That’s a great idea. That idea never crossed Shen Qi’s mind as her initial plan was to wait for Ye Moxuan at Seabay Villa until he was willing to meet her. She admired Yan’s intelligence as she gleefully nodded in agreement. “Okay.”

One of the guards added, “Young Master Ye should be in the company now. You guys should hurry up.”

“Thanks!” Shen Qi thanked the guard before leaving with Yan.

Watching Shen Qi leave, the guards started gossiping.

“This Young Lady isn’t half bad. At least she’s polite to us.”

When they reached the top floor, Shen Qi took another deep breath and got out of the lift without hesitation. However, she was stopped by Yan. “I’ll wait for you in the Finance Department. Come look for me when you’re done.”

After giving it a thought, Shen Qi nodded and said, “Okay. Go to the Finance Department first. I’ll look for you later.”

The door of the lift closed as Yan left. Shen Qi took in a deep breath again and went straight to Ye Moxuan’s office.

She was familiar with this place as she used to work here. We’re just a door apart; he’s right inside the room. Just get in and talk to him. We’ll sort it out.

Shen Qi put on a smile and moved closer, then she raised her hand and knocked on the door. However, there was no reply from within the room. After a moment of hesitation, she decided to knock on the door again, but the room remained silent.

Shen Qi found the situation strange. When she was about to push open the door, she heard a sound before the elevator opened. Yan rushed to Shen Qi and squeezed out some words while panting heavily. “After I went downstairs, I found out that Young Master Ye had left for a meeting. He’s now in the meeting room with Xiao Su.”

“The meeting room?”

“Yeah. It’ll be one more hour before the meeting ends. I don’t think it’s a good time for you to go in now…”

“I’ll wait for him in the office then.”

“Okay, wait for him here. I’ll send you a message when I have more information.”

Shen Qi knew that there was a lounge in the office since she used to hang out there often. Hence, she decided to go there and wait for Ye Moxuan, so they could sort everything out. After Yan left, she pushed open the office door and went straight to the lounge. The lounge was spacious. However, it was a torment to have to wait for an hour. She then slumped onto the big sofa.

One more hour… Why don’t I take a nap for a moment? When Ye Moxuan comes back, I should be awake by then. Soon, Shen Qi slumbered off to slumberland.

She only intended to take a quick nap, but she overslept. Xiao Su followed Ye Moxuan into the office when they were done with the meeting. “Ye Linhan hasn’t shown up at the company? Hmph, they really can’t leave each other now,” Ye Moxuan said mockingly.

When he pushed open the lounge door, he was stunned. His already furrowed eyebrows wrinkled even further. A fresh scent lingered in the air within the room; the scent didn’t belong to this place. The lounge was where he would take breaks, so he had professional cleaners clean it regularly. He had high standards for this space, and that was why he was sensitive to any strange scent.

As soon as Ye Moxuan stepped into the room, this strange fresh scent was immediately noticeable. With his eyebrows furrowed, he soon recognized this familiar scent. What surrounded them was an atmosphere of endless coldness. It was like falling into an ice cave; she was powerless.

The painful sensation on her lips caused her to come to her senses. Her eyes widened as she made a muffled sound and tried to push him away. However, Ye Moxuan now resembled an immovable mountain. Her strength was too inadequate to resist his force.

When Ye Moxuan was done with her, he withdrew his tongue and pushed her away violently.

Plop! Shen Qi plunged back into the sofa she was sleeping on just now, disheveled.

Shen Qi was rendered speechless. She then bit her lower lip and stared stubbornly at him. “I’ve gotten the agreement, but that doesn’t mean I agree to the divorce.”

You didn’t show up the whole night! Was he really that good? So good that you could never leave him for the whole night. You never even wanted to come to the dinner to meet me!”

Shen Qi’s breathing stopped upon hearing what he said as she stared at him in shock. “Y-You knew I was meeting Linhan?”

Shen Qi batted her eyelids as her long eyelashes twinkled like the stars. She was lost in her thoughts. When she came to her senses, she said, “Why didn’t you tell me that you knew I was meeting him? I didn’t mean to lie to you!”

She bit her lower lip as her heart was full of regret. She was wondering why he became so angry all of a sudden. Moreover, his expression and gaze looked strange when he asked those questions. That was why she could never get it out of her mind and was so eager to go to the banquet. She didn’t expect that so many things would ensue.

“You didn’t mean to lie to me?” Ye Moxuan’s mocking gaze fell upon her face as he said, “What a great liar. What did you tell me before you left the house? You said that you had a date with Yan and that you couldn’t turn her down. You even told Xiao Su that you would arrive at the banquet on time. What happened then? You never showed up the whole night!”

“I did!” Shen Qi was eager to explain herself, “I went to the banquet that night, but I was caught up in an accident, that’s why I was late. And I was really meeting Yan that night; I did meet Ye Linhan, but Yan was there as well. I’m not lying!”

Ye Moxuan turned his wheelchair to leave the place after he finished talking.

Suddenly, as if courage had finally reemerged from within Shen Qi, she jumped out of the sofa on her bare feet and blocked Ye Moxuan’s way. “Why are you chasing me away? Don’t you like me at all? Ye Moxuan, you told me to have trust in you, but how can I trust you when you are chasing me away?”

“It has nothing to do with you?” Shen Qi sneered as she pointed at her broken lips. “Then can you tell me why you kissed me just now? Since you want to get a divorce with me, and hate me so much, why did you kiss me?”

Ye Moxuan stared at her without any expression on his face, while Shen Qi stared back at him as their stubborn gazes hung in the air.

After a moment, Ye Moxuan suddenly reached out and pulled her into his arms, before enclosing her lips with his, boldly. Shen Qi was startled for a moment before obediently closing her eyes. Just when she tried to reach out to drape her arms around Ye Moxuan’s neck, she was ruthlessly pushed away. With a plop, she slumped onto the carpet.

“Saw that?” Ye Moxuan reached out and wiped the corner of his mouth as coldness flashed his gaze, which was devoid of any emotion.

Shen Qi parted her lips for a moment before lowering her gaze and putting on a forced smile. “What do you mean? Are you making fun of me? You’re telling me that you can still kiss and hug me even though you’re hateful of me, and I’m nothing more than a toy in your eyes. Am I right?”

“I’m glad you realized that. Now, f*ck off.” Kissing her felt good, but for Ye Moxuan, betrayal was the greatest sin anyone could commit against him. His mother’s suffering left a painful impression on him, so he swore that he would never follow his mother’s footsteps. I know I was at fault that night and I have to do something to make it up to you. It is totally understandable that you’re mad at me because I didn’t come to the banquet as I promised. I’m willing to receive any punishment but please… don’t get a divorce with me.”

Ye Moxuan’s pupils contracted upon hearing that. What is she talking about?

“I really like you…” Shen Qi’s body trembled as she spoke, her eyes drenched in tears. “I was really caught up in an accident. I even made up my mind to be together with you.” She raised her head and stared at Ye Moxuan with determination. “So please don’t chase me away, okay?”

Ye Moxuan was left speechless.

All of a sudden, Shen Qi pounced on him and draped her arms around his neck, plunging her body into his arms.

Ye Moxuan was sitting in his wheelchair when Shen Qi plunged into his arms all of a sudden, causing him and his wheelchair to roll back slightly. In that instant, he could feel her soft arms draping around his neck and her weep was right beside his ear. His cold heart almost softened at that moment.

“Give me one more chance. I won’t meet him again. Please?” Shen Qi finally had the courage to speak her mind as she was hugging Ye Moxuan tightly and did not have to look him in his eyes. At least she tried. That way, she would not have any regrets.

He frowned as he said in a deep voice, “Release me at once!”

Shen Qi bit her bottom lip tightly as she closed her eyes and went for it. “No!”

Ye Moxuan asked again, “Are you going to release me or not?”

“No, I won’t! Over my dead body! Ye Moxuan, I am not leaving you! We already got our marriage certificate. You can’t do this to me!”

“Hah!” Ye Moxuan suddenly sneered in a low voice; his laugh was filled with irony. “You are really good at acting. If I did not know this in advance, I’m afraid that I would be fooled by you!”

Stunned, Shen Qi’s grip loosened slightly. Ye Moxuan took advantage of it, thereupon he grabbed her hands and pushed her away. Shen Qi took two steps back before she managed to stabilize herself, and she looked at Ye Moxuan. In the end, he really did push her away. Did he really want to divorce her?

“It seems that you won’t give up unless you know the truth. Follow me then.” Ye Moxuan pushed his wheelchair out of the lounge. Shen Qi stood still for a while before she followed behind him slowly.

She followed Ye Moxuan into the office outside. Then, he walked toward his office table and opened the drawers. Following that, he took out a Kraft paper bag and threw it on the table. “Take a look at it. After you are done, I want you to get out of my sight.”

How could he put it in such a nasty manner? Shen Qi suddenly felt disheartened. She stood in her original spot without moving and looked at Ye Moxuan.

Her gaze made Ye Moxuan feel uneasy. “What’s the matter?”

Shen Qi slowly turned around and left the office. She happened to bump into Xiao Su when she walked out of the office.

“Because I felt like it. I applied for a leave so that I can come back to the company to have fun.”

“Can’t you see that I am waiting for her?”

“But, we saw her downstairs just now. I think she left.”

“What?” Yan immediately exploded as she jumped to her feet. “She left? When?”
