Ch. 1931..1940
Love At The Wrong Table Chapter 1931-The news of Summerton Corporation’s temporary closure and the hasty departure of its leader from Onza had already reached Salem’s ears. Yet, he still wasn’t sure who was behind the attempts to eradicate the Summerton family.
“It must be Teddy Mole, chairman of the Chamber of Commerce!” Julian exclaimed, “We’re married to the Quillen family, and they run the Nuthana Chamber of Commerce. Teddy’s targeting them because he wants control of Nuthana, and he’s going after everyone tied to the Quillens.” Salem fixed Julian with an intense gaze. “Are you sure about this?” With a casual shrug, Julian replied, “I’d say I’m about percent sure. But I don’t have hard evidence. Believe it or not, that’s up to you.” He wasn’t much of a businessman, so he spoke carefreely and didn’t feel the need to speak with precision.
Oddly enough, Salem liked that about him. At least it meant he got to hear Shadows of the Past:
some unfiltered information.
“You’re right.” He nodded grimly. “It’s likely Teddy Mole. That man has been trying to wipe out our family for thirty years.” “What?” Julian’s eyes widened in surprise. “Why? Do we have some old grudge with him?” Ashton, too, was taken aback. It suddenly made sense why Teddy had been so relentless in his pursuit, chasing them even to the far reaches of Eldoria, determined to hunt them down.
Salem’s voice took on a grave tone. “That man may be our enemy, but he’s d formidable one. His ambitions are boundless. Our family’s arms business has www been a thorn in his side for years. So, he’s been looking to take us out for a long time.” AP ww There was no point in holding back now, especially with Julian–he was, after all, the heir to the Summerton family in Onza, so he had every right to know.
Shadows of the Past While processing this information, Jullan couldn’t help but ask, “Great–Grandpa, I understand why you’ve asked for our financial support, but why are we still stockpiling weapons when our family has retreated to the mountains? Are you planning to take over the world?” Before Salem could answer, his twenty–eighth wife chimed in with a soft laugh, “Oh, the Great Master doesn’t want to take over the world; he just wants to be a local emperor!” However, she quickly stifled her laughter under her husband’s stern gaze.
“Forgive me, I misspoke!” Salem took a few steps forward, his back to Julian, and spoke thoughtfully, “The times have changed. Anyone dreaming of ruling it now is chasing a fantasy. I saw that years ago. I didn’t want to be under anyone’s control, sol moved our family from Zovince to these mountains, where we could live freely.” He paused, then sighed heavily. “But freedom requires strength: We’ve trained fighters, but even that isn’t enough. We need modern weapons to Shadows of the Past defend ourselves, so we kept a branch of the Summerton family active in the outside world. But who would have thought that each generation would grow weaker? Our influence outside has dwindled, falling far short of what we’d hoped for.” Julian and his siblings knew this all too well. No one in the Summerton family had ever had a knack for business, and the fact they’d survived for thirty years was nothing short of miraculous.” That was nothing but a distant dream.
Ashton, his curiosity piqued, asked before Roselynn could, “So, what exactly is the grudge between our family and Teddy Mole?” Salem’s eyes grew distant. “It’s a long and complicated story,” he began.
“Simply put, the power struggle in Zovince is brutal and intricate. The Big Four are enemies and allies, depending on shared interests.” His explanation was vague, but then, with a sudden shift in his demeanor, he turned to face them. “The feud between the Tanner family and our Shadows of the Past Summerton family revolves around a priceless martial arts tome.” “Is it the Lannister family’s tome?” Julian interjected quickly.
Salem’s eyebrows shot up in surprise. “How do you know?” “On our way up, the Lannister family was already at the mountain, trying to get it back.” Julian shrugged.
“Oh, really?” Salem was taken aback, unaware of this. He had gone to bed early the previous night for health reasons, and no one had reported this to him yet.
“They’ll never make it up here,” Salem said confidently, a glint of pride in his voice. “No one who isn’t part of the Summerton family can reach this place.” Just as the words left his mouth, a commotion erupted outside.
Gary burst in, panic etched across his face, dropping to his knees as he reported breathlessly, “Great Master, something terrible has happened! Three Shadows of the Past top fighters from the Lannister family are demanding their Dragon Tome back. They’ve already broken through the seventh checkpoint!” “What?” Salem’s face tightened in shock, his pride visibly shaken. Tension crept into his voice. “Are the senior fighters from the Lannister family here? How could so many of our people fail to stop them?” “No, it’s not that!” Gary replied anxiously, “They’re not the senior ones–just three juniors. The leader, Gwain Lannister, is a prodigy who is truly one of a kind. He looks to be under thirty, but his martial prowess is unbelievable. Last night, none of our hundred men on the mountain could hold him back!”
Love At The Wrong Table Chapter 1932-“Is that so?” Salem’s eyes widened in disbelief.
He furrowed his brow and fell silent momentarily before letting out a soft grunt. “Most great fighters from thirty years ago have retired into obscurity But the word on the street is that the strongest in the martial arts world today are Gwain Lannister and the Northern Wolf Warrior. If what you say is true, then this young man must indeed possess exceptional talent.” “Great Master, what should we do? Do you want us to kill them all?” Gary asked, bowing with a gaze filled with murderous intent.
The Ancient Woods was the heart of the Summerton family’s power, a fortress filled with deadly traps and ingenious mechanisms. Three young Lannisters breaking in? Even if the entire Lannister clan were to launch an assault, the Summertons could easily wipe them out.
However, no one dared to act rashly without explicit orders from Salem.
The Dragon Tome in Question To everyone’s surprise, his response was unexpectedly calm.
“Let them come,” he said, his voice eerily calm. “After all, the Dragon Tome rightfully belongs to the Lannister family. It’s only fitting that it should return to its rightful owners.” Gary was stunned into silence. The Dragon Tome was legendary, the most coveted martial arts manual in existence. Every fighter in the world would give anything to possess it. Yet Salem was handing it over so easily.
“You may go now,” Salem said, dismissing Gary with a wave. He then turned to his twenty–eighth wife and instructed, “Bring me the scripture.” As she hurried to fulfill his request, Salem addressed Julian and his siblings, “You are of Summerton blood, even if you’re from an outer branch. Every family member has studied the Dragon Tome for thirty years, yet none have fully comprehended its secrets. Now, I’m entrusting it to you. Let’s see if you possess the talent to decipher it.” This unexpected turn of events took Julian aback. While he wasn’t entirely The Dragon Tome in Question sure of the Dragon Tome’s significance, he knew that it must be incredibly valuable if Gwain was willing to risk his life for it. Why would his great–grandfather casually hand it over to him, an outsider from a distant family branch?
Ashton, noticing her brother’s hesitation and fearing he might decline this golden opportunity, quickly interjected, “Thank you, Great–Grandpa! We promise to study it diligently!” Her mind was already racing with visions of power. She imagined herself becoming as formidable as Emmanuel. She dreamed of the day when that man would no longer dare look down on her. Revenge and glory–it would all come so easily if she mastered the ultimate martial arts.
“Very well. Take it with you,” Salem said as his twenty–eighth wife returned with a yellowed scripture. He handed it to Julian casually.
Julian accepted it without much thought, while Ashton was so caught up in her fantasies of power that she didn’t notice anything odd. Roselynn, however, had a keen eye and quickly realized something was off. The The Dragon Tome in Question scripture didn’t look ancient–it barely appeared to be thirty years old!
After handing over the Dragon Tome, Salem instructed them to leave via the back of the mountain.
Ashton, consumed with excitement and eager to start training, had completely forgotten the reason they had come in the first place. Meanwhile, though more cautious, Julian couldn’t think of a good reason to stay when Salém ordered them to leave.
“Julian, let me see that book,” Roselynn requested, her instincts telling her something was amiss. She wanted to inspect it before they even began their descent. She had a gut feeling that Salem had no intention of protecting them. He seemed to want to hurry them out of Ancient Woods.
“Here!” Julian handed the book over without a second thought. He would giv Roselynn anything she wanted–even his life if she asked.
She carefully examined the cover and back of the book. The material looked suspiciously modern for what was purported to be an ancient, legendary The Dragon Tome in Question martial arts scripture. When she opened it, her suspicions were confirmed–it was a printed version!
“Are you kidding me?” Julian exclaimed, his realization dawning. Did Great–Grandpa just play us for fools?” Ashton’s fantasies of power crumbled instantly, replaced by a surge of anger.
“This can’t be some cheap, fake martial arts manual, can it? Where’s the printing press for this thing?” If Roselynn hadn’t stopped her, she might have torn the book to pieces right then and there.
“Calm down,” Roselynn cautioned, her mind working to make sense of the situation. “We’ll take it back and have my younger brother examine it. He’ll know if it’s real or not.” She knew they couldn’t have come all this way for nothing. She suspected Salem was not treating them as true family members but as tools to use, but she had no proof.
As the trio grappled with their discovery, Gwain and his two companions had The Dragon Tome in Question already reached the mountain summit.
Love At The Wrong Table Chapter 1933-The three men couldn’t shake the strange feeling that had followed them since entering the grand Summerton Palace. It was a masterpiece of architecture, with intricate carvings and designs that hinted at hidden mechanisms and traps. Yet, as they ascended its vast halls, the only hindrances they faced were martial artists who tried and failed, to block their path. No hidden traps sprang into action, and no deadly mechanisms were activated.
The martial artists, though formidable in their own right, proved no match for Gwain. They had fought their way through the palace with ease and now stood before the imposing stone door on the top floor.
As the trio fumbled with the door, searching for a way to open it and confront the master of Summerton Palace, it suddenly swung open on its own.
“Mr. Gwain, be careful. This could be a trap,” Hank warned sharply, his voice low with caution.
Wyatt nodded, his face drawn with tension. “Yeah, something’s not right.
Powers of the Summerton Pa Everything’s been.. too easy.” Gwain’s brows furrowed as he contemplated the situation. After a brief moment of thought, he spoke with quiet confidence, “Perhaps we’ve overestimated the reclusive Summer family. Maybe this is all they have to offer.” Hank chuckled heartily, his laughter bouncing off the stone walls. “Haha, Mr.
Gwain, you’re right! For most people, getting this far would be impossible. But you’re too strong–nothing the Summer family can muster could stop you.” Wyatt agreed, though a nagging doubt lingered in his mind. Could it be that the Summer family had spent thirty years building this grand palace, only for it to amount to nothing more than a showpiece?
“Let’s go inside,” Gwain said, his voice firm as he led the way into the massive stone hall.
Though his confidence was unshaken, Gwain remained vigilant, his senses sharp for any sign of hidden dangers, be it traps or arrows that might strike The Hidden Powers of the Summerton Pa from the shadows. Yet, even as they reached the innermost chamber, not a single trap had been triggered.
“You’ve finally arrived.” The sudden rasp of an old voice filled the air, breaking the eerie silence.
Hank and Wyatt stiffened in surprise. Unlike Julian’s group, they were attuned to the immense power lurking behind that voice. They could sense the depth of the speaker’s internal energy, but even as the sound echoed around them, they could not pinpoint where the speaker was. It was the mark of a true master–a figure of immense strength, one who had retreated from the world for countless years.
Gwain’s keen eyes swept the room, and after a moment, they settled on an elderly man with a long white beard sitting in the shadows of the western corner. Though nothing was hiding him, the old man seemed to merge with the very stone walls, as though he were part of the palace itself, making him almost invisible.
The Hidden Powers of the Summerton Pa “Honored elder, I am Gwain. May I ask your esteemed name?” Gwain, always respectful in the face of true power, clasped his hands and bowed deeply.
“Hmm, so you’re Gwain?” The old man’s sharp gaze scanned Gwain from head to toe, his eyes glinting with approval as he observed the young man’s powerful aura.
“Indeed, refined as jade, with features like a painting. You are a peerless young master–your very presence embodies the regal grace of the Lannister family. Impressive. Very impressive.” The elder’s voice was both praise and recognition.
After his compliment, the old man introduced himself, “I am but a humble man known as Finley. There’s no need to remember the name.” “Finley?!” The three young men gasped in unison, their faces showing growing shock and disbelief.
Wyatt was the first to bow again, his voice filled with awe. “So, it’s you, Mr.
Ford… the Six Sun Hermit, the Grandmaster of Zovince from thirty years ago. I The Hidden Powers of the Summerton Pa apologize for my earlier rudeness.”
Hank quickly followed suit, bowing deeply. He knew full well that a Grandmaster from thirty years ago was leagues beyond the so–called champions of today. What passed for the pinnacle of martial arts today was mere child’s play compared to the battles of old. And who knew what unimaginable heights the Six Sun Hermit had reached in the past thirty years of isolation and cultivation?
“Hahaha, it’s good to know that some still remember my name. Very good, indeed,” Finley laughed heartily, his voice resonating through the vast chamber.
Gwain, however, was not swayed by the legendary reputation of the old master. He bowed once more and spoke with unflinching resolve. “Mr. Ford, we’ve come today not only to pay our respects to the Summer family but to reclaim something that rightfully belongs to the Lannister family.” “Oh? And what might that be?” Finley’s voice dripped with feigned ignorance, though his knowing eyes gleamed with anticipation.
The Hidden Powers of the Summerton Pa “The Dragon Tome,” Gwain declared, his voice unwavering. “If the Summer family returns it, the Lannister family will let bygones be bygones. If not, then I’m afraid we’ll have to resort to force.” “Hahahaha…” Finley threw his head back, his laughter booming throughout the chamber like thunder. After a long moment, he fixed Gwain with a steely gaze and said, “Young man of the Lannister family, such arrogance. Do you think you can defeat me?” “I wouldn’t dare,” Gwain replied with humility, though his eyes blazed with fierce determination. “But if you refuse to make things easier, then for the sake of my family’s honor, I will have no choice but to fight, even if it means shedding blood here today.” “Very well.” Finley’s expression hardened as he reached into his robes and produced a tattered scripture. Holding it up, he said, “If you can defeat me, the Dragon Tome will be yours. But if not, you will leave this place and never return.”
Love At The Wrong Table Chapter 1934-Upon encountering the ancient tome, the three young men quivered with anticipation.
“The Dragon Tome! It must be the legendary Dragon Tome of the Lannister family!” Wyatt exclaimed with fervor, his voice echoing with excitement.
Gwain, however, took a more measured approach, intentionally challenging Finley. “Finley, can we truly trust your word? Don’t back out and bring reinforcements if you lose.” “Hmph, I have served the old master for fifty years. My word is as solid as the decree of the Summerton Palace,” Finley declared with conviction before adding a stipulation. “If you win and take the scripture, I hope you will leave quietly and not cause further disturbances in Summerton Palace.” Hank and Wyatt exchanged wary glances, feeling that the process was The Victor Emerges suspiciously smooth.
Gwain dismissed their concerns, agreeing with unwavering resolve, “Fine. If I lose, I will never mention the Dragon Tome again. If fortune favors me and I win, I trust Mr. Ford will honor his promise.” “As an old man, I have always adhered to my word,” Finley replied with solemnity. “Now, will the three of you attack together, or shall you fight one by one?” You’re d*mn bold!
Hank and Wyatt couldn’t help but chuckle. It was the first time anyone had dared to speak to their leader, Mr. Gwain, in such a manner.
“No need.” Gwain stepped forward with an air of pride, his posture dignified. “I will face Mr. Ford’s skill alone. Should I be defeated, I will leave without protest.” “Good.” The Victor Emerges Finley rose, and with a swift motion of his hands, a powerful wave of energy surged through the air, stirring the surrounding winds into a tempestuous frenzy.
Hank and Wyatt watched in awe, recognizing that Finley’s inner strength far surpassed that of a mere martial master. He was undoubtedly a figure of immense renown in the martial world.
“Let us engage in a gentlemanly duel. Please, proceed.” Finley gestured with a graceful sweep of his hand.
“Please.” Though younger, Gwain’s pride prevented him from making the first move.
Since Finley held back, he would follow suit.
Having navigated countless battles, Finley had encountered many warriors.
He saw Gwain’s arrogance not as a unique trait but as a potential flaw in combat.
The Victor Emerges Seeing Gwain’s reluctance to initiate, Finley seized the chance and launched his assault.
Each strike from Finley was a blaze of intensity, each blow brimming with searing power, forcing Gwain into a defensive stance almost immediately.
Watching from the sidelines, Hank and Wyatt broke into a cold sweat on Gwain’s behalf.
Despite Finley’s relentless barrage of ten attacks, he failed to overcome Gwain. The momentum of the battle soon shifted.
Gwain found a crack in Finley’s defenses and delivered three consecutive strikes with precision.
To a battle–hardened veteran like Finley, Gwain’s techniques were not only a marvel to behold but also a formidable challenge. Each move was both elegant and lethal, with a deadly intent behind every strike.
“Well done.‘ The Vetor Emerges “Mr. Gwain is extraordinary.” Wyatt and Hank cheered with exhilaration as the battle swung in Gwain’s favor.
Yet, Finley was far from being an easy opponent. Even against Gwain, one of the most formidable martial artists of his generation, Finley remained steadfast through ten more exchanges, refusing to concede defeat.
The temple trembled under the force of their combat, its very foundation seeming to shudder with every blow.
At the critical moment, Finley unleashed his ultimate technique–The Third Style of the Six Sun Palm.
Unwilling to be overshadowed, Gwain countered with the Lannister family’s most lethal skill, the Merged Finger, aiming to overwhelm Finley in a head–on clash.
Finley, understanding the peril of a confrontation, chose to withdraw at the last moment, narrowly avoiding mutual destruction.
The Victor Emerges It was as if Gwain had anticipated this maneuver, swiftly seizing the opening to grip Finley’s throat with lightning speed.
“Well done.” “Mr. Gwain has emerged victorious.
Wyatt and Hank breathed a sigh of relief. For a moment, they had doubted whether Gwain could secure victory, but his innate talent had once again surpassed their expectations, turning a seemingly impossible battle into a resounding triumph.
What they failed to realize was that Finley had intentionally held back his final move. Had he not, he could have delivered a devastating blow before Gwain’s grip tightened.
“Mr. Ford, will you honor your promise now?” Gwain’s gaze was unwavering, fixed coldly on the elder.
He cared not for the reasons behind Finley’s restraint; to him, victory was the sole measure of success. The duel had been won, and that was final.
“Hahaha. Indeed, youth breeds genius.” Finley laughed heartily. “I concede dofoat. The tome is rightfully yours. Take it, for it belongs to your family.” The outcome had unfolded with unexpected smoothness.
Gwain took possession of the ancient tome, though his eyes remained vigilant with suspicion.
He meticulously examined the venerable text, but after a thorough inspection, he found no deceit or hidden flaws.
Love At The Wrong Table Chapter 1935-Wyatt stepped forward, joining his companion in examining the object with a scrutinizing gaze. The exact contents remained a mystery, but the appearance, texture, and what little they knew about it all seemed to align perfectly with their expectations.
“Mr. Gwain, this is indeed the Dragon Tome of our Lannister family,” Wyatt declared with unwavering certainty. “The material and the dragon emblazoned on the cover–there’s no mistaking its authenticity.” Gwain nodded, releasing his grip on the tome and turning to express his deep gratitude to Finley. “Mr. Ford, you truly live up to your reputation as a man of your word. I am genuinely impressed–truly impressed.” Finley waved his hand dismissively, a faint smile gracing his lips. “Mr. Lannister is a remarkable prodigy, achieving such unparalleled cultivation at such a young age. It is I who should be in awe of you. Now that you have reclaimed what rightfully belongs to your family, I must take my leave.” Unveiting the Secrets of the L “Wait.” Gwain, no stranger to intrigue, was not yet satisfied. He sought further clarification. “Mr. Ford, for a century, there have been rumors in the martial arts world that the Dragon Tome is the most revered martial arts technique of the Lannister family. Don’t you feel any attachment to it?” “Haha… while the technique is indeed illustrious if it cannot be mastered, it is merely a worthless tome,” Finley replied with a chuckle. “Rather than allowing it to languish and decay here within the Summerton family, it is far better to return it to its rightful place and let it shine within the Lannister family once more.” “None of you mastered it?” Hank’s disbelief was palpable. “In these past thirty years, with all the martial artists in your ancient forest, none succeeded?” “Indeed.” Unveiling the Secrets of the Lanniste Finley admitted with a rueful smile, “Although not every member of the Summerton family had the opportunity to study it, those who did myst included, along with some trusted confidants–all failed in their attempts, Years of effort bore no fruit.” Wyatt exchanged a thoughtful glance with Gwain, Gwain pondered this new revelation. If this was the case, it made sense that the Summerton family had chosen to return the tome now, Finley bowed once more and added, “Mr. Lannister, as you take the tome back today, please let go of the grievances from the past thirty years. The Summerton family and the Lannister family no longer share any ties.” Gwain offered a polite bow but chose to remain silent. He accepted the tome and, following Finley’s guidance, descended the mountain through a side gate.
“Is this what they call an unrivaled genius?” Unveiling the Secrets of the Lanniste Once the three had departed, Finley stroked his beard with a satisfied smile.
“Truly extraordinary. Mastery of a hundred schools, graceful and intricate techniques… Hmm, he is indeed a prodigy of the century.” With that, he resumed his cross–legged meditation, diving back into his intense practice.
About two hours later, another pair of young individuals–a man and a woman–arrived at the stone gate, only to clash with the guards of the stone hall.
“Let them through. Do not obstruct them.” With Stone’s command, the Summerton family’s guards stepped aside.
The brother and sister approached Finley directly.
“Oh, you discovered my presence so effortlessly?” Finley was mildly surprised. Gwain had taken a bit longer to notice him compared to the man now standing before him.
Unveiling the Secrets of the Lanniste “The senior’s cultivation is so profound, it’s as if you’ve merged with nature itself. I am truly in awe,” the older brother said respectfully, bowing.
“And who might you be?” Finley’s question was blunt.
“I am Xarri, and this is my younger sister, Quell. Mr. Ford, you must be the legendary Grandmaster of Zovince, Finley, correct?” Xarri’s words took Finley aback.
“Oh, you know me? And you’re not with the three individuals who were here just moments ago?” “Three individuals just now?” Quell asked, her surprise evident. “Were they also from the Lannister family?” “Indeed. That was none other than Gwain, the current number one in the world.” Unveiling the Secrets of the Lanniste Finley emphasized the words “number one in the world” with deliberate gravity,
Quell clenched her teeth, her eyes flashing with a trace of hatred. How could Gwain be considered number one in the world?
“So, you’re not affiliated with them?” Finley turned his attention back to Xarri. Your sister seems to harbor a deep resentment towards Gwain.” “That’s correct.” Xarri did not shy away from the truth. “We are the children of Victor. Gwain is the son of Eric. Fifteen years ago, Eric led a faction to kill our father. There’s no possibility of us aligning with Gwain.” “What?” Finley was stunned. He had known both Victor and Eric but never imagined such a tragic fratricide had occurred within the Lannister family.
“Ah, I see. Power often breeds tragedy, and even the greatest families are not immune to its curse.” After a contemplative sigh, Finley asked, “Then what brings you here today?”
Love At The Wrong Table Chapter 1936-Xarri requested, “I wish the hidden Summerton family would return the Dragon Tome to us. I need it to prove my late father’s innocence and give him justice.” it “Another person after the Dragon Tome, eh?” Finley didn’t reveal the Dragon Tome had been retrieved. He simply smiled and said, “Sure! Defeat me and I’ll tell you its whereabouts.” “Mr. Ford, I’ll fight you then.” Xarri wasn’t as proud as Gwain. Knowing the fight was inevitable, he lunged at Finley.
He gained the upper hand as he struck. Even though his moves weren’t as fancy as Gwain’s, they were practical. Those ordinary moves left the expected effect as Gwain’s fancy moves on Finley.
“That’s impressive!” Surprised, Finley struggled to defend himself.
Xarri also marveled at Finley’s strength. Judging from their surroundings, he Gwain is No Match for You was certain that Finley had fought somebody in a fierce battle earlier and was exhausted. Otherwise, he doubted he would have gained the advantage.
After approximately thirty exchanges, Finley decided to go all out. He was even more serious than when he fought Gwain earlier.
Despite exerting all his efforts, he finds it impossible for Xarri to be defeated in their fiftieth exchange.
“You’re an amazing fighter.” Finley had to compliment the young man. After that, he announced, “Kid, we should stop now. You’re a formidable opponent.
The tome is yours now.” Bang!
After exchanging another blow, the two retreated.
Quell was amazed. The hidden Summerton family is full of surprises! I thought Xarri was unbeatable, yet the old man and he were tied in the battle.
Gwain is No Match for You “The Lannister family is full of geniuses. You indeed live up to your title of the top martial arts family,” Finley chuckled before fishing out a scripture from his pocket and tossed it at Xarri, It looked exactly the same as the one before.
The siblings studied it for a while and came to the same conclusion as Gwain’s group. They believed it was the original scripture.
“Now that you have the scripture, please leave.” At that, the stone door on the other side of the hall opened. They must descend the mountain with a new path.
Despite Xarri’s wisdom, he couldn’t have known two groups had left with the scripture before him. He simply nodded at Finley and turned around to depart.
At that moment, Quell’s competitiveness prompted her to hang back and ask, “Mr. Ford, your comments earlier bothered me. Have you fought with Gwain before?” Gwain Is No Match for You “Yes,” Finley admitted with a smile.
“In that case, who is stronger? Gwain or Xarri?” She challenged him.
“You’ll have to find out the answer yourself. After learning your story, I’m sure you two cousins will have a showdown sooner or later!” Finley teased with a chuckle.
“Let’s go, Quell!” Xarri called out again.
She finally turned on her heel and followed him out the hall.
“Xarri, Gwain is no match for you,” she stated as the pair descended the mountain.
“What makes you think so?” he asked.
“First of all, he’s younger than you. Moreover, you have beaten him up once when you were kids.” She thought it was obvious.
Gwain Is No Match for You He smiled and shrugged off her comments. “I’m two years older than him, so it’s normal if he was weaker than me when we were young. Besides, I also noticed his talent back then. He shouldn’t be weaker than me,” “Still, he has never fought for survival on Dark Night Islands for years like you.” She attempted to convince him. “Also, he probably didn’t defeat the old man.
Otherwise, he would have taken the scripture with him and left us nothing.” Xarri cast her a casual smile. He agreed with her theory, but a strange feeling dwelled in his mind. It’s easier than I thought… After seeing off three groups of visitors, Finley remained in the stone hall to train.
The next day, his eyes snapped open as he sensed another group of visitors approaching.
There wasn’t anybody to stop the visitors today. The two halted right before the stone door.
Gwan is No Match for You It was none other than Emmanuel and Sage.
They took minimal effort to arrive at their destination. Xarri knew Emmanuel would come here in search of Roselynn, so he deliberately left marks along the way.
The newcomers discovered that the stone doors were opened, sharing Gwain’s group’s question. There are a lot of traps in the stone hall, but we avoided all of them on our way up here. Is that even possible?
Love At The Wrong Table Chapter 1937“Come in!” Emmanuel and Sage entered the stone hall at Finley’s invitation.
Unlike the two men from the Lannister family before, Emmanuel had mastered the Art of Adaptability. Therefore, he found Finley right away despite the old man’s attempt to minimize his presence.
Finley was stunned that he had been discovered. Then, he burst into laughter. “Things have gotten interesting lately. Everyone claims the martial arts world has reached its downfall, but the truth is, there are many geniuses among you kids.” It was his sincere opinion.
He took nearly a hundred years to become a fighter today. Yet, the three young men he had met in two days, who seemed to be around their late twenties, were as tough as him.
The Dragon Tome “Mr. Ford, I’m here to find a person.” Emmanuel was worried about Roselynn’s safety, so he skipped the pleasantries and cut to the chase. “Her name is Roselynn Lowe. She should have entered the Ancient Woods with the Summerton siblings. Do you know anything about it?” “Of course.” Finley was frank. “Il tell you their whereabouts with one condition.” “Which is?” Emmanuel’s eyes lit up with hope. He was eager to learn the answer.
‘T’ll tell you once you defeat me. As a reward, I’ll pass on the most powerful technique in the martial arts world to you,” Finley explained.
“Is it the Dragon Tome?” Emmanuel asked despite his shock.
“That’s right!” Finley chuckled heartily. “Countless martial artists dream of obtaining it. Even Teddy Tanner of Zovince dreams of getting it.” Teddy Tanner?” Emmanuel trembled. At first, he was disinterested in Finley’s reward, but the mention of the name piqued his interest.
Learning the technique will give me an advantage in dealing with Teddy one day.
“Very well. Please enlighten me, Mr. Ford Emmanuel didn’t hesitate and gestured for Finley to strike. Time is of the essence. I need to find Roselynn as fast as possible.
“Bring it on!” Finley, who lost to Xarri before due to not gaining the upper hand, decided to take the initiative in the fight As the two previous battles exhausted him, he jumped at Emmanuel with his ultimate move.
It was the Fourth Style of the Six Sun Palm.
Emmanuel recognized the power of his move as well as its flaw.
There shouldn’t be any flaw in the first place. Yet, the fatigue and depletion of internal strength slowed Finley down.
Emmanuel retreated. When he found an opening, he struck with the Northern The Dragon Tome as the Reward Region Reverse Dragon Palm.
Finley swore he saw a growling Dragon lunge at him. The force frightened him, causing him to cry out. “That’s impossible!” Their ultimate moves clashed with a bang. The momentum sent Emmanuel stumbling backward while Finley flew across the stone hall and crashed heavily into the wall.
Thanks to Finley’s physique, he regulated his breathing in time, or else he would have suffered internal injuries.
Even so, he had to adjust his breathing for a while before exclaiming, “Was that the Northern Region Reverse Dragon Palm? No wonder it has been called the top palm technique in the world!” “Thank you, Mr. Ford. Your technique is admirable as well.” Emmanuel thanks the older man for his compliment. He knew very well that he would have taken more than one move to take Finley out if Finley was in his prime.
The Dragon Tome as the Reward 82%
Finley laughed heartily. “Good, good! I’m enjoying the battle so far. I’m happy to see the martial arts world thriving with geniuses.” Emmanuel barely reacted to Finley’s words. He simply demanded, “Mr. Ford, it’s time to fulfill your promise.” “Catch it!” Finley casually threw another copy of the Dragon Tome to Emmanuel and revealed, “The person you are looking for left last night. You might catch up with them if you go down another path now.” “Thank you, Mr. Ford.” Emmanuel didn’t even spare a glance at the scripture.
He led Sage out the stone hall to descend the mountain.
“Emmanuel, I can’t shake the feeling that something is off.” As Emmanuel’s right–hand man, Sage reminded him as they traveled. “I have a strange feeling about this place. You didn’t ask for the Dragon Tome, so why did the old man give it to you?” Emmanuel shared the same thought. Yet, he couldn’t figure it out. Right now,
Love At The Wrong Table Chapter 1938-Emmanuel would only discuss the other matters ofter he found Roselynn’s group.
However, the Ancient Woods was a dangerous place, especially at night They departed one day later than Roselynn’s group. Even though they were experts in wilderness survival, it was like finding a needle in a haystack to locate Roselynn’s group in the mountain.
Little did they know, they took a different path down the mountain from Roselynn’s.
Finley couldn’t train in peace after having three fights. He suffered from internal injuries, so he must find Salem for remedy.
“What happened? Who injured you?” Salem was shocked to see Finley severely injured.
After all, Finley was known as the strongest fighter of the hidden Summerton
Calent Marrs Bloodshed family, who had reached the level of a Saint. He’s possibly one of the strongest in the martial arts world. Who managed to injure him?
“The Wolf Warrior of the North and the Lannister family of the South truly live up to their reputation. It seems that they will soon write their legends in the Chanaea martial arts world.” Finley’s face was filled with excitement and anticipation.
“Did you just mention the Northern Wolf Warrior?” The revelation surprised Salem.
“I believe so. Great Master, I have handed a copy of Dragon Tome to him. It’ll add more uncertainties to your plan and make it more dramatic.” Finley smiled.
“Well done!” Salem praised as a wicked smile formed on his lips.
Thirty years ago, the Lannister family and the Tanner family ganged up to make the Summerton family’s life in Zovince difficult. Enraged, they stole the Dragon Tome of the Lannister family and retreated to the Ancient Woods.
Salem Rants Bloodshed They would have loved to take control of Zovince if they were given the chance. Retreating to the Ancient Woods was their last resort.
As the head of the Summerton family, he still held a grudge against the two other families until today.
If Teddy is obsessed with getting the Dragon Tome while the Lannister family wants to retrieve it, why don’t we make them fight over it? They’ll be furious when they realize they have been fighting over a fake scripture all the time after much bloodshed. I can’t wait to see their faces. It’s killing two birds with one stone if they’re blinded by desire and forcibly practicing it, as it’ll cause a deviation. Only by stirring up chaos and war can we put the troops we have been nurturing for decades to good use.
They had been keeping a low profile for thirty years. All they were waiting for was an opportunity to strike from Ancient Woods into Zovince among the chaos.
They would become the most powerful figures in Chanaea when they took control of the capital.
Salem Wants Bloodshed Meanwhile, Roselynn’s group finally reached the foot of the mountain after two days.
“I need to rest now! I can’t go on anymore!” Julian collapsed on the ground, gasping for air. “I can barely feel my legs!” Roselynn was also at her limit.
Ashton was injured on her way up the mountain. Her condition was no better than theirs.
“Let’s take a break!” The group rested on the spot.
Roselynn took out the Dragon Tome to read in her spare time.
Although she wasn’t a martial artist, she had grown up in Hero’s Village. She had read some martial arts texts at Santiago’s place when she was young.
Therefore, the Dragon Tome wasn’t too abstruse for her to understand.
Her reading was quite smooth, as the content made sense to her. Still, she doubted such an important scripture was made of the material. Did he think we were some foolish kids?
“It’s like they’re giving us the scripture on a platter.” “I never thought the Dragon Tome would come so easily!” “Mr. Tanner will be pleased for sure!” Suddenly, a few voices mocked them.
The frightened group jumped to their feet. They could tell the newcomers weren’t Gwain’s group or even Gary.
The next moment, the Great Four Envoys appeared and surrounded them.
“W–Who are you?” Ashton asked in shock. She immediately pulled out her gun and pointed it at the group of four.
“Do you expect to take us out with a toy?” The sight didn’t intimidate Salem Wants Bloodshed Amethyst. She snickered and stepped toward Ashton.
“Come any closer, and I’ll shoot!” Ashton warned. As Amethyst ignored her warning, she fired.
Bang!
As a gunshot rang out, Amethyst dodged to the side unscathed. Her grin grew wider as she vanished into thin air and reappeared before Ashton.
Love At The Wrong Table Chapter 1939-Ashton wanted to fire again, but Amethyst hit her on the chest and sent her flying backward. Even her gun had been snatched away.
“Ashton!!” Ashton’s companions cried out in surprise and rushed to check on her.
Azure and Ash blocked their path.
“Hand over the Dragon Tome if you want to live.” Azure extended a hand and marched toward them.
Roselynn was clutching the Dragon Tome. She knew her group would be doomed if she handed it over to the envoys.
She made a decisive decision at that critical moment.
Before the envoys could react, she tore the scripture apart and threw it down the cliff.
The Dragon Tome is Destroyed “You b*stard!” Aora was furious. He rushed over to catch the fragments. Even though he was a powerful fighter, he couldn’t catch all of them.
“D*mn it! Kill that woman!” Amethyst barked an order.
Azure and Ash got into the ready stance. Their faces were twisted with murderous intentions.
Julian shook his head in defeat. What a fierce decision. She’d rather destroy the scripture than hand it to the criminals.
At that critical moment, Aora intercepted them. “Stop!” Roselynn sneered. “We have memorized the scripture. You can never recover its context if you kill us.” She’d rather survive than die miserably. She knew bluffing to the merciless envoys was the only way to survive.
Otherwise, she and her companions would be doomed if the Dragon Tome fell into their hands.
The Oregon Tome is Destroyed She had to ensure that her group survived until Emmanuel came to rescue them.
“You do have some tricks up your sleeve.” Aora looked at her with a hint of respect and coldly stated, “Still, you may end up in a fate worse than death.
Are you ready for the consequences?” She snorted and looked away without saying a word.
“Take them back!” Aora ordered. “Whether they have memorized the Dragon Tome or not doesn’t matter. By holding them hostages, considering their relationship with Emmanuel, it’ll benefit us in the future.” “Yes!” His three henchmen immediately agreed. They stepped forward to take one person each.
Meanwhile, the other side of the mountain rumbled. The ground shook, indicating a tremendous force.
Although Gwain’s group departed later than Roselynn’s group, they arrived at The Dragon Tome is Destroyed the foothills around the same time due to being trained fighters.
They didn’t run into each other earlier as they took different paths.
0 Taking advantage of the daylight, Gwain studied the Dragon Tome as well.
After memorizing it, he spent one hour practicing it.
But soon, he felt his breath quicken. He forced out the rage in his body with flushed cheeks and avoided the fate of going mad and blowing himself up.
“What’s wrong, Mr. Gwain?” His companions hurried to his side.
“It’s a fake Dragon Tome,” Gwain concluded furiously.
“What?” Hank added, “Could you have misunderstood it or practiced with the wrong method?” Wyatt retorted, “Mr. Gwain is the once–in–a–century genius in the martial arts world. He comprehends and learns the martial arts techniques easily. He won’t have misunderstood it.” 09:34 Mon, Oct 28 Chapter 1939 The Dragon Tome is Destroyed Hank let out a strained chuckle. “I was just kidding. Even the most experienced fighter makes mistakes.” Gwain glared at Hank, displeased with the comments. Lastly, he refrained from adding anything and fixed his gaze ahead.
The next moment, the Great Four Envoys appeared before them.
“Oh? Fancy to meet you here. Aren’t you guys Teddy’s lapdogs?” Hank mocked.
As a retainer of the Lannister family, he was quite familiar with the Tanner family and Teddy Tanner.
He knew Aora too. The other man was a renowned figure in the martial arts world before becoming the envoy. Nobody expected him to serve Teddy loyally.
Amethyst was the only woman among the four envoys. She was hot–tempered. When Hank insulted them, she immediately wanted to fight him.
The Dragon Tome le Destroyed Reaching out to stop her, Aora turned to Gwain. “Mr. Gwain, were you practicing the Dragon Tome?” “It’s none of your business.” Gwain rose to his feet sternly and tried to leave.
Although he looked down upon Teddy’s lapdogs, he didn’t want to fight them either.
Love At The Wrong Table Chapter 1940-Roselynn Fled Suddenly, the four envoys dispersed and circled Gwain's group.
On the other hand, Roselynn's group was left unattended.
However, Ashton was severely injured. Even if they wanted to escape, they couldn't get away.
"Mr. Gwain, Mr. Tanner has always wanted to study the Dragon Tome. Please hand it over!" Aora stated as he suddenly reached out and delivered a blow in the air. It hit Julian, who attempted to escape far away, in the leg. Julian screamed. He collapsed to the ground and clutched his broken leg, rolling in agony.
"Julian, what happened to you? Talk to me!"
Roselynn's eyes were filled with hurt and anger. Gritting her teeth, she vowed that she would make them pay when Emmanuel arrived.
"Mr. Gwain, what do you think about the blow?" Aora met Gwain's eyes and threatened.
Gwain, however, didn't take it seriously and sneered. "It's so-so. I'd be happy to give you some pointers if you want. Yet, you might get hurt or even die."
His fearlessness took Aora aback. Then, the man burst into laughter. "I've been waiting for a chance to fight you, Mr. Gwain. Now that the matter of Dragon Tome involves all of us, let's seize the perfect opportunity." At that, he waved his right hand, gesturing for his henchmen to pounce at Hank and Wyatt.
Gwain paid attention to Aora's movements. He was ready to fight the most invincible man from the West End.
Swish!
Aora was a dirty fighter. He struck at Gwain to gain the upper hand.
Anyone who had ever come across Aora before knew him as the principal guardian of the Five Poison Sect of the West End. Later, because he despised the sect, he established his sect. Still, sect development was difficult nowadays. In pursuit of wealth and glory, he joined forces with Teddy.
His moves were vicious and deadly. Each of them was capable of killing someone.
To his surprise, Gwain dodged his Poisonous Claw.
Moreover, Gwain counterattacked with a magnificent move called "Butterflies in Love with the Flowers". Aora received the blow with his palm, resulting in a draw between them.
As they separated, Aora sneered disdainfully. "So, the mighty Gwain Lannister is nothing special! You need to thank your amazing PR team for promoting you as the strongest fighter in the world when you're just a nobody." "Do you have a problem with that?" Being despised fueled Gwain's anger. He drew out his sword and unleashed a move called "Leaves in the Wind" to cut down the arrogant man.
As Aora slammed his palms forward, a red mist enveloped Gwain.
Despite still fighting the other envoys, Hank warned Gwain, "Watch out, Mr. Gwain! It's poisonous!"
Fortunately, Gwain's anger didn't blind his judgment. He drew back as told.
The two continued to exchange blows. For a moment, nobody was able to overpower their opponents.
"Go, Roselynn!"
As the fight broke out, Julian asked Roselynn to run. "Ashton and I are both injured. We can't escape in this state, but you can. You need to run while they're busy." "What about you if I run?" She refused to leave.
"You staying won't save us!" He shoved her in frustration, saying, "Only if you escape, can you contact Emmanuel and have him bring people to rescue us."
She hesitated.
He scolded, "Go, now! Staying here isn't heroic! It's the opposite! You're being foolish for not helping us escape!"
She could see the bigger picture. She gritted her teeth and promised, "Wait for me. I'll return with Emmanuel's help!" With that, she turned and ran.
As expected, the envoys and Gwain's group were in a difficult battle. They didn't pay attention to Roselynn's group at all.
Most importantly, Aora was a cunning man. He recognized the material of the scripture Roselynn had torn up. It seemed so new and clean that it didn't look like the original one. Therefore, he focused on snatching Gwain's copy. Roselynn ran without turning back. Soon, her figure disappeared into the dense forest.
Julian turned his attention to the fight. He sighed in relief when he found the two groups still in a fight.
"I'll lend you a hand, Aora." Amethyst suddenly withdrew from Wyatt and attacked Gwain from behind.
