Nothing To Give But My Heart Chapter 351

Tucking several strands of stray hairs behind her ear, Han Muzi smiled faintly and said, “My brother is too focused on his career. Why don’t you… take him under your wing?”

Han Muzi was staring at Yan when she said that.

Yan’s fair cheeks immediately turned into the shade of pinkish-red when she heard that. “Hush, Muzi, what are you talking about? Your brother wouldn’t fall for someone like me!”

Han Muzi couldn’t resist teasing her upon seeing the sight of her blushing. “Have you asked him before? How did you know that he wouldn’t fall for you?”

“You! I’m not speaking to you anymore,” snorted Yan before turning around.

Muzi smiled, but she did stop teasing Yan.

Assuming an emotionless expression, Han Muzi looked up to Su Jiu who was seated in the front passenger seat, and met her helpless gaze. Han Muzi blinked several times at her, and the two of them exchanged a knowing grin.

Han Muzi had always felt it was a pity at the mention of Su Jiu. Siu Jiu had been by Han Qing’s side all along as his secretary and she was efficient in all aspects of work. If Han Qing had managed to marry such an efficient and good wife, it would have been a great blessing in his life.

Sometimes, I wonder if Han Qing is oblivious to it or he has his own reason. Despite working together for such a long time, he seemed unmoved by Su Jiu. So many years went by. Everyone could tell that Su Jiu had feelings for Han Qing, but Han Qing was the only one oblivious to it. Even a person with a heart made of stone would have given in, but not Han Qing.

Han Muzi had hinted to Han Qing about this many times, but he would always brush it aside. Hence, with time, she stopped bringing it up; she couldn’t very well force Su Jiu on Han Qing just because she felt that Su Jiu was a great woman. Everyone had their preference, after all.

It was such a pity for Su Jiu though. After that, Su Jiu went on a blind date when she went back to her hometown, and who would have thought that she would meet the love of her life from her first blind date? They got married after being together for less than a month, and shortly after, she got pregnant. Ten months later, she gave birth to a beautiful daughter, and she seemed to be enjoying a happy and harmonious family life since then.

Most importantly, Su Jiu’s husband treated her lovingly in every possible way. From another perspective, it kind of made up for the cold and detached treatment Su Jiu received from Han Qing for the past few years.

From Han Muzi’s point of view, there would be no regrets if a woman were to marry a husband who would care for her, protect her, and pamper her.

The car drove steadily toward their destination, and soon, they arrived at their new residential area—Rui Xin Community.

Mr. Nan drove the car into the garage, and everyone got out of the car. Just when Han Muzi was about to grab the luggage, Mr. Nan took over while commenting, “Miss Muzi, let me handle this.”

“It’s okay, I can tow the luggage myself. Besides, it’s not heavy. Let me do it.”

“Let him be,” Su Jiu remarked on Mr. Nan’s behalf. “Why do you think we rushed over from the neighboring city to Su City?”

Han Muzi halted when she heard that. Soon, Mr. Nan gathered all the luggage and towed them while taking the lead toward the house.

“Let’s go.” Su Jiu jangled the keys in her hand. “I’ve got someone to tidy the house for you beforehand. The house is fully-furnished, so all you have to do is to move in.”

“Whoa, Secretary Su, you are so sweet!” Yan shrieked graciously and threw herself at Su Jiu.

Han Muzi held onto Little Bean’s hand while commenting, “Well, let’s head up and have a look.”

The apartments in the Rui Xin Community were mainly duplexes. Han Muzi fell in love at it at first sight the moment she saw the apartment online, so she went ahead and made the purchase immediately.

As they entered the elevator, Su Jiu blurted, “Miss Muzi, honestly speaking, there are many exquisite apartments in North City. You haven’t met President Han for such a long time so you can just stay at the Han residence in North City. Why did you decide to buy an apartment here in Su City? Wouldn’t it be inconvenient for you to travel to and from the Han Group?”

Han Muzi smiled faintly when she heard that, something odd glinting in her beautiful eyes. “I prefer Su City over North City. Besides, the cities are next to each other; it takes only about two hours to come here. I’ll make time and go visit my brother. It’s not a big deal.”

“Well, I’m sure President Han will not mind at all. In fact, he will make time to see you even if you aren’t free, Miss Muzi.”

This part was true.

When she was abroad, Han Qing would travel once or twice a month just to visit her. If time was permissible, he would accompany her for a day or two. If he was swamped with work, he would make a day trip simply to have a meal with her.

In the beginning, I thought that this person… is giving his all as his role as an older brother. He simply spoils me rotten.

Who could possibly take red-eye for more than ten hours just to have a meal with me or just to hear me say his name? Who would do all that and fly right back to work? A robot might not be as capable as he is.

“Sigh, it’s great to have a brother who spoils his younger sister rotten. I’m so envious of you.” Yan was an only child. She had never experienced such sibling love before, so she was always envious of Han Muzi.

When they arrived at the entrance, Su Jiu went ahead to open the door.

Yan was the first one to barge into the apartment the moment the door was opened, with Little Bean followed closely behind.

“Whoa, it really is a duplex apartment. It’s so nice.”

“Mommy has such excellent taste!” Little Bean complimented as well. Side by side, Yan was like an adult-sized child walking next to Little Bean when the two of them cheered happily while hopping around the house. Soon, they climbed up the spiral staircase and headed upstairs.

Han Muzi didn’t have much of a change in her expression; it was as if she was accustomed to such an atmosphere. Instead, she started scanning the surroundings and checking the apartment out with Su Jiu’s company. “To be honest, President Han had already bought you a villa when you bought this apartment. The Han Family has so many properties, and you still spent your own money to buy an apartment.”

Han Muzi chuckled when she heard that. “I like the renovation and fixture style of this apartment. It has a great vibe to it.”

“That’s true, the interior of the duplex looks good indeed. Our house is European style, which is also rather good.”

The two of them chatted and finally settled on the couch in the living room, completely ignoring the cheering and excited screaming echoed from upstairs.

“By the way, Miss Muzi, have you found a job now that you’re back in the country?”

Han Muzi nodded. “Mm-hmm, I am in contact with some people. But… you know what my work is like. It’s more like a freelance job, so I don’t think I’d be required to go in for work officially.”

Su Jiu uttered, “Miss Muzi, President Han suggested this—since you would like to expand your career domestically, you can register your own company. What do you think?”

Register a company? I’ve thought about that as well, but… I’ve been feeling so lethargic for the past few years. Apart from searching for inspiration for my fashion designs, I have to look after Little Bean, which is why I’ve been working on a freelance basis.

She would accept certain invites when she had the time, but she would reject them if she were occupied. That was how she lived her life—willful and carefree.

Because of this, Han Muzi was well known as a willful idler in the fashion world.

“We’ll see. I haven’t decided yet. I will think about it if I need to.”

Su Jiu nodded, then placed the keys on the table and left after making sure that everything was settled.

Meanwhile, Han Muzi walked toward the window and enjoyed the scenery of the garden within the residential community.

I’m finally… back home.

Nothing To Give But My Heart Chapter 352

That night, just as Su Jiu had said, Han Qing drove directly from North City to Su City to meet Han Muzi.

It was late in the evening when he arrived. Since he had already informed them about his visit on the phone in advance, Yan went to the nearby supermarket to buy some ingredients for dinner.

Yan was quite good at cooking, to begin with. In addition to that, when she got tired of having takeaways after spending years with Han Muzi, she had developed excellent cooking skills in order to feed herself.

Both Han Muzi and Little Bean were relying heavily on her for some wholesome home-cooked meal.

When they heard that she was going to make dinner, the thought made Little Bean’s gluttonous mouth water. “Aunt Yan, are we having hotpot later?”

Hearing that, Yan looked at him strangely. “No, we are not. It’s not winter yet. Do you want to get heatstroke?”

Little Bean was displeased when he heard that, and he pouted. “We can also have hotpot in the summer. Don’t you think it is very thrilling, Aunt Yan?”

Oh my goodness, look at him talking…

Yan squinted at Little Bean. Suddenly, she stretched out her index finger and poked his forehead.

“Thrilling? You learned a new term now, huh? You little glutton. Don’t think that I don’t know you want to eat meat.”

“Ouch.” Little Bean rubbed his forehead with his palm, an indignant expression appearing on his fair and tender face. “Will you make hotpot or not?”

“Nope.” Yan turned her back to him and turned on the tap to wash the vegetables. “Your uncle works all year round. Do you know that it takes more than two hours to drive from North City to Su City? He is probably tired enough, attending meetings and appointments, yet you ask him to come over to eat hotpot? It’s the middle of the night. We should make something healthy and hearty for him.”

Hearing that, Little Bean blinked as if he could intercept the hidden meaning behind her words.

Suddenly, he blurted out of nowhere, “Aunt Yan, why do you care so much about Uncle Qing? Do you like him?”

“What are you talking about?” Yan suddenly jumped like a dog being stepped on its tail. She looked around with wide eyes, and when she found that no one was around them, she hurriedly reached over and covered Little Bean’s mouth.”D-D-D-Don’t talk nonsense!”

Little Bean’s mouth was covered, so he could not speak. Instead, he just blinked and stared at her.

The way he looked right now made Yan feel guilty, so she quickly let go of him. “Don’t spout nonsense, alright? Otherwise, I won’t cook for you next time.”

Upon hearing that, Little Bean seemed to have thought of something; he tilted his head and said, “So, will you make hotpot for me?”

Yan stood up, feeling a little annoyed. She took the food out of the bag angrily as she said, “Alright, alright! I’ll make a hotpot for you, okay? My god, I probably owe you some favors in my previous life.”

In the room upstairs, Han Muzi had already taken a shower and changed into a simple T-shirt and a pair of pants. At this moment, she was on the phone while standing beside the window.

“Mr. Lin, I’ve already asked my assistant to take your request during your last meeting. The deadline which we agreed upon is within one month. Tomorrow, I will ask my assistant to go over and take the measurements for Miss Zhao’s size and body shape. After that, I will design the work you request within the agreed time period.”

With that that, Han Muzi paused. Staring at the stars in the sky outside the window, she couldn’t help herself from reminding him, “But it’s already 8 pm. It is my personal time now.”

As soon as the person on the line heard that, he laughed in embarrassment. “Oh, I’m sorry. I was pushed to get an update from you. I shan’t bother your personal time then, Miss Han.”

After ending the call, Han Muzi placed the phone on the table and went to the bathroom barefooted to carry out her skincare routine and dry her hair.

When she came out of the bathroom, she saw her phone vibrating.

She walked over, picked up the phone, saw that it was a call from Han Qing.

“Is he here?”

Han Muzi didn’t answer the call upon the thought. Instead, she went downstairs, put on her shoes, and opened the door.

She saw the weary Han Qing standing at the door as soon as she opened it. The two of them exchanged glances, then she looked behind him. “You’re alone?”

Han Qing genuinely missed her after not seeing her for a long time, so he couldn’t help but reach out and ruffle her hair.

Han Muzi froze and managed to keep herself still without avoiding him. After he had finished ruffling her hair, she commented, “Qing, I’m not a child anymore. It isn’t appropriate for you to ruffle my hair like that.”

“In my eyes, you will always be a child,” Han Qing replied.

Han Muzi frenzied upon hearing this. She bit her lower lips as she turned sideways to let him in. “Qing, can we make an agreement? You can ruffle my hair all you want when we are at home, but can you please not do this when we’re out in public?”

She still remembered the moment she sent him to the airport when he was catching a flight home.

Unexpectedly, before Han Qing left, he ruffled her hair in public.

She recalled that scenario—she was wearing a pair of heels while holding Little Bean, but Han Qing still ruffled her hair indifferently.

In the beginning, Han Muzi was not accustomed to this kind of skinship, but she couldn’t bear to reject him when she saw that Han Qing’s eyes were full of affection and joy after finding his little sister back. In the end, this had developed into a habit later on.

At this moment, Han Muzi even felt as if she was his daughter.

Daughter…

Han Muzi found it both funny and annoying.

“If you really like ruffling people’s hair, go do it to your nephew more often.”

Upon the mention of his nephew, Han Qing walked in and closed the door before taking off his shoes at the entrance. When he saw that there were only a few pairs of women’s indoor slippers on the shoe rack, he couldn’t help frowning. “Why didn’t you prepare mine?”

Hearing that, Han Muzi pouted. “I didn’t know you would be here so early. I haven’t had time to go to the supermarket today.”

With that, she bent down and took out the largest pair of women’s slippers. “If you don’t mind, you can wear this.”

Han Qing looked at the pair of women’s slippers for a long time and finally entered the house barefooted.

“Qing, it’s just slippers. There is no one else in the house so there’s nothing to be embarrassed about.”

“It’s more comfortable this way,” Han Qing said in a low voice.

The two of them walked inside together. As they entered the living room, Yan suddenly walked out of the kitchen and stumbled upon Han Qing, a slightly pink flush immediately appearing on her fair face. “P-President Han, you’re here!”

“Hi.” Han Qingchao nodded, greeting her.

When they exchanged glances, Yan’s face became redder. She bit her lip and said, “I’m still cooking. Why don’t you take a seat first? Supper will be ready soon.”

With that, she turned around and quickly got into the kitchen.

“Uncle Qing!”

At the same time, a small figure sprang out of the kitchen and went straight to Han Qing.

Seeing that little figure, a dash of warmth flashed across Han Qing’s dark eyes as he squatted down to hug him in his arms.

“Yishu.”

Han Yishu was the name that Han Qing gave him.

His nickname was Little Bean, which was given by Yan.

Nothing To Give But My Heart Chapter 353

“Uncle Qing!” Little Bean planted a kiss on Han Qing’s handsome cheek.

Seeing Little Bean’s face, Han Qing was taken aback for a moment. Although he was used to seeing Little Bean, he could somehow see the image of another person superimposed on Little Bean’s face.

Little Bean curled his arms around Han Qing’s neck and hugged him while Han Qing was in a daze.

“Uncle Qing, you must be very tired to drive all the way here. Aunt Yan has prepared a lot of delicious food for you!”

“Really?” Han Qing returned to his senses, smiling.

“Are you leaving tonight?”

“No, I’ll leave tomorrow. Can I sleep with you tonight?”

“Sure!” Little Bean nodded vigorously. “I miss you.”

Watching them from aside, Han Muzi thought helplessly, I’m your biological mother, kid, and yet, you kiss Yan and Han Qing, but not me.

On second thought, Yan and Han Qing treated Little Bean very well and they doted on him like he was their own child. Han Qing spoiled Little Bean as much as he spoiled Han Muzi, while Yan, on the other hand, stayed with Little Bean every day, so much so that she was almost akin to his second mother.

Around ten minutes later, Yan finally opened the door of the kitchen and brought all the dishes out. Upon seeing that, Han Muzi and Han Qing went to help her, fetching plates after plates of dishes to the table before taking their seats.

After Han Muzi sat down and took a bite of the food, she thought of something and suddenly got up to take a bottle of wine.

Upon seeing this, Han Qing couldn’t help frowning. “I thought you have to work tomorrow. Are you sure you want to drink tonight?”

“It’s okay. A little won’t hurt.”

With that, Han Muzi poured a few glasses of wine. Yan winked when she took one of them, to which Han Muzi smiled and said, “Just bear with it for a while. I’ll take you out for some drinks sometime later.”

Yan blushed immediately. “Don’t talk nonsense. I like drinking red wine…”

When the two of them were abroad, they would often buy some beers, and then the two of them would drink until they got drunk.

After some time, as they drank more and more, their alcohol tolerance began to increase.

In addition, after Han Muzi started working, she sometimes needed to entertain her clients, so her alcohol tolerance became even better.

Hence, a few glasses of red wine were nothing to her.

However, Han Qing frowned when he saw this. She had yet to start eating but she was already pouring herself a second glass of wine, so he reached out hastily and held the edge of her glass.

“Qing?” Han Muzi returned to her senses and looked at him in surprise. “What’s wrong?”

“All wine and no food? Don’t you want to eat something first? Can your stomach take it?”

“Of course. I think my stomach can take it.”

Han Qing pulled a long face. Obviously, he was not joking around.

“No. Eat first and drink later.”

When Han Muzi frowned, Yan, who was sitting next to her, said in a low voice, “Hey, don’t reveal yourself, lest we aren’t allowed to drink when the time comes.”

Upon hearing that, Han Muzi returned to her senses and smiled at him slightly. “Got it, Qing. Let’s tuck in. Alcohol and what not… just let it be.”

She sounds quite convincing. Ha!

Yan couldn’t help rolling her eyes secretly after hearing what Han Muzi had said.

In the end, Han Muzi couldn’t control herself and drank two more glasses of wine. Han Qing couldn’t stop her no matter how hard he tried. The red wine had a strong delayed effect that her cheeks were flushed red after drinking, and she lay there, staring ahead blankly.

Seeing this, Han Qing felt troubled and stretched out his hand to nudge Little Bean next to him.

“Are you done, Yishu?”

Little Bean nodded and raised his head to look at Han Qing. “Uncle Qing, don’t worry about mommy. She knows her limits.”

How does he know that? Han Qing narrowed his eyes immediately. “When you guys were abroad, did your mom always do this?”

Upon hearing this, Little Bean instantly realized that he had misspoken, so he quickly diverted the subject and said, “No, Uncle Qing, mommy is very happy to see you now that she’s back, so she drank a little more than usual.”

“Is that so?” Han Qing looked at Han Muzi, whose cheeks were as red as apples, while Yan, who sat beside her, smiled foolishly, holding her glass, hugging Han Muzi’s neck and toasting to her.

Well, since it was because she was happy to see him, he forgave her this time.

Thinking of this, Han Qing cleared his throat and said, “After eating, go upstairs to take a shower. After the shower, tuck yourself in first, okay?”

Little Bean nodded obediently. “Uncle Qing, don’t worry. I won’t cause you any trouble. It’s just that… Aunt Yan seems to be a little drunk. Do you need my help?”

“No, thank you.”

“Then I shall go back to my room first.”

Little Bean jumped off the chair, waved to Han Qing, and walked upstairs with his little chubby legs.

Han Qing’s gaze followed him all the way until the little boy disappeared in his sight. Then, he turned his gaze to the two women opposite him, to the two drunk women.

He felt a little troubled seeing them in such states.

Han Qing stood up—his straight legs looked extraordinarily slender under the table—and rolled the sleeves of his shirt gracefully before tidying up the table slowly.

After he had cleaned everything, he was about to take the bottle of red wine away when Yan suddenly shouted, “Don’t move!”

Han Qing’s arms froze midair immediately and looked at the source of the voice.

Yan let go of Han Muzi and stumbled to get up. Then, she staggered toward him shakily.

“What do you think you’re doing?” Yan snatched the bottle off his hand after she walked over and said drunkenly, “You are not allowed to take the wine from us; otherwise…Muzi will blame me!”

She couldn’t even stand steadily—her body swayed wobbly in front of Han Qing.

Facing his sister’s assistant aka best friend, Han Qing was more patient with her than with the others. He said in a gentle voice, “The bottle is empty, so I’m going to throw it away.”

Hearing that, Yan snorted, “Is it empty already?”

Then, she held the bottle upside down and poured it on her face. After making sure that not a drop was left in the bottle, she smiled and nodded. “You are right! The bottle is indeed empty. Fine, I’ll go back to sleep then.”

After she finished speaking, she took the bottle and walked away. However, she seemed to step on something and suddenly lost her balance and fell backward.

Seeing that she was about to fall, Han Qing reached out and caught her. Yan, on the other hand, let out a loud exclaim as she fell into his arms.

“Stand still!” Han Qing commanded with a stony expression, frowning.

His unfamiliar masculine aura enveloped Yan, who opened her eyes to identify the person in front of her carefully.

After seeing that the person in front of her was her Prince Charming, Yan’s eyes widened in horror, and then… she fainted immediately.

She had become very drunk in front of the man that she liked, to the point where she almost fell down in front of him, but he caught her just in time.

Oh my god, this is so embarrassing! I would rather play dead and treat it as if nothing had happened!

“Um…” At this moment, Han Muzi who was also drunk let out a moan, as if she was uncomfortable, before falling directly onto the sofa.

In reality, their alcohol tolerance was not as good as they claimed. Usually, when no outsiders were around, they would unwind and go crazy together.

However, it became a problem now that Han Qing had witnessed their true state.

Nothing To Give But My Heart Chapter 354

Han Qing somehow managed to take Yan back to her room by dragging and carrying her there. After he had settled her down, only then did he go back downstairs for Han Muzi.

It was probably because she was tired, for Han Muzi didn’t go berserk after getting drunk. Instead, she just fell into a deep slumber on the sofa.

However, when Han Qing almost reached her, she suddenly turned over and almost fell from the couch to the cold, hard floor. He quickly sprinted forward to support her and helped her back to her original position.

After such an episode, sweat broke out on Han Qing’s forehead.

The man who was usually calm and composed became rather flustered at this moment.

Looking at Han Muzi in her sleep, Han Qing shook his head helplessly. “You guys are really troublemakers. Who are the guests now, you ladies or me?”

Forget it. She’s my sister after all.

Han Qing doted on his younger sister a lot. In the end, he got up and carried Han Muzi back to her room.

After settling them down, Han Qing went back to the room to wash up. As soon as he entered the room, he found Little Bean hugging a pillow on the bed, looking at him with bright eyes.

“Uncle Qing, thanks for your hard work!”

Han Qing, who was unbuttoning his shirt, felt like he was pranked for no apparent reason. “Go to sleep.”

Upon his reminder, Little Bean immediately turned around and covered himself with a blanket. “Good night, Uncle Qing. See you tomorrow.”

The hangover was real—when Han Muzi woke up the next day, it was already very late in the morning. She turned around and felt that her head was incredibly heavy. After looking at the bright room, she sat up uncomfortably.

What time is it?

Han Muzi stretched out her hand and grabbed her phone to look at the time, only to realize that it was already ten in the morning. Despite that, she walked to the bathroom for the morning ablutions without any trace of panic.

When she got changed and went downstairs, she saw Han Qing sitting on the couch with a laptop, working.

Seems like he’s in a video conference.

Han Muzi didn’t greet him. Instead, she went straight to the kitchen and poured herself a glass of water.

When she came out, Han Qing was done with the video conference. “You’re finally up?”

“Qing, don’t you have to go to work? Why aren’t you going to the company?”

“I want to go, but I can’t stop worrying about you ladies, what’s with you guys having drunk so much yesterday.”

Hearing that, Han Muzi stuck out her tongue mischievously. Initially, she didn’t want to drink so much, but she gradually got carried away and forgot to restrain herself.

She honestly didn’t remember a thing. At this moment, she could only look at Han Qing and ask, “Qing, I haven’t said anything nonsense last night, have I?”

“What do you think?” Han Qing fired back.

Han Muzi smiled awkwardly. “How would I know? If I knew, I wouldn’t have had to ask you.”

“When you were abroad, did both of you do this often?”

Han Muzi froze for a moment before shaking her head immediately afterward. “Absolutely not. We only did this once in a blue moon…”

“Once in a blue moon?” Han Qing raised his eyebrows, yielding a dangerous look in his eyes.

“We don’t—” Upon seeing Han Qing’s serious expression, Han Muzi realized that this wouldn’t end well, so she immediately changed tracks and walked to him. “Qing, we only had a glass or two as a form of celebration for a job well done occasionally. It’s nothing much, certainly not what you thought it was, and it definitely wasn’t like what happened last night.”

To be honest, it was worse than he could imagine. They didn’t drink as much as they usually did last night.

Well, technically speaking, it’s definitely different from last night.

Realizing that he was so pissed by them that his anger had somehow started to dissipate, Han Qing stretched out his hand and massaged his aching temples. “Well, you have to take care of yourself. I won’t restrain you in what you want to do, but if you often indulge yourself like this and don’t care about your health, you have no say when I get someone to watch over you when the time comes.”

The last sentence caused Han Muzi to grimace slightly. “Get someone to watch over me? What do you mean?”

Han Qing stopped talking and stared at her with pursed lips.

Han Muzi fluttered her eyelashes and asked awkwardly, “Qing, it isn’t what I thought, is it?”

“More or less.” Han Qing turned around and donned his suit that was hanging on the hanger next to him. While buttoning the suit, he said sternly, “You are not young anymore; you’re a mother. If you don’t take care of yourself, I must find someone to take care of you.”

“You only know how to lecture me. Why don’t you look at yourself? I’m just your sister, and as my brother, there is no one watching over you too.”

She retaliated after a slight pause, but there were no changes in Han Qing’s expression.

Instead, his voice turned colder.

“You finally realize that I am your brother now.”

Upon hearing that, Han Muzi stopped speaking at once.

After all, he was the elder brother. As his younger sister, she should listen to his advice obediently.

“I have to go back to North City. When are you planning to go back to the Han residence?”

“Can I—”

“No.”

“Alright, got it. I need to go there for a job two days later anyway. I will drop by then.”

“Okay.”

Han Qing left after he got a satisfactory answer from her.

After he left, Han Muzi stood by the window and ruffled her long hair, feeling a little distressed. In all honesty, Han Qing treated her really well. However, he could be very strict and scrupulous at times, minding her like a father minding a daughter.

She could give in to other things, but she really couldn’t do the same in terms of romantic relationships.

Although he did not arrange any blind date for her in the past five years because of Little Bean and her state of mind, what he said just now showed that he had the intention to do so.

It was probably only a matter of time before a blind date was arranged for her.

I have to think of something fast! How can I make Han Qing forget about this?

When she was thinking, sfootsteps rang behind her as Yan rushed downstairs looking at her nervously.

“Your brother is gone?”

Han Muzi turned around. “Yeah. What’s wrong?”

Yan clutched her chest with an upset look on her face. “Oh my god, I almost died of shame! I can’t believe that I got drunk last night! I woke up this morning and realized that I can’t remember anything about last night!”

“So?” Han Muzi walked past her nonchalantly and said indifferently, “What’s wrong with that? I was also drunk.”

“I’m different!” Yan quickly caught up with her and said miserably, “You are his sister, but I am just your assistant!”

“So?” Han Muzi turned around, leaning against the table with her hands crossed in front of her chest as she looked at Yan leisurely.

Yan cupped her cheeks regrettably. “How can a heartless woman like you understand my feelings? I am not his sister; I am just an ordinary woman, and I was actually drunk in front of him. My reputation must be ruined. In your brother’s eyes, I must be a two-bit nobody!”

“So what? You don’t care, do you? Don’t tell me that—” Han Muzi raised her eyebrows and looked at her in amusement.

Yan’s expression changed; it was only then did she realize that she had given something away at this moment. At once, she glared back at Han Muzi.

“Do you like my brother?” Han Muzi leaned over and asked in a low voice.

“Oh, cut it!” Yan walked away from her. “There is no such thing!”

Nothing To Give But My Heart Chapter 355

Yan’s shy appearance prompted Han Muzi to tease her more, but just as she was about to do that, her cell phone rang.

Initially, the two of them exchanged confused glances but after a while, Yan returned to her senses. “Oh no! I have an appointment today to take the measurements of the client! They must be calling to remind us.”

Upon thinking of this, Yan’s expression changed. Sh immediately turned around and rushed upstairs without uttering another word

Han Muzi glanced at the time. There was still a few hours before the appointment.

It was said that the actress would come to Su City today, and it would take them about 20 minutes to reach there.

Well, she should have enough time.

Han Muzi quietly kept note of the time. Five minutes later, Yan had finished dressing up and walked downstairs. She then shoved her phone into Han Muzi’s hand and ran to the shoe cabinet to put a pair of shoes on.

“Time is running out. Book a cab for me, hurry.”

Shrugging helplessly, Han Muzi took the phone, entered the password, and booked a taxi.

“It’s done.”

Yan took the phone from her and rushed out while yelling, “Heartless woman, you know that I have a job today, yet you didn’t remind me last night and made me drink so much—”

Thud!

After the door was closed, Yan continued, a depressed look on her face, “You also made me embarrass myself in front of my Prince Charming, argh! Geez, I’m going to be late!”

After Yan left, Han Muzi went upstairs to wake Little Bean up.

He was still sleeping when she entered his room, looking especially comical with his little body hugging a large pillow.

“Little Bean, rise and shine,” Han Muzi called his name while sitting down on the edge of the bed.

“Um…” Little Bean responded lazily without moving his small body, still hugging the pillow and sleeping soundly.

Han Muzi glanced at the time. “It’s almost noon. Come on.”

Little Bean opened his eyes and looked at her sleepily.

Just a glance, and Han Muzi was startled.

They are so alike…

After Han Muzi gave birth to him and watched him grow up, she felt that her son’s facial features resembled Ye Moxuan as days passed by. She even laughed at herself after realizing the thoughts in her head.

After so long, why do I still think about him? That must be why Little Bean looks like Ye Moxuan so much.

However, when Yan had also accidentally brought up the subject, it sent chills down Han Muzi’s heart.

Is it because Ye Moxuan and Ye Linhan are brothers that Little Bean looks like Ye Moxuan? Because they share the same gene pool?

Otherwise… how else can I explain why he resembles Ye Moxuan so much?

As Little Bean’s facial features became more prominent as he grew up, he looked exactly like the carbon copy of Ye Moxuan, looking just like his cute miniature version.

For a long time, Han Muzi didn’t quite understand the reason behind this. After some time, she didn’t brood on this subject anymore. After all, it was useless to think into this.

She would only need to focus on living her life well and raising Little Bean.

“Get up,” Not at all upset, Han Muzi called him gently.

After Little Bean saw that it was Han Muzi, he reached over to rub his eyes and sat up obediently. “Uhm… Mommy, I think I’ve overslept today.”

“You finally realized this. What did you do last night? Had a hard time getting to sleep?”

Little Bean looked at her blankly. “Mommy, I couldn’t sleep last night, so Uncle Qing read me a long story.”

Hearing that, Han Muzi felt touched. Han Qing seemed to be in good spirits when she spoke to him earlier, so she didn’t expect that he—

This man is too good at hiding himself, especially in front of me, his little sister. He always neglects his body.

Thinking of this, Han Muzi patted Little Bean’s cheeks lightly. “Alright, get up now. Aunt Yan has an errand to run today, so I’ll take you out for lunch. We will also drop by the nearby supermarket to see if there is anything we need.”

As soon as he heard that they were going to the supermarket, Little Bean got up from the bed immediately. “Alright, Mommy! Just give me ten minutes!”

He got out from the bed pretty quickly.

Han Muzi went back to her room to get changed and put on some makeup.

When she was done, she looked at herself in the mirror in a daze.

Since when have I become someone who is unable to leave the house without makeup?

Sure enough, time has no mercy. No matter who we are, our appearance will change silently with the passing of time.

“You’re doing quite well in North City, so why did you move to Su City?”

In front of a French window, a man stood with his hands behind him, his slender figure casting a long shadow in front of the window. He didn’t look old wearing the dark-colored suit. On the contrary, he exuded the charm of a mature man. Although he was quite lean, his well-built muscles could be seen through his suit.

His deep eyes narrowed slightly like a fierce falcon as he overlooked the city before continuing to speak, “It’s fine to move here, but since when did you like living in high-rise buildings?”

A middle-aged woman in plain clothes walked out of the kitchen, her hair pulled up into a loose ponytail. Though she looked like a middle-aged woman at one glance, one could see many wrinkles around the corner of her eyes if one looked closely, a tell-tale sign that she was much older than her looks.

The woman put a plate of fruit on the table and ate some grapes.

“So, what are you doing in my place when you are staying in North City? Su City is a city with great landscape and outstanding people. I love it here. What’s wrong with that?”

The man did not answer her. Instead, he stood as still as a statue.

The woman glanced at his back as she brought another grape to her mouth. “Could it be that you are single and lonely, so you came to your aunt in search of a sense of warmth? If that’s the case, I can tell you clearly—Moxuan, I don’t have the kind of warmth you seek. You can see for yourself that I’m living alone.”

“Is that so?”

The man’s voice was indifferent. “Why are you still living alone? You’re so old now.”

“You rascal, is this how you talk to me? You’re so rude!” After speaking, the woman sighed. “Do you think I want to be alone? What happened to your mother has given me too much trauma. After all, I witnessed it with my own eyes. Besides, after doing some body check-ups, I found out that I’m infertile. I can never bear a child of my own so I’ve decided to spend the rest of my life as a single woman. Your mother has entrusted you to me, so I will treat you as my son.”

Hearing that, the man turned around and frowned.

“You?”

“What? Are you unhappy with the arrangement?” The woman slammed her palm on the table angrily.

She was Ye Moxuan’s aunt, Song An.

She got up and tried to pull the man’s ears, but he avoided her easily.

“Anyway, I don’t care. If I get too old to walk, you have to take care of me.”

Ye Moxuan shot her a cold glance before he took his car keys and headed out.

“Where are you going? Look at you, doing nothing all day! Why don’t you go to the supermarket downstairs to buy me something instead?”

Nothing To Give But My Heart Chapter 356

Hearing that, Ye Moxuan frowned. “Did I come all the way here just to buy groceries for you?”

“What’s wrong with that? You came here to see me anyway. Is there any problem with running some errands for me?”

With that, Song An threw a sideways glance at Ye Moxuan.

“No, I’m not going.” Ye Moxuan refused directly. “You go.”

“Sure.” Song An stood up immediately. “Go with me. I need a company.”

Ye Moxuan quietly pursed his lips in slight dismay.

“What? What’s wrong with doing something for me?”

“The supermarket is just downstairs, isn’t it? Do you really need my company?”

“It’s always nice to have an extra pair of hands at the supermarket. Come on.”

Ye Moxuan frowned, but he finally went down with Song An, despite his reluctance.

“The air in Su City is so much better than that in North City; North City is too crowded. Did you know that I was often late for my work because of the traffic jam? It’s just the perfect timing that the hospital transfers me here to Su City. This kind of chance comes once in a blue moon,” Song An said with a wistful sigh as they entered the supermarket. Then, she asked him to get a shopping cart, which he did as told despite his reluctance.

Basically, he would do everything Song An told him to do.

The appearance of Ye Moxuan in the supermarket was sure to turn heads. Many girls gathered around, gawking at him excitedly.

“My God, that man is so handsome! Is that woman his girlfriend? The one who stands next to him.”

“Are you blind? It’s obvious that she is his mother.”

“No way. She looks pretty young.”

“Come on, it’s so obvious that they come from a wealthy family. She’s done a good job of maintaining herself. If you look closely, they have quite similar facial features, so I would say they must be related. Ah, I want to ask him if he has a girlfriend, or whether I can add him on WeChat or something.”

“Dream on! Men like him won’t even look at you. There must be a line of women queuing up to win his heart. Look at you—you have no strong suits. Why would he fall for you?”

Several salesgirls watched regretfully as Ye Moxuan and Song An walked away.

Ye Moxuan had been constantly frowning; no one knew if he overheard their conversations.

Song An, on the other hand, had heard it all. She smiled as she turned around and looked at Ye Moxuan while asking, “Hey, casanova, it seems that my nephew’s charm is still going strong. Wherever you go, girls swoon around you.”

Hearing her words, Ye Moxuan sounded a little annoyed as he huffed, “Aunty.”

“Alright, alright, I won’t tease you anymore. I know you can’t take a joke.” With that, Song An sighed and said helplessly, “Since Shen Qi left, you have—”

“Aunty!” The name seemed to be Ye Moxuan’s Achilles’ heel—he immediately frowned in dissatisfaction and stopped abruptly.

Song An raised her eyebrows and pouted slightly. “Alright, forget what I said. Let’s go.”

The two of them soon went to the second floor.

Not long after Ye Moxuan and Song An went to the second floor, Han Muzi and Little Bean had reached the supermarket. After entering, Little Bean raised his head and asked, “Mommy, can I take off my hat?”

Upon hearing his request, Han Muzi looked around. Perhaps they were out quite early today, for there were no paparazzi around.

Moreover, the reason the paparazzi went to stalk her yesterday was probably because she had just returned to the country. It would be meaningless for them to do the same today, so she assumed they wouldn’t pose a big problem in the future.

Thinking of this, Han Muzi nodded. “Yes, you can. Just take it off.”

When he heard this, he took off his hat happily. “Thanks, mommy.”

Han Muzi reached out and rubbed his little head. “Let’s go and get a shopping cart. We’ll be going to the fresh food area first.”

“Mommy, I want to push it!” Little Bean immediately volunteered and ran with his short legs to get the shopping cart.

When the girls who were previously swooning over Ye Moxuan saw Little Bean, they didn’t pay much attention to him. However, after a second glance, their eyes widened in shock, and they quickly tugged each other’s sleeves.

“See! I’ve told you—such a perfect man like him must be taken. I thought that he only had a girlfriend, but it turned out that he already has a son, and look how big his son is now!”

“Son? What the hell are you talking about?”

“Look at that kid. He looks exactly the same as the man just now!”

The girl’s friends looked in the direction she was pointing and said instantly, “Damn, they are almost 100% alike! How is this even possible? I was still thinking about asking for his WeChat account, but he already has a child! Argh, my heart bleeds!”

“They must have come together as a family for groceries shopping. Let’s just forget about him. Those handsome guys either have a girlfriend or a family. There’s no chance or whatsoever for us.”

One of them couldn’t help speaking to Little Bean, “Little guy, your daddy has gone upstairs.”

Confused, Little Bean pointed at himself, looking extremely cute. “Are you talking to me?”

“Oh my goodness, he’s so cute! He is completely different from that icy cold man!”

The ladies couldn’t help but walk to Little Bean. After pulling out a shopping cart for him, they nodded at him while saying, “Yes, we’re talking to you. Your daddy has gone to the second floor.”

One of the ladies thought she was giving him a kind reminder.

However, Little Bean blinked and looked at her with a pair of clear eyes. Although he didn’t understand what the young lady was saying, she seemed to be a kind person, so he nodded. “Thank you, pretty lady. I know.”

“You’re so cute! Can I… pinch your face, please?” One of them couldn’t help herself from making such a rude request.

Little Bean was stunned for a moment. Then, he stretched out his little index finger. Just when the girl thought that he had allowed her to pinch him, he shook his little finger seriously. “No, you can’t.”

The lady was a little disappointed, and her friends found it to be slightly regrettable too.

Tap! Tap! Tap!

Followed by a fluttering sound of high heels, Han Muzi appeared in front of them with a bag on her shoulders and a smile on her face. “Hi ladies, may I ask what is going on here?”

“Mommy!” Little Bean walked back to Han Muzi and held her hand.

Hearing him calling her mommy, embarassment crept upon their faces. “I’m sorry, Miss. Your son is so cute so we couldn’t help ourselves but talk to him.”

Han Muzi was already accustomed to such situations, but she would normally ask them first out of courtesy.

“I see. Little Bean, say goodbye to the ladies. We still have to go shopping.”

“Goodbye!”

Han Muzi smiled at them and left with Little Bean.

As soon as they left, the girls got together again and started discussing among themselves.

“See? Look at how elegant and charismatic his wife is! We are not on the same level at all.”

Another girl hesitated before saying, “You’re right. Let’s stop being delusional and get back to work.”

“Hey, by the way, they went separate ways. The man went to the second floor but this woman went to the wet market area. What’s going on?”

“What else can it be? They’re buying their groceries separately. Didn’t you see that they came in at different times?”

Nothing To Give But My Heart Chapter 357

“Makes sense.”

“Let’s get back to work!”

Han Muzi took Little Bean to the wet market area. Though he was quite small in size, he insisted on pushing the shopping cart and took the initiative to walk in front of Han Muzi while saying, “Mommy, Aunt Yan makes the best braised fish in brown sauce. Let’s buy a fish and keep it in the refrigerator so that she can cook when she comes back in the evening!”

“Sure! Let’s take a look.”

“Ok!”

Both of them went to the seafood aisle and looked around for a long time before choosing a large and succulent fish. After that, they went to choose some beef.

Although Little Bean looked quite thin and small in size—despite his round cheeks—he was a glutton who lived up to the name. He liked pestering Yan to make delicious food for him, and he was always very happy when he went to the supermarket.

In a blink of an eye, he had added a lot of things into the shopping cart.

When they were abroad, Yan was the one who always took him to the supermarket. Han Muzi rarely set foot there, and even if she did, she only bought daily necessities, so she didn’t know much about buying raw food and fresh produce.

Little Bean, on the other hand, was very smart and sharp. He was able to quickly distinguish the good food from the bad, and he was the one putting food in the shopping cart when he had finished choosing them.

The shopping cart was already full when they came out of the wet market area.

“Sweetie, did you learn all this from Aunt Yan?”

Little Bean nodded. “Yes, Mommy. When you were finding inspiration for new ideas, Aunt Yan and I would go to the supermarket for shopping, and she’s the one who taught me what to buy and how to choose.”

With that, he lifted his chin with his nose high in the air, expecting a compliment.

Han Muzi reached out to caress his little head as she praised him without any hesitation. “Well done! Little Bean, do you want to be a chef when you grow up?”

Hearing that, Little Bean immediately shook his head. “Nope!”

“Why not?”

“Aunt Yan said that my good looks would be a waste if I didn’t become a celebrity.”

Han Muzi was rendered speechless upon hearing that.

What has this woman been telling Little Bean?

She smiled faintly and asked slowly, “Do you want to be a celebrity?”

Little Bean shook his head again. “No.”

Han Muzi’s smile widened. “Then, who do you want to be?”

Little Bean suddenly waved his fists in the air. “Mommy, I want to be a soldier in the future to serve the country!”

Upon hearing, Han Muzi suddenly stopped. Little Bean raised his head and asked, “What’s wrong, mommy?”

“Nothing.” Han Muzi stopped and lowered her head as she pinched Little Bean’s cheeks. “That is great! As long as you like it, I won’t stop you.”

“Thank you, mommy! I knew you would definitely support my dreams!”

Little Bean held Han Muzi’s face and rubbed his face against hers before planting a kiss on her cheeks, widening the smile on Han Muzi’s face. “Oh, you cheeky boy… Let’s go to the second floor to see if we need some daily necessities.”

“But Mommy, this shopping cart may not fit in any more things. Let’s check out these things first before going to the second floor.”

“Alright.”

So, Han Muzi took Little Bean to the cashier to pay. Then, they put their purchased goods aside and went to the second floor together.

Upon reaching the second floor, Han Muzi saw one of the clothes that had a very unique design, so she couldn’t help walking over to take a closer look.

Little Bean looked around and suddenly said, “Mommy, wait for me here. I will get another shopping cart for you.”

“Okay. Be careful.”

Perhaps because Little Bean was quite independent, for Han Muzi was exceptionally relieved to let him wander around on his own.

Little Bean then ran to get the shopping cart.

“Moxuan, help me take the one up there and put it in the shopping cart.” Song An pointed to a mug on the top shelf. Ye Moxuan was tall, so he took it easily by simply stretching out his arms. “Are you done?”

Song An glanced at him. “Why are you in such a hurry? You’ve finally arrived at Su City so why don’t you stay for lunch? I can cook for the two of us. Anyway, I have nothing else to buy here so let’s go to the wet market downstairs to have a look.”

With that, Song An turned around and prepared to walk in the direction she came from. When she walked to the front, she saw a cute little boy pushing a shopping cart with his back facing her, all alone, his small body looking adorably endearing.

At that moment, Song An felt as though she was enchanted, to the point where she almost wanted to walk to him.

“The elevator to the first floor is here.”

An indifferent voice came behind her, pulling Song An back to her senses. She turned around and replied, “Okay, I’ll be there in a minute.”

When she turned around again, she realized that the little boy who was pushing the shopping cart just now was no longer there.

Hmph? He was here just now!

Song An dashed forward to look for him, but she lost sight of the little boy.

On the other hand, Ye Moxuan was probably getting impatient from waiting for her so he pushed the shopping cart over and asked coldly, “What’s wrong?”

“Nothing.” Song An shook her head. “I saw a cute little boy just now. Even the back of his head looks so adorable, but he was gone when I turned around.”

Hearing that, Ye Moxuan couldn’t help frowning. “If you like kids so much, you can have one yourself.”

Song An glared at him. “Nonsense! Having a baby at my age? People would laugh at me!”

With that, Song An turned and left immediately, leaving Ye Moxuan following behind her without any expression on his face.

Song An suddenly said while walking in front of him, “I think you should hurry up and get married. And on top of that, have a baby too. In this case, my status will be ‘upgraded’. I am not busy with work at this moment anyway, so I can help you and your wife take care of your kids.”

Hearing her talking about babies, the expression on Ye Moxuan’s face darkened.

Suddenly, an image from five years ago appeared in his mind—it was the image of Shen Qi quietly begging him to keep the child.

I-If she hadn’t left at that time, would the child be five years old now?

Thinking of this, Ye Moxuan couldn’t help smiling bitterly.

Am I out of my mind? It’s not my child, yet I’m looking forward to seeing this child? Ye Moxuan closed his eyes and massaged his aching temple.

“Don’t ever talk about these things again. It’s a nuisance.”

Song An turned around and glared at him. “Do you think I want to talk about it? You’re not young anymore. Do you want to take my path? That won’t work. If you die alone, I won’t have the courage to face your mother in the afterlife.”

“… Just stop,” Ye Moxuan paused for a moment before commanding. He was particularly upset when he heard her speaking about death.

Song An snorted. “So I’m not allowed to talk about anything now. You really have a lot of demands. People like you have nothing but looks and money. No wonder you’re still a bachelor.”

I have nothing but my looks and money?

Ye Moxuan went silent.

“Come on. Let’s go to the wet market area downstairs to buy some fresh food!”

Nothing To Give But My Heart Chapter 358

“Mommy, I’m back.” Han Muzi had just finished studying the design of the clothes when Little Bean came back with the shopping cart. She turned around and bent over to carry him in her arms.

“Thank you, Little Bean. Come sit in the shopping cart, I’ll push it.”

“Can I?” Little Bean beamed in excitement when he heard that. Rubbing his fingers together, he rolled his eyes playfully. “But that would ruin my image…”

“Hah.” Han Muzi couldn’t help laughing out loud. “What image do you have? You’re just a kid!”

With that, she lifted Little Bean and placed him into the shopping cart. He then grabbed on the side of the shopping cart as soon as he sat down. “Alright then.”

Meanwhile, downstairs…

After Ye Moxuan and Song An got some food from the wet market area, they went to the cashier to pay. The young cashiers looked at Ye Moxuan brightly, and the spark in their eyes dimmed in an instant at the thought of his wife and son.

After collecting the money, the girl at the cashier suddenly realized that they seemed to have bought the same things. Though feeling slightly confused, she still spoke out in a warm attitude, “Sir, do you want to take your wife’s things as well? It’s already paid off.”

Ye Moxuan simply picked up the bag with an indifferent face as if he didn’t hear her.

“Sir?”

Song An could tell that something was up so she narrowed her eyes. “Are you talking to him?”

The girl was a little taken aback. She nodded. “Yeah.”

“You are saying something about his wife?”

The girl was confused by Song An’s puzzled look. She fidgeted for a while before stammering, “J-Just now, there was a very beautiful lady with a boy who came right after you, and she just went upstairs. I-I thought you were a couple.”

Hearing that, Ye Moxuan frowned in annoyance and glared at the female cashier.

Under his fierce gaze, she felt a chill running down her spine and immediately bent her back as if an invisible pressure pressed down on her shoulders.

“Uh…”

Sensing that Ye Moxuan’s mood was off, Song An smiled awkwardly. “The two of us came in together. No one else came with us. Maybe you took them for someone else.”

When the person next to the cashier saw this, she hurried over to help her out of a predicament.

“I’m so sorry! My friend is a little short-sighted. Just now, a lady left her stuff here and said that she would give it to her husband later. And since both of them came together just like you guys, my colleague has misunderstood. I’m really sorry.”

“No worries.” Song An shook her head. “Since it’s a misunderstanding, it’s all good that it’s solved now. It’s not a big deal anyway. Moxuan, come on, stop frowning. You’re scaring this young lady here. Let’s go home.”

With that, Song An dragged Ye Moxuan out of the supermarket.

After they left, the female cashier stood there with red eyes, frightened, her colleague comforting her.

“Are you alright?”

She shook her head and hugged herself. “I’m fine. It’s just that he looked so fierce and terrifying just now.”

“Yeah, I think so too… his gaze was too fearsome. For men like him, although he has good looks, he is as good as a block of iceberg. He probably warms up to no one.”

“Yeah.” The frightened girl nodded. “But… the kid looked so much like him. They—”

“Ah, I don’t know what is going on either, but based on his reaction just now, I doubt they’re a couple. Let’s stop talking such nonsense in the future and just do what the customers want.”

“Okay.”

Han Muzi and Little Bean had been shopping upstairs for a while. When they finally came downstairs and checked out, Han Muzi realized that they had bought too many things that both of them probably couldn’t carry home.

Thinking of this, Han Muzi was a little upset.

She blamed it on the fact that she seldom went to the supermarket and when she did, she only cared about getting what she needed, with no thought to whether or not she and her son could bring them home.

In desperation, Han Muzi had to call a cab and asked the driver to help them with their stuff by offering some tips.

When the driver heard that there would be a tip, he immediately agreed to come over.

Han Muzi and Little Bean waited for a while. While waiting, Han Muzi found a young woman with teary eyes looking at them worriedly.

Although Han Muzi was a little confused at that, she couldn’t be bothered by it and left when the driver came to help them pick up things.

After they left, the girls got together and started chatting again.

“What’s going on? I thought they were a couple, but that didn’t seem to be the case!”

“Even if they’re not, we don’t even dare to provoke that man.”

Not long after Han Muzi and Little Bean got in the car, Yan called.

She’s calling me at this hour? Does this mean that she has finished her work already?

“Mommy, let me answer it! I want to talk to Aunt Yan!”

Han Muzi handed the phone to Little Bean, who answered the call immediately and said in a childish voice, “Aunt Yan.”

“Little Bean? Who put you on the phone?”

“Aunt Yan, Mommy and I bought a lot of food at the supermarket. Can we have braised fish in brown sauce tonight, please?”

Usually, Yan would take the time to talk about food with him, but today, she seemed to have some urgent issues. Not only did she not answer his question, she directly said, “Little Bean, I don’t have time to talk about this now. Is your mommy by your side? Give her the phone. I have something to tell her.”

Little Bean heard the anxiety in her tone and handed the phone to Han Muzi. “Mommy, Aunt Yan seems to be looking for you urgently.”

Hearing that, Han Muzi took the phone, “Hey, Yan. What’s up?”

“Muzi, help! The sky is about to collapse, yet you still have the mood to shop?”

Han Muzi arched her eyebrows. “What is going on? You didn’t tell me anything.”

“Let me tell you, I came to take Miss Zhao’s measurements, but do you know what happened? She actually kept me waiting for an hour just because I was one minute late!”

Han Muzi raised her eyes to look out of the window, just in time to see a bus driving by. There was a poster on the bus, and the girl on the poster was Zhao Yiru, the so-called ‘Miss Zhao’ that Yan was talking about.

Zhao Yiru was a popular celebrity within the country who was pretty influential. She got famous after starring in a time-travel series titled ‘Kingdoms Of the World’. When the TV series was broadcasted, she gained many fans. After that, she starred in several other TV series that went popular too. There were countless directors in the entertainment industry who wanted to invite her to film some TV series, but it was rumored that she was very arrogant in nitpicking the script and she wouldn’t accept mediocre directors and scripts.

When her agent found Han Muzi and asked her to design a dress specifically for her, Yan thought about rejecting it but Han Muzi thought otherwise. After all, there was no reason to reject a business order.

Nothing To Give But My Heart Chapter 359

Although she was quite lazy, she had mouths to feed and bills to pay.

Besides, Yan relied on her to make a living too. On top of that, she would like to provide Little Bean the best quality of life, so she had to work very hard for that. She only lazed around on insignificant easy matters.

Hence, she took the job.

“What happened next?” Han Muzi asked softly.

“Then, I waited for her to finish filming. When she was done, I hurried over to take her measurements. But do you know what she said to me? She had the audacity to tell me that she was tired and that she wanted to rest, so she ditched me, literally.”

Han Muzi was speechless upon hearing that.

Yan complained bitterly, “That’s not all. After she took a break for ten minutes, I went to take her measurements again, and she actually said that I had hurt her in the process! She complained that I was unprofessional, and now she doesn’t allow me to get near her.”

Han Muzi stretched out her hand and pinched her forehead. “And?”

“She asked to see you in person, saying that you are the one who accepted this job, so you must come over to take her measurements. Who the hell does she think she is anyway? So what if she is a popular celebrity?! I’m just one minute late—one freaking minute! I have already apologized profusely for a long time. Yet, after flattering her, she actually ignored me! Argh, I’m so pissed! Han Muzi, let me tell you this. She really got on my nerves today. She wants you to come over to take her measurements, but who is she to deserve this kind of service?”

Han Muzi said flatly, “But isn’t this the reason you called me, asking me to go over and take her measurements in person?”

“Hell no! That’s not what I mean, I’m just really angry, and there’s no one here to listen to my complaints. No, don’t you dare come over! I’m going to fight her to death today.”

Hearing this, Han Muzi couldn’t help letting out a low chuckle and said softly, “So, at the end of the day, you still want me to go over.”

“Muzi!”

“Alright, send me the address. I will go over after dropping Little Bean off.”

“Well then, I will send the address to you immediately. Muzi, please come and save me. I’m going nuts here.”

Yan, who just said that she was going to fight with Zhao Yiru to death, changed her tone immediately.

Han Muzi was speechless upon hearing that.

Han Muzi put her phone away after ending the call. Just when she was about to lower her head to explain to Little Bean, he spoke first, “Mommy, is Aunt Yan in trouble? Just go and help her. I can be at home by myself.”

Perhaps because Little Bean grew up in a single-parent family, he was very sensible and considerate for his age, which made Han Muzi feel even more sorry for him.

She reached over and caressed his head tenderly. “You are so thoughtful, Little Bean. Mommy is going to help Aunt Yan now, and I will bring her back to make you her special braised fish later.”

Upon the mention of the braised fish, Little Bean’s eyes immediately lit up as he nodded vehemently. “Yippee!”

The driver was very happy when he received the payment for the fare and some tips. After sending them to their neighborhood, he even helped them carry everything to their doorsteps, but he didn’t enter their apartment out of courtesy. As Han Muzi wanted to go to Yan, she asked him to wait for her downstairs for five minutes.

The driver happily agreed and took the elevator down.

After that, Han Muzi and Little Bean carried the things they bought into the apartment with all their forces and put them in the refrigerator. After they had finished sorting out their stuff, she said, “I’m going out now. Considering the commuting time and working hours, I should be back in the afternoon. If you are hungry, you can eat some bread first. Is that alright?”

Little Bean nodded. “No problem, mommy.”

When Han Muzi was walking toward the door, she couldn’t help turning around and asked, “Little Bean, um… why don’t you come with me? When the work is over, Aunt Yan and I can take you out to eat.”

“That’s fine, Mommy. It’s a bit troublesome to bring me along. Just go and help Aunt Yan out. I can make my own lunch!”

With that, he stepped forward and kissed Han Muzi on the cheeks and then waved to her, beckoning her to leave soon so that she could come back earlier.

Dejected, Han Muzi left.

For many occasions, she wanted to accompany Little Bean more.

After all, he didn’t have a father, so she couldn’t allow him to get any lesser motherly love from her.

However, things didn’t usually work out perfectly most of the time.

Since she wanted Little Bean to have a good quality of life, she had to work hard to earn money; once she was engrossed in her work, she would often ignore or even neglect Little Bean. It was very conflicting.

Fortunately, Yan had been by her side over the years, and she had showered him with plenty of love and care.

Little Bean, just wait for me. I will be back soon.

Han Muzi told the driver the address after she got into the car. He then turned around and left the Rui Xin Community.

After driving for a while, the driver started chatting with her enthusiastically.

“That cute little boy is your son, right? He is so adorable! I have rarely seen one so cute throughout my driving years.”

Hearing that he was praising her son, Han Muzi nodded and beamed widely.

“Yes. He’s my son.”

“He has inherited great genes from his parents, and he is so well-behaved and obedient. But, how come you are all alone with a child?”

Hearing this, Han Muzi lowered her eyes and hid her emotions behind her long eyelashes before saying softly, “His father is on a business trip today. He will be back tonight.”

Of course, not every stranger had malicious intentions, but she must remain vigilant, seeing that she was a single woman who was raising a child alone. The driver had asked her such personal questions even though they had barely known each other, so she had to be on guard.

“Ah, I see, I see. That’s nice.” The driver was all smiles, not thinking too much into it.

He drove at a steady yet fast pace, so they reached the destination in no time.

“I have fetched a lot of people in this area, many of whom are young actors and celebrities, but… judging from your outfit, you don’t look like one.”

“You’re right, I’m not. I’m here to meet someone.” Han Muzi nodded and opened the door after paying him.

After Han Muzi got out of the car, she sent a message to Yan, telling her that she had arrived and asking her to pick her up.

Yan asked her to wait for a while. Two minutes later, she appeared in front of Han Muzi.

“Muzi, over here!”

Han Muzi looked toward the direction of the sound and saw Yan standing at the entrance. With that, she put away her phone and walked over.

When Yan laid eyes on Han Muzi, she felt as if she had just seen her savior; she was so moved that she almost burst into tears.

After Han Muzi walked over, she even stretched out her arms to hug her.

“Muzi! Wonderful! You are finally here! If you are not here any sooner, I’m going to be tortured to death by that vicious woman. It’s so hot out here, yet she made me wait outside for so long.”

When they hugged, Han Muzi saw beads of sweat behind her ears; even her collars and back were soaked with sweat.

Han Muzi’s expression darkened. She pursed her red lips and said coldly, “Let’s go and settle this quickly. Bring me to her.”

Nothing To Give But My Heart Chapter 360

“Alright. Come with me.” Yan took Han Muzi’s hand and walked inside.

There were many people on set. As they were filming an ancient Chinese drama, Han Muzi saw many actors in traditional costumes as soon as she walked in. However, as it was summer, most of them were very sweaty.

Each of them had prepared a mini fan to cool themselves, while some even took off their costumes and put them aside, wearing only vests and shorts with a heavy crown on their heads, looking quite ludicrous.

Han Muzi glanced briefly at the surrounding while following Yan in.

Upon seeing Han Muzi and Yan, the assistant director of the set stepped forward and stopped them. “Who are you and what are you doing here? We are filming and no fans are allowed in here. Where is the set manager? Hey, what the hell are you doing, letting them in?”

Hearing his name, the set manager rushed over and explained when he saw that it was Yan, “Assistant director, they are not fans. They are here to see Zhao Yiru.”

“Zhao Yiru? What for?” The assistant director asked, looking at Yan first, then at Han Muzi.

When he saw Han Muzi, his eyes lit up.

Han Muzi raised her hand to pull down the sunglasses that shielded her small face, looking very poised and charismatic.

People who didn’t know her might even think that she was an international celebrity.

“Y-You are—?” The assistant director asked, looking at Han Muzi.

Yan subconsciously stood in front of Han Muzi to block the assistant director’s sight and then gently explained, “Hi, assistant director. We are here to see Miss Zhao for a work-related issue. It will only take a short while. ”

“Uh…”

The assistant director stared at Yan in confusion, before shifting his gaze at Han Muzi to stare at her.

At this moment, Zhao Yiru’s manager came over. When he saw Han Muzi, his eyes lit up and he quickly explained the entire situation, “Assistant Director, Miss Han is our guest.”

Then, he pulled the assistant director aside and whispered something in his ears. The assistant director kept staring at Han Muzi and only left a while later with a slight nod of his head.

Zhao Yiru’s manager stepped forward and nodded to Han Muzi. “Miss Han, please follow me.”

Han Muzi nodded and kept up with him, but Yan snorted and muttered in a low voice, “How condescending. He was so rude to me just now.”

Hearing this, Han Muzi couldn’t help chuckling softly. “Don’t take it seriously.”

“You never know how upset I am. I really feel sorry for myself. Why didn’t I have your talents? How nice it would be if I can design too. I wouldn’t need to put up with them anymore.”

“You?” Han Muzi smiled. “I think it’s a pity that you don’t become a food gourmet with your cooking skills.”

“Stop teasing me. I don’t want to be a food gourmet. If I were to become one, I would become so fat. You know I can’t stop eating after seeing delicious food!”

The manager quickly took them to a waiting room on set. After pushing the door open, a cool breeze greeted them. It was only then did Han Muzi realize that the air conditioner was turned on and there were only a few people inside.

She turned around and looked at the people who were sweating profusely on set but could only find shades on their own.

This was the harsh reality—the popular people were treated differently from those unpopular ones.

No wonder everyone wanted to reach a higher position.

Thinking of this, Han Muzi walked in with the manager.

“Yiru, Miss Han is here,” the manager said softly while walking to a beautifully dressed lady.

The makeup on the lady’s face was extremely exquisite, put together by top-quality makeup products. After hearing the manager, she turned around on her rotating chair and looked at Han Muzi.

Indeed, Zhao Yiru was a very beautiful woman.

She was exceptionally gorgeous. How else could she have reached the position she was in right now in this society that valued good looks? After all, she didn’t really have any acting talents. If she didn’t have such good looks, she wouldn’t have had so many fans.

However, not only was Zhao Yiru beautiful, but she was also hostile to other beautiful women, especially to women who were more beautiful than her.

Zhao Yiru initially thought that a well-known designer must be either an elderly woman or a lady with a mediocre presence.

Never did she expect that Han Muzi was young, beautiful, and would actually emanate an awe-inspiring aura.

Just standing there in a simple outfit with sunglasses made her feel stressed.

“So, she is Shelly, the famous international fashion designer? She certainly doesn’t live up to her reputation.” With that, she curled her lips into a mocking smirk.

The manager looked a little embarrassed. He glanced at the stoic Han Muzi before explaining, “Shelly is a Chinese. Her Chinese name is Han Muzi.”

“Oh? Han Muzi? I’ve never heard of her. Are you really a well-known designer? You sure you’re not an imposter?”

“What are you talking about?” Before Han Muzi reacted to this, Yan stomped on the ground and gritted her teeth as she glared at Zhao Yiru. “How can anyone simply impersonate a famous designer? By the way, I’m just one minute late! Do you have to pick on me? And now you are even making things difficult for Muzi!”

“Oh? So, in your opinion, one minute is not considered late? You shouldn’t be punished for being late? Miss, do you know how precious and valuable my time is? Do you know how many changes I have to make to wait for you? Do you know how much I’ve lost?”

“I—” Yan was speechless when she heard that.

Han Muzi tugged Yan’s arm. She stepped forward in her heels and said in a clear voice, “Miss Zhao, when we signed the contract, we made it clear that you have to cooperate with our staff, especially during the design period. But now it seems that your time is so precious that you can’t spare us even for a minute. Of course, I know that my assistant is at fault for being late. If she had not apologized to you for her unprofessional attitude, I would have punished her. However, not only did she apologize to you, but she also waited for you for two hours. Let’s see, how much do you earn in a minute? My assistant’s salary is based on a commission ratio every month, so the extra two hours she waited for you should have offset that, right?”

“You!” Zhao Yiru didn’t expect her to be so sharped-tongued, nor did she expect Han Muzi to actually talk back to her clients. Her beautiful face was suddenly filled with anger at this moment. “What did you say? How dare you compare her to me?”

Han Muzi smiled slightly. “Since all of us are humans, why can’t I do that? Are you of different species instead?”

“F*ck you!” Zhao Yiru yelled out in anger. “I am a popular international celebrity, and she is just a lowly assistant. How dare you compare me to her? Not just her, even you… you are only worthy to carry my shoes.”6
