Ye Moxuan glared at her fiercely with his beast-like stare.
Shen Qi shrunk her neck a little, biting her lips, she said firmly, “I won’t change this dress!”
“Don’t tell me that you want to continue strutting around the dinner party in that dress?”
Shen Qi straightened her back and slightly raised her chin, exposing her long fair neck. “Everyone is wearing dresses similar to mine. For what reason are you solely commenting on my dress? Just because you have the assumption that I’m a flirty woman, you will definitely have comments on whatever I wear. If that’s the case, why should I care what you think of me?”
Ye Moxuan frowned.

Staring at her slim silhouette, flames danced in Ye Moxuan’s eyes. He heard Xiao Su stutter, “Y-Y-Young Master Ye, are we going to chase after the second young lady?”
“Who gave you the permission to address her as the second young lady?”
Xiao Su gulped anxiously and asked, “D-D-Did I use the wrong title?”
I used to call her as the second young lady and you didn’t get angry at it before this. But now…
“She’s not the second young lady; she’s just a flirty and shameless woman!” Ye Moxuan paused a while and smirked evilly. “Since she wants to show off her body so much, let her be!”
Xiao Su remained silent. I’m afraid that you will gouge out the eyes of those who keep looking at the second young lady.
Xiao Su obviously didn’t have the guts to speak his mind, so he could only keep his thoughts to himself.
Shen Qi went back to her seat and Yan immediately came to her.
“What took you so long in the bathroom? You never picked up my call either.”
Call? Shen Qi quickly took out her phone from her handbag. She tapped the screen only to realize that her phone was switched off.
Oh damn! I’ve forgotten something important! I remember Han Qing asked Su Jiu to send the dinner dress to me. Since my phone was switched off, don’t tell me that Su Jiu…
Thinking of that, Shen Qi quickly asked, “Do you guys have a power bank and cable with you? My phone is dead.”
Yan blinked and replied, “We are here for a dinner party. Who would bring those things along with them?”
“I did.” Han Xueyou put her handbag on the table and took out the power bank and the cable. “Here you go.”
“Xueyou, thank you so much,” Shen Qi quickly connected her phone to the power bank with the cable and it only turned on after it was charged for a while.
Fortunately, her phone came with a fast charging feature. Shen Qi found that there were a lot of missed calls and unread messages once her phone was turned on.
All the missed calls were from Su Jiu except Yan who did call her once.
Sitting beside Shen Qi, Han Xueyou casually took a glance and froze for a moment when she saw a familiar contact among the missed calls. She then asked, “Su Jiu? Isn’t she my brother’s secretary?”
Listening to her question, Shen Qi was stunned for a while and she nodded her head. “Yes.”
Han Xueyou’s heart skipped a beat and she asked, “Why does Secretary Su want to speak with you? She even called you so many times.”
After pondering for a while, Shen Qi thought it would be better for her not to tell Han Xueyou that Han Qing had bought her a dinner dress. Hence, she explained, “I guess she has something to tell me about work from last time.”
“Oh, I see.” When she heard that it was work-related matter, Han Xueyou thought of the fact that his brother’s company had a collaboration with Shen Qi’s company, and only then she felt relieved.
“I’ll call her back.” Shen Qi took the power bank along her and walked out the hall to call Su Jiu.
“Miss Shen.”
“Secretary Su, I’m so sorry. The battery of my phone was dead just now.”
Su Jiu’s laughter could be heard on the other side of the phone. “It’s alright. Initially I was going to send the dress to your company, but you seem to have already dressed up so I stopped calling you.”
“Please help me to express my gratitude to President Han.”
“You’re most welcome.”
“If there is nothing else, I have to go.”
Right after Shen Qi hung up the phone call, Han Xueyou came up to her suddenly and asked, “Express your gratitude to my brother? What did he do?”
Shen Qi’s hand covered her chest in shock as she was startled by Han Xueyou’s sudden appearance.
“Xueyou, you nearly gave me a heart attack!”
Although Han Xueyou was smiling, it was more forced than sincere. “I’m asking you—why did you ask Secretary Su to express your gratitude to my brother? Qi, did you…discuss something with my brother behind my back?”
Listening to her questioning, Shen Qi slightly knitted her brows.
What can we discuss about? I just don’t feel there’s a need to tell you the truth since I didn’t actually receive the dress. But you’re my best friend, and Han Qing is your brother. Should I tell you about the dress? Will it be inappropriate for me to hide this from you?
Whereupon Shen Qi was pondering, Yan came to her.
“What are you two doing here? We’re here to attend the annual dinner party, not to exchange murmurs over here. Let’s go. I’ll take you to the swimming pool to have a look around!” Without giving any chances for the two of them to turn her down, Yan held their hands and walked toward the swimming pool.
The conversation between Shen Qi and Han Xueyou was interrupted by Yan. Han Xueyou felt uneasy deep down in her heart. Han Xueyou always had a bad feeling that Shen Qi would do something bad behind her back just because she was afraid of being found out.
The crystal clear water of the huge swimming pool sparkled under the spotlight. A girl in a pretty white midi dress was playing a piano not far away from the pool. All guests in their suits and dresses were chit-chatting and enjoying themselves by the swimming pool.
The overall atmosphere was very good.
Yan arrived at the edge of the swimming pool and said, “We shall stay here and not go anywhere else. There will be an interesting activity later.”
Interesting activity? Both Shen Qi and Han Xueyou showed a puzzled look on their faces.
“Xueyou, you’re not from our company, and Shen Qi, you’re new to our company, so it’s understandable that you two don’t know about the annual activity we have in our company. There is a men’s swimming contest at our annual dinner every year which Vice President Ye and the other young masters will be joining.”
Shen Qi was puzzled. “So this is the interesting activity that you meant?”
“Of course!” Yan grabbed her hands excitedly. “Vice President Ye has a very fit figure! And it’s not just him; there will be a lot of rich young masters with handsome faces and great figures who will take part in the swimming contest as well. It is like a feast for the eyes, especially to girls like me who like to see handsome guys.”
Shen Qi and Han Xueyou were at a loss for words.
After a few moments, Han Xueyou cupped her chin and asked, “Will Ye Moxuan join the contest too?”
“What?” Yan gaped her eyes wide and rolled her eyes while looking at Han Xueyou. “You’ve got to be kidding me, right?”
“Huh?”
“Everyone knows that Young Master Ye is in a wheelchair, so how can he join the swimming contest?”
Only then did Han Xueyou recall that Ye Moxuan was handicapped.
Perhaps it was because his aura was so strong, so Han Xueyou often forgot the fact that he was disabled.
As they mentioned Ye Moxuan, Shen Qi thought of the fight she had with him outside of the bathroom just now. We have not been on good terms since the beginning. I guess…he might hate me more after tonight.

Thinking of that, Shen Qi looked down and stared at the glistening water of the pool in silence.
“I’m sorry. It just slipped my mind…” Han Xueyou smiled awkwardly. Yan looked in the other direction in irritation, thinking that Han Xueyou had made such a remark deliberately. “Make sure your phone is fully charged so that you can help us to take photos when the contest starts!” Yan then turned to Shen Qi and said with excitement.
Han Xueyou seemed to recall something and asked, “Is everyone here to watch the contest?”
Yan nodded and answered, “Of course. Everyone will be here to watch the contest and there will be judges too.”
“Only men can join the contest?”
Yan glanced at Han Xueyou. “What do you mean?”
“I mean, why can’t we girls join the contest when the guys can?”
Yan’s eyes lit up. “Now that you mention it,there isn’t any rule against it, but it seems like the organizer doesn’t have such an arrangement, so I don’t think we girls can take part in the contest.”
“Easy!” With a bright smile on her face, Han Xueyou walked toward Shen Qi to cling onto her arm and waved at Ye Linhan who was not far away from them. “Mr. Ye!” Han Xueyou’s voice attracted everyone’s attention; on the other hand, Ye Linhan’s attention had been on them for quite some time now.
His eyes were attracted by Shen Qi’s bright red dress since she appeared at the dinner, and he had been paying attention to her all the while.
He originally thought that blue or green dresses would suit her better with her elegant temperament. He didn’t expect her to look so dazzling in red, just like a shimmering ruby.
Ye Linhan immediately noticed when Han Xueyou waved at him, and he also saw the change of expression on Shen Qi’s face.
Shen Qi held Han Xueyou’s hand and asked softly, “Why did you call him?”
Han Xueyou smiled and replied to her, “Oh, nothing much. Since he’s one of the people in charge here, I want to ask for his help to organize a women’s swimming contest.”
“You can find someone else, can’t you? What do you want to do?” Shen Qi lowered her voice and warned her, “Don’t do anything stupid!”
“Don’t worry. I won’t tell him about that matter at this moment. Obviously, I need to get your permission before I do so.”
“Vice President Ye is coming over here!”
Ye Linhan came to them, a light smile on his handsome face. “Yes?”
“Mr. Ye!” Excitement could be heard in Han Xueyou’s voice. “I heard that there will be a men’s swimming contest later. Is that true?”

“The contest was only open for men in the past. Can we have a women’s swimming contest too this year?”

Han Xueyou noticed the surprised expression on his face so she quickly squeezed Shen Qi’s arm tighter and pulled her forward. “That’s also Qi’s suggestion. Mr. Ye, you won’t decline her small request, will you?”
“I…” As Shen Qi wanted to speak up for herself, Han Xueyou held her tighter and whispered softly in her ear, “Help me this time if you don’t want me to tell him about that matter.”
Later, if Ye Moxuan is here, I must grab the opportunity to show off my figure in front of him! Han Xueyou thought.

Shen Qi was speechless. Make the dinner more enjoyable? What a joke. I thought this should be an annual dinner, not a swimming tournament…
But looking at how excited Han Xueyou and Yan were, she didn’t make any remark.
“So does it mean that you’ve agreed to us, Mr. Ye? We can register to take part in the contest later?”
“Of course. I will talk to the organizer and ask them to open for registration later. All three of you want to take part? Since the number of participants is limited, if the three of you want to join the contest, I’ll ask the organizer to reserve places for all of you.”
“Yes!” Yan and Han Xueyou couldn’t wait and nodded their heads, thrilled.
Shen Qi was the only one who remained silent. The two girls looked at her and asked, “Qi, aren’t you joining us?”
“Er…” Shen Qi paused for a while and said awkwardly, “I don’t know how to swim.”
Of course she couldn’t take part in the swimming contest.
Yan was surprised to hear that. “How can you not know how to swim? Oh my god, in this era, you have to learn swimming anyhow. How boring it will be if you can’t swim!”

Not long after he left, the organizer announced the registration for the women’s contest and Han Xueyou quickly rushed to register her name excitedly. Yan let her go by herself and stayed back. “Did you realize Vice President Ye’s gaze when he looked at you just now?”
Shen Qi was dumbfounded. “What?”
“It was obviously full of love. Let me guess—Vice President Ye is courting you but you didn’t agree to be with him; am I right?”
Shen Qi replied, “You must have been mistaken. Vice President Ye and I don’t have such a relationship.”
Ye Linhan is courting me? That’s impossible! I’m Ye Moxuan’s wife regardless of whether it is a marriage of convenience, but Ye Linhan will never have feelings for me since he has known that since the beginning.

When the ladies there heard that women were allowed to register for the competition, and that they would get a big surprise gift if they won, a lot of them signed up for it.
Gao Yun and Cui Minli signed up for it as well.
After the two of them completed their registration, they turned to look at Shen Qi who was sitting by the side. They couldn’t help but make their way toward her and ridicule her.
“Well, isn’t this the newcomer to our department? Why are you spacing out here?”
“That’s right. Why didn’t you register for the competition? I thought that you like the attention?”
Yan glared at them. “What do you guys think you are doing?”
“We are not doing anything. We just came here to check in on her.”
“Hey, newcomer, are you sure you don’t want to participate in the competition?” asked Gao Yun as she glared at Shen Qi.
Shen Qi took a look at her in a calm manner. “Is there a rule that says this is mandatory?”
“You!” Gao Yun was extremely pissed. She originally thought that she had found an opportunity to harm her. Who knew… that she actually did not wish to participate in the competition.
“What does Qi’s participation have anything to do with you? If you guys want to participate in the competition, then go by yourselves! Why do you have to poke your noses into other people’s businesses?” Yan was like a mother chicken protecting her brood as she shielded Shen Qi behind her and glared angrily at the two of them.
“Gao Yun, I think she does not dare to participate in the competition as she is afraid to lose to us. Since she is that useless, let’s ignore her.”

After the both of them left, Yan said in a huff, “Do these two people bully you often?”

Han Xueyou’s gaze met Ye Moxuan’s as she couldn’t help but wink at him as she gave him a pretty smile.
Xiao Su, who was standing behind Ye Moxuan, couldn’t help but roll his eyes.
“Where is Young Master Ye looking at? I think he is looking in that direction.”
“Isn’t that Assistant Shen? Wasn’t she demoted recently? Don’t tell me Young Master Ye is looking at her?”

Shen Qi was speechless.
She was right. Ye Moxuan was indeed looking at her. However… his gaze fell upon Han Xueyou in the end.
She was worried that Ye Moxuan would try to flirt with Han Xueyou in order to piss her off.
Shen Qi pressed her lips together when she thought about this. “I was just thinking who would win if you guys were to compete with each other.”
Yan was stunned. A moment later, she smiled smugly. “Of course I would win. I was a champion swimmer in the past.”
When Han Xueyou, who was beside her, heard this, she said, “Then, you have to be careful. I am also very good at swimming. Moreover, I will be the champion tonight.”
When she heard this, Yan smirked as she looked her squarely in the eyes. “You aren’t one of the staff of our company. So, why are you talking about winning?”
“Since I can participate, I have a shot at winning it. Don’t think that I will go easy on you just because I am not a staff member of your company.” Han Xueyou deliberately tried to provoke her.
Yan’s expression changed abruptly. “Who asked you to go easy on me? How can I lose to a conniving b*tch like you?!”

Shen Qi quickly stepped forward to stop them. “It’s just a competition. Stop arguing. The men’s swimming competition is about to begin.”
Many people participated in the men’s swimming competition. A group of men from noble families had changed into their swimming trunks as they stood beside the pool. The moment they appeared at the scene, the women started screaming their heads off in a crazed manner. Some of them even took their mobile phones out and started taking pictures of them.
Coincidentally, Zhao Yu was standing close to Shen Qi. He turned his head to look at her as he approached her with a smile.

Shen Qi and Yan were speechless.
Han Xueyou pressed her lips together as she mocked him, “Zhao Group? Who do you think you are? Why don’t you look at yourself in the mirror to see whether you are worthy to become our friends?”
Her outburst caused everybody’s expression to change. Zhao Yu’s face fell, his expression changing drastically as he stared at Han Xueyou. He was utterly speechless.
Although Shen Qi was planning to ignore the person in front of her, she felt that Han Xueyou’s words were a little harsh. Moreover, she couldn’t believe that those words came from Han Xueyou’s mouth. At the moment, she was looking at Han Xueyou in surprise.
Ever since Han Xueyou became the Young Lady of the Han Family, she was spoiled by many people. Hence, she acted in an unreasonable and despotic manner most of the time. Nobody dared to do anything about it because of her status. The only thing was, she kept pretending to be her old self in front of Shen Qi. Now that she was faced with Zhao Yu, she had forgotten to put up her pretenses.
With that thought in mind, Han Xueyou quickly showed her kind side.
“Qi, I didn’t mean it that way… I only felt that…” She leaned toward Shen Qi as she whispered something in her ear. She succeeded in changing Shen Qi’s expression in that instant.
“Well, you should leave here quickly,” Yan urged Zhao Yu. “It doesn’t matter whether you win the competition or not as it has nothing to do with Qi. Don’t blame us if you lose because she did not agree to your request. We do not want to be held accountable for it.”
Zhao Yu knew that he had said something wrong as he looked embarrassed. “I am sorry. I didn’t mean it that way.”
With that, he left.
The men’s swimming competition started with the blow of the whistle. Due to the fact that they were standing closer to the participants, Yan was feeling extremely excited at the moment as she took out her phone and started snapping away. Then, she yelled, “Go! Vice President Ye! Show them what you got!”
Ye Linhan had a nice figure. Yan ended up chasing after him as she screamed shrilly. At the same time, she kept taking his pictures with her phone. The way she was running in her heels made Shen Qi worried for her.
As expected, Ye Linhan won the championship.
Amidst the shrieks of all the women there, nearly everybody’s attention was focused upon Ye Linhan’s perfect body as he got out of the swimming pool. Shen Qi was the only exception as her gaze was drawn toward Ye Moxuan, who was sitting not far behind her.
He was sitting in a wheelchair. He remained expressionless with a cold look in his eyes as if this situation did not concern him at all.
However, Shen Qi felt sorry for him.
If… If he wasn’t a cripple, then tonight… he would be able to swim freely with everybody here. However, since his legs were useless, he could only sit on a wheelchair for his entire life. He could not do anything that a normal person was able to do.
Her gaze kept falling upon Ye Moxuan’s body, and Ye Moxuan noticed it soon enough as his piercing gaze fell upon her. Shen Qi was stunned as she quickly averted her gaze.
Ye Moxuan looked at her in a mocking manner.

Not long after Shen Qi lowered her gaze, Yan returned and gave her a tug. “What nonsense are you thinking about? How could you not watch the awesome competition just now. I took a lot of pictures, all of them of Vice President Ye. I will send it to you once I get back.”

When she mentioned ‘naked body’, Shen Qi suddenly recalled the events of that stormy night where the man had her pinned underneath him in the leather seat. The memory of his deep panting and hot palm of his couldn’t help but make her tremble under his touch.
She paled in that instant as she cried out, “Stop talking nonsense!”
Then, she turned around and walked back to her seat and sat down upon it. Then, she took a sip from the cup in her hand. She did not notice that her cup had been secretly swapped by another person.
When Gao Yun and Cui Limin, who were standing not far away, saw this, the corners of their mouths curled up into a triumphant smile.
“What did I tell you, Gao Yun. We will always have a chance to take her down.”
Gao Yun smiled triumphantly. “As long as she drinks from that cup, in a moment she will feel the temperature of her body rising, and she will start to feel dizzy. Tell Supervisor Xu to wait behind there for her.”

Cui Minli quickly sent a text message to Xu Liao to notify him of the situation.
The women’s swimming competition was about to start as well, so Yan and Han Xueyou went to change their clothes. Shen Qi was shocked the moment the women came out. That was because most of them were wearing bikinis. Not a single one of them was wearing a one piece swimming costume or a more modest looking one. The reason for it was that today was the gathering place for all the outstanding men in North City. As such, all of the women here wanted to vie for their attention.
Since both Xueyou and Yan were going to participate in the competition, Yan reminded Shen Qi to cheer for her before she left. Shen Qi agreed, and she also promised that she would take lots of nice, sexy pictures of her.
Yan walked away happily.
Shen Qi ate two mouthfuls of fruit. Then she took out the phone that Yan gave to her and prepared to take some pictures.
The only thing was, she started to feel dizzy the moment she stood up.
Hence, she sat back down as she reached out her hands to massage her temples. That was weird. Why do I feel so weak all of a sudden? Did I not sleep well yesterday? When she thought about this, Shen Qi shook her head. However, she noticed that there were double images of the pastries on the table.
She still had to take pictures for Yan and Han Xueyou.
With that thought in mind, Shen Qi reached out her hand and pinched her thighs. The pain that she felt instantly woke her from her stupor. Hence, Shen Qi stood up and walked toward the swimming pool.
After taking several steps, Shen Qi noticed that her body was turning to jelly as she collapsed to the side.
Somebody caught her. “Hey! Are you alright?”
It was a woman’s voice. Shen Qi shook her head and thanked the person.
Even if she did not have any strength left to take the pictures, she had to tell Yan and Xueyou about this. Otherwise… they would still be waiting for her.
“Hey! Are you ill or something? Let me help you to the back so that you can rest there.” A familiar voice rang out. Shen Qi felt that the voice was familiar, but no matter how much she tried to recall it, she could not remember who the voice belonged to. She tried to take a look to see who it was. However, her vision was just too blurry.
Amidst the fogginess of her mind, Shen Qi nodded her head.
Hence, she was helped to the back. Shen Qi thought of something as she said in a low voice, “Can you please help me to tell Yan…”

The door behind her was slammed shut. Shen Qi thought that she was about to fall, but she had fallen into an embrace.

A familiar male voice rang out. Shen Qi was still in a daze, but she subconsciously tried to struggle free from that man’s embrace. That person might have felt that since the doors were closed, it was ok to allow her to back off.
Shen Qi tried her best to open her eyes wide to see the person in front of her.
The blurry image of a man started to come into focus.
“Supervisor Xu?”
The person in front of her was actually Xu Liao!
When he heard her calling his name, Xu Liao gave her a perverted smile.

“Gao Yun. She is our matchmaker. After we are done with this, we should thank her properly.”

Xu Liao was stunned by what she said and could not give any response for a while.
“What do you mean by that? Are you really with Young Master Ye?”
“That’s right!”
Shen Qi was doing all she could to save herself. She bit her lip and said, “He’s just mad at me. He demoted me just to vent his anger. If he really didn’t want to see me anymore, he wouldn’t keep me here. He did that because one day he would want me back at his side!”
Shen Qi did not even believe in what she was saying, but she had no other choices. Everyone was at the banquet now and she was in this ruin, no one would come to rescue her no matter how hard she shouted.
“Is it true?” Xu Liao was dumbfounded. If Shen Qi was right, then he would not dare to touch her.
He would lose his job if he laid a hand on her.
“If you let me go now, I can pretend that nothing ever happened and I won’t expose you. We’ll still be colleagues as before. But if you dare to touch me… I swear, even in death, I will pull you down from that position. Manager Xu, you won’t do this kind of thing that doesn’t pay off, right?”
Xu Liao became silent with his eyes shut, thinking.
“Xu Liao, don’t be fooled by her. She’s been transferred to our department for a long time already. If Young Master Ye really misses her, she wouldn’t have been sent to your department in the first place.” A voice was heard from outside. It was Cui Minli, who was here to guard the place.
She heard clearly what was going on inside.
She was afraid that Xu Liao would be fooled, so she immediately warned him.
Xu Liao was taken aback for a moment. “Yeah, if Young Master Ye really missed you, how come he wouldn’t even take a look at you? How dare you lie to me!”
“I’m not lying to you!” Shen Qi snarled. “I have made my point clear. Think it over! Do you want your career or me?”

“Who’s Qiang Wei?” Shen Qi sneered. “Is she more powerful than Ye Moxuan?”
Xu Liao was at a loss.
But Shen Qi could no longer wait. She could feel the stream of heat coming from her abdomen and it was overcoming her. If she dragged on any longer, she was afraid that she could not stay conscious anymore.

Shen Qi raised her hand and bit her fingers to keep herself awake.
She slowly walked toward the door as she said, “With your position, you can have any woman you want… don’t suffer a setback because of me. Come here and open the door.”

On the other hand, the activities at the banquet were going on as usual.
Yan was halfway through the swimming competition when she noticed that Shen Qi was not around. She became absent-minded and without her noticing, Han Xueyou surpassed her and won the competition.
“Didn’t you say you’d win? Why did you become so slow? Were you running out of energy?”
Upon hearing that, Yan gave her a cold gaze and said, “Don’t overestimate yourself. Didn’t you notice that your friend is missing?”
Han Xueyou was stunned. Her gaze swept across the place; she really couldn’t find Shen Qi.

Yan got out from the pool and took a towel to wipe her body. She went to where Shen Qi was last seen but could not find her after a long search, and the phone she gave Shen Qi was missing as well.

Ye Moxuan sneered. “Tell her to eff off.”
Too many girls had come up to him and tried to strike up a conversation with him. But Ye Moxuan was too cold. Just a gaze was enough to scare them away. Some who were bold enough to come over were chased away by Xiao Su.
“Young Master Ye, I don’t think she’s coming for you.”
Xiao Su’s words made him frown. He took a look at the woman.
He withdrew his gaze after just a look, and never looked at her body another time.
Instead, the looks of Shen Qi in a sexy red dress crashed into his mind.

Speaking of which, Ye Moxuan realized that the woman was out of his sight and nowhere to be seen.
“Young Master Ye, please save Shen Qi!”

Yan walked over in a hurry, still panting. “Qi is missing!”
“Missing?” Xiao Su narrowed his eyes. “What happened? How did you know she’s missing?”
Yan rephrased her words and said clearly and concisely, “She promised to take photos for us before the swimming competition started. But after the competition ended, she was nowhere to be seen. I did a long search around the place and still couldn’t find her. Qi isn’t someone who would leave without informing anyone. So I suspect that she’s in some kind of trouble now.”
Her words hit hard on Ye Moxuan’s heart. His hands on his thighs clenched into tight fists. “Where was the last time you saw her?”
Yan gave it a thought and said, “She was wearing a dress so she didn’t move around. She was just over there with a drink in her hand.”
Ye Moxuan raised his jaw. Xiao Su got his hint and went over to ask around.
Less than two minutes later, Gao Yun was grabbed by a group of people as they came over.
She looked a little battered as she was struggling.
“W-What are you trying to do? Let go of me!” Gao Yun was proud and imposing, but when she saw Ye Moxuan she felt a chill being sent down her spine. She did not dare to speak anymore or look Ye Moxuan in his eye.
Yan stood aside. “Before the competition started, she and her friend came over to provoke us. There were two of you. How come only you are here now?”
A scary thought crossed her mind, then she snarled, “Where’s your friend? Did you guys come together to do something bad?”
Gao Yun didn’t want to be accused of such a crime, so she could only bite the bullet and defend herself.
“What the hell are you talking about? What bad things can we do? Stop making things up!”
“I’m making things up? Where’s your friend then? Can you tell me where she is?”
“She just went to the restroom!”
Xiao Su interrupted them impatiently. “Stop arguing. Gao Yun, someone pointed out that you took Shen Qi away. Now, lead us to where she is.”
His words made Gao Yun’s face turn pale at once.
Yan regained her senses as well. “It’s you who harmed her! You guys always bully her and frame her in the company. Now you’re at it again! Where did you take her to?”
Gao Yun bit her lip and denied, “I didn’t harm her. She said she was not feeling well, so I helped her to the back for some rest!”
Ye Moxuan stared at Gao Yun with a sharp gaze. She immediately felt as though two shapeless mountains had weighed on her shoulders, forcing her to bend her back.
“I want to see her in one minute. And if anything happens to her, I’ll want you dead.”
His cold voice was resemblant of hell. Gao Yun’s face turned completely pale, her body trembling.
Xiao Su snarled, “Lead us to where she is now!”
“Yes…” Gao Yun couldn’t think of anything else as her mind was filled by Ye Moxuan’s words. If anything happened to Shen Qi, then she’d… She didn’t want to die yet!
“I’ll lead the way. Hurry!” Gao Yun knew what was going on over there. She got straight up and moved to the back.
“Follow her.”
Xiao Su pushed Ye Moxuan’s wheelchair and followed her. Yan was stunned for a while. When she regained her senses, she quickly followed them.
Everyone else was enthusiastic as very few people knew what’s going on. After all, there were really many people here. Han Xueyou was drowned in all the glory and attention when she turned her gaze toward Ye Moxuan. To her surprise, Ye Moxuan left the place with a gloomy look and never bothered to look at her.
The smile on her face vanished in an instant.

The door was open and Xu Liao lay by the door motionless. He suffered multiple injuries on his face as his face was swollen, and beside him was a terrified Cui Minli.
When she saw Gao Yun, she moved to come over. Then she saw Ye Moxuan who was not far away, so she stopped right away.
Shen Qi was still clad in the red dress, but the fabric on it was now broken, obviously torn up by someone before. Fortunately, her body was covered with a big male jacket.
Ye Linhan held the petite Shen Qi in his arms. The effects of the drug were too strong, so Ye Linhan decided to knock her out.

Ye Moxuan’s gaze was bottomless.

The normally elegant and gentle Ye Linhan was now out of control in anger. If he was not holding Shen Qi in his arms, he would have rushed forward, grabbed his collar and given him some punches.
Suddenly, Shen Qi moved in his arms as she was whispering something half-consciously. When he leaned in to listen carefully, the name Ye Moxuan was heard clear and crisp.
His pupils shrank in an instant and he turned to look at Ye Moxuan.
Her voice was soft and featherly, with a hint of grievance, as though she was crying for help. Her eyes did not open, obviously acting the way she was subconsciously.
“You heard that?” Ye Moxuan’s gaze was as sharp as a knife. “She’s calling out your name.”
That voice was like a hand that snatched his heart as his eyes narrowed dangerously.
“But where were you when she needed help?”
A faint sense of guilt flashed in his eyes as his lips opened. “Give her to me.”
“Moxuan, I don’t want to meddle in your business, but…” Ye Linhan hugged Shen Qi closer as he spoke, his voice as cold as ice. “If you cannot protect her well, then I suggest that you divorce with her.”
After he finished, he lifted Shen Qi off the ground and turned to leave.
“Vice President Ye!” Xiao Su shouted out to him before he could move. “What are you talking about? She’s Young Master Ye’s wife. Please put her down!”
“I’m sorry, but I will get her treated. If you guys really want to save her, follow me.”
“You…” Xiao Su said.
Ye Linhan walked away in big strides.
Xiao Su anxiously looked at Ye Moxuan. “Young Master Ye!”
Ye Moxuan’s face remained cold and did not say anything.
“Young Master Ye!”
Ye Linhan moved forward with Shen Qi in his arms, but stopped after a few steps, because Shen Qi, who was half-conscious, suddenly held tightly onto his shirt. “P-Put me down.”
“Shen Qi?” Ye Linhan frowned and looked at her, displeased.
“Put me down.” Shen Qi begged him for another time. She gathered all her strength to open her eyes, looking straight at Ye Linhan.
Her cold gaze was now as red as blood. Because she was drugged, her body appeared pinkish, making her look tender and delicate. He had no choice but to knock her out just now. But now that she’s awake, does that mean she’s going to act up again?
“Don’t move.” Ye Linhan whispered to her. “You’re drugged. I’m sending you to the hospital.”
Shen Qi shook her head. “I’m not going to the hospital.”
Her voice was low, but she was adamant.
“Must you stay? Even if… he doesn’t care about you, must you stay?” After asking that question, his heart was filled with hatred. He regretted voicing his support to their marriage in front of their grandpa.

Ye Linhan’s heart softened. He couldn’t do anything but put her down and help her stand firmly on the ground.

Ye Linhan was furious. When he was about to move forward, he was stopped by Shen Qi.

She was explaining herself to him.
After the explanation, Shen Qi did not stay any longer. She moved past Ye Moxuan as she was ready to leave. Xiao Su hurriedly asked, “Young Lady Shen, where are you going?”
Shen Qi continued to move forward without saying anything.
Ye Linhan stood still and clenched his fists, resisting the urge to move forward.
He was holding it back because he could see the determination in Shen Qi’s eyes. If he rushed over now, then all her effort would be wasted.
Everybody was startled; the most startled were none other than Gao Yun and Cui Minli.
All this while, after Shen Qi was demoted, they used all kinds of tricks to frame and bully her. Previous attempts were unsuccessful, but this time they managed to hurt Shen Qi badly.

Yan stood still, dumbfounded, as if one of her acupoints was struck.
After a while, she suddenly thought of something and turned to run toward the direction where Shen Qi disappeared.
“Xiao Su.”
Xiao Su regained his senses after being called out by Ye Moxuan. He turned Ye Moxuan’s wheelchair to the direction where Shen Qi left and chased after her.
Shen Qi dragged her weak body forward with her hand pressing against the wall. Everything she saw duplicated and she almost tripped herself several times.
“Qi!”
Yan rushed to her and held her up. “Are you okay?”
“Yan?” Upon hearing her voice, Shen Qi explained in a weak voice, “Sorry… I didn’t get to take pictures for you.”
“Why are you talking about this now?” Yan grabbed her arm. “Your body is burning! How dare Xu Liao drug you! Isn’t he aware that he’s ugly and unworthy of you? I’ll send you to the hospital now. Hold on!”
“Okay…” Shen Qi nodded her head as she leant on Yan’s body. Yan just got up from the water and the beads of water on her body hadn’t dried off, so her skin was cool and comfortable for Shen Qi to lean on.
Shen Qi felt much better and said, “Thank you.”
Yan was not used to the sensation as Shen Qi’s body was as hot as fire, but at the same time she felt sorry for Shen Qi. “There’s no need to thank me. Let’s hurry.”
“Hold on.”
After walking for a short distance, Xiao Su managed to catch up to them while pushing Ye Moxuan’s wheelchair.
“Young Lady Shen, let me send you to the hospital.”
Shen Qi was being helped by Yan when she glimpsed them. She noticed that Ye Moxuan had remained emotionless, so she refused to say anything.
“Move no further,” Ye Moxuan opened his thin lips and said.
Shen Qi didn’t stop, but on the other hand Yan unconsciously stopped moving.
There was no way around. She always had to succumb to Ye Moxuan’s dominance.
“Qi, why don’t… you let Young Master Ye send you to the hospital?”

He was fast in turning the wheelchair. When Yan rushed over while changing into her clothes, everyone had left.
She stood still for a while, dumbfounded, then scratched her head.
“Maybe… she was taken away by Young Master Ye. Since they’re married, I should let them handle their own matters then.”

Shen Qi looked up in his arms and stared at him with a blurry gaze, as if it was reprimanding him. After a while, she started to struggle. “You won’t trust me anyway no matter how many times I have to explain myself. I don’t want you to send me to the hospital!”
Ye Moxuan was unfazed and stared at her with a cold gaze.
She struggled for a while more, then Ye Moxuan grasped her wrists tightly.
“I trust you.”
Shen Qi was stunned, and looked at him in disbelief. “W-What did you just say?”
“I said I trust you.” Her stunned gaze made him really anxious, so he chided her and tightened his grip on her waist. “I said I trust you. Heard that?”
Shen Qi didn’t respond to him, for it never crossed her mind that Ye Moxuan would utter the words, ‘I trust you’.
After a short moment, Shen Qi lowered her gaze, dispirited.
Ye Moxuan’s gaze turned gloomy and said, “Can we go to the hospital now? Xiao Su, move.”
Xiao Su nodded and sped off.
One minute later, upon seeing that Shen Qi was still down and dispirited, Ye Moxuan said coldly, “If you don’t want to go to the hospital, I can help you using another method.”
Shen Qi didn’t hear him clearly at first, then she regained her senses abruptly and looked up at him with a stunned gaze. “What did you say?”
Ye Moxuan pinched her jaw and leaned in, engulfing Shen Qi with his cold and masculine breath.

Her reaction was too intense, causing Ye Moxuan to feel surprised. “Why are you hysterical?”

Ye Moxuan paused, then asked the question again. “Did you hear that?”
Shen Qi was not feeling well, so she simply muttered a sound. With her hands encircling his neck, she looked up and bit his Adam’s apple.
Her action made Ye Moxuan tense up as the veins on his forehead bobbed. He grasped her hand and said in a solemn voice, “Hold on. Answer my question first. Otherwise… I’ll leave you here.”
Upon hearing that he might leave her here, Shen Qi felt really tired, then she said, “Leave me here then. Throw me off on the roadside and whether or not I’ll survive, that’s my own matter.”
Ye Moxuan frowned.

Shen Qi was stunned for a moment before understanding what he meant. Her mouth twitched, yet she couldn’t say a word.
Ye Moxuan stared at her for two seconds and made a decision on her behalf. “Go to the nearest hotel.”
Xiao Su, who was in the driver’s seat, was speechless. F*ck! How did the tide change so suddenly? I didn’t even have the time to react!
A cold war was still going on between them when they got into the car, but now they are talking about…going to a hotel instead of the hospital?
“Don’t you understand human language?”
Xiao Su hurriedly answered, “Got it, Young Master Ye. I’ll turn on the GPS and look for the nearest hotel now.”

“Bring Song An over.”
“What?” Xiao Su had just reached the food stall and ordered some food. But before he could eat any of it, Ye Moxuan called and told him to bring along a doctor. “I mean… Young Master Ye, aren’t you and Young Lady Shen…”
“Stop your bullsh*t. I want her here in ten minutes. If you take longer than that, you know what happens.” Ye Moxuan hung up the phone as soon as he finished.
Before the call disconnected, Xiao Su heard an enchanting female voice over the phone who uttered, “Help me…”
