Ch. 61..65: Rebirth_ Dancing In My Destiny Chapter 61-65
Chapter 61: Yes We Are Dating!
"Rose! Tell us... is what Evan said true? I’m afraid he’s just hallucinating...." James’ laughter echoed through the room, making the others look at them, confused.
Rose rolls her eyes, looking at James Stuart’s chubby body shaking as he laughs but only a moment because James abruptly stops. He shut his mouth tightly when Evan’s eyes narrowed, looking at him as if he wanted to slap him with his sharp dagger gaze.
"Yes, we are dating!" Not wanting to make them ask about this, Rose quickly admitted it.
"You guys will get married after we graduate?" Danny Lewis, who sat next to James, chimed in with his curious gaze looking at Rose.
Rose saw her handsome friend in their group, Danny, with a frown. Danny is the heir of the Lewis family, who owns several well-known restaurants in this city. He is quite handsome, has a tall and athletic body, and his tan skin makes him look so manly, unfortunately, he is known as a playboy on campus. He has dated many girls.
"Guys! Don’t ask me but ask him...." Rose looked to Evan for help but looked like he didn’t want to say anything. He just stared at her lovingly while smiling.
She was speechless.
She looked back at her three friends before saying, "Guys! Can we skip talking about me? We are about to have a trial, but you guys just pay attention to me? Gosh!"
Rose tried to distract the three men, but her efforts were vain. They are still waiting for an answer. But luckily, this time they didn’t see her again. They stared at Evan, waiting for an answer.
"We will invite you all if we get married... And you guys should stop talking about this. We need to concentrate. Shall we?" Evan frosty gaze made them all could only nod in unison. They were still in a state of shock after hearing that their friend was getting married so soon.
All the students entered the final exam room until Danny’s turn, followed by Evan, who walked in immediately after Danny finished.
As she watched Evan’s back disappear behind the door, Rose felt her heart tighten. Her turn was getting closer. It felt like she wanted all of this to end soon so her mind could calm down.
While she was trying to calm her restless heart, she heard the three men in front of her talking.
"Danny, congrats, you finally passed with good marks..." James congratulated Danny for completing his test. Rose looked envious to see Danny but still, she congratulated him.
"I can’t wait for my turn! I want this to end soon..." Randy said while patting Danny on the shoulder lightly before he continued, "Congratulations man!"
"Danny, what are your plans after graduation?" Rose is curious to know because she has a plan to recruit her three best friends to work at the company she just built.
But among the three of them, she had some doubts about Danny because he was the son of a famous restaurant owner in this city. He will definitely inherit his family business, right?
Danny was stunned to hear Rose’s question. He looked at her with mixed feelings. He was reluctant to answer her questions because he never intended to work in his family business.
But, his parents asked him to do an internship at the company. He refused and made his father angry with him. He didn’t want to work in a company where his overbearing eldest brother would take the CEO position shortly. Although he is much more intelligent than his brother in terms of capability, he will never become a CEO in his family company because he is only a son of his father’s mistress, which stops him from the CEO position.
Long before graduation, he had a plan to go to the capital. He has already sent several application letters to several large companies in the capital to start his career.
"I will follow Randy to go to the capital... I will stay at his house and look for an opportunity to work at a large company there...." Danny playfully replies to Rose.
"What?" Randy was confused by Danny’s words. "Man! You are richer than me. How can you stay at my place? You’re kidding, right?" Even though his family has a house in the capital. But his home is far from the city and small because his parents are just ordinary civil servants, unlike Danny’s family.
Danny laughs and punches Randy’s shoulder hard. Make Randy scream while glaring at Danny.
"Damn it, Danny! Can you not use your power when you punch me?"
"Randy... you need to train your weak body. Your body needs muscle. You look thinner by day. Likewise, your face is getting paler... People will think that you are a vampire...." Danny deliberately diverts the conversation because he doesn’t want to discuss his family. After all, it was his father who was rich, not him.
Danny’s words only made Randy even more annoyed. How can this man talk about his body? He said his body needs muscle? What the hell!?
Too lazy to talk to Danny, Randy ignores him while looking at Rose. Now Rose also disregards Danny by starting talking to James.
Danny’s face formed a relieved smile as his friends ignored him.
"How about you, James? What is your plan after graduation?" Rose knew James came from a family of educators. His father was a principal at one of the high schools in this city, while his mother was a teacher at an elementary school.
Rose is curious about James’ plan.
Will he become a teacher like his parents? Or continue his business talent?
James is one of her friends who has a talent for reading the stock market accurately. He is good at analyzing things precisely. She really needs his ability to work at her new company.
"I still don’t know. But it seems I will continue to make money in the stock market, even though my capital is not as large as you guys. However, I made enough money to support my life while looking for opportunities to work at an investment company..." James replies to Rose sincerely.
Chapter 62: My Company
"How about going to the capital, like us?" If James agreed, the five of them would stay in touch at the capital. And her plan to recruit them is getting closed. She knew very well the three of them were very loyal to her.
Although she rarely met them again after graduation in her previous life, they kept in touch through their genius group chats and on the phone.
Rose wants to recruit them and grow her business together.
Of these three friends, Rose most wanted to invite Randy to work in her company because his management skill is superb. Randy became COO of a big company, Dream Inc, in her previous life.
"WOW! Are you also going to the capital Rose?" James was surprised to hear that.
"Of course, he’s going to the capital! Didn’t you hear what Evan said? They will get married after graduation...." Danny chuckled in reply to James’ question.
"Well, guys, it’s true I will also move to the capital. I have a plan to establish my own company...."
Everyone looks at her with shocked-looking eyes. They never imagined Rose would go into the business sector. Because the last time they met her, she was too focused on pursuing her singing career. She is never interested in studying or even developing a business.
Why did she suddenly change now? She’s surely kidding, right?
"Guys, why are you guys looking at me like that? As if I wasn’t serious?" Rose laughed slightly. "I’m serious! And I happen to need smart people like you guys. If you are interested, you can apply to my new company...."
"For real, Rose?" Danny asks her in disbelief.
"Of Course I’m serious!!" Rose answered Danny.
"What is your company name?"
"What business are you doing?"
"Since when have you owned this business?"
Rose’s head suddenly felt spinning hearing their question.
She has not yet decided what her company name is. She doesn’t even have an office. What’s more, she hasn’t registered her company yet.
Gosh!
She had a lot of work to finish soon. And right now, she doesn’t know how to answer them. She was utterly speechless.
Fortunately, Evan came out of the exam room at the same time.
Rose smiled widely, looking at her God-of-Help finally appearing. She stood up and walked to him.
Evan, how is it?"
"As you predicted...." Evan slightly smiles, looking at his girl.
"Indeed, you are the genius among us, Evan. Congrats..." She sincerely congratulated him.
"Thanks, Rose. Looks like it’s your turn. Don’t be nervous. You can definitely crush all the professors inside. I will wait for you here..." Rose felt tense when she heard her name being called by the officers, but hearing Evan’s words calmed her down. She nodded at Leon.
She will definitely give her best to charm all the professors. She is the best among the students in her class. She only always loses to one person, her boyfriend, Evan. With steady and confident steps, she walked to the exam room.
*****
It’s been a week since Rose’s thesis trial was over. She graduated with satisfactory grades, placing second as the best student in her class. She couldn’t complain about it. She knew her man, Evan, would always be number one in their class. All her three friends also graduated with the best grades. They are placed in the top 10.
Rose’s mother has been discharged from the hospital and is now recovering at home. Her mother’s condition also improved a lot now. She was able to do light activities. However, Rose still forbade her mother to do heavy work.
Rose also paid a maid to clean their house and cook for them. This maid will accompany her mother when she moves to the capital.
In a few days, Rose is focusing on the stock market. She needed a lot of money to quickly complete purchasing Flash. The money Rose invested in the stock market has started to grow. Some of the shares she bought already give her a good return of up to 100% of her investment value.
She still clearly remembers in her previous life what companies could provide so much return for her in a short time. She buys their shares.
The money that Evan saved for her in her stock account, $5 million, has given her a gain of 75%.
Now Rose is sitting at her study desk.
Her eyes did not take off her laptop screen and computer desktop in front of her. While her hands quickly wrote notes on the table. She is waiting for an opportunity to gain a massive profit from the money that her mother gave her, $2 million. For almost three weeks she invested that money to buy shares at a startup company. Her floating yield now hit up to 500%.
Today, she intends to sell the shares because this stock will fall for days in the next few days. When this incident happened in her previous life, many novice traders fell into poverty. Because they had invested and hoped the stock could still rise again, but it didn’t.
While Sam is currently taking care of the transition process for Flash. If all the documents are finished, she should pay $10 million to Steve Adkins. She will use her profit from selling her stocks to pay Steve Adkins, and Flash will be hers.
She was grateful because now, Flash company valuations are cheap because they have no assets. Luckily Flash doesn’t have any debt, so she doesn’t have to worry about finding more funds to pay off the debt.
For $10 million, she already got brilliant programs and ideas from Steve Adkins. According to Evan, $10 million is already enormous for a relatively small company with an uncertain future. Only because she knew what would happen to the Flash, she didn’t think about bidding any lower and agreed to Steve’s offer.
After a few moments of staring at her monitors...
Rose’s smile grew wider as the price she offered to sell her stocks was hit.
"YES!!!" She screams while standing from her chair. She jumped high, celebrating her success. She was too happy to see her money had now increased by $10 million. She will use this money to pay Steve in a few days.
Chapter 63: Forget
But she couldn’t relax yet. Because she still needs a lot of money to inject funds into Flash for development.
She also needs a minimum of $25 million to buy Rapid Realty in Vale City. She had to buy this company to get a piece of land that contained gold. If she is successful, then the gold mine will become her cash cow in the future. If she is not wrong in her prediction, the government will sell the company cheaply two months from now. She still had time to raise money in the stock market until then.
Shortly after...
Suddenly Rose heard her mother’s voice calling her outside. She opened the door immediately.
"Someone is looking for you...." Molly was surprised when she saw her daughter still wearing her pajamas and her hair so messy. "Why are you idle? It’s almost lunchtime, but you still look like this? If my son-in-law sees you like now, he might run away...."
Rose speechless. She ignores her mother and asks her instead.
"Who’s looking for me, mom?" Rose was confused. It can’t be Evan, right? Because it’s been a few days since Evan returned to the capital. He was busy taking care of her apartment and office, which she would live in after moving there.
Actually, she wanted to find an office herself, but Evan offered to help her. Since she couldn’t leave her mother yet, she agreed to Evan’s offer. She entrusted Evan to find an office not far from her apartment at a price that suited her budget.
"Sam! Don’t you have an appointment with him? How could you forget? Oh, Lord... My daughter is still young like this, but she has forgotten...." Molly murmurs while leaving her daughter.
Rose slapped her forehead. She ran to the bathroom and took a quick shower. Today she was going out with Sam, they will visit her childhood friend, Oliver Hester.
How could she completely forget that she had to meet Oliver today? She really needs Oliver’s ability to help her grow her company. Oliver was a very precious person to her.
She disappoints Oliver too often in her past life, but Oliver always sticks with her. In this life, she will never make any mistakes again.
"Sam, sorry to keep you waiting. I completely forgot that we have to go to Riverside today...." Rose appeared in the living room. She was ready to go.
"Lady boss... it’s okay. We still have plenty of time." Sam immediately took Rose’s computer bag and went down to the parking lot to prepare the car.
Rose said goodbye to her mother and made sure the maid took care of all of her mother’s needs. She is a bit worried about going out because today was the first time she had left her mother after her mother returned from the hospital. She wanted to make sure her mother was safe.
"Dr. Rose! Hurry up and go... I will be fine." Molly pushed her daughter out of the house. This girl is more and more like a doctor. No. She surpassed the doctors and nurses who treated her.
"Alright... Alright... don’t push me, mom! You will harm your chest if you use your power...." Rose walks fast, afraid her mother will hurt herself. Molly could only take a deep sigh looking at her little girl out of the house.
When Rose arrived at the parking lot, she was stunned.
She saw Sam standing beside a new black Mercedes SUV. She thought Sam would be driving her mother’s old sedan. Or Evan’s white sedan they used to use. Since when did she have this luxury car?
"Lady boss..." Sam opened the back row door for her. But Rose just stood there watching the car. She could recognize this was the latest version of the SUV released by Mercedes. This car’s price really hurt the wallet.
"Sam, I never saw you use this car. Whose car is this?" Rose glanced at Sam.
"This is a new car that Boss Evan has prepared for you to use. This car will also be sent to the capital once you move there..." Sam was surprised to hear Lady Boss’s question. He thought she already knew about this car, and apparently, Boss had not told her.
Rose was speechless.
"We should move now, or we will be late in arriving at our destination...." He continued his words.
Rose immediately got into the vehicle. She could smell the factory scent as she sat in the back row. Curious to know about this car, she took her cell phone and sent a text to Evan.
Why is he wasting money just to buy a new car for her?
Not long after, her cell phone rang. Evan’s name appeared on the cellphone screen, making her smile happily.
"Evan, did you buy a car for me?" She wanted to ask that, but she restrained herself. Afraid she’s overthinking that the car is for her.
"Where are you now, Rose? Still at home?" Rose heard Evan’s voice sound cheerful over there. She could also hear that he was currently inside the room.
"I’m in the car with Sam. Today I’m going to meet someone in the River Side district... I already told you before, right?"
"Hmm... I remember. Call me again if you finish your meeting. And, Rose, I plan to return to East City tonight, and I will come to your house if I arrive early...."
"Really!?"
"Hmm... I miss you terribly, Rose! Not seeing each other for a few days makes me like a zombie here. Can you move here sooner? So that we are always together, not long-distance, like now?" His voice sounded miserable. Only a few days apart from her, he already felt miserable. It felt like he wanted to fly to East City to see her whenever he missed her.
"Hahaha, I never expected you to feel like this, Evan..." Rose could only laugh. It was funny hearing Evan’s words. She thought Evan was more robust during their first long-distance relationship, but apparently, she was wrong.
Chapter 64: Childhood Friend
"I can’t hold myself anymore... I miss you terribly, Rose!" Evan said softly.
His mind betrays him. Every minute Rose’s image always appears in his mind. Not only his mind, but he can feel like his heart also torture him. He wants to go back to East city and meet her. But again, he remembered Rose once said to him to settle everything in the capital before he could come back to East city.
Actually, he wanted to go back and forth between East and the capital because he only needed 45 minutes using a helicopter. Still, Rose forbade him to do so because his girl was too worried that he would be exhausted and just wasting money.
"All your business done there?"
"Yes! Your apartment is now clean and ready. You can move in anytime. Also, your office is ready to use. As for your company, the registry is also finished once you sign the paper... I will tell you the details when we meet." Evan could have asked Marvin to do all of this. However, he wanted to make sure everything was perfect. So that his girl can move comfortably.
Rose feels grateful that Evan is considerate of taking care of everything for her. She wanted so badly to help him, but she couldn’t leave her mother right now. She needed another week to train a new maid and ensure her mother’s condition improved.
"Thank you, Evan... it feels like a ’Thank You’ is not enough to repay all your kindness," Rose muttered, but Evan could hear her clearly. She continued, "Evan, please, don’t treat me like this... It’s getting harder for me to leave you if you’re too nice to me like this."
Rose felt her eyes warm and blurry. Evan really touches her heart now. "I will fulfill whatever you wish if we meet later, Evan..." She casually said that.
"Don’t think that, Rose!" He said firmly, but later, he paused hearing her last sentence. She wanted him to make a wish?
A playful smile instantly appeared on Evan’s face as he stood from his chair and walked near the window, looking at the scenery from his apartment.
"I’ll say my wish when we meet. You better grant my wish, Rose!" Evan felt joy as he continued his words.
For a moment, Rose stared at the black screen of her cellphone. She immediately regretted saying those words. She had a bad feeling she was about to fall into her own trap when she heard Evan excitedly shout on the other end.
"Gosh! What have I done?" Rose murmurs silently. She hopes Evan will never ask anything weird, such as us signing their wedding registry! Evan had been talking about it lately. And several times, she was almost tricked into his trap.
She didn’t want to marry Evan yet, not because she didn’t like him. But, she still has not met his family. What if they do not accept her? She knew Evan was the only son of the powerful Collins Group.
His family is so wealthy but never wants to be exposed in public. Their private lives never appear in the media. Even in her previous life, she only knew from business news that Evan Collins was the heir of the Collins group. Still, his picture that appears in the media is only an old picture. Only those who knew him closely would see that he was that person, the heirs of Collins Group.
"Lady Boss... we have arrived." Rose looked out the window. She was surprised because the car was parked right in front of the new stylish two-story building with a massive sign on top of the main entrance written in the gold font; King Game Center.
A faint smile frames Rose’s face. She immediately got out of the car and walked into the building. At the same time, Sam followed behind her.
"You finally come, young lady!" A playful voice could be heard. Rose looked in the voice direction and saw Oliver Hester, her best friend sitting on the sofa in the lobby corner. He looks so thin with his weird shoulder-length black hair.
She couldn’t help but smile happily at the man she hadn’t seen in a long time. Quickly she walked toward him and stopped just a few steps near him.
"Oliver! Why do you look so pale? I can’t even tell you apart from the wall behind you!?" Rose playfully teases him while stepping forward and makes a fist bump with him.
"Damn it! This is all because of you...." Oliver gestures to his best friend to sit.
"W-Why because of me?" Rose sat next to him while raising her brow. Confused.
"You always said you would visit me, but you never appear. Feeling betrayed, I just bury myself in this building waiting for you...."
Rose rolls her eyes. This man always talks nonsense. She took a glance across from where they were sitting. She saw that all the computer desks were full. There are about 50 computers on the floor. She feels proud looking at how successful her friend’s business is.
"How is your business? This place is quite successful... you fulfill your dream now, become a rich man, huh!?"
Oliver deeply exhales when he hears Rose’s words. How could she say he had succeeded when he had no time to play? Now, he only focused on taking care of his own game center. And until now, his dream of making King Game Centers open everywhere in the country seems gone.
He was already exhausted, only managing four branches, which made him have to postpone expanding his company. Still, now he is bored because his business is running in place. And he felt no longer challenged to continue this business.
Can he be considered a success? No. He felt that he had not succeeded. There was something empty in his heart.
Is he supposed to be rich? Yes. He has a lot of money. But having a lot of money can not buy the happiness he wants.
"Well, as you can see...." Oliver could only chuckle. Then, he remembered Dustin, their friend, Rose’s crush.
"Rose, congrats... you are finally free from him!"
"What do you mean?" Rose was confused.
"You finally awake. Dustin is not the right man for you...." Instantly Rose’s face turns frosty hearing that asshole’s name.
Chapter 65: Honestly, Tell Me Your Purpose?
What Oliver said is true. That asshole is not the right man for her. She is really grateful that God gave her a second chance. So she can correct her mistakes.
"You too stupid to have a crush on someone like him...." Oliver knew very well who Dustin really was. He tried his best to make Rose well aware of it, but this girl always ignored him. She never takes his advice too seriously. Sometimes she even branded him as a busy buddy.
"Oliver! Can you not talk about him anymore? I know I was wrong, alright!"
Rose felt gloomy instantly because she didn’t want to talk about it. But Oliver brought this chat again. Her wound that had started to dry up was now open again. It feels hurt like someone spilled salt on her injury. The pain is unbearable.
But apparently, Oliver ignored her words. He kept on talking about that asshole. She could only sigh deeply.
"I heard he’s in prison now... didn’t you know that?"
Rose slowly turns her gaze to look at Oliver. She knows it. But, to this day, she is still not convinced by the accusation that Dustin is a drug dealer. She had asked Evan about this. But Evan replied he didn’t know either.
"Oliver, I know... But, did you know why he was arrested?" She asked him instead. Maybe he knows the reason.
"I know! It had something to do with drugs."
"Well, I heard that too..." Rose turns her eyes, looking outside through the big glass window.
Her mind remembers when Dustin’s mother came to see her. Since then, that woman never again appeared in front of her. She was grateful for that because now her mother was back at home. She didn’t want her mother to know about the incident, Dustin nearly raped her. If her mother found out, she would definitely be devastated and sad.
"But Oliver, I’m not sure if he’s really a user or drug dealer...." Rose’s curiosity appeared.
She wanted to know if Dustin had been lying to her all along? She was sure Oliver would know Dustin’s nature because they used to be best friends when they were still in high school.
"Would you believe me if I said he was indeed a drug dealer?"
"WHAT!" Rose was shocked to hear Oliver’s words. "You talk nonsense, Oliver!"
"Nonsense? I don’t think so. Did you remember the moment I cut a tie with him?"
"Yeah... I do remember now." In their sophomore year at University B, Dustin and Oliver had a big fight, so Oliver decided to stay away from them.
Oliver forced her to stay away from Dustin, but she did not follow Oliver’s advice. On the contrary, she got even closer to Dustin. At the time, she was too stupid, too blinded by love.
Oliver smiles bitterly.
"That time, I caught him using the drug, and I found out that he started selling drugs to our classmates in his first year of college. The scumbag even offered it to me for free..."
Rose was speechless.
She didn’t know if Dustin was like this in her previous life. Or was it just in her current life that his path changed!? She was perplexed and so scared to think about it. She was afraid that the future in her present life would also change drastically.
Oliver suddenly claps his hand. "Alright! Let’s not talk about him anymore. Let him rotten in prison. Ah, I hope you will never be involved with him again, Rose. His connection is so dark, I’m afraid you’ll be dragged too!"
"I know..."
"And you must stick with Evan. He is perfect for you. He could protect you...." Oliver’s meaningful smile makes Rose surprised.
Did he know about Evan’s true identity? Rose wonders.
"So why did our lady Rose come to my humble place now?" Oliver continued his words.
Rose looked at Sam, still standing near the entrance. She also saw several game center visitors passing by in the lounge, which looked crowded that afternoon.
"I need to talk to you seriously. Do you want to talk here or somewhere quieter?" Rose looks at Oliver again.
"Follow me!"
Oliver stood up and walked to the stairs. Rose follows him while giving Sam a gesture to follow them.
"Who is that fellow who follows you?" Oliver saw a tall and athletic man following Rose ever since. "Your bodyguard?"
"My assistant."
"WHAT!? Now you have an assistant? Are you a CEO or a Director in a large company? Why do you need an assistant?" Oliver’s voice echoed through the second floor, making a few people on the second floor look at them.
"Can you lower your voice?" Rose glared at him. "Where is your office?"
Oliver chuckled and led them to another stair.
"Huh!? Did I see only two floors earlier? Is there a third floor?"
"Half! I live above...."
Later they arrived on the third floor, a rooftop studio-like house.
Rose saw an open space area with a navy blue three-seater sofa complete with a coffee table in front of it. There is a super-sophisticated computer room in the glass room. And there are two doors at the end of the room. She could guess it must be the bathroom and Oliver’s bedroom.
"Let’s talk over there...." Oliver opens a glass window and leads them to the rooftop garden. They both sat on the garden chair while Sam waited for them in the house.
"This place is beautiful, Oliver. No wonder you never left this building..." Rose saw a neatly arranged Japanese garden around them. Then she was fascinated to see the sky that looked so blue and clear.
Oliver looked at his childhood friend, Rose, sitting next to him and enjoying the sky.
"Tell me, honestly, what is the purpose of your visit today? I don’t think you came here just to enjoy my garden. Am I right?" Oliver asked with a slight smile frame on his face.
Rose laughs slightly.
"Alright. You got me. I want to offer you something that can make your boring life more colorful..."
