Ch. 231..235: Rebirth_ Dancing In My Destiny Chapter 231-235

Chapter 231: Shooting Range (2)

Why do Sam and her husband want her to study the basics first!? It’s troublesome.

What she needs right now is; to endure her anxiety when she holds a gun and hears gunshots. No need to study the types of firearms. She will not be a shooter or go to military school, right? She doesn’t need that basic training.

"Sam, let’s just skip the basic training. I’ve researched weapons that can be used for training, so I know about guns..." Rose has a strong memory. She only needs to read once. Then, all the information about the types of guns for women was stored in her head. She wanted to practice right away.

Sam was stunned hearing her words. He stopped his step and turned to look at her.

"I know you don’t like it, but it’s mandatory. We can’t ignore it, and..." Sam frowned when he saw her raise her hand to stop him from saying any words.

Somehow Sam starts to make Rose pissed off.

"Just give me that fucking Glock or Smith, Sam! I know what I’m doing now. Don’t worry! You just need to show me the first time, and I will follow you on how to use it..." Rose pointed at some weapons she called, then her eyes staring at Sam. She is determined to skip the theory lesson and will try to use it instead.

Sam’s eyes shake when he looks at how angry his lady boss is now. "A-Alright, Lady Boss. Wait here..." He immediately vanished to get her a gun that was suitable for her. After Sam holds the firearm, he leads her to the black metal door in the corner.

Rose was stunned to realize that the door was an elevator. And she was confused as to why there were many numbers on the elevator panel. Even that number goes up till number 10.

Aren’t they in a building with two floors only!?

Rose was even more confused when she saw Sam press the number 5. Before she managed to ask Sam, she felt the elevator going down. After a few seconds, the elevator stopped at the enormous indoor shooting range. The place is quite crowded. There were several men practicing shooting.

Instantly Rose felt her adrenaline rise as she heard gunshots echo throughout the vast and bright room. Her eyes were fixed on several men who were shooting. They look fabulous in their firing position.

She ignores Sam, who now talks to the staff. Her eyes only focus on one of the middle-aged men, his firing position, and how he holds his gun and pulls the trigger. She keeps that in her mind. She also counted how many seconds the man had been shooting since he released the gunlock.

Like a computer, her mind kept the image she saw earlier. She felt weird because, at the same time, she felt her body and mind feel familiar with the scenes. It almost feels like she was an expert in this field.

"Lady Boss, come here..." Rose seemed pulled out from her deep thought, hearing Sam’s voice calling her name.

She saw Sam standing at the far end of the shooting booth. In a hurry, she walked toward him. "Lady Boss! Please don’t shoot yet... You need to wear this...."

Rose immediately put on glasses and earplugs after receiving them from him. Then her eyes fell on the small black gun on the table, the gun looked so pretty. She knows the weapon is a Glock type, maybe Glock 43. The lightest Glock type that is currently available. She read that on Wikipedia last night; This type of weapon is suitable for women and beginners like her.

"I’m done, Sam!" Said Rose was impatient. She can feel Sam seems to be stalling for time. "Can you show me how to handle this gun?"

Although now, in her mind, she clearly remembers the step from her observation looking at the middle-aged man before. And also knows in detail about the gun on the table. Still, for safety, she has to hear a direct explanation from Sam.

This time Rose took Sam’s explanation seriously. Sam teaches her how to load bullets into the magazine and onto the weapon’s magazine’s chamber. Release the safety lock, and see the target. He shares many tips, and Rose keeps all of them in her mind. She also copied Sam on how to do a shooting position along with the way he holds the gun.

"Do you understand!? Please ask me if there is still something you don’t understand..." Sam asked before handing her the gun.

"I understand, Sam..." Her adrenaline slightly rushed when her hand touched the gun. Instantly she forgot the feeling of fear when she heard the sound of gunfire.

"Alright! This weapon already has bullets but still locks. Now, you can try with your fired position that I taught before. You can also try to familiarize yourself with your target. I already set a 5 yards target for you to shoot. Can you spot the bullseye?" Sam slightly nods when he sees her perfect feet and hand position. Lady boss is indeed a fast learner, no wonder Danny and the others call her genius.

Rose followed Sam’s advice. She saw her target ahead. "Yeah, I can see. It looks so clear...."

"Really!?" Rose nods. "Alright, how about this? This is 10 yards."

"Same! I can spot it easily." She said without looking at Sam. She is still in her position to shoot.

"Even though you can see it clearly. But it’s hard to shoot the bullseye...." Sam chuckled. He never heard a beginner can hit the bullseye for their first shot except for Boss Evan.

"Ah! Is that so!?"

Rose is aware because many variables occur when firing; body position and wind could affect the results.

"Are you ready?" asked Sam.

Rose nodded. She had been waiting for this opportunity for a long time. Moreover, being at the shooting range, seeing other people shooting, and hearing gunshots make her even more thrilled.

Chapter 232: Shooting Range (3)

In a one-way glass-walled room behind the firing booth, two men were standing staring at Rose and Sam.

The room looks like a control room with many flat screen monitors showing the firing booth and target.

"Jimmy, who is the girl that Sam Russell brought?" The gray-haired man asked the young man beside him.

"Old Master, sorry. I don’t know her name because Sam didn’t register using the young girl’s name. But using the name of young master Collins."

"Evan?"

"Yes. It seems that the girl is young master Collins’s girlfriend...."

"It’s not! That girl is Evan’s wife."

"What? Master Evan Collins is married?" Jimmy was surprised to hear that. Why is there no information he hears in their circle?

"Yes... yes... Well, I also didn’t know the man was married. I was shocked when I heard the news, just like you..." He still sulks with Collins. How could they have a big party like that without inviting his family!?

"Waah! This huge news, why do they keep it a secret!?" Jimmy shook his head. "I felt pity for Young Master Sean. From what I hear, he does not yet have a girlfriend. Master, can you put him in another division? So he will have a lot of time to find his soulmate?"

"Hmm... that brat. Only focuses on the team until forgetting to find a wife. He would become a single dog forever like his uncle if he didn’t make a move like Evan." The gray-haired man took a deep sigh. He suddenly felt angry, remembering his stubborn son.

Jimmy tightly shut his mouth. He was too reckless to say something like this. He knows Old Master will be annoyed if he remembers his second son, Nicholas Spencer, who is still single. And will probably remain single for the near future.

"Old Master looks like that young girl is gifted. If I’m not mistaken, Sam said it was her first time coming to the shooting range. But judging from her firing position and how she holds her gun, she looks like she’s done it many times."

Old Master Spencer could only agree to what Jimmy said. He was curious to see her shooting result.

"Lady Boss, I will release the lock now. Please be careful! You should pay attention to what I taught you earlier..." Sam unlocked Rose’s gun. Seeing her correct position, he set the target shooting to 10 yards. "You can start shooting now, Lady Boss. I set your target at 10 yards...."

Sam was tense, looking at his Lady Boss holding a gun. He was so worried she would hurt herself. He guards right near her, making sure she is safe.

He would be in trouble if she hurt herself. Boss Evan will definitely skin him alive. Still vivid in his mind, before coming to this place, his Boss had warned him, "Don’t let my wife get hurt, even only the bruises." Boss Evan’s words were imprinted on his mind. He would not let that happen or be sent back to his old division again.

"I think 10 yards is too easy for me, Sam. Make it 25 yards!" Rose said calmly without looking at him. Her eyes stared straight ahead with her hands holding her Glock tightly. She felt this gun lighter than she thought, and her vision felt so clear looking at the target board as if the board was only a few meters in front of her. So closed.

Sam was speechless. Didn’t he hear wrong? Does Lady boss want the furthest distance?

He looked at her with a frown but still did what she asked. He immediately adjusted the target carrier to 25 yards.

"25 yards it is. Done! You may shoot now, Boss!"

’bang’

There is a pause of a few seconds. Then followed the sound of the next gunshot in a row.

’bang’

’bang’

Rose immediately locked the gun after her third shoot. Her hand felt slightly sore, but the adrenaline made her ignore the pain. She glanced at Sam, frozen in his place.

"So? What do you think, Sam?"

She places the gun on the table before her and walks to Sam to check her result. But when she arrived at Sam’s place, the man just stared at the monitor in front of him, ignoring her.

"Sam!?" Rose pats Sam’s shoulder to make him jolt in his place. "How is my result?" She asked again.

"L-Lady Boss... you, you, how could you do that?"

"Do what!?" She frowned, confused by Sam’s expression. He looked shocked.

Sam was lost for words. Can’t string a single word at this moment, too shocked with his Lady Boss firing result.

Countless questions appear in his mind...

How could she be able to hit the bullseye?

This is her first time holding a gun, right?

Is she really a beginner?

Had she deliberately kept a low profile in front of them?

Damn! No wonder earlier, she didn’t want to go through basic training. Turns out she’s an expert.

"Boss! Tell me, have you really... really never used a gun before?" Sam was suspicious of her.

"Hmm... this is my first time." Rose was confused by Sam’s question. She thought her shot must be so bad that Sam looked shocked like this. "Sam, was the result that bad?"

Sam gives her space to check the monitors. "You can see here...."

"I don’t understand how to read this monitor. Is this number 6 good?" Rose pointed to the number six on the monitor next to her target.

"Y-Yes, Lady Boss! But for the first shot, you’ve been able to shoot your enemy in the waist... this is pretty good. What’s more, you shoot at a fairly long distance... 25 yards."

"Hahaha, gosh! I need to work hard, Sam. Though I hit my enemy, those shots can’t kill him, right!?"

Rose was ashamed of being so overconfident to ask for the furthest distance of 25 yards, but her result was this bad.

"What is the meaning of this?" She asked when she saw there were two results on number ten. "This number ten means I didn’t hit the shooting target?"

Sam shook his head. "You hit the bullseye. Twice!"

Chapter 233: Shooting Range (4)

"Hahaha... I know, I know, I’m that bad, right!?" She said while laughing.

Rose’s loud laugh made people look at her with shocked expressions knowing a little girl could shoot with such accuracy. A faint chatter among them makes Rose a little bit confused.

"You lie! She must not be a newbie... How could she hit a bullseye!"

"Yeah, I heard a conversation between Sam and Chief Jimmy...."

"Fuck! This girl is really talented! He beat us...."

"Yeah! I could only hit my bullseye after a month of practice."

"I guess she is in luck!"

"No way! She was hit two times...."

Rose looked at Sam, asking him if what people said was true. Did she hit a bullseye?

"Yeah! They are all right. You hit a bullseye, Lady Boss!"

Didn’t she hear wrong?

Does she really get the perfect score?

No! This dumb Sam must be humoring her, right!? How could she hit the bullseye?

"Are you sure? Was there a fault with the target carrier?"

Sam was speechless hearing her words. How could the target carrier be wrong!?

"No! But you can try again. Maybe it was just a coincidence..." Sam said calmly. He checked her gun for safety and set the new target.

"Yeah! I thought that too. There’s no way I can get this perfect score in my second and third shoot, right?"

She returned to her position to shoot again.

This time, she felt more relaxed than before. A good feeling embraces her mind and heart when her hand tightly grips the gun. She made three shots in a row in utter confidence and without a slight hesitation.

Sam wrapped his arms in front of his chest as his eyes looked straight at the monitor. There is only one hole in the target even though she was shot three times. He felt his knee turn weak when he realized his lady boss was a sharpshooter expert.

How could that be?

He slowly lifts his head, looking at the petite girl walking toward him. He was stunned when he felt something strange in his heart while his cheek turned warm when looking at her bright, small face.

He rarely felt this, only when he saw his martial arts master. He was amazed to realize his feelings; this woman definitely would be his shooter master.

"Sam, how is the result?" Rose stood beside Sam as she tried to peek at the monitor.

He needs a few seconds to pull back from his deep thoughts, "L-lady Boss, no need to see the result. You are a real expert shooter. You hit a bullseye again!"

"W-what!"

A wide smile graced Rose’s face when she saw the monitor.

"So, I really have a talent for shooting?" She murmurs.

Rose was so happy that she finally had the talent. She doesn’t need to do physical training to learn a martial art. She just needed to hone her shooting skills.

"Sam Russel..."

Sam was surprised to hear someone calling his name. He looked back and was surprised to see old master Spencer stood behind them, with Jimmy beside him.

"O-Old Master, Chief Jimmy..." Sam bowed slightly. He is surprised to see these two people in this place, especially Old Master Spencer. It is rare for this old Master to visit this place during working hours like now.

"This Lady..." Old Spencer looked at Rose with admiration-looking eyes. "She looks so talented. I wonder if she is interested in joining us?"

Rose was shocked to see the man in front of her. But she was even more shocked when she realized the resemblance of this man to Sean Spencer and that his eyes were very similar to her father’s.

Her heart suddenly races, aware this man must be Edward Spencer, her grandfather. She listens in silence to his conversation with Sam as she holds herself not to open her identity.

Sam was almost choked hearing Old Master Spencer wanted to recruit Lady Boss to the army. Someone definitely will make havoc if he hears about this.

"O-Old Master, this Lady is Master Evan’s wife. There’s no way she’d join your division..." Sam said politely.

"Hahaha, Sam, this old man is just joking around...." He laughs as he glances at Rose. "So you are Evan’s wife?"

"Yes, sir... I’m. My name is Rose Wilson...." Instantly her throat felt dry. Even when she swallows, her throat hurts. She was nervous talking to this old man before her. Though he is her grandfather, he is also a respected military leader in this country.

"Ms. Rose, I’m Edward Spencer. You can call me Grandpa. I’m Arthur Collins’s best friend. Mmm... you can call me Grandpa Edward, and can I call you by your name too?"

His friendly-sounding voice made Rose a little more comfortable. However, she still felt tense.

"Yes, you can."

Edward Spencer, smiling before continuing his words, "You are very talented at shooting, Rose. Have you practiced before?" He asked curiously. The way she shoots somehow reminds him of someone, his talented student. But it’s a shame his students didn’t like using guns. He stopped learning and doing something he was really passionate about.

What Edward Spencer hears from Jimmy; This is Rose’s first time using a gun. But what he saw earlier surprised him. He was sure that Rose was just being modest, hiding her abilities. She is a talented shooter and has the potential to become a sniper if she gets professional training.

If his granddaughter Keira had abilities like Rose, he would be thrilled. But unfortunately, his one and only granddaughter were not interested in firearms or anything related to the military. Like her aunt, she is more interested in pursuing the fashion and entertainment business.

"I’ve never held a gun before... This is my first time." Rose looked embarrassed by his compliment. "I guess this is just a coincidence...." As a first-timer using a gun, she was also surprised to learn that she had a talent for shooting.

She was happy because this was her last option to master self-defense techniques. Because to become a martial arts expert like her previous dream was arduous. Shooting is more effortless, and she also has a talent.

Chapter 234: Shooting Range (5)

Edward Spencer could tell that Rose was talented just by seeing her once. And, there are no coincidences in shooting practice, especially with a shooting range of 25 yards.

"From what I can see, you are really talented, Rose." Edward Spencer smiled, looking at her beaming eyes. "Do you want to try using other firearms? Like a sniper rifle? We could see if you are talented or that was just beginner’s luck...." He knew right away this girl would buy his offer. This girl was interested in shooting. For sure, he would try to make Rose become his disciple.

Rose was stunned to hear his offers.

Of course, she was fascinated to do so. Using a sniper rifle was something she really wanted to do. She always felt amazed by snipers when she watched Hollywood action movies. And now, an opportunity was knocking on her door. She wasn’t going to miss this one. She will try.

Just before she wanted to say; yes. She hears Sam interrupt,

"Old Master, I’m sorry to tell you, we can’t go to the outdoor practice range. It’s because we have to get back now..." Sam said. But later, he was feeling bad because he could see clearly how disappointed Old Master Spencer was now.

"Old Master, we will come back again the day after..." Sam paused when he saw Lady Boss ask him to stop talking. He was confused, but he tightly shut his mouth, looking at her eyes, and wanted to ask, why?

But sure enough, his lady boss ignored him as she looked at Old Master Spencer.

"Grandpa Spencer, can you lead the way? I have plenty of time. I want to try to use a sniper rifle... It sounds pretty cool." Rose looked at her grandfather with a smile.

Sam was dumbfounded.

How could she agree? Hadn’t she insisted on going back to the hospital because she didn’t want to leave her mother too long?

Sam, looking at Rose, wanted to remind her, but she already followed Old Master Spencer. He could only walk fast to match her step.

The moment he walked beside her, Sam lowered his head and whispered to her, "Lady boss, Uhm, did you say we only have one hour in this place?"

Sam was confused; Why did she change her mind?

Rose did want to go back to the hospital. But, she remembered that her father had just returned. He needed more time to be alone with her mother, right!?

So, she decided to stay here longer. And, of course, she was also curious about her abilities. Is she really good at shooting? Or not? She wanted to know.

"It’s okay, Sam!" Rose smiled to reassure Sam. She steadily followed Grandpa Spencer, who walked in front of her with Jimmy. She just noticed Jimmy as such an attractive man, with a bird’s wing tattooed behind his neck. Plus, his ginger red hair makes him even more noticeable.

"But, you said earlier..." Sam whispers as she follows, walking by his side.

Rose wanted to tell Sam about her father, but she couldn’t because only a few people knew about her relationship with her father. Even Gavin doesn’t know about it.

Meeting her grandfather in this place accidentally amazed her. The exact coincidence was when she first met Sean Spencer and Amanda Spencer. It seems that God has arranged; that she will definitely meet her family in this second chance at life.

Soon they were back upstairs.

There was a large brown door not far from the elevator. When Rose passed the door, She was stunned, looking at a vast outdoor shooting range. And she also saw a few men in army uniform doing shooting practice.

"Sam, does this place belong to the Astington Army?" Rose whispered to Sam. She was curious because she had seen several armies using this facility since then.

"No. This belongs to Spencer. But, top snipers from the military and police in this country usually practice here because Chief Jimmy thought of them. You know, Chief Jimmy is one of Master Spencer’s direct disciples. Not only did the army come to this place, but a few top shooting athletes practiced in this place as well...."

Rose was fascinated looking at the man with the wing tattoo.

"Lady boss, are you sure you can shoot with a sniper rifle?" Sam was worried. Because he knows Lady Boss didn’t like physical exercise. She is weak. How could she carry a sniper rifle?

"I don’t know! But, I want to try...."

"I hope you can carry that sniper rifle. It’s pretty heavy...."

"I know..."

Sam is speechless at how determined she is.

"Do you know who that old man is?" Sam asked.

Rose was stunned to hear his words. Sure, she knows him. That older man is her grandfather. But she remained silent, pretending she didn’t know.

"He is the Old Master Spencer. Have you ever heard about Spencer, right? He is the patriarch of Spencer, the most powerful family in this country. He is Miss Amanda Spencer’s father..." Sam explained.

"Is that so?" Rose feigned interest.

"Yes. God bless you, Lady Boss! When you come to practice here when Old Master is around. He is the best sniper in this country. No one beat his record so far..." Sam looked at Old Master Spencer as if he saw the God of war.

"It’s rare for Old Master Spencer to be interested in teaching other people, and he seems to have an interest in you. Gosh! I’m Feeling Jealous of you, Lady Boss... because the best shooter in this country noticed your talent...." He continues his words.

Rose almost trips when she hears Sam’s words. His high praise for her talent made her want to laugh, but she held it. And, if only Sam knew her relationship with Grandpa Spencer, he would have fainted.

"And you know what? Boss Evan is one of the Old Master Spencer disciples...." There’s a proud feeling in Sam’s voice.

Rose was stunned. She didn’t know Evan was also a talented shooter.

Chapter 235: Apprentice

It wasn’t long before they stopped at the shooting area.

Rose sees two tall, bulky men standing beside the black rectangle table. Her eyes are beaming when she notices a few rifles she is familiar with lying on the table.

"Rose, have you ever used a sniper rifle before?" Edward Spencer glanced at Rose beside him. His curiosity about Rose’s shooting ability grew as soon as they arrived at this outdoor shooting range.

"I’ve never used a firearm."

Seeing the wide smile framing her face as her eyes sparkled at the rifle on the table, Edward Spencer chuckled quietly. This girl looks like a child who is so happy when she meets her favorite toy.

"Interesting! Mmm... Do you want to choose which rifle you will use?" Edward patiently asks her. He really wanted to suggest to her to choose the best rifle that fit her. But, his heart tells him otherwise; He needs to test Rose about her knowledge of rifles, so he remains silent.

"I’ve researched about the types of guns and rifles... before coming to this place." She smiles and glances at her grandfather. She had already memorized all kinds of guns and rifles in her head. "I think I will use this one...." She pointed at rifle M110. This rifle is easier to use and also not too heavy.

What Sam said earlier to her, the stronger her hand supports the weapon, the more precise the shot will be. So she will just choose the easier to handle.

Previously at an indoor range, she successfully hit a bullseye because her weapons were small and light. But, using a weapon as heavy as a semi-automatic sniper rifle M110, she wasn’t sure if she could hit the bullseye or, even worse, hit the target paper. Rose imagines the recoil from such a high-caliber weapon would make hitting the target extremely challenging to a beginner like her.

Edward Spencer was shocked. He was about to suggest Rose use that rifle, but apparently, she already knew what she wanted. Is she really a beginner? And, she really never used a weapon before?

"Rose, may I know why you chose M110?" He asks her as he looks into her eyes. But after a few seconds of staring at her clear hazel eyes, he was stunned. He seemed to see his own eyes in her eyes.

"I like the color... and it looks pretty cool," Rose answered casually.

Edward Spencer almost laughed at her innocent answer. She is indeed a newbie.

"Alright, we will go with the M110, then...." He immediately asked the man in charge to prepare the weapon for Rose, and he talked to Jimmy.

"Lady Boss, are you sure you can hold that M110?" Sam was worried his lady boss would be unable to withstand the rifle’s weight. She looked small and frail. She could be blown away when she pulled the trigger.

"Don’t worry, Sam. We will place the gun on the tripod...." Edward Spencer already stood again beside Rose and Sam.

"In that case, there shouldn’t be any problems." Sam is relieved. "Lady Boss, fighting! Hope you succeed...." He tried to cheer her up. He could see that she looked tense at the moment.

"Rose, don’t worry. My people will arrange a tripod for you. So you just need to shoot. There will be three shooting ranges that you can shoot, 200, 400, and 800 meters. And every distance, you can shoot three times. Don’t be too tense, and just relax. It’s just practice... Even if you don’t hit the target, it’s fine. That’s normal because you’ve never shot with a rifle before. And, you can still practice here whenever you want." Edward Spencer taps Rose’s shoulder gently before he walks to the control room behind the shooting area.

"Lady Boss, let me explain how to handle this M110..." Sam walked over to Rose and explained how to use the rifle.

Meanwhile, Edward Spencer and Jimmy watched Rose and Sam in the control area as they chatted.

"Old Master, are you sure this girl is talented?" Jimmy asks.

Edward Spencer took a deep sigh before answering Jimmy. "My instincts say so. This little girl has a good talent. If she is trained, she can become a better shooter. But, let’s first see the result. If she can hit her target on her first shoot, this girl is definitely talented...."

Edward Spencer was excited to see young people, especially Rose, who has the talent to be a sharpshooter. He hadn’t seen someone like this in a long time. The last person he saw was his grandson, Sean.

However, that kid has not been able to beat his record. So, he wasn’t satisfied with him yet. He is still looking for a talented person who can be taught. And Rose is the person who stole his curiosity. Deep in his heart, he thought of her as a potential disciple.

"Me too! How can someone with no experience holding a gun hit the bullseye?" Jimmy still hadn’t forgotten when he saw Rose shoot accurately earlier.

"Hush..." Edward Spencer gestures to Jimmy to stop talking. "The girl is about to shoot." He said as his eyes fixed on the flat-screen TV with the 200 M, 400 M, and 800 M markings on the right side of where he was standing. He can immediately see whether Rose’s shot misses or hits the target.

It didn’t take long, three shots echoed, and at the same time, Edward Spencer gasped in shock when he saw the TV monitor.

"Why did she only shoot three times? She didn’t try another distance?" Jimmy looked in Rose’s direction. He saw she had taken off her glasses and ear protection.

"You can see the monitor by yourself!" Edward Spencer said, ignoring Jimmy. He walked toward Rose and Sam with her light heart. He finally found his potential apprentice after so many years.

"Rose! There is great marksmanship in you. You hit bullseyes at all distances and with just one shot. Do you have any family who entered the military? You must inherit their talent, right?" Edward Spencer paused for breath. He was too excited. "I felt happy to see you shoot... Well, if you don’t mind, you can come here anytime you want. I will give you free access because you are so talented." He will not recruit her right away, afraid she will run away. He will be familiar with her first and then ask her to become his apprentice.

Rose almost choked when she heard his words.
