Ch. 106..110: The President's Pregnant, Ex-Wife Chapter 106-110
Chapter 101: Chapter 101 – Zayla is not my fiancé.
Robin was stunned by the request. He did not know anything about cooking. Even if he did, there was no kitchen at the hospital for him to cook in, which meant he would have to leave her alone, just as she wanted.
He pursed his lips, and an idea crossed his mind.
"What? Do you want to die? You know that I have never handled cooking utensils in my life before," he expressed his concern.
Sabrina was getting excited. Since he wanted to be around her, she would do her best to frustrate him and for him to leave.
"You should start learning then. Or should I call Devin to prepare and bring it to me?" She taunted Robin.
Robin did not want to face Devin again.
He would only make a mockery of Robin’s weakness, and Sabrina was too sure that no matter the time she called Devin, he would wake up and cook for her.
Whereas she did not see that in Robin. He would never go to the kitchen, but to her amazement, Robin agreed but also with a warning,
"Alright. You have to promise me one thing. If I make the salad, you have to eat it, no matter how horrible it tastes."
Sure thing, Robin had a solution to any problem. He was ready to use a cookbook to prepare the salad if only she would eat it. Sabrina grimaced at the warning. For Robin to cook for her?
"I’m not hungry anymore. Goodnight," She quickly changed her mind. Robin was relieved but also worried for her health. She did not eat last night before being knocked out by the antibiotics, so indeed, she’d be hungry.
"You have to eat, Sabrina?" Robin said in a gentle tone while he smiled sweetly at her. Sabrina felt like she was seeing a stranger by the way he kept treating her.
Then again, she felt it was just because of the pregnancy and rebuked herself for even thinking that he’d genuinely care about her.
"I already said that I’m not hungry," she snarled, turned to her side facing the wall, and forced herself back to sleep.
By the time she woke up again, Robin had changed his clothes and was looking very handsome. Daniel had passed by to bring the clothes for him, which he kept in the hospital closet since it was a VIP ward.
Sabrina could also smell varieties of food and instantly felt hungry. However, she felt embarrassed to ask Robin for the food and rather asked,
"Did you shower in this ward?"
"Is anything wrong with that?" Robin asked in return. Sabrina pursed her lips when her stomach rumbled. Knowing that Robin had heard it, she meant to taunt him again and asked,
"Did you prepare my salad?"
Robin brought the tray of different delicacies, and her mouth watered whiles he said, "I didn’t know what you’d like, so I ordered everything I could think of."
Looking at the varieties of hot steaming foods, Sabrina thought to empty her bladder first and said,
"I will use the bathroom first."
Robin smirked and put the tray aside while he said,
"Let me call the nurse to remove the IV first."
"I can hold it. I will be careful," Sabrina declined, not wanting to wait so long for the nurse when she was so pressed. Robin smiled and said,
"Or I can go in there with you. I mean, we were married for three years and have seen each other naked most of the time."
Sabrina felt blood climbing up her cheeks at the way Robin was being flirtatious with her. She bit her lips and sneered, "Thanks, but I can do so myself."
She did not understand the reason why her mind instantly traveled to her last night at the villa, the same night he brought Zayla and threatened not to sign the divorce papers if she did not have sex with him.
When Sabrina returned, Robin helped her to eat before eating the remaining dishes and throwing the leftovers away. When she sat on the bed, Robin said,
"I told Devin to come with your laptop because you might not react to the IV the same way you did last night. You can still work from here, and no one would notice that you are not in your office."
Sabrina found his suggestion laudable and agreed but decided to tease him again. "So, you left your pregnant fiancé alone? What if someone goes in there and rapes her?"
Robin frowned at her choice of words. He knew that she was being kind to even tolerate his presence but feared she might turn evil because of all the pain he caused her.
"Sabrina, I’ve never known you to have an evil mind towards anyone."
Sabrina chuckled and did not show any remorse on her face.
"I don’t have an evil mind. I’m just saying that you should be with her because I have my family to take care of me."
Again, she was pushing him away, and that saddened Robin’s heart. He only had one person to blame, and that was Martin.
"You want me to leave for that imbecile Martin to come here, isn’t it?" Robin was afraid that Sabrina was falling in love with Martin, and it made his heart heavy.
Sabrina saw the anguish on his face and enjoyed it even more whiles she taunted again,
"That’s more like it, and I’m missing him a lot."
Robin’s fingers balled tightly into a fist while he forced himself to be calm and kill the jealousy swimming through his blood. He suddenly scowled,
"Congrats, cos I can assure you that he would not dare to come near you except for business."
Sabrina liked the fact that her words made him upset and continued to do so, feeling that if he did not like it, then he would advise himself not to show his face at the hospital again.
"Now, you sound like a jealous husband, but we are divorced. This reaction should be meant for your fiancé.
Robin was upset with hearing that word over, and over, again, and unknowingly released his anger on her.
"She is not my fiancé!" Robin yelled. Seeing that Sabrina was startled, his voice softened, and he said,
"She is just my girlfriend."
Chapter 102: Chapter 102 - I have my dad, and I have Devin. I don’t need you, Robin
"She is not my fiancé!" Robin yelled. Seeing that Sabrina was startled, his voice softened, and he said, "She is just my girlfriend."
Sabrina gulped, too shocked by his reaction and denial of Zayla. Was it because she was not here? She somewhat found Robin’s reaction entertaining and decided to taunt him further.
"But she wears your ring."
"That’s because she wanted it, but I never proposed," Robin revealed.
Sabrina knew that Robin would not lie. He would rather bullshit or force his way through the situation but hardly would he call black, red.
Now she wondered how their relationship had been. Perhaps she was driven by curiosity, but she wanted to know.
"But you have been fucking her."
"After that drunk night, I never touched her again."
Sabrina was wide-eyed for Robin to be saying that when he lived under the same roof with Zayla. She remembered that each time Robin came home to the villa, he would release all his energy on her but still have some by morning to fuck those whores.
"Now, that is hard to believe, but hey, why are you even telling me?" She asked under her breath. Taunting Robin was only bringing back memories she was trying to bury, and now, she was regretting it.
"Because you keep bringing her up," Robin sighed and said before bringing an important matter to the table. "Here’s the thing, if you have any difficulties in the office, you can count on me, okay?"
He had gone back to that gentility that kept poking her in the rib. Sabrina pursed her lips and refused his kindness again,
"I have my dad, and I have Devin. I don’t need you, Robin."
Robin was hurt by her response but smiled, knowing that he had done worse to her. He was always cold towards her, even before the divorce, and it would not be easy for her to see the changes in him.
"Since we are expecting a child together, don’t you think that we should live peacefully for his or her sake?" Robin requested.
Sabrina shook her head, feeling there was more to that innocent request. "What do you want, Robin?" She asked seriously.
"Friendship," Robin responded earnestly. Sabrina could not refuse since she was carrying his child.
"Fine. Friends."
Robin smiled as his heart warmed. "I think your family is here, so can I get a hug before I leave?" Seeing her raised brows, he quickly added, "To seal our friendship, I mean."
Sabrina shook her head and responded,
"You wish."
Robin was saddened because only he knew how much he missed her closeness. He always thought that he could get everything he got from Sabrina from Zayla or any other woman, but the first time Zayla cooked for him, it was a disaster, and that wish was gone.
Meanwhile, the first time he ate Sabrina’s food was when he stopped eating out. He got addicted to her food, and that was when he began to explore her sexy body as well. He was never disappointed with both.
Sadly, as soon as Sabrina stepped out of his life, even his sexual life was crushed. It was too late for him to realize that just as she kept giving without taking back, she slowly stole his heart and soul, for which reason he could not get her out of his mind.
"Come on, Sabrina, just for friendship’s sake."
"Get out, Robin. I will die before I hug you," Sabrina said coldly. The seriousness in her voice made Robin end his request, but he also left with a warning,
"Never say never, dear one. You never know what the future holds," he said and left, leaving Sabrina stunned.
’Dear one? Did Robin just call me that?’
Robin had never used pet names before, and Sabrina was wondering what was causing all these changes she was seeing in him.
While she thought it over, a smile stretched her lips at the sight of Matilda and Devin. They hugged her in turns before Devin asked,
"So, how was your night? I hope he didn’t try anything stupid?"
Matilda frowned a little, knowing that Robin would do nothing to hurt Sabrina. Sabrina chuckled and responded,
"There is nothing he can do."
"Did you eat the food I brought last night?" Matilda recalled when she brought out the packed breakfast and lunch she had cooked for her this morning in a flask.
"You brought food?" Sabrina asked, making Matilda pause her movement. She went to check the nightstand where she dropped the food and lifted it.
"It is here." Then she opened it and frowned, "It’s gone bad."
Sabrina felt terrible that Matilda’s effects were wasted. "Robin didn’t tell me, but I wasn’t hungry, though."
Since Matilda did not want her to blame Robin much, she quickly brushed it aside and said, "Anyway, I brought you breakfast and lunch."
Sabrina felt guiltier. She was not expecting Matilda to do so much for her and did not bother asking before eating what Robin had brought her.
"I already ate breakfast."
"From where?" Devin asked seriously. He wanted Sabrina to eat only healthy meals and wondered what Robin must have given her. He did not trust Robin to take care of Sabrina anyway.
"I don’t know, but I woke up, and it was here. Last night, I wanted to taunt him to make him cook for me."
"Good, did you?" Devin asked with interest, knowing that Robin couldn’t. Sabrina smiled and explained,
"He said I would have to eat whatever he makes even if it tasted horrible."
"I won’t take that chance," Matilda smiled and said, happy for how smart Robin was to have found a way of escape.
"Exactly why I didn’t," Sabrina agreed. Matilda observed her and pointed out,
"Now you look better. I think you should shower and change," she suggested since Sabrina was still in her work clothes from yesterday. Sabrina quickly agreed because she was equally tired of the formal wear.
Devin lifted a laptop bag and said, "I will go to the office and here, your laptop. If you need anything else, please call me." He kissed her on the forehead before leaving the ward.
Robin got to the office and was surprised to see Zayla waiting for him at the reception.
"Robin, where exactly have you been?" Zayla demanded, and Robin frowned instantly.
Chapter 103: Chapter 103 – Wrong. Robin is the father of her child
Zayla went to see her father at her mother’s apartment since she could not stand Daniel. She left with the driver, who had to return to the penthouse since Zayla had said that she was not going back to the penthouse that night.
Luckily, her mother was sleeping when she reached there, so her father spoke comfortably in the small apartment.
Her mother had a way of making her feel guilty and at this juncture, she did not want that. Her father was surprised to see her since it was already late, and she had not called to pre-inform him that she was coming over.
"Zayla, I wanted to call you, but I thought you’d be sleeping. So, what are you doing here?"
Her father looked too happy to a fault, in contrast to the movie he was watching on TV. The last time they spoke on the phone, his mood was terrible, and she wanted to avoid him, but it seemed like some magic had happened.
"Robin isn’t coming home tonight, and he sent his best friend over to watch over me. He is a hacker, and I don’t like him, so I told Robin I’d stay here for a few days."
Zayla noticed while she spoke that her father was all smiles and had not taken his eyes off the tv. She was about to ask if he heard her before he responded,
"You could have just told him that you were not comfortable with his best friend and have him leave."
He feared another woman taking Zayla’s home from her, as she took it from Sabrina. As they say, with the law of karma.
For as long as Robin would not stop being with other women, he could not guarantee that his daughter would be the only woman in his life.
"You are right, but that did not happen, so why were you going to call me?" Zayla brought his attention back to the matter at hand.
Her father’s expression changed as he muted the voice of the tv and turned to face her.
"I have information that Sabrina is pregnant."
"No." She was about to say that it was impossible since Sabrina was divorced before remembering that Sabrina had a boyfriend. She did not believe all that Robin said about her relationship with Martin being fake.
"Oh, then, good news. She must be pregnant with that boyfriend of hers."
Her father shook his head in disapproval. "Wrong. Robin is the father of her child."
The color drained from Zayla’s face, and she felt dizzy.
"Impossible."
"My sources are reliable," her father ascertained. Zayla instantly got suspicious.
All this while, he would tell her that he did not have money and she should try to get the villa, but he always had first-hand information.
"Dad, getting information like this is very expensive, so who is sponsoring you?"
Her father smiled and revealed, "I was visited by Martin’s sister."
"Martin does not have a sister. It’s not on any of his profiles in the business news," Zayla countered, wondering if her father was being fed the right news and whoever it was that visited him.
"His sister is Mara Sula. He keeps her a secret because she is paralyzed."
Zayla had heard the name Mara from Sabrina when they were friends. "The one who tried to burn Sabrina? She died."
"No. She survived the accident," her father insisted.
Zayla did not know why they wasted their time arguing about this since it was not making sense to her. She asked with disinterest,
"So, she came here?"
"No. She’s paralyzed, but she sent someone. From her sources, her brother is in a very bad mood because Robin sent him out of the hospital and warned him to stay away from Sabrina.
She is also sad because her brother’s bad mood is affecting their relationship."
Zayla’s confusion was only growing with every piece of information her father kept relaying. "Robin does not care about Sabrina."
"He does. Before then, he secretly warned Martin to stay away from her, but after finding out that Sabrina was pregnant with his child, he doesn’t hide it anymore."
Zayla’s eyes were already glassy. "That is not true."
Her father held her hand and squeezed it tightly,
"Zayla, Robin invested six of his subsidiary companies into JC Minerals, so what reason can you give for that? Don’t forget that he refused to help me, your father," her father spoke bitterly.
Jealousy and anger sprawled through his words like snakes at how Robin was helping his ex-wife instead of his fiancé, who was his future.
The middle-aged man’s anger and envy towards Sabrina reached the heavens.
"He is in love with the bitch?" Zayla’s voice was blended with tears since she had seen the signs, but Robin kept denying it.
She was there when Sabrina asked for the divorce, but their exchanges did not show that Robin cared for her.
Zayla was lost as to when exactly things began to develop between them.
"Lucky for us, Martin’s sister wants Sabrina dead," her father announced, but Zayla grimaced. She wanted to see Sabrina suffer and beg but never thought about taking her life.
"Dad, I can do many evil things but not stain my hands with blood." Zayla was taking her stand in the whole challenge. She hated Sabrina but had not thought about her death.
She did not notice that her father was very anguished by her retortion.
"You are foolish. How else would you have Robin to focus on you?"
Mentioning Robin, Zayla was ready to do anything. She loved Robin the moment she set eyes on him, not caring that Sabrina had expressed interest in him first.
"What is the plan?"
Her father smiled upon seeing her seriousness once again.
"The general is having a surprise birthday party for his daughter. Sabrina would not miss it because Matilda is her best friend."
"So, how do you intend to kill her?" Zayla asked for the details.
Chapter 104: Chapter 104 – So, you are not pregnant?
Zayla already knew that Devin was always there to protect Sabrina, but her father might know more than she did, for which reason she was ready to take this up.
"Poison. It would not take effect immediately but only after she goes home, so by then, everything would be wiped from the cameras. The poison would also disappear from her system as soon as she dies, and doctors would not be able to detect it even during autopsy."
Zayla’s heart warmed. It was not the bloody thing she thought about it. This would be a simple and clean murder with no traces. This was a perfect solution, now that Sabrina was confirmed pregnant for Robin.
Zayla was not going to share Robin with the bitch. "I will get someone to do it."
"Mara already has someone. She only needs you to cause a distraction," her father stated, and Zayla was a little confused.
"How?" She was now listening attentively to everything her father was saying.
"Robin will be at the party this Saturday."
Another shocker had Zayla paling from the revelation. It was unbelievable since Robin went to most places with her. It was the reason she believed he loved her when he said it because he never took Sabrina out throughout their marriage.
"But he didn’t tell me about it."
"This means he does not plan to go with you because he doesn’t want to hurt Sabrina. The woman he loves is carrying his child, so she has an advantage over you," her father remarked.
Zayla felt the emptiness and the loser’s siren so close, it demoralized her.
"Then what do I do?" Anxiety laced her voice while she asked.
Her father leaned in and whispered something into her ears. Zayla smiled instantly before her father said,
"Zayla, I can’t pay those doctors anymore, but I managed to get these. You have to make him believe that you already went today."
As Zayla looked at the fake documents, she smiled, "Thank you, Dad."
"And Zayla, I’m afraid because you are not smart." Her father observed and spoke.
All this while, she lived under the same roof with a man she loved, and could not even seduce him. Also, she could not convince Robin to clear her father’s debts which would have been just a drop of water in the ocean, considering Robin’s net worth.
"What are you talking about?" Zayla asked with confusion. It hurt her every time her father complained that she was not smart, but he always had a good reason for it.
"For three months of pregnancy, there should be a little bump by now. Here, I got this for you." He gave her a fake bump. At the same time, a cold female voice said behind them,
"So, you are not pregnant?"
Her mother had woken up to pee when she realized she could not hear the voice of the tv, but her husband was speaking to someone.
She thought it was a phone conversation, but as she leaned against the door, she realized that the voice was her daughter and joined them.
Since the father and daughter always hide things from her, she saw this as a perfect opportunity to dig out exactly what they were hiding this time, thereby eavesdropping on their conversation earlier.
Zayla panicked, but her father responded to his wife coldly, "Stay out of it."
Zayla’s mother has never supported their actions and decisions, so he did not deem it necessary to throw light on anything to make her understand. The woman was adamant due to the fear of losing her family if things went out of hand.
"If Robin finds out, your blood would not be enough to pay. Let’s leave now. Let’s go to Florida. I have some relatives there. Leave Robin a letter saying that you are not pregnant," she earnestly advised.
Knowing that a man like Robin could divorce his wife because of the hope of having a child with another woman, hell would break loose if he found out the opposite.
Zayla’s father laughed and said, "If you want to leave, then go alone. Mara gave me a lot of money." He brought out bundles of cash, causing both the mother and daughter’s eyes to widen.
Zayla realized it was the reason why her father was in a very good mood when she arrived earlier.
Her mother was not greedy for gain, but since they had more than enough, it would be good for them to settle in a quiet place and start life all over.
"Good. I will book our flights, so we leave first thing in the morning."
Her husband glared at her coldly. Robin was a goldmine, so why should he leave when he hadn’t succeeded in getting anything?
The only person blocking his progress at the moment was Sabrina, and now that he had a perfect plan to eliminate her, what more could go wrong?
"Book your flight alone. With Mara on our side, we shall win against Sabrina."
"Oh, Frank, you are so foolish. Deceit never wins against honesty. Sabrina is an honest woman, for which reason she still stands tall even after all Zayla did to her."
She recalled when Zayla was friends with Sabrina in high school that Zayla always talked about how good Sabrina was to her.
The moment she heard about Robin and saw him, jealousy grew as a weed in her heart. From then on, all she talked about was how bad Sabrina was.
"Mom, are you sure you are my mother?"
Zayla was surprised and annoyed at how her mother described Sabrina as a woman of integrity and she a woman of dishonesty.
"If I wasn’t, I would not be telling you the truth. Sabrina is a good woman, and you are only destroying yourself. Be good, and God will bless you with a good man of your own," her mother advised, but Zayla was angry and yelled,
"I only want Robin."
Her mother looked at her and shook her head, "Then you will die young."
"Get out, Francisca. Take this money and leave whenever you want." Her husband threw two bundles of cash at her while he yelled.
Francisca took the money and asked him,
"Who will cook your meals? You don’t have maids anymore."
She was trying to remind him of his present condition but only succeeded in making him angrier.
"I will order takeouts. Now get out!" Frank yelled.
Chapter 105: Chapter 105 – Sabrina has equal right to me.
Francisca forced a smile and walked back to her room. When she reached the entrance, she turned around and said, "I will leave tomorrow but don’t forget what I told you, Zayla."
Frank saw the confusion on Zayla’s face and felt she would change her mind. He immediately said,
"Zayla, trust me. You have to return to your penthouse to take control of your home before Sabrina rips it from you. She now controls Robin, and he would give her anything, including Jewel Group, if only she asks for it."
Zayla nodded her head, accepting her father’s suggestion, as her mother shook her head with disappointment and went to her room.
Zayla agreed with her father that she had to constantly be in Robin’s life to stop him from getting close to Sabrina.
"I will leave first thing in the morning and go to his office."
The next day, Zayla went to Robin’s office, but since he had not arrived, Aria refused to open the door for her. As soon as she saw Robin, her anger surged, and she yelled,
"Robin, where exactly have you been?" Zayla demanded, and Robin frowned instantly.
He did not answer her question and walked past her, but Aria had already gone ahead to enter some codes before the door opened.
She was surprised by how Zayla had disrespected the boss right in the open, glad that her boss walked away from her.
Zayla was right behind Robin when he entered his office and asked again, "Robin, did you just walk out on me?"
Robin turned around, and his expression was frosty. He treated Sabrina worse than he treated Zayla, but not for once did she raise her voice at him.
"Have you lost your manners, Zayla? How dare you talk to me like that, forgetting we were at the reception area?"
From the way his voice raised, Zayla realized that she was wrong to have lost control. Robin was a man with a big ego, and getting him angry could spell doom for her.
She swallowed her anger and softened her voice,
"I’m sorry, Robin, I’m just depressed."
"What do you want?" Robin asked when he sat on his executive swivel chair and turned on the laptop. Zayla had everything at her beck and call with no pressure about managing a company, so why should she suffer depression?
Zayla went around to hug him from the back, and he stiffened instantly while she said, "I missed you. When are you coming home?"
Robin realized that the more he lived with Zayla, the more her actions irritated him. Sabrina’s presence brought him calmness, in contrast to what he felt for Zayla.
He convinced himself that he loved Zayla, but why couldn’t he stand her presence?
"In two days," he responded without taking his eyes away from his laptop. His heart was strangely pained at the knowledge that he would not be able to watch Sabrina sleep after two days to steal one or two kisses.
Zayla did not like the idea, knowing that the more time Robin spent with Sabrina, the more his attitude toward her, Zayla changed.
"But why? Where is this business? I want to come with you," Zayla insisted. Knowing that Sabrina was pregnant for him, she meant to be in his life every step of the way. She would not let Sabrina win.
"You can’t come with me," Robin said in annoyance, not wanting anyone to ruin the short moment he had with Sabrina. He knew that she would never take him back but would give anything to enjoy a calming moment with her.
"But why?" Zayla asked in a sing-song voice.
Not able to stand the irritation, Robin decided to tell her since he was not used to lying in the first place.
"Because it’s Sabrina. She’s sick, and it’s my responsibility to take care of her."
Zayla’s heart sank at the gentleness he attached to mentioning Sabrina’s name. Her father was right, and Zayla felt like she had lost, but then again, Robin would never leave her, knowing that she was pregnant.
"But you are divorced. You are not obligated to," she frowned and said, standing behind Robin, but he continued with what he was doing, responding absentmindedly to her,
"She is carrying my child too, Zayla. Sabrina is two months pregnant with me."
Zayla was not stupid not to hear the pride in his voice when he talked about Sabrina’s pregnancy. Also, she was not expecting him to tell in the first place, so this was a silent message that Robin would not stop seeing his ex-wife.
Zayla thought about a way to create doubt in his mind and said,
"Robin, it can’t be yours. She has a boyfriend, remember?"
Robin grimaced and responded, "I told you they were fake dating. Sabrina is two months pregnant, and we have only been divorced for a month, in case you failed to do the calculation."
Zayla was saddened that he also called her dumb to her face when her father had also said to her face that she was not smart.
"But you are still divorced, and her family can take care of her. I am carrying you, child, too." Zayla carefully touched his soft spot, knowing that it was his greatest weakness.
However, she soon regretted it this time.
"How did you know about her family? You said you knew nothing about her?"
Zayla felt like her father’s words were curses that were now taking a toll on her life. Why did she always speak before thinking?
"At the birthday party, there were people all around her, so I assumed they were her family members," Zayla quickly came up with an excuse. Robin could not doubt it since it made sense but thought to clarify things with Zayla.
"Anyway, as long as Sabrina is carrying my child, she has equal rights to me. I will see her every morning and evening after she is discharged from the hospital, and you have to accept that."
