Ch. 156..160: The President's Pregnant, Ex-Wife Chapter 156-160
Chapter 156: Chapter 156 - I don’t believe a fuck that you fainted yesterday
Robin was boiling with so much rage, it was as if it was going to cook him alive. He has been scorned, manipulated and deceived, and toiled with by the father and daughter.
He figured that Zayla must have plotted this for years and their meeting again was not an accident or coincidence as it looked.
Robin had wished for the test to be positive because he indeed wanted a lot of children to build the kind of family that would last for ages. That obsession drove him into accepting the divorce because he wanted the child Zayla claimed she would be giving him.
Ah, Robin, felt so foolish for the decisions he took regarding Zayla. Thinking he was the wisest, he just realized that somebody was smarter and working ahead of him.
He smiled bitterly but could not shed a tear for his foolishness. His tears would only pour out every time he thought about what he did to Sabrina.
Killing his mother was not enough for Ken and he managed to ruin Robin’s life with his daughter. For a moment, Robin wanted to walk into the next room and just suffocate Zayla to death before finding Ken and putting a bullet to his head but that would be too easy.
He had to make sure that the father and daughter’s lives were messed up just like his. He had to ensure that he allowed them to feel pain, worse than his.
Robin was not going to make it easy for them.
Sleep was a struggle in a house where Robin shared with the bitch and he could not endure sleeping in the same house with her, even if it was in a separate room.
Picking a few items and clothes, he drove through the night to the office after leaving a few instructions to his domestic workers.
"Inform me every time Zayla steps out of the penthouse and don’t allow her to go without the driver," he said to the chief security, who nodded his head in the affirmative.
Then he said to the driver. "Wherever she wants to go, inform me first." The driver nodded his head in agreement before Robin finally drove out of the penthouse.
It was only on the sofa in his office that Robin was able to have some sleep. He could not use the inner room which had a bed because of the things he had done there before.
Thinking back, he felt disgusted at the thought of all the bitches he brought and fucked there.
He sent an email to his secretary in the morning, so she would act on it as soon as she arrived at the office. ’Change everything in the inner room into a cozy bedroom. I want all the old items removed, the paint colors and everything else changed.’
Robin showered in his office washroom because he had everything there. It used to serve a bad purpose before but now it served a good purpose since he did not want to lodge in a hotel or move to another penthouse which would arouse suspicions and attract the media’s attention.
Sleeping in the office, one would just assume that he had a lot of work to do and could not go home. After dressing up and trying to look his best because he was going to see Sabrina, he drove to the florist’s shop and bought the biggest and freshest roses that Sabrina loved.
Usually, he used to send Aria to get them but decided to do so himself today. He also figured that everything Sabrina wanted, he would get them for her himself, including that food he wanted her to cook when he was at the hospital.
She was a woman who deserved every good thing in life and Robin planned to learn how to cook, if that would make her happy.
After getting the flowers, he called some of Kennedy’s former investors as the beginning of his revenge plan.
"Mr. Rolland, I wish to inform you that I have no association with Mr. Chance. You are free to use whatever means it is to get your money back."
The man at the end of the line was surprised to receive such a call so early in the morning from Mr. Jewel. He was the reason why the man was relaxed, hoping that Robin would clear Kennedy’s debt because he was engaged to his daughter.
"Mr. Jewel, are you sure about this? I hope you won’t mind if I repeat the things you said to Mr. Chance."
Robin scoffed and responded, "You can or cannot tell him that I informed you but what I have said, would never be changed. If you delay and he leaves the country, I would not be held responsible."
Robin knew that Kennedy could never leave the country but wanted to add urgency for the investors to be on Kennedy’s tail.
After hanging up, he called the second, third, fourth and fifth investors, saying the same things to them.
That is, Robin washed his hands off the bankruptcy case against Kennedy Chance. After that, he called Daniel.
"Dan, Zayla is not pregnant. I hope you got the people to watch her and her father’s every movement. Please remember that they are not allowed to leave the soils of this city."
Daniel could not be happier that the bitch would have no attachment to Robin. "Well noted, Robin. The men are already watching their every move and would keep updating me."
After that, Robin sent an email to the banks to reduce all of Zayla’s expenditures and that was, she could never spend more than hundred dollars a day. She would be able to see all the money in the account and not be able to touch any of it.
When he arrived at Cobby’s mansion, he was covered with guilt that made it difficult for him to step out of the car but he had to, for the fact that he was already there.
Unfortunately for him, as soon as he stepped out, Devin arrived as well.
"Did you finish fucking your whores? I don’t believe a fuck that you fainted yesterday. Robin, you are just shameless," Devin began to taunt him so early in the morning, and for the first time, Robin remained mute.
Chapter 157: Chapter 157 – I want to kiss our baby, dear one.
Robin felt shameless indeed but also felt that it was not for the reason Devin spoke about so he decided to ignore him.
The truth about Sabrina’s sacrifice for him made it easy for him to endure everything Devin was throwing at him.
"You suddenly lost your tongue, Robin?" Devin continued to taunt him but he just went to the door and knocked on it to Devin’s shock.
He could not understand the reason why Robin would ignore him so easily.
Robin expected to see a maid but Sabrina stepped out, looking even more beautiful than he ever saw her. He was lost for words but for the most part, guilt lay heavily in his heart, as he wondered the reason why he never saw her like this before.
With just a little makeup, Sabrina stunned him with her morning look. He wished he had not signed the damn divorce papers before finding out the truth. Like everything would have been easier and he could have treated her as the queen she was.
Robin tried composing himself to not break down and however he managed to gain a little confidence, he had no idea, saying,
"Dear one, good morning."
He wished he could hug her and thank her for all that she did for him but also thought it best to not let her know that he found out the truth about her secret gift to him, so she wouldn’t mistake his kindness as trying to compensate her for it.
Sabrina rolled her eyes at the fact that he called her by the name again.
"Good morning, Robin, it’s good to see you in good shape." She was about to go and hug Devin when he chipped in,
"I told you he was fucking some bitches."
Sabrina rolled her eyes again but did not respond, only hugging her brother when he added as his arms wrapped tightly around her,
"In case he is not able to come in the evening, call me. I came because I was not sure he’d come as you said. Take care, Brina,"
"Take care, Devin."
After Devin sat back in his car, Sabrina took the roses from Robin. "Thank you. They are very beautiful and I will take them inside. Please give me a minute."
Robin smiled but could not respond. He just lost the confidence to tell her that she looked more beautiful than the roses. When she returned, he opened the door for her and asked,
"Has the chef been bringing your meals on time? Are you taking your vitamins? I think we have to go for a review the day after tomorrow."
Talking about the chef, an idea crossed Robin’s mind and he sent a message to his chef at home. Though he did not want Zayla to be suspicious, he could not allow her to be enjoying so much luxury.
He found it abhorring to continue paying a chef to cook for a woman who destroyed his marriage and whose father killed his mother.
’You will begin working at the Crystal Hotel tomorrow.’
After getting an instant response, he sent another one to the cleaning company, ’I will not be needing the services of cleaners in my penthouse beginning tomorrow.’
He pressed the start button and began to drive after that. He would see how Zayla would be able to cook and clean all by herself.
"The chef has been good." Sabrina smiled and said while leaning her head on the backrest. Robin said politely,
"If you need anything else, please let me know."
Sabrina was surprised by his level of politeness and rolled her eyes, wondering what must have caused the change in him.
"So, what did you find in the villa? Do you want it for Zayla?" She asked but since her eyes were on the road as Robin drove, she did not see the darkness in his eyes at the mention of Zayla. He wished he could wipe her mouth from mentioning such an evil name as if it was going to pollute it.
"The villa is yours, Sabrina. I can never take it from you."
"I already gave it out," Sabrina smiled and spoke. She had no regrets since it was in the hands of a trusted person but Robin insisted,
"But it still belongs to you."
"So, what did you find out?" Sabrina asked curiously but Robin was ashamed to admit it. He smiled but it was filled with pain.
"Is there anything to find out?"
"Whatever caused you to faint might just be serious?" Sabrina pinpointed but Robin was just too embarrassed and lied,
"I didn’t faint."
"I never thought your best friend was a liar and the security confirmed there was even a doctor," Sabrina refused to give up.
Robin thought of a way to escape her scrutiny. He gazed at her longingly and said,
"Maybe it was because you were all over the place when I got there. It’s so difficult to not miss you."
Sabrina did not seem amused about what she thought to be a joke.
"I think you need a spectacle Robin, I am not Zayla. She should be the one you are missing."
Robin stared at her but she refused to look at him, keeping her gaze on the road. "Zayla means nothing to me."
"Tell that to me in another life. You know what, let’s not talk anymore. Just drive," Sabrina said with irritation in her voice. Her mood was ruined because of how Robin denied Zayla.
Every woman she heard or saw Robin with, he never brought them home but broke that rule for Zayla and yet he was saying she meant nothing to him.
"How is our baby?" Robin asked after he pulled over at her car park. He knew there was no way to convince her about Zayla so he stopped trying.
"Baby should be fine," Sabrina said and attempted to open the door but Robin had not unlocked it.
"Can I touch your bump again? You have your clothes on," he asked longingly.
"Robin..."
Sabrina wanted to refuse due to the way it made her feel the last time but Robin thought to remind her,
"Please, it’s the only way to feel a connection to him or her."
Sabrina swallowed tightly before she unbuttoned her blazer. She wore a white tube over the black skirt, which revealed her small bump. As Robin’s hand caressed that little bump, he felt tears in the back of his eyes.
"I want to kiss our baby, Dear one, I hope you won’t refuse."
Chapter 158: Chapter 158 – Robin slapped Zayla
"I want to kiss our baby, Dear one, I hope you won’t refuse?"
Sabrina stilled at the question. Robin was behaving weirdly and she was not liking it for whatever his reason was.
Kissing the Bump was romantic with couples who were in love with each other, but not a broken divorced couple like them.
She was still wondering what exactly went on in the villa to cause this change in him and was almost certain that it was not because he missed her presence as he said. She could feel that something had happened that Robin was not saying.
After all, she knew him for years before they got married for another three years.
"Robin..."
Robin was sure that this was not going to be kind to him this time. Indeed, he was being selfish because kissing the bump was a form of intimacy.
He wanted her so badly, he had to resolve to another shameless approach.
While his hand continued to caress her little bump, he said innocently, "It’s a kiss for the one in the womb, not his or her mother."
Sabrina did not give him her approval but he took her silence for a yes, bent over, and kissed her stomach where his hand lingered earlier.
Sabrina felt hot and uneasy, as his lips pressed there for over a few seconds, basketing in her warmth.
Robin wanted to remain there for the rest of the day because over there, it felt safe and warm but sadly, he already closed the door to that right.
Just as Sabrina was about to push him away, she felt wetness on her thighs, understanding that they were Robin’s warm tears.
Robin was crying and she could not understand the reason why she should care but perhaps it was because she feared she was the cause of his tears.
"Robin, why are you crying?" She ensured to not touch him in any way to console him but Robin froze at the words she used and quickly lifted his head from her stomach.
He pulled a handkerchief from his breast pocket and wiped his tears, not wanting her to see him as being weak.
"Nothing. I just hope that he or she will look like you but can I ask a question?"
Robin felt like he did not deserve the child they were expecting, whether male or female to look like him since he felt terrible and was afraid that they would inherit the foolishness in him which caused him to blindly believe Zayla.
Sabrina had not thought about it but was rather interested in whatever question laid on his heart that he wanted to ask her.
"What? And can you please not cry on my lap again? how do I handle this?" Sabrina was helplessly looking at her tear-stained skirt, wondering what could make a man like Robin cry so much.
If they were tears of regret, then it was too late because the moment she signed those divorce papers, everything ended between them and she would not be a fool to walk that path again.
Robin saw the stains from the wetness of his tears, feeling ashamed. He was not a man who easily shed a tear but since yesterday, he has been shedding them freely.
Zayla indeed messed up his life and he did not know how to get his ex-wife back since she no longer looked at him as she did before.
It also meant that she was no longer obsessed with him. "I’m sorry but that is a good thing about black. It isn’t too obvious," Robin looked at the stains and smiled. It felt like his mark was imprinted on her.
"So, what do you want to ask?" Sabrina took her attention off the skirt and asked him seriously. Robin turned serious as well and sought her advice.
"I saw my father’s clothes in the closet and I don’t know what to do with them. Can you advise? You were closer to him than me."
Sabrina instantly felt sad at the mention of Robin’s father. The man pampered her more than her biological father ever did.
Then again, she felt that Robin must have cried because he missed his father upon going to the villa again and said,
"I thought about it before but decided to leave them there. Each of those clothes has special stories."
What she would not tell Robin was the fact that she bought most of those clothes as gifts for her late father-in-law on different occasions from birthdays to Christmas, thanksgiving, and all.
She loved to buy them because the old man by then was very appreciative and would always wear every piece of clothing she bought for him, whether cheap or expensive.
They shared a special bond. From the way she said it, Robin discerned there was more and asked her,
"Can you tell me about them?"
Sabrina smiled at the recollection. Most of her best memories in that villa were with her late father-in-law.
"Unless we go to the villa but I have work to do."
"Perhaps we can plan a time to do so another time," Robin said earnestly, hoping to use it to spend a little time with her.
While they were speaking, his phone began to ring but he did not answer it after checking the caller ID and seeing it was Zayla. Sabrina saw it too and her expression changed.
"See you in the evening," she said and opened the door before Robin could go around to open it for her.
His heart felt heavy and his anger rose towards Zayla for spoiling this moment for him.
Still not answering Zayla’s calls, he got to his office to see her fuming at the reception.
"Robin, why did you not answer my calls? Last night, you said we should start afresh and you changed again this morning. How could you even run a company when you can’t keep your word?"
Robin lost his resolve and before he knew it, his palms met Zayla’s cheek very hard, she felt more pain than she did when Devin slapped her.
Her face glistened with tears, as shock and pain spread through her body.
Chapter 159: Chapter 159 – Robin, I’m sorry
Earlier
Zayla woke up to her phone ringing. She felt a little more groggy than usual but seeing it was her father, she soon answered after recalling everything Robin said to her last night including the villa.
She was smiling like a fool, feeling like she won after all. In the end, Robin was hers for real and was even going to take the villa from Sabrina and give it to her.
She was just disappointed to have fallen asleep before seducing him to sleep with her but since he has shown a change in making things right between them, she was certain that that would happen tonight.
"Hello,"
"Zayla, what the fuck is wrong with Robin?"
Her father’s yell caused every fantasy to disappear from her mind, as she was loaded with confusion and anxiety.
"Dad, what are you talking about?"
She tried to stay calm but her father’s loud and resounding voice caused her to panic.
"All my investors are calling me at the same time for repayment and threatening to get me arrested if I don’t pay them in a week.".
"They said that Robin would do nothing and if they sent me behind bars, no one would be able to get me out."
Kennedy was furious for this to be happening since he had no intention of paying them back because his company already went bankrupt. Zayla was equally confused.
There must be something wrong somewhere because from what Robin said, things were supposed to change between them.
"That’s not true. Robin apologized to me last night for getting upset over the half a million I withdrew from the account he assigned to me and the supposed baby’s expenses. He said we were going to have a new start. We even had dinner together for the first time."
Her father was happy to hear about this change of development and was filled with renewed hope. Perhaps there was indeed something wrong somewhere and he would wait for Zayla to resolve it.
"Then you better get me out of this mess."
"No worries. I will call you back," Zayla assured him with certainty.
Zayla hung up and called Robin on the phone. For a zillion times, the man refused to answer her calls, which was frustrating after all they talked about last night and his gentleness towards her.
It was just that he looked tired but aside from that, everything was fine. so told the driver to send her to his office.
Since it was Robin’s office, the driver did not see anything wrong and did as told but reaching there, Robin was not in the office as Zayla expected, and began to wonder where he must have gone so early in the morning.
The secretary had confirmed that he left before she arrived and though she heard people inside, Aria refused to allow her in.
Aria wanted to make sure that not just her boss’s inner room but also his office was affected by the change before he arrives, so as not to incur his anger.
Anytime she arrived at the office to meet an official email when her boss was not around, then it meant that he wanted things done before his arrival.
Zayla decided to wait at the reception for whoever was going to come out of the office and a woman did with two other girls, making her furious, as Aria would not tell her who the women were.
After they left, the secretary went inside and came out but would still not let Zayla in. While she was still waiting at the reception, Robin walked in, meaning he had indeed not been in the office before it clicked with Zayla that he must have been with Sabrina.
The thought of it drove her crazy, she lost her mind. How could Robin want to smoothen things with her and still have his ex-wife as a rump? He even ignored her calls. How disrespectful of him?
"Robin, why did you not answer my calls? Last night, you said we should start afresh and you changed again this morning. How could you even run a company when you can’t keep your word?"
Robin lost his resolve and before he knew it, his palms met Zayla’s cheek very hard, she felt more pain than she did when Devin slapped her.
Her eyes glistened with tears, as shock spread through her body.
"Robin, you hit me?"
Zayla was so pitiful, looking like an innocent lamb but Robin’s eyes were red with fury and there was no regret in it. Zayla trembled at how he glared at her with hate before spitting,
"This is the last time you address me with disrespect."
Aria almost burst into laughter but had to control it to not offend her boss. Robin walked into his office soon after and Zayla’s confidence instantly disappeared, she turned into a lamb and followed him.
With her father’s debts after him, Zayla knew to not mess this up and spoke with humility,
"Robin, please, I’m sorry."
Robin’s cold glare made her cower. She thought the worst she ever saw of him was that night in the villa when he had the argument with Sabrina before the divorce but this Robin was worse than that, she wondered exactly what happened after she fell asleep.
"What do you want?"
Zayla put on her acting mask since she needed his help and smiled flirtatiously. She went to hug him but he stopped her before she reached his desk. The distance between them was so wide.
"Stop there and tell me, what do you want?"
Zayla was trembling like a mouse and the words could barely come out of her mouth.
"Robin, last night..."
"I’m very busy and I have a meeting in a few minutes. Will you get straight to the point?"
Robin’s behavior was so strange, Zayla was sure that he would not treat even his enemies like that so why was he doing this to her?
Besides, he said that the money belonged to both of them so that should be good right?
Her confidence grew and she put her problems on the table,
"Robin, my father said the investors are after him. What happened? They gave him two years before but have suddenly changed their minds."
"The investors are businessmen. If they need their money to invest, then there is nothing I can do about it now so GET OUT!" He roared, and Zayla paled immediately.
Chapter 160: Chapter 160 – Sabrina slaps Zayla
Zayla staggered and almost ran out of the office from fear but what would she tell her father and what would they do about those investors?
Robin was her only hope at the moment, for which reason she had to stay and try to understand the reason for his sudden hostility towards her.
Then again, she thought about Sabrina. Could it be that Sabrina got him upset for which reason he was unleashing his anger on Zayla? That could be it.
That was the only tangible reason and it wiped Zayla’s fears.
"Robin, you promised to give me the villa."
"Did I?"
The chilliness in Robin’s voice was nothing she ever heard before; tears began to fall from her eyes. Robin did not lie so how could he forget the things he said last night so quickly?
He wasn’t drunk or was he under the influence of drugs? Zayla did not think so since the man seemed to be perfectly fine.
"You said you were going to speak to Sabrina about it."
Robin pretended as if he just remembered and responded with the same chilliness,
"Yes, I did. Why don’t you go and ask her?"
He knew that Devin had a spy around Sabrina too, for which reason he allowed it so Devin could deal with Zayla.
"Alright. I will talk to Sabrina myself," Zayla smiled through tears.
The villa was the solution to all their problems and she knew exactly how to provoke Sabrina to give it to her.
"Good luck," Robin said after her with a darkened gaze while he quickly activated the cameras in Sabrina’s office as Daniel taught him after the installation.
He needed to ensure that things would be in Sabrina’s favor and could not wait for Zayla to make a mockery of herself.
When Zayla sat in the car and gave her destination to the driver, he texted Robin and only after gaining Robin’s approval, did the driver move.
Reaching Sabrina’s company, Zayla did not even greet the secretary before barging into Sabrina’s office upon reading the tag on the door, knowing that the secretary would not allow her in if she asked.
The secretary instantly called Devin. "Sir, Miss Chance barged into Miss Jewel’s office. Should I go and drag her out?"
"What?" Devin hissed and rushed out of his office. "I will do so myself,"
Inside Sabrina’s office, she hung up the phone after speaking to an investor when her door was rudely opened and Zayla stood at the entrance fuming.
Sabrina was upset to have an intruder in her office but since Zayla looked like a scorned woman, she waited to hear what she had to say.
This was her territory anyway and she could always call security to drag her out.
"How dare you, you little rat. How dare you barge into my office? Is it because you don’t have one?" Sabrina barked at Zayla who was so angered because of the way she was addressed.
She was two years older than Sabrina but looked smaller in terms of height.
"I am two years older than you and demand your respect," Zayla said seriously but Sabrina found her to be funny and nauseating.
No matter the designer brands Zayla wore, Sabrina always saw her to be grossly pathetic.
"Like you deserve it. I’ve always waited for a moment like this," Sabrina said coldly.
Ever since her friendship ended with Zayla, she never saw an opportunity like this except that day in the washroom.
Over there, it was not Sabrina’s territory so she was careful but, in her office, she was in charge. Zayla scoffed at how Sabrina spoke, feeling that Sabrina was a pitiful woman, loving man who never gave her any attention.
She was also sure that if not for Sabrina’s pregnancy, Robin would not have given her any attention.
"Have you? You should have come to look for me then," Zayla responded daringly but Sabrina remained on her swivel chair while she addressed Zayla without offering her a seat.
"You know me, Zayla, I don’t go looking for trouble."
"I came here for two reasons," Zayla said with an air of demand. Since she was the one with Robin, it was her right to have the villa, for which reason she could not help being polite about it. Now when Robin had given her permission.
Sabrina was not interested in whatever reason brought her here and mocked menacingly, "And am I supposed to offer you urine? You could as well sit on the floor."
Zayla was greatly pained by Sabrina’s disrespect towards her. For age’s sake, she deserved some respect from her junior but was also surprised by how rude Sabrina was.
She was sure that Robin never saw this side of Sabrina before for which reason he kept thinking of and seeing her as an angel.
"Now you are showing your true colors because there is nobody here," Zayla accused her but Sabrina laughed and responded,
"I never pretend, Zayla. When I hate someone, I am not afraid to show it."
"Isn’t it pathetic how you claim to hate Robin and always allow him close to you?" Zayla’s voice sucked with hate while she spoke.
She hated seeing Sabrina close to Robin and was feeling helpless since Sabrina was pregnant. That baby would be hers one day, for which reason she hadn’t kicked Sabrina in the stomach yet.
"I am not strong enough to send him away if he keeps coming to me. I guess you are not enough for him," Sabrina said mockingly. Seeing Zayla’s eyes darken with anger, she felt even more elated.
"We have sex every day. Something you will never get," Zayla lied but Sabrina laughed harder, recalling what Robin had said to her concerning him and Zayla.
"Oh, you wish, Zayla. He told me himself that he never touched you since you both moved in together. I guess Robin treats his side chicks better."
"What do you mean?" Zayla was furious for the fact that Robin revealed something so sensitive in their relationship to his ex-wife, and approached Sabrina’s desk, ready to attack and forgetting that she wanted the Child in Sabrina’s womb.
Her anger could only be quenched by inflicting pain on Sabrina but when she tried to hit Sabrina, she caught her arm and slapped Zayla hard.
The same cheek Robin had slapped before. Zayla was seeing stars. She never thought or knew that Sabrina was physically strong, especially when pregnant.
