Nothing To Give But My Heart Chapter 901

Ye Moxuan had found Han Muzi before Song An and Yuchi Jin did, and subsequently sent her to the hospital. When the doctor finished examining her, she came out to inform him. “She experienced too much shock, that’s why she fainted.”

He let out a breath of relief at those words—it was fine as long as she was alright. However, what the doctor said immediately after made him feel like he had his heart in his mouth again. “You’re the husband of the patient, right?

Although he wasn’t yet, he had already set his mind on marrying her, so he nodded silently.

The doctor revealed an annoyed expression suddenly. “What kind of a husband are you? How could you let your wife experience such a huge shock? Don’t you know she’s pregnant?”

He was shocked into silence. Pregnant? The news shocked him to the core.

“What’s with your expression? She is almost three months pregnant and the fetus is showing signs of miscarriage! How can you not know that as her husband?” It was very common to see husbands who barely cared for their wives in this hospital, but the doctor’s temper rose and she gave him a good scolding.

After a very long while, he came back to his senses. “I’m sorry, I’ll take care in the future.” His voice was cold and stern, and the aura around his body was different from before. The doctor narrowed her eyes, then told him to go through the hospitalization procedures. Han Muzi’s body was too weak, so she had to be hospitalized for observation for a period to prevent a miscarriage.

As he handled the hospitalization procedures, his lips were tightly pinched together. The indifferent aura around his body seemed like it was about to freeze somebody to death, so the surrounding passersby were automatically avoiding him. When he finished with the formalities, the phone rang. He glanced at the phone and saw that it was Muzi’s phone number on the screen.

Muzi’s phone was still in Song An’s hands, so this call must be coming from Song An. He pondered over it in silence for a moment, then answered the phone.

When Song An rushed to the hospital, she was followed closely behind by Yu Bo; they both had on anxious expressions. Soon, they spotted Ye Moxuan, leaning against a wall, from a distance. However, as they got closer, Song An realized that the aura around Ye Moxuan was different from usual.

At the moment, he stood leaning against the wall. His thin lips were tightly pinched into a line and his lower jaw was clenched tight; his lowered eyelids almost covered his eyes. Although it wasn’t clear what his gaze was like, the aura around his body indicated that he must be rather gloomy right now.

Something isn’t right. Song An slowed her steps down. The moment she heard him say the word ‘hospital’, she felt that something was amiss. Having sent Muzi to the hospital, how could they possibly continue to hide the fact that she was pregnant from him? The current Ye Moxuan had lost his memories from before, and he had only been with Han Muzi for a short period; considering that the fetus in her womb was already three-months-old, no matter how you thought about it… it would turn into a huge misunderstanding. So, does he already know? What will he do? She walked toward him with a mixture of anxiety and doubt.

Before she could open her mouth, he looked up and his gaze fell on her face. “Aunty Song, you’re here.” His voice was cool and indifferent without any emotions in particular.

What’s with this reaction? She couldn’t be certain whether he had already found out about Han Muzi’s pregnancy, nor could she tell what he was thinking about inside. However, she didn’t dare to probe further, and could only ask about Han Muzi’s condition first. “How is Muzi?”

He answered in a neutral voice, “She only received a shock; she’s not injured.”

Did she simply experience a shock? Since she’s not injured, she should be fine. Song An breathed a sigh of relief. Even Yu Bo, who came with her, felt relieved. If something had happened to Han Muzi, then the Yuchi Family would have… landed in very deep water. Moreover, she… was pregnant too. I didn’t even know about this before.

Then, a strange silence fell across the room as the three of them were deep in their thoughts.

Han Muzi felt as if she had slept for a very long time; it was such a long time that she wanted to wake up, but her eyelids were so heavy that she couldn’t open her eyes. People were standing next to her and examining her. They lifted her eyelids to check her eyes, then she heard the voices of several people speaking to each other. She couldn’t make out what they were saying, and her consciousness faded away again. By the time her consciousness returned, the surroundings had completely calmed down.

Han Muzi slowly opened her eyes. Everything in her vision was white, and there were soft beeping noises coming from various machines next to her ears. She turned and saw Ye Moxuan, who was sitting next to her and resting with his eyes closed. As soon as his handsome facial features entered her vision, she immediately recalled what had happened to her. Just when she thought that she was about to fall down the stairs, he had caught her. However, she then collapsed from the shock. Right now… I’m in the hospital. The hospital…

Han Muzi instantly remembered something and her hand instinctively caressed her lower abdomen. Then, she sat up abruptly. However, the sudden excessive force created a wave of dizziness as her vision blacked out for a moment, and she fell backward. Her sudden movements triggered a series of other movements.

Ye Moxuan, who was resting with his eyes closed, jerked open his eyes. He took in the situation before him and quickly reached out to help her. “You’re awake.” His voice was hoarse as if he was feeling under the weather after staying up all night, yet it still carried a seductive feel to it.

It took a while for her vision to return to normal. She grabbed onto his hand and hastily asked, “I…” She wanted to ask if the baby in her womb was fine. However, when her gaze met his deep, dark, and gloomy eyes, the words dried up in her throat; she couldn’t make a single sound as her pale lips parted slightly.

He looked at the complicated expression on her face—her hesitation despite looking like she had something to say—and the words the doctor had said to him previously rang in his ears again. She’s pregnant… He swallowed a few times, then answered, “You’re fine. The doctor said that you experienced a huge shock. You’ll be fine after a good rest.”

Experienced a shock? She subconsciously chewed on her lower lip. After holding it in for a bit, she asked, “Are there no other problems?”

He lifted his eyes at her words, capturing her with his gaze; his stare was sharp but didn’t carry any malice. Her breath got stuck in her throat and her face paled even more.

“What’s wrong?” he asked. His warm breath tickled her face. Stretching out both his hands toward her, he adjusted the pillow behind her. Then, he stared directly into her eyes. In this position, she was trapped between his arms. His gaze and his posture seemed like he was trying to cage her up. She couldn’t tell whether he had found out about her pregnancy or not, and was afraid of letting it slip.

Even so… as time went on, he would find out about her pregnancy sooner or later anyway. In the beginning, she had kept it from him in hopes of giving him a huge surprise when his memories came back. But now… if he had already found out about it, and she continued to keep it from him… Wouldn’t he be disappointed in me?

As she mulled over it, Han Muzi bit down on her lower lip. She decided to spill the beans; she might as well tell him the entire truth. In her eyes, Ye Moxuan wasn’t that kind of person. As long as she was willing to speak, he would give her a chance to explain herself. Although it was a little early… maybe it could even stimulate his memories.

“Actually, I—”

Nothing To Give But My Heart Chapter 902

The words were at the tip of her tongue when Ye Moxuan stood up abruptly. “You just woke up; I’ll get you a glass of water.” Then, he went to fetch her a glass of water.

Han Muzi stared at his back in stunned silence; she had nearly spilled the beans on everything, but he suddenly got up saying he had to get her water. Is it just me? It feels like he’s intentionally avoiding the topic.

She lowered her eyelids as she pondered, pursing her pale lips. If he was trying to avoid the topic, did that mean that he was already aware of it? Well, seeing as they were at a hospital, it wasn’t as if they could hide it from him. All it would take was for a doctor to mention something, and everything that she had kept hidden away for so long would be exposed for all to see.

Soon, he came back with her water. She accepted the glass and quietly sipped the warm water. Her thoughts were scattered all over the place and she couldn’t think of anything to say on the spot. As luck would have it, a knock sounded on the door to the hospital room; Song An pushed open the door and walked into the room.

Looking at the scene in front of her, Song An placed the bag on the bedside table and softly said, “Muzi, are you awake?”

“Aunty.” Ye Moxuan turned around and greeted Song An, then he got up and gave his seat to her. She sat on the edge of the bed and looked back at him.

“I’m going out to make a phone call.” Noticing that they had something to discuss, he took the initiative to speak. He took out his phone and walked out of the hospital room.

Song An watched as Ye Moxuan left the room, then she walked to the door and checked to make sure he had left. After that, she turned back and walked over to Han Muzi.

“Aunty!” Han Muzi placed the glass in her hand down on the table with a loud thud and exclaimed anxiously. “Moxuan…”

“I know what you want to ask me; I’m fretting over the same question myself.” At the sight of her anxious expression, Song An gave her a clear answer without preamble.

Han Muzi paused at her words. “Aunty, you too…”

“That’s right.” Song An nodded.

I see; so just like me, she isn’t sure either. So, the question still stands, does Ye Moxuan know or not?

“What are you thinking right now? If you plan to verify it with him, then you have to be prepared to tell him everything, as well as be prepared to suffer the consequences. Have you… thought about all these?”

Han Muzi lowered her eyelids. “B-Before this, it never even crossed my mind that these things would happen. It was all too sudden.”

“That means you haven’t figured it out just yet. Things are fairly simple right now. The first possibility is that he has already found out about it from the doctor, but he just hasn’t revealed it. As to what he would do, we have no idea right now. However, you know his personality better than I do, so I won’t say more about that. The second possibility is that he doesn’t know anything, and you can continue hiding it. But, you don’t know how much longer you can keep it hidden anyway. In short, you need to think it over by yourself.”

They fell into a heavy silence after their discussion.

To be honest, if he hadn’t gotten up so abruptly to get water for her, she might have told him everything already. She could have gotten it over with then, but now? She didn’t dare to bring it up again. Sigh. Some things just have to be done the moment you decide to go for it. Once the timing and place for it have passed, it becomes very hard to muster up the courage again.

Ye Moxuan returned after his phone call. He came in holding a small bag; inside the bag were some toiletries he had somebody prepare for her. Han Muzi watched as he took out everything and arranged it neatly. When he was done, he walked over to her and saw that she had finished half the glass of water. He asked, “Are you uncomfortable in any way? Should I get a doctor here to examine you?”

Song An was too embarrassed to continue hanging around, so she got up. “Since Muzi seems fine, I’ll be leaving first. Moxuan, I’m leaving Muzi in your care.”

“Alright.”

After Song An left, Han Muzi and Ye Moxuan were the only ones left in the hospital room. A strange silence blanketed the entire room; Han Muzi felt like she should say something to soothe the palpable tension in the room. After pondering on what to say, she lifted her head to look at him. “Erm…”

Ye Moxuan’s eyelids twitched. He walked over to the bed and sat down. “Yeah?”

“About Duanmu Xue…”

The promise she made with Duanmu Xue back at the hotel was still fresh in her mind. Duanmu Xue had seemed to regret her actions and decided to push her down the stairs instead. Duanmu Xue had violated the agreement made between the two of them, so she did not need to abide by the promise any longer. Unfortunately, she did not know how Duanmu Xue was doing right now.

“I left it to George to deal with.” He briefly gave her a run-down. Then, he came forward and covered her properly with the blanket. “Just get some proper rest for now and stop thinking about it. From now on, I will never let you go through these painful experiences again.”

After covering her with the blanket, his hand subconsciously reached out to caress her face and tuck her hair back behind her head; his movements were unbelievably gentle. Feeling the warm touch of his palm, she subconsciously reached out to hold his hand and snuggled her face against the palm of his hand.

Ye Moxuan’s body stiffened. Looking at Han Muzi as she closed her eyes, his eyes darkened considerably. He went to the doctor again just now because he couldn’t believe it. Just to be sure, he had to confirm it with the doctor again. The doctor had very confidently informed him that she was pregnant. Moreover, the fetus was about to be three months old. Three months… Since she appeared in his life up to the point where they had gotten together as a couple, it had only been a month.

Han Muzi suddenly realized that her hand was empty. She opened her eyes, noticing that he had pulled his hand back. She was taken aback. “What’s wrong?”

He indifferently answered, “My hands are a little cold; it will cause you to be cold.”

As he had gone out previously and had been carrying something in his hand all along, the temperature of his hand was slightly cooler than usual. However, she did not care about this. She shook her head. “I don’t mind.”

“The doctor said you have to rest well. Be a good girl; quickly close your eyes and go to sleep.” He adjusted the pillows for her, made her lie down, and tucked her into her blanket.

She felt that he was acting weird, but his expression and his gaze didn’t seem any different. He looked exactly like how he usually does. Maybe I’m overthinking it?

As Ye Moxuan was about to get up, Han Muzi grabbed his wrist suddenly. “If one day, you find out about something you can’t fully accept, what would you do?”

Her question was unmistakably trying to sound him out. Her heart started beating wildly in her chest, unable to maintain a constant rhythm. At the same time, she looked into his eyes nervously, trying to catch a little something from his eyes. However, she only saw a glimmer of doubt in his eyes as he crouched down next to her. “Something I can’t accept?” Then, he lifted his brow and his thin lips curled slightly. “What is something that I can’t accept? Do you have another man?”

Han Muzi didn’t reply.

“Or are you trying to tell me you don’t love me anymore?”

Nothing To Give But My Heart Chapter 903

Han Muzi felt her heart clamoring in her chest as she stared motionlessly at Ye Moxuan. His question felt like he was deliberately probing at her. As she met his gaze, she nervously pursed her pink lips. “That… How did you come to that conclusion?”

Ye Moxuan’s breath blew on her face as his gaze watched her gloomily. “What about you? How did you come up with such a weird question?”

It seemed like he had asked that question in response to her earlier question. She still couldn’t be certain whether he knew or not, however, since he hadn’t said a word about it, there was a high probability that he was still unaware. She shook her head. “It’s nothing; I was just curious.” Then, she grabbed his hand and continued, “But, seriously speaking, if one day, you found out about something you can’t accept, you have to listen to my explanation first, alright?”

Ye Moxuan’s gaze toward her deepened noticeably, carrying a sense of careful consideration. He stared at her to the point where she found it slightly hard to breathe, then his thin lips curved up slightly. “Alright.”

Upon his agreement, Han Muzi let out a breath of relief. “Remember; you promised me.”

“Yeah.”

During her stay at the hospital, George brought Rory along to visit her. As they were coming in, they were bickering with each other. Staring at both of them, she felt rather surprised; she didn’t expect the two of them to become so familiar with each other in such a short period. I guess, when fate comes calling, you can’t stop it even if you wanted to.

After Rory asked about Han Muzi’s health and current condition, she couldn’t resist gossiping with Han Muzi. “Let me tell you this, Muzi. I’ve always thought that George was the kind of debauchee you’d hear stories about—like the ones who only cared about women and fooling around. However, I never expected him to turn out like that only because of some deep emotional trauma from the past.”

“Emotional trauma?” Hearing these two words stunned Han Muzi. She considered George’s usual demeanor and speech carefully. No matter how much she thought about it, he didn’t seem to fit the words ‘emotional trauma’.

“That’s right, that’s right! Didn’t the President carry you away the other day? After that, I went along with George. George and that Duanmu Xue… Ugh—” Before Rory could finish her sentence, her mouth was forcefully gagged by someone else.

It turned out George had eavesdropped on what Rory was saying. When he heard her gossiping about his personal affairs, he rushed over to stop her from speaking further by covering up her mouth. “What—ugh… Let… go…”

He covered her mouth as he tried to drag her outside, all the while smiling at Han Muzi. “Muzi, don’t listen to her nonsense. This girl is super nosy, and she likes to exaggerate too. You shouldn’t believe whatever she just said to you.”

Rory struggled against him as he dragged her out, but her strength couldn’t rival his. In the end, she was so mad she lifted her foot and stomped down on his foot. George widened his eyes in pain; it hurt so much he couldn’t even make a sound.

Seizing her chance while he was in pain, she pushed him away. “If you don’t want me to talk about it then so be it. Why do you have to get physical with me? Don’t you know there’s a physical difference between men and women? Should I report you for harassment?”

George was in so much pain he couldn’t even formulate a reply.

Their bickering created a disturbance in the hospital room and it became lively and energetic. However, Ye Moxuan, who was reading on his laptop by the side, only felt that they were being rowdy. He unwittingly frowned as he looked over at them and his thin lips twitched. Just as he was about to reprimand them for making a cacophony, he caught sight of Han Muzi’s cheerful profile. Over the past two days, while staying in the hospital room, her complexion hadn’t been bad, but she seemed a little lifeless. Now that Rory and George were creating a ruckus here, she seemed a little more energetic compared to before.

Perhaps, she enjoys this atmosphere? As he pondered over it, his hostility faded away and his eyes returned to the laptop screen. Forget it; since she enjoys it, then they can continue with their nonsense. It may be a little loud, but at least she likes it.

George and Rory bickered between themselves for a long while before they noticed that Han Muzi wasn’t the only person in the hospital room—there was another powerful presence. They shut their mouths at the same time, then looked over in Ye Moxuan’s direction.

Oh no. We were being overly excited just now. They had forgotten that there was such a terrifying person in the room too. We were being so loud and rambunctious just now; did we disturb him?

As the thought went through their minds, Ye Moxuan lifted his gaze and stared at them as if he could sense what they were thinking. His gaze was icy; just one glance was enough to make the soles of their feet cold.

Rory subconsciously moved her feet and shrank back behind George. Her body was small—she was short and slim. On the other hand, George was big and strong. Hiding behind him blocked her out of Ye Moxuan’s sight entirely.

George was left to meet Ye Moxuan’s gaze alone. A stiff smile appeared on his lips. “That, uh, Yuchi, we weren’t being noisy on purpose. We were just trying to cheer Muzi up! Right, Muzi?” He then looked over at Han Muzi and cast a pleading look at her.

Han Muzi, thinking that they were a pair of clowns, nodded her head in agreement. “Yeah, I don’t mind. He won’t mind it either, so don’t worry.”

Ye Moxuan was moved by her words. His gaze fell on her face subconsciously. It just so happened that she glanced over too; her clean and clear eyes were like spring water—devoid of impurities—and carried only tender affection. Was there any man on Earth who could stand against the woman he loved as she gazed at him like that? He swallowed a few times and his eyes darkened. After a moment, he shifted his gaze away with difficulty and coldly said, “I don’t mind, but you can leave now.”

At the sound of ‘I don’t mind’, George’s face had lighted up with joy, but his expression fell again not a moment later. As a man, how could he not notice what Ye Moxuan’s gaze and actions meant? It was obvious he could barely restrain his desires toward Han Muzi, so he was trying to drive them out now. Hmph, I refuse to go along with your wishes.

He looked toward Han Muzi. “Muzi, since it’s such a rare chance for us to be here, wouldn’t it be such a waste if we just left like this? Why don’t we stay for a little longer and join you guys for lunch?”

Lunch? If there were so many people, it would be lively. Han Muzi nodded. She was just about to answer when Ye Moxuan stood up and coldly cut in. “Should I move the entire restaurant here for you too?”

George’s smile stiffened. Rory, who was hiding behind him, didn’t even dare to breathe. Ye Moxuan’s glare just now was far too terrifying.

Ye Moxuan had already walked over; Han Muzi pulled at his shirt, hinting for him to dial back on his hostility. Instead, he caught her wrist and held it in his palm. “The caretaker is coming over to deliver the food later. Are you sure you want to stay here and watch us eat?”

George said nothing. He could tell what Ye Moxuan was thinking—he just wanted to be alone with Han Muzi and wanted the third-wheelers gone. At first, he wanted to continue going against Ye Moxuan. However, after thinking it over, he decided against it. Would he still be able to have a good life in the future if he offended Ye Moxuan?

At that exact moment, Rory pulled at George’s shirt and suggested timidly. “Why don’t we go out for lunch?”

Nothing To Give But My Heart Chapter 904

“Alright, alright. We won’t take up any more of your time. Muzi, we’ll visit you again on another day.” In the end, George decided to say his goodbyes to Han Muzi.

The smile on Han Muzi’s face was awkward. After all, it was rude of Ye Moxuan to chase away their guests in this manner, but he didn’t seem to care at all. “My apologies, George and Rory. I will join you for a meal when I am discharged from the hospital. It’s just not convenient today.”

Rory hurriedly waved her hand when her name was mentioned. “It’s not a problem; we understand, Muzi. Right, George?”

George nodded in agreement, then they left the hospital room together. As they left, he threw a resentful glare at Ye Moxuan.

The moment they left, the hospital room returned to silence—the energy and vitality from before gradually disappeared. Han Muzi looked at Ye Moxuan and couldn’t help saying, “Can you be a little nicer to them next time?”

Ye Moxuan narrowed his eyes at her words, looking at her dangerously. “Are you asking me to be nice to other women?”

“That’s not what I meant. I just wanted to point out that George and Rory are our friends,” she explained.

He leaned close to her, supporting himself with one hand placed next to her. His voice was gruff. “So? You are the only person I treat nicely; is that a bad thing?”

She couldn’t say anything in response. Of course, it’s a good thing if he only treats her well. Be that as it may, his personality was so cold that other people could not approach him at all. She changed the way she worded it. “I’m not trying to chide you over how well you treat others. However, didn’t you see what happened just now? Rory was so afraid of you that she was hiding behind George! What do you think about that?”

He arched his brow. “Isn’t that great? I’d rather they avoid me; it’s better than having them cling to me.”

“You’re overthinking it. Rory is different from the rest; she won’t cling to you.”

“What about you?” He suddenly held her chin and narrowed his eyes slightly. This time, his gaze carried no sense of danger to it; instead, it revealed his desire for her. His voice was raspy with a hint of huskiness. “What kind of intentions did you have in the beginning when you approached me?”

His sudden closeness made her breath hitch. “You…”

“Did you have the same intentions as those clingy women around me?”

Han Muzi remained silent.

“Or are you saying you were different from them?”

Staring into his eyes, she took out her hand from under the blankets and grabbed the hand holding her chin. She reflected the question back at him. “What do you think?”

Ye Moxuan was stunned for a moment, then his thin lips slowly curved upward. He leisurely pressed his body down, his voice becoming softer. “You are different from them…” Immediately after that, his thin lips pressed down on hers, kissing her.

She felt her vision go dark for a moment, then she was already being kissed. She reflexively tried to evade, but the large hands holding her chin made their way to the back of her head, firmly holding her in place. Following that, he deepened the kiss.

This posture was uncomfortable—he was standing while she sat. She couldn’t move as he was holding the back of her head, so she was forced to lift her head and accept his kiss. In the next moment, the hospital room was flooded with intense desire. It wasn’t until her breathing ran ragged that he reluctantly backed off, his eyes staring at her passionately. The expression in his eyes was so hungry she felt as if he could devour her whole at any time. But, this was a hospital.

Han Muzi reached her hand out and placed it against his chest, then whispered, “N-Next time… you shouldn’t kiss me so casually here.”

“Why?” He gave a low laugh. “Are you worried I’d take you right here?”

His words set her face aflame in an instant. She gritted her teeth and glared at him. “What nonsense are you talking about?”

Ye Moxuan did not care that she accused him of speaking nonsense. His hand slowly slid down her waist and finally stopped at her abdomen. She was so nervous she didn’t dare to move an inch.

Why… It was such a coincidence for him to put his hand on her abdomen. Her belly wasn’t showing yet because she had clothes on; if he placed his hand on her abdomen, then…

As expected, his narrow eyes filled with laughter as he said, “You’ve gotten fatter.”

She kept silent.

He removed his hand immediately after that. However, there was a slight change in her expression. His calm and composed expression seemed to indicate that nothing was wrong, but her heart was clamoring in her chest because of his sentence just now. Her lips parted. “I—”

“Don’t try to deny it. Recently, you’ve only been in a continuous cycle of sleeping after eating, then eating again after sleeping. Are you trying to say you didn’t gain any weight?”

Fine, I might have gotten fatter too, but… Her bloated belly was probably due to her pregnancy showing. Luckily, he didn’t say anything about it.

In the following days, Han Muzi was cooped up in the hospital to recuperate. In reality, she had been allowed to be discharged from the hospital earlier but Ye Moxuan refused to agree to it, saying that she had to continue recovering in the hospital for a few more days.

Unable to persuade him otherwise, she finally managed to convince him to let her be discharged on New Year’s Day as she didn’t want to spend the day stuck in the hospital all alone. Her words probably sounded very pitiful toward the end, so he agreed to let her leave the hospital on New Year’s Eve. He would come to pick her up in the afternoon.

Song An visited her at the hospital every day. As they chatted, they would sometimes discuss Yuchi Family affairs. Song An was still unwilling to speak about, listen to, or care about the Yuchi Family and it would show on her face at the mere mention of the Yuchi Family. She only spoke briefly about it after being asked repeatedly.

“I know what you’re worried about. You’re probably worrying over Moxuan; you’re scared that the relationship between him and his grandfather would turn sour. However, that grandfather popped up in his life suddenly, Muzi. Even as his biological grandfather, he can’t meddle too much. Even if the relationship soured in the future, it’s still a blessing to your relationship.”

Han Muzi blinked. “But… what if he regrets it when his memories come back?”

“Are you going to try to make Yuchi Jin accept you?” Song An asked.

Han Muzi said nothing. Sighing, Song An tried to comfort her, “Actually, during the time you were kidnapped by Duanmu Xue, I’ve already informed the old man about your pregnancy. Despite Moxuan staying here in the hospital with you and putting the company affairs on hold these past few days, he hasn’t said a word. I’m guessing the old man is too embarrassed to intervene for now. Besides, what with everything Duanmu Xue has done, he has enough on his plate for a while.”

“Aunty, do you think if Moxuan’s grandfather knew about me… he would…”

“Currently he’s too busy to take notice. Of course, that only applies to this current period. Once he has finished dealing with the affairs relating to Duanmu Xue, he would come to me, as well as look for the two of you.”

Hearing this, she fell silent in agreement. What am I worried about? All these issues will come knocking on my door when the time is right anyway.

Han Muzi was not aware that right now, in their home country, Little Bean was starting to pack his luggage.

Nothing To Give But My Heart Chapter 905

Yan had just finished her shower; as she walked by his room, she saw him bent over packing his luggage with his butt in the air. She couldn’t help rolling her eyes at the sight and approached him as she dried her hair. “Little Bean, why are you preparing your luggage so soon? There are still a few more days until New Year’s Day.”

Little Bean heard her, but he didn’t even bother to look back and simply continued to pack diligently.

“Hey, I’m talking to you!” She stomped her foot when the little guy ignored her.

He finally looked back with a snort. “So, you’re aware that it’s only a few more days until New Year’s Day, Aunt Yan. I’m packing my luggage in advance so that I can be sure I have everything prepared.” He finished, then seemed to feel that he did not say enough, so he added, “I don’t want to become like my Aunt Yan who likes to do things rashly at the last minute”

His words immediately raised her hackles; her voice became slightly mean. “What did you say?”

Little Bean put his hands on his hips and scornfully said, “When I was with Mommy before, she would always say that you were a reckless person. If you can’t even take care of yourself, how are you going to take care of others?”

Oh my God. Yan felt a little faint; she couldn’t believe that Little Bean was able to remember what Han Muzi had casually complained about so clearly. “That’s enough from you. You are always taking a jab at me. Are there any benefits to making fun of me? Continue doing it and I will ignore you, or even refuse to bring you abroad. You can go to the airport alone.”

Little Bean wasn’t afraid; if he had to go to the airport alone, then so be it. However, he was still too young; if he tried to board the plane by himself without a guardian, he would be unable to pass the boarding gates. Sigh. Thinking about how he still had to rely on her despite his genius, he felt extremely sad and depressed. However, he had to bear with it for the sake of meeting Mommy, Daddy, and Daddy’s stingy grandfather.

At that thought, he dropped everything in his hand, turned around, and ran over to Yan; he hugged her thigh. “I was wrong, Aunt Yan. In truth, you’re not reckless at all! You’re super cute and in the future, you’re going to be my aunt!”

At the sound of him calling her ‘aunt’, she immediately felt better. Her red lips curled upward slightly. “Just because you called me ‘aunt’, I’ll bring you there even if I die. But, if your mommy blames it on me when we get there, you have to help me out!”

“Sure!” He nodded and blinked, then spoke with an innocent expression, “I will use the words you taught me. I will tell Mommy that I threatened you with my life and forced you to bring me abroad.”

“That’s right. At that time, you have to exaggerate it too! You must elaborate on how you begged me, yet I still refused. Finally, you threatened to take your life and I had no other choice but to agree with you. Do you understand?”

“I understand, Aunt Yan.” Looking at the proud expression on her face, he couldn’t bear to burst her bubble. If Mommy heard those words, she would definitely figure out right away that Aunt Yan was the one who had told him what to say. Hehe, Aunt Yan is such a silly little thing!

“By the way, Uncle Qing still doesn’t know about this right? You definitely can’t let him know! If he knew we were planning to sneak out to visit your mommy, he would definitely stop us!” Although Yan wished that Han Qing could go with them—she could try to bond with him during their trip—he was a madman who spoiled his sister rotten. If she told him about it, not only would he not join them, he would even restrict their movements.

However, she didn’t expect that someone would come knocking on her door the day after she booked the flight tickets. She had just arrived at work to prepare her materials when she heard from her assistant that someone was looking for her and had already been directed to the lounge. Thinking it was a client, she went to the lounge. Unexpectedly, she saw a person she didn’t want to meet the moment she pushed open the door—Xiao Su!

She was surprised to see Xiao Su; she never expected him to come looking for her. After he had gotten injured in the previous incident, they had not met again. Looking at him now, his injuries had healed but it left a deep scar on his face. She was stunned for a few moments before she strode into the room.

When Xiao Su saw her, he stood up and flashed a small smile at her. “You’re here.”

Yan couldn’t help gasping at the sight of his face from the front. Compared to before, Xiao Su had lost a lot of weight—even his chin became sharper. Due to his weight loss, the contours of his face became more defined and his eyebrows were unyielding. At first, she thought he would be uglier with the scar on his face. But, the scar didn’t affect his appearance; in fact, it gave him a tough-guy look.

The last time she saw him, he had been injured. That scene came to mind unbidden even now—he had been covered in blood—just thinking about it felt painful. She pulled at her lip and smiled at him. “Are your injuries… all healed?”

Xiao Su paused in surprise—as if he never expected her to worry about his injuries—then came back to his senses and nodded. “Yes, it’s healed perfectly. Thank you for asking.”

Thereupon, they fell back into silence. She didn’t know why the atmosphere between them felt so awkward. Could it be due to the words he had said to her when they first came back? Those words had sparked a fight between them. Was that why the atmosphere between them was so awkward now?

After a while, Yan tried to break the tension again. “Erm… Why did you come here so suddenly? Do you need my help for something?”

Xiao Su nodded and asked her to take a seat. Then, he took out his identity card and placed it on the table. His actions puzzled her and she looked at him doubtfully. “What is the meaning of this?” Why is he giving me his identity card out of the blue?

He mulled over it for a long time, trying to word his thoughts. No matter how he worded them, every sentence seemed to come out wrongly. Finally, he decided to lay it out in a straightforward manner. “You’re going abroad to visit Miss Muzi and Young Master Ye, right?”

She was stunned to hear those words, and reflexively questioned him, “How did you know?” The moment her question came out, she realized her slip of the tongue and quickly added, “No, we are not. How did you hear about this?”

Her cute reaction had already given her away, yet she still seemed to think that she had managed to cover up her blunder perfectly. Xiao Su’s expression remained unchanged, but there was a faint smile in his eyes. “I have ways to find out everything I want to know. President Han doesn’t know about your trip to visit Miss Muzi and Young Master Ye this time, does he?”

She was so nervous she clenched her fists and looked at him warily.

“If President Han doesn’t know about it, then you probably haven’t informed Miss Muzi, who is also the Young Lady of the Ye Family, either.”

Yan furrowed her brows together. “What are you trying to get at? Did you come all the way here for this? Are you trying to stop me? Or are you planning to tattle on me?”

Nothing To Give But My Heart Chapter 906

Xiao Su did not anticipate her to react so strongly. Moreover, what on earth was she thinking? Why would she expect him to come looking here just to stop her? Or, did the words he said previously, which had inadvertently hurt her, made her warier toward him? So, no matter what he said now, would it still make her suspicious of him?

Caught up in his thoughts, he forced himself to smile, hoping to make himself look less threatening. It was fine when he wasn’t smiling, but when he smiled, the scar on his face became even more ferocious. Yan’s brows shot upward and the corners of her mouth twitched. “W-What exactly do you want?”

Seeing the terror in her eyes, which wasn’t there before, he was bewildered. Then, seeming to have realized something, he reached up his hand to touch the scar on his face. “Ah, did I scare you?” Saying that, the smile slid off his face and his gaze unmistakably looked sad. “I’m sorry.” He knew the scar on his face was terrifying—simply smiling made it even more horrifying. Normally, he was conscious of it and tried his best not to let anyone face him directly. But, today of all days… he forgot to do so.

It wasn’t his intention to cause her to be frightened. Seeing his lowered eyes and depressed manner, Yan instantly felt uncomfortable. He had been so badly hurt; for her to express her emotions so clearly on her face, wasn’t she simply rubbing salt in his wounds?

“Erm… I wasn’t frightened by you; please don’t misunderstand.” She thought about it and decided to explain herself, “I was just afraid that you would stop me from bringing Little Bean to visit Muzi. There was no other meaning to my expression.”

He lifted his head again at her words. Once again, she could see the terrifying scar. It was really scary to look at. However, since the beginning, that wound… seemed painful just to look at.

“Don’t worry. I have the same intentions as you do. It’s been a long time… since I’ve met with Young Master Ye.”

Hearing his words, she vaguely understood the meaning behind his words. Hesitatingly, she asked, “Don’t tell me… you want to come with us?”

Xiao Su nodded his head.

Yan breathed a sigh of relief, her guard against him dissolving in an instant. “You should’ve said so earlier. You could’ve just said you wanted to come with us! Your opening act was so long; I thought you were here to stop me!” She glared at him resentfully. He scared me to death just now!

He rubbed his nose. He thought he had been very straightforward; was he still being indirect? Then, the next time he had something to discuss with her, he had better be blunter with his words.

He was deep in thought when she picked up his identity card from the table. “You want me to book your flight tickets for you, right?”

“Yes. I want to be on the same flight. I will reimburse you twice the amount of the costs of the flight tickets later.”

Holding the identity card in her hand, she pondered over something. “Alright, I understand. I’ll handle the flight tickets for you. How should I return your identity card to you?”

“Seeing as it’s only a few days away, let us exchange our phone numbers. You can just send me the flight details on my phone and return my identity card to me when we meet on the plane.”

She nodded. “Sure, no problem.”

Having achieved his goal, Xiao Su left. As he got up to leave, she watched his figure from the back. Thinking about how she had let out a terrified expression at the sight of his scar, she wanted to stop him and comfort him somehow. However, she couldn’t say a single word. Forget it! He’s already hurting. If I said anything more about it, wouldn’t I just make him feel worse?

In the end, Yan said nothing and Xiao Su soon left the company. Afterward, she bought his flight tickets and sent the flight details to him.

In the blink of an eye, it was time for the trip.

Yan had chosen a midnight flight. Since she had to work during the day, and Little Bean had to join his uncle for lunch, a flight during the day would have been discovered easily. Therefore, she bought a midnight flight instead. When the time came, she and Little Bean carried a backpack each, lugged their luggage with them, and got in a car to head for the airport.

The airport at night was still brightly lit and many people were coming and going. She and Little Bean had been wrapped in many layers, including a hat, sunglasses, scarves, and an overcoat. Luckily, it was winter right now, so they could get away with pretending to be keeping warm despite how balled up they were. If it had been summer, they would have been smothered to death from being wrapped up like that.

“Little Bean.” She stretched out her finger and poked the little guy’s shoulder. “Look around and see if your daddy’s assistant has arrived.”

“Aunt Yan, you’ve wrapped me up in too many layers! I can’t move!” Little Bean retorted.

Yan was speechless for a moment. “What nonsense are you saying? I was just afraid that you’d feel cold so I made sure you had enough clothes on, alright? Don’t you know how cold that damn place, where your mommy is staying, is? If you don’t have enough layers on, you could freeze to death when you get off the plane later!”

“But we could have packed our clothes in our luggage and put them on after we got off the plane! Why do we have to wear them now? Aunt Yan, you’re such a clown! Just because you wanted to wear them, you forced me along with your farce! You were just afraid of being embarrassed if you did it alone!”

“My God! If you continue insulting me, believe it or not, I’m going to ditch you here!” Yan said.

“Hmph! Ditch me if you want to. I’ll just look for daddy’s assistant myself. I can get Mr. Xiao Su to bring me aboard the plane!”

“Sure, go ahead then! Besides, the flight tickets are with me. If you go with Mr. Xiao Su, I’ll make sure to seat you far, far away from us!”

“Aunt Yan, you’re terrible! I’m going to tell Uncle Qing.”

At the mention of Han Qing, Yan’s expression changed immediately. She leaned forward and appealed flatteringly, “Don’t! I didn’t mean what I said just now. When the time comes, I’ll bring you along with me! I won’t even let you stray away from my side. Be a good boy, alright? We’re taking this trip in secret, so we can’t let others find out about it. If we dress like this, nobody can recognize us!”

Even then, Little Bean couldn’t be bothered to talk to her. Based on their figures—one big and one small, and dressed the way they were as they roamed the airport—they stood out like a sore thumb. If there were any of Han Qing’s informants here, they would quickly be discovered. As they were exchanging words, his eyes glinted. “I’ve found Mr. Xiao Su.”

She glanced about her surroundings when she heard him say that. “Where? Where? Why don’t I see him?”

He lifted his head and shot her a look, then kindly reminded her, “Aunt Yan, you’d spot Mr. Xiao Su immediately if you took off your hat.”

Her duck-billed cap had been pulled low; when she glanced around, she could only see the ground, and could not see anything higher. At his reminder, she realized that she was way too conspicuous. Therefore, she hurriedly took off her hat. Sure enough, she spotted Xiao Su immediately—he was walking toward them from not too far away.

Looking at Yan, Little Bean couldn’t help curling his lips at her. Won’t we be getting the short end of the stick if I matched this silly Aunt Yan with Uncle Qing? What if their future babies turned out to be as stupid as her? How repulsive! Little Bean wrinkled his nose.

Xiao Su’s strides were long; he quickly reached where they were standing. Noticing how they were balled up like rice dumplings, he asked, “Is it very cold?”

Being questioned like that, Yan felt slightly embarrassed and could only stubbornly nod her head. “It’s cold! Aren’t you cold?”

Nothing To Give But My Heart Chapter 907

Xiao Su hesitated before answering, “I’m alright.”

Yan looked up at Xiao Su just when he glanced at her and their eyes met. Xiao Su turned away almost immediately. “Have you collected the tickets?”

“Haven’t we just arrived? Let’s collect our tickets now.”

The three of them approached the automated counter to collect their tickets. Yan struggled slightly when she was trying to take her phone out. Little Bean, who stood beside her, blurted out, “Aunt Yan, why don’t we keep our outerwear in the suitcase first?” The poor guy was feeling hot and stuffy.

Yan was unable to reprimand Little Bean in Xiao Su’s presence, so she turned around to grimace at Little Bean. “Be good now. You are a child, so you need to wear more layers. I wouldn’t be able to explain myself to your mom if you catch a cold.”

Little Bean pouted. “But we are going there in secret anyway. Mommy doesn’t know we are flying out to see her.”

“Well, you are meeting your mom later, aren’t you? How should I explain myself if you ended up with a cold?”

Xiao Su placed the suitcase down while they chattered away. He squatted down and started to unbutton Little Bean’s jacket.

Yan stared at him in disbelief. What is wrong with him? Is he completely ignoring me?

Xiao Su helped Little Bean out of his overcoat. After that, he folded the coat and kept it in the suitcase. Little Bean felt immediate relief and thanked Xiao Su with a bright smile, “Thank you, Mr. Xiao.”

Little Bean had always been a sweet and polite kid. In fact, he was even friendlier with those who were close to him.

Xiao Su had mixed feelings when he observed this young child, who closely resembled Ye Moxuan. This was because the child had such a gentle expression while speaking to Xiao Su and always politely greeted him. Previously, I was in shock after learning that Young Master Ye has a son. However, I had never met his child. Now, after meeting him, I realized that this little fellow takes after Young Master Ye’s looks, but his personality is the exact opposite of Ye Moxuan’s. I doubt I’d have such a difficult time if Young Master Ye is as half as easy-going as this child.

“Hey!” Yan shouted loudly after feeling neglected when Xiao Su spaced out for a prolonged period.

Hence, he snapped back to reality. Then, he stood up while asking her, “Why don’t you take off your overcoat too? It’s quite uncomfortable and stuffy to wear two layers of jackets.”

Yan snorted at him. “Did I ask for your opinion? I will take it off if I feel warm!”

Xiao Su was rendered speechless by her reaction. However, he immediately looked away when their eyes met again.

Yan thought to herself angrily, This man has gone overboard. When did I offend him? Why does he look away each time he sees my face? Hang on, is there something on my face?

Yan pursed her lips at the thought of that possibility. She turned around and switched on her phone camera to check her face, noting however that there was nothing strange on her face. Why does Xiao Su look away each time he sees me?

“I will collect the tickets.” Just when Yan was hesitating, Xiao Su took her phone away.

After selecting their seats, the three of them lined up for the security check. Little Bean felt much more refreshed after taking his coat off earlier and the temperature felt just right for him.

Yan, on the other hand, felt hot and stuffy since she had been stubborn with Xiao Su earlier. Little Bean turned around to check on her several times. “Aunt Yan, do you want to take your jacket off?”

Yan had been about to do so, but after Little Bean’s comment, she immediately answered with a stern expression, “I’m not taking it off. I am feeling very cold.”

“Oh.” Little Bean squinted at her. “Aunt Yan, do you need me to get you a scarf then?”

Yan glared at him when she heard that and made a gesture, as if to teach him a lesson. However, Little Bean stuck his tongue out at her before dashing toward Xiao Su, who was in front of them.

Yan finally took her coat off after Xiao Su’s advice upon boarding the plane since the seat felt crammed and was so refreshed that she wanted to lie flat in relief.

The plane taxied for a while before Yan felt the sensation of the plane losing its weight, and she grabbed onto her side instinctively.

Xiao Su was about to get some shut-eye when someone abruptly grabbed his hand. He was astonished at that moment and was even more shocked when he turned to see that it was Yan grabbing his hand.

At that moment, Yan had her eyes screwed shut and she was so afraid that her eyelashes fluttered out of fear constantly.

Xiao Su was aware that some people were frightened by the sense of weightlessness during flights. However, he was unfazed by that feeling because he had cheated death once. There had been a slim chance of survival in that plane accident. He had experienced much worse, so he was more open-minded about life and death these days.

Xiao Su had mixed feelings now that he saw Yan grabbing onto his hand in fear. Those who are afraid of death must be having a relatively happy life!

Soon, the sense of weightlessness vanished and the plane continued with its route. Yan finally opened her eyes gradually and was shocked that she immediately pulled her hand away when she realized that she was grabbing onto Xiao Su’s hand. “I’m sorry. Just now, I…”

Xiao Su was bewildered when he met her eyes, but he looked away swiftly. “Don’t worry about it,” he answered calmly.

Yan was slightly suspicious when she saw Xiao Su’s reaction. This person is strange. Why does he look away the moment he sees my face? However, she suddenly felt embarrassed when she recalled that she grabbed onto his hand earlier. Hence, she pouted and kept quiet.

On the other hand, Xiao Su bowed his head and stared at the spot on his hand where Yan grabbed onto him earlier.

Time passed swiftly and soon, it was almost time for Han Muzi’s discharge from the hospital. During this period, her daily life consisted of eating and sleeping in the hospital. Sometimes, she would head downstairs to the garden for a walk.

However, it became extremely boring for her in the hospital because she only interacted with hospitalized patients.

There had been an incident where she met a hospitalized young man. At that time, Ye Moxuan left her for a while and it so happened that a man approached Han Muzi for a chat since he saw her strolling alone around the hospital grounds.

Ye Moxuan’s expression darkened when he returned. Seeing this, the male patient profusely apologized before leaving straight away.

After that, Ye Moxuan took Han Muzi back to her hospital room. He still wore a dark expression as he returned after completing the discharge procedures. As such, Han Muzi couldn’t help but tease him when she saw that, “What is with the long face? He approached me for a chat. I did not take the initiative to chat with him.”

Ye Moxuan squinted at her after she said that. His hand shot out suddenly to hold her face and he approached her menacingly. “You seem rather pleased with yourself that someone flirted with you.”

Han Muzi took the chance to wrap her arms around his neck and she pouted. “Why shouldn’t I be pleased when someone here is dripping with jealousy?”

Jealousy? Ye Moxuan was stunned into silence when he heard that.

Am I feeling jealous? In that case, am I feeling jealous recently because I learned about her pregnancy? I haven’t been able to sleep due to this issue. Apart from feeling that I’ve been lied to and betrayed, I also feel like a fool because she has me wrapped around her finger. This is a typical example: I already know about her pregnancy, yet when I see other men trying to flirt and chat with her, I get furious. I will not allow anyone else to touch her!

Nothing To Give But My Heart Chapter 908

Ye Moxuan was lost in his thoughts as he stood still while watching her.

Han Muzi noticed the disdain reflected in his deep, dark eyes and she lost her confidence. Did I go overboard with my joke? Is that why he’s angry?

Considering that possibility, Han Muzi reached out to tug his sleeve and she whispered, “What is up with you?”

Ye Moxuan snapped back to his senses and realized that she was looking at him helplessly. His thoughts vanished instantly when he saw her vulnerable expression.

Forget it. What is the use of thinking about such things? Everything would be fine as long as she stays by my side. The way she looks at me and the way she treats me is definitely sincere. Why does it matter if she was in love or has liked someone else in the past? Only thing is… I am almost losing my mind out of jealousy toward that person. Her unborn child…

He suddenly felt something against his cheek. Ye Moxuan saw Han Muzi looking at him worriedly. “What happened to you? You seem so distracted. Did I say something wrong earlier?”

Ye Moxuan regained his composure and answered her, “Stop imagining things.”

Am I imagining things? Han Muzi bit her lower lip. “It’s just that I always have this feeling that you are in a foul mood recently. Did I do something wrong?”

I might have been too excited since I was rather pleased with myself. If I knew that he didn’t like it, I wouldn’t have behaved like that.

Just when she was deep in thought, Ye Moxuan raised his hand suddenly to touch the tip of her nose lightly.

Han Muzi gazed into his eyes when she snapped back to her senses and she saw his thin lips parting. “Are you imagining things? I am not in a good mood because you have been admitted to the hospital. How can I possibly be happy with this going on?”

It makes sense when he puts it that way. He wouldn’t be in a good mood since I’ve been admitted to the hospital after the kidnapping. Not to mention, I almost fell down the stairs. In that case, was I overthinking?

“Pack your things; let’s go home.” Ye Moxuan held her hand and they both walked back to her hospital room.

The two of them started to pack her things. On the other side, upon learning that Han Muzi was discharged from the hospital, Song An went to her apartment beforehand to whip up a nutritious meal for her.

Only after Han Muzi got into the car did she remember that it was Chinese New Year’s Eve tonight.

To be honest, the entire family should be reunited to celebrate Chinese New Year. However, Ye Moxuan has yet to recover his memories and I can’t have Little Bean over to celebrate the New Year. Nevertheless, I have already framed a printed photograph of Little Bean and I and kept it in my locked drawer. Will that count as celebrating Chinese New Year together if I take the framed photograph with me? Well, at least it’s something.

Han Muzi blurted out, “Can I drop by my previous rented house?”

Her previous rented unit had been empty ever since Ye Moxuan moved her to her current accommodation, but she never tendered her termination notice because there were some things that were still in the apartment.

Ye Moxuan nodded. “Sure.” Then, he changed the direction of the car.

After fifteen minutes, the car stopped downstairs of the apartment building. Han Muzi exited the car, but she stopped Ye Moxuan when he wanted to follow her upstairs.

“I’m just dropping by to collect some things, so you just have to wait for me in the car for a bit. I will be done in a few minutes.”

She wanted to take the framed photograph of Little Bean and it wouldn’t be good if he saw it when he came up with her.

Ye Moxuan glared at her. “Do you not need me to accompany you?”

Han Muzi shook her head. “No, I will be quick. Besides, I won’t be carrying anything heavy. You don’t have to accompany me.”

Seeing as she did not need his help at all, Ye Moxuan did not insist. He pursed his thin lips together and nodded, but he reminded her, “Call out for me at the corridor if you need help.”

“Sure.” With that, Han Muzi turned around to head upstairs and she took her key out to open the door. Coincidentally, the woman next door came out with a bag of garbage and she looked slightly surprised. “It’s you! Why are you back?”

Han Muzi was stunned when she saw the woman before recalling the unkind words that the latter previously mentioned. Hence, she ignored her neighbor and merely nodded in acknowledgement while continuing to unlock the door.

The neighbor was jealous and upset when Han Muzi refused to respond to her. Thus, she commented with a contemptuous snort, “Has that rich man abandoned you? Is that why you have returned? Well, like I’ve said, you never return the rented unit after moving out, so that must mean that you have a Plan B in the event that you are dumped by a man. You’re keeping this place in the event that you need a place to live. Sigh, tell me, how much money have you siphoned off him? He seemed to be wealthy, judging from his car.”

Click! Han Muzi opened the door and pushed it slightly ajar. Once that was done, she turned to face the neighbor stoically. Her eyes were void of emotions and warmth, as if she stared at a dead person.

The neighbor was shocked by her gaze and she pouted sheepishly. “A-Am I wrong? You found a wealthy man in such a short span of time. Did you not use indecent means to achieve that?”

Han Muzi smirked at her. “What the hell does that have to do with you?”

The neighbor was shocked by her answer and she stammered, “W-What is with your tone? What is it? You can’t think I’m being impolite now, can you?”

Han Muzi turned around after yanking her key out and she walked deliberately toward the neighbor. “In that case, remember to record yourself when you speak the next time, so that you can listen to yourself on playback when you are at home and reflect on what you have said.”

Despite being at least an inch taller than Han Muzi, for some reason, the neighbor felt that her aura was diminished when she faced Han Muzi. “I-I’m not impolite. I am just telling the truth.”

“What is the truth? Have you witnessed anything in person? I have never lodged a complaint against you for being noisy in the middle of the night, yet you have made scathing remarks behind my back. If you’re jealous, why don’t you seduce a man? I’d like to see if you are able to seduce one in such a short time, just so that he’d rescue you from this slum.”

The last part of her remark hit a raw point in the neighbor’s nerve because her eyes bulged in anger all of a sudden. “W-What did you say? Are you not embarrassed of yourself? Are you taking pride in what you have done?”

“Why should I feel embarrassed? After all, someone has lost her mind out of jealousy. Otherwise, she would not be so unpleasant and impolite each time she bumps into me.” There was no anger in Han Muzi’s tone when she said those words. In fact, her gaze was ice-cold and her tone was calm. However, her comments hit a sore spot with the neighbor because the woman retreated a couple of steps and resentfully glared at Han Muzi.

Han Muzi smirked at her. “Have you admitted defeat? You have caused so much trouble for me and I expected much more from you. Are you speechless after my comments? In that case, don’t you provoke me in the future. Otherwise, I will ensure that you would not be able to continue staying in this slum.”

In reality, the place was never a slum at all. However, the neighbor truly disliked the place. She had always dreamt of a bigger house, so she was jealous when she saw Han Muzi leaving with Ye Moxuan. In addition, she thought that her boyfriend was rather useless and deep down, she even looked down on herself. I should have known better and did exactly as Han Muzi did. I should have found a handsome, young, rich and powerful man for myself. Why am I wasting my youth by living with a poor man?

The more the neighbor thought about it, the more she felt sorry for herself. She vented her frustrations by picking a fight with her boyfriend. He became annoyed with her after such arguments and left for a round of drinks. She needed to vent and when she saw Han Muzi returning home, she stirred up trouble for Han Muzi.

Nothing To Give But My Heart Chapter 909

The neighbor assumed that Han Muzi would not defend herself since she always appeared cold and distant, but she had not counted on Han Muzi’s cruel response.

Han Muzi turned around to enter her apartment and left her neighbor alone, standing there at a loss for words.

After the neighbor stood for a while, she felt bored and took the bag of trash downstairs. She saw Ye Moxuan, who leaned against the wall, after making a turn at the stairs. Her eyes lit up instantly and she reached out to greet him.

However, Ye Moxuan ignored her. Just when the woman lost interest and was about to leave, he stopped her. “Madam.”

The neighbor stopped abruptly to turn around and faced him with a sweet smile. This man is truly handsome and rich. He is much better than my boyfriend. I truly regret not wearing something sexier before taking the trash out today. I can also do the same if my neighbor won him over with her figure! In fact, I can even be better than Han Muzi. Hence, the woman quickly wore a shy expression while giving Ye Moxuan a reserved look.

However, Ye Moxuan gave her a cold, eerie and dark look. “If I see you lurking around in the future,” he commented with a smirk while emitting an intimidating aura. “Forget about the slums. I will make sure you would not be able to live in Z City. You should be grateful that I do not hit women, though… I don’t mind making an exception.”

Ye Moxuan enunciated each word slowly when he spoke to her. The initial shy expression vanished from the neighbor’s face and it was replaced by her pale expression. In the end, her lips trembled in fear and she barely uttered a word.

“Get lost,” Ye Moxuan spat in contempt.

The woman was scared out of her wits and she ran down the stairs as fast as she could. However, she tripped on the way down because she wailed in pain, but she got up swiftly and continued to run off.

On the other hand, Han Muzi heard a wail from outside when she opened the drawer and turned around reflexively while blinking a couple of times. However, it was not long before everything returned to silence once again. Is my mind playing tricks on me? However, that seems to be that woman’s voice. Forget it, I already made my stand clear earlier, and whatever happens to her has nothing to do with me.

Han Muzi picked up the framed photograph from the locked drawer. It was a portrait photo of Little Bean and she whispered while gazing at the photograph, “Baby, wait for me. I will bring Daddy home to you.” After that, Han Muzi caressed the framed photograph gently before keeping it in her handbag.

That would be perfect. Han Muzi thought to herself while closing the drawer. However, she felt a sudden, sharp pain from her belly just when she was about to stand up. She was so scared that she did not dare to move an inch, so she sat down on the chair slowly while caressing her belly gently. “Baby, please don’t scare me. It’s the New Year now. Please be good. I don’t want to go back to the hospital again.” Han Muzi caressed her belly while coaxing her unborn child. She was unsure if her unborn baby sensed her thoughts, but that was the best she did under the circumstances.

“Please be obedient. I will rest more once I have sorted some things out. Please, be obedient now…”

Ye Moxuan witnessed that scene just when he arrived at the entrance of her room. The love of his life caressed her belly while coaxing her unborn child. Witnessing her doing this was an exceptionally huge blow to Ye Moxuan. As a man, he should have been happy that his woman fell pregnant. However, as he watched her, there was no excitement whatsoever. On the contrary, he clenched his fists involuntarily and his pupils constricted. The emotions that he deliberately suppressed for the past few days finally bubbled up to the surface. His anger swam forth in him and his blood boiled, as if he was fuelled by nothing but rage. For the first time, Ye Moxuan felt himself blinded by anger and the rage of jealousy had risen to an extreme point.

Han Muzi tried to cajole her unborn baby into settling down when she suddenly felt something amiss after a while and looked up at the entrance of her room. However, it was empty and there was no one at all. Was I imagining things? I felt as if… there was someone at the door just now.

Han Muzi pressed her red lips together while caressing her belly gently. She did not delay any further once the movements in her belly quietened down. After she reassured her baby with her thoughts, she picked up her bag and walked out of the room. Ye Moxuan is still waiting downstairs for me. I wasted more time than expected since I had that encounter with the neighbor just now and there was the unexpected incident with the baby. I’m not even sure how much time has passed, but it might be longer than expected.

After Han Muzi walked out of the room, she froze in her tracks as she prepared to leave because a figure was sitting on the couch in the living room. She stared at the figure for a long time and the color drained from her face. Ye Moxuan… When did he come up? Was he… the one I saw at the entrance of the room earlier?

Han Muzi pressed her pink lips together and she approached him slowly. “Why did you come up all of a sudden? I thought I asked you to wait for me downstairs?”

Ye Moxuan sat on the couch, while his cold and eerie aura shrouded the entire living room. He looked up just as Han Muzi approached him and she gazed into his dark, bottomless eyes.

Han Muzi stopped immediately when she saw the look on his face, lacking the courage to approach him. There is something wrong with Ye Moxuan’s gaze, she thought to herself. It’s best that I keep my distance for now.

Ye Moxuan flashed her a mocking smile when he saw her stopping abruptly. He noticed the expression in her gaze and across her face. “Aren’t you coming over to me?” he asked.

“I…” Han Muzi pursed her lips, unable to answer him or approach him.

Her hesitance caused Ye Moxuan’s aura to turn colder and there was a malicious gleam in his eyes. “Are you scared of me?”

Han Muzi was at a loss for words.

“Why are you scared of me?” Ye Moxuan squinted at her menacingly. He stared earnestly at her face and his gaze swept downward until it settled on her belly. “Are you afraid that I might do something to your child?”

The color disappeared from Han Muzi’s cheeks and lips when she heard that. She instantly became pale to the point where she looked almost translucent. Disbelief danced in her eyes while she stared at Ye Moxuan in shock.

It turns out I was not imagining things. Ye Moxuan was indeed standing at the door earlier. However, why would he react in such a way if he heard what I said? The only possibility is that he learned about my pregnancy from when I was admitted to the hospital. No wonder he has been in such a foul mood recently.

Nevertheless, Han Muzi couldn’t help but ask, “You already knew about this?”

Nothing To Give But My Heart Chapter 910

Han Muzi struggled when she asked that question. Her voice sounded hoarse, as though she had just lost her voice.

Ye Moxuan stared at her pale face and he smirked. “Do I not have the right to know?”

Han Muzi was rendered speechless all of a sudden as she did not know how to explain the situation to Ye Moxuan. A part of her had the nagging feeling that he was aware of the pregnancy, but she still was not mentally prepared to be honest with him.

A trace of disappointment flashed through Ye Moxuan’s eyes when he saw her standing without explaining herself. “Are you planning to keep it from me if I hadn’t asked?” he questioned her coldly.

Han Muzi shook her head. “No…”

“Do I look gullible? Do you take me as a fool?” Ye Moxuan stood up from the couch and his tall built towered over Han Muzi menacingly with his masculine scent wafting toward her.

Han Muzi was slightly afraid when she witnessed his change of behavior and she took a step backward subconsciously. However, Ye Moxuan misinterpreted her action and he assumed that she was afraid of him, which further provoked him. He squinted at her threateningly while approaching her slowly and backed her into a cold, hard wall without anywhere else to run.

“Y-You need to stay calm. I did not lie to you. You… Ah!”

Ye Moxuan grabbed Han Muzi’s wrist aggressively before she finished her sentence. Then, he pinned her arms above her head. “Did you not lie to me? In that case, would you like to explain your unborn baby? Could you have gotten pregnant the night I barely touched you? No wait, you’ve been pregnant for three months!”

Han Muzi was at a loss for words as she thought, It looks like he knows about everything. Not only is he aware that I’m pregnant, he is even aware of the length of my pregnancy. “It seemed like you knew about this ever since I was admitted to the hospital. In that case, why did you—”

“Are you asking me why I haven’t brought it up till now?” Ye Moxuan completed her question for her with a mirthless cackle and Han Muzi’s expression soured when she heard that. It turns out he reads my mind quite well.

Ye Moxuan stared at the beautiful and delicate woman who stood in front of him, thinking, Right now, her eyes are still as clear as crystal without a trace of impurity. She claims that she did not lie to me and she wants me to calm down. However, I can’t help it when I’m reminded of the fact that she is currently pregnant with someone else’s child and that she truly treasures the child. Besides, coupled with the scene of how we met for the very first time and her expression, I feel blinded by the rage of my jealousy and it’s devouring any rationality that I have left. Previously, I told myself that I have to trust her no matter what it was. However, when I saw her tender expression while speaking so lovingly to her unborn child, I have to admit that I’m going insane with jealousy.

“Tell me, who is the baby’s father? Do you have an ulterior motive for approaching me? You told me that you mistook me for someone else when we first met. Do I resemble the child’s father? Am I just a substitute to you?” His voice rose rapidly and he seemed even more furious than before.

Han Muzi felt his grip around her wrist tightening, as if he was about to snap her hand in half. She broke out in cold sweat due to the pain and had no choice but to reassure Ye Moxuan, “Can you please calm down for now?”

Calm down? How can I calm down? I am on the verge of dragging her down to hell with me. He tightened his grip around her wrist with a hostile and resentful gaze. “Spill! Is the bastard the baby of that man you’ve been missing all along?”

Just when Han Muzi no longer bore the pain, she heard a loud, childish but furious voice out of nowhere. “Hey!”

Ye Moxuan still gripped Han Muzi’s wrist when he heard a child’s voice, just as he was losing his mind. He was astounded and he turned around swiftly to the source of the voice. A child stood in front of him.

That face… Ye Moxuan was bewildered and he was rooted to the spot as his mind blanked out.

Little Bean stood still, but he pointed his finger at Ye Moxuan, beckoning and signaling Ye Moxuan to crouch down. The lanky and sturdy man acted as if he was under a spell and bent down in front of Little Bean.

Little Bean judged the distance after Ye Moxuan crouched down, but it seemed insufficient. Hence, Little Bean requested with a smile, “Lower, please.”

The child’s voice was like a spell because Ye Moxuan obeyed quietly and he lowered his head without a second thought.

Little Bean judged the distance in silence and thought, This should be enough. He released his clenched fist and after judging the distance, he immediately smacked the man’s head. Then, he screamed at the top of his childish voice in anger, “Evil daddy! Who are you calling a bastard?!”

Yan and Xiao Su, who both hid behind the door, were shocked into silence when they witnessed this shocking moment.

Han Muzi was surprised when she saw Little Bean too and she thought that she was dreaming. Otherwise, why would the little fellow show up here out of the blue when he’s supposed to be back home in China?

However, she snapped back to reality at the sound of Little Bean smacking Ye Moxuan on his head, which happened after the latter obeyed the child’s instructions by squatting down. She realized that everything she witnessed was happening in reality when she regained her composure. Little Bean? Why is he here?

The slap was not hard by any means, but it was enough to leave Ye Moxuan with a sharp pain on his head. It was only then that he realized that he wasn’t dreaming.

Ye Moxuan looked up slowly and the pain across his head was now more pronounced. After that, he stared at the little fellow in front of him who was a replica of himself.

Who is this? Why does he resemble me? Hang on. Did he call me ‘Daddy’ just now? Ye Moxuan squinted at Little Bean menacingly, and in the next second, he aggressively grabbed Little Bean by his shoulder to closely observe him.

“Ah! Evil daddy, quickly let go of me!” Little Bean yelled in pain since Ye Moxuan had aggressively gripped his shoulder. He started screaming furiously, “Were you grabbing Mommy’s hand the same way earlier? Daddy, you are a bad person! I will tell Mommy not to stay with you! I don’t want you as my daddy anymore!” With that, Little Bean shoved against Ye Moxuan. However, he was a child after all. He might have been smart, but he wasn’t as strong as an adult, especially not someone like Ye Moxuan.

When Ye Moxuan saw the child trying to escape, he immediately tightened his grip on Little Bean and squinted. “What did you say just now? You better clear things up,” he hissed through gritted teeth.

Han Muzi, who was stunned to silence, finally snapped back to her senses. She squatted beside them abruptly while grabbing onto Ye Moxuan’s arm. “Quickly let go of Little Bean. He is just a child. You will hurt him by grabbing him so hard.”

Upon hearing that, Ye Moxuan realized that the little brat had a pained expression. Shock flashed across his eyes and he immediately released his grip.

Little Bean was enraged and he stomped viciously on Ye Moxuan’s foot. “Evil daddy! Useless daddy! Violent daddy!” After that, Little Bean turned around and threw himself into Han Muzi’s arms. “Mommy, Daddy is horrible. Let’s leave him, please?”
