Chapter 221: Disturbed *

After dinner, Rose and Evan walked to the Recovery Room. She wanted to look at her mother again before she slept. It’s been a few hours since her mother’s surgery, but there is no sign that she will wake up. Her father said this is still normal because her mother did a major surgery. She needs more time to wake up.

However, her trauma and fear still haunted her mind because she had lost her mother in her previous life. What if her mother never wakes up? This question tortures her mind, but she tries not to show her worriedness to Evan and her father.

For now, she will try to trust her father and Evan, who always make her feel calm and give her a positive vibe that her mother will wake up soon.

"Hubby..." Rose glanced at Evan, standing beside her. When their eyes met, she continued her sentence. "Is it because... I don’t want to have children now that God punishes me this way, putting my mother in an accident!?" She knows this question is so stupid. But she can’t help but ask her husband.

Evan was surprised to hear her words. What nonsense does she talk about!? How could she possibly relate to this matter?

"Wife! Stop saying those things...." Evan placed his hand on her waist and pulled her close to him as his hand started tickling her waist before he drew closer, his head at her ear. "Wife... can we make love tonight? I miss you...." His seductive words succeed in making Rose forget her worry.

She was speechless. She thought this man would forget about their lovey-dovey moment because they were in a hospital, but she was wrong; he still found a way to make love with her. Gosh!

Rose immediately released his hand to make a slight distance before she saw him in the eyes.

"Mr. Evan Collins, we are in hospital. How could we do that in this place?" She rolls her eyes, trying to ignore his alluring eyes.

A light laugh escaped from Evan’s mouth.

"Who wants to do that here?" Evan took a step closer to her. He slowly raises his hand and touches her chin to make her look up at him, "My pretty and sexy wife, we will do it in our room, of course. Did you forget we can lock our wardroom? No one will bother us till morning. Believe me..."

Rose couldn’t believe what she was hearing. This man was able to dodge her sentences smoothly.

"Let’s go, Wifey! I suddenly want to sleep now. Sleep with you...." Evan chuckled as he walked toward the VIP wardroom. Rose could only take a deep sigh as she followed him back to their room. She knows she can’t refuse him.

"Hubby! You can’t tire me! And we can’t do that on the patient’s bed. Mmm... let’s use the companion room." Rose walks to the bedroom in the VIP wardroom. The room is remarkable for the patient’s companion. The room is decent, like a presidential room in a five-star hotel. The difference is that the space in this room is smaller.

Evan felt happy. Earlier, he just tried his luck, but who knows, his wife agreed. "I promise I will do it fast and will not tire you. Wifey, you take a shower first...."

Rose took almost fifteen minutes in the bathroom but only two minutes for Evan to wash.

"So fast!?" Rose was stunned, looking at Evan, who had left the bathroom using only his black boxer, and he dried his hair with a white towel. He looks so sexy doing that. She silently swallows.

"Why must I stay inside for so long when there is a goddess to look at and touch out here?" Evan said as he threw his towel. Slowly he stepped up to his wife, who was looking at him. The corners of his lips slightly curved when he saw her cheeks were now blushing.

Evan pulled her into his arms. He kissed her neck, inhaling her lovely scent, captivating him. His mind instantly couldn’t contain the needs that welled inside him.

Rose was surprised when Evan carried her and placed her on the bed. She was embarrassed when his hand slowly opened the button of her top pajama as his eyes stared at her eyes. She felt her heart beating fast, trying to avoid his gaze.

"Hubby, I felt cold! The central AC is too cold..." Rose said when Evan success threw her pajamas, and now she only uses her underwear.

"You feel better now, my wife!?" He asks after putting on a soft white blanket.

"Hmm..." Rose can’t string a word, surprised because Evan now starts to lick her neck and down there to her collar bone. She felt her whole body shiver.

"You smell good, Rose...."

Only a soft moan could hear from her mouth as Evan started to massage her breasts. His gentle touch made her whole body stiffen. "Mmm... E-Evan..."

"Do you like it!?" He asks when he rubs her nipple. She can’t answer because she started to get aroused and feel down there... her inner core feels damp.

Instantly Rose felt sorry for the person behind the door because that person will face her husband’s wrath.

Chapter 222: Farewell

Evan couldn’t believe someone knocked on his bedroom door!

The person behind this door dared to disturb them when he was just about to have sex with his wife!? He will make sure to punish this person!

He opened the door with anger gracing his face. But the moment he saw the person standing before him, he felt his body slightly sway. "F-Father...." His awkward voice could describe how embarrassed he was right now.

"Y-You!" Nicholas was shocked when he saw Evan only wearing his boxer. He cleared his throat before continuing his words, "I need to talk to you, both. Now! And, Evan, please wear something appropriate!"

Nicholas shook his head, still shocked by what he saw. He knew what exactly happened behind that door, and that thought made him feel embarrassed. He felt sulk because his daughter is still a little girl in his eyes.

"Why do you look so awful, brother?" Doris was surprised when she saw Nicholas’ sour expression.

"Brother, they are newlyweds! It’s only natural that they sleep at this hour...." Marcel could guess what his best friend was thinking.

Doris chuckled at Marcel Quinn’s words. Now, she understood why Nicholas looked annoyed.

"Brother, why did you invite us here anyways? You should come tomorrow morning before you leave...." Doris said.

"Hahaha, it’s because our brother is impatient. He still misses his daughter... but too bad your son stole her from him." Marcel couldn’t help but tease his friend. Earlier his friend complained constantly because his little daughter was married even though they had just met. He had no chance to live with his daughter and care for her as a father.

"Oh My! Brother, you need to understand that Rose is an adult. She is not a child anymore..." Doris could only shake her head felt amused looking at Nicholas opposite her.

Nicholas didn’t respond to Doris’ words. He knew that. But still, he felt a little bit irked.

While in the bedroom.

"Who?" Rose finally emerged from her hiding spot after ensuring her clothes were neat.

"Your father. He asked us to go out. He wants to tell us something..." Evan said while wearing his shirt.

A feeling of panic appear in Rose’s heart when she heard her father was looking for them. She started to worry that her father had important news to deliver until he came looking for them even though it was almost 11 PM. She really hoped it wasn’t negative news.

"Hubby, hurry..." Rose was already standing near the door, ready to open it. She impatiently waited for her husband to finish putting on his training pants.

When Rose and Evan arrived in the living room, they were both surprised because it wasn’t just Nicholas in the room. However, there was Doris and Marcel Quinn.

Rose glanced at the middle-aged man in a doctor’s robe seat beside her father. This was the first time she saw him.

"Daughter-in-law, sorry to disturb your sleep...." Doris first greeted Rose when she saw the two come out of the bedroom. "Sit here, daughter..." She pulled Rose to sit by her side, only to receive an angry glare from her son. She ignored him and smiled lovingly at Rose.

"It’s okay, mother. We were just about to sleep..." Rose shyly answered while scolding her husband in her heart. Earlier, she was worried about having sex in the hospital, but this man kept pushing her and convincing her that no one would come to find them. But now, her father, mother-in-law, and a doctor are sitting in their room.

She instantly felt a headache.

Nicholas clears his throat as he looks at Evan to get his attention. After he meets Evan’s eyes, he starts saying his purpose for coming here.

"Evan, Daughter, I will return to North City tomorrow morning..."

Rose was stunned hearing that. She frowned, looking at his father.

"Daughter, don’t worry. Even though I’m leaving, I’ll be back as soon as possible. While I’m away, your Uncle Marcel Quinn will be on standby...." Nicholas looks at Marcel Quinn. "Your uncle Marcel is the hospital’s director and the best neurosurgeon. He’ll be in charge while I’m not here. Even though he rarely practices now, he is still the best neurosurgeon in this country, so no need to worry...."

Rose saw the pale fat man sitting beside her father. Though his short hair has turned gray, she believes this man is the same age as her father.

Seeing his daughter nod, Nicholas continued his sentence again, "Father will return here after finishing work in North City. After that, I will take a month off to accompany your mother and have plans to marry her officially...." He said calmly, but everyone in the room was surprised. They didn’t believe Nicholas would make a move so fast.

"I understand, dad. I will stay here to take care of my mom. Please come back soon... and please call me." Rose softly said.

If given a choice, she would definitely choose her father to stay here until her mother wakes up. But how could she do that when she know his father had other responsibilities before he found them!?

"Don’t worry, Rose. Uncle Marcel will take care of your mother until she wakes up..." Marcel Quinn smiled, trying to calm Molly’s daughter. Every time he saw Rose, he was amazed at how similar Rose’s face was to Molly’s when she was young.

"Thank you, sir..."

"Rose, please don’t call me sir. You can call me Uncle. I’m your third uncle...." Marcel smiled.

"I will standby here too, Rose. So nothing will happen to your mother during your father’s absence." Doris stroked the back of Rose’s hand gently.

"I hope before I go, your mother has already woken up. But, if she is still not yet awake, I will come back here before that. Daughter, please don’t stress yourself...." Nicholas can see how devastated his daughter is now.

"And, you also can go back home. No need to stay here. For the time being, your mother will stay in the Recovery Room...." Nicholas then looks at Evan. "Son-in-law, did you have an apartment near this hospital?"

Chapter 223: Despicable Thought

Evan was confused why his father-in-law suddenly asked about the apartment.

"Yes. We have a house at Starlight Apartment, five minutes drive from here." Evan said.

"That’s perfect. You guys don’t need to stay here. This place is not comfortable...." Nicholas wanted to say, not comfortable for a newlywed like them, but he held his words. "But, for tonight, it’s ok to stay here. This is almost midnight. You guys can continue to sleep...."

Evan felt delighted hearing his father-in-law’s words. He wanted to ask his wife to sleep in their apartment because it was close to the hospital, so they could come here anytime if something happened. But he didn’t have the heart to ask her. His wife wanted to accompany her mother even though she was not yet awake.

"Yes, father, we will stay here tonight."

Later...

Nicholas stood from his seat after he saw his daughter yawning a few times and her eyes were slightly red. She looks exhausted. "We should go now. You guys take a rest well...." He said in a hurry as he urged Marcel and Doris to follow him.

When they walk to the Recovery Room, Marcel suddenly recalls Nicholas’ words; he wanted to marry Molly after she awakened.

"Brother Nick, so you already decided to marry Molly?"

"Yes! I have no reason to delay. I’ve been waiting for this moment for more than twenty-three years...." Nicholas stops his step right before the glass window in front of the Recovery Room. His eyes are staring at Molly.

"I already talked to my daughter, and she agreed. Do you want to know what my daughter said?" Nicholas turns his body to look at Marcel.

A faint smile appeared on his face before continuing his words, "Rose said; Her mother was never interested in other men. And when Molly regained her memories about me, she felt a broken heart. I know Molly is also like me, Marcel. That day I wanted to tell her to become my girlfriend, and I was serious about being in a relationship with her; I thought of marrying her...." He pauses for a deep sigh. He felt his heart tighter remembering that day.

"So, I have no more reason to delay our marriage. We are both adults and have a daughter. Besides, the sooner I officially marry her, the more legal Rose’s status will be in the eyes of the law...." Nicholas felt sorry for her daughter growing up without a father figure.

Marcel agrees with his brother’s decision. "That’s great, brother! Hopefully, from now on my sister-in-law will live a happier life. I heard from Doris that Molly had breast cancer surgery a few months ago..."

"I know..." Nicholas knows thru Molly’s medical records. "Marcel, please tell Anthony not to say anything to other people about Molly and Rose, especially to my Father. I will talk to my Father first after returning from North City."

Nicholas will finish his project in a few days and meet his Father after that. He will bring Molly and Rose to meet his Father.

"Don’t worry, brother. I will tell him...."

"Alright! You can go back home now. For tonight, I will stay here." Nicholas patted Marcel’s shoulder lightly before continuing, "Please help take a look at my wife for a while until I return."

Empire club. The hottest place in the capital is where celebrities, influencers, politicians, and moguls in this city hang out and enjoy the night with friends or family. This massive club has a complete entertainment venue: restaurants, bars, karaoke rooms, Spa, and sports facilities. A place where many activities are offered so that this place is never empty. On the table beside him, there’s a bottle of almost empty whiskey. His head hung low, looking down at the empty crystal glass in his hand. He ignored his surroundings. He also doesn’t enjoy the EDM music from downstairs. He was in a daze, thinking about what had happened in the past few days.

Returning from his trip to Europe, he faced a peculiar reality that had left him unable to think straight. Find out that Rose Wilson, who he thought was like his little sister, is now married.

Noah never imagined that Rose would get married so soon at a young age. She is only twenty-two years old. He thought Rose would marry after she was successful in building her business. But apparently, he was wrong.

He shook his head slightly to throw away his despicable thoughts and feelings.

Chapter 224: Late

At the same time, three teenage girls were whispering to each other while their eyes were occasionally stealing glances at Noah Stone.

She actually saw Noah’s manager when they came to this place. She had thought he was alone. But, when she saw Noah sitting alone in the corner, a weird feeling rose in her heart.

Why did Noah Stone come to this pub? Is he in trouble? That’s why he drinks so much liquor!?

"Kei! Let’s go to greet him. Or, shall we accompany him to drink, or at least we ask for a sign or foto?" Annie’s eyes beaming as she looks at Noah.

"Are you crazy?" Keira glares at Annie in disbelief. "How could we do that to our bias? We can’t do that, alright! This is his private time. We can’t disturb him...."

"Gosh, Annie! I can’t believe you were claiming to be a loyal fan! Why are you not aware of this simple rule?" Lisa looked annoyed at Annie.

Annie was speechless. Her two friends are too weird. "Bestie! I can’t believe you both think I’m serious. I was just kidding, alright!" Although she idolizes Noah Stone, she is not as passionate as Keira and Lisa.

They both ignore Annie.

Not long after...

"Look... Look... someone is approaching Noah." Lisa whispered when she saw a man in his middle-forty approaching Noah Stone and sitting on a single sofa opposite him.

"Maybe one of his office staff..." Keira replied. "Shit! Ladies... this is almost eleven. We should go home now. My Father will kill me if he knows I’m still in this place." Even though she is an adult, her parents still consider her a teenager. The gate of her house will be locked before twelve at night. And if she doesn’t return before twelve, her car and credit card will be seized. A punishment she couldn’t accept.

Noah greeted his Father with a slight nod.

His tongue was stiff to say something. Trying to avoid his Father, he turned his head to look at the street below. The rain had stopped, and the roads were starting to look empty. As empty as his feelings right now.

Little did Noah know that his Father also felt the same with him at this moment. Broken heart.

Jamie Stone didn’t say anything to his son. He also ignored his gloomy expression. He filled an empty glass with whiskey and drank it as he followed his son’s gaze to the street outside.

They sat there in silence for quite some time. They were both lost in their own thoughts.

"What happened, father?" Noah asked worriedly. Worried about bad news from the hospital about Rose’s mother.

"Rose’s father returns...." There’s a sadness in his tone.

Jamie Stone can’t forget the moment Rose’s Father introduced himself. He never thought that Rose’s Father was still alive. Molly had said that her husband had died long ago, so he tried to approach her.

He was utterly dumbfounded when he met Molly’s husband; he was Nicholas Spencer, the second son of Edward Spencer, the country’s top military leader.

How could this happen? He wanted to ask the man why he’d let Molly and Rose live alone. But then his heart ached when he realized he had no hope of winning Molly’s heart. He forgot everything he wanted to ask Nicholas and only dragged his feet to go far away from the hospital to calm his raging heart.

"WHAT!?" Noah yells in shock.

Instantly Noah felt sorry for his Father. How could this old man be doomed like him? By the time he realized that he liked Rose, the girl had already become another man’s wife. How pathetic he was right now!

Chapter 225: Soulmate

At the Promise Hospital.

It’s been three nights since her mother underwent major surgery, but there’s still no sign of her waking up. Now her status has changed to a coma patient. It was the first time for Rose to witness her family or a close person in a coma. So far, she only knows through Korean dramas or movies she ever watches about it. Now she feels sympathy for anyone who has any comatose family member.

The last few days, she did read various articles or confessions of people who had been in a coma or even stories of families who had comatose families.

It felt like half of her soul was lost when she read an article about Prince Al-Waleed bin Khalid Al-Saud in Saudi Arabia. The man has been in a coma for a dozen years and has not yet woken up until today.

After reading the news, Rose was so scared.

What if her mother was in a coma for that long?

Just imagining it made her head spin and her breath short.
