Ch. 351..360
Chapter 351
That’s enough, tvor. Keep your eyes on the mad, or you’ll get us killed Bonnie withdrew her hond from Ivor’s
The latter said delightfully, “Don’t worry about it. I have steady hands.”
“What is that even supposed to mean?”
Bonnie felt he was insinuating something else, but she did not question him. If she knew him like she thought she did, he would turn it into a dirty joke.
Soon after, Ivor stopped at a traffic light and stared at Bonnie, asking. “Who do you think is better-looking? Ezequiel or me?”
His question reminded Bonnie of how much she complimented Ezequiel earlier. She even wondered if was getting jealous again.
“That’s a dumb question ” Bonnie was exasperated.
Even so, he pushed her for an answer, “Come on, I’m curious about it. Do you think I look more handsome than Ezequiel?”
Bonnie palmed her head. Her headache worsened as she looked at Ivor, who was staring at her and awalting her answer, “Damn it, Ivor. Have a little more faith in yourself. Ezequiel might be good–looking. but he isn’t as handsome as you are. Are you happy now?”
Ivor revealed a brilliant smile when he heard that. His smile was so charming that Bonnie’s heart almost skipped a beat.
Two weeks passed, and Bonnie had a peaceful life. Trina did not get in her way on campus, while the Rhodes and the Shepards did not overstep their boundaries
Bonnie had just finished her lunch when Orpheus called her, “What’s up, Bonwick? Do you remember ho your novel was adapted into a TV drama? I have some exciting news for you. I’ll be the male lead!”

His words surprised Bonnie. She said, “You’re the lead actor? The hero in my novel is a descendant of an angel and a demon. Heaven and Hell can’t tolerate his existence. Are you sure you can stay true to his character?
“He harbors resentment and wants revenge by wiping out all life in the three realms. However, his conscience won’t let him do something so atrocious. Can you portray such conflicting inner thoughts?”
“Why do you have such a low opinion of me, Bonwick? What makes you think I can’t pull it off? I’m the best actor, after all.” Orpheus felt slightly offended.
“I didn’t mean anything bad. None of the characters you played was this complex. There’s also your personality to consider. Also, you aren’t exactly"
Orpheus interjected, “Hold it right there! Do you honestly think I’m that ill–suited to play your character?”
“Um, well…” After some thought, she said, “Now that I think about it, your looks resemble my initial design for the main character.”
“Do you even have to consider that, Bonwick? Come on, you’re hurting me. I think I’m bleeding because of your sharp tongue.” Orpheus groaned. “The shooting starts in a few days. You’re coming because I want to prove how gifted I am.”
He was so persistent that Bonnie could not help but agree. She could only clear her schedule and go to the film set.
Three days passed in the blink of an eye. After breakfast, Bonnie went to the filming set. When she reached the entrance, the guard stopped her. The guard noticed how pretty she was and spoke to her politely.
Chapter 352
“Is there a reason you’re at this filming set, miss? I can’t just let any passerby in.”
I’m here for Orpheus. We’re buddies. He probably told you about my arrival, right?”
The guards exchanged glances and looked at Bonnie from head to toe.
‘Orpheus had an affair with someone recently. In this hor?”
Bonnie noticed their silence and frowned, saying, “Did he forget to tell you guys I’d be visiting? Give me a minute while I call him.”
One of the guards said, “That won’t be necessary, miss. Mr. Orpheus told us about you. You’re Ms. Bonnie, right?”
“Yeah, that’s me.” Bonnie nodded.
“This way, please.”
Once she turned a corner, the other guard made a call. “Hello, Ms. Tatiana, Ms. Bonnie has arrived,”
Tatiana was touching up her makeup when she received the call. Her expression turned cold as she asked indifferently. “Did you guys let her in?”
“I’m sorry, Ms. Tatiana. We had no choice since Mr. Orpheus told us to let her in.”
“Where’s she now?” She asked as she admired her manicured nails.
“She just came in a minute ago. If you come over now, you might bump into her.”
“What does she look like? Do you have a picture?”
“I didn’t have a chance to take her picture. Still, that should be the least of your worries. You’ll notice her as soon as you see her,” the guard said confidently.
“How are you so sure?”
The guard patted his chest and replied, “She’s so gorgeous that a sea of men would fall for her. Only a few from the entertainment industry can compare to Ms. Bonnie’s beauty. Also, she has an extraordinarily elegant demeanor.
“That makes her noticeable even if she blends into a crowd. That’s why I’m sure you’ll notice her
immediately.”
Tatiana lost interest in her fingernails, asking. “Is she that pretty? Do you think she’s prettier than me?”
The guard’s heart leaped into his throat. “That’s not possible, Ms. Tatiana! You’re the gorgeous rising star, after all. You also come from a prestigious family. Your parents and grandparents are outstanding painters. You have a natural artistic aura that Ms. Bonnie can never compare to.”
Although the guard said that, he inwardly cursed Tatiana.
‘There’s nothing great about a family of prestigious painters. I don’t know how the other Osbornes are, but Tatiana is an unreasonable and unforgiving pig–headed bully. She’s no stranger to using her status in the industry to put people down.”
Tatiana grunted and kicked her assistant, who was putting on her shoes for her. The former scolded, Why are you so rough?! Are you trying to break my ankles?!”
The assistant fell backward and covered her chest. Although she was in tremendous pain, she hastily ‘apologized, “I’m sorry, Ms. Tatiana. Please forgive me. I didn’t mean to do that. I’ll be more cautious next
time.”
“What are you waiting for? Hurry up and put on my shoes! Why did I hire you if you can’t do such a simple
task?”
The assistant was furious, thinking, ‘You’re being uncooperative by not lifting your damn leg. If you did, the shoes would’ve slipped right in.”
“Why are you looking at me like that?” Tatiana squinted at her assistant, questioning, “Do you have something to say?”
“I would never!”
“Of course not! Don’t forget that you’re no longer a Church family member. Your dad and his mistress have kicked you and your mom out of the house. Your mom even has a condition, and you need a large amount of money for her treatment.
“I pity you, Nancy. You helped me a lot before you got kicked out of your family. You supported me and gave me what I have today. Otherwise, I wouldn’t have pitied you and given you such a well– paying job as my assistant. You should be thankful to me. If I fire you, the hospital might stop your mom’s treatment.”
Chapter 353
Nancy felt beaten when she heard Tatiana’s words. The former lowered her head and did her job, putting on Tatiana’s shoes for her.
At that moment, Nancy resembled an obedient dog, pleasing Tatiana so much that she lifted her chin. The latter was once an insignificant actress. However, she buttered Nancy up to gain more resources.
Ultimately, Tatiana became successful and intended to show Nancy how it felt to be inferior.
“Your shoes are on now,” Nancy said as she kept her head down.
“Okay, let’s go. You’re coming with me to see just how pretty Bonnie is. I won’t let her seduce Orpheus. He’s mine!” Tatiana growled.
Bonnie was walking around the film set when Tatiana stopped her.
“Is there something I can help you with?” Bonnie could sense Tatiana was not there to make friends. After all, the latter looked at Bonnie disdainfully as if the latter were an insignificant pest.
“Are
you Bonnie?” Tatiana asked as she looked at the young lady from top to bottom. The former’s menacing expression became increasingly apparent.
It seemed the guard did not exaggerate Bonnie’s looks. She was so breathtakingly beautiful that Tatiana felt jealous.
“Do we know each other?” Bonnie frowned, her dislike for Tatiana growing.
“Hmph, it’s hard not to know you, Bonnie! You made huge messes several weeks ago. Not only did your family disown you, but you were also intimate with Orpheus and a male prostitute at a bar.”
Bonnie coldly responded, “What’s your beef with me?”
Tatiana stepped forward to intimidate Bonnie. However, the former immediately realized how much shorter she was than Bonnie and felt awkward.
Tatiana said, “I’m Orpheus’s girlfriend, so you’d be wise to keep your distance from him. Otherwise, I’ll show you what regret means.”
Bonnie raised her brow and smirked. “He doesn’t have a girlfriend, and you don’t deserve to be his. What’s your name? When I see him later, I’ll tell him to avoid repulsive women like you. Otherwise, he’ll regret it big time.”
“I dare you to repeat that!” Tatiana pointed at Bonnie.
‘I told this bitch to keep her distance from Orpheus, yet she’s threatening to tell him to avoid me!‘
Suddenly, Bonnie grabbed Tatiana’s finger, causing the latter to scream in pain, “Ow, that hurts! Let me go
now!”
“I’ll do it if you apologize to me.” Bonnie would not allow anyone to insult her and get away with it.
“Why should I apologize?! All of Arvandor knows you seduced Orpheus and slept with a male prostitute-
Bonnie tightened her grip on Tatiana’s finger.
“Gah! You’re about to break my finger, you bitch! Let go of me right now!” Tatiana screamed in pain as she grimaced.
agonizing
The onlookers were shocked. They did not expect the fragile–looking young lady to be so ruthless and
strong.
“Ow, ow, ow!” The pain was so unbearable that Tatiana screamed even louder, “You damn whore! Let me
-Ahh!”
Bonnie continued to tighten her grip while Tatiana began to sweat. Meanwhile, the crowd of onlookers grew. Even Orpheus heard the commotion and ran over. “Bonwick, what happened?!”
Before Bonnie could answer, Tatiana yelled, “Help me, Orpheus! This awful woman is trying to break my
finger!”
“I’m talking to Bonwick, not you!” Orpheus said, exasperated.
Chapter 354
Chapte 354
Tatiana gasped, her mouth ngape. Then, Orpheus looked at Bonnie again, asking, “What’s wrong? Did she
piss you off?”
Tatiana’s eyes widened as Orpheus added, “Bonwick, you didn’t have to deal with her yourself. You should’ve called me to do it for you. You don’t need to get your hands dirty.”
Tatiana was speechless.
Bonnie looked at Orpheus coldly, saying, “She insulted me.”
“What?! How dare she insult you!” Orpheus rolled up his sleeves, looking like he was about to smack
Tatiana to teach her a lesson.
The film director and producer were shocked. They ran over to stop him. “Calm down, Orpheus! Tatiana is
inexperienced and naive. You don’t need to get mad at her.”
“He’s right. If others find out you hit someone on the set, the media will slander you, regardless if you have a good reason for your actions. They might even say you’re using your status to hit someone. That’ll
affect your reputation and this entire production.”
However, no one could change Orpheus’s mind. He was furious, saying, “I’ve always treated Bonwick with
adoration and respect. Tatiana is disrespecting me by insulting Bonwick!”
Although angry and bitter, Tatiana feared Orpheus would smack her for real.
Meanwhile, the director and producer held Orpheus back with everything they had as the onlookers
recorded everything with their phones. The whole filming set was in disarray. A moment later, Bonnie
said, “Stop, Orpheus.”
“Oh, okay.”
Everyone present was astounded. After all, they knew no one could change Orpheus’s mind once he decided something. They never expected to see him treat Bonnie’s seemingly casual words so seriously.
Tatiana was already jealous of Bonnie. Now, the former even felt resentful.
Nancy held Tatiana and asked, “Is everything okay, Ms. Tatiana?”
“What kind of question is that?! Can’t you see the state I’m in now? Why would you ask me that? You must
be delighted to see me so miserable!”
“Th–that’s not it. I didn’t mean it that way.”
Suddenly, Tatiana shoved Nandry aside, causing the latter to stagger backward and crash into a vending machine. Tatiana watched as her assistant trip.
Nancy was about to crash into the machine. She would have gotten severely injured if she did not die from the accident. However, Bonnie caught Nancy and asked, “Are you okay?”
Nancy y was on the brink of tears after almost encountering a terrible accident. She looked at Bonnie
gratefully, saying, “Thanks. I owe you one.”
“It’s no trouble at all.”
Initially, Tatiana was concerned about accidentally killing her assistant. However, she was furious when she saw Bonnie and Nancy getting along.
“Nancy! You’re an ungrateful pest! I gave you a job when your dad disowned you! How dare you get along rival! Oh, I see what’s happening here. You two got disowned by your families. That must be why you relate to each other so well.”
with my
Bonnie looked at Nancy when she heard that.
“That’s not what’s happening. Tatiana. I’m just-”
Tatiana suddenly screamed bloody murder and interrupted Nancy.
Chapter 355
“How dare you address me so casually! You’re just a commoner, Nancy!”
Nancy pursed her lips and suppressed her emotions. However, Bonnie could no longer stand Tatiana’s pretentious behavior. “Commoner? So what if you’re an actress? Are you trying to say celebrities don’t have to respect others?
“Your parents gave you a name, so there’s nothing wrong with your assistant addressing you as such. You must be that arrogant for not allowing others to say your name.”
Tatiana retorted, This doesn’t concern you! You can’t boss me around just because Orpheus has your back!”
Bonnie was about to say something, but Nancy hastily stopped, saying, “Thank you, Ms. Bonnie. I’m fine.”
Since Nancy was okay with it, Bonnie could do nothing for her. After all, the latter disliked poking her nose in other people’s business. However, she noticed Tatiana saying something about Nancy sharing a similar fate. That was why Bonnie instinctively supported Nancy.
When Bonnie and Orpheus left, the former asked, “Who’s Nancy, and what’s her background?”
“I knew she’d pique your interest.” Orpheus knew Bonnie pretty well, Hence, he was willing to tell her everything he knew, “Have you heard about the Church family?”
“Do you mean the ones who own that huge esports business?” Bonnie guessed, How Orpheus spoke about the Church family showed Bonnie how potentially prominent and powerful they were.
“That’s right. The head of the family, Larry Church, had a mistress who gave birth to his child before he
married Nancy’s mother. Later, Nancy’s mom had a car accident and was admitted to a hospital.
“A few days later, Larry took in his mistress and the kid before announcing to the public that Nancy had
beat up her stepmother and stepsister. He then disowned Nancy and her mom.
Bonnie rubbed her chin and said thoughtfully, “Although I met Nancy once, I don’t think she’s that
ruthless.”
Orpheus shrugged helplessly, saying. “Do you think a wealthy family like that has a shortage of unpleasant things happening behind closed doors? Who knows the truth? Take you, for example. Outsiders claim you’re a good–for–nothing who doesn’t respect her parents
“However, you’re multi–talented and fiercely loyal to your loved ones. I’ll wait until this TV drama gets
traction before announcing on my Twitter account that you’re the novel’s author. The Shepards will regret disowning you big time.”
Bonnie said firmly. “That’s not a good idea. It’ll bring me trouble instead. I’m enjoying my peace right now. I can assure you the Shepards won’t regret disowning me.”
“Are you sure? Why wouldn’t they regret it? Your identity as the renowned Jane Austin is baffling enough. You’ve written many popular novels under that pen name, not to mention your other identities and
achievements!
Chapter 356
“You just prefer to keep a low profile, that’s all. If you had attended any award events, you could have been more popular than I am.”
“Drop it, Orpheus. I meant it when I said they wouldn’t regret it. They might even hate me more for keeping it from them. That’s the best–case scenario. The last thing I want is for them to beg me to use my skills to make money for them.”
Orpheus reddened with anger when he heard that. “Fine, I’ll keep my mouth shut! You shouldn’t return to them, either, Bonwick. You’re living the life now that you’re away from them.”
At that moment, he thought about Ivor’s menacing expression. Orpheus added, “Uh, yeah. Although you’re indeed living the life, it’s a tad lonely. Ivor is an excellent husband, Bonwick. I must say, you two are perfect for each other.”
“Hehehe…” Bonnie giggled.
Tatiana spiked a bottled beverage and handed it to Nancy, saying, “Give this to Bonnie and tell her I’m willing to make amends and befriend her.”
“I can’t do that. I know you’re mad at Bonnie because you think she has a crush on Orpheus. Still, he
clarified the whole thing on the internet. Bonnie is his nephew’s girlfriend or something. The truth is far from what you imagine.”
“You’re so naive and stupid, Nancy! No wonder your father’s mistress and her daughter got you kicked out of the family! Are you going to believe everything Orpheus says? It’s apparent he did it to defend that
bitch!”
Nancy highly disagreed with Tatiana, questioning. “Why would Orpheus do something like that?”
“Bonnie must’ve put a spell on Orpheus for him to do that. The same thing happened to your dad. He raised you for more than twenty years and then disowned you. His mistress and her daughter must’ve also put a spell on him.”
Nancy did not know how to respond to that.
Tatiana shoved the bottle into Nancy’s hands and said, “Ugh, enough wasting time. Hurry up and give this
drink to Bonnie!”
Nancy held the bottle, feeling like Tatiana had just handed her a bomb. Suddenly, the former let it go, and it fell to the ground. “N–No, I can’t do something like this. I just can’t!”
Tatiana threatened, “You might as well quit if you refuse to do it. Your mom won’t live any longer without money to continue her treatment. Then, you’ll only have yourself to blame for her death.”
Tears rolled down Nancy’s cheeks. She bit her lip and picked up the bottle before leaving to pass it to
Bonnie.
“Ms. Tatiana wanted me to give you this beverage as a peace offering. Ms. Bonnie. She wants to befriend
you.”
The director and producer were relieved to hear that. One said, “It’s better to make friends than enemies, Ms. Bonnie. Let’s forgive and forget, shall we?”
The other added, “That’s right. You two don’t know each other well, after all. There’s no need for things to
remain so awkward.”
Bonnie was not one to hold grudges. Hence, she nodded and motioned to grab the bottle. Suddenly, Nancy hesitated and withdrew her hand slightly.
“Ahem!” Tatiana cleared her throat, causing Nancy to shut her eyes and loosen her grip.
Bonnie looked at Nancy, who was acting strange and lowering her head. The former opened the bottle cap and sniffed it. Her expression grew grim, and she observed Nancy. The latter looked conflicted at
that moment
After some silence, Bonnie motioned to drink the beverage.
Suddenly, Nancy smacked the bottle from Bonnie’s hands and exclaimed, “No! Don’t drink it!”
“What’s going on here? Orpheus was puzzled as he looked at
Nancy.
“1–‘m sorry! 1-” Nancy choked up and slumped before Bonnie.
“What on earth is happening here?” Everyone present was bewildered.
The next moment, Bonnie sald dryly, “Someone spiked the drink.”
Nancy’s eyes widened as she looked up at Bonnie.
Tatiana also looked at Bonnie immediately. Although everyone regarded the latter strangely, she said, ” have some medical knowledge and can tell someone spiked the drink. I also know that it’s some sort of
aphrodisiac”
Everyone was shocked. If that were true, then whoever spiked the beverage would be despicable. After
all, it could lead Bonnie to do unspeakable things and ruin her life.
Tatiana marched over and screamed at Nancy, “I never expected you to be so cruel! What did Bonnie do to offend you? I can’t believe you spiked her drink with an aphrodisiac, no less!”
Chapter 357
“Wh–what?! No, it wasn’t me!” Nancy paled in terror.
“How dare you deny it. Everyone saw you handing Bonnie the drink. You can’t talk yourself out of this mess!” Tatiana roared.
Nancy began to cry, feeling sorry for herself. “You can’t be this unreasonable, Tatiana. You told me to give Ms. Bonnie this drink. You can’t just ”
“Although I told you to give her the drink, it was fine when I gave it to you. You must’ve spiked it after taking it from me!”
“How can you accuse me like that? I–I knew I shouldn’t have helped you, but I need the money for my mom’s treatment. She’ll be heartbroken if she finds out what I did. She’d much rather give up on her treatment than allow me to do something so outrageous.”
Nancy cried her eyes out as she swept her gaze across the place. She bit her lip and added, “Tatiana
ordered me to do it because she loves Orpheus. She’s jealous of Bonnie and wants to ruin her.”
“Damn you, Nancy! I can’t believe you’re trying to accuse me!” Tatiana motioned to slap her assistant.
However, Bonnie hastened over and grabbed Tatiana’s wrist.
The latter roared, “What do you think you’re doing?!”
Bonnie stared at Tatiana and said indifferently, “I won’t allow you to hit her.”
“Who the fuck do you think you are?! She’s my assistant, and there’s nothing wrong with me teaching her
a lesson!”
Bonnie’s expression grew grim. “According to Arvandor’s law, you can’t do that. Not unless you travel through time and live during the age of slavery. Back then, you could even kill your slave if you wanted to.
“However, your assistant isn’t your slave. On the contrary, you should respect her because she’s working
for you. Do you honestly think being wealthy means you’re better than everyone else? You can’t attack
people just because you want to.”
Most of the onlookers resonated with Bonnie’s words.
‘She’s right! We must treat everyone as equals, but the wealthy always think they’re better than everyone.
else!”
The wealthy have never shown us respect! They yell at us as if we have no feelings! They don’t shy away from cursing at us and our families! Still, we can do nothing about it because we need to put food on the table. We can only bear with it for our families‘ sake.”
Everyone looked at Bonnie, no longer regarding her as a good–for–nothing like the rumors suggested. Soon after, the crowd began to point at Tatiana and murmur about her abusing her status and mistreating her assistant.
As far as Tatiana was concerned, it was all Bonnie’s doing. The former would not have become the
onlooker’s enemy if Bonnie had not spoken up
Nancy glanced at Bonnie gratefully but also felt a pang of guilt.
“Bonnie’s such a nice person. I can’t believe I almost became an accomplice in ruining her life”
Tm sorry. Bonnie You have to believe I’m innocent.”
Bonnie podded solemnly saving. 1 believe you.
Nancy was stunned as her eyes widened in surprise
She believes me?
Although it was a beef response, it stirred something in Nancy’s heart. On the other hand, it pissed
Tatiana off. She questioned. “What do you mean by that, Bonnie? Are you trying to say I’m the culprit? Are you seriously accusing me of spiking your drink?
Chapter 358
Do you intend to tell me you didn’t do er Bonnie was almost sure Tatiana was the one who spiked the
“Stop accusing me if you don’t have proof! Why would a famous person like myself do something like that if I did, and word got out, it’d ruin my reputation. I wouldn’t undermine myself just to take you out. Do you think I’m that foolisher
intially, everyone suspected Tatiana. However, they could see her point
Really now? Bonnie squinted. Are you saying you were unaware that Nancy had given me a spiked
Txactly! I had nothing to do with it! Tatiana said matter of factly
Didn’t you touch the bottle and pike the drink? Do you dare to swear you didn’t do it?”
“Why wouldn’t 12 r’d swear it since I have a clear conscience Tatiana raised her hand and said, “I swear!
I?r’d
had nothing to do with the spiked drink. If I lie, God will crush my reputation, and I can never return to the entertainment industry
Everyone began to mutter amongst themselves again,
Tatiana sounds innocent now. Nobody would curse themselves like that
Now that I think about it you have a point. Tatiana might love Orpheus, but she’s a big name in the entertainment industry. She’s also smart. She’d never do something to jeopardize her career over a
nobody”
If that’s the case, does that mean Nancy did it? If she did, what would be her motive?”
Everyone turned to look at Nancy as she slumped to the ground, ashen. She thought there was nothing
she could do to clear her name.
Tatiana’s a massive celebrity, and she made such a solemn oath. No one will doubt her now. Meanwhile, I’m just a nobody who got disowned by my family. Who’d believe anything I say?
As Nancy wallowed in despair, Bonnie picked up the bottled beverage and looked at Orpheus. “Get me a
clean plastic bag”
“Sure thing, Bonwick! Hey, prop guy. We need a clean plastic bag”
Bonnie put the bottled beverage into the bag and passed it to Orpheus, saying, “Have someone identify
the fingerprints. Of course, Nancy’s and my fingerprints will be on it. Let’s see if there’s a third set of
prints”
Tatiana’s heart leaped into her throat as she looked at the bottle with terror.
Bonnie looked at her and said, “You said you had nothing to do with it, right? That should mean you never
even touched the bottle. I wonder what you’ll tell us if we find your fingerprints on the bottle
Tatiana gulped as she turned pale. “Well, perhaps I did touch it. M Maybe Nancy set me up by making me touch it? Abal I remember Nancy handing me the drink! Although I took it, I didn’t drink it.”
Ronnie sneered at Tatiana, spooking her and giving her a bad feeling about everything that had happened.
“Don’t you realize you’re contradicting yourself? You said you didn’t touch the bottle, but now you’re changing the story and saying you touched it.”
It just slipped my mind! It’s only natural to forget certain things. If I go against my oath, it’ll ruin my reputation, and I’ll have to leave the entertainment industry!”
Bonnie’s patience wore thin as she said, “I shouldn’t have wasted my breath with someone as shameless an you. I won’t wait for karma to come for you since it’d take too long. Instead, I’ll punish you right now. You’ll no longer act as the female lead of this TV drama.
“Hahaha!” Tatiana burst out laughing. “Who the hell do you think you are? Why should I give up that role just because you said so?”
Chapter 359
Bonnie remained firm, saying. “You’ll do as I say because I’m the novel’s author.”
What?! She’s Jane Austin? That’s not possible!
Everyone, including the director and producer, was shocked.
“D–Did you just say you’re the original author? Jane Austin is nothing but spectacular. She’s also one of the wealthiest authors in the industry. Are you sure you’re her?” Tatiana refused to believe it.
Suddenly, Orpheus interjected, 1 can prove she’s Jane Austin.”
“Orpheus, why would you lie for her?!” Tatiana roared, displeased.
Orpheus raised his hand and said solemnly, 17 swear to the Heavens that I’ll leave the entertainment
industry if I’m lying.”
His oath held more weight than Tatiana’s. After all, he had maintained an exceptional reputation in the industry. Moreover, he was upright and had never had an affair or tainted history. Orpheus was a perfect
actor and singer.
Now, everyone firmly believed Bonnie was Jane Austin.
“Oh my gosh! I’m a huge fan of Jane Austin! I’ve read all her novels from cover to cover and even read some of them three to four times!”
1 never thought she’d look so young and pretty. Jane Austin’s writings are even comparable to Emily Bronte’s. The main female character in this novel is multi–talented. Jane Austin has written many poems, too. I’m starstruck right now!”
“Wait a minute. I thought the Shepards disowned Bonnie because she’s a country bumpkin. They also hate her for being a good–for–nothing. I don’t get how they can call her that. If she’s useless, what does that make us? Are we worse than trash?”
“So, you’re saying the Shepards will regret disowning Bonnie when they learn she’s actually Jane Austin?” “Huh? I thought they cut ties with her some time ago. Ah, it’s pointless to talk about them. They have nothing to do with Jane anyway. She shouldn’t care whether or not the Shepards regret it.”
“I guess you have a point.”
As the crowd chattered, Tatiana gulped and pointed at Bonnie. Then, the former yelled, “So what if you’re Jane Austin?! You’re just a tiny novelist. You don’t have the right to fire me from the female lead role!”
latter did not have what it took to offend Bonnie raised her brows and stared at Tatiana, hinting that the her. Bonnie said, “Not only will I fire you from assuming the lead role of my novel, but I will also ban you from the entertainment industry. Mark my words. I will destroy your reputation.”
“You’re a nobody!” Tatiana roared even louder, “Do you know who invested in this TV drama ?! It’s none other than Sheffyn Entertainment. They’re the top entertainment company in Pyralis, and I’m one of their celebrities
“Sheffyn Entertainment, huh?”
“What are the chances?‘ Bonnie thought.
“Don’t you know them? Wow, you really are a country bumpkin who knows nothing. I can’t believe you’re not familiar with Sheffyn Entertainment.
“Here. I’il do you a favor by telling you about them. The Sheffyns own Sheffyn Entertainment.
They’re опе
of the wealthiest and most influential families in the city. Although the Blackburn family is the richest and commands most powers in Pyralis, the Sheffyns are a close second,”
She was amidst her speech when someone shouted, “Mr. Xavier is here!”
“Perfect timing!” Tatiana exclaimed joyfully. “Mr. Xavier, this bitch said she’d ban me from the
entertainment industry! Since I’m one of your celebrities, you have to help me.”
Immediately after, she glared at Bonnie tauntingly.
Chapter 360
“Although a great author like Jane might be able to pull some strings, she’s nothing before the big investor. She stands no chance against the Sheffyns,‘ Tatiana thought.
Suddenly. Xavier slapped her so hard that her face swelled almost instantly.
Tatiana cupped her cheek and looked at Xavier in disbelief.
“How dare you insult Bonniel Xavier was onraged. After getting on Bonnie’s wrong side from the street racing incident, he had to work his ass off to redeem himself. Additionally, one of his company’s hired celebrities was foolish enough to offend Bonnie,
“Since you’ve offended Bonnie, I’ll do as she said and ban you from the entertainment industry.
“W–Wait, no!” Tatiana shook her head in shock.
Xavier turned to the guards behind him and barked, “What are you waiting for?! Drag her out of the film set immediately!”
“Right away, Mr. Xavier.”
The guards approached and grabbed Tatiana by both her arms before dragging her out. She kicked and screamed, “No! Mr. Xavier, you can’t ban me from the industry!”
As her voice grew distant, Xavier turned to Bonnie and said, “I apologize for that. It seems one of my foolish celebrities has troubled you.”
“A celebrity like her just gives the whole industry a bad name. It’s a good thing we banned her from the industry,” Bonnie said indifferently.
“You’re right. Don’t worry about Tatiana. I won’t let her find her way back into the industry.”
Bonnie told Xavier and the director, “That reminds me. There might be some issues with the novel’s adaptation.”
The director respectfully said, “Please tell us your thoughts and opinions, Ms. Bonnie, We’ll work it out with the screenwriter.”
Bonnie took the script he held and said, “You removed one of the characters from the novel. Although she might seem like an insignificant character, she’ll advance the plot and become an integral part of its
climax.
“If she’s not on the TV adaptation, it’ll create a plot hole. Besides that, the lines you revised don’t reflect the male lead’s character. You’ll ruin his whole arc…”
“Oh, so that’s how it is. That explains why it felt weird to me when I got the script. Please, carry on, Ms. Bonnie. I must know if anything else contradicts the novel.” The director spoke to her like a student asking for a teacher’s pointers.
Xavier was shocked as he asked Orpheus, “I know the director very well. He’s as stubborn as a mule and won’t let me interfere even if I want to. I’m not exaggerating when I say he won’t compromise his work,
even if someone held a knife to his neck. I wonder why he’s so obedient toward Bonnie.”
Orpheus proudly said, “Of course he is! After all, Bonnie is the author of the novel that inspired this TV drama. Why wouldn’t the director listen to her?”
Xavier was puzzled. “A–Are you saying Bonnie is Jane Austin?!”
“In the flesh! Not many can hope to compare to Bonwick.” Orpheus lifted his chin proudly.
Although Xavier might have been at the top of the food chain and had experienced many things, it did not mean he was not shocked by this revelation. Not only was he astounded that Bonnie was Jane Austin, but she was also the nation’s leading researcher.
Xavier had met many highly talented people, but most were exceptional at only one thing. On the other hand, Bonnie found time to be the best street racer and novellst.
“Jeez, I can’t believe Bonnie has yet another identity. Does she have more identities than I know of?”
Meanwhile, Orpheus swelled with pride when he saw how surprised Xavier was. The former said, “That’s right! Bonwick is no ordinary woman. I can tell you another secret, but you can’t tell anyone about it.”
