miracle doctor texted me and said she’s here.”

After some thought, he asked, “Do you think she went to the wrong house?”

Jamari replied, “Hmm, I’ll hang up and call her.”

“Sure.”

When Jamari hung up, Bonnie said, “I’m here. Let me in.”

‘Say what now?‘

Everyone, especially Gresham, was stunned.

Ysable laughed, “Hahaha! Bonnie, it’s funny that you think you’re a miracle doctor.

That’s absurd.‘

Gresham and Vera reddened with fury. Though they had disowned Bonnie, they could not help but feel embarrassed by her actions.

“Shut your trap and leave, Bonnie.”

Bonnie looked at Gresham indifferently, asking, “Are you sure you won’t regret telling me to leave?”

“Whatever! Just get out of my face!” Every second he looked at her just made him angrier.

Meanwhile, Vera glared at Bonnie. The latter raised her brows and said leisurely, “You’ll all regret it soon enough.”

Bonnie turned and began walking away. Suddenly, she stopped and turned, adding, “I won’t refund your three million dollars, by the way. After all, I came as promised, but you denied my service.”

Ysabel snorted. “You’re committed to your act, huh? You must enjoy impersonating others. Do you even have any medical knowledge? Whatever, I bet you don’t even know how to check a pulse.”

Fernanda added to the mockery, “Although I’m no longer related to you, your actions still embarrass me. Thank goodness we disowned you. You’re so reckless that you might get yourself killed

someday. I hope you don’t drag us down with you when it happens.”

Yolanda glowered at Gresham and Vera. She said, “We shouldn’t have brought this country bumpkin her in the first place!”

The couple felt humiliated and glared at Bonnie.

‘Why the hell did she come here?! We’re getting scolded because of her.” Soon, the couple inevitably resorted to criticizing their estranged daughter.

Chapter 258

“You’re shameless for coming here after we disowned you. Why’d you come back?”

“As far as we’re concerned, you’re no longer our daughter. You can die for all we care. Stop coming here and disgracing us with your presence!”

Bonnie had long become numb to their harsh insults. At that moment, she was.unfazed. Suddenly, her phone vibrated.

Buzz, buzz, buzz.

She answered Jamari’s call, and he asked, “Did you go to the wrong address, miss? The Shepards said they didn’t see you.”

Bonnie looked at the family blankly and said, “I’m already here, but they’re in my way and not letting me in. Instead, they’re chasing me out as we speak.”

“What?! What’s wrong with these people? Give me a minute, miss. I’ll call them right now,” Jamari said, annoyed.

Ysabel rolled her eyes and said, “Grandma, she just can’t stop pretending. How did she become so shameless?”

Gresham noticed his mother’s grim expression and motioned to push Bonnie out of the property. However, he received a call from Jamari.

“Hmph!” Gresham glared at Bonnie and then answered his phone. Immediately after, his fury vanished. He smiled and asked Jamari on the phone. “So, what did the miracle doctor say?”

“Damn you, Gresham!” Jamari roared, “The miracle doctor is at your doorstep, yet you lied and said you don’t see her. You even tried to chase her away if that wasn’t bad enough. How dare you!

“You and your family begged everyone at the auction to let you win the bed. Everyone tried to help you and your family, even though you’re nothing in the high society circle. What do you think will happen if they find out you squandered their compassion?!”

Gresham was terrified and was even on the verge of tears. “I–I didn’t lie, Jamari! I don’t see the miracle doctor at my doorstep-”

He suddenly stopped speaking and whipped around to look at Bonnie, who had already reached the front gate and was walking

vide.

“You’re shameless for coming here after we disowned you. Why’d you come back?”

“As far as we’re concerned, you’re no longer our daughter. You can die for all we care. Stop coming here and disgracing us with your presence!”

Bonnie had long become numb to their harsh insults. At that moment, she was unfazed.

Gresham was terrified and was even on the verge of tears. “I–I didn’t lie, Jamari! I don’t see the miracle doctor at my doorstep-”

He suddenly stopped speaking and whipped around to look at Bonnie, who had already reached the front gate and was walking outside.

‘Are you kidding me?! How’s that possible? Bonnie’s only in her twenties. How can she be the miracle doctor who treated the mother of the SR League’s owner? Does that mean she’s also treating the grandmother of the Knight Group’s director?‘

Meanwhile, Jamari was outraged. “You’re still lying to me?! I just called the miracle doctor, and she said she was at your doorstep!”

That was when Gresham remembered Bonnie answering a call just now.

‘1–It must be a coincidence.‘

“Can you give me the miracle doctor’s name?”

Jamari barked, “Bonnie Shepard!”

“What?!” Gresham gasped as his widened eyes turned to Bonnie. His jaw dropped as he yelled, “Bonnie, come back!”

Bonnie did as he said and looked at him wryly. “What’s wrong? Are you regretting it already?”

Vera was dumbfounded, asking her husband, “Why’d you call her back?”

Yolanda added, “I told you Bonnie’s nothing but a troublemaker. If you take her back, I’ll disown you!”

Vera grew anxious. “You’re misunderstanding him, Mom. He would never take Bonnie back. I bet he yelled for her to return to tear her a new one.”

Yolanda felt much better after hearing that. “That’s more like it.

At that moment, Gresham sweated bullets while Bonnie grew impatient. “It looks like you guys don’t want Harold to get better.”

“Do I have to get someone to chase you out with a broom?!” Yolanda scolded.

Chapter 259

“Don’t do anything reckless, Mom!” Gresham stopped Yolanda.

“What do you think you’re doing? You’ve always had a soft spot for her!”

“That’s not it. Sh–she’s the miracle doctor!” Gresham turned red with

“Wh–what did you just say?” Yolanda was shocked.

Vera gulped, saying, “Stop joking around, honey.”

anger.

“Yeah, Dad! How is Bonnie the miracle doctor?” Trina would rather believe Santa Claus existed than believe her former sister was the celebrated miracle doctor.

Gresham’s brows furrowed as he said bitterly, “I’m having trouble believing she’s the miracle doctor, too. Believe me. I wish it were a joke, but it’s the truth.”

Everyone fell silent as they looked at Bonnie in shock. Suddenly, Vera shouted, “Hey, she’s about to get in her car!”

Yolanda chased after Bonnie with her cane, yelling, “Don’t leave, Bonnie! Come back!”

Even Vera and Gresham joined in chasing Bonnie.

Meanwhile, Trina felt troubled about the unexpected turn of events, thinking, ‘How did this happen? How can Bonnie be the miracle doctor?‘

Bonnie had just gotten into her car when they pulled her out. She said, “I thought you guys didn’t believe me. Didn’t you want to chase me out with a broom?”

Gresham grimaced. “Why didn’t you say anything earlier?”

Bonnie had waited until the Shepards disowned her before telling them she was the miracle doctor. The family wondered if she did that just to humiliate them.

Gresham’s question made Bonnie chuckle. Even so, she was unsure if she was laughing at herself or Gresham. She said, “Really? I recall telling you I had medical knowledge when someone here fractured their bone a long time ago. I offered to treat her, but what did you tell me?

“You accused me of lying and called me a troublemaker. You even grounded me and told me to reflect on my misbehavior. Also, Harold got sick a few years ago, and his health has been deteriorating since then.

“I told you I could help him, but you shamed me. Don’t say I never told you that I had medical knowledge. You just never listened.”

Gresham and Vera grew grim as Bonnie spoke. Indeed, they recalled everything she said. Bonnie was right. The family had criticized and distrusted her.

‘Are we guilty of distrusting her? Of course not. It’s no one’s fault. No would believe that such a young lady could possess such medical knowledge!‘

“I’ve had enough of this shit!” Yolanda glared at Bonnie and commanded, “If you’re the miracle doctor, do your job and start treating Harold now!”

Bonnie could not bear the family’s atrocious behavior. She said, “Here’s the thing, Yolanda. I’m no longer a family member, and sure as hell ain’t your granddaughter. Since I’m the heralded miracle doctor, every wealthy family in Pyralis competes for my

services.

“Are you sure you want to talk to me in that tone? You were the ones who chased me out just now. Do you think I want to treat anyone in your family? Keep dreaming!”

“You little shit!” Yolanda was at a loss and could not think of how to retort. Finally, she roared at Gresham and Vera, “Your daughter’s being a nasty brat!”

The couple was furious. One of them said, “Bonnie’s no longer our daughter!”

Even Yolanda was outraged, thinking, ‘We wouldn’t have needed to spend three million dollars if they hadn’t insisted on disowning Bonnie. Trina wouldn’t have needed to beg everyone at the auction, either.”

The older woman’s eyes were full of hatred as she glared at Bonnie.

Chapter 260

The family blamed everything on Bonnie. Still, Yolanda had to suppress her hatred for her husband’s sake. She asked, “What will it take for you to treat my husband, Bonnie?”

Bonnie said arrogantly, “After you chased me out just now,

what do you think it’ll take?”

Trina interjected, “Although you’re no longer one of us, my parents raised you. Their blood courses through your veins. Are you going to be cruel and make them kneel and beg?”

Yolanda was just as scheming as the rest of the family. Therefore, she knew what Trina was trying to do. The older woman glanced at Gresham and Vera, asking, “What are you waiting for? Kneel before Bonnie. She hates us now, and that’s the only way she’d treat Harold.”

Bonnie squinted, regarding Trina as a dead woman.

Meanwhile, Gresham and Vera gawked at Yolanda. The former asked, “What are you talking about, Mom? Why should we kneel before her? She’s our birth daughter, for crying out loud. Th–that’s just-”

Yolanda grunted, “What else can we do? Your dad will die if you don’t beg for Bonnie’s help. Some people are just cold–blooded and don’t care about their family. Are you one of those people?”

The older woman insinuated that Bonnie was one of those people. However, the older woman laid it thick so Bonnie could not have missed it.

“I beg of you, Bonnie–no, Sis. Don’t make Mom and Dad kneel. Please save Grandpa. I’ll do anything if that’s what it takes,” Trina said as tears rolled down her cheeks..

At that moment, Trina resembled a kind soul who looked out for her family, while Bonnie was a rotten soul who did not give a rat’s ass about them. The latter raised her brows and said, “If that’s the case, I want you to get on your knees and beg me.”

Trina was still crying at that moment. She froze when she heard her former sister’s

words.

Bonnie looked at her condescendingly and roared, “Do it! Aren’t you trying to be the good little girl?”

Gresham and Vera exchanged glances. They were not about to sacrifice their dignity for

anyone, not even their beloved daughter. Ultimately, letting Trina take the fall would be

better.

“We’re sorry you have to do that, Trina. We’ll compensate you after Bonnie treats your grandpa.”

Trina regretted sticking her neck out for her family when she realized they had weaseled their way out of kneeling. Meanwhile, Yolanda grew impatient when Trina froze. The former roared, “What are you waiting for, Trina?! Is your pride more important than your grandpa’s life?”

Trina was in a dilemma and had no way out. She gritted her teeth and fell to her knees with a thud.

‘Damn you, Bonnie! I’ll get revenge on you someday. I’ll make things much worse for

for putting me through this!”

Bonnie noticed Trina’s expression and knew what the latter was thinking. Bonnie said, Kneeling isn’t enough. I want you to slap yourself, too. Keep doing it until I’ve completed the treatment.”

“What?! That’s outrageous!” Trina growled.

Bonnie crouched beside her and whispered so only Trina could hear. “Watch your tongue. Your family’s watching. If you piss me off, I’ll refuse to treat Harold. Then, his death will be your fault. After that, your family will see you as nothing more than a miscreant.”
