Nothing To Give But My Heart Chapter 1001

“Why are you pulling me?” The big man over 1.8 meters tall was looking at Ye Moxuan and acting all coy.

“I haven’t bid farewell to my good friend yet. After today, I don’t know when I’ll get to see you again. That stinky old man at my house is keeping a close watch on me so it might be hard for me to visit you guys in China. Yuchi, even though we weren’t friends for long, don’t you feel even the least bit reluctant to leave?”

Ye Moxuan looked up at him with a bleak expression. “No. Get lost.”

“F*ck, what a ‘great’ friend you are! Let me tell you this, Yuchi. If it weren’t for Muzi, I would have ended this friendship for real!”

Han Muzi pulled on Ye Moxuan’s arm and smiled at George. “He’s just messing with you. He’ll always remember you. We’ll head off now then, George, Rory, Mr. Yu. I believe we’ll meet again very soon.”

“Hmph.” George looked away. Han Muzi saw that his eyes had turned red and she was moved. This guy, George, is a pretty decent person.

At that moment, Ye Moxuan seemed to have noticed as well. The cold hard lines on his face finally had a hint of movement as he looked to him and called, “George”.

George suddenly straightened up and turned his head around at Ye Moxuan in excitement. “Yeah?”

“Thank you for all this time.” Then, Ye Moxuan turned around and walked away without waiting for George’s reaction.

Han Muzi, who was waiting, smiled as she watched them, then quickly followed after him.

George froze in place. He thought he was hallucinating because, how else did he hear the words ‘thank you’ from Yuchi?

“Wake up.” George pulled himself back when he heard Rory’s voice. But the person who was standing in front of him earlier was now far away. George cursed and wanted to chase after them, but Rory held him back. “Where are you going? They’re about to go through security.”

He looked at her. “Did you hear that just now? Yuchi thanked me, didn’t he?”

She could not resist rolling her eyes at him and nodded. “Yes, he did. Why are you so excited?”

Of course he was excited. That apathetic Yuchi actually opened his mouth to thank him. I suddenly feel like all the time I spent with him was worth it! Wait, hold on… How did I forget the most important thing?

“Oh no. I came here today because I wanted to see Yuchi and Muzi’s child. But where did he go? How did I not even catch a glimpse of him?”

Just then, Rory turned to look in the direction they left in and realized that there was no silhouette of a child—just a few adults. “That’s weird. Wasn’t the child by their side earlier? How did he disappear all of a sudden?”

“Did you see him? How did I miss it?”

Rory nodded. “I saw him. He looks a lot like President Yuchi. How did you not see him?” It doesn’t make sense. She wrinkled her forehead as she looked at the crowd that was leaving and started to feel odd. There was no child next to them now, but she saw him earlier. What was happening? George is saying that he didn’t see him because he was probably only focused on Yuchi and did not pay any attention to that short and small cutie. But now, I’m thinking I was mistaken.

Yu Bo overheard their conversation and quickly remembered something. He looked in the direction that Han Muzi and Ye Moxuan left for a while before feeling like something was amiss. Suddenly, he exclaimed, “W-Where did Little Young Master go? He was right here a moment ago! Where is he now?”

George asked, “You saw him?”

Rory let out a sigh of relief—at least she was not the only one who saw him. If she was the only one who saw him while everyone else did not, then she would have been too scared to fall asleep that night.

“I saw him. I even personally handed him a gift that Old Master Yuchi prepared. How did he disappear in just a blink of an eye? This won’t do. I have to go and let them know!”

Just then, Rory pulled Yu Bo back. “Mr. Yu, don’t panic. I’m sure we’re not the only ones who realized. It’s possible that the child walked off ahead and is blocked by the others. Look, they don’t seem like they’ve noticed anything yet. It should be fine, right?”

“No, it’s not fine. This isn’t a small matter!” Yu Bo took out his phone and made a call as he headed in their direction.

George and Rory could not sit back and watch Yu Bo in his panicked state. They stepped forward and held him back. “Mr. Yu, it’s not good for you to chase after them in your old age. How about you wait here and I’ll go ask around?”

After pondering for a moment, Yu Bo nodded. “Okay. You have to hurry and make sure to ask concisely. It would be a disaster if this child really goes missing.”

“No problem.” George and Rory made eye contact then quickened their pace to catch up to them.

Yu Bo stood and waited anxiously where he was. He wanted to call Ye Moxuan but the line was busy. With George and Rory off to find them, his only option was to stay in place and wait. After some time, Yu Bo suddenly heard a child-like voice coming from behind him. “Uncle Yu.”

That voice sounded awfully familiar. Yu Bo turned back reflexively and found a small Little Bean standing in front of him.

“Little Bean?” Yu Bo was so surprised that his voice was slightly louder. “W-What are you doing here? Your daddy and mommy already went through security. Where did you run off to earlier? Alright, let’s go and not waste any more time here. I’ll take you to your parents immediately; otherwise, you’ll miss the flight.” He went up and grabbed Little Bean’s hand then hurriedly pulled him in a different direction. Unexpectedly, Little Bean stayed where he was and did not budge. “Uncle Yu, you’re going in the wrong direction. We should go that way.”

Worried that Yu Bo was unaware, Little Bean pointed outside the airport. Yu Bo was taken aback and did not understand what Little Bean meant. “Little Bean, you’re pointing the wrong way. That’s outside the airport. Security is that way.”

“Yeah, that’s right.” Little Bean nodded. “It’s outside the airport. Uncle Yu, I already put my luggage in your car.”

Yu Bo was stunned. Why does this feel even more off? Little Bean was always smart. But now he’s saying that he put his luggage in my car? W-What’s going on? Yu Bo stared blankly at Little Bean.

“I’ve decided to stay here and accompany Great-Grandfather, Uncle Yu!”

“What?”

“Mommy and Daddy also agreed. Let’s go home and see Great-Grandfather now.”

Yu Bo was completely dumbstruck by his words. His original plan was to send them off at the airport then go home after that. Who knew Little Bean would…

Nothing To Give But My Heart Chapter 1002

“Little Bean, I’m getting old here. Didn’t Old Master let you return with your daddy and mommy? Why are you staying back all of a sudden? Did you… make this decision on your own?”

Little Bean shook his head. “It was Mommy’s decision. Anyway, I’m not going back to China with them anymore. Do you not want to take me back, Uncle Yu?”

Yu Bo snapped out of it and quickly shook his head. “No, it’s not that. Old Master will be so happy to hear that you’re willing to stay. But…” He was a bit worried.

However, at that moment, Little Bean held his hand and headed out of the airport. As they got in the car, Yu Bo remembered that George and Rory had gone to look for Little Bean. He was about to give them a call when his phone rang.

Yu Bo answered, “Young Master George.”

“Mr. Yu? Where are you? I went to find Yuchi and Muzi but they said to just let him go back. What is happening right now? Where is the child?”

Yu Bo gave a brief explanation of the situation then said, “Young Master George, I have to take Little Young Master back to see Old Master now so I can’t talk for much longer. You guys should head home soon. Stay safe on the road.” Then, he ended the call.

“No, take me with—” Beep-beep. The call disconnected.

Yu Bo ended the call before George had the chance to finish. “Jeez, did he have to hang up so quickly? I still want to see what the child looks like.”

Rory, who was listening beside him tilted her head slightly. “He looks a lot like President Yuchi. They’re almost identical.”

“Identical?” At the thought of a five to six-year-old child with Yuchi’s face, George suddenly shuddered and changed his mind about the child being cute. How would a child look with such a cold and nasty face like Yuchi’s? He did not dare to imagine.

“Yes. He’s super cute!” Rory added just then.

George shuddered even more, then turned to look at her. “I get it. Stop talking about it now. Just the thought of the child looking exactly like Yuchi is scary. How would that child look like? I wanted to meet him before, but I’m slightly afraid now.” The child won’t look at me with that same cold gaze, will he?

“What do you mean? Do you know what you’re saying?” She glared at him, clearly displeased with the way he was talking about Little Bean.

“Am I wrong? Don’t you find Yuchi’s face scary? It’s so hard to imagine that this child looks like him.”

On the contrary, Rory found Little Bean adorable. Even though he looked exactly like Ye Moxuan, he was exceptionally bright and had a completely different presence from Ye Moxuan. Looking at him even made people want to ask how his features were so exquisite.

“You’re slandering our president. How does he look scary? He’s the man of every girl’s dream, unlike you…”

The last couple of words got to him and he refuted, “What are you saying, Rory? Do you think you’re making sense right now? Are you saying I’m not as good-looking as Yuchi? Please, I’m a hundred times better than him!”

She glanced at him and said bleakly, “Do you dare to say that in front of President Yuchi?”

George was dumbfounded.

“If you do that, then I’ll believe that you’re a hundred times more handsome than he is.”

He snickered. “Do you think I don’t have the guts to? It’s just that Yuchi is about to board the plane now and I can’t get past security. How can I tell him now?”

Upon hearing that, she handed him her phone. “That’s not a problem. If you can’t see him in person, then you can call him.”

George was rendered speechless. He looked at her fair and slender fingers wrapped around the phone and smirked. “Are you doing this on purpose, Rory? Did you forget who was the one who treated you to big feasts?”

At the mention of the feasts, the expression on her face changed and she quickly pulled her phone back. “What? No. How can President Yuchi be as handsome as you? Forget a hundred, you’re a thousand times better than him! The most handsome man in the world and the universe too!” Her flattery sounded unnatural and pretentious.

But when he saw her, she was looking at him with a face filled with sincerity. She might have exaggerated but did she mean it? Am I getting the wrong idea? Even so, he knew that the big feasts were the only reason she gave in. A look of disappointment flashed across his eyes and he reached up to poke her forehead once with his index finger. “Alright, you foodie. Do you call that flattery? It was a mess.”

“Ah!” Rory was looking at him intently when he poked her suddenly. She instinctively reached up to cover her forehead. Then, she quickly chased after him as he walked away. “Who said I was flattering you? I was only speaking the truth. It can’t get any truer than that.”

He did not hold back a laugh and teased, “If I invited you to another meal now, will you flatter me with more of the truth?”

She nodded firmly. “Of course!”

George was speechless. He felt stuck and did not know how to respond. Just how much does she like to eat? Despite eating so much, though, she still looked very skinny and malnourished.

“Let’s go then. Out of mercy today, I’ll take you to eat something delicious at a top-notch restaurant.”

Rory almost salivated at the sound of that but resisted as she wanted to uphold her image. She followed him to his car and sat in the passenger seat. After she buckled her seatbelt, she gazed intently at George who was in the driver’s seat. “I will work hard to earn a lot of money and treat you to a meal one day!”

Seeing her determined expression, he smirked and nodded his head. “Sounds good. I’ll wait for the day you become successful to have that meal.”

“Yes!”

At the Yuchi residence, the silhouette of an old and lonely man stood by the window. With a walking cane in one hand, he looked sullen and desolate from the back. Although he was looking out the window, he did not take in the view before him. His gaze was distant and he was not looking at anything in particular.

“They should have boarded the plane by now, right?” the old man mumbled after a long while in a depressed voice. Because he had stood for so long, his legs were giving out and he could not bear it any longer. He leaned on his walking cane as he headed toward the table.

As soon as he sat down, the housekeeper poured some tea for him. “Old Master, do not be too upset. Have a cup of tea to drink.”

Yuchi Jin looked at the cup of tea the housekeeper placed in front of him. It was his favorite, but for some reason, he did not feel like drinking it that day. He was even slightly agitated. “Take the tea away.”

The housekeeper felt confused. “Old Master?”

Yuchi Jin turned his head to her and the housekeeper quickly responded, “Right away, sir!”

Nothing To Give But My Heart Chapter 1003

The housekeeper took the tea away and left the room. The room then became quiet. Yuchi Jin gazed at the texture of the table cloth and let out a heavy sigh. When his great-grandson was still here a few days ago, the room was always lively and filled with the sounds of their laughter. Now that he was gone, the room felt cold and empty again. Just like how it was in the past as he spent countless days alone.

Oh, Yuchi Jin. You’re getting so old. You used to spend your days alone like this. Things are just going back to the way they were. What’s so hard about it? Indeed, it was hard for him to get used to the bitter cold again after the warmth he felt.

Yuchi Jin sighed continuously. The two housekeepers standing by the door looked at each other but were too scared to say anything. They were afraid of getting in trouble if Old Master Yuchi heard them and got mad. In moments like these, any person who was able to read a room knew better than to make Yuchi Jin mad.

Yuchi Jin did not know how long he sat for but his waist started to grow uncomfortable. “When you’re old, you really do become useless.” He sighed.

Just when he was about to get up, he suddenly heard a child’s voice. “Great-Grandfather!”

Yuchi Jin froze. He thought he was hallucinating. How else did he hear that cute little fellow’s voice? T-This is definitely a hallucination!

As he got up all the way, he heard the sound of footsteps running toward him from behind.

Thud, thud, thud.

Thud, thud, thud.

The footsteps closed in and stopped right behind him. Then, a child’s voice called out, “Great-Grandfather, I’m back!”

Yuchi Jin was in disbelief and froze for a few seconds before he pulled himself back together. He saw Little Bean standing right in front of him. He did not dare believe his eyes. He is supposed to be on the plane heading back home with his daddy and mommy. Why is he here now?

The both of them looked at each other for a few seconds. Then, Yuchi Jin just walked past Little Bean and went out. “Yu Bo, Yu Bo!” I’ve started hallucinating. I have to get Yu Bo to find me a doctor.

Little Bean thought Yuchi Jin would be pleased to see him but he was just disregarded. He tilted his small head from side to side. Is Great-Grandfather angry that I came back?

Little Bean hurriedly went after Yuchi Jin. “Great-Grandfather. Are you angry with me? I wanted to stay and accompany you.”

Thump.

The little fellow bumped his head against Yuchi Jin’s leg as the latter came to a halt. Yu Bo appeared at that moment and smiled. “Old Master.”

“W-What happened?” Yuchi Jin noticed his voice was shaking. “Did they board the plane?”

“Yes.” Yu Bo nodded. “They’ve boarded the plane.”

Yuchi Jin let out a sigh of relief. “That’s good.” But his eyes dimmed at the same time. Turns out it was a hallucination. I saw Little Bean come back even though Yu Bo already sent them off. When Little Bean bumped into his leg earlier, he assumed it was a hallucination.

“Old Master,” Yu Bo called but was slightly hesitant. “Young Lady Ye informed me that Little Bean will stay here with you so I just brought him back. I hope you won’t blame me for making that decision on my own.”

Yuchi Jin’s eyes widened. He almost did not want to believe it. He mumbled, “What did you say? So everything that happened just now wasn’t my hallucination?” Little Bean was back? He didn’t board the plane?

Yu Bo thought it was strange that Yuchi Jin did not acknowledge Little Bean earlier but now that he knew the reason, he could not hold back his laughter. “Old Master, how is this a hallucination? Little Bean is standing right behind you.”

At this moment, Little Bean’s sorrowful voice came from behind. “Do you not like me anymore, Great-Grandfather?”

Yuchi Jin was speechless. How is that possible? How could I dislike my precious and sweet great-grandson? That will never happen in a lifetime! He immediately turned around and bent down to hug him while he explained anxiously, “Don’t misunderstand, Little Bean. How can I dislike you? I just thought you boarded the plane already and did not expect to see you come back!”

Little Bean still looked sad. “But you didn’t look happy at all when you saw me earlier.”

“I’m happy! I’m the happiest person right now. But why didn’t you board the plane? I thought you were going to go back with your daddy and mommy? Why are you…”

Little Bean grinned and showed a perfect row of teeth. “Mommy told me that Great-Grandfather is lonely here so she let me stay back to keep you company! She and Daddy are going to think of a solution and then come back for us as well!”

There she goes again. Yuchi Jin felt distressed. He did not think that his granddaughter-in-law would be so understanding of his pain. But the more she did these things for him, the more he thought of the things he did to her in the past and felt ashamed.

“Did your Daddy and Mommy talk about this?”

Little Bean nodded his head firmly then reached forward to pinch Yuchi Jin’s face. “Will you go back with us when the time comes, Great-Grandfather?”

Go back with them? Yuchi Jin was slightly ecstatic. It was his lifelong wish to be able to go home with his children and be with everyone again in a lively atmosphere. But if I just leave like this, what will happen to the Yuchi Group? What will I do then? I wanted to give everything to Ye Moxuan but I don’t know if he’ll want it… Should I give it to Song An? But Song An would probably roll her eyes at me. ‘Just give it to anyone you want. Do you think I care about your rotten company?’ At the thought of that, his head started to hurt. This is giving me such a headache!

“Let’s talk about this later. Since you’re here to stay, I’ll take you out to play today. How’s that?”

Little Bean titled his head then nodded. “Okay!”

After a flight that was over ten hours long, Han Muzi did not feel so good anymore. It might have been because she was pregnant. When she got off the plane, her face was pale. She did not have a bite to eat on the plane either. Even though Ye Moxuan took good care of her, she still felt unwell.

Once they got off the plane and she sat on a reclining chair in the lounge, she started to feel the tension leave her body.

“Are you okay, Muzi? Do you feel a little better?”

Yan squatted down in front of her and handed her a cup of warm water. “Here, have some water.”

Nothing To Give But My Heart Chapter 1004

“Thank you.” Han Muzi took the cup of warm water and drank a few sips.

The inside of the airport indicated to her that she was back in China. When she was overseas, all the signs and symbols were written in English. Although she did not go away for long this time, it felt to her like it had been a long time since she last came back.

“What happened this time? You didn’t have such a severe reaction the last time we sat on a plane.” Yan was heartbroken to see her like that. Her eyes were filled with worry as she looked at Han Muzi.

On the other hand, Ye Moxuan sat beside her and maintained his composure while he reached over to comb the loose strands of hair around her face. Then, he took off his jacket and draped it over her.

Feeling touched, Han Muzi turned to him and smiled before answering Yan’s question, “Yeah, I was fine before. But I felt so unwell this time all of a sudden. Perhaps it’s the baby.”

Cradling her small belly, something felt different to her. She figured it had to do with the unstable state her fetus was in. Ye Moxuan frowned. “Let’s go get something to eat first, then go to the hospital for a checkup.”

“It’s fine.” She refused. “I’m a lot better now. Just starving.”

Once everyone gathered, they headed out of the airport and picked a restaurant. Han Muzi drank a whole bowl of hot soup before her body started to feel better. But before she knew it, her eyelids started to feel heavy and she struggled to keep them open.

At that moment, Ye Moxuan asked from beside her, “Did you tell your brother you were coming back?”

My brother? She suddenly came around, “Oh no! I didn’t plan on telling him until we settled down since things are quite busy at his company lately, but I completely forgot about it.”

“In that case, let’s contact him after we settle down.” Ye Moxuan headed out to pay the bill. When he came back, Han Muzi had fallen asleep on the table.

Yan whispered, “Young Master Ye, Muzi said she was very sleepy and fell asleep before I could say anything to her. How about…”

However, she took back those last few words as she saw him lift Han Muzi and carry her in his arms. Then, he looked at Yan.

Yan instantly responded, “Don’t worry, Young Master Ye. You should bring Muzi back to rest first. We will go home after we’re done eating.” After all, I’m not a pregnant woman so I can bear it even if I’m tired.

Ye Moxuan pursed his lips and nodded. He said placidly, “Have Xiao Su take you home if it gets too late.”

“Okay,” she answered automatically. But later, that response did not sound quite right to her. Why would I have Xiao Su take me home? I can just take a taxi.

After Ye Moxuan took Han Muzi away, only Xiao Su and Yan were left at the table. Yan was getting full. After a minute or two, she put down her chopsticks. “I’m done eating. I’m going to head home first so you can take your time.” Then, she got up swiftly and pulled her luggage out with her.

At that moment, Xiao Su also stood up. “I’ll send you home.”

“N-No!” Yan waved her hand adamantly. “You don’t have to. I can go home myself.”

Xiao Su frowned. “Yan, are you avoiding me?”

Yan did not respond. Doesn’t he know that some questions are not meant to be asked? Nonetheless, she gave an insincere smile and denied, “No. How could I? Why would I even want to avoid you?”

He took a few steps closer to her and his masculinity enveloped her. He looked down at her fair and small face. “Exactly. That’s what I want to know too.”

When he came so close to her all of a sudden, she started to feel nervous and instinctively took a step back. “Are you crazy? Why would I want to avoid you?”

“Let me send you home, then.”

Yan was speechless. So he just wants to send me home?

“Let’s go,” he said as he took her luggage and walked forward. Yan snapped out of it and quickly followed after him. Xiao Su was a man. Even with two pieces of luggage in his hand, it did not tire him and he was even walking pretty fast. Yan had to jog to catch up to him. When they finally got outside, she yelled, “Xiao Su! Stop right there!”

He stopped walking and turned around to look at her curiously.

“I don’t need you to send me home!” She panted as she walked over. Taking her luggage back from him, she went on, “I have my own hands and feet. Transportation is so convenient nowadays; I just have to take a taxi to get home. Why do you need to send me home? Besides, I feel a lot more comfortable going back on my own. I don’t have to bother you.”

“It’s not a bother to me,” he said in a low voice.

Yan said back loudly, “But I don’t want to get caught up with you!”

Xiao Su was stunned.

“Do you understand what I’m saying? My feelings are a mess now and I don’t feel good. I just want to take time now to recalibrate myself. I hope you can stay a bit further away from me. We’re just… friends.”

Just friends… Those were just two words but they plunged him into an abyss. On that cold winter day, it felt like someone had poured cold water on his head and he was frozen to the core.

Seeing the expression on his face, Yan knew her words were too harsh. But, she felt like if she was not firm with him, he might not have understood, so she did not regret it one bit. “Do you understand what I said?”

He pulled himself back and smiled faintly. “Of course I understand. Still, let me send you home. Let it be the last time before you sort out your feelings.”

“But I just said—”

“You said these things before when we were overseas, though not exactly in the same way but I got your point. Unless you think I’m that kind of shameless person who only knows how to take advantage of people?”

“That’s not what I meant.”

“Then why are you avoiding me? Even if it wasn’t you today, if it’s another female that I work with, I’ll still send her home. This was also Young Master Ye’s order so that means it’s part of my job.”

For some reason, she felt like he was saying that to reassure her. After they were silent for a moment, Yan finally nodded her head. “Fine. Do what you want.”

Alas, he brought her home to her doorstep.

“Thank you for driving me home today. I won’t keep you any longer. Stay safe on your way home. Goodbye.” Yan was not being rude, but she had no intention of welcoming him into her home that day. She opened the door and pulled her luggage in, then closed the door again. Once the door shut, she leaned against it and closed her eyes.

Taking her phone out, she opened the camera album and found Han Qing’s picture. Her fair and beautiful finger gently traced over his manly features, then she pressed the photo to her lips. “Han Qing, I’m home.”

Nothing To Give But My Heart Chapter 1005

Not knowing how long she had slept, Han Muzi rolled over and slowly opened her eyes. The scenery that entered her vision was at once both familiar yet unfamiliar, and staring at it left her slightly confused. Having just woken up, her brain was still unable to process what she was looking at. After a while, her consciousness seemed to slowly return to her; she sat up and glanced around at her surroundings.

The familiar yet unfamiliar feeling she got previously was because it had been a long time since she had been here, but she had previously lived here on her own for a long time. This was the room Ye Moxuan and her lived in. After he had gotten into the accident, she had lived here on her own while she fought to maintain the major controlling interest in the company in his stead.

I can’t believe it… I’m back here again. Although the time in between had not been that long, to her, it felt like it was an entire lifetime.

She looked around for a while, and couldn’t help letting out a sigh from deep within her throat. It was fine before she sighed, but the moment she sighed, she could feel that her throat was dry and irritated—as if she hadn’t had water in a long while. Furrowing her brows, she ruminated over the events from before.

Her flight had lasted for more than ten hours. However, it had been extremely uncomfortable on the plane. Even while sleeping, she was constantly in a semiconscious state, so she had barely gotten two hours of actual sleep throughout the entire flight. After getting out of the car and eating, she had fallen asleep out of exhaustion. She didn’t remember anything else after that. Looking back on it now, she didn’t even drink any water after eating, much less brushed her teeth.

The realization filled her with horror. She hastily rolled out of bed, tied up her long hair, and entered the bathroom to brush her teeth. I wonder how long I’ve been asleep. At that time, I was simply far too tired. If this was before I got pregnant, I wouldn’t have had trouble pulling through. Sigh.

After brushing her teeth, Han Muzi finally felt like her breath had gotten fresher. She washed her face, then left the room.

“You’ve woken up, Young Lady Ye.” A servant’s voice sounded from the side, and hurriedly continued, “Young Master Ye has asked us to prepare breakfast for you, Young Lady Ye.”

“Alright. Where is he?” she asked in return.

“Assistant Xiao came over early in the morning looking for Young Master Ye, and they left for the company together. Furthermore, Young Master Ye told me to let you know that if you’re tired, you shouldn’t wait for him. You need to get enough rest.”

I see. He went back to work. The two of them had just returned to the country; aren’t they jet-lagged? However, they had been abroad for far too long. Thus, there had been no one around to take care of the company’s affairs. Previously, she had taken care of it alone with Xiao Su assisting her. Later on, she had left the country, and everything company-related had fallen onto the shoulders of Xiao Su.

After all, Xiao Su, who had been by Ye Moxuan’s side for so many years, could handle the company’s affairs. Besides, he used to be Ye Moxuan’s right-hand man, so he has dealt with various major shareholders, directors, senior management, and middle management before. Therefore, when handling company affairs, they would give him some face on account of their past dealings with him.

When Han Muzi first took office as the vice president of the company, many were against it. Leaving aside the middle and senior management who were recruited by Ye Moxuan, even those that were not recruited by him had been displeased with the way she worked, and they constantly came to the office to voice their displeasure. From the start, Xiao Su had been the one to quell their dissatisfaction for her sake.

In her defense, her management skills at that time had not been as skillful. As a pregnant lady, and with Ye Moxuan’s condition remaining uncertain, it was a major feat for her to survive the eight hours at work every day, what more to handle company affairs. Moreover, she had no experience in managing such a large conglomerate. It took a lot of guidance from Xiao Su for her to slowly establish herself. In retrospect, it had been a very trying time.

After having breakfast, she went back to her room to get changed. Then, she roamed around aimlessly and gave her brother, Han Qing, a call while she was at it. The moment Han Qing answered her call, he stated, “I’ve already heard from Moxuan. How are you feeling?” His voice was filled with concern as he asked.

She was momentarily stunned, but she soon guessed that Ye Moxuan had informed him about her uncomfortable flight on the plane—which was probably why he was asking after her. “Don’t worry, Qing. I’ve had a good rest, and I’m feeling energized now.”

“That’s good.”

As soon as she heard those words, another familiar female voice sounded through the phone. “President Han, the meeting is about to begin.”

Han Qing frowned. Just as he was about to say something, Han Muzi went first. “Oh, are you about to have a meeting, Qing? Then, you should go ahead. I won’t disturb you any further.” She immediately hung up after speaking.

Still holding the phone, he stared at it speechlessly. Then, he put away the phone and massaged his eyebrows, smiling helplessly. “That girl…” After that, he turned around and headed toward the meeting room with Su Jiu in tow.

“Is Miss Muzi back?” Su Jiu asked tentatively.

Nodding, he replied, “Yeah.”

Despite her curiosity, she decided against asking further questions when she saw the moody aura around him. For some reason, he had that moody air wrapped around his body ever since he came back from abroad. It made others afraid to approach him out of fear of saying the wrong thing and causing him to lose his temper.

Although he rarely lost his temper, the aura lingering around his body had always been stable and restrained. He might seem unapproachable normally, but when reporting to him, at most one would be conscious of the authoritative pressure coming from a superior. However, right now, he was giving off a completely frigid aura—so much so that he seemed arrogant and overbearing.

It was only for a short period; exactly what happened while he was abroad? Su Jiu had thousands of questions in her heart, but she did not know where to start asking, nor was it her place to ask.

Be that as it may, while Han Qing was on the phone with Han Muzi, the chilling aura around him had disappeared for a moment and was replaced with gentleness and concern for his loved one. Once he hung up the phone, the chilling aura returned immediately. What is going on?

After hanging up the phone, Han Muzi aimlessly sat down by the water. It was winter right now, so she couldn’t dip her feet in the water as she had in the summer. Instead, she sunbathed and admired the view of the sea.

Making a video call to Little Bean, both mother and son talked for a long while. After a while, Yuchi Jin came looking for Little Bean, so they ended the call. Feeling sleepy again, she went back to sleep. In the following days, she spent every day peacefully just like that, completely forgetting that she owned a company.

It was not until Yan came looking for her, saying she wanted to resign, that Han Muzi remembered about her own company. “Everything has been going swimmingly, so why are you asking to resign?” She looked at Yan with confusion. “Isn’t the company doing well under your management?”

Yan shook her head and sighed. “I haven’t been back to visit my parents for so long, so I want to go back home to see them. I probably won’t be able to manage the company’s affairs for quite a long while.”

Pursing her lips, Han Muzi said nothing.

“Muzi, I know that I’m asking a lot from you for me to resign at a time like this, but…”

Nothing To Give But My Heart Chapter 1006

Yan left her sentence trailing. Han Muzi could tell that she had something to say, but it was hard for her to voice it out. However, she was determined to resign from her position and apologized to Han Muzi profusely before she left.

Mulling over it, Han Muzi felt that something was not quite right. Based on Yan’s personality, she would not resign at a time like this, so there must be an underlying reason for her actions. Therefore, Han Muzi decided to visit the company. When the company was first established, it had been thriving due to the famous brand name it carried, so many came to them for designs.

The elite team Han Qing recruited for her had been dissatisfied in the beginning, but after a while, they had gradually settled down. They worked together to discuss and come up with new ideas, then created designs and products which would satisfy their clients. Although she had been abroad at the time, she continued to personally check and approve their designs and products. Moreover, she would inform Yan to let the design team know about her thoughts, key points, and important matters related to their previous designs and products.

Now that Yan wanted to resign, she would lose her strongest right-hand man. Unfortunately, not everything can be forced. Yan was a free individual. She couldn’t force Yan to remain by her side forever; perhaps Yan had only continued working for her out of pressure or a sense of responsibility.

When Leng Yueyue saw Han Muzi at the company, she was overjoyed, and she proudly presented her latest designs and products to Han Muzi.

“How is it?” Leng Yueyue looked at Han Muzi expectantly; three words were practically written across her face—please praise me!

Unable to resist breaking out into a smile, Han Muzi lightly praised, “Not bad; it’s much better than before.” Afterward, she asked about Yan. “How has the company been doing? During the time I was not here, was Yan… performing well?”

At the mention of Yan’s name, Leng Yueyue’s expression became slightly odd—she looked as if she had something to say, but was hesitant to mention it. Han Muzi frowned. So, there really is a reason then? “What’s wrong? That expression…”

Leng Yueyue raised her head at Han Muzi’s words and met her gaze, hesitating for a long time before she said, “Erm… I know you have a great relationship with Yan, but since you asked me, I’m not trying to badmouth her or anything, okay? Yan has been in terrible condition recently. She has already botched several client orders just in the past few days.”

“She messed up?” Han Muzi narrowed her eyes, not understanding the situation. “How did she manage that?”

Afterward, Leng Yueyue explained what had happened recently. In the meantime, Han Muzi remained frowning, and it was impossible to tell whether she was angry or not. When she finished explaining, Leng Yueyue carefully added, “I really wasn’t trying to badmouth her; I only told you because you asked me.” Otherwise, she was not the kind of person to talk behind someone’s back.

Coming back to her senses, Han Muzi nodded and flashed a smile at Leng Yueyue. “I understand. You’re only telling me all these because I asked; I know you’re not the type of person who talks behind others’ backs. Happy?”

Being stared at like that, Leng Yueyue’s ears reddened and her expression became bashful. “Erm… Please don’t tease me. To be honest, Yan has always been serious about her work. I may not be easy to get along with, but I can tell that she hasn’t been looking too good. I don’t think she messed up those client orders intentionally.”

Han Muzi grunted in agreement. “I’ve worked with her for many years; I know what kind of person she is.”

“I see. So, you’re just asking because you want to know how she has been doing recently, right?”

“That’s right.”

“Then, let me tell you a little more about what she had been doing lately.”

Thereafter, Han Muzi learned a lot about how Yan had been doing recently from Leng Yueyue. It turned out that Yan had been depressed and in despair all day long ever since she returned to the company. She couldn’t seem to focus on her work, and would carelessly spill water on their clients during meetings. She would also make other mistakes which resulted in the clients leaving in a huff, refusing to work with their company anymore. Additionally, Leng Yueyue had also noticed several other small incidents.

Han Muzi’s gaze became worried. It seemed like Yan’s relationship issues had been a huge shock to her. In the past, even when she had been hurt, she would soon cheer up because she had not given up on Han Qing, and she always found something to fire herself up.

Now that she was reacting like this and no longer trying to fire herself up, had she given up on Han Qing? However, on the surface, she looked as she usually did—as if there were no problems at all. It turned out that her emotions would spill out while she was working. Perhaps, she was feeling guilty from losing several large client orders, and that was why she wanted to resign.

Han Muzi wasn’t sure whether she should persuade Yan to stay or to simply let her go. It was not clear whether Yan had stayed with her all these years willingly, or out of a sense of responsibility. However, no matter the reason, she was grateful to Yan. Anyhow, if Yan had stayed by her side out of a sense of responsibility, she should set Yan free to do whatever she wanted to do. After Han Muzi made her decision, she decided to talk to Yan.

Seeing Han Muzi at the company, Yan paused in astonishment for a moment. “Why are you here? You can’t be thinking of working in that condition of yours, right?”

Smiling lightly, Han Muzi responded, “What’s wrong? Is there a problem with working in my current condition?”

“Of course! You’re pregnant, and your baby isn’t stable yet. It’s best if you rest at home. There are too many things to handle at the company; I’m worried you would be overwhelmed by it all.”

Han Muzi continued to smile. “If you’re worried that I’d be overwhelmed now, what happens when you leave?”

Yan kept quiet and their surroundings fell into silence. A long while passed before she scratched her head and said, “Then, shall I stay and help you manage the company for a little while more?”

The smile on Han Muzi’s lips slipped away at Yan’s words. Without responding with a yes or a no, she crossed over the desk and stood in front of Yan. “All this while, staying right by my side and working together in the company, did you do all that with this kind of mindset?”

“I…” Yan began.

“We met five years ago. At that time, you told me that Meng Xueyou was a scheming and manipulative woman who was pretending to be sweet and innocent. When you later found out about the troubles I was facing, you accompanied me all the way overseas. Afterward, we began living together, along with Little Bean. I thought you were living happily every single day. I treasured the closeness we had between us. However, I just found out that… it has always been a burden to you.”

“No, no, no.” Yan hurriedly waved her hands about, diligently trying to explain herself. “It’s not a burden to me. Muzi, don’t misunderstand. Just as you said, I was very happy while I was with you. It’s an honor, so how could it be a burden?”

“How is it not a burden? Just like how you were determined to resign, but after hearing about my physical condition, you decided to stay on. Are you telling me that you’re not sacrificing yourself by putting someone else’s needs first?”

Yan was rendered speechless for a moment. She wasn’t sure how she should respond to Han Muzi. After a short while, she responded in a voice so soft it was almost a whisper, “I-I just don’t want you to have a hard time.”

Nothing To Give But My Heart Chapter 1007

Han Muzi couldn’t help smiling, but her eyes reddened and the tears pooled in her eyes; they were transparent crystals sparkling in front of Yan. Reaching out, she pinched Yan’s cheeks; she put some strength into it until she saw Yan frowning from the pain, yet Yan remained silent.

“Does it hurt?” she asked.

Yan pouted and stared at her resentfully, then softly muttered, “Of course it hurts. Why are you pinching my face so suddenly?”

“If it hurts, then why aren’t you saying anything?” Han Muzi continued asking.

Yan was dumbfounded for a moment, then she seemed to realize the meaning behind Han Muzi’s actions. Angrily, she slapped away Han Muzi’s hand and turned away. “Meanie. You know I’m not as smart as you are, but you always lead me into a trap!”

“How did I lead you into a trap? I just pinched your cheeks. Why didn’t you yell out in pain yourself?” As she spoke, more tears filled her eyes. When Yan turned away, she felt that it was easier to talk that way, so she didn’t force Yan to turn back around. She continued softly, “The words I said to you; did you understand them? If you’re in pain, you have to let me know. If you don’t, nobody would know that you’re in pain. Just like this matter; you tell me that you want to resign, but you don’t tell me why. Then, you decide to stay on after considering my physical condition. Yan, aren’t we like sisters to each other? Best friends are supposed to support each other. It’s not a one-way street where you give all the time without taking. You will wear yourself out doing that.”

Yan’s shoulders shook slightly, but she didn’t say a word.

Han Muzi continued, “I’ve heard everything about your recent performance in the company.”

“Muzi, I…” Yan anxiously turned back her head. Only then did Han Muzi realize that her eyes were red as well. Did she turn around so abruptly because she was afraid I would notice?

“You’re a silly girl.” Although there were tears in her eyes, Han Muzi did her best to smile. “You don’t have to explain; I know you’ve been down in the dumps recently. Even though you’ve always told me that you will pace yourself accordingly, many things cannot be forced and need time to heal. Since you want to resign, I won’t stop you.”

Receiving her agreement so easily was unexpected, and Yan became flustered. “I’m sorry, Muzi. I was wrong… I don’t want to resign, I just—”

“I know,” Han Muzi interrupted her, then gently said, “I understand, so you don’t need to explain. Just do what you want to do and what you like to do. Don’t worry about me; I’ll handle things here somehow.”

“Muzi…” At this moment, Yan was regretting everything. Before this, she didn’t want to continue working because she was worried that her current state would cause even larger losses to the company. That was why she wanted to resign—so that Han Muzi could find somebody better than her to take over the management of the company. However, now that Han Muzi had agreed to it, she felt extremely flustered again. She wanted to say something to Han Muzi so that she could stay, but Han Muzi unexpectedly uttered, “You can pack your things and leave today.”

Yan froze in her tracks and stared at Han Muzi blankly. After a while, a single tear slipped out from the corner of her eye and slowly slid downward. Stepping forward, she gently hugged Han Muzi. “Thank you, Muzi.”

Feeling moved, Han Muzi willed herself to hold back her tears and patted Yan’s shoulders. “That’s enough; why are you being so emotional? Gather your stuff up quickly, then go back and rest well.”

“What will you do after I leave?” Yan’s voice sounded muffled as if she was about to cry.

“You fool, this isn’t something you need to worry about anymore. You’re resigning from this moment on, so the company’s affairs have nothing to do with you anymore. Don’t think about it and just let yourself relax.”

“I’m not worried about the company; I’m worried about you.” Yan pushed her away and stood in front of Han Muzi like a resentful woman. “Look at you; you’re pregnant! There’s already a lot of things going on; if I let you manage the company affairs too, you—”

Before she could finish, Han Muzi pushed her toward the sofa. “Go on. Pack up your stuff. Don’t think too much about everything else. This time, just have a good time. Although the company affairs have nothing to do with you anymore, know that if you ever want to come back, the doors are open to you at any time. However, I would prefer it if you go and do what you like instead. Stop sacrificing your precious time and needs for my sake.”

Yan, who was being pushed out of the office, cried even harder at her words. Sob, sob, where would I find another best friend like her? She nearly could not hold herself from dissolving into tears. But, after thinking about it, she held her tears in and did not cry. After all, she was at the company right now. If she started sobbing, then disappeared the very next day, Han Muzi would be painted in a terrible light.

On that very same day, Yan packed up her stuff and left the company. Han Muzi stopped Yan from handing over her work and tying up loose ends; she didn’t want Yan to be busy handling future company affairs right before she left. Instead, she paid Yan her salary plus a bonus, then sent her home.

After Yan left, Han Muzi became extremely busy. Since there was no hand-over of the work, there were many things that she was unaware of. So, she could only search it up herself; she also occasionally asked Leng Yueyue for help when she came across things she did not know.

Leng Yueyue was her fan. The moment she heard she was being called upon, she practically flew over.

“Yan has resigned from today onward. In the future, she is no longer a member of this company; if she tries to find out about how things are going in the company, you must not let her hear a single peep.”

Leng Yueyue let out a non-committal sound, completely unable to react to what she just heard. Is resignation something that occurs so quickly? “Why can’t I let her know? What if she—”

“If she calls you, just tell her that the company’s affairs are being handled smoothly. Don’t let her worry; if she asks any further, don’t tell her anything.”

Hearing those words, Leng Yueyue finally understood the meaning behind Han Muzi’s words. “I got it. You don’t want to let Yan worry about company affairs. Did you arrange for her resignation today as well?”

“Yes, I did.” Han Muzi nodded her head. “She has been down in the dumps recently, so I wanted to let her have a change of pace. Yueyue, you improve quickly and you are very enthusiastic about this job. Regarding Yan’s job…”

Leng Yueyue widened her eyes. “You don’t mean to hand the job to me, do you?”

The overly intense reaction made Han Muzi pause. Hesitating for a bit, she tactfully asked, “You’re… not willing?”

“I’m willing! I’m willing!” Leng Yueyue nodded vigorously, squealing in excitement. “I can’t believe you trust me this much! Of course, I’m willing!”

Han Muzi was too stunned to say a word. From her initial reaction, Han Muzi had thought that she was not willing to do it. I can’t believe she is so excited about it. After a moment, Han Muzi burst out laughing. “That’s great! Yan just left, and there was no time to sort out anything. For the next few days, I’m going to have to trouble you to work with me.”

Nothing To Give But My Heart Chapter 1008

To be able to sort out the documents together with her idol, and stay close by her side in the future, Leng Yueyue was naturally extremely willing to do so. However, there were too many documents, and she couldn’t handle them all by herself. At that moment, she thought of Wang An. “Can I get Wang An here to help out? Don’t worry, he is my yes-man. He has been with me through thick and thin; he won’t leak out any of the important information here.”

“Okay!” Han Muzi nodded in agreement.

In the following hours, Leng Yueyue called Wang An over, and they sorted out the documents together. Naturally, Wang An holed up next to Leng Yueyue. The moment his dream woman called, he came over without saying another word. Before work ended, Han Muzi began yawning non-stop and her eyes were about to close, but she was determined to continue sorting out the documents.

Stealing a few glances at Han Muzi, he leaned toward Leng Yueyue and asked in a whisper, “What’s going on? Are you taking over Yan’s work in the future?”

“Yeah.” Facing him, Leng Yueyue returned to her beautiful, godly state and nodded her head coolly.

He was slightly taken aback. “What’s going on?”

“Wang An, I asked you to help, not to ask questions. You have so much nonsense to say; just what do you take me for?” she retorted back at him in a soft voice.

Not daring to question further, he quietly helped sort the documents. He had asked out of great curiosity, but as long as Leng Yueyue was happy, he had nothing to say against it. It’s enough just to stay by her side.

After a while, he lifted his head and looked in the direction of Han Muzi, and found her sleeping soundly with her head on the table. He stared speechlessly, then hastily reached out to poke Leng Yueyue, who was reading the documents seriously. When she ignored him, he poked at her again. This time, she exploded and grabbed him by the collar, dragging him to her. “Wang An, do you have a death wish?”

“I wanted to tell you that Miss Muzi has fallen asleep.”

“What did you say?” She was stunned and let her gaze follow in the direction he was pointing. Noticing that Han Muzi had fallen asleep against the table, she pouted. “She looks very tired.”

“Yeah, I noticed she was yawning continuously. Maybe she has not gotten enough sleep.”

She slyly narrowed her eyes. “How did you notice her yawning? Are you lusting after her?”

“D*mn. How dare I, my queen?! You know you’re the only one I’ve been crazy about all these years, but you’ve never given me a chance.”

Having been by her side for so many years, although she didn’t even glance at him in the beginning, she was gradually getting used to him staying beside her.

Releasing her grip, Leng Yueyue rolled her eyes at him. “You want to make your dream come through the way you are right now? Who knows if you’ve gotten sick of me after following me around for so many years?” Then, she got up. Just when he thought she had gotten angry, he watched her take off her coat, and walked toward Han Muzi.

“What are you doing?”

“Do you not have eyes? My idol has fallen asleep; I can’t let her catch a cold!” she lowered her voice as she spoke. Then, she carefully walked over and covered Han Muzi with the coat. Afterward, she lightly walked back and gestured for him to gather up the documents on the desk. “Let’s go outside.”

As he got up with the documents in his hands, she snarled at him, “Quietly!”

In the end, he lightened his movements and carried the documents, following Leng Yueyue outside. Once she closed the door and sat down in the outer room, Wang An couldn’t resist asking, “Why did we have to come out? Don’t tell me it’s because you were afraid of waking her up?”

Hearing his question, she rolled her eyes at him. “Why else? My idol has fallen asleep. Why would we continue with our work inside? She looks tired, so let her sleep for a while.”

Looking at the coffee table before them, he muttered in disbelief, “So, we’re going to continue with the work here?”

“Do you have a problem with that?” Leng Yueyue lifted her eyebrows.

“Nope. This place is great!” After saying that, Wang An seemed to think of something, then took off his jacket and draped it over Leng Yueyue’s shoulders.

The huge room was silent as Leng Yueyue and Wang An sorted out the documents diligently. Occasionally, there was the sound of pages turning, but other than that, there were no other noises in the room. When a knock sounded on the door, they jumped in surprise and lifted their heads to glance at each other. Approximately three seconds passed before they got up and headed toward the door together.

As soon as the door opened, they came face to face with a handsome and tall man with an extraordinary aura about him. Frozen in shock, they soon recognized the person standing in front of them: it was the head of the Ye Group—Ye Moxuan.

Wang An subconsciously blurted out a question, “May I know who you’re looking for?”

The moment the question left his lips, Leng Yueyue slapped the back of his head hard, then dragged him behind her as she stepped aside with a smile. “Are you here to look for Miss Muzi, Young Master Ye?”

Glancing at the two of them, Ye Moxuan nodded slightly. “She wasn’t answering my calls.” He had called Seabay Villa and found out that she had gone to the company. Thus, he decided to come over himself to pick her up.

“Uh, um… Miss Muzi didn’t ignore your calls on purpose. There was too much work to do, so she set it on silent.”

Too much work? Ye Moxuan furrowed his brows at her words. Why did she come to work at a time like this? “Where is she?”

Stepping to the side to let him in, Leng Yueyue led him to the office inside as she explained, “She must have been exhausted, so she fell asleep. Therefore, we came outside so as not to disturb her sleep.” Coming to a stop, she carefully opened the door.

As soon as the door opened, he saw Han Muzi sleeping soundly with her head on the table—a women’s coat was draped across her shoulders. Looking at the men’s jacket around Leng Yueyue’s shoulders, he quickly grasped what had happened. Glancing back at her again, he thanked Leng Yueyue. “Thank you. It’s after working hours now; you should be going back. I’ll take her home.”

“Oh, okay…”

Ye Moxuan strode inside with large strides. Glancing at the pile of documents scattered across her desk and her phone placed next to it, he picked up her phone and kept it in his pocket. Then, he took off the coat and gestured for Leng Yueyue to take it back.

Upon seeing this, Wang An hurried forward and took Leng Yueyue’s coat. Ye Moxuan took off his coat and draped it around Han Muzi. Then, he gently picked her up. At first, he had intended to leave just like that, but when he picked her up, she groaned softly and woke up. Opening her eyes, she saw Ye Moxuan’s face right in front of her; she narrowed her eyes doubtfully. “What are you doing here?”

Ye Moxuan glanced down at her. Right now, Han Muzi’s sleepy eyes were still in a daze and she had yet to fully wake up. He planned to carry her downstairs while she was still in this state; otherwise, she might refuse to go back and say that she wanted to stay behind. Therefore, he pursed his lips and gently said, “Don’t mind me; just go back to sleep.”

Nothing To Give But My Heart Chapter 1009

Perhaps her brain had still been half-asleep, as Han Muzi merely nodded her head, thinking that nothing was wrong. Then, she closed her eyes and went back to sleep. Carrying her in his arms, Ye Moxuan walked out. After taking a few steps, she seemed to remember something, and her eyes snapped open again to glare at him. “No, let me down.”

How can I leave? She was at the company right now, and a lot of work still needed to be done. Furthermore, she came to realize that she had been so sleepy that she had fallen asleep just now. How am I to set a good example in the future? As a superior at work, she had taken a nap during working hours. Moreover, she had slept so soundly that she didn’t even realize Ye Moxuan had arrived.

Stopping in his tracks, Ye Moxuan frowned at her. Why did you wake up so quickly?

“Hurry up and let me down.” Pushing against him, she struggled to wiggle out of his embrace. Hugging her tight against him, he pursed his lips in a slightly displeased manner.

“What are you doing?”

“It’s after working hours,” he reminded her.

After working hours? Hearing those words made her feel as if she had been struck by lightning and her facial expression changed greatly. I’m certain it was a long way before working hours were over when I was still working! Not only did I fall asleep, but I actually slept until after working hours?! Oh my God…

Just as she was beating herself up over it, Leng Yueyue’s voice sounded from the side. “Muzi! Why don’t you go back with Young Master Ye? Leave these documents to Wang An and me; we’ll deal with it. Anyway, it’s not like we have to rush to finish this within a day or two. You look exhausted; you should go back and rest.”

Han Muzi was silent. “I’m sorry. I can’t believe I fell asleep.”

“No problem!” Leng Yueyue waved her hand about. In the past, she used to disapprove of Han Muzi, but once she found out that Han Muzi was her favorite designer, she began defending Han Muzi despite all her shortcomings. No matter what the people Leng Yueyue wanted to protect had done, in her eyes, they must have a reason or predicament for doing so. Even if they didn’t, she would find one for them!

Wang An had been trying to woo her for a long time now, so he was familiar with her personality and temperament. At this moment, he laughed as he added to the conversation, “That’s right, you should go back now. It’s fine to leave these matters to Yueyue and me.”

Ye Moxuan saw that Han Muzi was still conflicted, so he decided for her. “Let’s go back for today; you can continue with your unfinished work tomorrow. As for the two of them, I will personally pay for a raise in their salaries from my account.” Then, he leaned down and whispered by her ear, “Are you satisfied now?”

Han Muzi had been feeling guilty over the fact that she had failed to set a good example as their superior. Moreover, she was pushing so much work onto Leng Yueyue and Wang An. Now that Ye Moxuan agreed to increase their salaries, she felt slightly better. However, she was rather curious, so she asked softly, “H-How much are you raising?”

His lips curled into a smirk. “As much as they want until they are satisfied.”

Leng Yueyue and Wang An were rendered speechless. Tsk, the wealthy do have deep pockets!

Then, Leng Yueyue nodded in satisfaction. “A salary raise is great! This way, you can go back without any worries, Muzi.”

Han Muzi still wasn’t convinced, but Ye Moxuan didn’t give her a chance to agonize over her dilemma. After giving the two of them a nod of acknowledgment, he left with her in his arms.

After they left, Leng Yueyue supported her chin with both hands and stared after them with a starry-eyed look in her eyes. “It’s so great to be Young Master Ye.”

“Huh?” Wang An asked.

“He is… carrying my idol!” Her expression was blissful—almost as if she was the one carrying Han Muzi.

At first, he thought she was going crazy over a tall and handsome man, just like all the other girls. After all, even in the eyes of a man, Ye Moxuan’s looks were flawless. However, he unexpectedly found out that she was not going crazy over Ye Moxuan, but… Glancing over at her again, he hesitantly asked, “Yueyue, do you… swing the other way?”

Leng Yueyue, who had on a stupidly happy expression just now, instantly turned her head and glared at him unhappily. “What nonsense are you talking about? What about swinging the other way?”

“Ahem, ahem. Well, I have been chasing after you for a while now, but you’ve never shown any reaction. On the other hand, you’re going crazy over a woman right now… If you don’t swing the other way, then why—”

Before he could finish his sentence, she grabbed him by his shirt collar and dragged him toward her. The distance between them became smaller and smaller. Lifting his head, he could see her beautiful face right before his; in fact, he could even kiss her rosy lips if he just moved forward slightly. All of a sudden, he became nervous, and his eyelashes trembled as he looked up at her. “W-What’s wrong?” Despite the temptation to kiss her, he told himself to hold back. He had been trying to woo her for so long; if he lost control at this very moment and kissed her, she would hate him for it. Then, all the effort he had put in so far would be wasted.

Not knowing what kind of thoughts were going through his mind at this moment, she fiercely raged, “I admire my idol. That’s a form of worship; do you understand? Forget it! With your pig brain, you wouldn’t understand even if I explained it to you. Tsk. Anyway, I’m just very envious of Young Master Ye!”

After being pushed away, he lowered his head and looked down at his tie wishfully. A strange inclination suddenly came over him, and he wished that Leng Yueyue would scold him a few more times. Yes, with that particularly close distance between us just now. Sigh… Wang An massaged his temples. It seems like I still have a long way to go.

Originally, Han Muzi had been very sleepy. However, after the incident at the office, and getting into the car, she was wide awake now. When Ye Moxuan leaned forward to fasten her seat belt, she quietly voiced out, “Erm…”

“Hmm?” Pausing in his movements, he lifted his eyes to study her.

“I’m wide awake now; I’m not sleepy anymore.”

Lifting his brows at her words, Ye Moxuan said, “That’s great. We can have dinner when we get back.”

She continued, “What I mean is, I want to go back to work.”

Click! The sound of the safety belt buckle locking into place accompanied her words. Frowning, she studied his unhappy gaze. It seemed like he would not allow her to go back again, but she was unwilling to give up. “Erm, I have too much work right now plus I had an afternoon nap. So, I have the energy to finish my work now.”

He mercilessly replied, “Have dinner first; we’ll talk after that.”

As the car drove off, she opened her mouth, closed it again, and looked out the window helplessly. Sigh, forget it. If he won’t let me out of the car to go back to work now, what are the chances of him letting me return to work after dinner?

It was quiet in the car for a while, then Han Muzi blurted out, “Yan resigned.”

“Mm,” Ye Moxuan calmly answered without the slightest hint of surprise.

Nothing To Give But My Heart Chapter 1010

Han Muzi gave him a sideways glance, and after mulling over it, she began again, “I told her to leave today. We were not able to take over any of her tasks properly, so there are many things to do at the company right now.”

“I see,” Ye Moxuan replied again, then he added, “Take it easy with your work and don’t get too tired; don’t forget that you’re pregnant right now.”

She finally couldn’t help asking, “Are you not going to ask me why I let her resign? Or ask me why I told her to leave?”

The other party did not answer her questions. Right then, the light in front turned red and the car came to a stop at the red light. All of a sudden, he leaned his body toward her, grabbed her sharp chin, and kissed her.

“Mmph.” Her hands subconsciously pushed against his chest, trying to stop him from coming toward her. However, he was faster than her; he nimbly pried open her teeth and kissed her. There were more than 20 seconds left on the redlight. The kiss lasted until there were nearly 5 seconds left. Although it wasn’t that long, he had kissed her deeply. When they separated, she was panting heavily—unable to breathe smoothly.

“I don’t want to ask because it affects our communication.”

As the countdown ended, the light gradually changed. He calmly continued driving; his expression was so indifferent that it almost seemed like nothing had happened just now. On the other hand, Han Muzi’s face had reddened so much that she looked like she was going to bleed from it. The car window had been half open when he leaned over to kiss her. Right at that moment, she saw the people in the opposite car glancing over—probably having witnessed the kiss. How embarrassing!

Reaching her hands up, she held her blushing face and licked at her lips gloomily. “When you mentioned ‘communication’, you can’t be referring to this, right?” Without waiting for his answer, she retorted unhappily, “What bullsh*t! That’s just your excuse to take advantage of me.”

“Take advantage?” He narrowed his eyes and looked at her teasingly. “Weren’t you the one with an expression of pleasure on your face? How can you say I was taking advantage of you?”

“Ye Moxuan!”

“Hmm?”

“Shut your mouth!”

Who said I was enjoying it?! He is ruining my innocence! How could I possibly have had an expression of pleasure? That’s nonsense! The moment she got angry, her face turned red again. B*stard! Every time he wants to take advantage of me, not only would he deny doing so, he would even push the blame onto me!

Even when she had not done anything, he would drag her onto his lap and kiss her hungrily without her consent, then accuse her of seducing him. And now? He said that I had an expression of pleasure on my face! How is that possible?

Glancing sideways at her, Ye Moxuan saw that his wife was out of breath. At first, he wanted to tease her, but her emotions were unexpectedly unstable. Considering she was pregnant, he decided to stop his teasing. “Alright, I took advantage of you this time. I wanted to kiss you, okay?”

Snorting in her heart, Han Muzi replied in a huff, “It has always been like that!”

He did not continue to bicker with her over it and brought her to a restaurant instead. After getting a private room for two and ordering the dishes, he held her on his lap.

“What are you up to again?” She warily pushed him aside, but he was strong and held her securely. He had controlled his strength perfectly—she was unable to escape his embrace but was not hurt by it either. His burning gaze made her heart skip a beat, and she widened her eyes. “You can’t be thinking of—”

Before she finished speaking, he was already kissing her. Since they had just entered from the outside and the private room was air-conditioned, the temperature inside was still quite warm. Their bodies had yet to adjust to the inner temperature. When their lips touched, both their lips were cold.

Within a short while, she felt his cold, thin lips gradually becoming scorching hot as it caressed hers again and again. He held her face as he kissed her passionately, giving off a feeling similar to a person holding his greatest treasure in his hands.

Blinking her eyes, the cogs in her brain were turning quickly. Don’t tell me he is continuing the kiss in the private room because he was not satisfied with the kiss in the car? Or, did he bring me here because of some scheme he had in mind?

Deep in her thoughts, a sigh passed into her ears suddenly. Then, he muttered resentfully, “Are you so distracted because my skills are lacking?”

Coming back to her senses, she saw that his gaze—similar to that of a deep and profound wolf—seemed to have changed under the lights. It gave off the feeling that if she agreed with his previous statement, he would immediately devour her alive without a single bone left behind.

The thought gave her shivers down her spine and she strongly shook her head. “No, not at all.”

“No? Then, is it because I’m not giving it my all?”

This question he’s asking… She felt embarrassed on his behalf. Biting her lip, she reached out and pulled his ear. “Are you done with your questions? You know I would never answer those questions, so why do you keep asking? Besides, we’re here to eat, not to do other stuff! Behave yourself!”

Her sudden change caught him off guard. Moreover, she was using quite a lot of force, so he was in pain currently. In a flash, the ambiguous atmosphere from before was gone. Speechlessly staring at her for a bit, he finally grumbled, “You sure are good at ruining the mood.”

Withdrawing her hand, she got down from his lap. “Of course.” What if he became aroused if I had not ruined the mood? I can’t be with him right now, so wouldn’t it be more unbearable for him when the time comes?

In the end, she chose the seat furthest away from him and sat down, then sternly stated, “In the future, you are not allowed to kiss me without my consent.”

Puzzled, he squinted his eyes and stared at the woman who had intentionally chosen the seat furthest away from him. After a while, he sneered, “What do you mean by that?”

Han Muzi did not bother to give him an explanation; instead, she said, “Anyway, you heard me. If you kiss me again without my consent, I’m going to get very mad at you.”

Since coming back from abroad, they had not seen each other much due to work. Had they not come out for a meal together, they would barely have any chance to even speak with each other.

Ye Moxuan looked at the way she was seriously telling him off. At first, he wanted to fight for some benefits for himself. His fingertips tapped lightly against the table, then paused for a moment; his thin lips curled upward. Heh, she can tell me off, but… I don’t have to do as she says, do I? As for getting mad at me, as husband and wife, how angry can she get over these matters? After making up his mind, he did not argue with her anymore.

Soon, the dishes were served. As they ate, Han Muzi suddenly thought of something. “How long would it take before your company affairs will slow down?”

Ye Moxuan glanced over at her. “Soon; probably about a week.”

“Alright, I’ll also do my best to finish up my work at my company within a week.”

“Then?”

“Then, we’ll go to the previous manor of the Ye Family.”
