Nothing To Give But My Heart Chapter 361
Han Muzi was not angry upon hearing her insult; instead, she raised her eyebrows and smiled.
“Is that so? When your manager approached me, he claimed that he was looking for a designer. I didn’t know that you are looking for someone from a different profession. I guess, this is your manager’s fault then. It seems that our deal is terminated. Mr. Manager, you signed the contract, so now that the contract is called off, please remit the penalty for breaching the contract to my account as scheduled.”
With that, Han Muzi took Yan’s hand and greeted Zhao Yiru with a smile. “Thank you in advance for the money. Yan, let’s go.”
Yan couldn’t even react to the sudden reversal of the situation; she was still in a daze when Han Muzi dragged her out of the room.
“W-What’s going on?”
Even Zhao Yiru’s manager was dumbstruck. He had never thought that Han Muzi would be so domineering to actually treat her clients so blatantly. It was as if she didn’t care about her reputation at all.
He thought that she was going to apologize personally, bowing to Zhao Yiru and whatnot.
However, he had underestimated her.
“This is the designer you got me? How dare you tell me that her work is top-notch?”
“No, Yiru, she is indeed the top of the field. Shelly is really a very talented and excellent designer. You can find her work on the internet but… she seems to be very easy-going when she is abroad. Yiru, can you be a little nicer to her?”
“Ha, don’t be ridiculous! I’m an A-list celebrity, yet you want me to respect her? Are you out of your mind? Seeing her character, I bet her designs are no better! It’s better to ask her to get lost while she can!”
“But, what about your dresses at the press conference? There’s only a month left. If we find a new designer…”
“Is she the only international designer? Can’t you just find another one? Or we can just buy any ready-made dresses! Who wants to wear the clothes she made anyway? Who does she think she is? So many people are dying to design clothes for me, yet she dares to reject me. I want to sue her!”
“S-Sue her?” The manager blinked in disbelief.
“Yes! Didn’t she say that we have to pay her for breaching the contract? Let’s take her to court and see if she dares to say that again!”
Yan was dumbfounded when she was pulled out of the room and it took her a while before she returned to her senses again. “M-Muzi!”
She grabbed Han Muzi and stared at her with wide eyes. “W-What were you doing?”
“You saw it yourself, didn’t you?” Han Muzi replied indifferently.
“But in this case, we’d be offending her. She is very popular in this country, and she is not the kind of person who will pay the penalty as promised! She is not someone whom we should provoke!”
“I know.”
“It’s all my fault. If I hadn’t been a minute late, none of this would have happened. At first, I was very angry with her, but with how the situation is turning out now, it won’t bring you any good at all. Muzi, I’ll go and apologize to her, and end this conflict once and for all.”
With that, Yan shoved Han Muzi’s hand away and turned to walk toward the room.
Han Muzi stood at the same spot with her hands crossed in front of her chest. “I just brought you out from there, yet you want to go back again?” she asked coldly.
“If I don’t go back, are we going to leave it this way? This is the first project we got since our return to the country. Wouldn’t it be detrimental to your future career development if we do this?”
“It’s exactly because you are afraid that this will affect my career that you are willing to lower yourself every time you meet such a demanding person, even when she says you are only worthy to carry her shoes. Aren’t you mad?”
“Well, of course I’m furious!” Yan bit her lower lip angrily. “But no matter what, I can’t turn my back on money. She is offering you a lot of money, Muzi—”
“I’m asking you.” Han Muzi sighed helplessly. “You were one minute late, right?”
Yan nodded.
“Did you apologize to her?”
“I did, and I put in a lot of good words, but she ignored me. Actually, I don’t mind about that because I was late. Even though it’s just one minute, I was indeed late. I realized my mistake and apologized to her, but I didn’t expect that—”
“—that not only did she not accept your apology, but she also ignored you deliberately. She even questioned my identity right in front of my face, didn’t she?”
“Yeah! But even if I was angry, I didn’t dare to retaliate. You know me, I only dare to complain quietly in front of you.”
Speaking of this, Han Muzi couldn’t help laughing out loud despite being angry. She reached out and poked Yan’s forehead. “You complain to me in private, while I complain to them in public. Doesn’t that sound good?”
“But the business opportunity—”
“You know very well that I have always been a very easy-going person. If I don’t take on this project, I won’t lose much money. On top of that, she doesn’t want a designer, but a person to serve her. Though we have to be courteous and polite, we don’t have to bend over backward and ditch our dignity. Come on, let’s go back now. Little Bean is still waiting for you at home.”
With that, Han Muzi turned around and walked forward, leaving Yan no choice but to follow her. However, she was still very upset. “Why do I think that this is all because of me? If I had known this is how it would end, I shouldn’t have called you. It would be better that way.”
“Don’t worry. With that temper of hers, even if you didn’t call me, things would only get worse.”
Yan hesitated before asking, “Is that so?”
When the two of them were walking, a figure stopped in front of Han Muzi.
It was the assistant director who mistook them as fans earlier. Yan remembered him and asked quickly, “Assistant director, is there anything we can help you with?”
The assistant director’s gaze fell on Han Muzi’s face with an expression that was completely different from before, as he looked at her with a smile on his face.
“I heard that you are an international designer who came back from overseas?”
Han Muzi raised her eyebrows and nodded. “Yes, I am. Nice to meet you.”
“Haha! There’s no need to be so polite. I think you look pretty good in every aspect. Do you want to be an actress? We are currently looking for a female side-character in this drama. I’m not quite satisfied with the current actress because she doesn’t suit the image of the character at all. Would you like to give it a try?”
For the average person, this was a once in a lifetime opportunity.
After all, Han Muzi just came here to meet someone else but the assistant director spotted her and wanted her to play a rather important role in the drama. If she was an unknown actress, she would have thought that this was too good a chance.
But for Han Muzi, it was rather ludicrous.
“Thank you very much, assistant director, but I’m not interested in the entertainment industry. Sorry.”
Hearing that, a look of disappointment flashed in the assistant director’s eyes. “I see…”
But soon, he came back to his senses. “You’re a designer, aren’t you? I know an actress who is looking for a designer. Are you interested?”
Nothing To Give But My Heart Chapter 362
Han Muzi and Yan exchanged glances upon hearing the man’s suggestion.
When Yan was about to nod, Han Muzi stopped her. Then, she smiled and said softly, “I’m so sorry. I don’t have time to take any orders right now.”
“If that’s the case, do you mind leaving your business card? I will contact you when you are available.”
Since he knew his manners, Han Muzi couldn’t reject him. She shot a glance at Yan, who immediately took out her business card and handed it to him. “Assistant Director, I am Shelly’s assistant. My name is Yan.”
“Thank you for your card. Are you leaving?”
“Yes.”
After bidding farewell to the assistant director, Han Muzi and Yan walked out of the filming set. To their surprise the taxi driver was still there. When he saw the two of them, he even waved and greeted them.
Han Muzi froze for a while before walking up to him with Yan.
“Mister, you haven’t left yet?”
“Hey there! I’m just waiting here to see if any actors are leaving so that I can take them. I didn’t expect you to come out in such a short time.”
Han Muzi thought for a while and said, “We are going back. If it’s convenient for you, can you give us another ride, please?”
“Absolutely!”
With that, both of them got into the car, and Yan immediately hugged Han Muzi’s arm. “Alas, there goes the business for today. I can tell that I am missing a large chunk of money for my year-end bonus. That woman is just too arrogant. All the celebrities we saw on screen are always gentle and polite, but I didn’t expect them to be this arrogant in private. Isn’t she afraid that we will expose her true character?”
Han Muzi glanced at her. “Go ahead and try. We’ll see whether her fans believe in you or their idol. You are considered lucky if you don’t die from their vicious attacks.”
Hearing that, Yan said angrily, “Oh, what a world that prioritizes good looks! It’s so disappointing! But the assistant director’s suggestion is quite good too. Maybe you should be an actress. Your beauty can definitely shine through the entertainment industry and rise to be a more successful celebrity than her. We’ll see if she still has the guts to be so arrogant by then.”
Han Muzi hesitated before replying, “Thanks, but no thanks. I’m too old for this ordeal. I’ll leave this feat to you.”
Yan retorted, “Do you think I don’t want to? Too bad, I don’t have your good looks.”
With that, she crossed her arms as she continued to complain, “Comparisons are odious! Look at you—you are both smart and beautiful! What a shame I don’t have either of those. If I do, I don’t have to work as your assistant anymore.”
“Do you feel sorry for being my assistant?” Han Muzi glanced at her.
Yan felt a chill run down her spine before responding with a dry smile, “Not at all. It’s absolutely wonderful. You know, I think the assistant director will not give up easily. He wouldn’t have asked for your business card if he did. Say, it’s not bad to be an actress if you can’t be a designer in the future.”
Han Muzi replied, “It’s never going to happen.”
“Why?”
“Look at those actors and actresses—they are so young! I am a decade older than them. If I enter the show business at this age, I will be mocked by everyone!”
Yan said, “Indeed, you are an old woman in your thirties, but you can deceive the public with your look! I know many people in the entertainment industry lie about their age. You can tell everyone that you are young.”
“Don’t even think about it. If you want to be an actress, you can go to the assistant director and recommend yourself.”
Yan immediately tugged Han Muzi’s arm and shook her head vigorously.
“Nope! I don’t want to enter this chaotic entertainment industry, and I will never sacrifice myself for any script! With that said, I definitely won’t enter the entertainment industry!” Yan announced solemnly.
Han Muzi pushed her away and asked, “You don’t want to do it yourself, yet you persuade me to do so?”
“That’s different. You are so good looking, and someone wants you there. On top of that, once you become an actress, I can be your manager.”
Han Muzi was speechless upon hearing that.
If this conversation continued, she would be even more furious, so she chose to be quiet. Soon, the taxi arrived at Rui Xin Community.
Initially, Han Muzi planned to return to the Han residence in North City in a few days’ time because it coincided with Zhao Yiru’s drama shooting which would take place in North City as well. However, she did not expect the business deal to be called off so soon, so she didn’t have any other reason to go there now. Hence, she planned to discuss with Han Qing about postponing her return to the Han Family.
However, Han Qing chuckled coldly when he heard this and immediately gave her a strict order—he demanded her to return with Little Bean by bus the next day.
Han Muzi rejected him. “No, tomorrow is too soon. I haven’t bought the tickets yet.”
Han Qing replied, “I will drive over to pick you up at night.”
Han Muzi objected, “No, you don’t have to do that!”
“It only takes a few hours to go back and forth. I can do that.”
Although Han Qing said so, his voice sounded exhausted.
Han Muzi felt sorry for him, of course. After all, he was her biological brother, and he treated her very well. In the end, Han Muzi could only succumb to him.
“Fine, I’ll wake Little Bean up early tomorrow morning and go back by bus. Does it sound okay?”
Han Qing became silent for a while before replying with satisfaction, “I will ask the driver to pick you up.”
Han Muzi asked, “Didn’t I say that I will go there by myself?”
“There will be traffic jams. Come over after midnight. I’ll ask the driver to start his journey in a while, so you can start packing after dinner.”
Han Muzi objected, “Han Qing! You are too much!”
They had agreed on tomorrow, but he silently arranged for her to go tonight, not even letting her have a good night’s sleep.
Though she yelled at him, Han Qing was not angry. Instead, he chuckled softly. “Be good. You can sleep when you arrive.”
After ending the call, Han Muzi pulled her long hair helplessly.
Her brother was good at every aspect, except one—he had a sister complex.
She wondered if it was because of guilt. He had been searching for her for the past two decades, and he even found the wrong person during the process. Thus, when he finally found her, he felt guilty. This was probably the reason why he treated her so well, or maybe he was just fond of his sister.
However, according to Su Jiu, he used to treat Han Xueyou coldly.
This was probably the true power of family bonds.
That night, Yan cooked dinner, and Little Bean finally had the braised fish he had been craving for. After eating, he touched his belly contentedly while lying in his mother’s arms.
“Mommy, Aunt Yan’s braised fish is really delicious!”
Han Muzi looked at Yan, who was sitting opposite them, and joked, “Are you willing to take Aunt Yan as your wife?”
Yan almost choked on the food when she heard that.
Little Bean shook his head seriously. “No.”
“Why not?”
“Mommy, don’t be silly. I’m only five years old, and it will take at least 20 years before I can marry anyone. By then, Aunt Yan will become Grandma Yan. She won’t be good-looking anymore.”
Nothing To Give But My Heart Chapter 363
Yan immediately arched her eyebrows coldly at Little Bean’s remark. “Hey, Do you have to be so realistic? I know that I’m going to get old, but you don’t have to despise me for that. Little Bean, you shouldn’t burn your bridges like this. How dare you criticize my look right after having my braised fish?! Don’t you want me to cook for you again in the future?”
Sensing that his future meals might be compromised, Little Bean immediately changed his tone and said, “Aunt Yan, I was wrong. You’ll be so beautiful even when you are old.”
This worked on Yan, and she nodded in satisfaction.
“Alright, I forgive you. I will make you more braised fish next time.”
However, she failed to notice how Little Bean clutched his chest, looking guilty as if he had gone against his conscience when he said that.
Han Muzi, on the other hand, saw it. She stretched out her hand to squeeze his cheeks as she whispered, “You cheeky boy.”
That night, the three of them packed up and got in a car sent by Han Qing, before heading toward North City.
Yan followed them too since she was Han Muzi’s assistant, although this was beyond her job scope.
Anyway, Yan thought that she would be too lonely to live alone in the apartment here, so she wanted to tag along. Worst came to worst, she would just say that Little Bean liked the food she made, so she was there as their chef.
Yan happily imagined this in her thoughts.
On the other side, Ye Moxuan was also returning to North City.
When Song An sent him off, she said, “Are you sure you don’t want to stay for a few more days? It’s such a long commute and you’re only here for two days.”
When Ye Moxuan heard that, he looked at her, displeased.
“I’ve got work to do.”
“Is work more important than your aunt? What an unfilial child! Just go then! Drive carefully.”
“Ok.”
“Geez, young people like you won’t listen to me. Driving at night can be dangerous with limited visibility, but you can’t even wait until tomorrow morning to leave.”
Ye Moxuan pursed his lips and went straight into the car, ignoring Song An’s sarcastic comment.
After a while, he said coldly, “There’s no traffic jam at night. It’s going to be a smooth ride.”
“Bye.”
Song An stood there, watching the car leave her sight. The street light cast a long shadow on her figure, and the night breeze blew her silk scarf over her shoulders.
She heaved a sigh. I wonder how long it will take for Moxuan to truly open his heart to another woman.
Shen Qi…
This name had disappeared in his life for five years and would never appear again.
Song An didn’t know where Shen Qi went, but she liked the girl very much. Unfortunately, Ye Moxuan and Shen Qi were not meant to be together.
Forget it, let nature take its course.
At her age, she didn’t have the energy to mind anyone’s business anymore.
Thinking of this, Song An rewrapped the silk scarf on her shoulder and turned around to go upstairs.
Initially, Ye Moxuan assumed it would be a smooth drive at night, however, an explosion occurred on the highway at midnight, completely blocking the road ahead.
The car Han Muzi was in was quite a distance away from the blast so they had only heard the explosive noise, but soon after, the cars in front of them stopped. Yan, who was leaning back on the seat sleeping, woke up suddenly when she heard the abrupt explosion.
Then, Han Muzi saw a burst of flames in front of them. The scene was particularly shocking that she intuitively reached out and hugged Little Bean who was sitting next to her.
“Damn, what happened?” Yan lowered the car window and poked her head out, feeling frightened when she saw the flames in front.
“My God, what is happening?” She immediately retracted her head and looked at Han Muzi. “Muzi, should we leave the car? It seems to be dangerous here. ”
The flame was not too far away from them. With a turn of her head, Han Muzi saw a fleet of cars behind them and felt that it was not a safe option to stay in the car. So, she nodded and said in a low voice, “Mr. Nan, roll the windows up and lock them. We’re getting out.”
Mr. Nan turned off the engine and nodded.
After they got out of the car, the passengers in the cars behind them followed suit after seeing them do so.
Humans always had an instinct to avoid danger, and everyone would usually cherish their lives unless they had other ideas in mind.
In no time, many people stood on the highway.
“Get back and try to stay away from the explosion.”
Everyone followed the crowd and walked further away; more and more people gathered on the highway.
Soon, the sirens of the police car resonated.
The police rushed to the scene to check on the situation before announcing to everyone, “Ladies and gentlemen, don’t worry. The car in front exploded, and we have already set up a blockade at the explosion site. We are handling it as soon as possible, but I’m sorry to say, the road ahead is temporarily blocked.”
Yan held Han Muzi’s arm and said morosely, “What’s the matter? Why did the car explode all of a sudden? Did they have inflammable items in the car?”
“There are many reasons for the explosion. We don’t know the situation, so, for the time being, let’s just wait for a while.”
Many cars stopped on the road, while the passengers got out of their cars and waited by the roadside. Ye Moxuan was also driving on the same road and heard the explosion as well. Soon, he saw people gathering on the highway beside him.
He took out his phone and glanced at the time impassively. He had just got on the highway, yet such an accident happened, and he was blocked by a bunch of cars behind him.
He didn’t know how long it would take to evacuate the crowd. Starting to feel stuffy inside the car, he massaged his faintly aching temples before getting out of the car to get some fresh air.
In the dark, the masculine figure of a man walked out of the car with a pair of slender and straight legs, walking steadily. Instead of walking toward the crowd, he walked to the other side of the highway and looked at the scenery from the distance.
He immediately stood out from the crowd.
“Wow, look at a handsome man over there!” a girl in the crowd exclaimed after spotting Ye Moxuan.
With that, everyone immediately looked over.
“You can only see his back. How do you know that he is handsome?”
“I saw his face when he got out of the car! His facial features are very prominent. Not only is he good-looking, but his body proportion is also great!”
“Come on, honey. Your husband—ahem me—is standing right here. Is my body not good enough for you?”
“Tsk, I can tell that man has six-packs at a glance! You only have fat on your stomach!”
“You can’t say this to me…”
Han Muzi and Yan overheard their entire conversations and exchanged glances. Then, Yan leaned in and said quietly, “I’m really stumped. At such a dangerous juncture, they are still in the mood to look at handsome guys.”
Hearing that, Han Muzi smirked. “People are always interested in beautiful things. Besides, it’s not really a matter of life-or-death yet anyway.”
“You’re right, but it’s such an unlucky day today. Had I known, I wouldn’t have listened to your brother. We should have gone back tomorrow as we planned.”
“Never mind.” Han Muzi squatted down and looked at Little Bean. “Are you tired? Do you want me to carry you?”
Nothing To Give But My Heart Chapter 364
Little Bean shook his head thoughtfully. “Mommy, I’m not tired. You don’t need to carry me.”
Feeling sorry for him, Han Muzi squatted down and hugged his little head. “Do you want to lean on me for a while? I’m sorry. I didn’t know that this would happen.”
She blamed herself a little, for she felt that Little Bean was always suffering because of her.
Although this kind of situation was not a big deal for Han Muzi, she felt distressed whenever she thought of Little Bean. Perhaps the reason she was too sensitive was because she didn’t have a complete family growing up.
“It’s okay, Mommy. I am not tired. Besides, there are so many people here; it’s very lively.”
Han Muzi didn’t speak anymore. Instead, she buried her head in Little Bean’s neck and closed her eyes.
She knew that Little Bean had always been very sensible and considerate. Most of the time, not only would he not throw tantrums at her, but he always found the fun even in hardships. On many occasions, he was the one who consoled her rather than the other way round. The more Han Muzi thought about this, the more upset she became.
Yan looked down at the two of them and squatted too. “It’s nothing serious. The police already said that it’s alright. We can continue our journey when it’s over, or we can take a detour. By the way, I’m a little hungry now. I think we have some food in the car so let me go get it for you, okay?”
Han Muzi returned to her senses and said softly, “I don’t need it. Just give it to Little Bean.”
“Little Bean, wait for a minute. I’ll be back soon with some snacks.”
“Thank you, Aunt Yan.”
Yan went to ask for the car key from Mr. Nan and went back to the car to get something to eat. After grabbing some snacks and drinks, she turned back and saw everyone looking at the other side of the road, so she followed suit out of curiosity.
Then, she saw a tall figure looming on the other side of the road.
The man’s figure was barely visible in the dark, but from the proportion of his shadowy body outline, he seemed to be in good shape.
However, since his back was facing them, no one could see his face.
Suddenly, the man turned around; his handsome side-profile looked especially prominent in the night.
But soon, the man turned back again.
However, Yan was taken aback upon catching a glimpse of that face.
The face of an old acquaintance popped up in her mind, but she shook her head.
“No way. How is it possible? It’s been such a long time since we last saw him, and it is impossible for him to be here now,” Yan whispered to herself before rummaging her own hair.
But after that thought flashed through her mind, Yan couldn’t help looking in the direction of the man again before she walked back to Han Muzi, feeling a little hesitant.
If it was really him, would they run into him later? What if Muzi saw him?
Thinking of this, Yan began to get anxious.
“Aunt Yan, you are back.” Little Bean brought Yan back to her senses.
Yan regained her composure and found that she had already walked up to Han Muzi and Little Bean. Upon seeing her absent-minded look, Han Muzi looked at her concernedly. “What’s wrong?”
Yan was stunned for a moment before shaking her head. “Nothing.”
Then, she stood forward, directly blocking Han Muzi’s sight as she said with a tensed smile, “I brought you some water.”
With that, Yan gave Han Muzi a bottle of water, then handed another bottle to Mr. Nan, who smiled at her and said, “Thank you.”
“You’re welcome.”
“Aaand this is yours!” Yan gave the rest of the food to Little Bean and proceeded to stand still for a while.
“Aunt Yan, why are you blocking mommy?” Little Bean asked curiously.
That brought Han Muzi’s attention to her too. “You have been standing here since you came back. Is something wrong?”
Yan’s expression changed. “Of course not! It’s just that I think the air is better here; it’s windier. There are too many people there. And… I’m worried that Little Bean might catch a cold after standing in the chilly wind at night, which is why I’m standing here deliberately to protect him from the wind. You little rascal, show some appreciation.”
After that, Yan stretched out her hand to pinch Little Bean’s cheek.
Since Yan would always do weird stuff for no apparent reason, Han Muzi didn’t think much about it.
A moment later, Yan turned to look at the direction just now and found that the man was still standing there. When she looked at his back again, she found it extremely unfamiliar. Perhaps he was not the man she remembered at all.
Thinking of this, Yan finally heaved a sigh of relief.
The world was so big, so it was quite impossible for them to run into him as soon as they returned. Yan was relieved.
After a while, everyone waited for a long time. Some people felt that it was safe enough so they went back to their cars to wait for the update.
Some were still worried, so they kept waiting on the side of the road. In the end, some of them sat down by the road, and some even started playing some card games. The scene was getting more and more lively.
Some even brought self-heating hotpot and ate on the spot.
All sorts of smells began to saturate the air, and people with better civic-sense reminded them, “This is a highway. Remember to clean up after you finish eating. Don’t litter.”
“Of course, we will clean up after ourselves.”
Little Bean was a child after all; he became a little tired as time went by, so he leaned on Han Muzi.
Seeing his sleepiness, Han Muzi hugged him in her arms and said, “Are you sleepy? I will take you back to the car to sleep.”
“Okay.” Little Bean did not refuse this time as he was indeed sleepy now.
Han Muzi squatted down and let him lie on her back. Obediently, he climbed onto her and wrapped his arms around her neck. “Mommy, be careful.”
She then returned to the car with him, and Mr. Nan followed them.
Yan watched them precautiously. “You guys go ahead. I’ll stay here to keep an eye on the situation first, and I will meet you later.”
“Ok.”
Mr. Nan nodded and followed Han Muzi back to the car.
After they left, Yan couldn’t help but look in the direction of the man just now. Although his back didn’t resemble the man, she was concerned about his side-profile.
In fact, Yan was quite worried. What should I do if we really encountered him here?
No, what should Han Muzi do?
Yan broke out in a cold sweat. She slowly walked forward, hiding behind the cars as she inched closer to the man.
It was pretty serene on his side of the road, but when everyone saw Yan going to him, several girls thought she was going to hit on him, so they became restless and followed her.
“Hey, are you going to ask for his phone number? Join us. That way, everyone stands a chance!”
Hearing that, Yan was speechless for a moment. “No.”
“No? So what are you doing here? Come on, even if you admit it, we won’t drive you away. We will share good things together! Besides, it’s up to each of us to see if we have a chance to woo him successfully.”
Nothing To Give But My Heart Chapter 365
Yan was speechless upon hearing their assumptions.
Come on, I just want to make sure if he is the person who I think he is. I’m not going to ask for his number!
“No, I’m really not planning to ask for his number. I just thought that he looks like someone I know, so I wanted to go over and check if it really is him.”
“Ooh!” One of the girls patted her on the shoulder and said with a grin, “Is this the pick-up line you are using to hit on him? It seems pretty feasible. We will say the same later, that he really looks like a senior from our school.”
Yan stuttered, “Y-You-”
“Don’t be so shy! Come on, let’s go together.” With that, she even grabbed Yan’s arm intimately.
Yan was getting agitated that she could barely hold her violent temper back, so she said angrily, “Miss, I don’t know you. Can you please stop hugging my arm so intimately? Also, what I said just now is all true—he does look like a person I knew and I just wanted to confirm it, that’s all. I don’t want to talk to him at all. Please stay away from me now. Thank you.”
With that, her expression became aloof and frigid as she glared at the girl coldly.
The few girls froze for a moment before letting her go.
“Hmph! Why are you so lofty? Just because you are quite pretty? How dare you take us lightly?!”
“That’s right! She said so pompously that she wouldn’t talk to him. Who knows? Maybe she wants to have him all to herself.”
“Let’s ignore her and talk to him first.”
“Alright!”
With that, they walked forward together. Yan originally wanted to follow them to take a look at that man, but on second thought, if these girls went to strike up a conversation with him, she would have a chance of seeing his face from afar anyway.
As long as they approached him from behind, the man would definitely turn around.
Thinking of this, Yan made up her mind to stand where she was, planning to hide behind the cars and see how everything would unfold.
She held her breath as she watched quietly. After the girls reached him, they shyly covered their cheeks before asking aloud, “Uh… excuse me, you look like one of the seniors in our school. I believe fate has brought us together today.”
Yan could hear everything as she was not too far from them, and she almost stumbled in disbelief when she heard that.
This girl is so… cheesy! She literally used the thing I told her. That aside, the way she delivers it is so cringy. Sis, now everyone knows you are hitting on him deliberately!
Sure enough, the man remained stoic and motionless as if he hadn’t heard the girl. He stood as still as a mountain, the cold aura around him merging with the night.
A moment of awkward silence ensued.
As Yan watched this from afar, she couldn’t help covering her eyes in utter disappointment.
I can’t bear watching this anymore. Is she an idiot?
“H-Hey—” The girl probably didn’t expect him to ignore her like this. The tall and slender man stood motionless, treating them as if they were invisible.
But her friend soon returned to her senses and smiled. “Maybe he doesn’t know that we are talking to him. Let’s go up to him to see his face.”
Hence, the few girls walked to his front, smiling shyly.
“Uhm…”
Ye Moxuan frowned as he smelled a strong perfume emitting from the girl’s body, bombarding his senses. The perfume was so pungent that it seemed to pollute the air around him.
These women.
“Hi, you—”
“Get lost!”
Without any warning, Ye Moxuan suddenly uttered two words.
As they had wished, he had finally spoken to them, but his words were like poisoned needles that pierced through their heart mercilessly.
In an instant, the few girls turned pale, looking as pale as ghosts in the night.
Witnessing this scene, Yan couldn’t help covering her mouth with her hands, muffling her laughter.
This was so amusing. From the way he chose to stand away from the crowd, she could tell that the man was not someone whom one could afford to provoke, but those naive girls were actually delusional enough to think that they could attract his attention.
Sigh!
However, upon seeing the man’s reaction, Yan became even more shocked.
If he was that person, he would probably have the same reaction.
However, he was in a wheelchair back then; now, he was standing. She couldn’t put two and two together.
Yan lowered her eyes, deep in her thoughts. When she raised her gaze again, she saw the man leaving in the other direction with a cold expression with one hand in his pocket.
Coincidentally, he was walking toward Yan’s direction, so she was able to see his facial features clearly. However, since Ye Moxuan pulled a long face without looking around, he didn’t see Yan standing behind one of the cars, completely dumbfounded.
After Yan saw his face, she instantly felt chills running down her spine, as if someone had just poured a basin of cold water on her head.
Yan was completely in a daze, locking at Ye Moxuan even after he walked further and further away. The girls who had walked up to him came back with red eyes, and when they stumbled upon this scene, they were annoyed and insulted her, “Hey, wipe your drool. Look at you—your eyes almost pop out. You obviously like him a lot, yet you still deny it.”
Yan came back to her senses when she heard them. Then, she looked at the girls in front of her.
She was not the one whom he growled to get lost, but her face was so pale that it was even more terrifying than theirs.
Seeing that something was wrong with her, one of them asked curiously, “Why are you looking so pale? You’re not the one who was rejected.”
Yan took a deep breath, completely oblivious to her surroundings.
All she knew was that the man who walked over just now looked exactly the same as the man five years ago!
He also looked exactly like Little Bean!
How is this possible?
It is way too coincidental! How long has it been since we returned? We actually ran into him on the highway? No matter how I think about it, this is too incredulous!
Ye Moxuan!
How could I have run into Ye Moxuan here?
Maybe I look at Little Bean—who looks like Ye Moxuan—too often, so I’m having an illusion now. Is this why I regard the man as Ye Moxuan?
Thinking of this, Yan didn’t care what the girls thought of her and asked, “Did someone walk by just now? Did that happen?”
Upon hearing her, the girls suddenly looked at her as if she was mentally retarded.
“Are you alright?”
“I think something’s wrong with you. You kept staring at him.”
“H-He really walked over?” Yan asked blankly.
So, have I seen Ye Moxuan for real?
Nothing To Give But My Heart Chapter 366
“Ignore her. I think she’s out of her mind.”
“I think so too. She didn’t want to go with us, but now, she kept staring at him and had the nerve to ask us if someone had walked past her! She is obviously crazy!”
The girls left after insulting her.
Yan stood there for a long time before regaining her composure, then she looked over in the direction where Ye Moxuan had disappeared and found that he had entered a car. She looked carefully at the license plate, trying to identify it; it showed that it was issued by North City.
So, it wasn’t that she was mistaken, or that she was hallucinating, but that she had indeed run into him.
Fate… is both magical and terrifying.
Yan’s face turned pale again. Then, she quickly turned and left.
After Han Muzi returned to the car with Little Bean, he fell asleep in her arms, wrapping his small arms tightly around her waist.
This was Little Bean’s habit. Whenever he fell asleep when they were out, he would always hug Han Muzi tightly, for fear that she would suddenly disappear.
Han Muzi stroked his head while leaning back on the seat to get some rest.
I wonder how long we have to spend here.
While thinking about it, her phone vibrated. Han Muzi looked at it and realized that it was a message from Han Qing.
‘Where are you?’
Seeing that it was from Han Qing, Han Muzi’s anger flared up, so she replied hastily, ‘Thanks to you, we are now stranded on the highway!’
‘What happened?’
Han Qing replied very quickly. Through his reply, Han Muzi could almost picture him staring at the phone, frowning. The image was too vivid.
Han Muzi hurriedly sent a message to him before he called her.
‘Little Bean is asleep.’
Han Qing paused before taking some time to reply.
‘How did you know that I’m about to call you?’
‘I’m your sister so of course I know that. A car exploded ahead and the policemen are dealing with it now. It has been a standstill for a long time.’
‘Why didn’t you tell me earlier? I’ll rush over to pick you up right away.’
Han Muzi could almost picture Han Qing getting up without hesitation, so she quickly sent a message.
‘No, you don’t have to come and pick us up. We will start our journey after a while.’
But he did not reply again, making Han Muzi feel a little helpless. She assumed that he was probably getting ready to go out now.
Thud!
At this moment, Yan had returned. She opened the car door and sat in, bringing in the cold air from outside. Han Muzi bent forward subconsciously to block the cold air for Little Bean.
“You’re back?” Han Muzi asked softly.
Yan was incredibly shocked just now, so her face was still as pale as snow. After throwing a glance at Han Muzi, she just nodded blankly, as if she didn’t notice that she had turned pale.
Han Muzi stared at her in confusion for a moment. “What’s wrong?”
“Huh?” Yan’s voice was a little loud. After she realized that she might wake Little Bean, she quickly reached out to cover her mouth and shook her head as she whispered, “Nothing.”
“Nothing?” Han Muzi knew something must have happened by looking at her dodging eyes so she arched her eyebrows. “Your face is as pale as a ghost, and you say it’s nothing?”
Hearing that, Yan quickly reached out her hands to touch her face.
Is my face pale? This is bad.
Yan quickly took out a mirror to look at herself and found that she did not look good indeed. She took out a blusher to put on some makeup, but Han Muzi, who was sitting next to her, lowered her voice and said, “No need to put on any makeup. Your eyes have already betrayed you. Tell me, what’s going on? Something’s wrong with you from earlier. What’s wrong?”
Yan’s hands froze midair. After a while, she closed her blusher and looked at Han Muzi before saying seriously, “Actually, I have a stomachache. I need to poop!”
Han Muzi was speechless upon hearing that.
“But we’re in the middle of nowhere and there’s no toilet here so I can only hold it in. See, I break out in a cold sweat for enduring the urge.”
Han Muzi still didn’t know how to react to that.
“Oh, I really need to use the washroom.” Yan touched her cheeks and smiled dryly. She actually said such a huge and embarrassing lie just to hide her emotions.
Fortunately, her Prince Charming was not in the car. Otherwise, she would never have said such words.
Thinking of this, Yan pursed her lips into a forced smile.
Han Muzi was utterly speechless, unable to distinguish whether Yan was telling the truth. After a while, she asked again, “So what are you going to do now? Can you keep holding it?”
“Of course.” Yan nodded vigorously. “I already held it back.”
Han Muzi became silent for a while before saying, “I don’t think you should cook anymore.”
Yan asked, “Why not?”
“After this conversation tonight, I won’t be able to look at you in the eyes anymore.”
It was Yan’s turn to be speechless.
Ten minutes later, the cars on the highway were notified that they were allowed to continue their journey.
Hence, everyone started driving forward slowly. However, Yan became nervous again. She lay by the window, looking at the surrounding vehicles. We won’t bump into Ye Moxuan now, will we?
Maybe not.
However, she was still very worried. The journey to North City was still far away. It would be alright if they were heading somewhere else, but they were going to North City. Although Yan did not understand why Ye Moxuan would appear in Su City for no reason, she was afraid of bringing up Muzi’s hurtful past.
Therefore, she did not dare to tell Han Muzi that she had bumped into Ye Moxuan.
“Why? You can’t hold it in anymore?”
A faint voice came from her side. Yan turned her head and saw Han Muzi looking at herself with a faint smile on her face, her eyes as clear as a frozen lake that was able to reflect everything.
Yan suddenly felt that the excuse she had just made was nothing more than making a fool of herself. In fact, Han Muzi might already know that she was hiding something from her but this did not stop Yan from acting dumb.
No matter what, Han Muzi probably would not think of that person, so Yan simply dropped her act by closing her eyes as she sat beside her, not answering Han Muzi’s question.
She didn’t want to talk, and Han Muzi didn’t force her either.
After all, everyone had their own secrets. Yan would just keep this secret to herself.
The road was quite jam packed at first, but it soon became unobstructed; the car began to travel at high speed in the darkness. Gradually, Han Muzi started to feel weary just as Yan’s voice sounded, “Go ahead and sleep. I’ve slept just now, so I’m not sleepy. I can keep watch, and Mr. Nan is here too.”
“Okay.” Han Muzi nodded before leaning back in the chair and falling asleep quickly.
Soon, her breathing became even.
Yan turned to look at Han Muzi’s sleeping face, her expression shifting a bit.
Oh, I really hope that we don’t run into that man this time. Or else… I really don’t know what I should do.
Perhaps Muzi is the one who is the most helpless.
After all, he had hurt her deeply, but at the same time, he was also the one whom Muzi had loved deeply.
Nothing To Give But My Heart Chapter 367
Han Muzi slept soundly this time, falling into a deep slumber like Little Bean.
However, Yan had been staring out the windows anxiously. Usually, she was the one who could sleep like a log anywhere, but this was the first time she was so awake. She had been staring at the vehicles on the road, but she didn’t see that particular car.
Nevertheless, regardless of where the car was at now—whether it was in front or behind them—she was worried sick.
After exiting the highway, Yan finally saw the myriad twinkling lights of the city as the car entered the city streets.
This was the typical sight in big cities; even after midnight, there were still many buildings brightly lit as the nightlife had just begun.
The street lights flashed one after another outside the car window. After passing through a few traffic lights, Yan was finally relieved to see many more local vehicles around her.
Even if they were all in North City, it would be difficult to pinpoint one particular car out of so many cars. Maybe Ye Moxuan had changed lanes or taken another route.
Thinking about this, Yan finally breathed a sigh of relief. Then, she slowly leaned back into the seat.
She was exhausted after watching the cars all night, her eyes almost sealing shut.
Yan closed her eyes, wanting to take a good night’s sleep. “Mr. Nan, wake me up when we get there. I want to sleep for a while.”
“Alright,” Mr. Nan responded gently.
Not long after Yan fell asleep, Han Muzi received a call from Han Qing. She did not respond when the phone vibrated, but Little Bean felt it first and tugged her sleeves to wake her up.
Han Muzi glanced at him sleepily. “Yes, Little Bean?”
“Mommy, your phone is vibrating,” Little Bean reminded her.
Hearing that, Han Muzi snapped back to her senses and picked the phone up, only to see that Han Qing was calling her.
“It’s your uncle, answer it.”
“Okay.”
Little Bean answered the phone. After being abruptly woken up from a deep sleep, Han Muzi felt that her brain was still in daze, so she continued to lean back and rest. It didn’t take long for Little Bean to finish the call. “Mommy, Uncle Qing said he will be waiting for us at the next exit,” he said.
“Huh? How did he know where we are?”
“I’ve just sent him our location.”
After Little Bean said that, he turned to inform Mr. Nan, who nodded. “Okay.”
Sure enough, when they arrived at the next exit, Han Muzi saw Han Qing’s car. He was standing not far from the road, looking at them with a pair of deep but distant eyes.
“It’s Uncle Qing!” Little Bean exclaimed in a low voice.
Han Muzi glanced at Yan next to her, who was still soundly asleep.
Little Bean asked, “Mommy, do we wake her up?”
“No. Aunt Yan is quite tired along the way, and she finally fell asleep now. We’ll let her sleep for a bit more.”
So, both of them got out of the car together and walked to Han Qing.
“Qing.” Han Muzi looked helplessly at Han Qing’s stern expression. “Geez, didn’t I say that everything’s fine? Why did you come to fetch us in the middle of the night?”
Han Qing sized her up, then said in a low voice after reassuring himself that she was fine, “I’m worried.”
Han Muzi hesitated before saying, “Why don’t you think about it this way—if something had indeed happened, would I have been able to send you a message so leisurely?”
Han Qing replied, “I didn’t think so much at that time. Nothing else matters as long as you are safe.”
“Uncle Qing, I want you to carry me.”
When they finished talking, Little Bean stretched out his hands and asked for a hug. Han Qing caressed his head and scooped him up easily with one hand. “Are you tired?”
“Not at all, Uncle Qing. I think you are more tired than I am.”
“This is all my fault. Had I known you would be stranded in such a situation, I wouldn’t have been so impatient. Let’s go and take my car. I’ll take you back to the Han residence.”
“Wait.”
Han Muzi turned around and walked to the car she had been riding before leaning over the window. “Mr. Nan, please follow us to the Han residence. Yan is still sleeping. I’ll wake her up when we get there,” she said to Mr. Nan.
Mr. Nan nodded at her kindly.
At this moment, a familiar vehicle drove past them, the man behind the wheels looking straight ahead with a stony face.
However, in a split second, as if drawn by something, he looked over in another direction.
Right at this moment, Han Muzi had already walked toward Han Qing’s car. He had already opened the door, and Han Muzi was bending over to get into the car.
The woman’s exquisite and beautiful face fleeted past him, but Ye Moxuan was still stunned, feeling that he had suddenly lost his focus. When he regained his composure again, he realized that a car in the left lane was coming his way.
Ye Moxuan narrowed his eyes cautiously and quickly swerved the steering wheel.
Bang!
Not long after Han Muzi and Little Bean had settled down in the car, they heard a loud crash.
Both of them turned around to look at the source of the sound just in time to see a car crash into the guardrail by the road and come to a stop.
Upon witnessing the scene, Han Muzi’s pupils shrank, and she felt her eyelids twitch fiercely. She suddenly felt a sense of restlessness, so she quickly reached out to cover her eyelids and said “Why are there so many accidents tonight?”
Han Qing saw the accident too. With a purse of his lips, he said coldly, “The driver was too careless. These people are driving too recklessly. Let’s go back first.”
“Alright, let’s go back. I always feel quite uncomfortable seeing these.”
Little Bean quickly reached out and hugged Han Muzi. “Mommy, don’t be afraid. I’ll protect you.”
A warm feeling surged through Han Muzi’s body. After the car started, she couldn’t help looking back at the accident not far away through the car window.
She wondered why the driver didn’t do anything after hitting the rail; he didn’t even open the door.
I wonder how the passengers are now…
Han Muzi stretched out her hand and massaged her eyebrows before retracting her glance.
The car arrived at the Han residence very quickly, and as they entered the mansion, Han Muzi felt rather peculiar as the view unfolded in front of her.
It was not that she hadn’t been here before, but she hadn’t been back here since she returned to Han Family and became Han Muzi. This was the first time she had returned to this place after five years.
Now, it seemed that there were so many memories.
At that time, I was not a Han, nor was I the Young Lady of the Han family. I was just a—
“Here we are. You can get out of the car now.”
A cold voice resonated, interrupting Han Muzi’s thoughts.
She snapped back to her senses and got out of the car with Little Bean.
After getting out of the car, Han Muzi saw that Mr. Nan’s car was following closely behind so she whispered softly, “Yan is probably still sleeping. I’ll wake her up.”
With that, under Han Qing’s gaze, Han Muzi walked to Mr. Nan’s car and opened the door to wake Yan up.
However, Yan was still in her dreamland, hugging herself as a foolish smile was plastered on her face. Han Muzi tried to wake her up by calling her several times but it was to no avail.
Seemingly becoming impatient, Han Qing walked toward them.
Nothing To Give But My Heart Chapter 368
“Wake up, Yan. Wake up.” Han Muzi bent down and gently patted Yan’s flushed cheeks, trying to wake her up.
However, at this moment, Yan literally chuckled out loud before going quiet again.
“I’ll help you get her upstairs,” Just when Han Muzi was feeling helpless, Han Qing’s voice rang from behind her.
Han Muzi turned around. “Are you sure, Qing?”
“Yeah. You must be tired today. Take Little Bean upstairs to rest and leave the rest to me here.”
Han Muzi threw a glance at Yan and nodded. “Alright then. I’ll go upstairs first.”
“Madam Lian.”
Han Muzi was slightly overwhelmed with emotions upon seeing Madam Lian again. Madam Lian, on the other hand, had her usual gentle vibe in her eyes as she smiled at her kindly. “Young Lady, please follow me.”
After Han Muzi left with Little Bean, Han Qing looked at Yan who was still sleeping in the car.
She was sitting a little far from the car door, so he could only peer halfway in and whisper, “Wake up.”
Yan didn’t hear him at all. Her eyes were closed as she continued to dream away.
Han Qing frowned slightly, figuring that she would sleep through the night tonight.
Forget it. Since she is Muzi’s assistant, I’ll just carry her upstairs.
Thinking of this, Han Qing had no choice but to go around to the other side of the car and open the door. When he was about to bend over to carry her, his hands froze mid-air before touching Yan.
He rarely touched a woman.
Standing upright again, Han Qing looked around and realized that there was no one other than Mr. Nan who could help him.
Am I going to ask Mr. Nan to carry Yan? Disregarding the fact whether Mr. Nan could carry her, it would be inappropriate to ask an old man to carry a girl upstairs.
Since he had promised Muzi, Han Qing could only call Yan a few more times again, trying to wake her up but to no avail; she was dead asleep. In the end, Han Qing had no choice but to reach out to carry her in his arms.
When Han Qing carried Yan, who had been sleeping like a log just a moment ago, she reached out and wrapped her arms around his neck. As soon as her tender hands touched the skin on his neck, he frowned
“Um… hehehehe.”
Han Qing looked down at her and found that she was actually giggling. Both her expression and voice sounded quite silly and childlike.
Han Qing pursed his lips and quickly walked inside.
The Han residence’s guest rooms were cleaned every now and then, so Han Qing brought Yan directly to the guest room and put her on the big bed. When he was about to withdraw his hand, he realized that Yan’s hands were holding his neck and wouldn’t let go.
“Let go!” Han Qing scolded coldly, wanting to pull her hands down.
Instead of loosening her arms, she tightened her hands around his neck even more. Han Qing frowned but before he could do anything, he suddenly saw Yan, who was lying on the bed, pursing her lips high as she leaned toward him, mumbling.
Han Qing’s expression changed. He was about to stop her when Yan suddenly opened her eyes.
Her clear and innocent eyes abruptly entered his sight, along with the confused and silly look one had after waking up. Apart from that, something else was closing in toward him too.
Han Qing’s expression was cold as he glared at her sharply.
Probably because of the aura he exuded, Yan suddenly halted when she was about to touch Han Qing.
Suddenly, she seemed to have been electrocuted. All her movements stopped at once, and even her facial expressions froze.
Yan looked at Han Qing who was only inches away from her; the two of them were so close that they could feel each other’s breaths.
A-Am I dreaming?
But, in my dream, I remembered that my Prince Charming has kissed me forcefully until I’m out of breath.
Of course, she knew that Han Qing would never treat her like that in reality—Han Qing had a sister complex, and he would never find someone like her even if he needed a woman.
She was unintelligent, naive, and had a low IQ. Though she was quite decent-looking, she was no match for most of the beautiful women out there.
Hence, in the dream, she tried to kiss him back with all her might.
But what’s going on now? Why do I see Han Qing’s cold face as soon as I open my eyes? And… what the hell am I doing?
Yan finally noticed her puckered lips and Han Qing’s frown. At that moment, she felt as if something had just snapped within her.
My God!
What have I done?
Yan let go of him abruptly and fell backward dramatically.
Thud!
She fell onto the soft bed, her head touching the soft pillow before looking at Han Qing with wide eyes.
“P-President Han—” Yan stammered, flustered. “I-I fell asleep just now. I didn’t know what I was doing.”
Han Qing nodded expressionlessly and said in a frigid voice, “Rest well.”
Then, he turned around and went out, closing the door of the guest room behind him.
After he left, Yan was stunned for ten full seconds before coming to her senses. She stretched out her hands to cover her face and screamed!
“Ahhhh! Yan, what are you doing?”
I’m going nuts!
Why did he carry me upstairs? A-And… I actually puckered my lips in front of him!
Thinking of this, Yan quickly sat up, reached out, and touched the corner of her lips.
I didn’t drool, did I? Oh thank goodness! What’s wrong with Muzi? Why didn’t she wake me up? Now I messed up big time in front of my Prince Charming.
Have I left a trauma on Han Qing when I puckered my lips just now? Will he still look at me in the eyes when we meet again in the future?
Thinking of this, Yan started to get anxious again, before hugging the pillow and rolling on the bed agitatedly.
I don’t want to live anymore! Oh my god!
Yan took out the phone from her pocket and sent a message to Han Muzi, accusing her of her evil deeds.
‘You! Why didn’t you wake me up? Did you know that I’ve embarrassed myself this time?’
Han Muzi had just put Little Bean to sleep. Just when she was about to take a shower to relax her nerves, the phone on the table vibrated, so she picked it up and took a look. After realizing that Yan had sent her a message, she couldn’t help smirking.
‘Well, I did but you didn’t wake up. You slept like a corpse and even giggled a few times. I called you several times but you didn’t wake up.’
‘What the f*ck? Did I giggle? Oh no! My image is all ruined.’
‘I thought you have always been like this, no? What is an image to you anyway? You said you didn’t care about your image at all for the last five years, that you will triumph just by your inner beauty.’
‘Triumph, my *ss!’
What the hell is my inner beauty in front of my Prince Charming?
Now, I have completely scared him away, and I don’t think he will be able to look at me in my eyes from now on.
‘Besides, you should thank me for giving you the opportunity.’
‘Opportunity, my *ss! I’ve embarrassed myself big time’
‘I think your brother won’t be able to even look at me in my eyes from now on. Seriously, how can I be so stupid?’
‘What have you done?’
Yan was utterly speechless when she saw these words, so she quickly put her phone aside.
Nothing To Give But My Heart Chapter 369
The following day.
The entire Han residence seemed to become livelier since Han Muzi was back.
“I heard that the Young Lady came back last night and has even brought a handsome little boy with her. I want to meet him so badly!”
Several maids gathered together, gossiping.
“I guess she isn’t up yet. They came back in the middle of the night last night and will probably sleep until noon. I heard that the Young Lady presents a striking resemblance to Madam Han physically as well as in temperament. ”
“Is that so? Well, five years ago, I’ve told you that the fake young lady was very different from the rest of the Han Family members. I never thought I’d be right! She really was a fake.”
“Over time, the fake will be exposed, and the unquestionable truth will sustain. We’ll be able to tell with time. Now that the real Young Lady is back, the fake one has nowhere to hide.”
“Oh, she was kicked out of the Han Family five years ago. Where did she go?”
“I’m not sure, but a woman like her wouldn’t end well.”
“Let’s stop talking about the fake Young Lady; it kills the mood. I heard that the Young Lady’s son, our little young master, is very adorable and handsome.”
“Really?”
“Wow, I’m kind of looking forward to meeting him!”
The maids rubbed their hands, excited and glee.
Indeed, Han Muzi slept until noon; last night’s shenanigans had made her truly exhausted. When she got up, she found that Little Bean, who was supposed to be sleeping beside her, was missing. She froze for a moment and remembered that they were at the Han residence now, so he should have gotten up and gone downstairs on his own. Hence, she stopped worrying and took the time to freshen herself before going downstairs.
When she was about to go down the stairs, Han Muzi saw a small figure downstairs, surrounded by a group of people but she couldn’t hear what they were talking about.
Little Bean was popular wherever he went.
Han Muzi had already become accustomed to this situation.
Just when she was about to take a step forward, a squeak came from behind her, “Muzi! Muzi, Muzi!”
Hearing that, Han Muzi stopped and looked back, seeing Yan hiding in a corner looking at her nervously. After seeing her, Yan waved to her and signaled her to go to her.
Han Muzi then walked toward her.
“What’s wrong? Why are you hiding here? Are you a thief?”
Yan was full of morose. “It’s all because of you!”
“Me?”
“If you had woken me up last night, I wouldn’t have been embarrassing myself like that. Now, I don’t dare to go downstairs. I’m afraid of running into your brother.”
Hearing that, Han Muzi couldn’t help raising her eyebrows, remembering how Yan dodged her question last night by completely ignoring her message, and how she decided to let it go.
However, now that Yan had brought it up again, Han Muzi really had to ask.
“What actually happened last night? Why do you keep talking about embarrassing yourself? Have you done something to my brother?”
Hearing that, Yan immediately widened her eyes and shook her head. “No way! Who do you think of me as?”
“Did my brother do anything to you?”
Yan looked at her incredulously. “Mu Zi, how can you slander your brother like this?”
Han Muzi was speechless upon hearing that.
Fine. I’ll just stop speaking altogether. Han Muzi turned around to walk downstairs.
Yan nervously grabbed her sleeves. “Don’t go. Help me.”
“How can I help you?”
“See if your brother is downstairs, pretty please?”
“No, he’s not there.”
“Are you sure? You’re not bluffing? You’re not even looking.”
“I have already looked just now,” Han Muzi said helplessly.
Yan breathed a sigh of relief. “Alright then, I’ll go down with you.”
With that, Yan followed behind Han Muzi, walking down the stairs with her, but halfway down the stairs, Yan saw Han Qing coming in through the front door.
Before Han Qing even looked up, Yan’s expression changed instantly, and before Han Muzi could react, Yan turned around and ran away.
When Han Muzi turned around, she was no longer behind her.
She was rendered speechless once more.
Did you have to escape so quickly?
Finally, Han Muzi went downstairs alone.
“Qing, what happened last night?”
“Huh?” Han Qing looked confused. “What happened?”
Han Muzi was utterly speechless. Yan turned around and ran as soon as she saw Han Qing like a mouse seeing a cat, but Han Qing treated it as nothing. What exactly has happened?
“Nothing.” Han Muzi smiled and asked in a low voice, “Where are we going today?”
“Let’s eat first. After that, I will take you somewhere.”
“Alright.”
The maids finally met Han Muzi as they wished, but at that time their attention had been attracted by the smart, cute, and witty Little Bean. They kept surrounding him, asking questions, and even asking for photos together.
After taking photos with Little Bean, they immediately posted online to show him off.
Little Bean returned to Han Muzi’s side when she was eating.
“Uncle Qing, have you eaten?”
“Yes. Have you washed your hands?”
“Yes. Hmm, where’s Aunt Yan?” Little Bean asked after looking around and didn’t see Yan.
Hearing Yan’s name, Han Qing frowned slightly, remembering her crazy antic last night. He even heard her screaming when he left.
That woman is really loud.
“Aunt Yan’s up to something, maybe.” Han Muzi leaned over to straighten his clothes. Then, she smiled and asked, “Why don’t you ask her to join us?”
“Sure!” Little Bean jumped off the chair deftly and ran upstairs.
After a while, he came back again, looking a little upset. “Aunt Yan said that she’s not feeling well, so she is not going to eat with us.”
Han Muzi smiled slightly. This girl…
“That’s fine. Let’s eat first. After that, we’ll ask someone to send her something to eat.”
“Alright.”

At People’s Hospital in North City.
After bidding goodbye to Ye Moxuan in Su City yesterday, Song An didn’t expect to have to rush back to North City overnight. When she arrived, she went straight to the hospital.
“Tell me what’s wrong with you? Didn’t I tell you to drive carefully when you left?”
Song An glared at Ye Moxuan who was lying on the hospital bed and said indignantly, “What did you do? You got into a freaking accident in North City in the middle of the night! Do you even take your life seriously?”
Ye Moxuan listened to her nagging without any response.
He lowered his dark eyes, making people wonder what was playing in his mind.
“Hey, I’m talking to you. Did you even hear me?”
“Aunty.”
Ye Moxuan’s thin lips suddenly moved slightly.
Song An squinted. “Huh?”
“I think I saw her.”
Song An held her breath. “Who?”
Nothing To Give But My Heart Chapter 370
The ward was eerily quiet except for the whistling sound of the ceiling fan.
The wind ruffled Ye Moxuan’s fringe. He raised his eyes, his voice suddenly fading away.
“Nothing.”
Maybe he was mistaken.
It was just a quick glance, then she was gone. Maybe he really was mistaken.
Seeing the coldness in his eyes, Song An pondered what he had just said before asking, “Is that why you had an accident?”
Ye Moxuan did not speak, but his answer was apparent.
At that moment, it was just a quick glance when he saw the side-profile of the woman that was very similar to the one in his memory, but it quickly disappeared from his sight.
However, he was stunned for a long time, as if his thoughts and sanity had been drawn into a vortex of memories during that time. When he finally came back to his senses, the other car had almost crashed into his.
Fortunately, he had great driving skills, so the two cars did not collide head-on.
However, his car hit the guardrail, and as a result, he sustained some injuries, but fortunately, it was not heavy.
The doctor kept him under observation for a few days, then he would be discharged.
Song An heaved a long sigh. “It seems that you still remember her after so many years. But she hasn’t shown up for so long. How is it possible that you saw her? I think… it’s just an illusion.”
Illusion?
Ye Moxuan laughed mockingly to himself.
“Perhaps.”
Suddenly seeing her nephew in such a depressed mood, Song An didn’t know what to say to comfort him. Although his mood had never been better in the past five years, he looked like he was trapped in love and couldn’t move on.
As his elder, she couldn’t bear watching him being so depressed.
Thinking of this, Song An said, “Well, you can’t go on like this forever. After you are discharged from the hospital, I will look for some suitable partners for you, and then you can go on a blind date.
Hearing that, Ye Moxuan frowned immediately. “Aunty, what are you talking about?”
“What? Don’t tell me that you want to be single for the rest of your life?! Let me tell you this—it doesn’t matter if you want to be alone, but think about me! How many years do I have left? I’m afraid that your mother will blame me when I go to her in the afterlife! After all, she entrusted you to me!”
This again. Ye Moxuan became even grumpier when he heard this. He did not reply to her, donning a cold expression.
Song An realized that her words were slightly too harsh, so she softened her voice and tried again, “Anyway, meet the girls first, will you? You are not in a wheelchair anymore, so stop being delusional and think that people want to get close to you with malicious intentions.”
In the past, many women adored Ye Moxuan’s handsome looks, but when they found out that he was crippled, they would despise him. Contradictorily, they wanted to be associated with the Ye Family, so they wanted to date him because of this.
However, more often than not, one’s gestures and expressions could tell the truth.
They hated him for being crippled.
Moreover, it was rumored that he had erectile dysfunction, so the women despised him even more.
However, everything was different now. Ye Moxuan could stand on both his feet—he was no longer in a wheelchair.
On top of that, he was good looking, had a great physique, came from a prominent background, and was very good in business management.
No one would dislike this version of Ye Moxuan!
In the past few years, many socialites and young ladies took the initiative to throw themselves at him, but Ye Moxuan didn’t even look at them. Looking at him now, Song An knew what he was thinking but she didn’t say anything.
“Well, I’ll tell you this—I don’t care what you’re thinking, or if you have any regrets all these years. Even if you do, it’s useless. You were the one who filed for the divorce, and you were the one who forbade her to enter the Ye Family. Even if you really did see her, you have no right to do anything. Do you understand?”
Ye Moxuan didn’t reply.
“Besides, five years have passed. It’s possible that she has remarried. Even if you do see her now, you can’t disturb her. Do you hear me?”
Ye Moxuan ignored her still. Song An was agitated and directly raised her hand to pull his ear.
“Do you hear me?”
“Tsk!” Ye Moxuan hissed in pain, his entire face turning red. “Let go!”
“Now only you asked me to let you go? Why did you ignore me when I was talking to you just now?”
“Aunty—”
When Song An saw that his ear had turned red from her pulling, she suddenly felt sorry for him. She sighed helplessly then took her hand back.
“Alright, I didn’t mean to be angry with you, but you must take all the things I said seriously. I won’t go back to Su City for the next few days until you are discharged.”
Hearing that, Ye Moxuan recalled the words she had said just now—about how she was going to set up blind dates for him after he was discharged from the hospital—and snapped back to his senses.
“You don’t have to arrange these for me. I can have all the women in the world.”
“Yeah, I know you can, but are you serious about finding one and settling down? If you don’t want to, I’ll have to find one for you. Anyway, this is it. I will arrange it for you. Don’t worry, I definitely find someone who is decent and not vain.”
Ye Moxuan remained silent.
He closed his eyes, the side-profile that he saw last night popping up in his mind.
This is crazy.
I’m crazy.
It had been five years, but he was now all messed up because of her.
At the cemetery.
“Qing, you said you want to bring me somewhere. Did you mean here?”
“Yes.”
Han Qing took Han Muzi deeper into the cemetery. Although they hadn’t reached the place, Han Muzi could guess that Han Qing probably wanted to take her to Madam Han’s tombstone.
Finally, after walking for a while, Han Qing came to a halt. Han Muzi followed his gaze and saw a photo on the tombstone. The woman in the photo looked distant and cold but donned a gentle and polite smile that lit up the coldness in her eyes.
Han Muzi had seen her on a poster in the Han residence five years ago.
Everyone said that she was her mother.
To Han Muzi, the woman was nothing but a stranger.
When Han Muzi saw her, she was slightly overwhelmed with emotions, a little upset.
But, she barely felt any connection with her since they had never spent a second together.
“After you went missing when you were a child, mom worried about you all day long and even went to many places to look for you. When she died, she still couldn’t find any information about your whereabouts. Before she heaved her final breath, she kept holding my hand, telling me that I must find my sister throughout my life. She firmly believed that you were still alive. However, she no longer had the opportunity and time to look for you, so… this task fell on me.”
Hearing his recount of the past incidents, Han Muzi could almost visualize it.
Now that she was a mother, she knew that she might go crazy if Little Bean disappeared one day.
As such, Han Muzi could understand Madam Han’s feelings.
She felt a little sorry for her, but fate had always liked to play tricks on people.
“How did… mom die?”
Logically speaking, she should be quite young when she passed.
