Ch. 1631..1640
The Girlboss Begs For Remarriage Chapter 1631-The Yimmels traveled from Riverton to Zamri fashionably, with a procession of over twenty cars bearing their family crest.
It was an ostentatious sight, drawing the states of many pedestrians.
A few of them recognized the family crest and were left wondering why they would suddenly show up in Zamri.
Were they extending their influence here to Zamri? That did not make sense, considering the distance between Bralog and Riverton. While it was not particularly far, it was not exactly close either, with the state of Norsedam sitting between them.
If the Yimmels were expanding their influence, they should start by heading to the closer city, Norsedam. Why start with Zamri?
While the pedestrians were busy pointing and gesturing and speculating at the grand procession, Yora Yimmel was laughing smugly, as she sat in the Lincoln limousine in the middle.
After all, she had done her homework.
The Three Bears of Zamri had previously kept the city beyond the reach of outside influence, but they had each fallen off for some reason.
While Yora suspected Frank's involvement, which explained how Lanecorp developed rapidly, the fruits of their successes were ripe for Yora's taking.
How could she call herself Yora Yimmel if she did not take them?
Yora was pleased to see the civilians of Zamri staring at her family's procession too.
They would soon become citizens of her territory-pawns who contributed their strength for the Yimmel's prosperity.
Naturally, she was not about to be blinded by the prospect of victory just yet.
Turning toward Mr. Noon, the martial artist with a split mustache, she asked respectfully, "Are you confident about defeating Frank Lawrence?"
Hearing her ask the same question once more, Mr. Noon rubbed his chin and smiled. "The sole heir to the Lord of the Southern Woods is strong, reaching Birthright ranka time. I can't really say, but should be in the Ascendant rank now." no Yora frowned at Mr. Noon's insight-that was not what she wanted to hear, as she only wanted to know if he could stop Frank.
Seemingly reading her thoughts, Mr. Noon smiled. "Don't worry, ma'am. What I'm saying is that he's too important to kill, but he doesn't get to strut when I'm around."
Then, his tone turned cool.
"Moreover, you've told me yourself he's in Norsedam, and that means he's after Baba Yaga. She's no angel… if anything, she might have had him killed by now" Mr. Noon's confidence relieved Yora completely.
After all, while the Yimmels had considerable influence in Bralog, it was all thanks to Yora's sister, Baba Yaga.
Since Baba Yaga was Corpsedale's leader on the east coast, the Yimmels often saw the presence of curious individuals. They were the reason the Yimmels' many enemies died gruesomely, allowing the Yimmels to gain notoriety. In reality, the patron of the Yimmels was Baba Yaga, and Yora knew that all too well.
Mr. Noon was himself from Corpsedale too, serving as an overseer in the family and Yora's strongest bodyguard.
His assurance naturally inspired Yora's confidence, and her eyes lit up with anticipation for the future.
In fact, she saw that Zamri was now hers.
Nheless, the Yimmel family procession arrived outside Lanecorp Tower.
The Girlboss Begs For Remarriage Chapter 1632-There was a huge crowd of gossipers who gathered outside Lanecorp Tower, and Yora frowned at them in displeasure. "Who brought them here? Chase them away!"
"Yes, ma'am!"
As the Yimmel bodyguards chased the crowd away, they left tamely, the ferocious glare in their eyes escaping everyone's notice.
On the other hand, Yora became even more smug to see the crowd being chased away and led the procession striding into Lanecorp Tower.
She reared her chin like a triumphant general, just waiting for her enemies to sign their surrender.
Seeing that the lobby was empty, she nodded in satisfaction. "Where's Dorek?"
The boy was definitely not lying-he must have captured Helen Lane, and now, operations in the company stalled.
"M-Mr. Yimmel is in Ms. Lane's office," the receptionist waiting at the door stammered, clearly intimidated by the number of people Yora brought. "Good. Everyone, follow me," Yora gestured, before turning to some of the Yimmel bodyguards. "Watch that door. Don't let anyone enter or leave!" "Yes, ma'am!"
Even as more than half of the Yimmel bodyguards stayed at the lobby, the Yimmels could barely contain their excitement.
Seeing how security was lax, there was no mistaking it-Dorek had managed to seize Helen!
Entering the elevator, Yora nodded in approval. "Good. If anything, I'm surprised that Dorek remembered to tell the security guards to let us in."
The key members and executives of the Yimmel family all nodded and smiled in approval.
Cadell Yimmel-Dorek's father-was naturally endlessly proud that his spoiled son could achieve something like this.
He could certainly hold his head high now!
Still, what the Yimmels did not know was that after they headed upstairs, the crowd that they had just chased awa returned noisily, pushing their way into Lanecorp Tower. Somehow, Lanecorp's security guards were nowhere to be seen, and only the Yimmel bodyguards were on hand to stop them. However, they were having trouble since the crowd clearly outnumbered them.
That was when someone yelled, "Kill them!"
Suddenly, the smiling crowd, who were just trying to get inside earlier, suddenly whipped out metal bets and other weapons.
"What…" The Yimmel bodyguards were shocked.
They were just threatening and intercepting the crowd, until the crowd suddenly flashed their weapons and their smiles turned sinister.
They immediately felt danger, but it was already too late.
The crowd was suddenly an angry mob, and over a hundred others rushed into the lobby, surrounding the Yimmel bodyguards and pummeling them to the floor.
et Even as the lobby descended into chaos, the receptionist hid behind her desk in fear of becoming collateral, crying, "It's not my fault! It's not my fault!" ། Her fear was not feigned-when Yora and the Yimmels showed up, a gang of thugs were already hidden behind her, led by Terry Cotton, and ready to jump into action at any moment.
The Girlboss Begs For Remarriage Chapter 1633-"Eh?"
Although they had taken the elevator upstairs, the key members and executives of the Yimmel family could still hear the ruckus below.
"What's going on here?" Yora asked in confusion.
Ding.
However, that was when the elevator jingled, indicating their arrival.
Since Yora had been there before, she knew her way around on the executive floor, where Helen's office and the board conference room was. But as the elevator doors opened and Yora was about to ask about the ruckus below, she found herself staring blankly at a familiar face.
Frank Lawrence!
On top of that, he stood there outside the elevator as if waiting for them to arrive.
Even as her heart sank to rock-bottom, she asked with a quiver in her voice, "W-What's the meaning of this…?"
None of the key members and executives of the Yimmel family behind her answered, as they all knew that they had been tricked, even willingly falling into Frank's trap.
"Welcome!"
Frank smiled and started clapping, and the huge crowd behind him followed suit.
They were congesting the entire floor, all of them staring at the key members and executives of the Yimmel family with sinister smiles. Thud!
While Yora spaced out, the elevator doors almost shut, but Frank reacted quickly and caught it.
et "Hehe… How have you been, Madam Yimmel? I've prepared a present for you and your family, so please do accept it." Seeing Frank's cheerful smile, Yora could not have scowled harder.
Shuddering a little as she looked at the crowd behind Frank, she narrowed her eyes. "Do you knowè who has my back, Frank Lawrence?! If you hurt me now, you… Helen Lane even the rest of the Lane family… will pay!" However, Frank did not care about her threat at all, even leaning on the doorway, picking his ears and chuckling. "Oh, you mean Baba Yaga? You don't have to worry about her, since I've already dealt with her."
"Dealt with… What?"
Yora was even more shocked to hear that, than the fact that she just fell into a trap.
Nheless, she started laughing despite her initial shock. "Just stop it, Frank Lawrence! You couldn't even reach Baba Yaga—I'm telling you, there's just no chance!"
"Hehe… Come on, kiddo."
And while Yora was flustered, Mr. Noon stepped out of the elevator.
He looked around at everyone present before turning toward Frank, Pet smirking. You really know how to bullshit. Baba Yaga is the leader of Corpsedale on the east coast. Watch out, or you might bite off your own tongue!" "What good would lying to you do for me?"
Frank shrugged. "Why don't you confirm it yourself if you doubt me?"
"Just you wait, brat!"
Mr. Noon narrowed his eyes, whipping out his phone, and dialed Baba Yaga's number.
It was a personal number that must only be used when it was necessary.
However, even as everyone looked on, Mr. Noon's smile as he whipped out his phone turned to shock.
The Girlboss Begs For Remarriage Chapter 1634-However, even as everyone looked on, Mr. Noon's smile as he whipped out his phone turned to shock. Eventually, he was staring blankly at Frank, as fear and disbelief gradually crept into him.
Frank even walked up to him, asking pointlessly, "So? Can you reach her?"
"Mr. Noon, can you reach my sister-I mean, Baba Yaga?" Yora pressed as well.
It was only when Mr. Noon turned that Yora finally saw the fear and disbelief in his eyes.
After all, the personal numbers that Corpsedale and Hundred Bane Sect used concerned personal security!
In fact, any member of their cabal would be labeled a traitor and executed accordingly if they refused to answer a call from those personal numbers.
As it was a fate worse than death, rarely anyone betrayed Corpsedale and Hundred Bane Sect.
In other words, if one could not be reached on their number, the only explanation was that they had been killed.
Mr. Noon realized that before anyone else, but Yora realized too after seeing his reaction.
"Mr. Noon, is my sister really…"
She trailed off, feeling like the world had just crumbled.
After all, the Yimmels had made many enemies in Bralog. If the Yimmels lost Baba Yaga's protection, the enemies would all gang up and massacre the Yimmels.
At that point, Frank did not even need to do a thing while those people wiped out the Yimmels.
And realizing that Baba Yaga had most likely died, Yora blacked out and would have fallen head first onto the floor if a Yimmel executive did not catch her in time.
Thud.
Still, before the rest of the animals realized what had just happened, Mr. Noon who was brimming with confidence earlier-dropped to his knees before Frank! "M-Mr. Lawrence!" he cried. "I-I have nothing to do with the Yimmel family, and I've never hurt anyone in the Lane family! Please, just let me live… I'll do anything!" The Yimmels were certainly stunned to see the mysterious, proud man suddenly kneeling to Frank.
"Hmm…?"
Frank was narrowing his eyes at Mr. Noon in turn before he chuckled. "What if I told you to turn against the Yimmels and kill them? Would you do it?" Only "Of course! Not a problem!" Mr. Noon nodded repeatedly and immediately mustered himself to attack the Yimmels.
Shunk!
But at the very next instant, a needle pierced the back of Mr. Noon's head.
It then shot out from between his brows, leaving a gruesome splatter of blood along the walls.
The sight left the key members and executives of the Yimmel family petrified.
Even as Mr. Noon's hand remained in the air, he used the last bit of his strength to turn and level Frank a look of confusion.
And with that, he collapsed on the floor, no longer breathing.
Frank chuckled coolly, "You Corpsedale folks are all vile poisoners. Did you think I wouldn't know that? And turning against your employer just to survive… Your QUMS shame really knows no bounds." Though it was a justified cause to kill, Mr. Noon was too dead to hear it.
Nheless, Yora was left stupefied to see her sole guardian dead.
Even as her family kept her on her feet, she stared at Frank helplessly, her mouth hanging open but speechless.
The Girlboss Begs For Remarriage Chapter 1635-Yora could not beg for her life-not when she was joking around and bragging with her family members and executives on how to split the spoils after taking over Lanecorp.
But in just the blink of an eye, she was a captive, a reversal of fortunes that came all too quick.
If she begged now, she would be thoroughly humiliated. Her place as matriarch would also be reduced to a joke, as the Yimmels would certainly not listen to her afterward.
Threats? Yora had certainly tried.
But in all likelihood, Baba Yaga, her greatest leverage against Frank Lawrence, had been killed by the man himself.
What else could she threaten him with now?
"We still have a hand to play!"
Nheless, Cadell Yimmel shook her, whispering under his breath, "Don't you remember the Southstream Lanes? Hagar is still in Laneville with our many elites! If Frank dares to attack us now, we will kill our hostages!"
Cadell's words jolted Yora to her senses.
That was true! Gavin Lane and his family were still in their custody. If Frank refused to comply, they could order to have the Lanes killed at any moment!
With that in mind, Yora mustered strength in her legs as she regained her spirit, sighing. "Hagar really shows foresight… we would've been crushed if not for him!"
Her words left Cadell hanging his head unhappily.
Dorek Yimmel was his son and had in all likelihood turned traitor, helping Frank set up a trap for the entire family.
Even if the Yimmels managed to turn the tables by using the Southstream Lanes as their hostages, Cadell would still be punished.
The thought left him cursing his own son inwardly.
In fact, it was not just Cadell-as most of the other key members and executives of the Yimmel family came to their senses, they were cursing Cadell and the wretched son he raised. They almost got the entire family killed!
But even as the others were busy condemning Dorek, Yora's face was pale, and she did not even have the strength to curse Dorek's name. Right now, there was only one thing on her mind, clear as day.
The Yimmet family was basically fully dependent on Baba Yaga, who was in turn Yora's patron and how Yora earned her place as a respected matriarch in the family. Yora had also chosen to stay with her maiden family because the Lane family was basically insignificant in comparison, and she was not even interested in the measly wealth that the Lanes had. But things were now… different.
Yes, the Lane family was still second best to the Yimmels even with Lanecorp, but Baba Yaga had been killed.
And without Baba Yaga, Yora did not have the strength to keep the family together, just as word would quickly spread that the Yimmels had lost their patron.
There was no news like bad news, and that in turn meant the Yimmel family was now in a precarious position.
With that in mind, Yora turned and leveled an exasperated look at Frank, sighing. "You are formidable, Frank… so much so that I must admit that I've lost."
"Madam Yimmel?!"
Yora's words left the key members and executives of the Yimmel family in shock.
They were still holding the Southstream Lanes hostage, but she was already giving up?!
In fact, they could still take over Lanecorp by using those hostages as leverage, coercing Frank and Helen into submitting!
Yora, however, shook her head at the confused looks thrown her way.
The Girlboss Begs For Remarriage Chapter 1636-Yora, however, shook her head at the confused looks thrown her way. "But after all is said and done, I am still Mark Lane's wife… and I desire an alliance between the Yimmels and the Lanes as equals. What do you say to that?"
"What?!"
It was not just the Yimmels-even Helen was left dumbstruck by Yora's offer.
What was Yora saying? An alliance, and at this stage? Was that even possible?!
"Have you gone mad?!"
Cadell sprang to his feet, snapping right then, "We still have our hostages, and our family is much more powerful than the Lanes! We can return to Bralog in one piece even if we fail to take over the Lane family or Lanecorp! Why should we ally ourselves with some mooks like them?!"
"Exactly, Madam Yimmel! There's just no reason for it!"
"Are you perhaps in shock? Could you be delirious?"
"Shut up! I'm still sane!" Yora snapped, glaring at Cadell and the rest. "I am still the matriarch, so you'll obey even if you don't like it or face punishment per family rules!"
Her threat left the Yimmels deflated, but they were certainly upset, even whispering among themselves.
Yora made sure that they were silent before turning back to Frank, asking apprehensively, "How about it, Frank? Will you take my offer?"
As the Lanecorp health and safety department officers and Helen looked on eagerly, Frank smiled and said, "No."
"Frank!"
Helen leapt up, pulling Frank as she cried anxiously, "Please, they still have Granduncle and Uncle Gavin, and they're clearly compromising a lot when they offered the alliance. We shouldn't…"
She trailed off, unable to say the word 'overreach'.
"That's right."
Peter reasoned with Frank as well. "It's already good enough that the Yimmels are willing to back down, and it's a major accomplishment we can secure the Southstream Lanes release. We don't have to push them any further, do we?" Frank allowed them to finish but smiled and shook his head as he turned to Yora. "I refuse-because I have a better offer, if you're willing to listen." Seeing Frank's cunning smile, the Yimmels were left trading glances.
An alliance was the most they could offer in a way of compromise. Yet, not only was Frank refusing, but he had the cheek to suggest a counter-offer too?
"Do tell," Yora said, showing no hint of anger as she calmed the key members and executives of the Yimmel family, who all looked shocked. "Very well."
Frank smiled. The Yimmels shall hence be vassals of the Lane family. Shares and ownership over all Yimmel properties and businesses will be split with Lanecorp, with Lanecorp taking the majoritis percentage of over fifty-one percent." "What…"
Hearing that the Yimmels shall hence be vassals of the Lane family sent the key members and executives of the Yimmel family into an uproar.
Their eyes went red, as all of them were glaring at Frank and ready to kill him where he stood.
"What the fuck?!"
"Frank Lawrence! You've managed to one-up us, but you're already presuming to be our king?!" "Know your place!"
"Madam Yimmel! That prick was never going to be reasonable!"
Cadell was pointing at Frank as he е snapped, "He was messing with us from the start! At this point, we'll just have to take him down, even if we have to suffer losses!"
The Girlboss Begs For Remarriage Chapter 1637- Yora was no different, as she could barely hold back her rage.
She was ready to be reasonable with Frank, just as she intended to use the excuse of alliance to make Frank, the sole heir to the Lord of the Southern Woods, the Yimmels' new patron.
Not only did Frank immediately refuse, but he was also demanding that the Yimmels become vassals to the Lane family?!
Did he even consider the weight class of either family?!
If anything, Frank's demand made it clear that the Yimmels could not reason with Frank now-he wanted to push them over the brink, and the so- called alliance was certainly a pipe dream.
Moreover, from the perspective of the key members and executives of the Yimmel family, Frank merely meant to insult them.
You can kill a pawn, but never humiliate them—some were even thinking that it was high time they killed their hostages in Laneville!
Helen almost fainted at Frank's ridiculous demands too.
They were just inches away from saving the Southstream Lanes unscathed while building an alliance with the Yimmels, which was undoubtedly great for Lanecorp.
However, Frank simply threw away the gold bullion that dropped from the sky, even demanding that the Yimmels become subservient to the Lane family.
What the hell was going on? Did Frank somehow lose his mind?
Still, as Helen looked worriedly at Frank, her concerns slowly faded when she saw his confident smile.
She closed her eyes, telling herself repeatedly that Frank must have a reason in doing this.
She must believe Frank… but how?!
The Yimmels' offer was absolutely amazing-they would rescue their hostages while forming a beneficial partnership, but Frank refused it without hesitation.
Still, just as Helen was about to speak up, her brother placed a hand on her shoulder, stopping her. "Shush. Just trust him on this."
The sight of her spoiled brat of a brother becoming composed actually left Helen impressed.
Peter was right-why would Frank do something that would damage their position?
He definitely had a reason for doing this.
With that, Helen worked hard to quell vel?
his unease, unaware that even the Lanecorp health and safety department officers were doubtful of their boss' decision. It was the perfect deal-securing the release of the hostages, and making more money.
So why on earth would their boss refuse, even spitting in their faces and demanding an important family to be their vassals…
Was that not a little conceited?
"Hehe. I get it… You're all confused, and even angry, right?"
Frank remained smiling as he looked around at the Yimmels, though his words were meant for everyone in the room. "You think?!"
A Yimmel family executive strode up right then, pointing at Frank as he snapped, "We're done being nice, Frank Lawrence! You're too stubborn and greedy, asking for more!" "Our family will make you pay!"
"Yes! We have our connections too!"
"Madam Yimmel, we must not let this insolent brat go unpunished!"
Yora could hear her family's vocal disapproval, but she restrained herself as she growled, "You're really conceited, Frank, demanding that we fall to your fault. Are you perhaps actually keen to have the Southstream Lanes killed?"
The Girlboss Begs For Remarriage Chapter 1638-"That's right!"
Cadell Yimmel stood up, waving his phone at Frank. "With just one call, every member of the Lane family will die! Believe it!"
"Die, you say?"
Frank chuckled coolly, even picking his ears nonchalantly. "Then make the call."
"What?!"
The Yimmels were left dumbfounded, just as Helen stiffened in the distance.
Everyone thought the same thing, that Frank might really be giving up on the Lane family, even wiping them out by letting the Yimmels do the dirty deed.
Helen ran up to Frank right then, crying out, "J-Just calm down! Let's talk about this! I'll take Madam Yimmel's deal! We all will!"
Seeing Helen, Frank shot an accusing glare at Peter Lane, whom he had instructed to keep a close eye on his sister to stop her from meddling, no matter what Frank did.
It turned out that Peter dropped the ball when it mattered.
However, it was clear that Peter was doubting Frank's decision too.
He could more or less agree with Frank when he rejected the Yimmels' alliance, but allowing the Yimmels to massacre the Southstream Lanes?
Even Peter had trouble accepting that.
Frank sighed, seeing that right then.
He did not snap, however, only pulling Helen closer to him by the wrist and smiling. "I'm the one calling the shots here, Helen!"
Helen wheeled on him in confusion. "Are you just going to watch them kill Granduncle and Uncle Gavin? They have over a hundred hostages in their hands!"
"Exactly!"
Cadell laughed, still holding up his phone. "You'd better let Helen hand over Lanecorp to us, or they would all be dead! And their deaths will be on you and Helen-it will haunt you for the rest of your lives!" While Cadell's provocation did not affect Frank at all, Helen turned visibly pale.
If the Southstream Lanes were really massacred, she would never forgive herself.
Mark Lane had shown absolute faith in her when he passed everything to her, so she could not just let them die!
"Let's just give it up, Frank!"
Helen continued begging, "There's no need for anything. Just ask them to release their hostages, and we can both put this behind us…"
Frank naturally understood her concerns, as the pressure was now entirely on her.
If anything were to happen to the Southstream Lanes, she would be condemned from every direction.
However, Frank was not about to compromise-right now, the only two people who knew that the Yimmels were cornered were Yora and Frank himself.
After all, the Yimmels no longer had Baba Yaga's protection.
In fact, as soon Yora indicated that she was willing to talk things out Frank Knew that the hag had her eyes on him… or his connections, to be specific. It seemed that Yora was aware that Frank was the sole heir to the Lord of the Southern Woods. Once the Lane family took the Yimmels in, the Yimmels' many enemies would come calling.
The Girlboss Begs For Remarriage Chapter 1639-And as the Lane family got caught in the Yimmels' mess, Frank would have to do something.
One had to admit that Yora was cunning, as she was banking on Frank's connections and involvement once the Lanes formed an alliance with their family.
After all, an alliance between the Lanes and the Yimmels did not sound as ideal or mutually beneficial. In reality, the Yimmels would be leeching off the Lanes-specifically Frank.
The Yimmels wanted to leech off him? Sure they could, but they were not going to lord over him while they did.
In fact, they should be begging on their knees!
If the Yimmels were so keen on their survival, the only option Frank would give them was to make them pay before allowing them to serve as vassals for the Lane family.
That was the only way he could be convinced to take them in.
However, demanding an alliance instead? There was absolutely no chance.
That was why Frank took away any leverage the Yimmels might have, including their hostages in Laneville.
Firmly pulling Helen away, he smirked at Cadell. "I'm sorry, but only I get to decide anything here. You can call your people at Laneville right now and have them kill your hostages if you want-in fact, I'd really like to see that."
"Frank!" Helen was dumbfounded by Frank's disregard for the Lane family.
"Shush."
Frank pulled her into his arms, placing a finger on his lips as she watched from up close. "Trust me."
Helen blushed from their proximity, while her concern for the Southstream Lanes' safety disappeared from her mind as well.
"Ugh…"
She sighed inwardly and realized things had gone sour with Frank before, even leading to a divorce.
She had simply figured him out-even if things turned out fine every time, the journey toward that outcome prompted doubt and concern. Nheless, Helen felt relief and smiled wryly.
What else could she do to help Frank anyway? Trusting him was already the best form of support she could offer.
Hence, her tensed body relaxed as she basically leaned on Frank, quietly leaving everything up to him.
On the other hand, seeing that Helen was not saying anything, Cadell frowned and dissed, "Hah! And you still consider yourself Lanecorp's board ghair, or the head of the Lane family? The way I see it, you're just Frank Lawrence's puppet." Everyone, including Frank, did a double take at his words.
et One must admit that Cadell was despicable, as saying something that would hurt Helen the most, with her pride as a strong, independent woman. However, Helen did not seem to care at all, even shaking her head at Cadell. "Everyone has things they are good at, and things where they come e up short. I won't humor my vanity when it's not my area of expertise, and I know Frank wouldn't take everything from me Then flashing a bewitching smile, she continued, "Moreover, we're family, and doesn't family have each other's backs?" "Yeah!"
The security guards behind Frank applauded in approval, and even Frank was touched.
The Girlboss Begs For Remarriage Chapter 1640-Only the Yimmels were scowling.
"Fine!" Cadell, who had had enough just then, whipped out his phone.
"Since you're all so united, let's see how you'll stay that way after the Southstream Lanes are massacred! I'm making the call right now!"
As he dialed the number, Frank was still smirking, while Helen's fingers dug into his arm, showing her nervousness.
"Uncle Cadell!" Hagar Yimmel was soon huffing from the other end.
"Hagar!" Cadell was barking at once. "We fell for Frank Lawrence's trap here! You still have the hostages, don't you?! Kill ten of them-show them the price of underestimating the Yimmels!"
However, Hagar was huffing despite Cadell's orders, clearly on the run.
"No… Uncle Cadell! We were attacked, too! They had martial artists and even the army… We've lost many retainers! Have you heard of the name Hans Schnee?!" "Hans Schnee?! As in the East Coast Base Commander?!"
Cadell and the rest of the Yimmels were left gaping in disbelief.
On the other hand, Hagar was still shouting. "I don't know anything about the base commander, but he brought an entire battalion of fully-armed soldiers… Argh!!!"
There was a scream, and a suffocating silence ensued, followed by a static beeping as the call was cut off.
The Yimmels' heart sank right then.
When they turned toward Frank again, they finally realized why he was so confident.
"So, have you made up your mind?"
Frank smiled at the key members and executives of the Yimmel family. "You should feel lucky that you're alive here and talking to me. I can't say the same of the ones in Laneville." Yora's voice was trembling. "W-What are you saying?!"
"I mean what I said. Did you think you could get away unpunished after you held the Southstream Lanes against their will?"
Frank shrugged, his expression turning dark and his stare cool.
"Anyway, now that we're done. talking about unrelated matters, I'm sure you understand your position now."
en "I will be frank-you'll either submit, or die. Those are the only options open to you. Now, choose!"
Cadell sprang to his feet right then, snapping at Frank, "Know your place, Frank!
You—"
Before he could finish, an invisible burst of pure vigor erupted. It sent him crashing through the glass wall, screaming as he fell out of the side of Lanecorp Tower. Everyone naturally had an idea of what would happen to Cadell at that point.
The precedent Cadell set sent chills running down their spines, and most of them were sweating buckets.
Frank was as meticulous as he was ruthless!
He was smiling and joking around a second ago, and he then killed one of them as the rest of them watched. While his ruthless attitude scared most of the Yimmels, there were some who were fearless.
In fact, one of the Yimmel executives stood up and bellowed, "Frank Lawrence! Our family will dot fall to a measly family like the Lanes even if you kill every last one of us! Know your place, and-"
With another burst of pure vigor, the man was screaming as he crashed out of the window just like Cadell.
"It seems that you Yimmels have a spine. Impressive."
Frank was even clapping and chuckling. "In that case, I'll be blunt-one or two deaths make no difference to me. You Yimmels were ready to go down swinging anyway, so why keep you around? Don't you agree?"
