Ch. 236..240: Rebirth_ Dancing In My Destiny Chapter 236-240
Chapter 236: A Woman Marksman?
Rose was amused to hear her grandfather’s flattery words. "Yes, I inherited your shooting talent, grandpa...." She wanted to say that, but of course, she restrained herself. They haven’t officially met yet. She will wait until her father arranges their meeting.
"Grandpa, this is just luck. I will train hard so that my shots will be more accurate...."
Jimmy was speechless. Only this time did he hear someone say bullseye was inaccurate. Is she that innocent, or is she just being humble?
Not only Jimmy who felt that way but Sam too. He felt that his lady boss was such an expert in disguise. How could she get a perfect score even though it was her first time using a rifle?
"Hahaha... Rose, if you said bullseye says it’s still not perfect, then I’m lost..." Edward Spencer couldn’t hold his happy feelings talking with this clueless little girl. "Alright, let’s go drink something. This old man is in a good mood. I’ll treat you and Sam...."
Just before Rose wanted to answer him, Sam interrupted, "Lady Boss, there’s a call from the hospital!"
"What!?" Rose was shocked and panicked. She immediately received her cell phone from Sam. Soon, she heard her father’s voice on the other end. After a few seconds of talking, she looks at Grandpa Spencer with her eyes shaking. She was shocked by what her father just said.
"G-Grandpa Spencer, I’m sorry I can’t join you now. I have to go back...." After she bowed slightly, she walked fast to the door with Sam following her.
Rose’s heart was pounding hearing the news about her mother.
Edward Spencer frowned, looking at Rose, who was looking hastily. Too bad the girl had to leave so soon when he still wanted to talk to her.
"Master, are you sure to let her go just like that? She is suitable to become your apprentice..." Jimmy watched Rose and Sam disappear behind the door. His admiration for Rose still lingers in his mind; She was genuinely talented. He can guess his master’s interest in recruiting Rose. It had been a long time since his master had an apprentice.
His last apprentices were Evan Collins and Sean Spencer. Since then, no one had caught his attention until this girl appeared.
Jimmy glanced at his master beside him. He can see his master’s eyes are still looking at the door without saying anything, but he can guess what this old man was thinking. He shut his mouth, just waiting in silence.
After a few minutes, they stood there, and he finally heard his master saying something.
"Jimmy investigated that girl, Rose Wilson. I Have to recruit her...." Even though he knew Rose Wilson was Evan’s wife, he still wanted to know her background.
He has to recruit Rose because she is the person he is looking for. Someone who can make his heart flutter when he sees her hold a gun and rifle. He would recruit that girl no matter what.
*****
When Rose and Sam left the building, they bumped into Sean Spencer, who had just arrived with some of his friends. They look masculine in their army uniform.
Rose was stunned, looking at him. His aura is different from the one she saw last time in the restaurant at Vale City.
No friendly smile framed his face as he got out of the car, and his aura felt cold. But when his cold gaze looked at her, it suddenly vanished. And raise from him, a warm spring smile from his face as he walks fast toward them.
"R-Rose... Sister-In-Law? Why are you here?" Sean Spencer asked as he looked around for Evan. But he didn’t see Evan among them. He only saw Sam standing beside her. "Where’s Evan? Are you alone, Sam?"
Sean was surprised to know Rose visited this place without Evan.
Is she here for shooting practice?
Rose smiles before she answers him, "It’s just the two of us. Me and Sam. Evan is out of town...."
"I see. So, you came here to shoot?"
"Yes! We came to practice shooting." Sam was interrupted after seeing Rose looking restless, wanting to leave this place in a hurry, but she was polite to Sean. "Sorry, but we have to leave this place soon. We have appointments elsewhere. Young master Sean, I will call you later...."
"Oh! Sorry, Sam, Rose, for stalling your time..." Sean made way for Rose and Sam to get to the car. After their vehicle disappeared, he saw one of the men behind him. "Find out where the car went...." He said and entered the building.
Sean Spencer was still curious to know where he had seen a face that looked so much like Rose’s. Since meeting her in Vale city, he hasn’t found a clue to this day. This mystery really gave him a headache.
"You finally arrived!? Why did you take so long?" Edward Spencer scolded his grandson. An hour ago, he asked him to come here immediately, to challenge his grandson against Rose, the girl with incredible marksmanship. He wanted his grandson to know that there was a young girl who could match his shooting talent. But too bad his grandson came so late.
Sean’s mouth twisted hearing his grandfather scold him.
"I’m at the border when you call me. We need more time to fly here. What is it? Why did you suddenly summon me here? Is there an important mission?"
"No! I found the best marksman I have seen in my military life...." Edward smiled when he saw his grandson finally sit straight with his eyes darted at him. "I want you to go against her. I believe she can beat you...."
"Her? A woman marksman?" Sean was shocked to hear that his grandfather had found a female sniper. He became curious to meet the woman. She must be outstanding that Grandpa praised her this much. He has to recruit her. Right now, his team needs a sniper.
"Hmm... she is so young and pretty!"
Sean is even more curious to hear that.
Chapter 237: Rose Wilson Identity
Edward Spencer couldn’t help but smile when he saw his grandson intrigued.
"Grandpa! Are you sure she is talented?" Sean felt delighted when he saw his grandfather nod. "Wow! Fantastic! I have to recruit her to join my team. We are short of snipers at the moment. Please let me meet her...."
Edward Spencer sighed deeply before answering his grandson, "Sorry for saying this, but you can’t recruit her. She’s not interested in joining the army."
Sean was disappointed when he heard that, but he will try to pursue her.
"Grandpa, can you give me her name? Let me call her first. I will try to talk to her. I also want to know how capable she is...." Sean was curious to hear that a young woman could match his shooting talent.
If someone else said it, he wouldn’t believe it. But this must be accurate because his grandpa said to him. Unless this old man is playing a prank on him.
"Brat! I told you before, she’s better than you..."
Sean was taken aback. He still couldn’t believe what he heard. Once again, she tried to read his expression; was he telling the truth or just trying to prank him?
After staring at his grandfather for a while, Sean felt his body stiffen.
He glanced at Uncle Jimmy beside his grandfather. He wanted to ask him, but he found the answer when he saw his expression was the same as his grandfather’s.
As if something had triggered him, he immediately became alert.
Someone better than him... And that person is a girl!? It’s hard to accept this fact.
"Is she better than the second Uncle?"
"Almost the same!"
Sean felt goosebumps.
No wonder his grandfather praised the woman this highly. She has talent like Uncle Nicholas!
If only his uncle continued to practice shooting, maybe now he would be the number one shooter in this country and beating his grandfather’s record. It’s just that his uncle is not interested in becoming a sniper because he prefers medical science.
"Jimmy, tell him..." Edward Spencer asked Jimmy to tell his grandson everything.
Before seeing Rose use a sniper rifle, Edward had already noticed that Rose must be talented. That’s why he called his grandson to come here to meet Rose.
Edward’s instinct is sharp; he became even more convinced that Rose was talented after seeing her shoot with a sniper rifle. With her effortless shot, she hit three bullseyes. How could someone who had never taken a lesson could do that? He was convinced when he heard that Rose just copied what Sam told her and what she saw in the movie.
After some time...
Sean was shocked to hear Jimmy. That girl is indeed talented.
"That’s why I wanted you to see her. So that you can be motivated and practice hard again. You also have potential, but unfortunately, you haven’t been focused lately...." Edward Spencer said after seeing his dull expression like he was in shock.
"Who is her name?" Sean asks.
"Her name is Rose Wilson..." Jimmy said.
Sean frowned.
Did he hear wrong?
Is Rose Wilson a sharpshooter?
Were Grandpa and Jimmy trying to humor him?
He finds it ridiculous and hard to believe.
This definitely wasn’t the Rose Wilson he knew, right? No way that fragile girl could shoot.
"Uncle Jimmy, Grandpa... you guys mean Rose Wilson, Evan’s Wife?"
"Yes, she is..." Edwards Spencer nods. "You know her, right?"
Sean’s mind was distracted by his memories in Vale City. That girl was brilliant, but he didn’t think she had the talent to be a sniper. She even fainted after hearing a gunshot.
Now Uncle Jimmy and His Grandpa said she is a talented shooter?
They must be joking!
"Uncle Jimmy, what date today?" Sean asks. He believes Uncle Jimmy must be pranking him now. Today is April Fool’s day, right!? How could that small and delicate girl hold a sniper rifle? Impossible!
Jimmy and Edward Spencer were confused by Sean’s question. They exchange glances before Jimmy answers Sean.
"July 20. Why do you ask?" Jimmy frowned. Did Young Master Sean lose his mind that he suddenly forgot days?
Sean didn’t reply to Jimmy. He was too shocked to realize what he heard was not a lie. Rose Wilson is indeed a talented marksman, as his grandfather says so.
How could he recruit her? Her husband will definitely forbid her to join the army. Darn it!
But, it’s a shame if someone as talented as she is not invited to join the special forces. What’s more, her talent equals Uncle Nicholas.
Uncle Nicholas!?
Sean immediately stood from his seat. His hand trembled as he remembered where he saw a face that was similar to Rose. "G-Grandpa, I will go now. I have to call someone!"
Rose must be related to the woman in the picture he saw in his uncle Nicholas’s office last year.
After Sean left the room simultaneously, Jimmy’s cell phone vibrated. He suddenly looks, but the moment he reads the text message, his body suddenly turns frosty.
Slowly he lifted his head, looking at his master beside him.
"What is it, Jimmy?" Edward Spencer places his teacup on the table and frowns at Jimmy. "Why do you look like that? Did you see a ghost passing?" Ask Edward, too confused, looking at Jimmy’s face turned pale, and his eyes widened in shock.
"M-Master..." Jimmy’s voice trembled. "Rose Wilson... I... I already found her identity. I know who she is."
"Really! That fast!?" Edward Spencer was surprised. He is really curious to know who Rose Wilson is. Why does she have that talent? He wanted to know who her parents are!? He planned to contact them to recruit her into the army.
"She is..." Jimmy paused, looking for the right words to deliver this shocking news. "Mmm... Rose Wilson is... master Nicholas’s daughter."
Edward Spencer was confused when he heard Jimmy’s words. He didn’t understand, but he was sure Jimmy said about his second son, Nicholas.
"Jimmy, you said Nick has a daughter?"
"Yes, master!"
"WHAT! Don’t say this rubbish! How could he have a daughter when he always has asexual toward women? Hahaha, are you kidding, right?"
"I’m not, master!"
Edward Spencer was silent.
The news he wanted to hear the most in the past few years was that his son Nicholas had married and had a small family.
"Did God finally grant my wish?" Edward talked to himself as he took out his cellphone.
He needs to talk to his son.
Chapter 238: Remains The Same!
Rose can’t think straight along the way to the hospital. She had mixed feelings when she heard her mother show a good signal by moving her finger.
It’s indeed a good sign.
Her father said; Soon, her mother would wake up.
She hoped that would happen because deep down, she was worried. Her heart was not yet calm till she saw with her eyes her mother awake.
For now, she really blamed her curiosity for reading many articles about comatose patients. It makes her paranoid at the thought of the subject. In one article she read; Although there are signs of moving their finger or their eyes there are also patients who remain in a coma and don’t wake up after that.
This worries her to death.
Just thinking her mother would not wake up made her breathless, and her hands felt cold.
Rose gripped her phone tightly, waiting for another good news. But there was no incoming call from her father or the hospital, even when she arrived at the hospital.
Tension began to overwhelm her as soon as she walked into the hospital.
She didn’t say a word until she arrived in front of the VVIP wardroom. She stops her step and looks at Sam,
"Sam, you can rest. I’m not going anywhere..." Rose dismissed Sam because her father was in the room. It was not time for Sam to find out about her true identity, the daughter of Nicholas Spencer.
"Lady Boss, I stay on this floor, the room on the corner." Sam pointed to the room at the end of the corridor. "If you need me, you can contact me anytime..."
Rose nods.
After seeing Sam leave, Rose tried to calm her mind and heart. At this moment, she felt mixed feelings; restless, scared, and happy.
"Mom must be awake!" This is her spell to her mind. She tried to convince herself that way.
Within a second, she slowly opened the door and entered the room. But only to feel her heart slightly turn frosty once again when she saw her father’s back facing her while her mother was still lying motionless on the bed. Her mother’s body still looks the same with all the attached medical devices.
Nothing changed!
Instantly, her heart sank.
Her mother’s condition is still the same. She has not woken up yet. How could she calm her raging heart? How could she calm her noisy mind? She felt lost.
Countless scary questions linger in her mind and assault her head badly; ’Mother will not wake up too soon?’ This is the frightening question that appears on her mind. It makes her sad, worried, and scared.
She needs to express her sadness now! Or she will end up in the Emergency Room because her blood pressure erupts.
Somehow, Rose really hates herself for being too negative thinking at a time like this. When she should have believed that soon her mother would regain her consciousness. But her mind and heart tell her otherwise.
After a deep exhale a few times, Rose decided to return to her room to adjust her feelings. She doesn’t want to be around her mother and father when negative feelings and thoughts linger in her. She didn’t like her current state. Obviously, her parents will feel her negative aura, right!? Her father will be more worried about her.
Suddenly she felt missing her husband so much. At the moment, like this, she really needs him. She wants to hear his calm voice. She wanted to bury herself in his embrace.
"Daughter, you come?" Nicholas was surprised when he saw her daughter in a daze near the door. "Why are you just standing there? Come on in, greet your mother...."
Rose slowly lifted her head when she heard her father’s voice. She adjusted her expression before talking to him, "F-Father...." A forceful smile frames her face the moment her eyes meet his. "I was just about to change before I greeted mom."
"Oh... you’re right. Go change and come here. Father wants to tell you something...." Nicholas deeply sighs when he sees her daughter enter her bedroom.
He felt stressed. Just now, his father and nephew called him. They all know about the existence of his daughter, Rose. And they both insist on being formally introduced to her.
Actually, he was planning to take Rose to meet his father tomorrow. But, since his father knew about her, he had no reason to stall time. The sooner they see each other, the better.
He had already guessed this would happen when he heard his daughter was going to shooting practice. He was sure she would definitely go to the Spencer shooting range. It’s close to this place. And if she went there, it was inevitable that she would bump into his father or nephew because they always appear in that place.
It wasn’t that he was delaying introducing his daughter to his family. But he wanted to wait until Molly woke up. He will bring them to meet his father and tell him he finally found the woman he has liked ever since. The woman he wanted to spend his life with.
"Molly, my dear, please wake up soon. My father already knows about our daughter...." Nicholas exhaled as he sat again on his chair beside Molly’s bed. He gently massages her warm pale hand, trying to make skin-to-skin contact with her. Hoping Molly will feel his warmth.
"I can’t delay any longer. My father will visit us here. I’m sorry because he will see you in this state. But don’t worry, I will bring you to them once you wake up, and we will register our marriage...." Nicholas’ voice sounded like a lament.
Without realizing he felt her eyes blurry as tears began to fall from the corners of his eyes. This is the first time he cried after he found her. These tears could describe how happy he is right now. The little family that had only existed in his dreams will now become a reality.
Chapter 239: I Wish You Here
"Hello, my pretty wife. What are you doing now?"
Rose’s heart raced when she heard Evan’s cheerful voice from the other end.
"I miss you, hubby!"
Evan instantly stood from his seat when he heard her voice low-spirited. Like half of her soul left her. What happened?
Gavin, who sat opposite Evan, was stunned, looking at his boss’ face, becoming worried. He was sure their meeting was over. He quietly left the room, waiting in his room.
"Wife, I know what you felt right now, and I just want you to know I am here. If I can help you in any way, please say so..." Evan wished he could fly to the capital and accompany his wife. He can sense she is sad now.
But why did she suddenly feel sad again? Wasn’t this noon, before she went to the shooting range, she was so excited?! Does shooting put her in a bad mood? Or did something happen to her mother?
Evan wanted to ask her, but he remained silent to give her more time to talk by herself. He waits in silence.
"I wish you here, Evan! I don’t know why, but I feel tired...."
"Did something happen to your mother?" Evan starts to worry. If tomorrow morning he has no schedule to meet someone important in this city, he might be on his plane heading to the capital by now. He can’t stay far from her, even for only one night.
Evan was annoyed that they were thousands of miles apart when Rose needed him. If asked, he would not come to this city. It’s just that his people are so stupid that he has to come here.
"Hmm... My father told me that Mom has started to move her finger. But when I arrive just now, mom is still lying motionless." Rose paused for a breath before continuing her words, "Her condition is still the same as the last time I left. Evan, I felt God was teasing me too much. I... I wanted my mom to wake up soon, but God only gave me empty hope. This is almost a week, and mom is still motionless...."
Evan felt his heart ache to hear her sobbing.
"Now that my father is waiting outside, we will have dinner together. But... I think I can’t face him right now. My heart is aching as well as my mind. It feels frantic. I don’t want to show my sadness in front of my father, let alone stand beside my mother. My current state is really awful, Evan! W-What should I do now? Tell me...huh!?"
Rose slumped onto the bed as she crouched while holding her cell phone tightly. She tried to keep her tears, but right now, she was helpless.
"I understand what you are feeling now, Wife." Evan clenches his hand into a fist, feeling awful. He felt useless. He could not accompany his wife now. "Have you taken a bath?"
Rose was confused by his question. She wiped the tears in her cheeks before answering him, "Not yet... why?"
"How about you take a warm bath now? It will relax your nerves. And, don’t turn off the phone, let me accompany you...." This is the best he could do now.
"Alright..." Rose agreed with her husband’s idea. Maybe bathing in warm water can make her body more relaxed and can make her frantic vanish.
Soon Rose fills the bathtub with warm water and drips it with essential oils. This time she chose the aroma of jasmine to relax her mind and improve her low mood.
"Tell me about your first shooting experience. Is it fun?" Evan was curious. Today he was so busy that he didn’t have time to call her to ask about her shooting activities.
Rose’s mood gradually improved when she told him about her encounter with her grandfather Edward Spencer. And she also told him about her ability to shoot.
"Hubby, you know what... Grandpa wants to recruit me to join the army. What do you think?"
"Really?" Evan calmly asks.
"Yes. I’m a little bit interested in agreeing. Being a female soldier seems fun..." Rose quietly chuckled, thinking of teasing her husband. He must be feeling sulk now, right? A faint smile graces her face.
"Wife, you can try if you want...." Evan said casually. He knows his wife will stop on the first day she enters the army. She can’t stand physical exercise that will drain her energy. And training in the military is much different from what they have ever done before.
"Really? You will agree if I join the army?" Rose was surprised to hear how calm his answer was. "That’s good. It’d be cool if I could get into Brother Sean’s division. I also bumped into him when Sam and I were about to return to the hospital. He came with his team. They are so attractive in their military uniforms..."
Suddenly Evan can’t hold his cool when he hears her bump into Sean at the shooting range. Even though he knew that between Rose and Sean, nothing would happen because they were related by blood. But, still, he felt jealous of him.
What else is hearing about his wife so excited to be in Sean’s division makes him more restless?
"Wifey... Umm... did you forget how hard it was to be a soldier? The physical training is endless. They do that every day, two times a day." Evan smiles when he faintly hears her curse on the other end.
"Well... even if you have something to do with Edward Spencer, Or Sean as your family, they will not interfere with this one. You have to keep doing the training like the others. Ugh! I feel distraught now, wifey... will you endure the pain?"
"Enough! I know... I know... I will never join the army."
Rose pouted. She sighs deeply after realizing she can’t tease her cunning husband. Gosh!
"Hubby... what time will you land here tomorrow?" She misses him so much. It had only been a few hours apart, but her heart felt empty.
Chapter 240: Officially Meet (1)
"Did you miss me?" Evan can’t help but smile.
"Hmm..."
"I will arrive at lunch. How about we have lunch together tomorrow? We haven’t done it lately...." The last few days, they had spent much time in the hospital.
Evan wanted to take his wife to lunch together in a nice place, just the two of them, but time is so luxurious for them now.
"Sounds good."
"Use your best dress. I will pick you up around twelve...." He paused and realized his wife was now staying at the hospital. "Wifey, tomorrow I will send a dress for you."
"Alright, I’ll dress up as pretty as I can. I will make you mesmerized when you look at me, hubby!" Rose felt so happy imagining them having a romantic dinner in a beautiful place.
"Hahaha, no need to dress up, wifey! Your effortless beauty already fascinated me. No need to do anything or I will go crazy when I see you... you can’t handle me if I lose my mind." His heart raced, thinking about making love with her.
If only Rose knew what Evan thinks, she might end this call. But this clueless girl will never know.
"Gee! Hubby... can you stop flattering me with your honey words? I felt drawn in your honey pool, my dear husband...."
"Hahaha... My Dear Wife, I didn’t try to trap you. But I stated the fact here... your beauty always mesmerized me. That’s why I always felt worried about leaving you alone. Worry, someone will snatch you from me. Do you know how many men out there are ready to seduce you? To snatch you? I can’t let them succeed!" Evan pauses for a deep sigh to make Rose speechless.
"Wife, if your mother wakes up and is healthy, you should go with me everywhere I go. I can’t stand to be apart from you..." His sincere tone could make Rose feel shiver all over her body. She wishes that too; Always with him whenever they go.
After soaking in a warm bath and speaking with Evan, Rose felt much better.
She immediately wears her casual home wear; a pink sweatshirt with black leggings. Tonight she had no plans to leave the hospital, and she will sleep after dinner. She felt so tired and just wanted to close her eyes. Hoping this day would pass quickly. She can’t wait to go on a date with her husband tomorrow.
Rose felt a thrill imagining her husband would make a surprise event again as he usually did. That man always amazed her. He was so creative in making surprises for her. All this time, she suspected her husband had a love advisor. So that all of his wonders always succeeded in making her heart melt.
When Rose left the room, she saw her father sitting in the seating room area. She immediately remembered that her father wanted to talk to her about something. While earlier, she spent more than an hour in the bathroom chatting with Evan.
Now, she felt bad for keeping him waiting.
"Father, sorry I forgot everything the moment I soaked in a warm bath..." Rose softly, feeling guilty. She blames this hospital in her heart because they provide a bathtub in the patient companion’s room. It made her soak there until she lost track of time.
Nicholas smiled when he looked at his worried daughter, "It’s alright, daughter. Are you hungry?"
"Hmm... I feel hungry."
"I have ordered our dinner, and it will be served soon." After looking at his daughter sitting in front of him, he continued his words. "We will have dinner with someone..."
Rose was surprised. Who is the guest her father is waiting for? That person must be somebody significant that he allowed him to come here and have dinner with them.
"Is he Uncle Marcel?"
"No. Your Grandpa. He is on the way here...."
Instantly Rose’s heart pounded. This afternoon they just met, and now her grandpa will come here!?
Her Grandpa will be surprised when he sees her, right!?
Rose felt terrible because she didn’t say anything about their relationship in the shooting range even though she knew who he was.
"Dad, I met him at the shooting range..." Rose decides to tell him about her encounter with her grandfather. "I didn’t tell him about our relationship on purpose. Because you haven’t told him yet, and now, I feel bad because I pretend not to know him. Will he be mad at me?"
"Your Grandpa already knows about you...." Nicholas replied calmly.
"H-He knows me? You already told him?"
"After you leave the shooting range, he immediately investigates your background. It’s easy for him to get your identity and our relationship. After he found out you are my daughter, he called me right away." Looking at her surprised expression made him smile.
"Your Grandpa insisted on meeting you and your mother, so I couldn’t delay any longer. I invited him to dinner with us. I hope you don’t mind if he comes here...."
Rose immediately shook her head.
"No, I don’t mind, dad. I’m happy Grandpa knows about me...."
After meeting her Grandpa this noon, she immediately liked him. He was friendly and kind to her even though he didn’t know they were related by blood.
"I hear you are a talented shooter?" Nicholas is still shocked when he hears that.
He felt proud because his daughter inherited his talent; The fruit doesn’t fall far from the tree. His sharpshooting gift is now also inherited by his daughter. It makes him proud as a father, as they have something in common now. Not only do they have the same eyes and hair color but her shooting skill too.
"Dad, I’m not really sure if I’m really talented. But, I hit my target with a perfect score every time I shoot. Grandpa and the others said I’m gifted."
"That’s because you inherited the gift from me."
Rose was stunned to know that.
"And, since you show your skills in front of your grandfather, it triggers him to check your background. He wanted to find your parents to recruit you to make you his disciple."
