Ch. 381..385: Rebirth_ Dancing In My Destiny Chapter 381-385

Chapter 381: Wedding Reception (5)

After Nicholas Spencer, the host of the wedding reception opened the party with his remarks, he did not forget to introduce his daughter to all the invited guests. This was the first time all political leaders, state officials, military officers, and the whole family knew about his little daughter, Rose Spencer.

The guests, who didn’t know about Rose, were shocked. Instantly they were curious to see Nicholas Spencer’s daughter.

Soon, Evan and Rose entered the wedding hall side by side, holding hands. They both look so handsome and beautiful, putting all eyes only on them.

The two walked down the aisle to the mini stage and exchanged vows of love under everyone’s gaze.

While Rose and Evan are at the front to exchange vows, Noah Stone stood in the corner, feeling a surge of emotion from the bottom of his heart. This was the first time he had seen Rose in a wedding dress—she was as beautiful as a goddess who had come down from heaven. Her peerless beauty made his eyes stare at her—but sadly, the man by her side wasn’t him.

His heart, which had just recovered, was suddenly torn apart a second time. Unknowingly, his hands clenched tightly, holding back the pain in his heart. His eyes locked on the woman who smiled beautifully like a spring flower. She’s staring back at the man in front of her.

He couldn’t see it. Too painful.

Noah slowly closed his eyes, trying to clear his raging thoughts. But a second later, a soft voice sounded from his side...

"Brother Noah, why are you standing here?" Keira stood beside Noah and smiled at him. "Let me take you to your seat...." Keira has been assigned to be Noah Stone’s assistant at this party by her aunt Amanda Spencer.

But after watching a live show by Noah—before Rose and Evan showed up—she was so busy talking to her relatives that she forgot about her duties.

As soon as she came to her senses, she was surprised to find the empty chair where Noah was supposed to be sitting.

After searching for some time, she finally found Noah. He is in the back row and alone. Anyone who sees him would guess he is avoiding other guests or people.

Keira felt guilty for neglecting her duty as Noah’s assistant. But, after standing by Noah’s side, a sudden sense of embarrassment clouded her mind. Keira imagined this man, one day becoming her husband—her mother’s shameless grand plan had somehow haunted her mind. It felt like she wanted to run away from this place, hiding from Noah’s gentle gaze.

"It’s more comfortable here," Noah said slowly.

"Brother, we’d better sit there. That’s the chair that’s been prepared for you." Keira pointed to the round table where Rose’s best friend was sitting.

"No need." Noah shook his head. Then he looked at the stage again, his heart bleeding seeing Rose had just finished exchanging vows, and she kissed Evan. Noah wanted to disappear from that place. He couldn’t contain his emotions now.

"Keira..." His voice sounded shaking.

"Yes." Keira, who blushed when she saw Rose and Evan kissing, turned her gaze to Noah. Instantly she was surprised to see Noah’s face turn dark.

"What is it, brother Noah?" Keira asked, worried seeing Noah’s face; he didn’t look fine.

Is he sick?

"Keira, please tell Rose and Ms. Amanda Spencer if I have to leave now. I can’t stay here until this party is over...."

Noah decided to leave this place as soon as possible. He feared that what he held in his heart right now would be revealed if he met Rose. He didn’t want Rose to know how he felt, worried she would avoid him forever.

"Are you feeling okay, brother Noah? You look..."

Noah smiled as he gently patted Keira’s shoulder, "I’m fine. It’s just, I already have another appointment. So, I can’t stay here any longer..."

After saying that, Noah immediately felt something stuck in his chest, and his breath seemed to get shorter. He walked briskly out of the ballroom, carrying his wounded heart away from the place.

The further he went, the pain slowly tormenting him subsided, and his chest felt lighter.

Noah hated himself so much for not being able to control his feelings. Even though he had tried his best to accept that Rose was in the right hands.

But, for some reason, his heart still couldn’t seem to accept that. He knows this doesn’t seem right but can’t do anything about it.

Now, he just needed to disappear from this place, away from the woman he had loved for a while.

Keira stood where she was, looking at Noah, who slowly drifted away until his figure disappeared behind the door.

Soon the party resumed with dancing and lively chatter that could be heard at several tables in the hall.

Rose felt very tired after her friends and family took turns asking her to dance. Now, she sat in her chair and rested her head on Evan’s shoulder.

"Are you tired?" Evan’s soft voice was like medicine to Rose; Instantly, she felt refreshed.

"Hmm... Danny and the others forced me to dance. Geez! When we dance, they complain to me that they don’t have a girlfriend yet. It makes my ears bleed just hearing their outpourings." Rose sighed deeply, "I hope they will find their other half soon..."

Evan was chuckling.

"They also nagged me before about that. Do you have a candidate for them?" Evan holds her hand tightly.

"I don’t have any female friends. There were a few, but they were just friends for study groups, and we weren’t that close. Since graduating from college, I have never had any contact with them. Mmm... I had good friends in middle and high school. But somehow, after graduating high school, my best friend disappeared." Rose sighed deeply, "Right now, I only have male friends..."

"Yeah, I know that...." Evan smiled.

"Hubby..." Rose lifted her head and looked at Evan. "How about you? Did you have any female friends from high school that you could introduce to them?"

Rose knew Evan’s friends from college—he had no female friends, only her. That’s why she only asked about his high school friend.

Evan’s face turned stiff at Rose’s question. As if a rock had hit his calm heart lake, he immediately felt a ripple in his heart. His deep eyes were filled with unclear emotion as he replied, "None!"

Chapter 382: Wedding Reception (6)

Rose didn’t notice the change in Evan’s face.

"Looks like I’ll have to ask Keira to find a girl for Danny and the others. There should be a lot of pretty girls on her campus, right?" Rose was delighted at her brilliant idea. She stood up and looked around to find Keira.

After a while, she found her...

"Keira!? What are you looking for?" Rose was standing behind Keira, looking towards the exit door, "Let’s go to my room...."

Rose was tired, and Evan asked her to rest in their room while he entertained other guests.

"Sis, it’s about Noah’s brother. He just left..." Keira said as she walked with Rose to the main house.

Instantly Rose stopped her steps, looking at Keira. And she asked, "Did Brother Noah go home? Why didn’t he say goodbye to me?" Rose was surprised that Noah had gone home without saying goodbye to her.

Why?

"Well, he left a message for you—Noah said he had something important he couldn’t put off. So he should go there after he’s done singing here..."

Although Rose felt strange about Noah’s sudden departure, she didn’t say anything else. She would call him tomorrow to ask him directly.

"Sis, you look tired. The party is over. You should rest...." Keira was worried seeing Rose’s pale face and usually bright eyes, now slightly dim. "Are you sleepy?"

"Yeah... I’m a little tired because Danny and the others forced me to dance..." Rose lay on the soft bed while Keira sat on the side, watching her worriedly.

Rose suddenly remembered her promise to Danny and the others to arrange a blind date for them.

"Kei, do you have a lot of female friends in college? I need your help to introduce Randy and the others... They’ve been single for too long and complained to me all night; they asked me to arrange a blind date for them. But, you know, I don’t have any female friends. So, now... you’re the only one I can turn to for help."

Keira laughed at her sister Rose’s concern.

"Sis, yes, I have some friends... But I’m not sure if Randy and the others will like them. All my friends are like me. We adore our idol, Noah Stone, and movie stars like Willard Harper...."

Willard Harper? Instantly Rose felt her body stiffen hearing the name.

"Kei, it’s okay. Please arrange a meeting..." Rose had no other choice because she had already promised them.

"Fine... I’ll arrange it." Keira laughed. Then she remembered Rose’s plan to become cupid for her and Oliver. "Sis, what about me? When are you going to help me with my crush?" her cheeks blushed after she asked Rose.

Rose chuckled, seeing Keira. This girl always blushes whenever she talks about Oliver. She was too noticeable—if she couldn’t contain her feelings, everyone would know that she liked Oliver.

After thinking for a while, Rose finally decided to be honest with Keira.

"Kei, actually Oliver..." Rose told Keira about Oliver’s condition, who was hospitalized due to an accident he had a few days ago.

"What!! Sister... Why, why didn’t you tell me earlier? Please tell me the details. I... I want to meet him...." Keira’s face was pale when she found out Oliver was in the hospital.

Rose could only laugh softly when she saw Keira running out of the room, leaving her alone.

"Gosh! Doesn’t she know this is almost midnight? Oliver must be asleep..." Rose muttered. Moments later, she feels sleepy and tries to close her eyes. But before she could sleep, she heard footsteps outside the room, followed by her mother’s voice talking to her mother-in-law.

Rose immediately got up and looked at the door.

Soon her mother, Doris, and Emily entered the room. They brought some dessert and put it on the coffee table.

"Rose, this is your favorite dessert ...." Molly said.

Rose soon joined her mother. Seeing the cheesecake, she immediately became hungry.

"Thank you, mom..." Rose said while enjoying her cake and sipping her cold drink, ignoring those who started chatting. But before she could finish her drink, she almost choked when she heard her mother-in-law ask,

"Rose, when are you going to give us grandchildren?"

For a moment, Rose froze. She could only stare at Doris across from her.

She was at a loss for words whenever this kind of conversation arose. She felt like disappearing from the room.

"Doris, Rose is still young. She and Evan still want to have fun...." Emily said wisely.

Before Rose could say anything, she noticed that her mother took a deep breath and said, "They have decided to postpone having children...." Another sigh followed after she said that.

"Yes, my son is very stubborn..." Doris glanced at Molly. "Sister Molly, I hope they change their minds and give us grandchildren soon."

Just before Rose wanted to answer, Evan entered the room.

"Mother, please stop asking my wife about that..." Evan’s voice was low, but his tone was firm.

Slowly Evan entered the room and sat down next to Rose. After that, Evan looked at Molly and the others before saying,

"Can you all leave us? We should sleep now..."

Everyone was surprised at Evan’s words, but they tried to hide it by only laughing.

"Son, are you going to bed at this time? It’s still too early..." said Doris.

"Yeah, it’s still too early. We still want to talk to Rose," Emily said.

"Mom, don’t you want to have grandchildren soon? How can we have children if you are still here?" Evan looked at his mother without batting his eyelid.

Rose, "...."

Doris and the others immediately stood from their seats and said goodbye to Rose. They immediately disappeared from the room.

"You! Why do you talk like that to your mother?" Rose couldn’t believe her husband had the temper to scold his mother. Gosh!

"What’s wrong? I’m telling the truth. We should work hard to make a baby, right!? Wife, let’s take a shower first, " he said calmly, leading his wife to the bathroom.

Rose was utterly speechless.

Chapter 383: The New Bodyguard is A Foodie

Time flies so fast...

Now December has arrived—A few days before Christmas Eve.

After the wedding reception a few months ago, a lot has happened around Rose. Especially the development of her company, Wilson Group.

Wilson Group started making headlines in Astington’s business news. Many media and other companies are interested in knowing about the new company founded this year.

What they find shocks them all...

Wilson Group is well known as a technology company specializing in the e-commerce and gaming industries—Flash and King Game Company.

Not only is Wilson Group famous in the Technology field, but Wilson Group has also entered the Property sector.

And the most horrendous is W Mining in the city of Vale. This mining company is part of the Wilson Group.

As soon as this news was published, it immediately shook the business world in Astington. Many large companies who want to work together even invest in the Wilson Group, but strangely all offers are rejected by the Wilson Group. This confused all of them, but after some lengthy investigation, what they found surprised them all—the Wilson Group had collaborated with another giant company, Dream Inc.

All the big companies interested in collaboration with the Wilson Group couldn’t do anything about it because they were too late.

Although not directly involved with the company, Rose remains busy at the company. Lately, she’s been coming to the office to help Oliver and the other Director prepare their year-end reports.

Speaking of Oliver, the man has returned to his active role as Wilson Group’s CEO. This past month, he has been busy managing the company while taking revenge against the Hester Group.

Eventually, Oliver, assisted by Rose and Evan, managed to acquire a 60 percent share in the Hester Group through an anonymous company.

Now the CEO of the Hester Group is held by a professional appointed by Oliver. Under the new leadership, the company is undergoing a major reconstruction.

Meanwhile, Oliver’s relationship with his father is now slowly improving. When Earl Hester found out where Oliver was at Promise Hospital, he came there every day to apologize. At the time, Oliver didn’t give his father a chance to meet him. However, after seeing his father’s persistence, Oliver’s frozen heart finally melts—he gives his father one more chance to mend their relationship.

Oliver’s view of his father changes upon learning that his father immediately decides to leave Hester’s group after his accident.

Then the fate of Archy Hester, as Rose and Oliver wanted—that poor fat brat finally disappeared from this country.

According to the news, Archy Hester was sent by Old Hester to another country. Archy Hester’s reputation in this country has been damaged. He wouldn’t be able to return to this country using his name again.

As for Old Hester, he got a stroke. This was likely caused by what happened to the company he was proud of now owned by someone else. The poor old man had no idea that his grandson, whom he had kicked out a few years ago, had become the company’s new owner.

And what makes Rose so happy is...

Oliver and Keira’s relationship begins to develop.

After Rose tells Keira about Oliver’s condition in the hospital, every day, without shame, Keira appears at the hospital to accompany Oliver. And since then, they naturally became close. Oliver’s cold heart for women began to melt—he began to open his heart to Keira.

Meanwhile, Sam. He is still recovering. Even though he could walk, Evan had not permitted him to return to work as Rose’s bodyguard. His position has been replaced by a new bodyguard selected and appointed by Evan.

Rose’s new bodyguard followed her everywhere like a postage stamp—he was always there wherever she was. The new bodyguard’s name is Oscar Jenning, the man who had asked her to bet on marksmanship a few months ago.

When Rose discovered Evan had assigned Oscar Jenning to work for her, she was startled. Seeing Oscar’s tall but slender stature with his innocent face made Rose doubt his strength—he wouldn’t be as strong as Sam, would he? Oscar looks more like a tech nerd than a special force soldier.

But...

Rose tried to believe in Evan’s judgment; her husband wouldn’t let a weakling take care of her, right!?

It had been several weeks since Oscar had followed her everywhere. Two things caught her attention about Oscar. First, this man was always by her side wherever she was—unless she went to the toilet or home. Secondly, who could guess that this skinny man ate a lot? He was a foodie.

Like today...

Rose was busy behind her desk, while Oscar was sitting at the meeting table in her office room, busy behind his laptop—Oscar followed Evan’s instructions to the point, never letting Rose out of sight except for the restroom.

Actually, Rose protested to Evan several times about this tight security. Still, Evan didn’t grant her request, as if he knew something would happen to her.

"Boss... what do you want to eat?" Suddenly Oscar’s voice broke the silence in Rose’s office.

Rose slowly lifted her head to see Oscar Jenning, "Anything!" she answered briefly and then returned to read her document.

"Boss, how about we eat at Brother Aidan’s restaurant?"

"Hmm... you can arrange it!"

Rose answered without lifting her head from her document—it’s the end of the year, and she has to read lots of reports.

In addition to busying herself in the office with paperwork, she also wanted to divert her longing from Evan, who is currently in New York. He had been on a business trip for a few days.

Evan asked Rose to come along to New York, but she decided not to follow him this time. Because Evan’s plans in New York were only for a few days while her office was busy preparing year-end reports.

This year would be the first year since her company was founded and rolling, so Rose wanted to stay at the company to help Oliver and the others.

Chapter 384: This Time She’s Really Jealous

Before long, Rose and Oscar went to Little Heaven. While Oscar was driving, Rose was busy texting Evan.

[Rose] Sleep?

But waiting for a few minutes, there was no answer from Evan.

Even though Rose knew Evan must be asleep by now since it was midnight in New York, somehow, it felt like something was bothering her mind, and she was a little disappointed.

Why didn’t he call?

How busy is he?

Rose is feeling odd. Usually, Evan always calls her all the time, even texting her many times. But today, no calls at all.

Rose leaned her head against the car seat and closed her eyes. But moments later, her phone vibrated.

[Evan] Just about to sleep. Where are you?

[Rose] Heading to brother Aidan’s restaurant with Oscar.

Just then, Rose’s phone rang...

"Hubby!? Y-you, call... You know you don’t need to call. I want you to have enough sleep..." Rose said. She knew that it would usually take a long time once they spoke. Worried that Evan would be tired tomorrow.

"I just wanted to say I can’t go back to Astington tomorrow. I can only come back after Christmas Eve..." Rose was stunned to hear that, but she didn’t say anything. She could only hear Evan sigh as if he didn’t like this change of plans.

"Wife, sorry... I can’t be with you on Christmas night, but I promise I will be with you before New Year’s Eve." Evan continued his words.

Rose was lost for words. She only held her phone tightly—her sadness suddenly engulfed her. And countless questions danced in her mind.

Why did he delay his trip? He was supposed to be back tomorrow but extended a few more days.

Why?

Why!?

Did he extend because of someone?

As a woman, it was clear she had instincts. And for some reason, that instinct made her feel anxious. Moreover, she found Evan’s attitude since leaving for New York a little odd.

This confused her.

"Wife, are you there?"

As someone pulled her out of her mind, Rose softly replied, "Hmm... I heard. Okay...."

That was all Rose could say for now. After the call ended, she closed her eyes, trying to calm her mind, but she couldn’t—she felt an extreme sense of suffocation, as if a huge rock was crushing her chest.

This was the first time she had felt this feeling since her rebirth; jealousy.

Although many memories with Dustin disappeared from her mind, the pain of being betrayed never left her mind and heart—still imprinted. They seemed to be buried in her heart because of the happiness she felt right now with Evan.

But...

The feelings of jealousy from her previous life, when Dustin betrayed her, are now slowly reappearing. The painful memory came knocking at her door, cheated by the man she loves.

Impossible!

There’s no way Evan, who loves her so much, would betray her, right!?

Rose tried to eliminate the negative thoughts. It had started to drown her in negativity and spoil her happiness.

"Boss!"

Rose faintly heard Oscar’s voice calling her name. She immediately looked in the direction of the sound with a shocked face. Now their car was parked in front of the restaurant, and Oscar was opening the car for her.

They have arrived!?

"Huh!? So... we have arrived? Why didn’t you tell me sooner?" Rose immediately got out of the car.

Oscar was speechless, looking at his boss.

Damn it, boss! He could only curse in his mind.

It had been ten minutes since their car had been parked, and his boss had fallen asleep. If it weren’t for him being hungry, he wouldn’t have woken her up.

"Boss, let’s go..."

As usual, Aidan Carter’s restaurant was always quiet, even at lunch. Aidan opened this restaurant not because he wanted to make money but to express his hobby, cooking. That’s why this restaurant never put any advertisements or promotions. There wasn’t even any eye-catching sign in front of the building indicating this place was actually a restaurant.

"Boss, I will greet Bro Aidan in the kitchen. You can go up to the second floor first...."

Rose went up to the second floor. She had been to this place many times and knew that the second floor was reserved only for Evan and his best friend.

The second floor was empty whenever she came here; she never met any other customers.

However...

Before Rose could reach the second floor, she heard a pleasant woman’s voice.

"Sorry, I can’t..." The woman’s voice suddenly made Rose stop in her steps. "I have to fly to New York this afternoon."

Rose’s heart tightened hearing the woman say, New York.

"Yes, Yes... hahaha, I know it, right!! Well... I’ll spend Christmas Eve there with him. He invited me to accompany him to a gala dinner with his business partner. So, I have to fly there..." said the woman happily.

Rose’s mind wondered if this woman knew her husband. But then, she shook her head and continued her step. She could only laugh at her strange thoughts.

How could the man she was referring to be Evan? It’s impossible. Or... is it?

Rose walked and headed to the table she used to eat without looking back at where the woman was sitting. But before she could walk away from the stairs, the woman’s voice sounded again. The woman wasn’t on the phone this time, but she was talking to her. "Miss... sorry, it looks like you are on the wrong floor."

Rose turned to look at the woman, surprised to see Carla Miller standing before her.

Instantly Rose’s eyes flashed in confusion. Why... this beautiful Carla Miller here?

For a moment, Rose was stunned at how beautiful Carla Miller was. She’s even prettier in real life than when she appeared on television and in magazines. This woman was taller than her, her ink-black soft hair hanging down her back, making her tiny face look even brighter. And Carla’s brilliant brown eyes stunned her.

Rose could only stare at her in silence. Unable to say any words—still shocked looking at a movie star in this nearly hidden restaurant.

Chapter 385: Carla Miller

"This floor is not for ordinary visitors but specifically for certain people..." Carla’s smile mesmerized Rose. She felt like she saw a blooming flower before her eyes. So pretty.

Rose knew who this woman was; she was the top movie star in the country, Carla Miller. If Willard Harper is the God of movies in this country, then Carla Miller is the Goddess.

This was the first time Rose had seen Carla Miller in person. The woman was unquestionably beautiful in real life. Even more than in camera. No wonder many big companies in this country compete to make her a brand ambassador. But, a faint glint under Carla’s eyelids made Rose feel uncomfortable looking at her.

Why is Carla Miller here? Does she know Evan and the others?

Slowly restlessness arises in Rose’s heart. Carla’s conversation with someone on the phone flashed through her mind; this woman will leave for New York to keep someone company on Christmas Eve. Who was the man she was referring to? Could it be Evan?

"Sorry, I was telling you. Maybe you didn’t know...." Carla Miller could only smile at the dazed girl staring at her. "Are you okay, miss?" Carla asked again after the girl in front of her didn’t say anything.

Was this girl shocked to see her?

Carla Miller couldn’t help but chuckle. Things like this have often happened. Wherever she goes, there are always fans who are mesmerized when they see her in person. And this girl is one of them.

Knowing the girl in front of her was no less beautiful and looked even younger and cuter, Carla couldn’t help but want to give her an autograph. But, before Carla could give, she saw the girl finally speak...

"Sorry, who are you?" Rose suddenly scolded herself for asking such a question. Of course, she knew this woman. But her mind was in a mess, so what came out of her mouth was the opposite.

Perhaps no one in this country doesn’t reckon Carla Miller, the super gorgeous actress. Rose is no exception. Even though Rose didn’t idolize this actress, she still recognized her face through magazines or the internet.

This time, Carla Miller was stupefied.

It was her first time meeting someone who didn’t recognize her.

Was this girl not an Astington resident?

Knowing someone didn’t recognize her, Carla felt embarrassed—she thought the girl in front of her was one of her fans.

"Oh, you don’t know me? That’s unusual...." Carla looked at the girl in front of her in disbelief.

Rose did not avoid Carla Miller’s eyes but gazed back at her steadily. After a few seconds of silence, she opened her mouth to reply to her, but no word came out as her gaze landed on the man behind Carla Miller, who now approached them.

"Rose!?" Sean Spencer was surprised to see his cousin. "You came for lunch? With whom?" He walked briskly towards Rose past Carla.

Carla was stunned to see Sean knew this girl. Interested.

She took a closer look at Rose, now with more observant eyes. Judging from the clothes and bag she wore—from a well-known brand—she could tell that this girl was no ordinary person.

Carla Miller was suddenly interested in knowing the girl’s identity who could make this ice prince Sean Spencer smile widely. She knew Sean was someone who always kept his distance from women and didn’t have many female friends.

"I came with Oscar..." Rose smiled faintly and accepted Sean’s warm-welcoming hug. "Brother, you..." Rose’s eyes fell on Carla Miller, standing behind Sean, staring at her.

Suddenly aware of the look in Rose’s eyes, Sean says, "Rose, Sorry I forgot to introduce you to a friend of mine. Rose, this is my friend, Carla Miller." Sean then looked at Carla. "Carla, this is Rose Spencer. Yes, the last name Spencer means Rose is not only my friend but also my cousin."

Carla Miller was surprised.

This girl is Spencer!? No wonder she can wear expensive clothes and bags. Instantly Carla was worried that her previous actions offended this girl.

"H-Hi... Hello, I’m Carla. Nice to meet you, Miss Rose Spencer...."

Rose smiled as she accepted Carla’s handshake, "Hello, just call me Rose..." She looked at Sean again, "Brother, let’s grab something to eat, shall we..."

"I’d love to... but we just finished lunch, and I have somewhere to go. Sister, I’ll call you later..." After Sean hugged Rose one more time, he left with Carla following behind.

Rose stood where she was as her eyes watched Sean and Carla leave—somehow, there was a rumble in her heart, knowing that Carla was part of Sean’s circle of friends, meaning she knew Evan.

The man Carla mentioned on the phone was Evan!?

Just thinking about it made her knees feel weak. With difficulty, she made her way to the chair.

"Boss, are you okay?"

Rose nodded quickly, surprised to see Oscar already seated opposite her.

"I called a few times, but you didn’t seem to hear me..." Oscar was worried, looking at Rose. "And, why do you look so pale? Are you feeling unwell?"

"I’m fine, just hungry...."

"Okay, let’s eat. We have to get back to the office, you have a meeting with Oliver..."

Rose didn’t say anything back. When their food came, she hardly enjoyed it. Somehow, every bite was like swallowing a brick—hard and tasteless. This is a very unusual feeling for Rose. The food here always lifted up her mood, except for now.

Didn’t want to make Oscar worry, so she forced herself to eat a few mouthfuls, but the more she forced herself to eat, the more her throat hurt.

Rose put the cutlery on her plate and looked at Oscar, who had just stuffed a piece of meat into his mouth.

"Oscar, are you done?" After she saw Oscar shake his head, Rose continued, "Good! Let’s go home. Cancel my meeting with Oliver. I feel tired and want to sleep...."

What the hell?! Who said I was done? Didn’t I shake my head!?

Lady Boss, please have mercy on me. I’m still starving, and this T-bone steak is too tasty to be eaten only half.

Oscar looked at his half-steak as proof that he had not yet finished eating.

"Please, boss, my steak!?" Oscar looked at Rose pleadingly, trying to ask for time to finish his steak.

But...

Seeing his Lady Boss’ face look intimidating, he could only let out a long sigh. So, he bid farewell to his delicious, mouth-watering, juicy medium-rare steak.

Damn!
